a new kind of romance, pt 6
part 5 | could we? wood we? - - - - -
💤 | cuddles
Kara Zor El, eater of foods, saver of worlds, and, above all else, lover of cuddles, was in a predicament.
More specifically her predicament was around the whole ‘lover of cuddles’ thing which, normally, wasn’t a predicament. In fact, normally it was second nature. Because of course she was going to sweep Alex into a giant hug any chance she could. And obviously she was going to drag Nia, kicking and screaming, onto a shared loveseat at game night. And most definitely, her internal clock was going to wake an hour early every time Lena slept over to sneak in some extra pre-work cuddles.
Which would have been so normal.
But then Kara discovered The Line in Lena’s closet. And then in the woods there was The Moment.
This was why Kara now lay awake, staring at the glow-in-the-dark stars she and Lena had plastered to her ceiling three weeks ago mulling.
And not the good kind that comes around the holidays and brings festive cheer and warmth and tidings of comfort.
No. There was absolutely no comfort and definitely no festive cheer. This was the kind of mulling that led to existential crises and fretting and second guessing and exactly four inches of space between herself and a soft, slumbering best friend. A demilitarized zone. A limbo. A Line.
And such a predicament it was because, up until recently, it hadn’t crossed Kara’s mind that these late nights turned sleepovers turned early morning cuddles might have toed a line. A line that seemed to loom larger and bigger and greater and cloudier with each passing day because the looming felt heavier and weightier and - oh gosh Lena just looked so peaceful when she slept.
Kara blinked away from her best friend’s curled form and back to the constellations above, settling on the Coma Berenices Lena insisted on making room for just down from Ursa Major. She replayed the Queen’s story in her head, trying to ignore the fact that, normally, she’d already be curled against Lena’s back with a hand wrapped around her waist and nose pressed to her exposed neck. And normally that would have been met with a small sigh and a hand curled around said arm wrapped around said waist and then maybe - maybe - once the soft, steady breathing meant Lena was asleep, then maybe she’d have normally pressed her lips to her neck as a friendly - platonic - goodnight kiss.
But tonight played out differently than that.
It began like most: Lena came over with a bottle of wine, a bag of take-out, and the soft kind of smile Kara pretended was only ever meant for her.
It continued as usual: they lingered in the kitchen while the bottle was uncorked, the containers were portioned onto plates, and that same soft kind of smile Kara pretended was only ever meant for her lingered behind stories of their days.
It even managed to stay normal through the first thirty minutes of the docuseries: a glass of red was topped-up, the empty plates were stacked on the coffee table, and the soft kind of smile Kara pretended was only ever meant for her was paired with a contented sigh as tucked legs were untucked and extended across Kara’s lap.
And Kara kept it cool as a cucumber. She didn’t overthink the shared blanket wrapped around them or the slip of her hands beneath the soft weave to settle on Lena’s legs or the muscle memory that sent those same hands lightly massaging tight calves or how those same hands wandered and settled where socks and sweats didn’t quite meet or how they danced across the exposed patch of skin or how a yelp of realization flew out of her mouth when she realized what her treacherous hands were doing.
Admittedly, that last bit was not a cool cucumber sort of thing to do. It was more of a ‘having kittens’ moment.
And that’s when the night derailed.
“What’s wrong?” Lena asked a half-standing Kara tripping over the blanket and spilling confused noises from her mouth.
“I-I… I gotta-”
“Go.”
Surprisingly, it only took a moment for Kara’s adrenaline-fueled brain to connect the dots: she glanced at Lena who was glancing out toward the city, face serious and full of intent.
“This can wait; Supergirl can’t,” Lena continued, reaching to pause the show.
And yea, maybe Kara should found her big girl pants and told Lena there wasn’t an emergency and that her super hearing hadn’t picked up some tragedy that needed her attention and that actually it was because the pads of her unreliable fingers were toeing the friendship line and the hilarity of them being fingers and not toes was not lost on Kara but this was not the moment or time for laughing. This was a time for panicking.
So Kara didn’t put on her big girl pants. Instead, she got rid of her pants and flaunted her Supergirl outfit and flew out into the night without so much as a cat to untree.
She kept to the skies until well past the soft murmur of Lena’s heartbeat confirmed a deep slumber before, like the coward she was, Kara crept back into her apartment and settled - floated? hovered - just above the mattress.
And mulled.
She hated lying to Lena. Of all the people in her whole multi-planetary life, Lena’s trust mattered to her the most, yet it was hard to tell the truth about something Kara didn’t even fully understand. Was there something to understand?
Her brow crinkled. It was a crinkle that Alex would poke at and Nia would prod at but one Lena would wipe away with a soft brush. Kara wasn’t quite so gentle. She rubbed her nose a bit too aggressively, and maybe that aggression rattled the air a bit too much because the calm of Lena’s breathing broke and her heart stuttered and curled form unrolled and a pair of sleepy eyes landed on Kara’s still very crinkly face.
“Hey,” and ooph did Lena’s sleep voice hit in ways Kara couldn’t articulate. She didn’t try because a hand had already climbed its way to Kara’s forearm and squeezed. “Everything ok?”
“Yea.”
“You sure? Because… Kara are you floating?”
“I, uh… didn’t want to wake you?”
A soft, sleepy chuckle crawled across the mattress and dragged Kara onto the mattress. “My hero.”
The words tickled Kara’s ears. And other things.
“Everyone safe?” Lena continued, pulling the duvet to cover both of them before finding a home nestled into Kara’s side.
“Mhm,” Kara managed, throat tight, pulse racing, and body temperature sweltering past the surface temperature of the sun.
“Good,” Lena hummed and sighed and tucked closer with a comforting arm slipping onto Kara’s waist.
It took seconds for Lena’s breathing to slow and fall back into a rhythmic slumber. Meanwhile, Kara hardly breathed at all, fighting her natural instinct to squeeze an arm around Lena and in lieu of honoring the line.
The line that had already been crossed. And honestly? Crossing the line felt nice. It felt good. It felt perfect.
So, yea. Kara Zor El, eater of foods, saver of worlds, and, above all else, lover of cuddles, was in a predicament. Because her best friend in the whole world was curled around her and maybe - maybe - Kara wanted to keep crossing the line. Because maybe - maybe - Kara wanted something more.

@periwinkle-the-11th
Warnings: Inappropriate comments, a wee mini smut clip
Original Characters: Stephanie Johnston (a bully), Lilly Parker (another bully), Marjorie (Lena's friend)
Things To Know: It's a college AU, also some inspiration from Fratdaddyo_hara on AO3 specifically the work titled "reward".
••••
Lena took her seat on the -slightly wet from the rain the past days- bleachers. Putting her blanket over her legs as the chill of the night was already settling in. She searched for Kara, finding her fiancée doing warm ups before the football -American- game.
The day she got asked that question was the best day of her life -no one at the college the girls attend knows their getting married, or were even dating- she still remembers that day.
"What are we doing...?" Lena asked as she got lead blindly through the woods. "Are you gonna murder me..?" Kara chuckled behind her and kissed her hair "no" she dragged out the 'o' making Lena laugh as well. Soon Kara moved her hand and now Lena could see the little lakefront she decorated with the help of her sister and friends. "Kara.... It's beautiful" Lena said breathlessly "So are you.."  Kara said. Lena turned and -kinda, eh, lil more than kinda- pounced on her girlfriend, pulling her into a hug and tucking her face in the crook of Karas neck. "I love you too baby" Lena chuckled into her "Cmon!" Lena tugged Kara along as she walked to the little picnic set up. Lena sat down on the blanket laid on the ground, smiling up at Kara as she did the same.
"... So I end this speech with.... Will you marry me..?" Lena was sobbing as she nodded and mumbled the word 'yes', Kara could barely hear her voice through the tears, but she heard. So she hugged her now fiancée, putting the ring on her finger as their foreheads touched and they admired it.
Kara also couldn't take her eyes off it as she thrusted her fingers into Lena. As Lenas hand gripped hers tighter as her orgasm rocked her.
Lena smiled at the memory fiddling with the ring she was able to wear because she was a quiet girl, overlooked, so no one cared if a ring was on that finger.
She soon grimaced when she heard the conversation of the girls sat in front of her.
"Fuck Danvers is hot."
"I know, look at her fingers, fuck imagine those in you"
Lena knew who these girls were. Stephanie Johnston and Lilly Parker. They went to Lena's high school as well, and they still bully her relentlessly. Kara wishes she could punch them but Lena always just says everything is ok and not to worry.
They know about the ring but they think Lena is just so pathetic that she is pretending, and Lena didn't defend herself in fear of revealing her relationship with Kara.
She smirks to herself, looking down at the ringon her finger. She finds it humorous they want to sleep with Kara when the girl they deem as "Pathetic" has that girl wrapped around her finger.
A body sits by her, its Marjorie, of course it is. Marjorie is the girlfriend of one of the offense players, the football team knows about them as the team is Kara's "crew" in their words.
"Hey Lee!"
Steph and Lilly were turn around and smirk when they see her hands.
"Still doing your little pretending act I see"
They laugh and turn around, Marjorie and Lena sharing a knowing look before hiding their laughter.
As the game goes on jealousy bubbles in Lena at the girls in front of her words ring through her head. It was funny at first she thinks.
"Lilly just... just imagine Kara fucking you."
"She definitely talks you through it."
That she does Lena thinks.
"Fuck she's greek goddess built I swear."
"I wonder what kinks she's into."
Praise, a little bondage, dominant sometimes, and a little bit of a daddy kink, but mostly she just does whatever I beg for Lena names off the top of her head.
"I need her strap.. like.... fuck...."
"Fuck shes so hot"
"I could pull her, I know it"
As it goes on the jealousy builds, and by the winning touchdown Kara scores Lena doesn't even jump up, to engrossed in her thoughts.
Once everyone gets through cheering and the announcements end Marjorie gives her a look. "Whats up with you..?" Lena looks up, something clicking as she starts moving a little fast tossing her trash from the concession stand under the bleachers like everyone does, and messily rolling up her blanket and putting her bag and blanket more near Marjorie.
"I need to do something, take this for me?"
Marjorie nods and Lena walks down the bleachers, slow as to not fall again however we don't speak of that.
She goes to the edge of the bleachers and whispers to the coach, he knows Lena well and about her relationship, Lena and Kara babysitting his 3 little girls frequently.
She gets on the field and walks over to Kara, she knows people are staring, frankly, she doesn't care.
Kara sees her and immediately walks over, assuming something's wrong, which already confuses people as they assumed they don't know each other.
"Are you ok baby..?" Kara whispers and Lena nods.
"Kiss me"
"Here.. with all these people..?"
"some people need to know your not up for grabs"
She spits out the word 'people' harshly, making it very clear to Kara who she is referring to.
"Are you one hundred percent sure..?"
Lena nod and Kara nods as well in understanding, leaning down and kissing Lena as everyone in the bleachers starts gasping and shouting in enjoyment.
The kiss is rather gentle, with some anger from the jealously coming from Lena, soon drowned out by the gentleness of Kara.
They pull away and Kara hugs Lena pulling her to the exit of the field. Grabbing Karas things from the locker room and Lenas things from Marjorie before they go home.
That night Lena is showing very clearly those girls comments amount to nothing in Karas eyes, shown in a way that includes the violent shake of her legs while their held down by Karas hands, and broken pleads that fall from her lips.

Excellent  Rhythm (mini fic)
Karadox-  an example of Brainy’s excellent rhythm
The night was getting colder and Kara’s apartment was getting warmer as she and Brainy had just finished another movie. They had watched Snow White and had just finished watching Singing in the rain. Kara had pulled a blanket onto her herself and placed part of it across Brainy, neither of them needed it for warmth but Kara liked the comfort it provided and connection was something Brainy enjoyed no matter how small.
‘So what did you think.’
‘It was...well crafted and pasted very expertly, the music and staging worked and did not over shadow the story.’
‘so you liked it.’
‘Yes I did.’
Kara sat up and the blanket fell from her shoulders down to her waist.
‘I have always had a soft spot for musicals but the romances did fade a little after that whole Music Meister thing with Barry.’
Brainy then sat to mirror her position.
‘Yes Mon el did tell me about that. it was rather interesting story, I was not sure if Mon el was pulling my leg when told it to me.’
‘No, no it happened and it was...different to say the lest. but i have to say Barry sure can dance.’
‘Dance, you danced with him.’
he did not say it in a jealous way or controlling way but a confused a why was it necessary way.
‘Yes I did, and I was surprised with how good he was but Barry is Barry.’
Brainy was silent for a moment then stood up, he paced around Kara’s coffee table and pulled it to the right side of the couch and moved the other two chairs opposite the couch back to the wall. Kara just watched him, she knew he was planning something but she knew better than to ask.
Brainy then put his hands together in an all to familiar formation bowed his head slightly and suddenly music started playing. Brainy then stood in front of Kara and held out his hand. Kara was taken aback by this
‘what are you doing?’
‘Well Mr Allen is not the only one who can dance and I have been told I have excellent rhythm, would you like a demonstration .’
‘Yes I would very much like that.’
Kara would never pass up the chance to see brainy do something he would not typically do. Not to see him fail but to see the span of his interest no matter how out of character it seemed because at his core Brainy loved learning more than anything else and loved shearing it with people. that never fails to make Kara happy the passion he has and wanting to share it makes her feel like her heart is glowing, an old habit form when she was first learning about earth.
Kara smiled and then took his hand and he pulled her up. Brainy still holding her hand bent her arm to match his and put his other hand gently on her waist . Kara then placed her other hand on his shoulder. he was not as stiff as she expected him to be but rather he was relaxed and loose. the music was not as classical as she thought it would be either it took her a second to recognize the song. It was Radio Ga Ga by Queen.
then he started to guide her with his hands ever so gently side to side moving to the beat. he then took a step back that pulled her forward still swaying her softly. this gentle back and forward went on until Brainy pulled Kara in closer there noises almost touched he then removed his arm from her waist and than started to spin her around slowly until her back was on his chest he swayed them both in place for a moment. he then took her other hand and raised both of them above her head and turned her to face him again. Kara then pulled there hands back and forward and let go of one of Brainy’s hands before twirling him around quickly making them both smile. they then picked up the pace as Kara took the lead bending lower, turning faster and stepping more repeatedly both of them smiling breathlessly. until Brainy pulled her closer to him this time both hands holding the small of her back as Kara placed her hands around his neck. the steps between them getting smaller, Kara put her forehead onto his both still smiling there steps getting slower and slower until they are just moving in place. the song slowly ended and they stood there for a few more moments holding each other.

Back in the Saddle
Midvale, a few weeks post-Phantom Zone. In an attempt to remaster the powers Kara spent months without, she and her two most important people make a road trip home to test her flight.
Or, I just want Kara to be able to fly for the joy of it the way Clark did in Man of Steel.
Read with “Flight” by Hans Zimmer playing. You won’t regret it.
/////
Lena knows the moment Kara emerges from the house up on the ridge. Alex’s eyes flick up, back down, then up again in quick succession. An entirely smug grin alights her face before she pointedly looks back down at her tablet.
“We’re going to have to have a talk about your affinity for making my sister new suits at some point, Luthor,” she says.
Lena feels her face heat up. “No idea what you mean.”
“Sure you don’t.”
Lena scoffs. “She needed a new one,” she hisses at the smirking elder Danvers. “The one she had was wrecked and there was no fixing it.”
“Agreed,” Alex allows, smile growing. “But this is what? The fourth one you’ve made for her?”
“One other! With upgrades!”
“Mmhmm.” Alex types a few more things into the tablet. Pulls out a USB and plugs it into the side. “Sure.”
Lena feels her face go hot. “What are you insinuating, Alex?”
Alex shrugs. “Not insinuating anything,” she says. She glances back up and smiles some more. “Just thinking you’re making a habit of making suits for Kara and I kind of appreciate it.”
At Lena’s questioning look, Alex elaborates. “Winn made her first one,” she says. “And yeah, it did the job, but it was-“ she waves her hand in a so-so gesture, wincing- “not the best. Prone to wardrobe malfunctions.”
Lena snorts. “Patriarchy.”
“Fuck ‘em,” Alex agrees with a playful two finger salute.
After a shared grin with Lena, her eyes travel back to where Kara must have made it down to the beach. “They’ve all protected her, the suits you’ve made,” Alex says. Her voice has gone quiet. Gone is the light teasing. She holds Lena’s eyes for a moment. “And I... can’t tell you how much that means to me.”
Lena’s eyes suddenly mist over, and her throat works against the lump that forms there.
Alex looks pointedly back down at her tablet, where she pulls up a video feed from one of the comm pieces resting on the boulder she’s made her impromptu HQ desk. She clears her throat. “I’ve never made sure you knew that. So. Now I’m telling you.”
Lena absolutely refuses to cry, but fuck if it doesn’t take a Herculean effort. She wrestles with the hot gratitude and affection boiling in her chest as Alex fiddles with the settings on the camera feed.
Alex glances up again, and her smile turns warm in a way Lena knows is reserved only for her sister. “Looking good, sis,” she calls. “Little weird without the cape, though.”
“Thanks! Lena made it!” Kara chirps from behind Lena. “Even has pockets! And yeah, I was going to ask you about that. Is there no cape, Lena?”
She barely dares to turn, but Alex is giving her one hell of a challenging look, and she’s still a Luthor.
And Luthors never back down from a challenge.
She turns her face just enough to look over her shoulder and immediately curses that particular Luthor trait.
Sure, she made the suit. But that in no way prepares her for what it looks like when it’s wrapped around Kara. The dark blue, almost black throws her golden hair, shimmering in the late sun, in sharp relief. The smooth material sweeps over the dips and curves of her shoulders and biceps, the dip in the high collar exposing slightly below the hollow of her throat. She approaches silently on the sand, the soft and supple deep maroon boots smooth and soundless. Lena had left the pants a little loose, a little more comfortable, but that did nothing to hide the muscle that bunches and releases rhythmically as Kara walks across the sand.
And she’s looking quizzically at Lena. Head slightly titled, blue eyes somehow even bluer against the darkness of her suit, the blue and red accents, and the reddish tint of the setting sun.
Lena rips her eyes away from the subtle dips in Kara’s abs and desperately wracks her brain to remember what question was asked of her.
“Cape, Lena?” Alex prompts with a shit eating grin.
“Right,” Lena coughs. She turns fully to meet Kara, hand already pointing to the belt slung diagonally across Kara’s chest. “I figured, since you’re not wanting to be in the limelight just yet, I should make it a bit more understated,” Lena explains. “Did you see the crest on your left shoulder?”
“Yeah,” Kara nods. “I like that it’s so small.”
“Press it.”
Kara’s eyes dance with curiosity, not leaving Lena’s, as she reaches up to press on the tiny S affixed to the dark brown leather.
At the press of Kara’s fingers, the nanites immediately begin to crawl across the suit, gathering and extending down her back and around her chest in a long, deep maroon cloak. Kara lets out a startled sound of delight, swishing the thick material and stroking at it with near reverence.
“More nanites?” Alex smirks.
Lena shrugs, tossing the elder Danvers a smirk of her own. “I mean, I do have an MO at this point. No sense in ditching it.”
“It’s great!” Kara exclaims. She swishes the cloak again, grinning happily. “I can put it away if I want! This would have saved me so many headaches years ago!”
She bounces over to Lena and wraps her up in a warm hug. “Thank you,” she says quietly. Only for Lena. “I love it.”
Lena squeezes her around the back, hands fisting in the material of the cloak, feeling herself flush with happiness. “I’m glad,” she whispers.
“That’s actually a pretty good idea, Lena,” Alex says as they break apart. She’s back at the tablet, tapping and looking over some sort of read out. “She was always complaining how the cape got in the way.”
Lena arches an eyebrow at Kara. “What about your cape tricks?”
Kara grimaces. “Much less useful than I was led to believe.”
Alex snorts. “Understatement of the century,” she mutters. “Okay,” she strides over to a Kara and gently fits a comm around her ear. “That has a GPS and camera built in. We’ll be able to see what you see, know where you are, monitor vitals-“
Kara makes a face. “Wait, if you can track me, couldn’t someone else?”
Lena shakes her head. “The crest has signals built in to interfere with radar. Any signal that’s not Alex’s will get scrambled to cloak you.”
Kara surges forward for another hug, and over her shoulder Lena sees Alex smile with an exasperated shake of her head.
“Always protecting,” she mutters.
“What, Alex?” Kara asks as she lets Lena go and takes a step back.
“Nothing,” Alex says. She inputs a few more commands on the tablet, then looks up at Kara. “So. You ready?”
Lena glances over to Kara for what she thinks will be a quick confirmation.
But in those brief seconds, Kara’s easy smile and eager brightness had darkened.
In the red glow of the sun, she stands with her face tilted upward. She gazes at the sky with unfiltered longing, but her hands are trembling. Her whole being quivers, wound tight like a spring, as if she wants nothing more than to hurl herself up to the clouds. But there’s a tightness in her eyes, something there that just... won’t let her. She just stands there, shaking, looking up with haunted eyes.
Alex reaches out, rests a hand on Kara’s forearm. “Hey,” she murmurs. “You don’t have to do anything crazy. Whatever you’re ready for is all you have to do. The rest will follow.”
Kara nods, but still she hesitates. “But what if- what happens if I can’t- I mean-“
“I caught you floating in your sleep two nights ago,” Lena says gently and Kara’s eyes - desperate, scared eyes - whip to hers. “You can do this. But only if you’re ready to. Okay?”
The near manic desperation in Kara’s eyes cools as they hold each other’s gaze. She squeezes Alex’s hand, takes a breath, and nods resolutely.
“Yeah, yeah,” she mutters, giving her shoulders a shake. “I’m good. I’m okay.”
Alex squeezes her arm, then lets go. “Whenever you’re ready.”
Kara has her eyes on the sky again, gives her shoulders one more fortifying shake. She flexes her hands, rubs them on her pants once. She glances over at Lena and seems to brighten at the reassuring smile Lena gives her.
“Okay,” she breathes. “Here goes nothing.”
She stills, closes her eyes. Breathes in deep, then lets it out slow.
She breathes once more, the tense lines of her face relaxing.
Silently, her feet leave the sand.
Alex reaches over for Lena’s arm and grasps it tightly.
Eyes still closed, Kara rises higher in the air, straight up. She turns in gentle circles as she ascends, up and above the ridge.
Alex is looking over the read-outs on the tablet, eyes darting back and forth with near frantic energy. “Looking good so far, Kara,” she says distractedly. “Vitals are good. You’re at a hundred feet now.”
“Feels good,” comes Kara’s voice through the comms. “I’m not even trying.”
Alex’s smile is so proud Lena wants to cry. “That’s good, kid. That’s so good. Two hundred feet now.”
Alex is still gripping Lena’s arm painfully tight, but she’s rocking up on her toes happily, shooting Lena fervent looks of pure joy.
“Knew you could do it, Kara,” Lena says into her own comms, taking Alex’s hand away from her arm but keeping ahold of it. She squeezes as tight as her own bubbling pride allows.
Kara’s finally in the air. She’s flying. It’s one more step closer to conquering the giant mountain they’ve been climbing since she got back.
“How high now, Alex? I’m not looking.”
Alex glances at the screen, then up towards where Kara is becoming a dark dot among the clouds. “A thousand feet. Still feeling good?”
“Yeah. Really good, actually.”
“Have you opened your eyes yet?” Alex’s voice is teasing.
“No. What if I’m suddenly afraid of heights?” Her voice is childishly whiny, drawing a chuckle out of Alex and Lena.
Lena glances down at the video feed from Kara’s earpiece and has to stop herself from gasping.
“Kara, I think you should open your eyes,” she says slightly breathlessly.
“I’m gonna fall if I do,” comes Kara’s tight reply.
Alex is also staring at the camera feed, watching as the view of the water recedes farther toward the bottom of the screen as Kara rises higher and higher. “Kara, you want to see it,” she says. “Trust us.”
Lena knows the exact moment Kara opens her eyes. There’s a tiny gasp through the comms, and the camera arrests in place. Locked on to the brilliance of the shimmering water, the watercolor of the clouds in the light of the setting sun.
For a moment, Kara hangs motionless in the air.
Alex is anxiously tightening and loosening her grip on Lena’s hand. Looking up to where Kara is barely a speck in the sky, back to the camera, then back up again.
“Kara?” she says, a small break in her voice. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” comes Kara’s breathless voice. “Yeah, no, I’m good.”
There’s another moment of silence, then “It’s breathtaking. I... I’d almost forgotten-“ her voice cracks, and she clears her throat -“How beautiful this planet is.”
Alex squeezes Lena’s hand so tight it hurts, and Lena brings her free hand to grip at Alex’s forearm.
Alex sniffles, swipes her eyes against her shoulder. “It has its moments,” she rasps.
For a few long moments, they three stay silent. Lena and Alex on the ground, clutching at hands and arms in barely restrained joy with the waves lapping nearby.
And Kara, so high they can’t even see her, hanging in midair. Silent save for her gentle, easy breathing and the wind whistling around her.
And then, so suddenly both Lena and Alex flinch, she huffs a breath.
“Wanna see how fast I can get around the world?”
Alex barks a laugh, exchanging a fond and relieved look with Lena. “Your record is what? Thirty four seconds?”
“I can beat that,” comes the cocky reply.
And god, she sounds so happy.
Alex scoffs. “If you say so.”
Lena pulls out her phone and sets up a stopwatch. “On my mark, then?” she says.
“Don’t break anything, Kara,” Alex warns, though there’s no bite in her voice.
“And don’t break that suit,” Lena chimes in.
Kara’s voice has a tiny edge of Supergirl - the first since the Phantom Zone - when she replies. “Nothing’s getting broken here except the sound barrier.”
A shiver shoots down Lena’s spine. She does her best to ignore why.
“In three, two, one-“ she taps her phone- “Go.”
BOOM!
The noise vibrates through Lena’s chest. High above, the sky seems to part for Kara as she rockets towards the sun, leaving a trail in her wake.
Lena and Alex crowd the screen, watching wide-eyed as the ocean zips by far below, clouds whipping past, the camera quivering with the breakneck speed.
“Oh my god,” Lena murmurs almost by accident.
On the screen, a dark line of land rapidly approaches on the horizon as Kara hurtles toward it.
“That’ll be Japan,” Alex mumbles. She checks the read-outs and nods to herself. “Vitals are still good. Heart rate’s a little elevated, but considering-“ she gestures to the screen with a wry smile.
Lena nods, barely holding back happy tears.
On screen, Kara slows just enough for the sound to come back. Air whistles through the comms, her breathing slightly labored, and she ducks her head to watch the cities blink far below.
She won’t break her record by slowing like this, but Lena doesn’t mention that. And neither does Alex. They just watch as Kara picks up speed again, camera angling strangely as she dives.
She shoots west, weaving in huge slalom turns. The camera angles and tilts as she looks across the water, across the trees and grasslands and mountains as she passes them. Cities and towns flash past like street lights on a highway.
On the screen, her GPS tracks her through the rest of Asia, across India and into Africa. It’s a far cry from the speed she’d shot off at, but she doesn’t seem to mind as she dips and rolls through the clouds, hand outstretched as if to catch the swirling vapors.
Once she reaches the distant coast, Kara dips so low her hand reaches out to skim the water. She sails over the waves, fingers dragging, until she finds a pod of dolphins playing in the white water. For a moment, she flies just above the waves with them as they leap and dance.
The camera jerks toward the sky, and Kara gives a loud, delighted whoop as she shoots upwards. Spinning and spinning so fast the camera is blurring with the speed.
And through it all, Kara is laughing. Huge, joyous belly laughs, arms outstretched and head thrown back as she sails back into the clouds.
At 40,000 feet, she slows her ascent. Like a ball tossed in the air, she hovers at a stop for a split second before she starts to plummet. She turns, belly down and arms outstretched as the ocean rushes to meet her.
Still laughing with outrageous joy.
“God I missed that,” Alex murmurs. Her voice quivers and breaks.
Lena doesn’t take her eyes away from the screen. She doesn’t want to miss a single moment of this. But she does give Alex’s hand a squeeze in agreement.
Because hearing that laugh, being here and watching as Kara rolls and dives through the air, is healing pieces of Lena’s heart that she didn’t think would ever even scab over.
Kara’s joy is infectious, like it had always been. And Lena finds that she’s soaking it in like a woman parched.
On screen, Kara shoots off with another mighty BOOM. Her GPS shows her hurtling across the US at breakneck speed.
“Not even close to her record,” Alex laughs wetly. “Guess we’ll have to try again later.”
Lena swipes her hand under her eyes with a chuckle, catching tears that neither of them really acknowledge.
And seconds later, Kara lands with a muffled thump. Sand flies under her feet, and the ground trembles.
But her face is flushed, smile radiant, eyes glistening with tears.
Alex takes a step toward her, but pauses. “You okay?”
Kara gives a sobbing laugh, gestures helplessly with her hands. But her smile is wondrous.
Alex surges forward and wraps her in a tight hug. Kara clutches back, hands buried in her sister’s jacket and face pressed against her shoulder.
After a moment, one hand reaches out, fingers wiggling invitingly.
Lena takes that hand in both of hers and holds on tight. Over Alex’s shoulder, Kara’s eyes crinkle with her smile, sparkling and overwhelmed. She squeezes Lena’s hand, then tucks her eyes against her sister’s shoulder with a huge breath.
In a way, Lena feels as if they’re all breathing that same breath of relief.
“I wanna go again.” Kara’s voice is muffled adorably against Alex’s jacket.
Alex chuckles and rocks Kara back and forth happily. “We can stay out here as long as you want.”
Kara nods. “’Kay,” she says. But she holds on to Alex tighter, fingers digging into her jacket. “But in a minute, okay?”
Alex nods. Presses a kiss to the side of Kara’s head. “In a minute.”
And that seems to suit all three of them just fine. No one’s quite ready to let go yet.

I'm a sucker for the angst just as much as the next nerd but I needed them to just... be happy and together. Just for a moment.

Howdy! For the little au trope prompt ask. 2, 2, 39. Supercorp please. Thank you! (Hope it helps your writer's block!)
Everyone knows that when the Quidditch season starts, rivalries begin.
As a general rule, Lena doesn’t mind the Gryffindors. If she had to pick a house she hated, the Slytherins would be the unfortunate lot; Veronica Sinclair and Andrea Rojas alone give the group a bad name. (That could be Lena’s own personal bias, given the fact that both girls have broken her heart, but she maintains it goes far deeper than that). But the point stands—Lena isn’t a hateful person. Generally.
There is just something about Kara Danvers that brings it out of her. The one and only Gryffindor that Lena despises is that moronic, reckless Chaser who scores nearly every single goal she takes. The Ravenclaw team is nothing to sneeze at either, but Lena hates that of all people to throw her off her game, it is a girl who blew up her broom when attempting to fly on it during her first year. Seven years that she has known Kara, and still Lena is annoyed at the mere sight of those perpetually-askew glasses, those untucked robes, that undone tie; Kara Danvers is never expected to be poised and perfect, even with all the expectations on her shoulders. She’s just so...blasé. People talk about Kara like she is destined to join a Quidditch team straight out of Hogwarts and all Kara does is stroll into the Great Hall on game day with her head in the clouds.
So far up the clouds that she apparently can’t watch where she is going, either. Lena throws Kara the nastiest glare she can muster when they just about knock each other’s heads together, but all Kara does at the sight of it is grin. She always grins, not in a way that is arrogant or snide, but stupidly amused. Stupidly amused, as if everything Lena says or does is a bloody laugh, like Lena’s simmering hatred is nothing more than an inside joke.
“Hey, Luthor,” Kara says cheerfully, and there she goes, pushing those crooked glasses up her nose. There is a scratch on one lens, and Kara has either not noticed or not bothered to repair it. “Trying to take out the competition a little early, even for you.”
“You were the one in my way, Danvers,” Lena replies tightly.
“Was I?” And here is the kicker, that golden girl charm that fools everyone: bright blue eyes peeking out beneath those eyelashes, hand rubbing at the back of her neck, undone tie slipping an inch further. Kara tilts her head unassumingly as if that is even an actual question.
It makes Lena furious. “Here’s a tip,” she says, “for here and the Quidditch field. Maybe if you got your head out of your ass, you could actually see where you’re headed.”
Kara has the audacity to look affronted. “Is this because of the Brainy incident during training? Because he and I agreed that it was a joint effort. Joint…blame. Whatever you call it.”
Lena rolls her eyes. “Just keep your aggression to yourself, Danvers,” she mutters, and then she resolutely brushes past. She has no time for blank, witty banter, especially when this is the year’s first game and she has a team to rally.
“My—? Hey,” Kara’s voice rings out, louder than necessary, and that idiot is actually following her. “Hey, wait. Lena. Do you seriously think I’m aggressive? It was an accident! Both times!” A beat. “I mean both the Brainy thing and right now. I didn’t knock into Brainy twice. I did knock James off his broom once, but you probably don’t care about that since he’s not from your house, so…well anyway, just so you know, that was also an accident.”
“I have zero interest in your training squabbles,” Lena says exasperatedly, “and you’d do well to keep that in mind.”
“Oh so this is about the Brainy incident,” Kara says. “How many times do I have to say that the training pitch was ours?”
“According to you,” Lena counters. With that she whirls around, nearly colliding into Kara’s chest, but she still manages to lift her head up high and stare down that egotistical jackass. “I know you might think you’re entitled to any space you waltz into, but some of us mere mortals actually schedule training sessions. You know, like we’re supposed to.”
“I did schedule the—!” Kara has a tendency to become flustered mid-argument, it seems, because her mouth opens but no words come blustering out. Finally she settles on scowling when she declares, “You are a piece of work, you know that? Would it kill you to apologize to me once in a while?”
“That would imply that you have apologized to me at some point,” Lena scoffs. “Which you haven’t, for the record.”
“Yes I have,” Kara is quick to disagree.
Lena crosses her arms; it’s a challenge, and Kara immediately stands a little straighter when she notices. “Oh?” Lena prompts. “Like when?”
“Like…when I knocked into Brainy.”
“I fail to see how I fit in that scenario,” Lena says, “since you didn’t break my nose.”
Kara gives a little huff, as if this back and forth is all so inconvenient right now; as if she hasn’t instigated it. “Okay, but I apologized for disrupting your practice, remember? I took complete responsibility even though it was your fault you couldn’t keep track of when your team was scheduled—”
“That was not an apology. You literally said ‘Sorry Luthor, we need this more than you do’ and then refused to leave for the next half hour!”
“But I said sorry in there, ergo, it is an apology.”
“Well then, when my team beats yours to dust I’ll be sure to apologize properly for that in that exact same sympathetic manner,” Lena sneers.
Somehow, trash talk only makes that dumb, signature Kara Danvers grin come back, completely wiping away any sign of vexation. “Oh yeah? Tell me more, wise old Ravenclaw—”
Before Lena can even begin to dissect that childish comeback (and stupid sing-songy imitation of the Sorting Hat), other students come filtering down the hall and they are practically swept up in the masses. One kid completely shoulders Lena before she even realizes what’s happening; she stumbles to the left, nearly collides with the wall, and opens her mouth to shout, but then:
“Hey!” Kara is already brandishing her wand with one hand and catching the boy’s collar with the other. “Ten points from Hufflepuff! You could’ve hurt someone, walking around without looking where you’re going.”
Lena bites her tongue to stop from making a quip on how ironic that statement is, because Kara is engrossed in a stare-off with the pimply sixth year who is demanding to see her prefect badge to prove Kara can even take points. She would normally side with the kid—anything to knock Kara Danvers down a peg—but, well. For once, Lena can’t be bothered to actively hate someone getting into a heated argument on her behalf.
Two minutes later and the boy stomps off with ten points gone from his house and a detention to boot. Kara, meanwhile, is still frowning as he leaves. “Are you okay?” she asks absentmindedly, still tracking the kid’s every movement with her eyes. “I swear, if there weren’t so many witnesses I would’ve hexed him.”
“Winning move for a prefect, I’m sure,” Lena says dryly, and Kara turns towards her with that slow-growing buffoonish smile and another sheepish nudge of her glasses. Her next words kind of just fall out, almost as if she’d never formed them in her mouth but in the deep recesses of her subconscious alone: “You know, you confuse me.”
“Huh?” Another nudge. The smile slips a fraction, but just enough to show Kara is slightly confused by the change in subject.
You confuse me, Lena wants to repeat. You are the opposite of self-aware. You are messy, and reckless, and selfless whenever it counts and it’s confusing because all I can really hate you for is being able to get away with being imperfect and still be adored by everyone.
But none of those words, thankfully, leave her head. All she says is, “Your approach to discipline confuses me. It’s not like he purposely tried to run into me—ten points might have been too harsh.”
“This coming from the girl who once threatened to curse me into oblivion for tripping her when we were twelve?” Kara’s eyebrows shoot up. “Who are you and what have you done to Lena Luthor? No, hold on, I know. You’re really Jess in disguise, right?”
“Hilarious, Danvers. I wouldn’t quit Quidditch, it might be the only place you’re suited for,” Lena mocks, but all Kara does is laugh.
“Nope, definitely Lena,” Kara says, and the way she says it is almost…fond. Come to think of it, Lena can’t remember a time where Kara actually called her Lena. It’s always Luthor and Danvers and stop breaking the faces of my best players and never—never anything else.
Lena clears her throat and looks away; she can’t take another second of those warm, bright eyes. “Whatever,” she says. “I…guess I’ll see you on the pitch.”
“Sure thing,” Kara says, and she takes a step back, tucking her wand into her pocket. “I’ll be the one rocking the winning team uniform.”
Slowly, Lena begins to feel the corner of her mouth twitch. Completely unbidden, completely unpredictable. “Dream on, Danvers.” She allows the space between them to grow, but their eyes remain locked, and the air feels heavy—thick—and the weight of their shared gaze holds a meaning Lena can’t possibly unpack right now.
But Kara’s tongue pokes out between her teeth cheerfully, and she doesn’t appear half as bothered by this development. “Always, if you’re in them,” she says, twists a little on her heel to walk away, but she pauses while she is still in earshot. “You know—next time you can just thank me for defending you.”
“You mean abusing your power as a prefect,” Lena replies automatically even as her head is running a mile a minute; even as Kara is getting farther and farther away and the scratch on her glasses lens catches the light.
“That too!” Kara shouts as she gets lost in the crowd, and damn her, Lena has to put her hand over her mouth to hide the absolute idiotic smile that has formed on her own face.
(Joint blame indeed, Lena muses, and she figures that she might as well form a rivalry with the Slytherins instead of the Gryffindors after all).

Okay, so after last night’s episode I would just like to say that Supercorp IS Endgame. I’d also like to point out the various reasons as to why Kara and Lena are not only soulmates but true twin flames.
For those reading this post who have never heard of the term twin flame: “A twin flame is your own soul, shared across what appears to be two physical beings. It’s one soul, split into two bodies.” -Google’s definition.
For those who are spiritually inclined and have a proclivity for indulging esoteric philosophies; Lena and Kara are ABSOLUTELY twin FUCKING flames 🔥🔥🔥!!
Here are the reasons why:
1. Their drastically different childhoods that resulted in remarkably similar trauma.
Both Kara and Lena have experienced great loss throughout their life. Both mourned the death of their parents, and life as they knew it, at a very early age. Both were shipped off to a foreign land, forced to leave behind everything they knew, in hopes for a brighter/safer future.
Albeit, Lena got the shorter end of the stick in regards to unconditional love, but both were given a second chance and a new start...and yet, they still never fit in, or felt like they truly belonged.
Although they individually have dealt with said trauma in different ways (Lena by pushing away those who try to get too close, and Kara by holding on tightly to those she holds dear) both of their actions are motivated by the same subconscious fear that they HAVE never and WILL never TRULY belong. All while yearning for a sense of “home”.
2. They are opposite reflections of each other; true “mirror souls”, if you will.
Physically, aesthetically, economically, and emotionally—they are complete “mirrors” of one another.
Kara is strong, physically powerful, cut from marble, all hard edges and sharp lines—except for her face. Lena is clearly not as physically powerful, she is soft, all curves, and exudes the grace of the Devine feminine energy—except for her face, which is hard edges and sharp jaw lines. You see what I’m saying?
Aesthetically and economically go hand in hand of course. Lena’s exorbitant wealth is evident in her high-end designer appearance; whereas Kara’s aesthetic is more humble and grounded, and prioritizes comfort over “fashion”. (Let’s admit it. Some of Kara’s fashion choices have been questionable. She clearly rocks the chinos and button-downs better than anything else in that eclectic closet of hers she refuses to come out of 😏)
Emotionally...oh honey. Do I need to say more? I won’t say much but I will say this: Kara is the sun and Lena is the moon. They compliment each other in a way that ensures the world keeps turning.
3. Their individual strengths are the other’s individual weakness and vice versa.
Goes along with the aforementioned “opposite reflection” point above but I’ll expand a bit further in regards to their specific personality traits.
Lena is predominately analytically driven, whereas Kara is emotionally driven. Lena is good in crowds, Kara is not (overwhelmed). Lena is introverted, Kara is extroverted. Lena is detail oriented and has the memory of an elephant, Kara is clumsy and as forgetful as a Pisces (but hey, she has a lot on her plate and barely any free time to balance it). Lena eats like a rabbit-bird-hybrid and Kara eats like a garbage disposal. Kara loves giving and receiving hugs and other forms of physical affection whereas Lena does not (UNLESS it’s from Kara, of course). Etc. Etc. you get the picture.
4. Now this one is the DEAD GIVEAWAY. Undeniable, irrefutable PROOF that Lena and Kara are twin flames.
They are LITERALLY completing what is know as the Twin Flame Journey or the Twin Flame Union.
The stages of Twin Flame Union are roughly as follows:
1. Yearning for “the one”. I think every human being that believes in love experiences this whether it’s throughout their entire life, or only their adult life until they meet this person but yeah. You get it. Kara has always wanted that “Wapow!” moment.
2. Glimpsing/meeting “the one”. Whether it’s only for a short moment, an extended meeting, or perhaps merely locking eyes with them as you pass each other by...you feel immediately connected. There is an instant soul recognition when meeting them, so much so that you could have sworn you’ve met them before or that it’s as if you’ve known each other your whole lives.
Remember when Kara met Lena? And she was gaga-eyed over Lena? Or when Lena felt so comfortable around a new acquaintance that she granted an almost stranger unbridled access to her office? Or how about when Red Daughter flew to America (the country she was taught to hate), with no recollection/memories of Kara’s relationship with Lena (again, the woman she was taught to hate), all because she felt PULLED to do so. And then when she did meet Lena she looked at her and practically drooled over her as if Lena was a double XL cheeseburger with extra special sauce from Big Belly Burger? Like, biiiitch 👀
3. Falling in love. Need I say more? Fine, again, I will. You CANNOT tell me that there is no way in hell that these two morons are anything BUT in love with each other. That’s a lot of double negatives and I appplogize so let me reiterate for clarification: THEY ARE IN LOVE AND YOU CAN’T CHANGE MY MIND!
And at this point is it so freaking BEYOND platonic love, the show cannot explain it away or sweep it under the “just close friends” rug. No. Kara used her Fifth Dimensional Wish (she literally could have wished her entire planet didn’t explode) and she said “make Lena not mad at me, I’m sad 😔” 👀. Mmmkay. Not to mention Lena picking Supergirl over Jack, her former lover. Or the plethora of other times Lena chose Kara/Supergirl over everyone else she knew. Mmkay.
4. The fairytale relationship/friendship. Lena has finally found someone she can depend on, be vulnerable with, support her without judgement, trust with her life etc. and Kara has finally found a true best friend, not her sister, not Kenny who she didn’t realize was her best friend till after he passed? And now he’s not dead?? But her one true best friend that she felt she didn’t need to be neither Supergirl, nor Kara Danvers, but rather Kara Zor-El around (despite Lena not knowing that little tidbit of information).
They were each other’s best friend. Each other’s person. They were happy.
5. Outer Turmoil and Inner Purging—Supergirl and Lena fight. Lena still does not know that Kara is indeed Supergirl and does not pick up on the brewing tension between herself and Kara.
Kara of course is riddled with guilt and her relationship with Lena becomes strained. This outer turmoil creates inner purging by bringing out negative traits in each other. I.E. Lena hiding kryptonite and also Kara asking James to spy on her. Shit gets messy but they still try to make it work.
6. The Runner and the Chaser/Separation Stage—Tensions mount between the two and Lena FINALLY learns about Kara’s secret. And she has a choice to make. So what does she do? She runs. Not physically but emotionally. She completely withdraws from not only Kara and their friends but also withdraws from herself.
She literally experiences cognitive dissonance and becomes someone she is not. Someone other people made her believe she was on the inside, even though Kara knows that it isn’t. And so, Kara chases her.
Lena becomes the runner and Kara becomes the chaser as they navigate this separation stage.
Continuously running and continuously chasing.
7. The Surrender and dissolution stage—they’re fucking done. They’re tired. They’re exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally after all the bullshit they put each other through as well as all the bullshit Lex and the Phantom Zone put them through.
They come to an impasse in regards to Lex and realize the only way to defeat him is to work together, as a team. (El Mayarah anyone?)
They surrender to their emotions and to each other as their egos dissolve and their souls expand after having learned invaluable life lessons. The major one being: THEY CANNOT LIVE HAPPILY WITHOUT EACH OTHER!
8. The last stage that we have yet to see but we fucking better or else I’m gonna January 6 the CW studio building—“Oneness”.
This time, I’m not gonna say more.
So, in conclusion: Supercorp is Endgame because Lena Luthor and Kara Zor-El Danvers are the literal definition of a twin flame, soulmate connection. They are the same soul, manifested in two physical forms, for the sole purpose of expanding their soul’s consciousness.
They deserve to be happy, they deserve to be together. Not only does their union parallel some of the greatest love stories throughout history, i.e. Romeo and Juliet, Darcy and Bennet, Superman and Lois (duh) it would also break the curse of generational karma and illustrate to anybody who watches the show that the only person who defines who you are is YOU. Not a name, not a legacy, not society’s expectations, YOU. And most importantly of ALL...it would showcase that love truly does conquer all.
I rest my case.
TPTB, make Supercorp Endgame or kick rocks ✌️😘
Sincerely,
An empassioned fan with way too much time on her hands.

The smell of fries and burgers invaded your nose as you sat on the floor, glancing at your sore hand. Your legs extended on the floor as you held your head against the column of the place. The uncomfortable ache on your hand had seemed to increase by the second, as you sat down.
Confusion was the main thing in your head, the confused heavy feeling in your chest when you close your eyes, the twisted and ached void confusing you when reality sets in. It felt like a war between your mind and heart that neither of the two you understand. It felt like the reasons that your brain had were now gone, the reason part of feeling nonexistent.
“Didn't think I would see you so soon” You claimed when you felt the presence of the brunette behind you. Two bags in her hand as the archer sat beside you.
Thea replied teasingly, and flirtatiously grabbing fries from her bag, after hitting you softly in the shoulder. “Neither did I, princess”
“Thanks” You whispered as you started to eat, both of you sharing a knowing and somewhat comforting. The Queen woman smiled and kept silent giving you a nod.
Thea had known you for a long time, but not until three years ago she saw you as her older brother’s best friend. She and Talia had taught every skill, you needed and wanted to learn. She had seen you put all of your anger everywhere you could. You were there subtly with alcohol after every break-up and make-up she had with Roy, showing your care as you sat with her drinking in silence until she couldn't anymore.
The small creek sound of the door took both of your attention. Your mother stood silently with a white medical kit in her hand and an understanding expression on her face. You glanced at the brunette beside you, meeting her glance. A small spark in her eyes which you had never noticed before, you stopped in your way to comment on it when you heard the knowing clearing throat of your Mother.
“Can I come in?” The Queen woman smiled reassuringly before leaving the room. Your mother stood at the side of the door, watching curiously and carefully before speaking.
You looked up and met her eye glance, giving her a small nod as you spoke almost inaudible. “Sure”
Your mother had been making the small notes, and remainders when she saw you. She couldn't lie about the fact that her heart joined in joy and broke in less than 24 hours. It had been difficult to maintain a straight face when your oldest sister called her explaining the situation, letting her know and Jeremiah that after days of trying, they were the last option to bring some feelings to you.
She saw your father way too comfortable yet nervous when they got the news, the trip had been too questioning and secretive that she suspected something had happened with the two of you. But seeing you with her own eyes as you stood in the room with void eyes, and rage protecting your walls.
The complete silence from your party told her more than you knew. The isolation, the hidden pain, the calm and silence. It all reflected in one thing and it was you trying to understand your feelings, your world, yourself. It had happened when your dad had supposedly died. The heavy feeling in her chest grew as she sat beside you, while you stared at the wall quietly debating with your thoughts and feelings.
Flashback - February 2005
You sat in the backyard of the house, dressed in black attire. Your eyes watching over the waves as they ended in the sand. The way the breeze moved the palms and softly touched your face. Your hands gripping the blanket covering you.
You waited for everything to process in, you waited to wake up, you waited for him as you walked down the stairs that morning, you waited for your sisters to tell you it was a lie, you waited for your mom to serve his favorite lasagna as he came back home, you waited for the sound of cheer when he and your oldest sister finished repairing another part of the old car, you waited for him and Kara coming back from the forest at night after watching the stars, you waited for him to sit on the small bean bag of your bedroom as you played him something new in your instruments, you waited for the loud laughs and scolds that would come after you and your sisters would create an eating contest ending with Kara smiling proudly as you and Alex throw up, you waited for the ‘pizza and tacos night’ where the five of you somehow cooked without burning the kitchen down, ending with a marathon of movies and smiles on everyone faces. But it never came.
The distinct voices from the house gained your attention as they felt closer. You closed your eyes, trying to focus on the sound of the waves failing in the attempt. Turning around to see both of your sisters standing side by side as one of your family members expressing their condolences to them. Kara seemed to keep it together as she nodded shyly, while Alex clenched her jaw giving a small thanks before walking away, your blonde sister watched the redhead walk away before looking at the floor excusing herself too.
You looked away back to the beach, before deciding to get up and walk down the small hill entering the beach. Taking off your shoes, you put them at the side of the beach entrance before wrapping the blanket tightly around you. The voices began to zoom out and the sound of the ocean began to fill your ears. The soft sand on your feet as you walked closer to the shore felt grounding. The soft breeze that moved your hair out of control felt comforting as you sat down.
Burying your feet in the sand as you closed your eyes trying to remember something, to have something to hold on to. It felt weird, out of place, like something was missing. Your mind tried to wrap up with the fact that your father was dead but even if you knew what was happening, you still had questions. Sitting on the sand, you stared blankly at the ocean, as the waves came, as the breeze moved the palms and touched your cheeks, as the soft salty smell invaded your nose, and the coldness of the day began to increase.
It was like a debate between what you wanted to believe and what was happening. There were running thoughts in your head that made you feel exhausted. It was unpleasant and even tiring to think of how this event would change your and your family's life. You avoided the thought as much as you could, wishing and hoping to wake up from the nightmare but it was real and as much as you didn't want to accept it, your father was gone, and he was not coming back.
You didn't even realize when the sun that was high in the sky had come down and reflected in the ocean, you didn't feel the breeze and air get heavier or the way the only thing illuminating the night was the light bulb you dad put at the entrance of the beach.
It felt like time went in seconds, long seconds that you wished to take back and at the same time to move faster. It wasn't easy, it didn't feel easy, and the hole in your heart was unmistakable. You weren't a person who liked change, nor a person who easily understood what was going on around you.
Sure when Kara came into the family, it was like the missing piece. It didn't take you long to warm up to the blonde, but she was suffering from the loss of her planet so you stayed behind the doors and waited the right moment to comfort her and make her as welcome as you could. You saw her hesitate when she was doing something that would make her happy, you saw her doubt herself as Superman came into the news, you saw her shed tears when she tried to find where Krypto would be.
You tried constantly to win her affection, her trust, her intelligence, and more but you couldn't make her happy if she didn't heal. So you stayed awake during the night waiting to comfort her, you played with melodies on the piano so she could have a similar bed song as she had in Krypto, you ran as fast as you could after school to help her with her English or to watch and sing along with Wizard of Oz. You keep trying and trying even though she was legally your sister, you wanted to have a connection with her just like you did with Alex. So when the blonde the morning of your birthday hugged you and in English told you, you were her sister and she could be prouder than to call you that, you shredded in tears hugging her closely.
But it was different, everything was different, it felt different, it sounded different, it even tastes different. There was a silence between your family, Alex kept her feelings inside and bottle them in trying so hard not to break, mad at the world, mad at dad, at you, at your mom, even Kara. Your mom was understanding but quiet, she tried to be your and your sister's rock during the day but at night you can hear her crying her heart out. Kara kept silent, mad at the world for taking another person from her, holding you close trying to be helpful as much as she could even if she was hurting as much as she was when she first landed. And you, you kept quiet, trying to understand, trying to find the lie, trying to reach and understand your feelings but couldn't. So you waited for the time to pass by and for things to get in order, just like your dad used to say ‘time heals things, everything gets better with time’ but as the words rounded your head you couldn't feel more than the biggest lie of the world.
Flashback ends
The soft wrap with alcohol against your knuckles ached as your mom determinately disinfected your hand. You felt her eyes constantly glancing at you when you kept silent, trying to ignore the slight throb from the small wound in your hand. You glanced from the wall you stared continuously into her eyes, before speaking. “I tried”
“I know sweetie” Eliza looked up while finishing wrapping her hand before speaking in a motherly tone. As soon as she heard you talk she knew, she knew what you meant. Just your silence gave it away, she knew your conflicted feelings weren't going to help now and they didn't before, but what scared her was how long you were going to take to heal, to flash a familiar smile, to laugh until you couldn't anymore, to look at the eyes of your significant other, to sign with your older sisters until either of your throats wouldn't give more.
Fighting back the tears your eyes had swollen, you claimed again making eye contact with your mother, your mother's eyes redating with comfort and sadness as she looked at you. You clenched your hand into a fist but immediately opened it again when you felt the strong throb in your knuckles. “I tried, and it didn't work out. It didn't do anything”
“Healing isn't about not feeling sad or feeling numb, it's about letting in, letting go, and finding yourself again but you can't do it if you are not ready for it” She answered brushing a strand of your hair behind your ear.
And the understanding in her eyes and voice made you doubt, as your feelings started to fall in place. Heartache, anger, sadness, disappointment, pain, and more began to feel your chest and your mind as you took the words of your mother in. Your now bloodshot eyes looked away from her as you felt your lip tremble.
You nodded quietly, and before you knew. You threw your arms around your blonde mother, tears furiously leaving your eyes as she soothed you, with comforting and reassuring words. Your head was hidden in her neck as you cried your eyes out.
The feeling of heartbreak and pain overwhelming you as everything started to come down on you. And you wanted to cry, for minutes, for hours, days, weeks, even years. Because somehow after everything you still didn't feel enough, you felt everything you did was wrong, that you could have been better and you could have changed differently, closing your eyes you wished for it to be gone, but deep down you knew it wasn't.
“Please just make it stop, mom. Please, it hurts so much”
Flashback - February 2005
“Please just make it stop, mom. Please, it hurts so much”
You don't know how it happened or how long you had been furiously crying until you stared at the small seashells in the sand getting wet thanks to your tears. The once beige shell now was white. Grabbing the seashells from the sand, you started to throw them angrily at the water.
The sound of the rock making contact with the water somewhat comforted you, longing to throw everything away for it, for the broken shells to absorb your problems and leave with it. Soon enough you fell to your knees sobbing out. As the night lighting shot in the ocean, as the ocean tide had gone up, the once breeze became violent air.
One second you were crying furiously on your own, and the next you sobbed into your mother's arms, as she reassured you that everything was going to be okay. You gripped her shirt hugging her closely before looking up to her, touching your chest as your bloodshot eyes glanced in hers.
Your lip trembling from the cold and your sobs, her heart broke, even more, when you hid in her neck which made her look up as she soothed your back. She was trying so hard to keep it together for you and your sisters but the moment she caught sight of Kara and Alex with blankets around themselves walking straight to where the two of you sat, made her break into tears.
You looked up from your mother's neck as you felt a hand rubbing your back and others grabbing your hand softly in reassurance. Each one of them by you and your mother's side, your cries had slowed down when your redhead sister asked with a crack in her voice to your mother. “Are we gonna be okay?”
“Yeah, we will be but it will take time to heal, we can't rush it, we have to be ready”
“We are going to be okay” Kara claimed as a statement of reassurance after your mother responded, but her trembling lip, bloodshot eyes, and the high tone she used made her sound more like a prayer than anything.
Your mother reassured, making you three nod slowly before falling into a reassuring silence. “Until then we have each other, and one of the most precious things you girls are going to have in your life is each other, your family.”
Flashback ends
Unknowingly to you, your sisters had been watching from the door the moment Kara heard your heart spike. Tears in their eyes as they watched your mother rocked you slowly as you cried. Silent sobs and bitten lips coming from them as they stopped each other from walking into the room.
Alex kept her jaw clenched as her hands gripped each other hard as she tried to keep the tears inside. The redhead felt responsible for your crying, the urge to run in and comfort you debating her self-control. Doubts, questions, and more gained in her head as she saw you sob into your mother's arms, rage slowly consuming her emotions as the protectiveness over you began to show up.
Kara let out silent sobs, with her hand on top of her mouth. Her bloodshot eyes and red cheeks had overwhelming tears. The superheroine hated herself, as she felt responsible for your crying. She just wanted to hold you in her arms and tell you everything was going to be just fine, she wanted to see your sunny smile when you saw her or the bad jokes and puns you used all the time, she wanted you, she wanted her little sister but a part of her told her you needed the same space she once received from you.
The two of them standing next to each other with broken hearts and tears in their eyes, a small sense of hope in their chest as they watched the scene. Sharing a knowing, Alex came closer putting her arm around your blonde sister’s shoulder before speaking.
“Everything is gonna be okay, we are getting her back, I promise,” She said quietly reassuring Kara even when neither of them fully believe it.

little bumps in the road (pt. 6)
Previously...
they don't talk for quite a while after crossing the river into tennessee. lena needs some time to process this new information, and kara seems to sense this need. the blonde goes back to staring solely at the road ahead, occasionally tapping little rhythms on the steering wheel and humming little songs under her breath -- though she'll often stop herself, as if she thinks that lena needs complete and utter silence to sort her feelings out.
lena doesn't. she can appreciate the humming, even -- kara has a lovely voice and carries a tune well, and the distraction is a welcome one from the complete mess she's trying to unravel in her mind. it creates a soothing pace to the crops and occasional cows speeding last lena's window, almost lulls her to sleep despite her tangled lines of thought.
it's late afternoon and the sun is going low, low, low in the sky when kara finally says something.
"there's a motel a few miles ahead. we'll stop there for the night," she says, but then she quirks her head towards lena briefly, eyes hopeful. "if that's ok with you, i mean."
lena stops staring through the passenger window for a moment -- she's been looking at miles and miles of crops and farmland as far as the eye can see, and her eyes are beginning to glaze over.
"of course."
she studies kara’s expression, wondering why she’s suddenly giving her any sort of say at all on where they’re going. kara just looks ahead, maybe a little sheepishly.
“ok, then.”
the motel is… well, it’s a motel; it’s not any nicer than any of the other ones they’ve stayed at recently, but it’s also not any worse, either. they check into a single room -- kara rarely has lena out of her sight, minimizes those occasions as much as she possibly can -- but on the way there, the blonde spots a payphone, right by the corner of the building, and shoots lena a look.
“do you mind if i…?” she doesn’t finish her sentence, but she doesn’t need to; she simply cocks her head towards the payphone expectantly.
“go ahead,” lena says, trying to give her a heartfelt smile for… encouragement, maybe? she doesn’t know if she succeeds, but kara smiles back earnestly and turns on her heel to walk briskly to the phone, hand already reaching into the pocket of her jeans for another roll of coins.
the keycard takes a few tries to unlock the door, but eventually the lock clicks and lena practically stumbles in, dropping her worn duffel on the floor, right there by the entrance, onto a rug with some questionable stains. she feels exhausted, mentally and physically drained to a degree she can’t recall ever experiencing before.
it’s been hard, lately, to get her thoughts in order, but lena suspects that’s nothing to be too surprised about. she’s used to compartmentalizing--it’s one of her talents-- but right now the knowledge that alex danvers is the one hunting her fills her with dread. even if alex knows her sister is alive (she was the one to revive kara after all, according to kara herself), she still doesn’t know that kara is essentially harboring a fugitive. she still thinks lena is running out of her own volition.
she still thinks lena meant to kill kara.
that thought doesn’t mix well with the multitude of other worries swimming in her head, at the moment, doesn’t sit well in her chest and makes her stomach curl uncomfortably into knots.
lena’s not so out of it that she misses kara’s fumbling with the lock, but she does almost miss the look of defeat in the blue gaze once kara finally gets the keycard to cooperate.
kara sinks into one of the chairs by the little table in the corner, sighing audibly as her whole body seems to deflate.
“no luck?” lena tries, and kara shakes her head in the negative.
“nope,” she murmurs, popping the ‘p’ as she digs little shapes onto the cheap wood of the table with her nails. “nothing yet.”
lena nods--she’s not sure what to say, here. she’s a little conflicted on how she should feel about kara finally getting in touch with alex--part of her wants answers, but a much bigger part of her is terrified of an agent danvers on the warpath. she knows alex would move heaven and earth for kara, no question about it, but with lena in the picture?
she’s not so certain what the reaction would be. she’s not sure she wants to find out.
“are you hungry?” kara asks, breaking her grimmer trains of thought. “i grabbed a flyer for a pizza place nearby--looks like they do delivery. personally, i think we could use a break from the cup noodles.”
lena smiles a little. “i haven’t had so much instant ramen since college, i think.”
kara laughs, and it sounds so...so free, unreserved, so alien to their current predicament, it’ almost easy for lena to join in, too. it’s not even a funny comment, not a particularly snarky observation, but for some reason they’re both having a small giggle fit and it feels good, cathartic even, to be sharing a laugh with kara again.
“well,” kara quips, yanking the crumpled flyer out of her pocket and smoothing it over the tabletop, “i don’t think tey have that fancy kale monstrosity you liked to order at gino’s, but at least it’ll be better than instant ramen, right?”
“right,” lena chuckles. “just… get me something with at least a vegetable in it, for the love of god.”
kara makes a face, but she’s still smiling as she reaches for the phone. “as you wish, as you wish,”  she says dramatically, muttering there’s no accounting for taste, really and tutting under her breath while she dials.
lena smiles--wide and real, she can even feel her eyes crinkling at the corners--as she listens to kara rattle off their order (three large pepper--you know what, better make that four--four large pepperoni pies, wait, no, extra large, and then…) and, unbidden, her mind seems to get stuck on a different time, an entirely different reality, when she and kara would just… order pizza (though kara limited her order to two large pizzas back then), watch movies, and just talk about everything and nothing until the sun came up.
lena misses that peace.
kara seems to be in the same wavelength; she has a wistful look on her face once she hangs up, as if she’s reading lena’s mind, experiencing the same brand of nostalgia in the same moment.
lena has to break it; it’s too painful to wallow in it. “kara? can I ask you a question?”
“Hm?” kara hums distractedly, craning her neck to look at lena’s direction with a little smile. “just one?”
“wel. no, not just one,” lena admits, trying to organize her thought again. there’s just so much she wants to ask, so much she needs to know, and she’s not sure where to start.
kara just waits, her gaze unwavering.
“back in national city,” lena starts, picking a lane and sticking with it, so to speak. “ when you… when you died… when alex brought you back… who exactly brought me to you? it couldn’t have been alex, if she doesn’t know i’m with you.”
kara looks pensive for a moment, steepling her fingers over her thigh. “what do you remember?”
lena has struggled with precisely that for the past couple of weeks. the truth is, the time between watching supergirl drop like a rock from the skies and being shoved into the jeep with a kara that was very much alive is a complete blank.
“pretty much nothing after you fell,” lena answers honestly, and she looks to kara for an explanation for this significant gap in her memory, but finds nothing. “but then… someone took me from somewhere and suddenly… and there you were. who was that?”
for some unfathomable reason, kara looks amused. “oh,”  she chuckles like she can’t help it. “that was nia.”
lena can feel her own eyes bugging out. “nia?? are you telling me nia nal put a bag over my head and basically kidnapped me?”
kara snorts. “that’s exactly what i’m telling you.”  she turns serious, suddenly, and her lips tighten into a line for a moment. “alex prepared the jeep and a few supplies, but nia had a dream--a vision that she wouldn’t explain. she just told me to take you with me, and I wasn’t about to argue.”
lena can’t lie to herself, she’s a little hurt, but definitely not surprised, that bringing her along had not been kara’s intention. she chooses not to dwell on it -- there’s already far too much to dwell on. “oh,”  she says instead, looking for words. “what happened between the time you were… recovering and the time we ran off? was i not…” lena stops, struggling to remember but drawing nothing more than a blank. “was i not arrested or something?”
it occurs to lena that she has no idea how much time it took kara to recover, or what happened to her while alex nursed her sister back to life. she can’t explain how kara survived; she can’t explain what happened between her fall and their escape, she can’t explain how lex hasn’t found them yet.
kara can only shrug her shoulders. “i don’t know. alex sent me to the jeep’s location the minute i was well enough to not need the sunlamps; when i got there, nia was already there with you. didn’t exactly have the time to argue--lex would definitely find out i was alive if i stayed in national city.”
“ain’t that the truth,” lena quips bleakly. a thought occurs to her. “frankly, i’m surprised he doesn’t know. he owns the DEO in this reality.”
“thank rao for small miracles,” kara mutters. “we sure need them, the way things are going.”
another thought occurs to lena--she thinks back to the past few days, but more specifically, to mere minutes ago, when kara was gouging faint little marks on the wood of the table with her nails--something so trivial, something she used to do herself as a child, bored and anxious at boarding school-- and she realizes with sudden clarity that there’s a lot that she can’t explain--but one thing seems to stick out, glaringly.
“kara,” she says, trying to add up the days in her head and not liking what she comes up with at all. “it’s been at least two weeks, right?”
kara nods, looking grim as if she knows exactly what lena is about to ask. “give or take, yeah.”
lena’s question comes out as a statement, and at the exact same time someone knocks on their door, startling them both.
“and you still don’t have your powers.”

Kara had been putting on a brave face all afternoon. Alex figured it would have been a little more obvious to everyone had it not been for the fact that they all were.
Each of them had been affected by the Phantom’s fear visions to some degree, but in typical Super Friends fashion, they’d found the remedy to those fears in each other’s company.
It almost felt too normal, gathering at Kara’s apartment, playing board games, eating and drinking, laughing and pretending that the last few weeks had been nothing but a bad dream.
Nothing was that easy, though, no matter how hard they tried. After all, it didn’t escape Alex that Lena had more than overindulged in her fair share of scotch since her arrival, or that Nia had practically remained glued to Brainy’s side the whole afternoon, fiddling with the life projectors beneath his shirt as they lay curled against each other on the couch. Brainy held her just as tightly in return, as though he was afraid to let her go. It was clear he was way more on edge than normal, hyper-aware of his surroundings, startling at just about any loud noise. So much so that the pop from the champagne cork earlier that day had very nearly sent him reeling right out of the room. After that, Alex had put the group on a strict twist off cap rule for any future bottles that were to be opened in Brainy’s presence.
Alex knew that Kelly had seen something awful there as well, but her girlfriend had been doing everything to keep the morale of the team boosted, instead assuring her that she was working through it on her own terms, and that she wanted Alex to feel comfortable talking to her about her own nightmare as well.
As much as Alex wanted to take Kelly up on that offer - right now - sitting there with her friends, drink in hand and her sister’s head resting on her shoulder… this was how she was getting by. She didn’t need to talk it out, at least not in that moment. Being in the presence of her family, feeling the soft fibres of Kara’s cardigan between her fingers, this was more than enough to keep her fears at bay.
But, she knew that Kara was struggling.
Despite the strength Kara was trying desperately to maintain, Alex could see the strain behind every smile. Even now she was home safe, decked in sweats and curled up under her favourite blanket, it didn’t take from the fact that whatever she’d seen in the Phantom Zone still lived within her. Providing all the comforts in the world wasn’t going to change that.
Still, having a chance to focus on family, junk food and stupid card games was at least beginning to alleviate some of the tension in the room. By the time day rolled into night, the laughter they shared together felt that much more genuine, and Alex was even able to goad Kara into a very competitive, high-stakes game of Trivial Pursuit.
Brainy and Nia won, not like the room stood much of a chance against a twelfth-level intellect who had also taken the opportunity of studying even more pop-culture references since his stint in 2009. But, with the alcohol running through everyone’s systems, the match had been closer than any one before it.
Eventually though, it was time for the Super Friends to head home for the evening. Well, everyone apart from Alex. She’d been pretty clear from the moment game night had been proposed that there was no way in hell she was leaving her sister alone that night.
If anything, Kara had seemed relieved at the idea. Alex knew she was still processing everything that had happened, but the horrors of that place were still fresh on her mind. Maybe she hadn’t been alone, maybe she had found family along the way, but that didn’t take from the awful things Kara had witnessed, even with her father at her side.
Alex wasn’t sure what to think of Zor-El quite yet. J’onn had given him a place to crash at the Tower while he gathered his bearings on Earth, and she knew he’d likely be contacting Argo very soon with the news of his survival. Kara hadn’t spoken much about her father since getting back, but then again, she’d spoken so little about her time in the Phantom Zone that Alex didn’t think it strange. She was looking to move past this.
They all were.
Just… moving past it wasn’t going to be as easy as they were hoping for. Kelly was already trying to encourage everyone into a group session to talk things out, although the bottle of wine she’d toted had probably made her sound a little too eager about the idea at the time. In any case, Alex hadn’t missed how Kara had shrunk into the sofa at the suggestion, or how quickly she’d diverted the subject before Kelly had a chance to go into any details.
She’d have to talk to someone eventually, and privately Alex hoped that Kara might let her in. Since Brainy and Nia had gone back in time, Alex couldn’t help but fall back to those years when she’d left Kara behind for college, how anchored she’d still felt to her sister’s life even from miles away. There were times she’d blamed Kara for everything in her life that wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t take from the moments, however small, where things had been just that.
Perfect.
The longer Kara had spent in Midvale, the more she’d opened up about her home world. Alex had found the topic all kinds of uncomfortable at first, serving as yet another reminder that she was responsible for this alien tween that had somehow stumbled into their lives, disturbing her otherwise normal existence. But, Kara had been able to fill every one of her stories about Krypton with such wonder. Even when she hadn’t been fully confident with English, she’d still managed to describe her planet with such passion that Alex could even imagine those great glass spires for herself, could see the vast cities that glimmered in the distance from Kara’s old bedroom window.
Kara had never managed to get through one of those stories without crying.
Alex could still remember clambering over to Kara’s bed in the dead of night, bundling her adopted sister in her arms, expecting it to feel so alien, so wrong. But, it hadn’t. If anything, it had been the most natural thing in the world.
She’d whispered to her then, rocking her, telling her oh so gently that everything would be okay.
Kara had believed her every time.
Now, though?
Now, Alex wasn’t so sure.
Once the party disbanded, neither one of them had the energy to say much to each other, but that didn’t matter. Sharing one another’s space was more than enough. Assuring Kara that she wasn’t alone tonight - that was enough. It had to be.
When Kara headed to bed, Alex set about making herself comfortable on the couch, curling beneath the duvet that Kara had left out for her.
She didn’t remember falling asleep, which only made it all the more alarming when she was suddenly jerked awake some hours later.
Alex’s throat was dry, and there was a crick in her neck where she’d been lying awkwardly across the sofa’s arm. She groaned out, raising her hands in a half-assed defensive stance that would have been way more threatening had she actually had a firearm to grab a hold of and not a medium sized throw pillow.
“Alex?”
Kara’s voice, trailing feebly in the dark. Alex blinked, finding her sister’s bright eyes staring at her in the dim setting of the apartment. Even with no visible source of light, they still managed to shimmer, like tiny beams of sunlight had been captured within her irises.
“Hey,” Alex managed, clearing her throat with some effort. She frowned, reaching for her sister’s arm. “Are you okay?”
Kara’s lips trembled into a weak smile. “I couldn’t sleep,” she admitted.
“Figures,” Alex said, noting the state of her sister’s hair. It was tied up into a messy bun that had clearly fallen victim to Kara’s violent tossing and turning habit. Alex forced herself into a half decent sitting position, glancing towards the kitchen. “What d’you think, will tea and honey cut it?” she asked, feigning a dramatized yawn. “Or, do we have to pull out the big guns?”
Kara’s smile widened. “Oh, big guns for sure.”
“Hot cocoa it is.” Alex grinned. “You can boil the water.”
                                                          ---
Ten minutes later, Alex found herself sat on Kara’s bed, legs crossed as she nursed her piping mug of hot cocoa, enhanced with a generous splash of whiskey. Kara did the same, taking a sip before she closed her eyes, leaning her back against the head rest.
“Oh Rao that’s good,” she murmured.
“Y’know, I think I’ve even improved upon mom’s recipe,” Alex mused. “The student becomes the teacher, or whatever.”
“Don’t tell Eliza that, she’ll kill you.”
Alex pulled a face. “God, never. She’ll take that recipe to her grave.”
Kara chuckled, sobering slightly. She pressed her lips together, staring down into her mug. “I missed this,” she murmured. “When I was… trapped there… everything felt so bleak. Like the world was trying to suck the happiness right out of me.” She shuddered, tightening her grip around her mug. “I tried to hold onto happy memories, the taste of my favourite foods, anything that’d keep me grounded. But, the longer I was there, the more I thought I’d never find that happiness again.” She breathed out sharply, forcing a smile. “That I’d never taste hot cocoa again.”
“I can’t imagine what it was like,” Alex said softly. “I mean… we were only there for a few hours and look how badly it affected us. You were there for weeks and I—” Alex choked, shaking her head. “Things got pretty bleak here, too. And, well, let’s just say I didn’t need a Phantom to start losing hope.”
“Alex-”
“It’s not your fault,” Alex said automatically. “So don’t you dare go apologising for this.”
“I- I wasn’t.”
Alex gave her sister a pointed look.
Kara’s face fell. She shifted uncomfortably, drawing her knees up towards her chest. “Okay, maybe… so maybe I was. But- I don’t know what else to say, Alex! I am sorry. Sorry any of this happened. That we lost each other.”
Again.
“We always find our way back,” Alex said firmly, pressing the warmth of her mug against her chin retrospectively. Her lips curled. “That might as well be the Danvers’ sisters motto at this point, right?”
Kara snorted into her own mug. “It’s got a ring to it.”
“We could make t-shirts.”
“Okay, that’s the lamest thing I’ve ever heard.”
“But you kinda love it, right?”
Kara’s nose crinkled when she grinned, one of those classic Kara smiles. So simple, so easy, as though she wasn’t holding the weight of the world on her shoulders at any given moment.
It didn’t last long, but when Kara looked back up at her, Alex thought that a little of the pain behind her eyes had begun to ease.
Then, Kara yawned.
Alex’s smile faded. “Okay, you really need to get some sleep.”
Kara bit her lip, glancing away. “I know. I just…” She blinked with a sudden revelation, turning back to Alex in the same motion. “Would you stay?” she asked impulsively, patting the sheets at her side. “Here, I mean. While I sleep? Like old times?”
“You don’t even have to ask,” Alex said, already scooting over towards the empty space. “Of course I will.”
                                                           ---
The last time Alex had laid in Kara’s bed, she’d been alone.
When the wound had still been fresh, her heart was so heavy that Alex had needed to feel Kara there with her somehow. She’d used the spare key to get inside, curling up beneath her sister’s sheets, still smelling of Kara’s watermelon shampoo, and hugged her pillow close to her chest, burying her face into the soft cotton.
Now, Kara lay at her side, and yet Alex still had to fight to prove to herself that this was real. That Kara was home.
She hadn’t told anyone about what the Phantom had showed her just yet - not even Kelly. To think how terrified she’d been of not being the first face that Kara saw, that somehow her stubbornness might ruin everything, that to get Kara back, she’d have to sacrifice herself, because it was her job as the older sister. Even when she’d faced those fears, when she’d chosen to let herself go to keep Kara safe, it didn’t take from the horrible all-consuming vacuum that had surrounded her. The unforgiving, ice cold chasm of space that had crushed her body the moment she’d been pulled from the ship’s sheild.
But, when Kara had barrelled through that door, Alex had seen her light at the end of the tunnel. When Kara had wrapped her arms around her, nearly forgetting her own strength, squeezing the breath right out from Alex’s lungs, her fears had all but evaporated alongside it. Instead, she’d only hugged her sister tighter in response, whispering nonsensical reassurances into Kara’s ear as she’d crumpled beneath the weight of everything she’d seen, breathing heavily into Alex’s throat.
Now, Alex ran her fingers through her sister’s hair, tugging the elastic out so that she could knot the blonde strands into loose plaits. She’d taught Kara how to braid her hair in a similar fashion when they’d been kids, playing with her hair for hours in front of the mirror, going through every style she could think of in some of her mom’s old magazines. Alex had never been a big fan of dressing up, but Kara had been so excited to learn about Earth fashion and Alex had been seldom to disappoint.
It wasn’t long before Kara relaxed into the gesture, her back curving against Alex’s chest as she sank deep against her pillow, pressing her face into it with a soft exhale.
Alex didn’t know what kind of nightmares Kara had faced the last time she’d fallen asleep, but she vowed that she’d do everything in her power to give her sister the peace of mind she deserved.
When Kara finally began to doze and soft snores escaped her lips, Alex wrapped her arms around her front, burying her face between her sister’s shoulder blades.
She was warm in her arms, solid and real. Alex could feel every rise and fall in Kara’s chest, could hear the steady rhythm of her pulse beating against her forehead.
The girl of steel had always needed to appear unbreakable to everyone, but what people rarely thought about was how that so often extended even to Kara Danvers. After all, it would be Kara Danvers, not Supergirl, who would be turning up at CatCo in the next few days, pretending as though she’d been out getting the scoop of the century.
No one outside of her family knew what she’d been through, and so none of them would offer her the proper time she needed to heal.
And, as much as it hurt, Alex knew that by tomorrow, Kara would already be flying around National City again, reassuring the world that Supergirl was still there for them all.
But, in small moments like this, Kara could at least let her guard down. She didn’t need to be anyone’s saviour right then. She was Kara Danvers, Kara Zor El. And at the heart of it, she was still Alex’s little sister. No matter what happened, nothing would ever change that.
Maybe she couldn’t protect her sister from whatever tomorrow brought with it, but she could make damn sure that not a single nightmare touched her tonight.
That would have to be enough.

Satisfaction Brought it Back - TEASER
The one where Lena ghosted Kara rather than going villain, Kara went into reporting on human rights abuses in warzones and Lena started a project to take medical information for aliens and their anatomy to help human hospitals.
And then volunteer Subject 99 walks in for a full exam and Lena wonders if she can pretend she's doing anything other than "playing doctor" while learning about Kara's unique body. But her traitor heart just wants to play house. SEE THE REST HERE: https://www.patreon.com/posts/56078508 ===== Alana helps the gray-scaled Jorviunan gentleperson down from the exam table. Five genders on a three-pole gradient, the species file says. Subject 98 uses he/him according to the survey. But it's not right. She's gotten enough peripheral glances of herself in a ballroom's mirror, gritting her teeth and using the identity of least resistance when one of Lillian's friends slid a hand around her back. Lena's been in both the human medicine and xenobiology games long enough to know when a word tastes bad in someone's mouth. Or fangs. Or pincers. Or feelers. Or bioelectrically charged water-filtering membranes. Subject 73 was a Vyllnat who rolled in the other day who looked like she belonged on a Wikipedia article about the Dykes on Bikes movement with the zinger being that her partner was checking in for the session in the next bay during the same time slot. Mating for them involves snuggling close and sharing body heat until their physiologies sync up enough to allow genetic material to simply seep through softened skin. What Lena thought was a rather plain leather riding jacket was, in fact, skin that just looked like supple black leather. Membranous flaps that adults use to seal each other's bodies in an airtight embrace during one of these sessions. A mutually embarrassing moment involving Lena stumbling and nearly wiping out with a tray of sharps and some accidentally-spit acid revealed the tight jeans were really fifteen feet of muscular tail as thick as Lena's waist trailing behind 73 in a holographic concealment field. Lena even weaseled her into letting her take 3D scans of all five sets of interlocking fangs and slicing teeth and a venom sample.
Late that night, Lena might have put a few minutes of Clash of the Titans on loop while she got herself off. Sue her. The idea of reproduction by snuggling is even gayer than a race of medusa-ish beings who come in three flavors of what could only really be called female in a human framework.
"Next subject?" Lena asks, looking up at Alana who is tapping some commands to the repurposed attack drone of Lex's they use to burn any biohazards off the equipment.
"iPad," Alana replies, her eyes sparkling a bit too much as she directs three streams of particle-dissolving energy. Lena sometimes gets a distinct whiff of Kate McKinnon's character in Ghostbusters, except that not only is Alana weird and unapologetic and intense, she's also a first-generation immigrant. She tears through American pop culture like Kara tears through potstickers, so Lena's never 100% sure if Alana's showing up in an outfit that looks like business-safe cosplay on purpose or not. Some city in Nigeria is missing their resident mad genius, to National City's benefit. ===== "Uh, hi."
Rude, is all Lena can think at first. She had heard through the 'DEO to Alex to Kelly to the group texts of doctors who deal with aliens' pipeline that Supergirl had gone from on-patrol to emergency use only around the time that blogs gushed about one of CatCo's human passing journalists coming out as alien and then leaving the company. She was trying very hard not to stalk Kara's Instagram at the time so she didn't follow up. Something something independent reporter in the field somewhere somewhere bringing attention to the plight of someone someone.
Lena only avoided full-on alcoholism over the last year by screening out all reminders of Kara's existence, which let her pretend. Which didn't make it hurt any less when Jess came into her office a few months ago and said that Kara Danvers had come by to ask if Lena had gotten a new cell phone. Kara's first thought wasn't Lena being a cruel, overdramatic mess of gay thirst and Luthor trauma. She trusted Lena's good nature, so her first thought was clerical error.
Kara seems to have taken being ghosted in stride because she spent the last six months getting somehow even hotter than she already was, which probably violates some United Nations Convention on placing dangerous pressure on the human body or something.
Her hair is the same length, but it's tied in a hasty ponytail that's tied off with a scrunchy made of honest-to-god paracord the same crimson as her cape. She's let the curl come back in--how did she straighten it, anyway?--so it doesn't look like Supergirl's sheets of gold more suited for a damsel in diaphanous silk than the halo of an avenging angel. What it evokes is a stallion's mane, glossy in the harsh light and waving as the beast moves.
The dresses that never suited her are gone, and the button ups are back but now they're a thick flannel or something worn half-unbuttoned over a burgundy tee shirt that clings tight and reveals the corners of the suit's breastplate underneath. She could trace the glyph through it, which means if Lena could only get her out of the damn suit, it would revea--FOCUS, she reminds herself--and rather than CatCo-required chinos Kara is in black denim that hangs loose at rest but molds to her muscles when she walks over to put her coat across the 'patient clothing' rack. Each flex and tense tells Lena way too much about how powerful her thighs are and also not nearly enough about what it would feel to have the--FOCUS, Lena--and Jesus take the wheel Kara's even wearing combat boots covered in a fresh coat of pale dust that could just as easily be from a hiking trail north of town or a warzone in Somalia.
"It's funny. On the plane, back from Kasnia? I almost told you."
When she couldn't stop fidgeting with her glasses. Her hair was a mess when she escaped from the Eve clones. She had her glasses off and her hair down and she was going to show me... Lena realizes.
She makes a sound she doesn't even recognize and suddenly she's in Kara's arms, her knees sting from hitting the floor before Kara knelt with her. She's slapping ineffectively against the protective firmness around her and watching her own tears fall like it's happening to someone else.
Kara shushes her and rocks her back and forth and doesn't ask before kissing her forehead. Lena doubts she thought about it consciously. Maybe when she is released, she can complain about lack of consent or maybe she'll demand another kiss to make it all better.
=====
"Lena, I really can't do this. Not like this, not with you."
Reality slams down around Lena like the doors in a haunted house closing.
"Of course. I can schedule you with Alana or per-"
Kara molds her hands to Lena's hipbones and pulls her into her arms. She takes her with force, cupping Lena's head and holding her fast. She nips at Lena's lip and uses the moan as a chance to lick into Lena's mouth. Hot and wet and impatient, her tongue seasoned with ginger and orange and grease, cut with the waiting room mints. She kisses like she eats, greedily and curiously and bottomless. Kara hums and holds and presses and licks and nips and sucks. She brings one hand up to Lena's neck and curls around her pulse, rubbing her thumb along Lena's windpipe. She doesn't seem to notice or care that Lena can't do this forever because Kara wants to do this forever and fuck human failings like a need for oxygen. Lena has to bite her tongue to get her to retreat. It would've drawn blood on a human but Kara just moans and pulls back.
"Christ, Kara."
Kara licks her lips lazily. The chilly blue that reminds Lena of ice caps and winter skies is darkened and her pupils are swollen and fucking hell Lena can even see little white crackles in the depths of them, rising towards the surface like caged lightning.

Metallo!Lena AU Part 15
Lena's decision to reveal herself isn't entirely well thought out. In the weeks that follow, the media outlets flood with speculation about her veracity, her intentions, and her whereabouts for the past year. Considering Lena bolted after giving the reporters her name, their confusion isn't entirely unwarranted, but Lena has no intention of giving them any further details.
Reclaiming her name is one thing. Revealing the current condition is another.
"The last thing the world needs to hear is that there's a Luthor running around without a heart. Literally."
Kara rolls her eyes at the weak joke. "Nobody blames you for your brother's actions, Lena. If they knew what happened--"
"They'll say I should have seen it coming. It's all in the family, Kara. My brother killed me and my mother resurrected me. This is my chance to start fresh, so just... let me have it."
The unexpected outcome of it all is that Lena no longer needs to hide. Slowly, she starts to venture out into the city with Kara, both with armor and without, and for the first time since her rescue, she gets to enjoy some of the things she used to.
Like watching the geese in the park, and window shopping in midtown. At first, she's able to get away unnoticed by simply wearing casual outfits, but as the media coverage persists, more and more people start to notice her. It soon becomes clear that Lena needs to make another decision.
"I have to make a statement," she says one night, lying in her bunk next to Kara. They've just come out of a sparring session, and are sweaty and tired, but still Lena's mind races.
Kara looks at her, not lifting her head. "Are you sure?"
"No. But... if I don't, I'll just lose control of my narrative all over again."
"Okay," comes the easy response. "I'll support you, whatever you decide."
Lena turns to look at her. "I'm going to need you to do more than that."
---
"You want her to WHAT?" Alex asks, when they tell her the plan.
Lena doesn't blink an eye. "I want Kara to leverage an exclusive interview with me to get her old job back."
Alex looks like she's going to pop a blood vessel. She eyes Lena, then turns her incredulous gaze on Kara. "And what do you want?"
Kara shuffles awkwardly in place, eyes on her shoes. "I... am okay with it."
It had taken some convincing. Well, not so much convincing as talking Kara out of her own pessimism. Her career was over, she'd claimed when Lena first shared her idea. Supergirl was her job now. She was needed at the DEO more than anywhere else. The world needed Supergirl.
"But what does Supergirl need?" Lena had asked.
Now, Alex doesn't seem convinced. "Really? Because you were miserable there before you quit. Are you really ready to go back?"
Kara shrugs, sheepish and uncertain both. Lena shifts protectively in front of her. "Don't worry," she drawls, "I'm sure she'll still help at DEO if you ask nicely."
"That's not why I'm concerned," Alex scoffs.
"Then why do you care so much about what Kara chooses to do with her civilian life, Director?"
Alex pauses on the verge of retort. Then she rocks back on her heels, making pointed eye contact with Kara. Kara touches Lena shoulder, moving out from behind her.
"Because she's my sister."
Lena blinks in surprise, then freezes as her brain restructures itself to absorb this new information. "Oh. That is... not what I expected."
"What were you expecting?"
"...doesn't matter."
Alex huffs, irritation flaring. "Kara, I don't think I need to remind you of what it was like when you were working at CatCo--"
"I loved CatCo. I still do." Kara's shoulders lift. "Looking back, I don't think CatCo was the reason I was miserable. It's just the part of my life that suffered the most. But--" She looks at Lena, shoulders squaring. "Things are different now. I can't be Supergirl all my life. I need more. I always have."
With a sigh, Alex relents. "Fine. What do you need from me?"
---
James is nothing if not surprised to see Kara slip into his office one afternoon. She's clearly nervous, fidgeting with her glasses and shrinking into herself. Even so, he's glad to see her.
"Kara, hey! Wow, it's been a while. How are... things?"
He knows her secret, but after their breakup and Kara's unexpected departure from CatCo, they'd drifted apart.
"Good, good. Yeah," Kara stammers. "I, uh, I was wondering if we could talk, for a second."
James grins. "Yeah. Of course, of course. Come on in."
He comes around his desk, meeting Kara at the couches. A little thrill rushes through him at their proximity, before he shakes himself out of it. He never got a chance to settle back into frienship with Kara, and he regrets the distance between them.
When they sit, he tries to ease her nerves with a grin. "What's happening?"
Kara smooths her hands on the tops of her thighs, and takes a deep breath. Then, she straightens and turns to face him.
"I came here to discuss the possibility of me getting my job back."
"Your job," James repeats. "Here. At CatCo."
Kara nods. "Yes. At CatCo."
"Oh... I don't know, Kara."
"I know it's a tall ask--"
James barks a laugh. "A tall ask? It's been over a year, and I hate to say it, but Snapper hasn't gotten any better since you left."
"He wasn't why I left..."
"I actually figured it was because of me."
Kara's eyes widen, and her cheeks heat with a flush as she scrambles to deny it. "James, no-- that's not--"
"You don't need to explain anything to me, Kara, really...  but I have to say, a rehire would be a tough sell with Snapper, I'm sorry."
"You don't have to sell him anything," Kara rebuts, her voice steeling. Her gaze took on a hard glint. "You're his boss."
James nods. "That's true, but I wouldn't be doing you any favors by forcing you on him."
"I'm not asking for any favors--"
"Kara."
"You know what I mean. I'm ready to take on anything Snapper has in store, I'm ready to pull weight, and I'm ready to go the distance. And you know the kind of person I am, James. I won't let you down."
James sighs. "I know. But... I just can't do it."
Kara nods, adjusting her glasses. "I can prove to you that CatCo needs me-- will be better to have me on board."
There's something familiar in Kara's voice now, and James realizes that he's seeing Supergirl poking through. Whatever had so shaken her a year ago, she's ready to overcome it.
"And what's that?" he asks.
"Lena Luthor."
James pauses. "What about her?"
"She's agreed to an exclusive with CatCo-- on one condition."
"With you."
"As a fully hired and salaried CatCo employee."
It's the one thing James knows he can't refuse. Every media outlet in the country is clamoring for an interview with Lena Luthor, and here she's been walked right into his office on the wings of the one former employee his editor-in-chief cannot stand. That said...
With a scoop like Lena Luthor, CatCo would survive if Snapper Carr walked out.
James hesitates, out of principle if nothing else. "You really have Lena Luthor on lock?"
Taking out her phone, Kara opens her contacts and with just a few taps of her thumb has a video chat ringing. As James watches, the black comes to life with the visage of Lena Luthor.
"Kara, hi," says the tinny voice. Despite likely expecting the call, the woman is clearly happy to see Kara.
Kara blushes, fiddling with her glasses once more. "Hi, Lena. I, um, I have James here, and he was wondering--"
"Mr. Olsen." Suddenly, Lena Luthor is all business. "I expect Kara has already explained the situation."
James nods. "She has."
"I am willing to work with CatCo, so long as I interview exclusively with Kara Danvers."
"Editorial will have input on the question list."
"Which will be screened in advance, and received with Kara's contract, signed and countersigned."
James doesn't necessarily like being dictated to, but Lena's tone is nothing less than professional. It's as though he's talking to another executive, and negotiation is a tactic he's grown accustomed to.
"We can work with that."
"At 10% above Kara's exit salary."
Ohhhhh... James chafes at that. Kara starts, then flushes-- clearly, she hadn't expected this. But there's no negotiation in Lena's tone, so he chooses to take the high road. He nods.
"All right. We'll be in touch."

An essay on my feelings about Supergirl
Hey! I’m new here and i don’t really know how things work but still i thought it was a good idea to share something i wrote so enjoy! (Note: I wrote this the morning after the finale, i wasn’t sure if i should share it but my opinion hasn’t changed so it feels like the right thing to do)
----
AN ESSAY ON MY FEELINGS ABOUT THE CW’S SUPERGIRL
Hello and welcome to the confusion that is my brain! These are some of my thoughts on the Supergirl finale that took place last night, on the show in general and my experience watching it. I am not a writer, english isn’t my first language and my emotions are involved so ignore any grammatical inconsistencies you may find. The Chandler Bing in me will try to keep things light on serious topics, enjoy! (This is going to work as a therapy session for me and I’m listening a playlist called “crying over supercorp” so bear with me.)
HOW AND WHY I WATCHED THE SHOW
I watched the finale live, it started at 1 am where I live and ended at 3 am, this resulted on 4 hours of sleep cause yes, I am a college student and I have classes that I (normally) attend. This was a choice of mine and, yes, I was aware of the possible outcomes of the finale. It’s currently 9h23, I’m crying in front of my computer (online classes going strong) thinking about what happened last night while my professor is *trying* to explain accounting. Maybe I’m crying because of the emotional rollercoaster that has been this last week and/or cause I have no idea what’s going on in this class…either way I feel powerless :) I got to watch the first five seasons of this show on a short amount of time and what a ride it was (for those who started watching when season 1 aired: how are y’all still standing?) and both parts of season six I watched live (at 2 in the morning on Tuesdays – sleep schedule who?). I started watching Supergirl last year after I came out to myself (I have now unlocked the “traumatized gay” status) because of Alex’s story. I felt seen, I felt like I wasn’t alone, it was a beautiful television moment, Chyler you have my heart.
THE CHARACTERS
I’m still here, not because of the plot (cause…well I’ll get to it later) but because of the characters. Supergirl, hope in person, strongest being on earth, the sun to whoever was around and a dork, an adorable dork. Melissas’ Supergirl was my introduction to this amazing character (I am aware that I’m living under a rock don’t come at me) and I think she will always be my favourite Supergirl. Kara changed my view of the world, taught me how to be a better person and to always fight for what I believe! I’ll forever be grateful for how this character was portrayed and how much passion Melissa transmitted to her. Both Kara and Melissa are superheroes and let’s never forget that! As I said previously, Alex’s coming out story really impacted my life but that’s not all! As an older sister myself I saw so much of me on Alex, and I learned a lot by watching the Danvers sisters relationship develop and grow through the seasons! I love them! J’onn J’onzz, also known as space dad, was wisdom in person, always calm and extremely protective of who he loves. His values and thoughtful speeches were a great part of this show. Lena Luthor… oh man I have so much to say but I’ll try to keep it short…Talented. Brilliant. Amazing. Showstopping. Spectacular. Ok sorry I’ll stop. Lena changed my life; I’ll forever remember her story. I said I was in college, but I didn’t mention I am an engineering and management student and I think it is relevant now. Lena Luthor, scientist and CEO, taught me so much about women in STEM and inspired a whole lot of women to pursue a career in STEM and I think that’s beautiful. She is the strong woman and “brilliant, kind-hearted, beautiful soul” I aspire to be! (honestly the Supergirl writers spared me a lot of work). And in this area I include Alex because she was also part of the scientific segments of the show. Expressing emotions was a feature that Lena got to develop and girl you need some therapy (me too tho)! Trust issues are something very present in my life (the situation was delicate but after this show…oh my) and Lena Luthor also has her fair share of trust issues so watching the development of this character and the way she dealt with everything really touched me. I didn’t know who Katie McGrath was before this show and I’m so glad now I “know”. Lena Luthor wouldn’t have the same impact on me if it was someone else portraying her. Katie brought so much to the show, to the fandom and to my life so thank you! In interviews she is very thoughtful and always tries to validate everyone “and that’s one of the reasons I love you” (I’m not even sorry for this one). I think now is a good time to talk about Brainy because his relationship with Lena was also something a lot of people enjoyed watching. They helped each other understand and accept their emotions and that gave us a lot of wonderful moments. To be honest I haven’t had the time to understand his arc (considering some scenes were deleted from the live I was watching? anyways). I think brainy was a great addition to this show, we had a lot of fun moments with this character and Jesses’ performance was without a doubt one of the best. Nia Nal was another great character that inspired so many people in so many levels. Her story was well written, and I think Nicole should be proud for everything accomplished (considering the circumstances of this show). Passion, delicacy and strength are words that suit Dreamer! Lastly, I’m going to talk about Kelly Olsen, our, at least my, favourite Guardian. I wish there was more screen time available for this character because her personality was essential to keep the show and the other characters balanced and there were a lot of missed opportunities. Also, the episode Azie wrote…wow just wow, we really got to understand Kelly, her story and beliefs and this will be, with no doubt, one of the episodes I’ll come back to. Okay, this got bigger than what I expected!
MY PROBLEMS WITH THE PLOT
I don’t even know how to start this one. Huuum…okay so like I am confusion. I’ve been looking at the screen for 10 minutes and I still don’t know how to say what I’m thinking. When I say that my thought at the end of almost every episode of the last seasons was “what did I just watch?” I’m not joking. I understand that they did what they could in the middle of a pandemic and Melissas’ pregnancy, (which is still questionable cause they could postpone the last season right?) but that would justify inconsistencies on the last season and on the last season only. Supergirl had a lot of great storylines that I really loved! Each season was focused on a main theme and a lot of important topics were explored and I think that’s great. But I really think that keeping coherent storylines wasn’t something recurrent on this show. With that being said, I’ll write about some moments that left me questioning why I watched the show but know that there’s a lot I chose to forget. One that always made me mad was related with Alex and the fact that she wanted to be a mother being this the way they chose to write off Maggie. It would’ve been a good idea if they decided to pursue it. Now, I know we got to see her become a mother to Esme alongside Kelly and what a beautiful family they are, but my point is: Alex first relationship we got to watch ended in season 3 (in the firsts episodes if I’m not wrong), then they completely forgot about this story and now in season 6 she remembered again that she wanted to be a mother!!! The message this transmits is that they chose this plot and never thought about what could happen next which isn’t great… Neeext we have Mr. Jeremiah, who? you ask…right so he was the father of Alex and the adoptive father of Kara that was dead, but actually wasn’t but then he was dead again, killed by Eve (do you remember Eve? And Hope?). The plot involved Lilian, Cadmus, the story of Hank Henshaw, it was a big mess and I’ve already forgot most of it but I thought it deserved a mention on this section because of how chaotic it was. Moving on we have Leviathan, till this day I don’t know what happened with that storyline, it was just another mess. What was the creative process for this? I am really curious cause they said “Leviathan is everywhere. Leviathan is everyone. And Leviathan is coming” like 300 times per episode and they were supposed to be like these big bad villains, and I genuinely wasn’t afraid? They had like a cute robot lady that died because of a usb pen? They needed help from Lex for some reason, and they had an earth bender joining the party? And I think they were supposed to control the elements but wasn’t someone missing (water bender or something loke that?) I knew this was a confusing storyline but now that I’m thinking about it, it really made no sense, we never got to know who the hell was the head of Leviathan… Where are Sam and Ruby? Didn’t they move to a city nearby? Why couldn’t they make it to the wedding? I think Ruby and Esme would be good friends… Also, where’s the kid that was bff with red daughter? Okay now a story that really made me angry…Kara Danvers, the reporter. Soooo, you know the lead of the show? Kara, award-winner journalist from Catco and the strongest kryptonian? Right, we established in the beginning of the series that being a reporter is for Kara what brings her meaning. Cool. We’ve seen her struggle with keeping her two lives balanced, well we’ve seen her mentioning it because we haven’t really seen it, at least in my opinion. Only in these last few episodes we got to see her having a really hard time keeping everything together resulting on her giving up her job at Catco. Now we have three problems here, first why can Clark be Superman and a reporter and Supergirl (the strongest kryptonian) can’t? I really didn’t like what they did here. Second, why would Kara give up on being a reporter if that’s part of her essence? And lastly why make her struggle with the decision of choosing between being a reporter or Supergirl to make her change the decision in the finale? For me this made no sense…and then the show ended with an image of Cat interviewing Kara and telling everyone who she is…this storyline felt super incomplete, and I want to know what’s going to happen next and how people will take this information AAAAAAAAAAAAA send help (this is a very professional essay). Now we have Lexly, what a lovely couple! Love them, I really do…I really do hate this storyline, wtf were they thinking with this? As part of the supercorp fandom I think I speak for everyone when I say that they really punched us in the face and then laughed at us by making this happen. So they introduce Nxyly as the villain for this season and then said: “ah but I think we need some more Lex and I miss him so he is coming back (peace sign, dramatic pause) oh and they are going to be in love, y’all are not ready it’s going to be suuuch a good storyline, ok see ya!”. In what? five episodes they developed a romantic relationship between these two that made no sense and had more depth than any storyline from any character this season (okay maybe I am exaggerating a bit here, but you get what I mean). Even Jon Cryer, the actor who plays Lex, didn’t understand the reason why they were writing this for his character, and I think it says it all. While speaking of these two I think it’s time to mention how ridicule that ending was. We spent half season in a treasure hunt for totems that had different rules each episode making it very hard to follow. I don’t even remember how this started I just remember that every episode we had to be interested in finding a totem and that was it. In the last episode the Superfriends had a battle against Lex and Nxyly that were going through a breakup? Idk what happened there and then Lilian showed up and was like: “remember me? Ok cool I think it’s time to go, also Lena I knew you were a witch and I knew your mom, ok so now you’re free and I really have to go, it’s getting late!” And then the Legion showed up and lined up with the Superfriends in front of Lexly and before you understand what’s going on the villains are sent to phantom zone? I…I, I don’t know what happened there. It was like in Avengers Endgame when they killed Thanos in the first 5 minutes of the movie but this time on Supergirl we stopped there and we’ve never heard again about what happened. I’m getting tired of revisiting what the hell happened so I’m going to say that maybe, in the future, consider calling “Superfriends” to a show like this. It doesn’t matter who you ship Kara with or if you ship her with anyone, I think everyone can agree that Supergirl and Kara were criminally disrespected on their own show, in almost every season, but specially in this last one! I have so many questions that will never be answered and honestly, I think I prefer to not know the reason of some decisions that were made. SUPERCORP I would be lying if I denied that one of the reasons why I watch Supergirl is because of Supercorp. I still can’t believe they handled things the way they did. Queerbait sucks and to everyone involved in the decision of constantly baiting us with this relationship I wish you a very pleasant ganha vergonha na cara. I’m tired of all this just like the rest of the fandom. I am an emotional wreck right now and I really think that if they cared about the supergirl fandom they would have listened to us. By this I’m not saying they should’ve made supercorp canon (I do think they should be canon but that’s not the point), what I’m saying is that they should’ve had addressed the fandom and give us an answer. We wouldn’t be happy if they came to us and said: “they’re not gonna get together they’re only friends” (sorry for the trigger) but at least we wouldn’t be constantly hoping for them to become canon, episode after episode. Last night in the last five minutes of the episode you still had the majority of the fandom hoping to have Kara or Lena confess their romantic love for one another. They kept us without an answer till the last five minutes of the show, who does that? Besides this being a homophobic decision, I really can’t find any other explanation as to why they didn’t make them canon. Cause Lexly, a couple that not a single soul asked for and no one was invested got to be canon in five episodes and we, supercorp fans who have been asking for our ship to be canon for five years, got two romantically involved women calling each other best friends. And no one can deny that that conversation they had was full of queer undertones (like references to coming out and accepting who you are). And don’t even get me started on the parallels with other couples on the show and the ones with clois… there’s an excellent video on youtube (I’ll link it below) that talks about it and that I encourage everyone who ships supercorp to watch it but most important people who say that they don’t really see anything romantic between the two should watch it. There’s so much more I could say but honestly, I don’t think I have the strength.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I’ve never followed a tv show this way before, normally I wait till it is completed and then I watch it and I’ve never had the fandom experience either. Now that I was able to experience all of this I can say that I learnt a lot about who I am, about boundaries and about team work. It had ups and downs and although things ended a bit down there’s also a lot that I am grateful for so thank you supercorp fandom and thank you supergirl fans! Because of this fandom I got to explore my own art with drawings and music, I’ve got the chance to interact with so many talented people! Fanart and fanfiction are now a part of my life. I also got to understand how gay I am and oh man it’s better than I would ever thought! In the worst moments I could find comfort with the fandom and everyone was also there para surtos gerais which is also great! Fofocas e-ve-ry-day! I made friends that changed who I was for better and that always have the best shappic recommendations! I wish some things were different, but I also love the way other things turned out! So to everyone who is still recovering from last night, stay strong, and reach out to share your experience watching Supergirl if you need someone to talk to! I will now retire to cry and read fanfiction.

It was the Christmas after Lex had been imprisoned when Kara had finally kissed her; Santa hat skewed on top of her head, looking absolutely bashful as Lena had stood precariously outside the boundary of the mistletoe that was hanging above Kara’s front door. And Lena, ever the scientist, had decided that Christmas to test a working theory she had kept close to her heart for years. She stepped fully under the suspended plant, and pressed a quick kiss to Kara’s cheek, whispering her goodbyes. It was when Kara captured her hand as she stepped into the hallway, and pulled her gently back through the doors threshold and into her arms, capturing her lips in a soft kiss, that Lena had her definitive answer. And it had been somewhere between stolen breaths, and steadily escalating kisses when Kara murmured a single word against Lena’s mouth; a simple ‘stay’, and Lena avowed then and there under some ridiculous holiday tradition and the strands of soft, white Christmas lights that lined the lofts walls, that she would never leave the loving warmth that Kara provided. And when Lena found herself wrapped in strong arms that night, her heart slowing as reverent kisses peppered along her bare shoulder, she knew Kara’s heart had quietly opened and welcomed her home. The next morning over breakfast, Lena had drawn a heart around December 26th on Kara’s wall calendar, a gesture which had pulled a broad grin across Kara’s face, and left breakfast abandoned as Lena was plucked up from her chair into strong arms along with a flurry of kisses as she was carried back to bed.
It was their first official Christmas together when Lena had slid a toothless key to Kara across the small island in her kitchen and asked Kara to move in with her. Lena had considered keeping her penthouse and simply relinquishing her closet space to be filled with dark and pastel button ups, and her pantry stocked with sugary snacks. Instead, she found herself drawn to finding a new residence, one that her and Kara could build a home in together. The revelation had left Kara nearly jovial as she swept Lena up in one arm, pressing a kiss to her cheek, and opened her laptop to browse Zillow listings. When they finally closed on the house, Kara had already chosen the colors for each room, and despite Lena’s best protests of being unable to sleep on anything less than seven hundred thread count sheets, still ended up with four king size jersey sheet sets. And Lena would never admit to loving them despite Kara’s knowing smile and teasingly calling her “a jersey girl” each time she pulled them from the linen closet.

Their second Christmas together, Kara had proposed. It wasn’t theatrical, and though they had discussed the idea of marriage in passing, Lena half heartily believed that she would be ambushed by a well choreographed flash mob if and when Kara decided to get down on one knee. Instead, Lena had been pressed into Kara’s side on their couch, scrolling through emails on her tablet, and sipping wine while deft fingers carded through her hair when a small box was placed on her lap. Kara’s movements didn’t stop as she dipped her head to Lena’s ear and quietly asked her to open it, nor did they when Kara caught the sound of Lena’s hammering heart. Kara simply shifted beside her, encircling an arm Lena’s shoulders, and placing a warm, calm hand over the delicate muscle thrumming away in her chest.
“Will you?” It was a simple two word question, and despite being a prolific journalist and the owner of a Pulitzer prize, Kara inquired as she often did, with a sort of casual endearment that somehow always left Lena speechless and a little more lovestruck than she was before.
Lena said yes once her brain caught up with her heart.
Their third Christmas together had their house filled with roarious laughter from family and friends on the eve of their wedding. In another time, the controlled chaos would have left Lena swimming with anxiety, but instead she found herself surrounded with a familial love she had chased her entire life and it caused warmth to blossom in her chest. It was reinforced each time she caught Kara’s soft gaze from across the room, or felt her soon to be wife in her proximity; a steadying hand resting on the small of her back as Kara launched into a story to J’onn and Nia about the time she buried the Danvers living room in nearly four inches of snow for her and Alex on Christmas morning. Eliza interjected to remind her daughter that she also had shoveled out the living room before opening any presents, which caused a blush to creep up and settle into Kara’s cheeks. As she finished the story, Kara eyed her mother playfully, and blew out a puff of cold air that sent a small burst of flurries spiraling out into the living room, much to the delight of their guests who attempted to catch snowflakes on their tongue, and shook out the iced fractals from their hair.
They married the following day in a small backyard ceremony with an overly zealous and emotional Alex officiating. Eliza had walked down the aisle bracketed by Kara and Lena. They wore simple white slacks and button ups, wrapped in ceremonial cloaks of deep navy and maroon that carried the House of El siegel on their back. Emotion caught in Eliza’s throat when she pressed a kiss to Lena’s cheek and told her she loved her, and caused Lena’s already paper thin resolve to get through the ceremony without crying to wither away completely. Kara held Lena’s hands, running her thumbs over the back of her knuckles in a silent, reassuring gesture that kept Lena grounded in the moment enough to finish her vows while shedding a respectful amount of tears until the cry perched beneath her chin tumbled out along with Kara’s “I do.” When her wife cupped her face and kissed her, Lena could taste salt, but more importantly it was the gentle touch that moved across her cheeks, taking away her tears and the heaviness from her fromer moniker filled Lena’s heart. She was no longer a Luthor, and on paper she was a Danvers, but in quiet, shared moments with Kara, she knew she was a Zor El. Kara shared her culture, and told animated stories of a previous life lived. She taught Lena a dead language, one Lena intended to keep alive in their household. The more fluent she became, the more she snuck in words throughout their day, loving the visceral reaction it pulled from her wife, especially in intimate moments.
Last Christmas they gathered their family in the living room and distributed holiday cards. Kara paced with anxious excitement until Lena reached out and captured her wife’s hand in her own and pulled her down gently onto the couch beside her. Alex turned the card over in hands obsessively, and held it up to the light of the fireplace, trying to decipher what was inside, while Eliza, ever intuitive, had cornered Lena in the kitchen earlier and with every ounce of motherly love, wrapped her in a tight hug, and pressed a kiss to cheek in silent congratulations. When Kara finally conceded to allowing their guests to open the cards, she steadied herself against Lena’s side, wrapping her arm around her wife’s shoulder and released a nervous breath in the quiet moment before the room erupted. Alex was first on her feet, waving the grainy sonogram picture, and nearly tackling Kara and Lena in a hug; she was going to be aunt, they were going to be parents, and love poured freely out all around them.
It was the next day that the sky bled. Lena found Kara that morning in the nursery, awashed in red light that poured through the windows, her face set in with a cold, distant stare. Kara slipped her hand into her wife’s as Lena came up beside her, and squeezed gently. Lena did her best to reign in her fear as an icy sense of dread crept up her back and pricked at her neck, settling there. Lex had escaped.
Sam had arrived shortly after and offered to drive Kara and Lena to the DEO. Kara had been with Alex on the phone nearly all morning discussing possible locations that Lex may be working out of when four black streaks broke across the sky and collided with the building, leveling that covert agency within seconds. The phone dropped from Kara’s hand as the call turned to static, and was out of the car, stumbling into the street, shock draining the color from her face as she collapsed to her knees. Doors opened along the street as people quietly got out of their cars and stepped out of their homes as debris began to rain down from the reddened sky. Lena gathered her wife in her arms, guttural sobs ripping from the back of her throat. Once a god that had fallen from the sky, now reduced to mortal flesh, Kara buried herself deeper into Lena arms, powerless to stop the grief that crashed through her body in violent, trembling waves. She screamed her sister's name as Lena and Sam pulled her to her feet and back towards the car. Lena gathered her wife and held her close in the back seat of the car as their friend drove them home. Lena caught Sam’s watchful eyes reflected back to her in the rearview mirror when an emergency broadcast broke the silence in the car; each of their phones buzzing and blaring with the alarm. Lena numbly reached into her pocket and read the message as Kara laid her head down in her lap.
Kal was dead.
“te zhao” Lena dipped her head, pressing a kiss to golden hair. ‘My love, my love, my love’ she repeated. Dread turned over in waves inside of Lena, and when she looked at her wife, she was met with a withering look. Kara knew, she had felt it, the moment when she was left unequivocally alone. No longer a sister. No longer a cousin. The last daughter of a dead planet and a dead race. She pressed her face to Lena’s stomach, kissing the small swell of life that was growing there, repeating her uncle’s Kryptonian blessing until they arrived home.
Kara withdrew in the hours that followed. She rocked quietly in the chair of their half finished nursery, a single finger pressed to her lips as her grief turned over and evolved into an unanswerable rage. It wasn’t until late afternoon when the sun returned. Lena watched as her wife walked to the backyard and into the sun, turning her hands over in the golden ultraviolet as if studying it. She only spared a brief glance back at Lena before she was sky bound, punching holes through the clouds.
Lena watched the news coverage of the recovery efforts downtown. She watched her wife lift concrete and beams, tossing them aside without thought as she searched for her sister. The recovery site grew eerily quiet as they watched Supergirl collapse to one knee and pull her cape from her shoulders. Lena reached out absently for Sam as she watched Kara pull Alex from the debris, gently brushing the soot from her sister's face before wrapping her with an infinite tenderness in the red fabric. Rescuers removed their hats, placing them across their hearts in grief and solidarity as Supergirl descended from the mounds of twisted metal, tears mapping their way through the ash that stained her cheeks. And for the first time that day, Lena let go, collapsing against Sam, who held her close until her tears subsided and the trembling in her body stopped, close until emotion had drained her, leaving her hollow out and exhausted, on the cusp of an oblivious sleep.
She awoke to pain cutting through her like a knife, deep and hot in her gut. Lena pressed her hands into the couch and against Sam, trying to raise herself up, but she collapsed, agony ripping out of her chest in a scream. It wasn’t until Sam slid off the couch, and kneeled in front of Lena that she noticed the angry, bright blood that had begun to pool beneath her friend in a morbid halo. The edges of consciousness began to blur for Lena as Sam moved around the house frantically with her phone pressed between her ear and shoulder, demanding an ambulance. The last thing Lena remembered were the first, fluttering movements that turned over inside her belly as the abstract life she carried bled from her body.
Kara was beside her when she woke again. The incessant beeping of the machines around her the only sounds that filled the room. Kara was still in her suit, streaked with dirt, her cape missing. She held Lena’s hand, and dipped her head, pressing a reverent kiss to her knuckles. Lena ran her fingers through her wife’s hair and felt the warm tears that slid across the back of her hand in between each tender kiss Kara placed there. She vowed resolutely to find Lex and to kill him. Lena placed a finger beneath her wife’s chin, and lifted gently until tired, bloodshot eyes met her own, “Go.”
Lex was dead before sunset.
                                                          xxxxx
Lena had left six months later, unable to watch the rage Kara carried and how it settled deep inside of her, insidious and reckless.
Unable to keep removing the green shrapnel from impenetrable flesh that carried the constant reminder of her brother and what he had taken from her.
Unable to walk by the closed, locked door of an unfinished room in the house that was meant to be a home.
And unable to reach her wife, who was a hollowed shell of who she once was.
It had been nearly a year since the sky bled, and now Lena watches the snow fall over Boston. Dense, large flakes that obscure the Citgo sign across the pike from her Fenway apartment. It is nearly 2am, and Lena is far from sleep. In the kitchen, she pours the last remnants from her bottle of wine, topping off her glass and moves into the living room. She had put up a tree only at Ruby’s request when her and Sam visited at the beginning of the month. Sam had warned Lena of her daughter's instance on celebrating the holiday, and Lena had relented, unable to steal the joy from her god-daughter. It wasn’t until Ruby began to unpack and hang the stockings, hers, Sam’s, Lena’s, and one small, nameless stocking that Lena had to excuse herself. Sam had followed her into the bedroom a few minutes later and knelt beside her, cradling Lena in her arms as she cried.
Lena settles onto the couch and brings the wine glass to her lips, the burgundy liquid reflecting the soft, white lights of the tree. The glass nearly slips from her hand when she hears a gentle knock, and the sound immediately breaks down the door to heart.
Anxiety turns over in her chest, and she can feel the upkick in delicate muscle behind her ribs, her pulse drumming away in her ears.
Which means Kara can hear it too.
When Kara knocks again, Lena stands, setting her glass down on the table and walks towards the front door, but hesitates as she reaches out, her hand hovering over the handle.
On the other side of the door, Kara raises her fist, insistent on knocking again and again and again, even if it takes all night until her wife answers.
“Please.” Kara’s voice is quiet. She nervously adjusts her glasses as she hears the lock turn over. She shifts her weight on her feet, and taps her fingers anxiously against her leg. And for the first time in six months she sees her wife.
Rao, she is beautiful, and even if Kara had stumbled across the sky just for this view, it would have been worth it.
Lena grips the door handle tightly and without much debate, steps back and opens the door fully, allowing space for Kara to come in.
Kara gives a tight smile and steps inside. Wet snow is still clinging to her hair and jacket, and Lena resists the urge to reach out and brush it away.
“Thanks.” Kara says, shrugging her jacket off and hanging it on the rack by the door.
Lena closes her eyes for a moment, trying to gather her thoughts. She wrings her hands together, attempting to turn over a ring she no longer wears and looks at Kara, who has moved in front of the tree and is studying the ornaments , “Ruby picked most of them out.” she says. The words feel forced, and she isn’t able to stand idly by and make small talk with her wife.
“Wh-.. what are you doing here?” Lena asks, shock apparent in her voice.
“It’s Christmas.” and Lena can feel anger begin to rear up in her chest.
“Don’t be obtuse.”
Kara lets out a breath and steps away from the tree towards the fireplace. “Fine. Tomorrow is our anniversary.” her fingers trail along the mantle, ghosting over the small stocking at the end. She pulls her hand back, afraid of the emotion that may break free if she allows herself to feel it.
“I told you I needed space.”
Kara nods and turns to face Lena, “I know.”
“This isn’t space.”
“It’s been six months, and-..,” Kara takes a hesitant step forward, and Lena wraps her arms around herself, trying to protect every tender part that she can, “I can’t be alone.” Kara finishes quietly.
“Oh? Did someone finally refuse to keep pulling Lex’s kryptonite out of you? Or did they grow tired of watching you practically kill yourself every night?” Lena retorts, coldy,
Kara drops her head, and guilt crashes over her. She had spent months after losing Alex and their child selfishly throwing herself into battle after battle, fighting until her powers were nearly extinguished. Fighting aliens and humans alike with modified weapons, laced and sharpened with kryptonite, a final gift from Lex who had flooded the black market with the radioactive rock before she killed him.
She fought until she came home bloodied with a pain racing through body like razors in her blood. And Lena has gathered her each time, piecing her back together until she couldn’t.
Until she could no longer bear the weight of her grief and her own and left.
Kara had spent those six months pinned somewhere between darkness and light. She sought counsel from J’onn, and began to pray again. She visited Alex often, and talked, hoping that her words would break through the clouds and find whatever god may be listening.
“I deserve that.”
A sad laugh escapes Lena as she looks down, averting her gaze from Kara’s sad eyes, “I didn’t.”
“You’re right, you didn’t. And I am so sorry.” Kara pleads, “I told you I would never leave. I’m still here.”
“But you did leave. You were gone long before me, Kara. You became a ghost, each day I watched you disappear more and more. And...” Lena lifts her head, feigning bravery, “I couldn’t lose you, too. I couldn’t see you come home like that. You kept putting me in that position. I couldn’t grieve. I couldn’t move forward. You kept me trapped in that darkness with you.”
“Lena, I am so sor-..”
“I lost everything, too. I lost my family. I lost our daughter. I nearly lost you. But I couldn’t let it drown me,” Lena says pressing her hand against her chest, “not when I had to provide every ounce of stability as you spiraled out.”
“Ou-..” emotion catches and tightens like a vise in Kara’s throat, “our daughter?”
Lena closes her eyes, fighting back her own tears, unable to meet Kara’s gaze and see the shattered look on her face.
“inah?” Kara repeats, the realization folding heavily into her chest, “You knew?”
“I was going to tell you,” Lena breaths out, “that night I was goi-..” but her words are drowned out by the cry that falls out of her. It’s too much. She clasps her hand tightly over her mouth, trying to swallow it back down, but the emotion threatens to collapse in on her, and she leans forward, her hand falling from her mouth as her pain escapes in guttural sobs.
Kara closes the distance between them, and gathers Lena in her arms, pulling her close, shouldering her tears until the fabric of her shirt is stained with salt.
“Hey, I’ve got you.” Kara dips her head to Lena’s ear, fingers running through obsidian hair, “I’ve got you.” she whispers
Lena doesn’t know how long she stays pressed against Kara, only that her breaths begin to even out, and when Lena lifts her head, she is met with a sad smile. Kara raises a hand and gently wipes away her tears with the pad of her thumb, and Lena can feel the broken pieces of her heart being hoisted up from the dark valley in her chest. She closes her eyes, and leans in, pressing the ghost of a kiss to Kara’s lips. When she pulls back, eyes still closed, Kara pulls her bottom lip between teeth, savoring the softness. She has committed Lena’s kiss to memory many times, but this kiss, one brushed with forgiveness, leaves Kara enveloped in a stillness that she hasn’t felt in over a year. She can hear the shaky breath that Lena lets go of, one laced with vulnerability, and when she opens her eyes, Kara can see a spark, something hopeful that soothes the callosed walls of her heart.
Kara leans in, her nose brushing over the cupid's bow of her wife’s lip, and presses her forehead to Lena’s, holding her gaze. And Kara swears in this moment and in every one that will follow that she will gather every piece of Lena’s broken porcelain heart and make it whole again.
“Stay.” Lena says quietly against Kara’s lips, and Kara can’t help but smile, because the song the word carries is so familiar, “Always.” she answers, pressing a tentative kiss to Lena’s lips.
Slow shaking fingertips run across the line of her jaw, and Kara leans into the touch, turning her head and pressing a reverent kiss into the palm of Lena’s hand. She is more than willing to relinquish every part of her over to Lena in this moment, to allow her to forge this new path with every trembling touch, and Kara will follow her like thread, weaving back together their ruins with every ounce of gracious love she has.
The gentle touch moves down the column of Kara’s throat and past the center of her chest, until exploring hands pull at the edge of her shirt, untucking them from her slacks. Warm fingertips move under her shirt, pushing up the fabric, and Kara raises her arms, allowing Lena to pull the clothing free. Lena pauses for a moment, noticing the long, silver chain hanging around Kara’s neck, two matching rings suspended from it. She glances up to her wife, and studies the bashful, soft look that has settled on Kara’s face. Lena lifts the chain, gliding her fingers down its length until the weight of the rings settle in the palm of her hand.
“You’ve never been nothing short of a romantic.” Lena playfully chastises.
Kara smiles, covering Lena’s hands with her own and capturing the rings in their joined hands, “More like nothing short of a cliché.”
“That too. But it’s one of the things I love about you.”
For the first time that evening, Kara can hear the mirth in her wife’s voice, and the warmth from it breaks like a wave against the shore of her heart. She leans down, capturing Lena’s lips in a sweet kiss. Lena presses her hands against Kara’s chest, and begins a slow ascent over warm skin until her fingers weave through the soft hair at the base of Kara’s neck and pulls her closer, deepening the kiss. There is no rush as Lena takes a step forward, pushing Kara back and guiding her towards the bedroom between kisses and insistent hands pulling at clothing until they are discarded in their wake. Kara’s hands rest on her wifes hips, and when her back meets the bedroom door, she reaches behind her, absently searching for the handle as Lena’s hands move to the buckle of her belt, unfastening and pulling it free.
They move in a familiar dance as they push through the threshold of the room. Kara keeps her hand on the small of Lena’s back, keeping her wife tethered as she reaches out and steadies a firm hand against the edge of the bed. Lena breaks their kiss, her soft eyes searching Kara’s face, and she knows the request before Lena has to ask; to stay close.
“sokao.” Lena asks, leaning in and pressing her lips against Kara’s, the request causing a bolt of pleasure to move through her body. She nods and steps away briefly to gather what she needs.
Lena presses her head back firmly into the bed, her back bowing when Kara finally moves inside her. Her nails dig into strong shoulders as her wife moves with slow, deep thrusts. Hot breath and laguid kisses move over her neck, across the column of her throat and then capture her lips. Kara grips the edge of the bed as her other hand travels down the side of Lena's body, trailing warm fingertips over the subtle dips and valleys of her ribs until she reaches her hip and kneads into the soft skin there.
Lena gasps as Kara pulls her close, hand steady on her hip, and she matches her wife's movements, rolling her hips into Kara, taking her in deeper. Warmth begins to collect low in her stomach, and Lena pushes a hand to the center of Kara’s chest, gripping the chain hanging loosely between them, and opens her eyes, holding Kara’s hooded gaze. Lena digs a heel into the bed, pressing up and adjusting her position just enough to hear the moan that falls past her wife’s lips that Lena captures with a searing kiss.
“zhygam.” she whispers against her lips, “sern.”
And Lena knows the reaction she elicits from Kara when she speaks to her like this in her native tongue; she can feel it in the way her heart races and can see it in the candescent glow that races under Kara’s skin, lighting up her capillaries in a dim, golden hue that grows brighter until they extinguish as she falls freely over the edge with Lena.
Soft, grey light pushes at the edges of the bedroom windows, and under the snow blanketed glow of the city, Lena holds their trembling bodies close as Kara murmurs assurances of love against her skin, and Lena realizes in that moment that perhaps home wasn’t always meant to be a place, but it could also be a person.
“Do you know why I chose it?” Lena asks sometime later, curled against her wife’s side, running her finger over Kara’s chest, and the eternity knot inlay of their rings.
“Hm?” Kara hums, carding her fingers through dark hair, “chose what?”
Lena props herself on an elbow, and rests her head in her hand, her finger ghosting over the platinum bands, “Gold.”
“Because you know it’s not my color?” Kara teases.
Lena swats playfully at her wife’s arm, “Because the body contains at least 0.2 milligrams of gold, with the highest concentrations being around the heart.”
Kara tilts her head down studying the rings, and then turns her gaze to Lena, whose eyes stay fixed on the bands with a distant look, “I chose gold because I believe we were forged in the heart of the same star, and when it collapsed, those parts of us traversed the universe, built worlds and life. The calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, and the gold in our hearts; we’re made in the interiors of collapsing stars,” Lena glances up to Kara, who is blinking away tears, “you came here and brought our star with you. And it is familiar as your touch and far as a distant memory, but it’s there, built into you and me.”
“Are you calling me a bunch of star stuff?” Kara asks conspiratorially, wiping the back of her hand across her cheek, capturing a stray tear.
Lena smiles, her laughter escaping in a short breath as she leans down, pressing a soft kiss to Kara’s smirking lips, “I’m loosely quoting Carl Sagan, but yes, star stuff.” she muses.
Kara smiles brightly then as Lena lips move across her cheek, and down the slope of her jaw. In a cosmos where further seems forever, and forever seemed meant for few things, forever had found its way, lining their hearts and pumping through their veins, infinite as the snow falling around them in the quiet of the city.

Headcanons on sleepover (Boys and Girls)?
Girls First!
#1: Zee NEEDS to be Host if it's the whole group
Zee hosts as often as she can because she likes sleeping in her own bed and not having Babs' dad knocking on the door every 5 minutes.
It's also hard to coerce convince the girls into magical makeovers if she has to be alert about using her magic.
Also...she is positive that Commissioner Gordon suspects her of murder. (He doesn't, he just has the naturally narrow eyed thoughtful look)
Zee, in other words, prefers to host their sleepovers.
#2: Babs is a Wriggler, Kara is a Thrasher, Jess is a Talker
Diana, Zee and Karen are relatively quiet sleepers. Like sure Diana snores a bit and Karen might drool and Zee might shift in her sleep but they are NOTHING compared to Babs, Kara and Jess.
They are nightmares to sleep with. Babs wriggles in her sleep and babbles too. Especially if she's stressed. She'll be talking utter nonsense. Literally like 'waffles have feelings too' or 'butterfly fart machine'. No one shares a bed with Babs because she is known for stealing the covers and wrapping herself in them. Like a Babs Burrito. And if you try to take some back she will shove you off the bed. Still very much asleep.
Kara, she is a hazard to people everywhere. At least if you don't know how to control sleepy Kara. The girls know the control word 'go back to bed' but that only helps them when Kara tries to fly away. If she's kicking and or punching it's doom. Typically her erratic attacks are sparse and weak, so just like a pro-wrestler but badly aimed, but still...no one sleeps within 5 feet of Kara Danvers.
And lastly Jess. Jess is not much of a physical threat while asleep. She stays in the same position and doesn't even drool or snore or anything. But in the middle of the night you might hear a yelp, or a drawn out very loud groan. That's Jess, she groans a lot in her sleep, regularly. And if she's extremely stressed she'll even mantain conversation. Very poorly. Kara tried once. It went like this.
Jess: The moon, is just a ball of cheese.
Kara: Oh? Can your eat it?
Jess: Like a rock
Kara: What do you mean?
Jess: I'm nice, you're mean.
So yeah...they can share a bed with this chic and they have. That's why most if them sleep with headphones tucked into their ears.
#3 Movie Night
Karen hates horror movies. They creep her out and Kara is obsessed with them.
In fact while Karen and Kara argue about which genre to watch, romance or horror, the rest of the girls watch them fight.
Which is more amusing then it sounds.
#4 Diana can't cook
Diana is a girl of many talents but she can not cook. Not a bit. Not even instant mac and cheese.
Babs has tried to show her how to make a burrito- failed.
Jess a salad- failed.
Karen, some stir fry- failed.
Kara, warning up some pizza- failed.
She just can't cook. Moving on.
#5 Babs is generous with everything BUT her stuffed animals.
These are things she has said:
"Rest your feet somewhere else, Kara"
"Burrito Bat Butch hasn't cuddled with anyone but me, ever. Hands off!"
"Listen, if you wanted a pillow you can just ask- you don't have to treat General George Jennings like that!"
"Give me the bear, Karen. Give me the bear."
"EEY, NO TOUCHIE!"
#6 They can't do a proper Binge Watch with each other.
Babs drinks a lot of soda and munches on a lot of snacks so she has to constantly use the bathroom. Insisting they can keep watching but of course they pause anyway.
Zee cannot step away from her phone. It's always vibrating with emails and messages and she is too invested in her rep to put it down. She is the type of gal who likes texting while watching a show. This drives the other girls up a wall because then Zee insists they catch her up.
Kara cannot, for the life of her, sit still. Even though they are curled up on the couch, one of the girls leaning into Kara's side, or having their head on Kara's lap. Or anything, really. Kara breaks the comfort because she cannot sit still. She shifts too often, changes the legs she tucked under her, stretches her back. It is annoying because then the girls around her need to shift too.
Jess gets restless quickly. She predicts the ending or loses interest when the plot becomes to predictable. So then she starts, trying to be subtle, looking through her schedule and doing school work. Its more infuriating because when the girls ask pointed questions she almost always gets it right.
Diana is of course knew to the world of man and stills doesn't get everything that is happening. Sometimes she misunderstands the plot completely and they have to rewatch the episode, explaining everything that time. This makes the watching chunky and somewhat less enjoyable. Usually Zee is the one to do the explaining. No one blames Diana of course, but still.
And Karen? She just wants to see if her ship lives. She is a fangirl through and through and has to scream into a pillow every time they have to press pause. Which is three to five time throughout a single episode.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Now for the boys,
✨✨✨✨
#1 Food Competition
Barry eats a lot. Barry is never sure how much is enough. Barry can eat a supermarket out of business if he was particularly hungry. Hal knows this. Still his pride won't accept it so every time Hal challenges Barry to eating some disgusting amount of sauce or drink.
Sometimes Hal wins.
Barry has a sensitive stomach.
But usually not.
#2 NO HOMO
Steve doesn't really care how close any if the dudes sleep to him.
Barry doesn't either. In fact its likely he'll fall asleep on someone else's sleeping bag with his feet propped on one of his teammates stomach.
Garth will probably end up trying to cuddle up to Hal or Barry or Steve or any of the boys.
Hal will most definitely fight him on that. What can you say? He's the Type A male. But he really won't bat an eye if Garth does it when Hal is already asleep.
Oliver will sing love songs to his bro's, flirting hard as hell...up untill Hal, Carter, or Steve smack him. Where he pouts and let's Garth and Barry soothe him.
Carter doesn't like being touched in general so like hell he's going to let any of the boys near him. Or hold a conversation with him. He will just sit in the corner of the room, quietly observing. (He is most definitely trapped in the home where they are hosting the sleepover).
#3 Make Him Laugh
Another challenge.
Whoever makes Carter smile or *le gasp* laugh is deemed royalty.
Usually it's Barry. Who didn't even try. He just tripped over something.
Barry wins a lot.
#4 They Order In
Hal refuses to cook on principle. Rather be fed.
Oliver doesn't like getting butter on him since it'll 'destroy' his complexion.
Garth can't cook.
Carter refuses to feed anyone. He'll cook for himself and no one else.
Barry always offers but he is a forgetful cook and they feel bad throwing out whatever abomination he makes so they force it down. Of course, they learned to order in before Barry offers.
Steve can cook but he is very precise about the recipe, double checking and stuff so being fed takes forever if they let him start.
They arm wrestle to decide who chooses what they eat so yea...Carter always picks. Steve usually pays. Barry too. Everyone else is broke as hell.
#6 They butt heads.
All the dam time.
Hal is stubborn and Oliver is prideful.
Carter refuses to cater to anyone.
Garth is immovable if he wants to be.
Steve is trying to compromise but no one listens to the voice of reason over their own shouts.
Barry eats ice cream. They'll tire themselves out eventually.
#7 They Reprimand Hal
These are things they have definitely said at least once during a sleepover.
"Goddammit Hal! She's my science partner! How am I supposed to look her in the eye now?"
"Do you value your life? Yes? Then please refrain from speaking."
"Shut! Up!"
"Who are you calling stupid, stupid!"
"I'll tell Carol."
"The hell, man? Were you born with the unexplicable urge to be an asshole?"
"Go to bed, perv!"
Ah well, imma close it off here. Very lovely prompt. Headcannons are always fun. 👍

Lena stands hidden behind a building in Miami Florida, patiently waiting for Kara to fly Alex to her. Lena had just flown with Kara and though Lena hates flying, even with a Superhero holding her close, she’s doing it for Emma. A smile spreads across Lena’s face at the thought of her girlfriend. She unconsciously plays with the celtic knot necklace Emma got her for Christmas a few months ago.
Despite not seeing each other in person for a few weeks, Lena and Emma’s relationship is stronger than ever. They always make sure to have time to video call, whether it be over a meal or some much needed personal time together. Lena chuckles at remembering Emma’s face when she opened the parcel Lena sent containing a sex toy that Lena could control. And Emma’s grin as Lena held up one on her end and Emma found the remote in her box. They had many fun hours using those toys.
But some of Lena’s favourite moments was when Emma would video call her after a gig and the blonde would tell her everything that had happened while she got ready for bed. When Emma sat in the bed and Lena would share how her day had gone, Emma would listen attentively even though her mind and body was winding down from it’s high of performing.
They would continue to talk until Lena would gently tell Emma to lie down. The blonde would grumble that she wasn’t tired but would put her phone on a stand so she could see her girlfriend. But no sooner had Emma’s head hit the pillow her hazel green eyes would close and she’d be breathing deeply.
Lena would keep the video call going all night so she could hear Emma’s breathing as she would soon drift off to sleep too. Then Lena would generally wake up to the sound of Emma singing in the shower, camera poised on her girlfriend as she washes herself. Causing Lena to reach into her underwear and a moan would escape her lips. Making Emma pause before turning to the noise. Soon Emma would be joining in with Lena’s moans and the couple would be reaching their climax.
For Lena this has been the best relationship she’s ever had and believes it’s due to having laid the firm foundations already with their friendship. How both women had shared their deepest and darkest secrets with each other and supported each other no matter what.
The sound of Kara and Alex landing near her makes Lena turn to look at the sisters. Kara already changed into her civilian clothes. All three women were dressed ready to go to the country rock concert and they were really looking forward to seeing the band perform. The trio were also there to bring Emma back to NC for a few days as the tour was having a mini break before heading into Alabama. Lena had been amazed looking at the tour details, how the band’s bus zigzagged along the East coast and mid way across America before heading back to the West coast.
Alex had contacted Jack to let him know they were going to surprise Emma and bring her home on one of Lena’s jets. He sent a thumbs up emoji back and a message he’d have Emma’s backpack packed with her essential things.
“Hey Lena.” Alex smiles at her baby sister's girlfriend before giving her a hug.
“Hi.” Lena returns the hug and laughs when Kara opens her arms for another one.
“Right, we ready?” Alex asks as she checks she has the tickets.
“Yup!” Kara bounces excitedly, ready to take off towards the venue.
“So, Lena.” Alex says as they walk along the street. “What Kara and I do is we hang back for the first few songs to give Emma a chance to warm up and relax. Then we move forward until we are more near the front.”
“Okay?” Lena frowns slightly at the specific instructions.
“It’s something we’ve always done!” Kara says excitedly. “We wouldn’t tell Em we were coming and the look on her face when she sees us is priceless.”
“Why wouldn’t you tell her?” Lena asks intrigued.
Alex sighs before answering. “Because we found that if we told her and then we had… Well… Things to sort out. It would make Emma worry when she couldn’t see us.”
“Or get really disappointed.” Kara sighs at the amount of times the sister’s had to rearrange their plans. And even though Emma told them it was okay, Kara could hear the tone of sadness hidden within Emma’s voice.
“But then wouldn’t she expect you at every gig?” Lena asks as she looks between the sisters.
“No, us appearing is an added bonus to her.”
“Makes sense.” Lena nods. “I’ve been to a lot of her gigs but never told her I was there.”
“You have?” Now it’s Alex’s turn to frown at her.
“Yea. I guess I was worried she’d be weirded out by me being there so much. It’s silly to think of it now.”
“A bit.” Alex smiles at her and Kara agrees before wrapping an arm around her best friend. “So, I know you’ll want to spend time with Emma… But can we have her first?”
“What do you mean?” Lena tilts her head in confusion as they approach the venue.
“Well, can Emma come to mine and we have a sister sleepover and part of the day tomorrow? She can come to you tomorrow afternoon and evening.” Kara says hopefully, not wanting to step on the precious time Emma can have with Lena. But also wanting to spend time with her sister too.
“Of course! I need to make up the few hours I’ve taken off to come here anyway.”
“Why does it sound like we are a divorced family?” Alex laughs as she hands the tickets over.
“It does sound like that doesn’t it?” Kara laughs and taps her glasses to turn the dampening sensors on.
The venue is packed with the seats taken out of the theatre on the ground floor and three levels full of seats. Lena had looked up the captivity and was impressed it was over 5,000. Still more than Emma would have liked as she prefers a more intimate setting.
The trio move over halfway forward and wait for the show to begin. Lena can’t help but feel slightly nervous being in the crowd, especially when it was recently announced that Emma and Lena were a couple. A photographer had snapped a photo of them kissing outside a restaurant when Lena was saying goodbye. They decided not to deny the reports and Emma started a video on instagram confirming the relationship, answering any questions her fans had. Which was mainly focused on her upcoming new album and solo career.
It did surprise Lena the amount of support they got. She had expected Emma to get a lot of backlash when the Luthor name had been attached to her. But most, if not all, of Emma’s core fans accepted the news.
The lights dim and the crowd roars as music starts playing and the trio cheer along. When the stage lights come on revealing Emma and the band, the crowd goes nuts. Lena’s sure she won’t be able to talk tomorrow with how much she screams in applause.
-- -- --
Emma smiles at the crowd's reaction to the stage lighting illuminating the band. “How you doing Miami?!” Emma yells into her microphone which is placed on a stand in front of her. The drums, played by Danny, were in the center at the back, Mick, playing the bass guitar and Frankie, playing the keyboard, were either side of the stage but a bit more forward. Jack and Emma were standing at the front more in the middle but far enough apart from each other. A baby grand piano was behind Emma for when she needed to play it during the ballad songs.
The crowd responds in a loud cheer and the introduction of the band's first song starts playing. Emma claps with the beat, getting the crowd to clap with her. Jack smiles at Emma while playing his guitar before stepping up to his microphone to sing.
The set list was in order of the band’s releases, so the first few songs Jack was leading as Emma hadn’t joined the band yet. Emma didn’t mind as she could sing backing vocals and have fun working the crowd.
As the band finishes their fourth song the crowd cheers loudly.
“All right!” Jack yells into his microphone causing a few to scream. “Can I say Miami you are in fine voice tonight!” Emma nods and smiles as the cheers grow. She takes a few sips of her water to hydrate her vocal chords. “And now is the moment you’ve all been waiting for.” Jack gestures to Emma and the crowd applaud loudly. So loud that Jack has to motion for them to quieten down so he can continue talking. “Let me tell you, you know, we had success before Emma. Our two albums were okay, but the guys and I knew we were missing something. We looked and we looked but couldn’t figure out what it was. Then our manager came up with the idea of bringing in a female vocalist.” Jack holds his arms up and shrugs. “We thought, why the heck not?” The crowd laughs as Emma rolls her eyes. “So, we did audition after audition-”
“After audition, after audition, after audition.” Mick continues causing more laughter.
“Until, when we had all but given up hope. I got a call from a bubbly blonde, who didn’t have much experience but, again, why not!” Jack grins at Emma who blushes slightly at the attention from the crowd. Which she feels silly about as she’s on stage. “So this very attractive-”
“Very, very attractive!” Frankie interrupts and smiles at the blonde, who's getting redder and redder as the crowd wolf whistles. She knows her bandmates like teasing her but Emma can’t cover her face with her hands. For a moment she thinks she hears her sister’s and Lena.
“Aww you got her all embarrassed now!” Mick laughs and she pokes her tongue out at him.
“As I was saying-” Jack laughs and shakes his head. “This very, very, very, attractive blonde comes into the studio and simply blew us all away. I know for a fact that we wouldn’t have had the success we’ve had without her.” The crowd cheers and Emma bows her head. “And Emma.” Jack says to get the blonde’s attention. He doesn’t know why he’s saying all this now, it just feels right. “The guys and I are so proud of you. The fact you are going to continue and explore your incredible talent. We love you.” The crowd roars and continues clapping.
Emma quickly looks up at the roof as she feels the prick of tears and takes a few deep breaths. She’s been close to breaking down ever since the American part of the tour began. Knowing the end was approaching. Jack wraps an arm around her and she hugs him back.
“Ready?” He whispers into her ear and Emma nods. Jack backs away to his microphone as Danny counts them in.
-- -- --
Emma starts singing and the trio cheer loudly with the crowd. The pride the women feel as they watch  Emma perform her heart out is overwhelming. She performs with such ease and makes each person feel like Emma is singing just for them.
As promised after a few more songs of Emma singing, Kara reaches for Lena’s hand. Grabbing her attention and motioning that they are moving forward. Lena is surprised that they manage to get so close to the stage without any grumbling or shoving. But as Alex nods at one of the fans, she realises it's probably due to the core fans recognising Emma’s sister’s.
Lena knows that Emma makes sure not to have lots of pictures of Kara and Alex on her Social Media due to their jobs. Only having a few uploaded from Christmas and the New Year Gala.
Even in the beginning of their friendship Emma and Lena had a picture taken together at a games night and Emma had asked Lena if she would mind Emma posting it. The raven haired beauty hadn’t and was touched about Emma’s concern. Emma explained how she tries to keep most of her life private but knows she needs to share some aspects. Lena would always smile when her phone would bleep that Emma had uploaded to Instagram, showing an outfit or food she was eating with the band. One video made Lena laugh where the band did an all you can eat challenge and Emma was the only one able to finish.
Lena smiles at how Emma had come into her life and chipped away at her Luthor exterior. Allowing Lena to pull down her walls around her friends and still be a badass CEO. To feel loved and appreciated, the things she hadn’t felt growing up.
As the band continues to play Lena knows the moment when Emma spots them because the smile that comes across her face is breathtaking.
“Told you!” Kara yells in her ear and Lena nods and smiles up at her love.
-- -- --
“Thank you Miami!” Emma cheers into the microphone and the band bows for the final time to the audience. The stage lights go off and Emma exits the stage quickly.
“Hey Em!” Jack, the guitarist, follows after her. “Where you off to in a hurry?”
Emma turns to look at him while she keeps walking to her dressing room. “I saw my sister’s and Lena in the crowd. I need to go to my hotel room to grab my stuff.”
“Really?” Jack smiles and then pulls out Emma’s backpack from behind his back.
“Jack!” Emma tries to scold him but she can’t help but smile. She quickly looks inside to check it has everything she needs. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Don’t worry about your other stuff, we’ll pack it onto the bus!” He pulls her into a quick hug. “Well say hi to your sisters and lover for me?”
“Jack!” Emma laughs as she enters her dressing room to grab her phone, journal and shove the clothes she came in into her bag.
“What? Just stating the obvious.” Jack wiggles his eyebrows.
“What’s obvious?” The other band member’s Danny, Mick and Frankie were standing in the doorway.
“That Em-ma has had a dreamy look on her face for months now.”
“Have not!” Emma scoffs while putting on her red leather jacket.
“You have.” Mick deadpans.
“Most definitely.” Frankie agrees.
“It’s sickening really.” Danny adds.
“Get out of here!” Emma laughs again, especially when her bandmates surround her in a group hug.
“Hope you have fun in NC!” Frankie hollars as he leaves the room, Mick following him.
“Yea bring us something!” Danny laughs as he waves goodbye to her.
“Take care of yourself Em.” Jack pulls her into another hug before following his bandmates who were looking for their partners.
“You too.” Emma calls after them.
Suddenly a chill runs through the blonde and Emma shakes away the weird sense of foreboding.
She quickly leaves the dressing room and heads to the stage door. Fans immediately screams as she appears and she takes out her sharpie to sign autographs. Half an hour later she is nearing the end of the mass of fans by the barrier.
“Emma that was incredible!” A fan yells excitedly and takes a selfie with her.
“Thank you! It was great having such an amazing crowd!” Emma smiles brightly at them.
“When will you be coming back to Florida?” Another fan asks as they hold out a piece of paper for her to sign.
“No idea yet, but I hope it’ll be soon.” Emma focuses on the piece of paper she’s writing on. A ticket is handed to her.
“Hopefully not too soon.” A velvet voice makes Emma stop and she looks up with a huge grin on her face. “Hi.” Lena smirks at her.
“Hi.” Emma breathes back. The world fading around her as she looks into the green eyes she loves.
“Aren’t you Emma’s girlfriend?!” A fan squeals and goes to take a picture of the couple.
“Yea she is.” Emma smiles politely and wraps an arm protectively around Lena. Pulling the barrier so Lena can get through.
“Ready to get out of here?” She asks Lena softly. Lena nods and leads Emma to where Kara is waiting to take them home. As they approach Emma notices Kara is dressed as Supergirl. “Where’s Alex?” Emma asks looking around.
“I already flew her back. She’s waiting for you at mine.” The grin on Kara’s face is blinding.
“Sister sleepover?” Emma bounces excitedly.
“Sister sleepover!” Kara confirms and Emma launches at Kara, hugging her tight. “So who should I take back first.”
For a split second Emma looks worried at the thought of leaving Lena here. “Can you carry both of us? I don’t mind holding onto your back.”
“I can… If you are comfortable with that?” Kara asks unsure.
“Yea I am.” Emma nods.
“Well I’m not.” Lena scoffs.
“Lee, please don’t worry.” Emma reaches out and holds Lena’s hand. “This is the way Alex, Kara and I fly all the time.”
Lena looks at Kara who nods. “Okay.” She sets her jaw and waits for Kara to lift her up bridal style. She watches Emma wrap her arms around Kara’s neck and tries to not smile when Emma grins at her. As Lena’s heart is racing with worry.
“Next stop Lena’s!” Kara carefully takes off and soon the wind is whistling past the trio. Lena buries her head in Kara’s shoulder and almost jumps when she feels Emma stroke her head. Soon Kara lands on Lena’s balcony and carefully places her best friend down.
“Kar, can you give us a moment?” Emma asks her sister.
“Sure.” Kara floats up to the roof, Emma turns back to her girlfriend and takes her backpack off.
“Hi.” Emma smiles at Lena softly.
“Hi.” Lena returns the smile and immediately pulls Emma into a searing kiss. A few minutes later Lena regretfully breaks it, causing Emma to whine. “If we carry on I won’t be able to allow you to leave.”
“Yea. I’ll see you tomorrow?” Emma steps back and picks up her backpack.
“You better!”
“I promise.” The couple gaze longingly at each other till Emma lifts her head to the roof. “Kar?”
Kara reappears and floats down next to Emma. “Ready?” Emma nods and Kara carefully lifts Emma into her arms.
Emma looks over to Lena and gives her a sad smile. “Love you.”
“Love you too.” Lena says softly back, watching as Kara takes off into the night sky.
-- -- --
“There you are!” Alex yells as soon as they fly into Kara’s apartment.
“Sorry! Emma was taking a while saying bye to Lena.” Kara says before superspeeding to her room to change.
“A while huh?” Alex cocks an eyebrow at her youngest sister.
“Shut up.” Emma playfully shoves at Alex’s shoulder.
“Oh, you did not just do that.” Alex brushes her shoulder off and tilts her head at Emma. Who stares the redhead down while taking her back pack off.
“Bring it Danvers.” Emma says cockily and Alex leaps towards her.
Kara walks back into the room and shakes her head at her play fighting sisters. “Alex have you ordered?!” She yells over the sister’s giggles and taunts.
“Not... Yet.” Alex grunts while Emma has her pinned.
“Pizza and potstickers?” Kara asks while already getting the order ready.
“Sounds- HEY!”
Kara looks up and laughs as Alex has switched positions with Emma.
“What was that peanut?” Alex asks as she smirks down at the blonde.
Emma glares back and tries to break free from the redhead, but Alex has her pinned down. “I was saying! Sounds good Kara.”
“Alex? You want the hawaiian?” Kara asks, even though she’s already sent the order. Her plan worked as her question distracted Alex long enough that Emma could switch their positions again.
“Hey! That’s cheating!” Alex sounds outraged but soon starts laughing at how proud Emma looks. “Well done peanut. Now! Hug!” Alex orders and Emma falls on top of her. They wrap their arms around each other and Emma sighs happily.
“Omph!” Both sister’s dispel air as Kara leaps on top of them.
“Sorry! Did I hurt you?” Kara asks, panicking and floats above her sisters.
“No.” Alex says gently and holds out her arms.
Kara softly floats back down and buries her face into Emma’s neck. Who hums and closes her eyes, content at having her sister’s hold her.
“Hey, don’t fall asleep yet.” Alex softly says to Emma.
“I’m not.” Emma says sleepily.
“Uh huh. Em your breathing is getting deeper and your heart is slowing down.” Kara laughs at the blonde beneath her.
“Comfy.” Emma buries her head further into Alex’s neck. “I love you both. So, so much.”
“Aww.” Kara kisses Emma’s cheek and Alex kisses Emma’s head. She moves her right arm from behind Kara and wraps it around Emma.
“We love you too Peanut. And we are so, so proud of you.”
The sister’s lie there for a little while longer and just as Alex is thinking about moving, a knock interrupts the peace in the apartment.
“Pizza!” Kara yells as she leaps into the air and flies to the door.
“Rao I pray she never changes.” Emma says groggily into Alex’s ear. She pulls her hands out from under Alex and rolls off her sister.
“Me too.” Alex smiles at her sister who rubs her eyes and smudges her makeup.
“Ouch!” Emma holds her eyes feeling the mascara grit she’d rubbed into it. She stands quickly and rushes to Kara’s bathroom.
“Em?” Emma hears Kara ask, her voice muffled due to her mouth being full of potstickers.
“I’m okay!” Emma calls back as she tries to open her eyes but hey sting too much. “Shit!”
“Em?” Alex asks, concerned behind her.
“Stuff in my eye.” Emma grits her teeth and fans her face, feeling the tears build up. “Forgot I’m wearing stage makeup.”
“Sit on the edge of the tub.” Alex directs Emma and starts running the tap. “Kara?”
“Yea?” Kara’s muffled voice says by the door.
“Can you stop stuffing your face and help me?” Alex says tensely.
Kara swallows “Sorry.” She superspeeds her plate to the coffee table and superspeeds back.
“Where’s your makeup wipes?” Alex asks while filling an empty bottle with the warm water.
“In my room.” Kara points to the side where she can see her makeup wipes through the wall.
“Actually, can you hold Emma back while I pour the water into her eyes?” Alex asks as she looks at her younger sister, who is allowing her tears to fall to get the grit out.
“Kay.” Kara sits next to the blonde. “Lean back Em. I promise I won’t let you fall.”
Emma nods and immediately reclines back into Kara’s arms. The sister’s smile at how much Emma trusts Kara, she didn’t even flinch.
Alex leans over Emma and carefully opens one of her reddening eyes. “Ouch Em.” She slowly pours some water in and watches as the grit comes out. “Okay, that's one eyes.” She does the same to the other and when Emma sits back up Kara superspeeds to her room to get the makeup remover. She hands them to Emma and she starts wiping off the ton of makeup on her face.
“Thanks Al, thanks Kar.”
“You’re welcome.” Alex kisses Emma’s head before heading into the main room of the apartment. Emma follows behind, still wiping her makeup off and yawns. “Don’t think we’ll be watching a film tonight.” Alex teases as she looks back at the blonde.
“Sorry, it's been a busy week.” Emma smiles at her sisters and sits on the sofa with her back to the arm so she can see them better. “So, your verdict on tonight?”
“It. Was. Awesome!” Kara squeals, causing Emma to smile brightly. “I mean when you sang Shallow at the end?! Was perfect!”
“It was.” Alex agrees and smiles proudly at her baby sister. “How come you decided to do that with the band and not have that as your first solo single?”
“I did think about it, but when I originally wrote it Jack’s voice was in my head. And it just felt wrong having just my voice you know?” Emma bit into her pizza, thankful that Kara had reheated them. Emma sighs heavily when she thinks about the work she needs to do for her solo career.
“What's up peanut?” Alex tilts her head and searches Emma’s face.
“I’m just worried about what's going to happen after the tour. I mean I…” Emma pauses causing her sister’s to frown. “Promise you won’t tell anyone what I am about to show you? Or get mad?” Both sister’s nod and Emma gets up. She grabs her backpack, sits back down and gets her MacBook Pro out. Emma looks back up at her sisters and bites her lips. “I… Er… Kind of have an album already recorded.”
“You-” Alex starts but gets interrupted by Kara’s yell.
“What?!”
Emma takes a few more bites of her pizza and nods.
“When did you have time to do that?” Alex asks with a frown.
“Days off.” Emma shrugs. “I’d write the songs on the tour bus and then the team would find a studio we could hire. Kind of funny really cause it's basically a band album as the guys are playing, but… It’s a whole new sound.” Emma looks down at her Mac and her finger hoovers over the play button. “Do you wanna listen? It’s 25 songs at the moment...”
Both sister’s nod quickly and Emma takes a deep breath before pressing play. The sister’s quietly listen as they eat and after each song Emma pauses the music and they talk it through. Almost two hours later they’ve just finished the last song on the long list.
“Em… That one was so beautiful.” Kara wipes a tear from her eye.
“It’s about Lena isn’t it?” Alex smiles knowingly.
“Yea.” Emma says softly.
“What’s it called?” Kara asks while tucking back into her tub of ice cream.
“Always Remember Us This Way.” Emma watches her sister’s nod. “I wrote part of it after our trip to the beach.”
“And the rest?”
“While I was with Lena. Well, after saying goodbye to her at the airport.”
“When you look at me,
And the whole world fades
I’ll always remember us this way.”
Alex says as she remembers the lyrics. “You really love her don’t you?”
Emma nods and her eyes fill with tears. “Woo, sorry.” She tries to wipe them away but Alex reaches out and stops her, holding her hand.
“Peanut it’s fine. You know you can always cry in front of us.”
“Yea we don’t think any less of you.” Kara stretches out and holds Emma’s other hand.
“Thanks, these are happy tears.” Emma laughs and her sisters squeeze her hands. “I just, I miss her so much and she’s been so amazing while I’ve been on tour.” Emma looks into her sister’s understanding eyes. “I really love her. I’d marry her if she asked, but, I know we are taking things slow due to all the changes that are gonna happen soon.”
“The record company is still pushing for a tour this year?” Alex asks with hard eyes.
“Yea.” Emma rolls her eyes. “I mean, I love doing the gigs and all, but they want to book stadiums and we need to see how the album does, it could be a huge flop.” Kara goes to interrupt but Emma holds up her hand. “Meaning, I know I’m stepping out of the country style and some of my core fans might not appreciate that-”
“Yes but come on Em!” Kara interrupts. “Look at how well the Christmas album did! And you weren't really trying with that!”
“Kara’s right peanut.” Alex feels her heart break at how unsure Emma looks. She squeezes Emma’s hand and the blonde squeezes back. “I’m guessing you can’t put all 25 songs on the album?” Alex teases to lighten her sister’s mood. When a loud laugh escapes Emma’s lips the sisters smile.
“I wish!” Emma's smile fades slightly. “A lot of them won’t see the light of day. If I get asked to do a second album I may try and bring some of them back for that.”
“What about sending them out to other artists?” Kara asks helpfully. Remembering how Emma had written some award winning songs for major artists.
“Yea, there’s always that route.” Emma's smile grows again before a yawn takes over. “I’m sorry but I need to start getting ready for bed.” Emma pouts, annoyed she ruined the sister sleepover.
“Peanut it is 2am! It’s 5am on the east coast.”
“Hmmm, makes sense.” Emma closes her MacBook Pro and slowly stands. “Kar? Can I borrow some PJ’s? Jack didn’t think to pack any.”
“Sure!” Kara superspeeds into her room and comes back with a pair of Emma’s pajamas. “I hope you don’t mind, I went to your apartment earlier to get them.” Emma wanted to laugh at the worried look on Kara’s face.
“No I don’t mind.” Emma takes her night wear from Kara’s hands and kisses the blonde’s cheek. She goes to the bathroom to change and get ready for bed. Yawning she exits the bathroom and rubs her eyes. Pleased they don’t sting anymore from her mishap earlier. “Where am I sleeping?”
“Well… My bed is big enough…” Kara bounces on her feet.
“Sounds good to me.” Emma smiles sleepily and shuffles towards Kara’s bed. She flops down on it and immediately falls asleep. Not hearing her sister’s getting ready around her.
“Oh Alex!” Kara whispers urgently as she enters her bedroom.
“What?” Alex says back urgently looking for a threat.
“Sush!” Kara motions for her to stay quiet and points to their baby sister.
“Aww.” Alex whispers. Emma leg’s were dangling off the side of the bed having not made it far enough on before falling asleep. “She used to do that as a baby.” Alex and Kara smile as they approach the blonde. “I’d find her asleep in such weird positions.”
Alex watches as Kara gently reaches down and lifts Emma onto the middle of the bed. The sister’s climb into bed and Emma instinctively rolls onto her side towards Kara. Feeling the Kryptions heat and getting close to it by resting her head on Kara’s shoulder. Kara carefully removes her glasses and reaches out to turn her bedside light off. She wraps an arm around Emma and closes her eyes.
Alex smiles at her sisters and spoons Emma. In the darkness she listens to her sister’s breathing. She worries about both of them. But more so for her baby sister. How the record company is making her work overtime, but she hopes Emma will be okay. Eventually the redhead’s eyes grow heavy and she falls asleep.
-- -- --
Emma jumps as a flash of light wakes her up. Soon followed by a loud crash of thunder. Immediately she feels Kara shake in her sleep and she whimpers. Emma tries to carefully remove Alex’s grip on her but the redhead soon wakes up.
“Em?” Alex asks sleepily.
“There’s a storm.” Emma whispers while leaning over a still whimpering Kara to turn the light on and grab Kara’s glasses. She places them on Kara’s face and turns the dampers on. “I hate how they still affect her.”
“Me too.” Alex has sat up now and watches Kara.
“Can we move her to the middle?” Emma asks looking over her shoulder.
“Maybe.” Alex gets up and moves to Kara’s other side. “Okay, pull her towards you.” Emma carefully pulls the Kryption towards her and Alex pushes. They successfully manage to get Kara to the middle of the bed and they both cuddle their sister. Who still seems to be in the middle of a nightmare that comes when she hears thunder.
“It’s okay Kara.” Alex whispers into her ear. “You're safe, we’re both here for you.”
But tears still stream down Kara’s face and it breaks Emma’s heart.
Somewhere over the rainbow way up high There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Alex immediately grabs Kara’s phone as Emma starts singing and presses record.
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Alex smiles as Kara starts to relax due to Emma’s voice. Even as the thunder crashes a multiple times Kara doesn’t flinch like she would normally. Instead her head is turned towards Emma.
Near the end of the song Kara’s blue eyes open and she sniffs as she listens to her baby sister.
If happy little bluebirds fly Beyond the rainbow Why, oh, why can't I?

Traumatizing Baby Danvers!
You had a terrible day at work. Like literally a shitty day and all you want to do was vent your frustrations with your sisters eat pizza and just veg out watching tv. You tried calling Alex, but it went straight to voicemail and then you got a reply from her a few minutes later she texted that she was in a meeting, but if urgent you could call the emergency line.
It wasn’t an emergency, you were fine just stressed out and emotional, but fine, nonetheless. So, you just texted back that everything was okay and if she wanted pizza night at yours and Kara’s tonight.
She replied that she was game and would see you later followed by several emojis at the end of the text.
Y/n: “Alex you dork! “- you laughed at your sister’s text
It was 2 pm which was early, you usually work until later. You do have a very flexible schedule and work hours, but you always stick around the office longer and make sure you’re always on top of everything.
Today you couldn’t care less, everything that could’ve gone wrong, went wrong even though it wasn’t your fault. Today was not your day. You are a very calm and positive person, always trying to look at the bright side of things and you do everything whiting your power to help. But everyone has a breaking point and you reached out yours, something that rarely happened to you and your boss knew this. You were basically her right hand and because she was a good friend of yours and knew you must’ve been very stressed and overwhelmed, she took pity on you and told you go home to clear your head and come back the next day and you guys would figure things out. Your boss was awesome, and you appreciate having such a great work relationship with her aside from the friendship you two shared.
You called Kara earlier in the morning and asked her if she wanted to have lunch with you, but she told you she had a meeting and would be a very busy day at Catco. She offered to get lunch delivered to you, but you just told her you would get something from the café near your office with the guys from work.
You knew your sisters were very busy people with very important jobs reason why you didn’t n want to disrupt any of their activities. You could sulk for a while on your own at home in your jammies eating ice cream before you got to see your sisters later in the day. You got your favorite ice cream waiting for you at home double fudge chocolate and almonds.
You got home and throw your keys in the table and removed your coat. You were stepping out of your shoes when you hear moaning and then your sister ‘s voice.
Kara: “Ohhh yes yes right there baby. Just like that”.
Lena- panting heavily-: “Oh God!!!”
You stood frozen in place, Lena Luthor had your big sister bend over the couch, and they were both naked. You could see Lena was all flush and sweaty and even though you couldn’t see your sister face only her naked ass and legs while being roughly fucked by the CEO in what seems to be a strap-on, you knew she was pretty much the same.
Y/n: You dropped your bag and cellphone while covering your eyes with both hands – “OH GOD MY EYES! MY EYES!!!! What the hell Kara????!!!!”
You tried to run and leave but in your shock you forgot you were still trying to remove your shoes and when you turned you tripped over your own feet and fell forward hitting your forehead hard against the counter. You felt dizzy but managed to take cover behind the counter and kept your eyes shut.
Lena: “Oh my God!, I’m so sorry y/n are you okay? Sweetheart?”
Kara speed into some clothes for her and Lena and went to check on you, but you recoil at the touch.
Kara: “baby? Come little one let me see, please!”
y/N: “Do not call my baby and you Lena don’t say God” -you turned green and gagged.  “I’m sorry okay, I didn’t know you were going to be here. And you know what I’m just going to leave, yes I need to leave”
you were still covering your eyes and forehead with your hands, legs pulled into your chest with your back into the counter.
Kara: “What? No sweetie, come on, let me see you head.”
Lena and Kara helped you stand up and pried your hands from your eyes. You had tears in your eyes, and you felt very embarrassed for walking into your sister and Lena doing the nasty in the couch. Lena was getting a clean clot to clean the blood in your forehead. When you looked into her eyes you saw how remorseful she looked, and you averted your eyes too look anywhere but at them. Then you saw what was in the counter, empty food containers and your ice cream tub you were so looking for get to.
All of the a sudden, you weren’t just embarrassed and in pain, you felt anger run through your veins like hot lava all bubbling into the surface after all the stress and bad things that had happened today. You were mad, finally it hit you that Kara blew you off so she could fuck with her girlfriend.
Y/n: “Don’t! Get away from me” -you pushed her away.
You saw Lena standing next to Kara with equal sad expressions and shocked at your anger.
Lena: “sweet girl you are bleeding let us look at your head please. We are so sorry, we never meant for you too see that. We just… well got a little carried away”.
Y/n: “I don’t fucking care about my head. Just leave me alone and just go and keep fucking each other brains out I’m leaving I can’t be here I’ll be at Alex’s, DO NOT FOLLOW ME!!! “
Kara stopped you by grabbing your arms and look into your eyes, you could see she had tears in her blue baby eyes, and she looked so remorseful. But you did not care, you were so angry and sad that your sister would lie to you for something like this, you couldn’t care less if she wanted to spend alone time with Lena or eat lunch with her instead of you, you weren’t like that and most of all you were happy they were dating , you love Lena like a sister. If they wanted time alone, you would´ve being more than happy to stay out of their way and do something else so they could do whatever they wanted. You felt like you were just an inconvenient and burden to your sister that she rather lied to you to avoid ´hurting´ your feelings.
Kara: “I can’t let you go out like this; you are hurt and angry and I can tell something is bothering you, aside from the obvious. Please let me in, baby. I’m so sorry for what you saw, but please tell me what else is wrong so I can fix it. Please y/n”
Lena was looking at the both of you but clearly out of her depth, it would have been funny to watch under any other situation, but right now you just wanted to be away from the women. You felt embarrassed towards Lena and so mad at your sister.
y/n: “I don’t want to talk, specially not to you. I just want to be alone. And it’s not like I can outrun you or fight you, am I? So please let go of me and let me leave. I can’t be near you right now Kara. I’m feeling so mad right now, and I don’t want to say something I will regret later. I’m holding on by a tread here Kara so, please give me this and let me be alone”
Kara: “baby no, I can’t do that. I don’t want you alone in the streets feeling like this.”
y/n: “No, you don’t get to play all worry sister now. Don’t be a hypocrite”- you said with a tone so venomous that it actually stopped Kara and Lena in their tracks.
Lena: “Ok, we need all to calm down, y/n let me have my driver take you to Alex’s ok? And then in a little while after you all are a bit calmer, you can talk things out. Okay?
You nodded in approval and just walk out of the apartment not saying anything else, not bothering to pick up your cellphone or bag. You knew Lena’s driver would be downstairs in no time.
Kara stayed behind rooting on her spot looking very much like a sad puppy and worried about her baby sister, she went to grab her phone and call Alex right away to let her know what happened and that y/n has heading to her apartment.
You arrived at Alex’ s and didn’t bother in changing or cleaning your forehead or even eating something, you were nauseous you just wanted to sleep and forget about everything and everyone for a while.  You felt bone tired now that the heat of the moment was over, you felt like you overreacted badly but, seriously  you were more mad at yourself for being such a burden and to put so much pressure on your sisters that they felt the need to lie to you instead of telling you things.  You dropped to the bed face down and cried yourself to sleep. You felt so emotional exhausted.
You felt fingers running through your head and face. Tender touches and soft words spoken by your big sister. Alex, you would know her touch and scent anywhere.  You barely open your eyes and looked at her a bit bleary and dazed. Blood -shot eyes. She was laying next to you one arm supporting her head giving you a warm and soft smile. But she looked sad.
Alex: “oh sweet girl, why are you so sad? What can I do?”
You just couldn’t handle so much tenderness from her you just burst into tears and cling to her like a lifeline.  You cried all the sorrow you felt in your heart, your frustrations and bad day. All that was bottle up inside you came bursting in the most awful way, body wracking sobs. Alex held you close to her and let you cry until you were limp pretty much on top of her.  She never let go, just held you and rocked you while humming a tune she used whenever you felt sick or sad.
You felt the bed dip, however it wasn’t Alex, she was holding you it couldn’t be her. Then you felt something cold being pressed to your forehead. Then a soft clot cleaning your face and tears tracks. Kara, you recognize her, and you felt so ashamed after your outburst earlier you tried to move away from her and more into Alex.
You dint see her face, pained by your action. Thinking you were still angry at her. She moved with the intention to leave you and Alex alone. But you just held her hand.  You didn’t speak but you didn’t let go either.
Both your sister waiting patiently giving you all the time you need. Then after what felt like hours, you were so spent that you can tell what time it is anyway.
y/n: “I’m sorry” …you said almost a whisper. But your sisters head you just right.
Alex: “why would you say that?”
Kara: “there’s nothing you should be sorry about, if anything I’m the one that should apologize little one”
y/n: “No Kara, you don’t own me an apology. I overreacted and I was out of line for saying what I said and for being rude and mean to Lena. I’m very sorry.” You sigh sadly and breaths deeply “it’s your apartment and if you want to spend time alone with your girlfriend, you can totally can. It was rude of me just bargaining in and not even tell you I was heading home early. I just thought you were busy and wouldn’t be home until later in the night. I had a very bad stressing day and basically everything went wrong today, and I just wanted to sulk and eat junk food and forget about today. Then I got home and saw you and Lena… “- You trailed off feeling embarrassed for walking on them. “I just should have gone to the café or somewhere else instead”
Kara stops your rambling right there- “Hey hey hey no, look at me please. I’m serious y/n.” You look at your sister with sad eyes “Is not just my apartment, its ours okay? You are not a guest and you don’t ever ever need to feel like you don’t belong there nor that you can’t walk freely anytime you want.  I was wrong by being so careless. I admit I got carried away and well things escalated. I wasn’t supposed to be home and I didn’t blow you off to be with Lena instead. I had a meeting and we were supposed to be working on a new project, but the meeting was cancelled, and the project leaders postponed the review. Lena was visiting and we decided to grab lunch and go to the apartment, I thought you were having lunch with your co-workers it never cross my mind you were going to be home nor you were having a really shitty day. You know you come first I would totally be there if I had known. I’m so sorry little one”
Alex was just listening to all that was being said by you and Kara and understood what happened.
Alex: “I think it was all a big misunderstanding and you were in a very emotional sate and took things harder. But don’t feel like you can’t talk to us about anything sweetie.”
You nodded and felt more tear leaking from your eyes. “It’s just stupid ok? I know you guys are very busy and have important jobs. I was just being ridiculous and childish”
Alex: “No, you don’t get to call my favorite person that, you are very important to us and you know you can always tell us anything and if you were having a bad day and needed one or the two of us, we would have figured something out, because you know that’s how we do thing right? If I needed you or Kara, you would have dropped everything or make sure to check on me. So no, you don’t get to hide or say things like that. You are my baby sister and one of the most important people in my life.”
Kara: “ditto!”
They hold you close, and you let their warm embrace get you to feel better and ease those trouble thoughts you had. You know they only want the best for you and one bad day will never change that.
Y/n: “well, Kara did ate my double fudge chocolate almond ice cream and didn’t left any for me” -You pouted dramatically
Alex: “How dare you Kara? You throw a fit whenever we try to get the last pot sticker or if we touch your ice cream you are always threating us into throwing us into the sun. so, how could you?”– Alex speaks indignantly.
Kara looking sheepishly and ashamed – “I´m so sorry baby, I was going to buy a new one to replaced it before you even arrived home”
You stomach decided to make its presence known by making loud noises.
Alex- “well, we need to feed that beast little one. Come on, Kara is buying tonight”
Kara: “YES! I brought pizza, ice cream, pies and brownies. I´ll reheat the pizza right now” -Kara sped into the kitchen to get things ready.
Alex you help you to your feet and hugged you. You know there were things you needed to talk with your sisters but for new you really wanted to food and feel the comforting arms of your sisters. Alex cleaned quickly your forehead; you had a bit of dried blood but nothing serious.
A little while after the pizza had been eaten and you were lazing in Alex´s couch watching something on Netflix, you weren’t paying too much attention to it. You decided to get back at Kara. You were resting with your head on Alex’s lap and feet on Kara’s. Alex had a glass of wine; Kara was drinking hot chocolate.
y/n: “Alex?”- you asked almost timidly
Alex: “hmm…yes baby?”
y/n: “Did you knew Kara was a bottom?”
Kara was taking a sip of her beverage when she started to cough violently, Alex was not much better choking on her wine.
You just smiled devilish toward Kara, who in return just glared and was looking like a giant tomato by how red she was looking.
Kara: “ha ha , okay yeah. be like that”
Alex was laughing hard, Kara was seriously looking so red.
Alex: “Well its not surprise really, Lena does have very intimidating presence and well, being a top should not be very shocking”.
Kara kept getting redder and redder by the second. But eventually you three calm down and were silent for a moment. Kara thinking the embarrassment was over went to take another sip and you just had to do it.
y/n: “We should really congratulate Kara tough, buy her a cake or something.  Lena does have an amazing body and let me tell you she really knows how to be a top. Like honestly Alex, she made the girl of steel bend to her demands. Like quite literally bend her over and that strap? Kinky much sis? hahahahaha”
Kara: “Stoooooop, oh Rao please stop”.
y/n: “Well, that’s not what you were asking Lena. If I recall correctly you were actually screaming the opposite. And I’m sorry I interrupted, I probably left Lena with a severe case of blue balls.”
Kara was so red you felt like she was about to faint, and Alex was laughing so hard she was in seriously about to lose it and pee on herself.  You just kept smiling and your sister embarrassment.
Kara was about to throw a pillow into your face when Alex held out her hand and stopped her.
Alex: “Stop, both of you. You can´t throw things at her; she has a cut on her forehead. And you stop teasing Kara”- but unable to stop laughing at how red Kara was with embarrassment
y/n: “Do you call Lena daddy?”- you jumped from Alex’s lap and ran towards the bedroom when you saw Kara turn violent red and you kind of felt she was about to use her heat vision.
You knew you were going to pay for what you just did eventually, but it was totally worth it, and you needed the laugh, even if it was at your sister’s expense.

Note: this is a stand alone piece in the same universe as “Make Wise Choices” a fun idea I had and that eventually explains something I'm planning in the main story.
