I love this gifset so much. Ever since I saw this prompt I knew what I was gonna do for it. The trick was to remember this scene, and where I had seen it. Both me and @thethistlegirl were seeing the same thing in our heads when we read the prompt and through a process of elimination of possible shows and episodes, we found it was the Magnum reboot pilot episode. It was too vivid for us to have made it up, and we were right, we did it see it somehere. This scene somehow got seared in our brains, and I am glad for that. This moment is going to haunt me for a long, long time. The trust, the support, the love and care between these two, mwah, chef's kiss.

This week in baseball, Connie edition
April 6
~ Génesis Cabrera shoved José Caballero in the face.
~ Miguel Rojas already hit his 2nd home run of the season!
~ Iván Herrera unexpectedly hit the first home run of the Cardinals home opener.
~ Lourdes Gurriel Jr. set a record for the Diamondbacks, hitting a home run in each of the first three games of the season.
~ Teoscar Hernandez hit 4 homers in four consecutive games!
~ I learned that Christian Yelich never got a hit on opening day in the first ten years of opening days in his MLB career, but finally got one on opening day this year. Thought it was a neat little bit o' trivia.
~ A.J. Puk (Marlins pitcher) had his first big league start and got 6 walks in two innings. Ouch.
~ The Pirates won the first 5 games of their season for the first time in more than 40 years.
~ Adolis García hit his 100th career home run.
~ Bryce Harper hit three homers in a single game (Thrice Harper), one of them being the 1,000th of his career.
~ Mookie Betts reached 1500 hits, and apparently he's had more hits and more home runs so far this season than some entire teams have had. Or something like that. Mookie Betts is one of those players I feel I don't have to pay much attention to because everyone else does it for me.
~ The Lowe brothers are both on the IL? I watched a Rays vs. Rangers game and they weren't there, and I was disappointed.
If I missed anything, feel free to let me know.

Winter Demo 2022 - Every Promise Kept
its nice to seeing a christcore band that's actually not homophobic // transphobic // sexist etc etc and actually practice what they preach. often most Christians can be cringe and often will not call out poor behavior. jay barker (she/they) speaking to no echo "I think there's this assumption that if you're in a Christian band you have to be a hate-monger and that's not the case, three of the five people in this band are trans women, and we're pissed off at the state of the church in America and it comes through in our lyrics." also their riffs high key slaps. also they played in a bookstore with upcoming mathcore outfit callous daoboys so that's also pretty cool.
ffo: zao, focal point, no cure xxx.
buy here ----

Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz in The Fountain (Darren Aronofsky, 2006) Cast: Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz, Ellen Burstyn, Mark Margolis, Stephen McHattie, Fernando Hernandez, Cliff Curtis, Sean Patrick Thomas, Donna Murphy, Ethan Suplee, Richard McMillan. Screenplay: Darren Aronofsky, Ari Handel. Cinematography: Matthew Libatique. Production design: James Chinlund. Film editing: Jay Rabinowitz. Music: Clint Mansell. I don't know why Darren Aronofsky's film is called The Fountain, unless Terrence Malick had already reserved The Tree of Life for his 2011 film. There's no fountain of significance in Aronofsky's movie unless it's the Tree itself and the viscous ooze it secretes. Actually, it's worth comparing the two films because both belong to a peculiarly overreaching genre of metaphysical-speculation movies. Malick's works better because it is grounded in a vividly actual portrait of growing up, whereas Aronofsky centers his film on a rather melodramatic story about a research scientist (Hugh Jackman) looking for a cure for the brain tumor that is killing his wife. This story dovetails awkwardly into a story the wife, nicely played by Rachel Weisz, is writing about a 16th-century conquistador's search for the Tree of Life at the behest of the queen of Spain (also Weisz). The Fountain begins in the middle of that story, with an Indiana Jones-like sequence of the conquistador (also Jackman) hacking through the jungle and battling Mayan warriors in his quest. But wait, there's a third story, in which Jackman is now a futuristic spaceman traveling in a transparent sphere -- I couldn't help thinking of Glinda the Good Witch -- along with the Tree itself, whose secrets he is attempting to uncover. No, I don't get it either. Jackman and Weisz give it all they've got, which is a lot, and Ellen Burstyn is always a welcome presence. Here she's the boss to Jackman's scientist, trying to keep him from flipping out when he discovers a cure at the very moment his wife dies. She doesn't succeed. There's a good deal of ponderous pronouncement like "Death is the road to awe" and a few nice special effects, as when the spaceman ingests the ooze from the Tree and begins to turn into a flowerbed. But the film as a whole is too unfocused to be either coherent or convincing.

Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad is a 2016 American superhero film based on the DC Comics supervillain/anti-hero team of the same name. Warner Bros. Pictures, produced by RatPac-Dune Entertainment, DC Films, and Atlas Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Distributed by Pictures,[4] it is the third installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film was written and directed by David Ayer and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinue-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood and an ensemble led by Cara. Delevingne. In the film, a secret government agency led by Amanda Waller recruits imprisoned supervillains to carry out dangerous black ops missions and save the world from a powerful threat in exchange for a reduced sentence.
By February 2009, a Suicide Squad film was in development at Warner Bros. Ayer signed on to write and direct Suicide Squad in September 2014, and the casting process began by October. Principal photography began on April 13, 2015 in Toronto, Ontario, with additional filming in Chicago and ended in August of that year. Suicide Squad premiered in New York City on August 1, 2016, and was released in the United States on August 5. After a strong debut that set new box office records, the film grossed over $746 million worldwide, making it the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2016. The film received negative reviews from critics, criticizing its plot, dialogue, direction, editing, action scenes and use of licensed music, although Robbie's performance as Harley Quinn was praised by some. The film won an Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the 89th Academy Awards; It is the only DCEU film to win an Academy Award. It followed a 2020 spin-off film Birds of Prey starring Robbie and a standalone sequel The Suicide Squad in 2021, with Robbie, Kinnaman, Davis and Courtney returning.

Magnum P.I. Canceled at NBC Magnum P.I.'s return is being cut short. NBC has opted to cancel Magnum P.I. following the second half of Magnum P.I. Season 5. That means fans have just ten episodes of the series remaining, and there's no telling when these episodes will see the light of day. Deadline first reported the news, revealing that NBC "has opted not to order additional episodes" beyond that, with a looming June 30 deadline for the network to keep cast options for a potential Season 6. There are various reasons why the network could have opted to end the series: The Hollywood writers strike is about to enter its third month, and writing on new episodes cannot commence until resolved. The first half of Magnum P.I. Season 5 was buried on Sundays, despite the show proving to perform well on Fridays while on CBS. The numbers were far lower than expected on NBC, and if the show isn't getting a renewal, it's likely the show wasn't getting much of a boost in post-airdate numbers. The budget could also have been a problem, with many companies in belt-tightening mode in recent months due to the challenges that face the TV sector. The good news here is that fans are getting ten more episodes, which have already been filmed, so there's a good chance they'll see the light of day sooner rather than later. The bad? If the episodes have already been filmed and the cast and creatives were holding out for a sixth season, there won't be any closure. Yes, it's possible that the upcoming season finale was written so that it could function as a series finale, but it's unfair to the fans that campaigned to save the show in the past not to get a decent ending. Magnum P.I. initially aired on CBS and delivered strong ratings across four seasons, so there were many unhappy fans when the series got the axe. Magnum P.I. stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Amy Hill, and Tim Kang. What are your thoughts on the cancellation? Hit the comments below. Remember, you can watch Magnum P.I. online right here via TV Fanatic. Edit Delete Paul Dailly is the Associate Editor for TV Fanatic. Follow him on Twitter. [ad_2] Read More
