So like… one thing I’m lowkey confused about it how there are Spider-man comics in all their universes? Like ok idk about all of them bc they could just be using the comics set ups as yk a direct nod to the og comics when talking about the other characters but for RIPeter there are real comics about him as Spider-Man and about how he got his powers and all that bc that’s how Miles finds out he is like him and also what he goes to later for reference when trying to figure out how to use his powers so like… I can understand if there were comics detailing like Spider-Man’s previous adventures in saving the city and all that, that makes sense, but how do they know about his origin? He could’ve told them but like what name did they have for their Spider-Man comic bc it couldn’t have been Peter Parker. And those comics looked pretty old school so like did the idea of Spider-Man exist before the irl Spider-Man or ?? Cause if RIPeter had been Spidey for 10 years and the movie takes place in 2018 that would mean that RIPeter only debuted as Spidey in 2008 and those comics look older than that.

I hate the implication that the Spider-Man in our universe is the goddamn popsicle

Funny Screenshot redraw with Spider Noir and Spider Punk! The fighter duo! Honestly the idea that they’re possibly close in age makes Spider Noir being a mentor figure way funnier to me.

part of what made across the spiderverse so perfect was that it was largely centered on WHO spider-man is, in EVERY universe. not just Miles, or Peter, or Gwen, or Miguel. Spider-Man. it was about the ESSENCE of Spider-man. Spider-Man is love for humanity. Spider-Man is having to sacrifice and lose everything you love for the mask. Spider-Man is rebellion against the powers that be. Spider-Man is about trying to do both, in every universe. about not taking no for an answer or listening when everyone tells you your destiny. refusing to choose between the things and people you love. that’s why Spider-Man is so compelling: they want everything, even though everyone else tells them they can’t have it. that it’s not meant to be. and they just. keep. trying. keep getting back up. they just keep going, man.
