The Lin Kuei borthers were ROBBED in MK1 😭😭

As an audience, i HATE that Lin Kuei brothers are doomed by the narrative. I just want them to be a happy family, doing their stupid brothers bickering things, not trying to kill each other!

But then, as a writer... I appreciate the angst. Bi-han's character is so complicated, his upbringing, his personality make his betrayal almost justified and natural. I love tragedy of siblings ending up on opposite sides of a war and only thing i would change from canon plotline is to make Kuai the older brother bc imagine the angst if you think that Kuai used to protect his younger brother Bi-han from any harm but could not save him from the darkness that resides in his heart.

I'm very intrigued about how they gonna bring Noob Saibot in as well as Hanzo's rise as Scorpion (on the side now, wtf was ed boon's problem with making Hanzo literal child?? I will just ignore that canon) but yes, i want more of Lin Kuei brothers' drama and see more of Kuai and Smoke's bonding.

Ok I'd like to say I'll be posting my mortal kombat series on here. Be warned the first book was made when I was new to writing and believed in happy endings, the second book I got a lot better and the current book I'm writing I'm much better with realism in the story. Also, I'll try and make a master list to the series. also, the first book was really short. at the time, I didn't know what I was doing or how to write at all. but my stories made some people happy, and as far as I can tell, I'm the only person who started writing a mortal Kombat book series based on the games and actually went through with it to completion. now that the next game is coming out, I need to finish the one based on MK11. As much as I hate aftermath, I'll write for it too since Ed Boon stated that it's canon as it is leading into the next game. any constructive criticism is welcome.

Hey Minnie! Hope you don't mind me coming into your inbox to ramble, but I had a realization and a theory that I think you might appreciate.

So, I know we always complain about Dominic as The Guy Who Can't Write MK, and I do think he's part of the problem, but I think the real final boss of Bad MK Writers is Shawn Kittelsen.

He wrote the MKX comic, and is thus responsible for "Cassie was the result of a one night stand and Sonya never loved Johnny before MKX" (which is a bullshit interpretation of their dynamic), Hanzo "Sub-Zero is Beyond Saving Let's Just Leave Him For Dead" Hasashi, and probably other awful shit (oh wait, now I remember. Killing off a bunch of characters unceremoniously, for really no reason other than blood. That's just a shitty use of resources)

He started working on the games in MK11, and I'm pretty fucking sure he's responsible for Kotal/Jade (weird because it has no buildup), past Sonya being an unrepentant bitch (telling the father of your future daughter to get a vasectomy when you know said daughter personally is bitch behavior. As is not reading a mission report all the way through. Sonya is an emotionally repressed soldier, duty comes before everything for her. That's kinda the point of her arc in MKX??? But now she's suddenly incapable of understanding the idea that military service is about duty and sacrifice), the weird sexual threats Shao Kahn dishes out (because what the FUCK NRS? That's never been an aspect of the character before. Forced marriage, yes, but you'll note that he has no offspring of his own. Also, that's just a little much for the tone of MK), and probably the Sindel Retcon.

I have no idea what we're getting at, other than "Dominic is semi competent at writing" and "Shawn might just be on par with Stephen King, but only if you're comparing his writing to the sewer scene in IT."

And yeah, Shawn is apsolutley to blame as well. I think that the whole NRS writing team hates the franchise tbh(not the whole, but the Ones who write the most important stuff for the games and media). I did hear he was one of the main writters for mk11.

You are right tho, his interpretation of the characters that he did in the comics is pretty much what is ruining them the most(before mk11 ofc). I first found mkx the game and then the comics and without the knowlage of what comic!Hanzo did, i Just Kinda Thought he was Just a vengfull ass, but then the comics are what made me hate him.

I realy want to know what all of these mfs are smoking, cuz it doesnt seem like its good for them.

I also heard that mkx the game and mkx the comic were in production at the same time, so whoever was in charge of making sure they are on the same Page didnt do a good job, since the comics are not even complitely Canon at the end. Mostly cuz they didnt fit in with the game's narative and the characters were off(even they noticed, but a little too late). The "Cassie is a product of a one night stand" is one of them, cuz, in the game, some of the dialogue seems to indicate that Sonya was realy in love with Johnny and they only divorced later cuz of their marriage problems.

Some of their choices for mk11 are just disturbing. Someone Thought of that and actualy presented it and then someone ALLOWED it!

And Ed Boon seems to not give a flying f about what people do to the franchise he has built. Just stands around and hopes it makes him money.

In advance, i apologize if i ended up a bit biased and its complitely alright and understandable if Someone disagrees with me. I am in no way a profesional and probably just letting my emotions do all talking. (imma be honest, im mostly mad cuz the torture Kuai and then make him the bad guy or imply his life is easy)

Arcade: A sarcastic guy who could really take himself a little less seriously! She likes him though, he is funny and kind. Agrees with his opinions about how the Mojave should be run. His passion to help the ones who need it most is really admirable. He is such a huge nerd Jesus christ LOL

Boone: Can that man ever crack a joke? Laugh maybe? He's very intense. In all honesty, she feels awful for the guy of course. Isn't going to make a huge effort to be friends with him but she appreciates his skills in battle.

Veronica: She's such a sweet young lady! Would love to dress up with her and show her all the dresses she has. Absolutely loves her and hopes she can find somewhere to fit in after the Brotherhood. Sees her almost like a little sister or a niece.

Raul: It's nice to meet another ghoul of Mexican descent! (Katharine is a Latina!) She sees him like an uncle of sorts! She enjoys listening to the old man tell stories and talking about the pre-war days with him. She understands why he's so jaded, and it makes her sad. Hopes their journey can give him some fulfillment.

Cassidy: She has a very aggressive and rough personality. With her impatience and hard drinking, she's like a dirtier, less dressed up version of people Katharine has known before LOL. I don't think they'd be best friends or anything but I think they'd be acquaintances. She guesses there's something deeper in her that's upsetting her and that's why she drinks so much. Hopes whatever it is, it lessens over time.

Lily: That's her grandma okay! Don't fuck with her grandma!

Rex: Puppy 🥺💖

There's also the possibility you meant this in the entirely opposite direction, in which case:

Velma would be a follower of the apocalypse 100%. I think she'd be more computer-oriented, maybe something archival? You recruit her by stealing files from the Brotherhood and / or Mr. House for her to distribute.

Shaggy and Scooby-Doo would be hired guards but 1. they have to be hired as a pair (so you couldn't have, say, Shaggy and ED-E with you at the same time) and 2. you can pay in caps or weed (we would add weed to the game if we added the mystery gang. I make the rules). Scooby-Doo can talk because we're bringing talking animals back into Fallout canon. Again, I make the rules.

Fred would be a gecko trapper in a small town, maybe works with Sunny? He would give you a perk similar to Animal Friend where animals won't attack you. If you already have the Animal Friend perk maxed out and you recruit him you and him can train 1 gecko to shoot a gun and follow you around but it takes up your non-humanoid companion slot.

Daphne... hmmm. I think all the other characters would be adults but Daphne would be like 15. You would find her just kind of wandering around the desert and if you pass a speech check she'll hang out with you. I'm ngl I looked her up for ideas and all I'm getting is that she's a damsel in distress and didn't really do much.
