- I'm not very good at explaining please forgive me, but I try to really express the undead features. The Demon King looks very much like a corpse, so I emphasize a skull like shape in the face! But I also like to add a silliness to my fanart to break away from the dark themes of the game, so I also exaggerate the bulging/bug eyes like a lizard. ALSO I really simplify the design to fit my toony style. I haven't been drawing all of his jagged uneven horns in his mane(?) because I feel like it would take away from the face in my simple style. (smol edit note: the nose looks like a fusion of a skull nasal cavity and the nose of a boar which I feel is intentional bc.. obvious reasons. He also has a very reptilian looking underbite)

So think... skull lizard thing? Also here are some refs that helped me a lot with my sketches

i have a weirdly specific question so y'know there are aesthetic terms/genres yeah? and a lot of 2000's internet aesthetics were given names- Scenecore, Frutiger Aero, Old Web, Emo, Goth Punk, Vectorheart, etc...

but there's this very specific 2000's aesthetic i've seen a lot that's like scenecore's sibling- brightly colored toony vibes paired with the unfiltered dark side of early 2000's social internet not tryhard edgy, just unfiltered think Happy Tree Friends, Lapfox Records covers, candy gore, Newgrounds, all those "MLP but drugs and violence" videos/comics, etc anyone know if there's a term for that aesthetic/vibe, or what do you personally call it?⭐

Yandere gear 5 luffy getting jealous when fem reader shows affection and kindness to other men instead of him

The implication Luffy never really leaves gear 5 or that fear 5 is a separate personality is funny to me for some reason.

Well, there's certainly a lot of fuss made about it. Noisy fuss at that. It's hard to take him seriously when he puffs up over the reader complimenting a guy. You'll likely laugh it off and he doesn't mind so much at first but eventually he's going to snap.

Luffy will eventually drag you off to a private area where no one will interrupt. Insisting that you keep looking only at him while he absolutely wrecks you.

I'm torn about whether or not he wants to let you scream his name so everyone knows who you belong to or stuff your panties into your mouth because no one gets to hear your pretty voice but him. I'm not a super big fan of voyeurism though, so there's that.

You're going to have your body manipulated into impossible knots so he can work out his frustration and make it clear who you belong to. You may not be bruised by his rough treatment thanks to his devil fruit going out of control but you're certainly not walking on your own afterwards.

And you won't be allowed to look away from him regardless of what position he's in. It's toony but I think seeing him stretch his body out like a snake in a dark room will look a little horrific, sorry.

He also will not shut up the entire time. He's an assault on your senses. You can only see him. You can definitely feel him. And you'll only be able to hear him.

If he can make it to a private bedroom (I imagine he gets one when he starts sleeping with you cause the guys would like to sleep uninterrupted thanks) neither of you are leaving for a long time.

And you won't be able to leave the bed for longer. Partly because when he comes back whatever, he just does it all over again, though a little less intense each time.

It's certainly a bit tense when you compliment anyone else again, always quick to follow it up by going to Luffy to kiss his cheek or squeeze his hand.

And if you don't?

Well, Luffy knows exactly what you want him to do and gladly does so. This time with less confused questions as he drags you off. You only have yourself to blame after the first (weeeeellll, not the first first time lol, it definitely wasn't a single round) time.

if the managers got magically turned into toons, how do you think theyd react, what kind of toons would they be, and how would they navigate their new bodies (and possibly new lives)?

I'm not Felix, but I hope I can answer this about as well as she can.

DUCK SHUFFLER:

-He becomes a red duck with green legs after a slot machine accident.

-He doesn't find it particularly surprising or alarming and simply rolls with it.

-It wouldn't surprise me if he'd quit his job to officially join the ranks of the Toons.

PRETHINKER:

-Brian either becomes a raccoon, or he becomes some kind of bug Toon not available in-game. He'd be a pale pink.

-He's in complete disbelief about this change and refuses to leave his room for several months. He loses track of time and eventually becomes so bored and lonely that he ventures out.

DERRICK MAN:

-He becomes a bronze colored bear.

-Raine is accused of using magic of some kind, but she seems genuinely confused about what happened. Unable to locate the cause, he's forced to mingle with the Toons as a Toon.

DEEP DIVER:

-If only in-game species are available, she'd likely become a non-domesticated species. If it can be anything, she'd become a fish. She'd be a deep blue color.

-He wouldn't have much commentary about his situation. Additionally, he'd almost exclusively keep to himself.

RAINMAKER:

-The species situation would be the same as Mary, except I could see her either becoming a dog or a fish. She would be light blue.

-She'd be happy to explore the Toon world from the inside and play several Toony games. Most likely, she would resign from her job.

LAND ACQUISITION ARCHITECT:

-He becomes an orange fox.

-At first he's shocked and in complete disbelief, but after a while he learns to cope and fit in with the other Toons.

GATEKEEPER:

-She becomes an alligator. Her color scheme would likely include greys and incredibly desaturated blues.

-She refuses to show herself for a very, very long time out of embarrassment for what has happened to her.

WITCH HUNTER:

-He becomes a dark purple bear.

-A very similar situation to Holly's reaction occurs.

PUBLIC RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE:

-He becomes a light pink cat.

-At first, he hates his new situation. But then, he finds a great sales pitch to use on Toons along with an idea to escape and becomes incredibly grateful he magically changed.

BELLRINGER:

-He becomes a yellow kangaroo.

-He's quite shocked at the turn of events, but he elegantly navigates the situation and keeps a level head. Eventually, he learns how to act like a Toon and blend in.

MULTISLACKER:

-He becomes a cat with a mix of greys and purples.

-Doesn't say or do much about it, but his dad is incredibly horrified and keeps trying to make him into a Cog again.

MOUTHPIECE:

-She becomes a blue dog with yellow ears and yellow legs.

-Although she quits her job and starts cooking with Toon ingredients, nothing really does change about her.

MAJOR PLAYER:

-He becomes an orange and yellow bat.

-He flaunts his new change proudly and uses it as a selling point for more tickets to his shows.

FIRESTARTER:

-He becomes a red kiwi.

-He tries to hide what happened to him out of fear of what COGS, Inc. will think, but eventually the truth comes out.

PLUTOCRAT:

-He becomes an ice blue alligator.

-He attempts to run his operation like nothing has changed, but his Satellite Investors aren't so keen on working with a Toon since it's a risky investment. He's forced to close his pizzeria.

TREEKILLER:

-He becomes a green bear.

-He tries to convince himself he's only having a nightmare, but after his denial is over he's left feeling depressed and empty.

CHAINSAW CONSULTANT:

-He becomes a dark red deer.

-He's still trying to figure out what to do.

FEATHERBEDDER:

-They become a kiwi, and their color scheme is desaturated purples.

-They still sleep a lot and don't really change much.

PACESETTER:

-He becomes a pink and black dog.

-He makes a huge public scene about his transformation and tries to go back to being a Cog, citing his reasoning as him being more beautiful as a Cog.

The Issue with "Foefic"

For as long as humans have created things, others have looked at the fruits of their labour and thought, "I can do that better." Drawing inspiration from something you see and think you could improve upon is not wrong, it is how innovation works when it comes to creating tools, art, cooking. However, some people mean it in a malicious way. A way that teeters on jealousy and, if I may, clout-thirsty.

Lore Rekindled is a "retelling" of the (unfortunately) Eisner award winning webcomic Lore Olympus. From what I saw on the post introducing it, it is "better drawn and better written." I, like many, have issue with Lore Olympus. The writing is lacking and absolutely not award-worthy, and it even misses the mark as a cheesy harlequin romance. Persephone's characterization has no consistency. The art, while striking and easily recognizable, leaves a lot to be desired, especially when it comes to backgrounds. I don't consider it noteworthy, but it is heavily pushed by Naver's Webtoon, and that is probably why it keeps winning awards. With how low my opinion of Lore Olympus was, I dived into Lore Rekindled hoping to find something with more substance.

I did not find that substance.

LR suffers in different ways than LO. It assumes that you have read or are at least familiar with the major characters of Lore Olympus, which is understandable. The characters are re-written and interact strangely. Many of the characters in LO are meant to come off as "old money," and this shows in their lifestyles, fashion, and way they speak. The characters in LR all appear to have the same voice. If I were to print out a transcript of this comic and read it out loud, they would all be indistinguishable. LR is "better drawn," but what I think they meant is it is less toony. The backgrounds are better most of the time, but the panelling is boring and lacks the dynamicism seen in the original work. The plot is, if I'm being honest, just AU fanfiction (derogatory).

When I also learned that this creator had an original comic, I was very interested to see what it brought to the table. As I understood it, LR was a side project. So you can imagine my surprise when I looked at both the old and the new Project Reaper and it is just objectively a worse comic. The the majority of the cast has same-face syndrome, and seem to live in a cool-tone hell with no furniture most of the time. The concept of how to dress and style characters seems to be locked into what a 15 year old thinks is badass, but that fits for the story. The plot and dialogue reads like something a middle-schooler would make as an RP scenario with friends. The colouring is lazy dodge and burn, which just emphasizes that the author does not care about cultivating a space or atmosphere or world for these characters to live in. They are just toys to mash together to make your angsty super cool comic that you're going to pitch to Dark Horse for REAL, GUYS. And the first comic for this series is written right to left. In the author's defense, they were a teen when they started the original comic.

So how does someone whose average panel looks like the example above come to the conclusion that they can make a better comic? It's simple: Project Reaper is original, but LR has base material you can go off of. Anyone can read a comic and think "I would do THIS for this panel, and I would do THAT for this character introduction." I did it reading both of these comics. But if I were handed only the script for either of these projects, it would not come as easily. Lore Rekindled only looks "better" because it has Rachel's work to build off of. This goes back to what I was saying at the beginning, that the "I could do that but GOOD" view isn't doing you any favours, especially when you aren't doing your own IP well.

I think writing a little hate piece once in a while is good. Draw a hate piece if you really need to (though I would just show it to friends, personally.) Consuming a little media you hate is also good. As a creator, it is important to see and understand why you hate something, what you would change, and what little glimmers of good are in an otherwise pile of garbage. It helps you grow, to realize your tastes, and what not to do in your own work. Critically acclaimed writer Alan Moore agrees! But to have a whole comic with a regular update schedule redrawing something you hate is... It's giving "look at my sonichu comic redraw!" It is loser behavior.

Plenty of people create media out of spite, and I encourage it. I do it too. But the work should be your own. You need to put this energy into your IP. If you keep being a "hater," you'll never guess what you attract. Other haters! And those haters will like you, for now. But one of these days, someone will go through your list of essays and think, "oh, but I don't see any fat people in YOUR work that aren't plus-size model attractive." All it takes is one comment or take that a similarly-minded reader doesn't like and there could be a master list about you!

I am, of course, not saying you can't make derivative works at all. The doujinshi market is full of fan creations, and every art site you go to will be full of fanart. But the difference between LR and these works (generic sexy flavour of the month artists aside,) is that they are made with love. With passion for the original work. I think back to Homestuck AUs because, while I may not have liked them, these creators were doing it out of love for the characters. I follow a few guys on twitter who have been drawing a picture of their anime wife every day for over 10 years. That's love! Then you have more transformative works like Hello from Halo Head, of which some of it's characters are off-brand animal crossing characters. I love that. I think it's neat that the creator loved that little cat twink enough to bring him into their comic in a new form.

I think the point of this post is that you can use spite as a motivator, but it should be for your own creations. We have a limited time on this planet, and even less time where our hands are still able to pick up a pen. Put this towards your passion for the medium, for the stories in your heart. It's rough out there for creators, and it can be hard to find an audience in the ever-churning seas of the internet. But, please, don't put all your effort into "foefiction." That is cringe. And, if you're going to anyways, it'd better actually be good.

Sorry this took a day or two to get to 😅 But yeah, you do bring up good points. I don't know if you saw, but I actually made a headcannon post on what the weasels' reactions would be to their human S/O dying. It's pretty sad and dark, so proceed with caution. But here, I'll focus on the silly and good points of such a relationship ^^

Of course, they are still baddies, and their main problems are literally in their names. So it's not like it's all gonna be sunshine and rainbows, no matter if you're a toon or human 😅 but!

Smartass: It's been a while since he's been in the dating game. Focusing on his 'career' after the divorce. But if he's willing to work for someone that was human (assuming he didn't know Doom's secret), then I'm willing to bet he's willing to give romancing a human a try. He tries to compose himself more seriously, as the boss of the crazy pack of weasels. He could definitely benefit from an S/O who welcomes his more toony side ^^

Greasy: Oh this guy would definitely be smug about a human being into him. He would be so happy with a human S/O. Though honestly, Greasy would be happy with anyone who liked him 😅 with anyone he's trying to date, I can see Greasy also trying to compose himself a little. Though he doesn't have as strong a grip on his tooniness like his boss, so it won't be long before his S/O gets a taste of Pepé Le Pew style shenanigans XD

Wheezy: I'd say if you want a chill toon S/O, this guy would be your best bet. Wheezy also wouldn't mind dating a human. Kinda wondering what a human is doing in Toontown looking for love, especially on the bad side of Toontown. But he'd be a nice guy to date. If you can handle all of the smoke.

Psycho: I headcannon Psycho is demi, so it really doesn't matter to him what his S/O is. Toon, human, unidentified creature, whatever. As long as he has the bond with them... The problem is getting that close to him in the first place. It will be a slow-burn no matter what. Even if you guys get off on the right foot, it'll take a minute for him to fall in love. But if you have his trust and love, he'll be the most loyal toon by your side ^^

Stupid: Oh, for sure! He doesn't have a problem dating a human at all! As long as they're nice, he would be so adoring and loving with a human S/O! ^^ he's pretty curious about the human side of town, so you should expect plenty of questions, too. Stu is definitely the sweetest option out of all the boys ^^

I need to write content for Slimy and Flasher, so here's a bonus for them, too ^^ I'm still trying to figure out their characters, though. So this may change in the future.

Slimy: I think he might be a bit more suspicious of a human liking him than Wheezy is. Especially if they wanted him specifically; humans don't exactly jump at the opportunity to kiss a mouth that's constantly coughing up slime. But if you can get through him, Slimy would be willing to give it a try. See what a night out with a human would be like.

Flasher: I kind of imagine Flasher a young punk kind of character. A thrill seeker. So I think he wouldn't really think about any consequences if a human approached Flasher. He'd be pretty eager to try this dating scene out. You'd definitely get a wild night if you go out with this toon.

Rebecca sugar's TV show, Steven Universe, turned 10 years old today. This show had such an impact on me as a kid, mostly because it inspired me to explore art and show creating. Among others like Coryxkenshin, I was inspired to create. Whether I wanted to be a voice actress or an artist, these people helped me through dark times, and now I'm here, working on my own show with the help of amazing friends.

Speaking of friends, I'd like to thank all of my tumblr friends for their support through my art and tumblr journey. I know I couldn't deliver what started my blog, but I felt like things happened for a reason, and I'm doing really well right now.
