jacket from hotline miami (short analysis)

jackets character is one that’s always really stood out for me, despite him never actually speaking throughout the game, it’s like the game speaks for him. the game makes a very comprehensible image of a man who’s suffocating in a sea of filth and bludlust, jackets someone’s who’s lost the ability to empathize with anyone or rationalize with himself, that being said, jackets not emotionless, near the beginning of the story, when jacket ultimately murders the homeless man, he pukes in disgust, even though his whole job revolves around killing. so it’s highly implied that he’s puking at his own doing, another instance of this is when he sees a homeless woman on the verge of death within one of the buildings he is ordered to clear, he doesn’t just decide to leave, he assists her by uses his home as a shelter for her, which could be a refrence to his regret for killing the other homeless man.

After a mission is complete, the usually upbeat “arcade” style music turns into a sort of melancholy droning sound, giving you a sort of realization of what you’ve done as you walk over the corpses to clear the building, i think in the situation of this game, the music speaks much louder then dialogue could. it allows you to snap back into reality, or more accurately, allows jacket to snap back into reality, as we’re playing in his pov after all. They’re even tiny little details that enhance jackets character a lot more, like his room. there’s no decorations, or anything to give him more of a personality, it’s almost sad, incomplete in a way. it seems to sum up jackets whole story in a way, this lonley, broken, incomplete murderer who’s story is one of anguish and confusion.

overall, jacket drives the entire game without speaking a single word, and that’s powerful in itself. even while being “mute”, his story is one that you could genuinely dwell on for days I LOVE HOTLINE MIAMI!!!!!!!!!!!<333

Playing Payday 2 with @ninjaredhead simulator

Not to put my younger sister on blast publicly on the Internet

But I'm about to do exactly that

She has since:

-broken this down record (13 in one game!!)

-gotten downed whilst trying to melee a taser with her fists (it should be noted that she had ample ammo on her person when this occurred)

-somehow attracted nearly every cop on the map in every single one of the heists we've run together without fail

-gotten us physically trapped in the GO bank vault

-somehow warped a loot bag across the map while it was actively being carried?? (It should be noted that we don't actually know how that happened, I'm just blaming her for it because I was on the other side of a building)

-observed a taser leap into a wall and vanish

-caused the Longfellow to collide with two objects that neither end of the car was facing (how)

And

-caused the Longfellow to go sideways (how???)

She's doing great on one hand but on the other hand hot damn

Mixtape Jacket x Reader

You are selective mute and Jacket gives you a matching tape recorder I really just made this for myself Also- @crispy-bonnie

Walking around the full safe house after being triggered into a mute state you decide to go down to the basement, figuring Jacket should be in his hang out. You stand in the doorway watching Jacket at his table with his back turned to you, you knock on the frame of the door, he turns quickly to look at you with both hands behind his back, blush settling lightly on his cheeks. You tilt your head slightly, walking in trying to look around him he moves in time with you, you sign 'What's that?'

You grab around his back. He huffs a bit, shaking his head somewhat he looks at you in your nonverbal state and decides that this would probably be the best time to give you this little present, he takes his hand away from his back holding a smallish box in his hand, holding out to you, nodding at it for you to take it from him. You take it from him opening the top slightly peering into the box, seeing a new tape recorder with some new tapes sitting in the box matching Jacket's tapes, looking back up at him you tilt your head a bit giving him a confused look. He grabs a notepad and pencil realizing he doesn't have a custom tape to explain what it's for, he scribbles something on the paper.

‘For when you are non verbal like me :)’ Is what it said, he smiles softly, carefully you take it out of the box inspecting the recorder then looked back into the box with what you assumed to be custom tapes, specially made for you. You smile at him softly, placing the box on the table next to you, going in for a hug, gently you wrapped your arms around his middle, nuzzling into the crook of his neck as he wrapped his arms around your neck, you pull back after a few sweet minutes and kiss him lightly before pulling away completely and take the contents of the box into your hands slipping one of the tapes into the recorder, clicking the play button.

"Hello" A masculine voice rasped out of the small cassette a stark contrast to Jacket's normal tapes, more resembling the microsoft tapes he had made a while ago. You fast forward the tape.

"How's the weather?" The cassette tone becomes distorted a bit at the end. You silently giggle a small bit at the distortion, he smiles mildly. You continue to click through the phrases and change out the tapes to hear the other ones as well, he tenetly watches you with trained eyes, watching you giggle at some of the wordage, that's when he gets a brilliant idea, getting your attention, he writes on the notepad again.

'Let's annoy the russian idiot across from us with the recorders'>:) He looks up at you mischievously smirking holding up his own tape, you nodded quickly before leaving the room together almost running into the makeshift hockey rink pressing all the buttons you could when running at Sokol, who, to his misfortune was just trying to practice before being bombarded by the two of you, you and Jacket kept saying hello over and over and over again, agitating the poor Russian. He put up with this for a few minutes cleaning up discarded pucks before picking up his hockey stick waving it at the both of you shooing you away from the rink, you both run out giggling, running back to Jacket's hang out, both jumping onto the small couch. Both of you smiled at each other before cuddling up together to watch old VHS taped movies on his small TV falling asleep together holding your new cassette player.
