In December 2041, the Simpson family gathered together to celebrate the holidays. Homer was now 69 and Marge 67. Bart (40) was divorced from Jenda (40) and had two sons, Picard/Jiff and Kirk/Skippy (there is some conflict on their names). He lived at the Springfield Elementary, which had been transformed into appartments. Principal Skinner had become the landlord there. Lisa (38) was married to Milhouse (40) and they had one daughter named Zia. Due to genetic eugenics, Zia only got genes from Lisa. Lisa had become a business woman. Maggie (31) wasn't married, but arrived very pregnant. She had become a pop star. Hospitals were staffed by medbots. Organs were able to be regrown. Brain transplants were viable as well cryogenic freezing. cloning was now common. Cyborg technology also existed. There were also robots, including lovebots. Holographic TV projection was now common. There were also advertisements projected to be seen from the sky. People were able to physically plug into the cyberverse. Instead of E-Mails, people sent B-Mails directly to their recipient's brain. Teleportation technology existed. Laser guns were available. Ghosts were proven to be real. It was learned that Homer had killed Edna Krabappel. He was also the reason strangling your children was illegal (Homer's Law). ("Holidays of Future passed", The Simpsons, TV)

The Njuggel [Shetland/Scottish folktales]
The Scottish Kelpie is one of the most popular and well-known water spirits. An unsuspecting victim comes upon a malicious creature that poses as an innocent horse. Enticed to ride it, the victim soon finds himself magically unable to dismount and can only scream as the horse plunges beneath the waves to drown its meal. The story certainly speaks to the imagination, but there are actually many variants of it: The Norwegian Nøkk, the German Nixe, the Welsh Ceffyl Dŵr, the Flemish Nikker, the Icelandic Nykur and many others are all variations of the same creature.
This relation can also be seen in their etymology: most of these names are similar, because they are thought to be derived from an old Germanic term for washing (as in, bathing something in a river, like the horse monsters do with their victims in the stories).
But I’m digressing. One of the most obscure variations of the tale comes from the Shetland Islands. Here, people told stories about the monstrous Njuggel (also called Njogel, Njuggle and in northern Shetland ‘Shoopiltee’ or ‘Sjupilti’). Like its relatives, this creature is an aquatic horse, usually depicted as a horse with fins. It also has a wheel for a tail (or a tail shaped like the rim of a wheel, depending on who you ask), but most modern interpretations drop that detail. Its hooves are backwards.
It lives near waterways and lakes and pretends to be a peaceful horse, taking care to hide its strange tail between its legs. Though it usually takes the form of a particularly beautiful horse, sometimes it is an old, thin horse. When a traveller finds the Njuggel, the creature influences them and convinces them to mount it. When the victim climbs into the saddle however, the creature runs away to the nearest lake to drown its prey. It runs at an extremely high speed, keeping its wheel-tail in the air. After accelerating to a high speed, its hooves burst in flames and its nostrils emit smoke or fire.
The victim cannot dismount, but if they can speak the monster’s name out loud, the Njuggel loses its powers and the victim can escape. What happens then varies between stories: sometimes the creature slows down and can be dismounted, and sometimes he vanishes into thin air.
Sometimes, you can see them at night: such sightings usually involve a white or grey horse emerging from water and run some distance before disappearing in a flash of light.
The Njuggel is not entirely the same creature as the Kelpie and the Ceffyl Dŵr. It has a connection with watermills and demands offerings such as flour and grain. If these gifts cease, it will halt the wheel of its mill. To avoid having to offer grain to this creature, people would light fires when a Njuggel appeared, for they are afraid of flames (usually peat was burned, although throwing a torch also did the trick). There is a story in Tingwall about a group of young men who tried to capture a Njuggel for themselves. They succeeded in chaining the creature but couldn’t hold it for long, and the Njuggel broke free and fled. But the standing stone to which it was chained is still there between the Asta and Tingwall lochs, and the marks that were supposedly made by the chain can still be seen.

Hello! Have SOS! Thomas and SOS! Gordon in Post-Mail (if they stay alive :>)
Tumblr media
He was just pulling the express to save his passenger from a ferocious Oliver when he realized he got infected by the plague. Still, he continued to drive until they out-ran the beast (or until they found a way to drive him away)
His insides and outside slowly started to burn. His face looked like it was melting. His eyes didn't even go black it was like he gazed at the sun for too long. And later on his started to emit smoke.
As a result, his lungs, throat and eyes we're badly damaged. His vision became very bad and he could not speak anymore. The doctors don't know if it's possible to give him back his voice.
He was advised not to pull the express for a while, which he agreed to (so did his family)
But when he got better, it seemed that Scotsman really didn't wanna let him drive the express again, for obvious reasons.
He almost died because of that, did you really expect that he'll let him of the hook that easily?
A ridiculous amount of people kept on asking Gordon and helping him out on the simplest things. Need a lift to get on the cabin? Sure. Want me to buy you lunch? Ok. Want me to clean your glasses? Alright!
No, Gordon did not ask them to. Nor did he even agree. I think the final straw was how the staff was considering having a substitute for Gordon to pull the express.
Now Gordon better understood Henry and why he didn't like being coddled.
Partially because it was aggravating, mainly because he felt bad for Scotsman, who kept on working his 4$$ off for him.
"Why does my beloved brother have to suffer with me?", he thought. So, like him, he got up and started to work more.
All of this is why he remained a vainglorious pompous 4$$ to this day. He just mocks you in sign language now but really he just doesn't want people to suffer because of him. He didn't save the people in the express for THIS.
Tumblr media
Wow imagined getting adopted at 30 lmao 😆😆 (totally not Thomas here/j)
When the boomer troops arrived, the town square had become infected. And thanks to a goddamn collision, Thomas remained trapped in a cabin for days, slowly getting infected.
Those were the worst moments of his life. Everything burned, it was so hot, there were barely and food—let alone water—for him to survive. He spent his days lying down there, coughing up blood until Edward and Henry found him.
After the event, his left eye was broken. He could no longer see well with it and it was irregularly shaped. He uses a monocle now because of this.
He also received multiple skin burns.
For mental problems, he got Agoraphobia: fearing and avoiding places or situations that might cause panic and feelings of being trapped, helpless or embarrassed (because I REFUSE to believe that he was still the same after being trapped helplessly with no one to turn to). He is currently taking therapy with James and Toby for this.
Oh and yeah he got adopted by Edward. He is now Thomas Blighton Stewart :> (Bill and Ben might be his stepbros soon)
He's still impatient and fussy but for different reasons, but he's been greatly humbled.
Okie thas it

“Newspaper Men Conducted Through the Penitentiary,” Kingston Whig-Standard. October 22, 1932. Page 10. ---- Shown Scene of Rioting— Cameras Inside the Walls Absolutely Taboo — News Men Couldn't Ask Questions ---- Conducted personally by General Ormond, superintendent of penitentiaries and Lt.-Colonel J. C. Stewart, commanding officer of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, ten newspaper men, three of whom were from the Whig-Standard, were taken through the barrier into the penitentiary itself and on a tour of the ground and buildings that lasted nearly an hour late Friday afternoon. Placed on their honor that they would not take a single question nor converse among themselves after they entered the gate, the ten newspapermen, who waited over three hours for the privilege, finally had an opportunity to see at first hand the actual scene of the turmoil that has excited the entire Dominion of Canada and far beyond its boundaries during the present week.
Just at noon, word was received that an interview would be given. The reporter hurried to the barrier at Alwington Avenue, where they waited until about 2.45 while necessary arrangements were made inside the walls. During that time, three parties of ten or twelve convicts each were escorted from the main penitentiary to the New Women Penitentiary.
Finally the word came and the entire party was taken past the guard at the barrier and down to the main gate. There they were all counted in. Ten, no more, no less. General Ormond and Colonel Stewart met the party outside the gate. Through another gate while the counting went on again, the whole party passed into the prison yard. The instruction that had been given over the telephone were repeated at the gate, about no questions and keeping silence.
Inside Walls From this point, the party proceeded to the right following roadways and paths through the grounds and among the buildings. At various points the General would stop and pointing with his cane, he would announce, in a clear military tone, "Main cell block," “Keeper’s Office." and such titles which he attached to the points of interest.
Early in the procession a few convicts in the main cell block gleaned that something unusual was going on and apparently, seeing the touring party, proceeded to give the visitor the razz in no uncertain tones. At that one time and, except for one slight incident later, no trace or hint of disturbance could be heard. What the eye could see was not very noticeable either, though ten men gave the whole show the closest scrutiny that it could possibly receive on a flying trip.
Down past the chapels, the party proceeded on as the General pointed his cane and announced ‘'Roman Catholic Chapel," “Protestant Chapel."
By this time the excursion had reached to waterfront part of the prison enclosure, following down the western wall. The kitchen was pointed out and through a barred door, two figures in white could be seen. These the General pointed out with the words: “Inmates working.”
Monday's Riot Scene The next step was to enter to southern block, the large building that houses the various workshops and in which the trouble broke out on Monday. These shops are located in the four arms of the cross-shaped building.
All of the shops, except one and that was the first one which the General approached, were open and the party was taken into and around them completely. The one hop which was looked was the blacksmith shop to which the trouble had it’s very origin. This explanation was given by General Ormond, who added a few more words to his previous short-clipped remarks. Apparently changing his mind, however, he stopped in the middle of a sentence and waved his hands to a gesture that he would explain later during the interview to his office. He did point out, however, the places on the doors where the locks had been burned out by acetylene torches. This was done first to the blacksmith shop and from there the torches were taken by the prisoners to the doors of other shops to the same building where other steel locks were burned off.
In the mail bag room, where it was announced the shooting of the first day took place, four sewing machines had been ripped from table and at one end of the room, the remains of the smashed machines were lying around. In the shops the General pointed to tools, saying "Plenty of weapons." Nothing else was said and apparently the party was to understand that the men had not fought as much or used as many weapons as might have been expected.
Power House Next the party entered the power house pump rooms and electric departments. The fires were going under the boilers, with soldiers doing the stoking. The machinery seemed to be all in operation. The General said, very dramatically this time, “Gentlemen, this is the power house.' He then shrugged his shoulders and all tried to draw their own conclusions as to just what shade of meaning was intended. His reference might have been to the persistent rumor a few days ago that this plant had been seized by the prisoners.
Coming out of the work-shop block, the party commenced working north again, this time crossing over and coming up the western wall.
The garages, the stables, and other such buildings were pointed out and the men invited to look in. In most of these buildings, a few broken windows could be seen but there were far mare Intact than broken.
Black Hole The next imposing building on the right was the Prison of Isolation, which the General described with the one title: "The Black Hole of Calcutta."
Here a second outbreak of noise was heard. It was not a direct call to the party below but coming from some broken window above, seemed to be prisoners on the inside calling to one another. One large window was completely broken out, every one of Its small panes being broken. The glass lay on the grass and the walk below and the General and his party walked over it without the slightest comment, no more than if it had been a pool of water on the roadside. In addition to the glass, about six or eight lengths of wood that seemed to be of about the weight of clapboarding were lying just where they had been pushed from the window above. It was evident that they had come from the window because four more pieces were sticking part way out through the broken pane, but nothing was thrown or moved while the party was to sight.
Continuing up near the east wall, the party again passed the main cell block upon which no comment was passed. It, as nearly everyone knows, is the main building surmounted by the prison dome. The newsmen were not in it at any time but passed on all four aides of it. It seemed to be absolutely quiet except for the one incident right at the outset.
Lighting Arrangements The special lighting arrangements on the walls next attracted the attention of General Ormond, who explained just what lights had been used on Monday night and what ones had been added on Thursday and again on Friday.
From here, the party passed through the front of the yard again and entered the offices at the gate. Again they were counted in, and the ten were still all there and no one had lagged behind. Just in case anyone should have had such a notion, the party had been followed on all its rounds by a soldier with a rifle, who trailed along very solemnly, said not a word, and always seemed to be looking just the other way.
The General then entered his own office and after another wait of a few minute, the whole party filed in. General Ormond read his interview as is given elsewhere.
At the conclusion he added: “Gentlemen, you can realise I am fairly busy. I bid you ‘Good afternoon.’
All were marched out again, signed the visitors’ register in one of the offices and filed through the gates, counted each time, just ten, no more, no less.

A Detective's Deadly Secrets by Anna J Stewart
A Detective’s Deadly Secrets by Anna J. Stewart is sadly the last in the series.  The hero is FBI Agent Eaman Quinn, someone readers should be familiar with.  He is reunited with a former girlfriend, Lana Tate.  She is searching for answers surrounding her late husband’s death but needs his help.  Together they work the case and become reacquainted.
Vanished is the second book in the “Red Lily series.”  It featuressingle mother Mabel Reynolds who wants to find answers regarding her twin sister’s disappearance. When new revelations shed light on what may have happened not only to her twin, Sylvie, but dozens of other women, Mabel hopes to find answers. New to the case is Assistant DA Paul Flynn who is willing to listen to her concerns and to investigate the case. Even allowing Mabel and her friends to add their input.  As they get closer to finding what happened their lives become endangered. As they work together there is an instant attraction which complicates matters further.
Both these books have a riveting suspenseful story with some romance. Readers will be on the edge of their seats as they won’t want to put these books down.
Elise Cooper: How did you get the idea for the story?
Anna J. Stewart: This final book in the “Honor Bound Series” evolved. I wanted it to be Eaman’s story, appearing first in Gone in The Night, book three.  When I ended the series, I wanted to go full circle with this book eight.  Since book three he has made appearances in all the books. It made sense to me to make his love interest someone he knew but could not get involved with because she was married.
EC:  How would you describe Eaman?
AJS:  Honorable, protective, loyal, calm, and confidant.  He is somewhat lost, questioning his own motivations as to why he still is an FBI Agent. He specializes in child abductions and child killings.
EC:  How would you describe Lana?
AJS: Lana is the one who really guides the story.   She can kick butt. She was an alcoholic but is now ninety days sober. Determined, skittish, stubborn, with a lot of inner strength. She makes poor decisions.
EC:  Why the alcoholism angle?
AJS:  I made her newly sober. An alcoholic is always an alcoholic. I wanted her to be in a place where a relationship is not an impossibility, but she must be careful to take care of herself. I wanted to write a character with substance abuse for quite a while. For this romantic suspense it added an extra layer.
EC: The relationship?
AJS:  She comes back into his life after her husband died eighteen months before. Lana has burned bridges because of her grief.  He is the only person she can trust. Lana is an interesting counterbalance to him. He wants something more than work and darkness.
EC:  How did you get the idea for your other book, Vanished in the “Red Lily Series?”
AJS:  It is book two in the series.  Exposed was the first book that ended with the heroine in Vanished, Mabel, having her sister disappeared eight years ago. I wanted to write a book where she experiences the loss of her identical twin sister but without any answers. There is a bit of a cliff hanger.
EC:  How would you describe Mabel?
AJS:  A single mom to an eight-year-old daughter, born at the same time her sister disappeared. She lives in an apartment building with four of her best friends, trying to help her what happened to her sister. She is going through a lot of emotional traumas. She is spiraling downward after Sylvie was tragically murdered. She is trying to deal with her emotions of anger, sadness, and frustration to find answers. Logically she knows Sylvie is dead but has a slimmer of hope she is alive.
EC:  What was the significance to the twin sister, Sylvie, coming alive in Mabel’s dreams?
AJS: My editor is a twin. I read a lot and talked to them about the psychological connection of identical twins. She is part ghost and so much a part of Mabel. There is this inherent connection. Readers can think of Sylvie as a dream, ghost, and/or Mabel’s self-conscious. I hope they consider her as an actual character in the book.
EC:  What are the differences between Mabel and Sylvie?
AJS: Mabel is practical, level-headed, logical, haunted, determined, and energetic. Sylvie was a dreamer, the romantic one, and happy. She chased the dream of stardom in Los Angeles. She always persevered.
EC:  How would you describe Paul Flynn?
AJS:  He grew up in Los Angeles and has always hated it. He is charming, kind, empathetic, tender with a little attitude. He is a high-profile DA which comes with a lot of confidence.  I liked playing with the dynamic that depending on who he is in contact with he has some different personality traits. He is very good at adapting to different situations and handling different types of people. He thinks quickly on his feet.
EC:  What about the relationship?
AJS:  Paul and Mabel have an instant connection. He sees in Mabel someone who really needs answers.
EC:  Next books?
AJS:  Book three picks up a couple of weeks after Vanished ends.  The epilogue of Vanished has a cliff hanger. The titled is Buried out in November. This will be the story of  Dr. Cassia Davis, a forensic expert.  She is has not left her apartment in four years, but the hero is hired as her eyes and ears.
The next book is the third book in my “Hawaiian Reunion series,” titled Surprise Second Chance. The plot has a single father who is dealing with some custody issues of his children with his ex. He needs to find the work-home balance.  He is given the opportunity to reconnect with his high school sweetheart living in Hawaii.
THANK YOU!!
