Elhunyt Jonas Wray, Jeremy Wray testvére és szintén pro deszkás. A Wray fivérek a 90-es évek óta nagy hatással voltak szinte a mai napig a gördeszkázásra. Pályájuk kezdete óta szinte összenőttek és legjobb barátokként nagyon sokakat inspriáltak, a 90-s évek gördeszkázásának megtestesítői.

Jeremy az instagram oldalán közölte a megrendítő halálhírt, amely szerint Jonas elaludt. Újabb deszkás ment el idő előtt. Részvétünk az egész családnak.

Well, we kind of have those fights in the show... I’d still say Teal’c. He’s got more than muscles and that’s experience in strategic combat.

2. Who would you pick: Jack O’Neill, Daniel Jackson, John Sheppard, Rodney McKay, Cameron Mitchell, Jonas Quinn or Ronon Dex?

As a man? Daniel, of course! As a team leader? Jack.

3. Who is the best head of SG (SGC or SGA): George Hammond, Hank Landry, Elisabeth Weir, Sam Carter or Richard Woolsey?

George Hammond for sure.  Nothing against the others, Hammond just gave the example how to do it.

4. Who is the best enemy: Goa’uld, Replicators, Ori or Wraith?

That is an interesting question because “best” can have many interpretations. Personally, I had the most fun with Goa’uld. I saw the Replicators as a greater threat, though, because they can replicate and evolve quite easily so technically, they are the best. They managed to almost destroy such a developed race as Asgards!

5. If you could pick three characters (no matter if dead or alive) to create a team, who would they be?

Lol, ‘no matter if dead or alive’... So, Sheppard as a leader. Sam as a scientist (she could swap with Zelenka). Ronon as the muscle. And me, I’d be female Daniel.

6. Where would you be rather stationed: SGC or Atlantis?

Atlantis, definitely. I think I would get claustrophobic in SGC, to be honest. And as Pisces, I am very close to water.

7. What’s your favourite ship (canon or not) from each show?

Nothing could be easier to answer.

SG-1: Daniel x Vala, SGA: Rodney x Jennifer, SGU: Everett x T.J.

8. What rare/alien species did you like the best?

Oh wow... Hard to choose between Asgard and Nox but I suppose I’ll go with good old Asgard.

9. Who is your favourite Alien (person/creature not from Earth).

Vala Mal Doran, without a doubt.

Stargate Universe Season 2 Thoughts

Highlights

Great episodes: Twin Destinies, Alliances, Hope, The Hunt, Common Descent, Epilogue, Blockage, Gauntlet (basically the second half of S2)

Really the second half of the season is when it became fantastic. A shame they spent so much of the previous season (and earlier in S2) with pointless melodrama instead of this. It could have been great from the start, but the damage was already done :(

The two hobbit scientists became my fave! so sassy

They used fewer sappy song montages (when the show started getting good, they also stopped with the songs. That’s not a coincidence.)

Fewer Earth scenes and focused more on their predicament on the Destiny. And when they did do scenes on Earth they were nicely done and moved the plot forward rather than relationship drama (like Eli’s mom finding out the truth, Greer and Wray on Earth during the Lucian Alliance attack).

Also, with fewer scenes devoted to random angst, the background characters were able to shine. Park, Volker, and Brody were the best!

Lowlights

They killed off Riley :(

Ginn. I really dislike that actor for some reason (they killed her off fairly soon after so that was good)

I know a few of you love Rush and said he’d get better, but I honestly don’t like him at all. He did get a BIT better, but dude’s a dick

How could they do an episode on Langara and not bring back Jonas? :(

Not only did Priyanka Chopra make a stylish appearance at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s royal wedding on May 19, but she also took to Instagram to gush about her bestie’s big day. “Every once in a while there is a moment when time stands still … that happened today,” she wrote. “You my friend were the epitome of grace, love and beauty.”

But sadly, the duchess won’t be able to do the same for her close friend when she marries Nick Jonas on Sunday (Dec. 2) in Jodhpur, India.

“There are no plans” for the expecting couple to make the trip, according to sources who spoke to Harper’s Bazaar . “The couple was invited to all of the celebrations in India but given how much travel would be involved for Meghan, who’s now five months pregnant, they decided against it.”

The Duchess of Sussex is surely disappointed to miss Priyanka’s big day, for which preparations are well underway! She’s normal, she’s sweet, she’s nice, she thinks about the world, wants to change it and this was even before any of this happened,” Priyanka told the Harper’s Bazaar Arabia in January. Jeremy Wray kétség kívül minden idők egyik legnagyobb gördeszkása. A lehetetlenség határát súroló trükkjei újra és újra felvetették a kérdést: mi az, amit még meg lehet csinálni egy gördeszkával? A híres víztorony ollie-ja a mai napig az egyik legőrültebb trükk a gördeszka történetében. (A No Comply Network-ön megjelent interjú szerkesztett változata.)

Azzal kezdem, amit általában mindenkitől megkérdezek az elején: szerinted létezik valóságos kapcsolat a gördeszkázás és a kreativitás között? Úgy gondolom, hogy kétségkívül összekapcsolódik a kettő. Legalább is régebben így volt. Számos deszkás a 80-as, 90-es évekből egyben művész is volt vagy dizájner és kreatív körökben mozgott. Én igyekeztem mindig is felnézni azokra, akik előttünk voltak, tanulni tőlük és megpróbálni úgy csinálni a dolgokat, hogy büszkék legyenek rám.

Jó pár cipő tervezésében részt vettél annak idején. Mesélnél erről? A cipőtervezésbe legelőször a Dukes Shoes kapcsán csöppentem. Ott teljesen az alapoktól alkothattam meg, amit szeretnék. Nekem kellett a brand nevét kitalálnom, megterveznem a cipőket, a logot de még a dobozt és a cimkéket is. Hatalmas vállalás volt és nagyon élveztem, hogy mindent én rakhatok össze.

Miután ez a márka befutott, Rocco eladta (Steve Rocco, tulajdonos és a World Industries alapítója) így Jamie Thomas-hoz, Chris Miller-hez és Jose Gomez-hez csatlakoztam, hogy segítsek az Adio Footwear megalkotásában. Újabb nagyívű projekt, de ezúttal legalább mind olyanokkal dolgozhattam együtt, akikkel valami egyedit tudtunk létrehozni. Jó néhány kiváló deszkás cipőt csináltunk az évek alatt.

Miután az Adio-t is eladták, terveztem egy újabb cipőt, ezúttal az Element-nek, amiben felhasználtam az eddigi összes tudásomat és megalkottam egy elég masszív deszkás cipőt. De nem sokkal utána az Element leállította a pro cipő programját. Az elmúlt 16 év java részében cipőket terveztem és komolyan megfordult a fejemben, hogy a jövőben is ezzel fogok majd foglalkozni, de a soron következő lehetőség nem jött el, legalább is még nem.

Mit ajánlanál azoknak, akik még csak most bontogatják a kreatív szárnyaikat? Erre mindenki rögtön rávágná, hogy „Légy önmagad!” Ez a legjobb és a legrosszabb tanács is egyben. Az emberek túlnyomó többségének fogalma sincs arról, hogy ki is valójában, kiváltképpen fiatalkorban, amikor alakulóban van a személyiség. Így a legjobb tanácsom az, hogy hallgass a szívedre. Ha jónak találsz valamit, az nagy valószínűséggel az is – neked - attól függetlenül, hogy mások mit mondanak róla. Ha valamit nem érzel őszintének vagy erőltetett a művészetben, de ez a deszkázásra is igaz, akkor az nagy valószínűséggel az is és ezekre a benyomásokra érdemes odafigyelni.  

A gördeszkás világon kívül van általad igen tisztelt tervező? Hogy őszinte legyek, nem nagyon lépek ki a deszkás világból. De mindig is rajongtam a letisztult és intelligensen megtervezett munkákért. Van néhány dizájner, aki szerintem nagyon jó ebben: Benny Gold, Bohnam, a Loser Machine, a Dark Seas és Shepard Fairey, hogy említsek párat.

Mikor indítottátok a Wraybros-t, ki van a csapatban és mi a cég filozófiája? A testvéremmel, Jonas-szal indítottuk a Wraybros-t 2013-ban. A csapat jómagam, Jonas, Paul Luna és Pat Channita. A 90-es évek óta deszkázunk együtt. A célunk az, hogy jól érezzük magunkat miközben jókat deszkázunk és így kiszakadunk egy kicsit a világból.

Min dolgoztok mostanság? Az újabb póló, sapka és lap kollekción dolgozunk. Szeretnénk pár video-t is csinálni azokkal, akikkel együtt szoktunk hajtani. De semmi túl komoly.

Mit emelnél ki a gördeszkás karrieredből? Nemrég újra felkerestük azt a San Diego-i spotot, amit a Color video bevezetőjében ollie-zok. Arra emlékeztem, hogy nagyon hosszú, mert lemértem a lábammal és úgy szűk 6 méterre saccoltam. Ezúttal vittem magammal mérőszalagot és nem csak, hogy eléri a 6 métert, de a felvétel alapján, ahova érkezem, az meg is haladja azt, így ez az első dokumentált 6 méter hossz fölötti ollie. Még most is elképesztő a számomra, hogy lehetséges volt ekkorát ollie-znom, különösen, ha figyelembe vesszük, hogy akkoriban 39-40 mm-es kereken gurultunk. Örület.

Igen, te mindig is bevetted a legnagyobb dolgokat, tetőket, rengeteg nagy magasság és veszély. Mi vitt arra, hogy ezeken a helyeken deszkázz? Fejben ki tudtam kapcsolni a magasságot és csak az áthidalandó távolságra fókuszáltam. Ha meg tudsz csinálni bizonyos trükköket síkon valamin át, vagy lépcsőről, akkor a helyes gondolkodásmóddal ugyanazt meg tudod csinálni bármilyen magasan, akár tetőkön át is. A legnagyobb rizikó az lehet, hogy nem mész elég gyorsan, hogy át tudd ugrani. Én próbálok inkább mindig gyorsabban menni, hogy magabiztosan átugorjam, minthogy véletlenül felakadjak.

Korábban említetted az „erőltetett” stílust. Miért gáz szerinted, ha valaki utánoz egy stílust, amin érződik, hogy nem igazán az övé? Szerintem nem mondok újat, ha azt állítom, hogy bizonyos mozdulatok, vagy természetellenes kéztartások pl. miután bejön egy trükk csak attól nem lesz laza, hogy más valakinél jól nézett ki egy videóban. Biztos sokan nem értenek ebben egyet velem, amivel nincs is gond. Ízlések és pofonok. Ami nekem bejön és szerintem laza, az nem biztos, hogy másnak is úgy áll. Úgy gondolom, hogy a deszkázás természetesen néz ki a legjobban.

Igazad lehet. Mik az említésre méltó terveid a közeljövőben? Szeretném, ha a Wraybros brand növekedne, fejlődne a művészeti értéke, a grafikák kifinomultabbak és az arculat minél letisztultabb lenne. Emelni a termékeink minőségét, ameddig csak lehet és eljuttatni őket minél több skateshopba. Lesznek kollab-ok más brand-ekkel is, legújabban például a Forty-val, akik indítanak egy „designed by” sorozatot. Ez lesz a következő projektem.

Meghan Markle missing Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' wedding: Report - HELLO! Canada

Not only did Priyanka Chopra make a stylish appearance at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s royal wedding on May 19, but she also took to Instagram to gush about her bestie’s big day. “Every once in a while there is a moment when time stands still … that happened today,” she wrote. “You my friend were the epitome of grace, love and beauty.”

But sadly, the duchess won’t be able to do the same for her close friend when she marries Nick Jonas on Sunday (Dec. 2) in Jodhpur, India.

“There are no plans” for the expecting couple to make the trip, according to sources who spoke to Harper’s Bazaar . “The couple was invited to all of the celebrations in India but given how much travel would be involved for Meghan, who’s now five months pregnant, they decided against it.”

The Duchess of Sussex is surely disappointed to miss Priyanka’s big day, for which preparations are well underway! Priyanka and the “Jealous” singer are set to wed at heritage hotel Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace. Although the guestlist is a big secret, Nick’s brother, Joe Jonas, and his wife, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, are already there and deep in the celebrations. In the week leading up to their nuptials, the couple and their families and friends have been enjoying each other’s company in Priyanka’s home country.

Priyanka and Meghan’s friendship dates back to the former Suits star’s pre-Harry days, having first met at ELLE’s Women in Television dinner a few years ago and remained close ever since. Despite being oceans apart, their bond shows every time Priyanka opens up about her love for the duchess. “She’s an icon, truly, that girls can look up to, that women can look up to. She’s normal, she’s sweet, she’s nice, she thinks about the world, wants to change it and this was even before any of this happened,” Priyanka told the Harper’s Bazaar Arabia in January. And they still find time to catch up! Back in July, the Sussexes reportedly hosted the Quantico star and her fiancé at their Cotswolds country home.
