Just because I'm her boyfriend doesn't mean you could just ignore me. Kau boleh je tegur awek aku tapi aku jugak kau palau. I don't bite honestly but you treat me like I didn't exist. I'm saying this because I'm concerned of you. Look, we may not talk each other or know how much you have been going through but you need to stop hanging with the thought that people always ignore you. That's guilt tripping, and I know you guilt trip me and its not nice. If that's how you want me to open up to you first before you open up first to me, fine. Let me help you. We all have limited social batteries and its fine, but never give up to open up to someone. Look, no one likes being a cuck, we both ain't overly jealous type but me and my gf are always cool to each other whichever boys and girls we interact, as long as we don't let our dick and pussy being used or stolen by anyone else, and to say my dick belongs to my girl and her pussy belongs to me. That's a straightforward thing to say. I don't believe in fitnah or fake posts or whatever but as long as we clarify and confirm.
Honestly, I had faith within you that you can still vibe with people you can trust the most, but it seems that you threw it all away. You keep bitching that you can't speak English and have a language barrier just because you're bad at speaking English. Look, I don't care how broken or fluent your English is. Speak simple English is still fine buddy as long as I can still understand you and yes, some words in English can cause some certain double meanings and words that will gaslight, whether it's intentional or not. You ended up being a typical clout chaser and that's why you yourself guilt trip people for not being so communicative with you. And oh don't give me those words like "you all are always speaking in English, speak Malay guys, I'm sick of speaking with you all in English" Like are those really nice things to say to people since most nerds in ACG community speak English? You literally have no idea in the business world that people speak English as their secondary language. You can't make up an excuse for this. All I heard is that you have a lot of problems getting along with Chinese ACG friends. And I'm sorry to say this you sounded more like you're the racist one here.
Ni dah ibarat org dah cakap depan kat kau and tegur kau sebab diaorg sayang kau, tapi kau buat masuk telinga kanan, keluar telinga kiri. Masa awek aku tegur and wave hi dekat kau and aku pun sekali, kau tak nak open up and tegur aku. Kau ingat aku ni jenis overprotective and overjealous kalau awek aku bergambar and approach any male or female friends? Takde, aku relax je. Awek aku pun faham aku sama. Aku jalan ngan awek aku pun kau palau. I have friends that aren't in my gf's circle and there are friends from my gf's circle that aren't in me. Memang lah aku dah lama tak datang event sebab aku nak prioritize diri aku, kau ingat aku dah lupa bendul tak ingat semua if not all? Stop playing dumb. Aku tengok timeline kau banyak post depressed, terlebih kejar clout lah kau ni. No wonder ada satu dua account kau deactivate sebab kau acting immature and think the world revolves around you. Aku nampak ada satu account je yg active dekat kau on muka buku and cepat kilo, cuma rajin tukar nama and username. Aku harap you find solace, hope and change within you. Please, stop with all of that clout chasing and stop saying "macam kau kenal sangat semua pasal aku". Think back and fix what's wrong with you.

The Otter
Tumblr media
Here’s a -- personal essay, I guess? I performed this 22 November 2019 for Sweatheart, a monthly-ish storytelling night held at Lit Books.
The night’s theme was “tomayto! tomahto!”, so I thought I’d talk about language. And also otters.
+++
THE OTTER
There is an animal in my head. It is an otter.
Did you know that we have otters, here? There are several species native to Malaysia. I didn’t know this until about three years ago! I’d known of the Malay word “memerang”, and that it meant “otter”, but never consciously made the connection --
“Memerang” means “otter”.
Anyway. There’s an otter in my head. I can see her so clearly: her brown-black coat, wet and sleek; her whiskered face, her webbed feet; she chirps and she sings and she wants to slip onto a fisherman’s boat, wants to steal some bait, wants then slip away again.
She peers through my eyes. She cannot squeeze through. She paws through the cage-door of my teeth. She cannot lift the latch on my mouth. She starts to run in a panic -- circles-circles -- a trapped animal. Rattling, shaking my skull. She screams.
The otter, trapped; the otter that cannot get out --
For me, this is what writing and speaking in Bahasa Melayu is like.
+
Hi. I’m Zedeck Siew. I’m a writer from Port Dickson. I write fiction; with my partner the visual artist Sharon Chin, I wrote a book called “Creatures of Near Kingdoms”.
“Creatures of Near Kingdoms” is a bestiary, a herbiary: a collection of seventy-five animals and plants I imagine living in Southeast Asia.
I write in English -- it is my first language -- so the book I wrote is in English. But I’d originally dreamed of it as a bilingual work. Early this year, I applied for -- and received! -- a small grant, to translate Creatures of Near Kingdoms into Bahasa Melayu.
I decided to translate the book myself. This was not the smartest decision, in retrospect? I am now four months past my original deadline. I am stuck.
I have had seventy-five otters in my head. Some of them still cannot get out.
+
It is not like I don’t know Bahasa Melayu. I went to kebangsaan school.
But, like many urban, non-Malay middle-class persons: done with SPM, I would head to college, or maybe uni overseas -- actually I just started working here -- the thing is, I thought I was going places.
I put the otter into the carrier cage of my head. I wanted to travel, you see?
And I do travel. Australia and Singapore, where my siblings now live --
But also from Subang to Taman Tun to Damansara Heights to Uptown; from neighbourhood, to mall, to cafe, to bookstore. From Twitter to The Guardian to n+1.
If you are of a particular background, of a particular class, you can live on English alone.
You don’t need Bahasa.
+
It’s not like school prepares you, anyway.
The basics of Bahasa Melayu are easy. But so much of common-use Bahasa is context as much as text. There are no tenses, so time is less obvious. And the pronoun “dia” could refer to a person of any gender; an animal; an object.
Spoken Bahasa is all about efficiency: “Makan? Makan? Makan.”
Written Bahasa tends to run-on sentences, a half-dozen clauses linked together, stringing disparate thoughts along, charting orbits instead of straightforward meaning.
It is a quickly-evolving, shifting thing. A language of cues. And, exactly for this reason, if you don’t use it every day?
Very easy to tell.
Aku switch kejap ke BM. Bagi korang dengar BM aku ni macam mana. Rasanya dulu kat sekolah BM aku macam ni lah. Tapi even now bila aku dengar kata-kata yang keluar mulut aku ni, aku rasa tak sedap. Tak petah. Either sebab gagap, or skema sangat.
Just so -- so poyo!
When I locked up my otter it was so very easy to lose the key.
+
The question then is: why? Why Bahasa?
Why not stick to English? It is the language of success, after all. It will get you anywhere that matters.
It is an advantage. Why take the trouble, just to be at a disadvantage? To be vulnerable?
Not being proficient in the tongue of your homeland is embarrassing. I’ve had people laugh at me, judge me. Kata Orang Malaysia. Tapi cakap Bahasa Malaysia tak boleh.
The language divide is a chasm. It shelters ethnic and material resentments. Ultra-nationalists say that those who cakap omputeh are traitors.
I’m sure most people in this room have, at some point or other, sniggered at the broken English of a Vernacular or Kebangsaan Ed person.
I still get cabbies and Grab uncles asking me: “You don’t speak Chinese? You not Chinese? Why you not proud of being Chinese?”
Like an apartment cat, like a loris in a zoo -- it’s safer inside, dear otter. The air is air-conditioned and the bars are plexiglass.
+
Menjadi kewajiban kita!
Sanggupkah kita menyahut seruan ini? Mengambil langkah menyelamatkan negara tercinta?
Ayuh -- berjuang!”
+
Tapi aku tak ingin berjuang. Aku hanya ingin pecah kunci sangkar kepala aku ini. Lepaskan memerang yang terjerat.
I hear her scratch whenever I talk to my gardener, to the Indonesian auntie at the warung, to the Bangladeshi cleaning the mall lavatory, using the lingua -- the bahasa -- of the working class.
I hear her whimper when I switch to BM to speak to Immigration; the abang polis; the kakak at the post office. Language deployed as a cynical simulation of kinship, to make my life easier.
I don’t know whether you have an otter. I only know that I do. I locked her up: for her safety; because it was simpler. Through my eyes she sees the green and the birds of the place she was born.
I feel her hands touch the inside bone of my skull -- touch, touch, touch.
Telling me she wants to be free. To chatter with her children. To eat fish she catches herself. To swim in the waters of her home.
+++
Tumblr media
I’ve spoken about writing in and translating Bahasa Melayu, before -- why I think it’s an important thing to do; what I think it means, to be a multi-lingual writer in Malaysia --
Before this, it’s always come off as a bit self-righteous. A little lecture-y?
But I think I’ve got it, now. The most truthful way to talk about Bahasa is to talk about my relationship to Bahasa.
What it’s like. How I see it. How difficult I find it, how bad I am at it. How badly I want it. How badly I want the vulnerable animal in me to be free.

can i skip to introduce myself?
hi to anyone who read this. i gonna write this story bilingual. malay and english, in malaysia we named it bahasa rojak. i remembered when i was conducting an interview with hr, she said mix language is unprofessional - it is just a story to tell hehe not related dengan isi apa yang aku tulis.
so it is 2021 already, yey. sekejap je dah setahun tak sangka, tapi itulah yang berlaku. rasa macam banyak benda berlaku outside of my story. i mean it is not my story, it’s other. anyway. ini first post since i was typed a long explanation about myself disebabkan rasa nak tidur sangat aku decided untuk off saja laptop ni tanpa tekan button POST. aku ni bukan pengguna macbook! but okay je guna laptop ni!! still sayang and this is my nyawa no matter what dan ianya baru dan masih berhutang hahah aku ni patut bekerja lah untuk bayar laptop sendiri aihh.
sebenarnya aku nak on tumblr to write this post nak list apa yang aku impikan/ changes yang perlu dibuat. ye la, kan tahun baru. aku tak pernah ada azam tahun baru so this is my first time!
boleh tak aku nak recap what happened to me on 2020? all i can say it is nothing much but everyone has own struggle. so aku pula bagaimana? awal tahun 2020 ada indah sedikit and yang menyakitkan! ianya sisa daripada tahun 2019. waktu tu semua orang rasa why 2019 ni bring up something bad in 2020? of it is because of covid-19, waktu tu kita panggil ia sebagai corona virus (i saw sink in the bathroom brand corona too but it’s not a virus, obviously it is a sink).
what is bad happened in 2020? i broke up with with my lovely boyfriend in march 2020, because he’s going to have arrange marriage. sadly we haven’t discuss about this, i just gave him a chance to decide. but now i realized, i got wrong by doing that which lead him to let me go. we should discuss about it together back then. he isn’t like i thought. dia ada traits yang i need some time to recognize. aku faham dia mcm mana but i dont try to describe it yet. sebenarnya sampai sekarang pun aku tak boleh untuk let go but i have to. (aih ths post cannot be about him, but i already write it). but i nak sambung juga cerita pasal ni nanti atau sekarang. ah sukati lah kan sbb nobody gonna read this.
long short story, hubungan yang bermula in 2019 ended in 2020 less than 1 penggal dan telah buat aku sedih sangat. i had a tough time back then in 2019 juga and semuanya bercampur baur. my health condition, my feeling, my emotion - mixed well. i made mistakes a lot. kat sini aku rasa berdosa la pada diri sendiri. next, aku broke up twice in a year. not something to flex but idk what’s the problem. and aku juga telah di diagnose dengan perkara yang susah diterima sebagai perempuan. but aku kena keep treatment ni :)). DONE RECAP
the best thing in 2020, aku ada improvement result exam sem 5. tapi tu aku rasa sebab jawab online kot. aku jarang excellemt in exam. dulu aku gifted sebab benda senang jahhaha dah besar ni banyak dosa so ilmu susah nak lekat.
SO SEKARANG BETTER CAKAP WHAT DO I WANT FOR 2021!!
Apa yang aku rasa perlu fokus adalah
1. DIRI SENDIRI. I GONNA HAVE A BETTER ROUTINE.
2. EXERCISE REGULARLY
3. EAT CLEAN
4. KEEP TRACK NO SUGAR DAY
5. DECREASE BAD HABITS
6. STUDY, I NEED DEAN’S LIST
7. I WANT A HEALTHY BODY AND MIND
Moreover, aku juga bersyukur apa yang aku ada buat masa sekarang. aku bersyukur aku masih ada mak ayah yang sayang aku in their ways haha. because mak ayah kita kan lain love language nya. so begitu lah. aku masih ada kedua ibu bapa sehingga sekarang. it is not about my parents are good parents or not, but it is about me either im a good daughter or not. in this case manusia cenderung untuk tunding jari pada orang lain, but overlook on self.
second, aku masih ada kawan kawan yang sangat baik. ya allah. this is the one of the best rezk ive ever had. im nobody without them. they love me like a family. aku bersyukur sangat. aku pulak bukan jenis bercerita semua benda pd family, we are not that opened. alah semua orang faham this condition. kan?
im growing up. harap this year i will be wiser, pretty, healthy and kurus hahaha bcs im fcking obese right now. huhh!!! so begitu lah hidup saya setakat dua hari in 2021. dan saya juga final year di university tempatan.
saya juga berharap saya akan berjumpa my jodoh this year. i would not stop hoping for jodoh. i need to keep look for it. ya la, benda kita nak ni payah sikit so nampak disitu ada hint, yang benda ni agak challenging. but okay, itu lah kehidupan. semoga allah berikan aku pasangan terbaik dunia akhirat. bimbing aku yang jauh dari landasan, sekufu, bijak dan jadi pemimpin yang baik.
dengan ini saya tutup hati saya pada awak jiji which i just sedapkan hati sendiri. at the same time i keep pray the best for you and your future wife. be a great husband and a good leader in your small family, be the best daddy to your future children. semoga urusan you dipermudahkan. dan post gambar kahwin banyak banyak on ig. i gonna write about you in my next post. anyway, hati i sentiasa terbuka if one day you’re comeback buat masa sekarang i okay je tanpa explore orang lain, i keep myself rest and focus jaga diri. i found nowadays agak susah jumpa seseorang yang sesuai, lebih lagi bila i ni banyak flaws.
thanks diri sendiri, you did great!

Balak di Pahang pun, sampai ada org kata ada watak Tengku Wong pun, ada org kata Surat kuning.. tapi yang buatnya bukan lah kerja Istana...tapi kerja orang Politik.. sapa lagi kalau bukan UMNO..

Tiap kali PRU/PRK..maruah bani Melayu boleh disogok dgn duit.
Langgar SOP kuarantin pula dikaitkan dgn kisah burung hud-hud...
PKR perlukan gabungan mantap menghadapi PRU15...
Independence day...
I am a Malaysian first, and a Malay second. I pray to God daily, and I believe in the hereafter where all of us will all be asked to account for what we did or did not do while we were alive. But I am not excessively and destructively religious. I am unhappy with how my religion has been hijacked for political purposes, and I am angry with the people doing it. I am also angry with the charlatans and titled people who call themselves our leaders. I am unhappy with the creeping Arabization of my multi-racial and multi-cultural Malaysia. And I am angry with the dumbing down of the Malay rural population by politicians without integrity, without honour, without honesty and without conscience. Being often labelled as incendiary by my classmates at the Royal Military College, I want to say something on this sad morning of the 63rd year of our independence. I do not care if you do not like what I am going to say. Most of my classmates are presently in this "waiting to die mode" and have chosen to detach themselves from worldly affairs. Some will have a slightly longer wait compared to others, but all of us will surely die. Although on future independence days after our deaths, the sun will still shine, and the birds will still sing, I say to them, do you not care what will be the state of this country that you inherited from your fathers, that you will in turn leave behind for your children, your grandchildren, and their children and grandchildren after you? Of course, you care. You would be lying if you say you did not care. If you choose silence, and to die without conscience for the state of the country that we are leaving behind for our grandchildren, and their grandchildren, that is your cowardly choice. I choose to say what I feel and although alone I cannot do much to change things, I hope by speaking out, enough people will have their conscience pricked, and our numbers may swell enough to outnumber the living dead. And hopefully, the enlightened will be large enough in number to make a difference. For a start, this affirmative action policy has gone on for far too long. Although it has helped a lot of Malays, as a double-edged sword, it is starting to hurt the Malays more than it helps. It has bred a crutch mentality among us Malays, to an extent that initiative and entrepreneurship have atrophied among the Malays. We have become risk-averse. Our people have now come to believe that they cannot achieve anything without government help. Our race has become the object of derision by the more independently successful Chinese. Let us wean the Malays away from affirmative action. Let us embrace meritocracy. We need to taste hard work and some failure, for us to learn how to walk without needing crutches.
The affirmative action policy, when it was first mooted after the dark days of the May 13 affair, was the right thing to do. But half a century later, this policy has bred a cadre of Malay rent seekers and politicians, who exploit this policy to enrich themselves immorally and illegally. In the name of helping the Malays, GLCs and GOCs have become instruments to steal and to siphon money from public coffers. The positions of heads of these GLCs and GOCs have systematically been given not to capable and qualified persons, but are rewards reserved for politicians to entice them to leap from one party to another. In addition, these positions are also dangled in front of many senior civil servants to buy their complicity in nefarious schemes to bleed the country’s coffers. At the trial of a previous Prime Minister, we heard how senior civil servants meekly carried out the orders of the sitting PM, without acting as the check and balance that there were intended to be. No doubt they were eyeing titles and cushy positions at GLCs and GOCs post their retirement from the civil service. I say GOCs and GLCs ought to be privatised. Government should only govern, and the private sector should be tasked to do businesses. This will remove the insidious opportunity for politicians to use the GOCs and GLCs as a political tool. The effects of this disease is so entrenched today, that we are now derisively labelled as the country with the biggest kleptocracy in the entire world. One of our past Prime Ministers have even been convicted of felony, and yet the dedak infused still kiss his hands and scream, what is there to be ashamed about, whenever he makes his police escorted rounds. What have become of these people? I worked in the oil industry, and I know that Norway and us started developing our oil and gas industry at about the same time. In fact, both Norway and Malaysia have about the same size of hydrocarbon reserves beneath or land and our seas. But while Norway managed their bounty carefully, and today they have one of the world’s largest sovereign fund from oil and gas resources, exceeding one trillion USD in value, Malaysia has a sovereign debt exceeding one trillion. I remember 55 years ago, one of our Prime Ministers booted Singapore out of Malaysia. I remember clearly watching LKY crying on black and white TV after that announcement. I remember that in the few years after that event, how we got one Singapore dollar at the Caltex station just before the causeway, for only 90 Malaysian cents. Today, the Malaysian Dollar and Cents have been renamed Ringgit and Sen, but the Singapore dollar is now worth 3.6 times our miserable Ringgit and Sen. And Singapore with no natural resources at all, except the perseverance, the will, and the ingenuity of its people, and the strategic thinking of their leaders, is today one of the wealthiest countries in the world, with a per capita GDP at least a dozen times more than ours.
youtube
We are proud to have a national language which is Malay, but the policy of closing English language schools and converting all schools into Malay medium schools, and leaving vernacular schools in existence, has led to disunity among Malaysians, because our children are now educated in silos, unlike my generation who were educated differently. Our diversity should have been an asset. Instead it is highlighted to divide us. Malay was never legally removed as the national language of Singapore, but the pragmatic and smart Singaporeans encouraged the study of English and Mandarin as these two are the leading languages for commerce and science in our part of the world. So, our nationalists and leaders have not been very clever. They have not managed the issue very well. I support Malay as the national language, but I have only contempt to the politicians who caused us to lose the advantage we would have had on the world stage with a population that was multi-lingual. I feel sad today in seeing how a section of our Malaysian population is being made to be the boogey for all the failures and weaknesses of another section, the privileged section of the populace. Yet, against all odds, like the people of Singapore, this boogey section of the population are the owners and drivers of the commercial and industrial engines of this country. IMHO it is our selfish, dishonest, and immoral leaders who are to be blamed for the mess our country is in, in this 63rd year of our independence. Even as our country bleeds from the Covid calamity, our so-called leaders, are still prioritising politics over focusing on saving the country, just like the proverbial Nero still playing his harp while Rome burns. The Malay proverb, “Harapkan pagar, pagar yang memakan padi,” is appropriate, in the case of our Malaysia. So, the question is, what can we do to pull ourselves out of this cesspool we are all in? For a start, let us start seeing the elephant in the room. Let us openly talk about our issues and our problems. To my 75 year old classmates, I say, let us pause a while in our preparations for the hereafter, and try to find a workable solution to this problem confronting our nation. If we do not talk about these issues, if we are silent, no solutions will be volunteered. I know it is difficult for those aboard the gravy train to talk about these things. But the rest of us who are not, should make ourselves heard. It is too much to expect the dedak infused and naive rural folks to see the light at this stage, because for a poor family earning just RM2000 a month, a BRIM gift-payment of RM2000 of taxpayer's money, is a powerful incentive to continue voting with their pockets instead of with their heads. It brings to mind the story once told about Stalin.
As a lesson to his followers, Stalin once ripped all the feathers off a live chicken. He then set the chicken on the floor a short distance away. The chicken was bloodied and suffering immensely, yet, when Stalin tossed some bits of wheat towards the bloodied chicken, it followed him around whenever he tossed wheat to the chicken. Stalin then said to his followers, "This is how easy it is to govern stupid people. They will follow you, no matter how much pain you cause them, as long as you throw them a little worthless treat, occasionally. One of our past and disgraced PM, who championed the policy that Cash is King, probably learned it in England where we went to school. In conclusion, I leave you this little anecdote, lifted from the book “Atlas Shrugged“, written by Ayn Rand in 1957, the year we gained independence from Britain. When you see that to produce, you need permission from men who produce nothing. When you see that money flows to those who deal NOT in goods, but in favours. When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull, than by work. And your laws do not protect you from them, but protect them from you. When you see corruption being rewarded, and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice, You will know that your society is doomed. - Yusuf Hashim

An Eye Opener
Tonight is my last night in Gold Coast. And today I feel like writing bilingually sebab I've been seeing photos on Instagram with Malay caption and it's quite cool. Baru tahu betapa indahnya bahasaku ☺️ Anyway, I've been here in Australia for a week, and it's really time to go home (Christchurch I mean) I wish home would be Malaysia tho, tapi kena sabar sebab such sacrifice I believe would grant me something good at the end. Hehe. Amin. Mixed feelings to leave Gold Coast actually, because leaving this place means I have to say goodbye to Uniqlo, Krispy Creme, Chatime, Maybelline age rewind concealer and so many more things that Christchurch doesnt have. And I'll have to go back to cold weather anddddd workkkkk 😪 *sigh* tapi at the same time I can't wait to go back sebab I've been missing proper home-cooked meal and my bed and my kdramas haha. So while I'm in Gold Coast, I've been mostly travelling alone. Exploring alone, walking alone and surviving alone. I'm so thankful for this opportunity because I've been wanting to travel alone even though it never come to my mind it would be Gold Coast - bawahasanya ketahuilah anda bahawa Gold Coast adalah tempat yg sangat sesuai untuk dikunjungi bersama family; because of the theme parks mainly. I always thought that travelling alone or backpacking is awesome and so cool and I want to be one of the cool people, tapi nyata nyaya sangkaanku meleset because it is so hard!!! Especially if you are a person who has a lifestyle like me! (Yang jenis tak pernah pakai bikini and bukan party people) sebab it was so hard to make friends because we are too different. And maybe this is my first time alone that's why masih terkontang kanting sengsorang kat sini. And during this period mula lah rasa nak balik lah and rasa 'kan best kalau ada bla bla bla *insert whoever you want to go travel with*' (and I will touch on someone yang you nak travel with sebab it's another important thing you have to know before travelling.) Ok back to my loneliness issue, but then when I am alone thats when I learn so many things about myself and other things as well such as when you are in a desperate situation, you have to be brave to ask someone to buy a tram ticket for you because you don't know you destination! Therefore bila dah go through such situation, then I realized despite keadaan dunia yg makin tak stabil, rusuhan sana sini and issue issue seperti racism feminism apa semua, there are still a lot of kind people who would not mind helping other people dgn hati yang terbuka. There are A LOT of them. Betul lah orang cakap, don't judge people by its cover. Apparently orang yg tindik sana sini tattoo penuh satu badan rambut dah macam sarang lebah lah yg helped me carrying my luggage. Seriously, travelling is so good to open your eyes and mind of the outside world. You really have to be tough and strong. And in my case, I am still not that strong to go travel alone again tapi boleh start slow slow by travelling with a friend or two. Tapi this experience didnt make me serik, it's just that I'm not prepared. I will, one day, travel alone again just to prove to myself and to throw the mindset yg I cant go out of my comfort zone. And in terms of travelling with someone pulak, it's really important to go travel with someone who you really really kenal with because otherwise the whole vacation would be such a waste. Macam my trip sekarang ni, this is my first time travelling with a guy friend and sedikit sebanyak make me uncomfortable with him and I dont even know why 😭 Sebab masa travel lah you will see the other side of them yang has never been unleashed before. In my case, he was like a typical guy, with a blank mind tahu nak have fun je without thinking of any consequences. For example, he didnt even pay attention to what im saying and then would ask the same question again and again when i have explained thousands time sebab he wasnt even listening sebab ye lah fun dah depan mata. Ish! Geram! Ke sebab me being a typical girl, overthink on the plan of the trip to make it run smoothly last last hancoq!!! Ok wtv it was a super bad memory. So moral of the story, go travel with someone who you would say your other half or wtv you want to call them (not just boyfriend, it can be anyone) Travelling can be challenging but it is you to decide whether to take the challenge or keep being like katak bawah tempurung :)

Cinta? Love?
Yesterday which was Thursday, we had our Media Relations class. Half hour before we finished the class, the lecturer asked us to do spontaneous short essays. She gave a topic and we had to write in 5 minutes only. First we had to do essays in Malay and later on she gave English topics. The Malay topics were Ayam, Pisang, Cinta, Pantai and Telefon Bimbit while the English topics were about Fever, Pizza, Flower, Rainbow and  I don’t remember what is the other one.
Imagine I’ve never write long proper Malay sentences ever since 2012 during SPM and after that I only write in English. The struggle is real like seriously and we had to quickly write just within 5 minutes and my brain was having a mental breakdown. At the same time, I don’t want my essays to have the same contents as others’. Right after Malay essays, we only had a few seconds of break to prepare writing in English. She just randomly spat out ‘Flower’ and my mind went blank, I just wrote whatever was in my mind and then she said “Stop writing!” then she said “Pizza”, and I was like “Pizza? What about it?”. I ended up naming different kind of cheeses that I could think of.
After all the mental breakdown and hideous handwriting, Madam read aloud our names and essays. It’s funny and also amusing to hear that most of us are really good in Malay writing, well I wouldn’t say that I am good enough to be so poetic in writing, just  okay. When Madam was reading one of our papers on ‘Cinta’ topic, it started with “Cinta itu buta..” the whole class laughed out loud. Then it continues with all the emotions and affections from one person to another.. blaa blaa.. Here is the main thing that I’m going to write about.. Such a long introduction for a topic right? :) It’s about love.
I won’t explain what is love whatsoever since I don’t have PhD in human feelings and thoughts.. or should I? Put that aside, you see, as I enter this university life, I’ve seen so many kind of couples, and I really wonder how on earth can they just accept other people? I’ve seen couples who were just met in university and  only known each other for few months and in the end they got married by the end of the year. I’ve seen such troublesome couple but they are still together and I’ve seen such an awkward couple that it makes everyone sick of it and also people who keep on changing boyfriends and girlfriends. I wonder what was in their mind or their hearts?
I just let the curiosity unanswered. What despise me the most is those couples who are.. I don’t know, excited, bragging, show off or want to cherish the moments of them to the whole world in which the whole world is sick and feels like puking whenever they update about their love life. Like damn seriously you people. They are not even married couples, like what the hell? You are not a public figure that has the public interest. Especially girls. Just keep the hell to yourselves. When it comes to MonDate, then update to all social media, after that TuesDate, WednesDate, ThursDate, FriDate, SaturDate and SunDate. What has come to the world that everything is exposed? Then anniversaries, like plural of anniversary. Celebrate the first meeting, celebrate the first this that blaa blaa then birthdays ughhh the list can go on and on and on. It is fucking intimidating.
Dude, even married couples are not desperate to do all of these. In addition to this madness, THE TOUCH. Mind, this is my own opinion, no reputation is tarnished due to this writing. I don’t mind people who are already married and those who are non-Muslims. But what really irritates the eyes are when couples who are not even married and they are Muslims and some of them are even my friends and people I know.
Sudah terang lagi bersuluh, jawab soalan Pendidikan Islam A lagi tu, faham faham la haram kalau tiada pertalian yang sah. Asal bengap sangat? Cinta till jannah konon tapi jangan sebab benda remeh cuit-cuit, pegang tangan salam berkat abadi, cuit pipi, disapu-sapu muka, syurga pun tak dapat bau. Dah tahap bangang abadi dah ni. Benda nampak mudah tapi tak boleh kawal. Sampai mana je weyh boleh kekal kalau dah selalu main tangan?
Nak cinta, cintalah tapi janganlah tunjuk terhegeh-hegeh sangat. Yang sedih tu, kawan sendiri macam tu, nak tegur tapi benda dah tahu. Dah tahap menyampah dah aku tengok, buka sns muka ni, pegi tempat ni muka ni, kelakuan ni. Niat ikhlas berkawan pun hilang.
Done rant.

Jawatan Menteri & GLC - satu untuk kau, satu untuk aku...
Jawatan Menteri & GLC - satu untuk kau, satu untuk aku....
Puak2 sembab dgn semburit yg berapa kerat tu boleh "buli" parti melayu keris telanjang dlm meeting mereka. Mereka perlekehkan pmimpin2 parti keris telanjang dgn kata2 cukup umpan mereka dgn beberapa menteri dan jawatan dlm GLC, itu sudah cukup, kata sembab. Kemudian mereka ramai2 ketawa berdekah-dekah..-f/bk
Biaq betoi? No wonder Tun M tak setuju. Otak Yiddin ni kira habih "meta" habih cerdik sampai tinggai hampeh kot? Cuba dengaq ni, payah gak nak faham, dengaq ulangkali.Aku pun belum cukup "khatam" tapi bolehlah faham.
Hamzah Zainuddin (Larut). 2. Mustapa Mohamed (Jeli). 3. Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz (Tanah Merah). 4. Rosol Wahid (Hulu Terengganu). 5. Shabuddin Yahya (Tasek Gelugur). 6. Noor Azmi Ghazali (Bagan Serai). 7. Mohd Faslah Mohd Fakeh (Sabak Bernam). 8. Mas Ermieyati Samsudin (Masjid Tanah). 9. Dr Abdul Latif Ahmad (Mersing). 10. Abdul Rahim Bakri (Kudat). 11. Azizah Mat Dom (Sepitang). 12. Ronald Kiandee (Baluran). 13. Zakaria Idris (Libaran).

- a.kadir jasin

Betapa jahat si Hamzah ni...
PPBM secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin once described Muhyiddin Yassin as a “power hungry” leader who wanted to topple Najib Razak’s administration, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman claimed today.
He said Hamzah, who was then an Umno Supreme Council member, had told him Muhyiddin wanted to become the prime minister just before the last general election.
“That was why he (Muhyiddin) kept on attacking Najib,” he said at a press conference here, adding Hamzah had related this to him.
Perihal Presiden PPBM yang pelik
Din should respond as
there are graft allegations...
BERSATU youth wing (ARMADA) executive committee member (religious affairs) Abu Hafiz Salleh Hudin has called for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to swiftly answer allegations of graft related to a voice recording from the party’s supreme council meeting on February 23 which surfaced yesterday. The voice recording reveals more excerpts of the Bersatu supreme council meeting on February 23, which led to the party’s controversial exit from the Pakatan Harapan coalition to join forces with 10 rogue PKR members of parliament led by Azmin Ali, Umno-led Barisan Nasional, PAS and GPS in a political coup that resulted in the current Muhyiddin-led Perikatan Nasional ruling ensemble. Dr Mahathir and four other Bersatu MPs objected to the coup and have remained with Pakatan Harapan on the opposition bloc, forming a split between two factions for control of Bersatu itself. Abu Hafiz called for Muhyiddin to answer serious allegations that have surfaced from this recording. “The voice recording points to criminal intent and relates to corrupt offers of positions. It is followed by corresponding actions after PN assumed the government. Does Muhyiddin admit or deny that it is his voice?” asked Abu Hafiz.
Moga SPRM boleh buka siasatan kpd pemilik suara audio mirip Din ni, sebab janji jawatan utk habuan tebuk atap tu pun termasuk RASUAH jugakan? Berani dia tiru suara Din?
In the two minute and 24 seconds clip (top most clip) which went viral on social media yesterday, a voice resembling that of Bersatu president and Prime Minister Muhyiddin appears to instruct, among others, the expansion of Bersatu via crossovers from Umno, including from former Prime Minister Najib Razak’s camp. The voice resembling Muhyiddin is heard instructing council members, including allegedly directly addressing the likes of current Home Minister Hamzah Zainuddin, Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu (Peja) and Paya Rumput assemblyman Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen. “I said there are over 30 Umno currently, can we meet them and say, ‘Hey, we are going to form the government man, why don’t you come and join Bersatu?’. Bersatu is already with 41, add to that 10 from Umno, we are the biggest party,” the voice said.
The voice also appeared to address former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, by stating, “I’m sorry to say, you don’t follow, but I thought that could be done.” But Abu Hafiz’s bone of contention came in the following quote from the video which appears to indicate the enticement of crossovers allegedly and admittedly (by the voice resembling Muhyiddin’s) with offers of ministerial and GLC posts. “If we take another, another, another, maybe there are among them, moreover if they have certain offers, why not? What is the difference between joining Bersatu and remaining in Umno? “If we carry out such efforts, maybe some of them will join Bersatu. And there are those who have joined Bersatu. Thus, Bersatu will become an enlarged party. Imagine if 30 come in with us, with the 40 that we have, we are the single largest Malay ruling party in the country. This is the scheme of things.
“Sorry to say brother, Even if I am sick, I do work. Every night I speak to people, ‘Can we not do it?’ “The other day, I spoke to Hamzah, Peja, you can too Rafiq. Talk to one, to three, four, five people.. If you add one, two three… If they know a new government is to be formed, Umno comes in, ‘why don’t you come in now? Why don’t you join us now rather than you join later?’ “I think if we do that, a large number will become members, 10, 20… with Najib and his clan. And we give them positions. If they are not ministers, become chairmen of GLCs. “At the beginning maybe they don’t want to leave. Rather than stay now and become opposition. They want to be part of the government. “ The next line rather obviously exposes Dr Mahathir’s opposition towards the move. “Of course, Tun said to me, No, maybe they will do something. I don’t think they can do something. And everybody follows Najib’s demands. And threaten us, if you don’t give this we will exit en masse. “It may be possible, but maybe not successful. So, I think don’t make a total conclusion because if it happened and Umno gets the upper hand. Thus the scheme of thing, if we do this it will strengthen Bersatu. “If Tun calls two or three Umno people, we suggest ‘join now, join now’… If this happens we become the majority. Bigger than any other party there is now. When is the time? This is it…” - talkedabout

Penang CM sets record straight, calls Azmin 'lazy'
Dia sendiri sedar, dia naik pun atas simpati puak2 tu. Dua tiga orang je tarik sokongan, jatuhlah kerajaan semburit tu..pengkhianat tak boleh tunjuk tegas atau berani sebab yg sokong dia pun pengkhianat juga... - f/bk

SPRM siasat kontrak RM 30 juta...
Pandemic or no, politics alive and kicking...
Although Umno leaders are downplaying the rift between the party and Bersatu in Johor, the point is tension is simmering. Umno supreme council member Datuk Tajuddin Rahman admits that Umno, Bersatu and even PAS are "competing " in the state, but at "grassroots level," he says. Whatever it is, Tajuddin believes problems between Umno and Bersatu can be resolved if Bersatu members join Umno. He did not say where that will put PAS at, but as the Islamist party is already with Umno in Muafakat Nasional, I suppose PAS will not have a problem with his proposal. Anyway, Tajuddin did not stop there. He said should Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin join Umno, Muhyiddin can remain prime minister. I don't know if the Umno leadership (and PAS for that matter) share that view. But as a seasoned politician, Tajuddin surely has his "motives" in saying things. As to what his "motives" are this time, your guess is as good as mine. But he said what he said at a time when some faction in Bersatu wanted the party to return to the Pakatan Harapan fold, at the very least in Johor. Anyway to say politics is at play is a no brainer. To Datuk A Kadir Jasin, veteran journalist and Bersatu supreme council member, there is basis in the "theory" that Muhyiddin is working on his journey back to Umno – based on his "moves" in "downgrading Bersatu to be an underdog and Umno the top dog". Moves like allowing the Menteri Besar post in Johor which was Bersatu's during the Pakatan Harapan rule given to an Umno man when Perikatan Nasional took over. Then there are GLCs and government agencies appointments seen favorable mostly to Umno
We are now hearing of rumors as "highlighted " by DAP's Liew Chin Tong recently. Rumors have it that Muhyiddin, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein are trying to form a new party. For them this could be a brilliant solution to all their problems. And as we know, there are many problems they are facing, in particular the prime minister himself.  A quick recap. Muhyiddin is still confronted by Tun Mahathir Mohamad. Although he is the president of Bersatu, Mahathir is chairman who still yields considerable power and support. And Mahathir's son Datuk Seri Mukhriz is challenging Muhyiddin for presidency. The father-and-son threat cannot be taken lightly. Muhyiddin knows this. For now there's some "breathing space" as the Bersatu polls have been put on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic. So with a new party there is no worry about the Bersatu elections. For Azmin, he could dispel accusation that he had abandoned his supporters especially the non-Malays who are "stranded" in PKR. So with a new party his supporters could find a political home. And if I may add, Azmin who holds no high post in Bersatu, could consolidate his position. Perhaps as Muhyiddin's deputy in the new party. After all, he is already seen as the de facto deputy prime minister in the Muhyiddin administration, much to the chagrin of Umno despite being an ally in Perikatan Nasional. It's no secret Umno is no big fan of Azmin. Hishammuddin will use the new party as a platform for his faction to bring the "real" support much needed by Muhyiddin. And as I see it, this will also give Hishammuddin a reprieve of sorts considering he is not exactly in the good books of the Umno leadership. When I asked a supreme council member of Bersatu on the possible formation of the new party, his response was just one word – "interesting". He did not want to elaborate. However, Azlan Zainal, CEO of research outfit Ilham Center, tells me he too has heard of "talks" of the so-called formation of a new party by Muhyiddin, Azmin and Hishammuddin. He says among others the new party would "ease" the pressure exerted by Umno and be a contingency plan to find a new footing in facing GE15. That's politics for you.
Umno leaders are not mincing words in criticizing Muhyiddin, his administration as well as his party. They often give "reminders" that Perikatan Nasional is a "loose coalition" as if suggesting Umno's presence in it is not permanent. In fact, Umno and PAS have always been gung ho for a snap general election which they say their Muafakat Nasional pact can win for them to rule the country. Genuine confidence or false bravado? Hard to say. It is obvious Muhyiddin faces a dilemma in balancing to please Umno and PAS in return for support for him to continue to be prime minister. However, at the same time Muhyiddin has himself acted to consolidate his position, like sacking people in Team Mahathir from important posts in Bersatu. He has financial aid to parliamentary constituencies held by Mahathir and Muar MP Syed Saddiq Rahman who is a Mahathir loyalist. Politics at play again. Then we have the one-day parliamentary sitting scheduled for May 18. There is a big perception that the government, in particular Muhyiddin, is worried, to put it lightly, of a no-confidence vote against him. This despite the opposition saying testing the prime minister in parliament now during these depressing times is not a priority. But Muhyiddin apparently did not want to take such "assurance" for granted. Put simply, he cant risk it. Hence, just one day for parliament. Perception or not, in a nutshell what has been taking place is lots of political maneuvering. And what I've written here is just some if it. "At a time when we are hit by the pandemic, politicians are strategizing to consolidate their positions as well as that of their proxies," says Azlan. I agree. Despite the pandemic and Muhyiddin saying the rakyat are fed up with politics and want the government to work hard for them, the political game is very much being played even by people already having power. Expect more to come. - Mohsin Abdullah

UMNO guna Din utk jadi gomen, lepas tu terajang jatuh katil...
UMNO guna Din utk jadi gomen, lepas tu terajang jatuh katil....
- ShahbudinHusin
UMNO threat to Bersatu main
challenge to PN's stability...
Bersatu' s leadership is aware of its fragile political position. Its short term priority is to ensure the stability of the current government.  They will offer GLC and other government agency positions to PN backbenchers in order to secure their loyalty. They will continue to ‘entice’ opposition MPs to join PN with various offers.  Read Part 1 - Umno's dilemma in the PN coalition government The Prime Minister will continue to seek Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s ‘blessing’ for his government. The current Bersatu leaders will also want to strengthen their positions within the party by winning positions in the upcoming party elections. But even if Bersatu can slightly increase PN’s parliamentary majority in the short term, it cannot hope to just continue with the status quo until GE15.  Bersatu knows that Umno and PAS has no incentive to have a PN coalition contest in GE15. It knows that it is much weaker in terms of its political machinery and branding compared to Umno and PAS. Hence, it has only one option for survival which is to replace Umno as the main Malay party in a ruling coalition. To do this, Bersatu has to do the following: (1) Entice more Umno MPs and state reps to join Bersatu and to ‘divide’ Umno in preparation for GE15. (2) Continue to put pressure on Umno by not dropping the ongoing court cases against Umno leaders (3) Try to build its alternative coalition to Barisan Nasional/Muafakat Nasional/Pakatan Harapan.
UMNO merger unlikely Of course, some may bring up the possibility of Bersatu merging back with Umno similar to what Semangat 46 (S46) did in the past.  But S46 did not have any incumbents with government positions whereas in the case of Bersatu, you have many MPs who are used to the trappings of power and would do whatever it takes to retain their positions.  They know that in a merger with Umno, very few of them will survive the internal ‘purge’ and be allowed to contest in GE15.  After all, many of its leaders, especially at the grassroots level, joined Bersatu because they were not able to obtain significant positions in Umno. As such, the possibility of a merger is not preferable or possible for Bersatu. Umno knows that the more time Bersatu has, the greater the likelihood of it succeeding in weakening Umno and building itself up in preparation for GE15.  Hence, the optimal long term strategy for Umno to regain its dominance in government is not to ensure that the current government led by Muhyiddin can last the full term until GE15, which has to be called by 2023.
Tumblr media
Hence, Umno has to choose the best time to withdraw support for this government in order to trigger a general election. This may not happen in the near future as the country is dealing with the health and economic crisis created by the Covid-19 virus. But once there are signs that the Covid-19 health crisis becomes more manageable, Umno's leadership may strike at any time. One thing which is hard to predict is the strategy of the Umno MPs who have not been given any cabinet positions, especially those which have outstanding court charges. Will they ‘sabotage’ the current government by, for example, not turning up to lend support to a key government bill and by doing so, trigger the collapse of the government?  This consideration becomes more likely if the court cases against the Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan and some members of the Umno Supreme Council are not dropped before the end of 2020. In the meantime, we can already see some signs of disgruntlement among Umno leaders against the current government. Their targets seem to be focused on Bersatu leaders so far. For example, Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki questioned Azmin Ali’s decision to allow additional sectors to operate from the  April 15-28.
Former MP for Johor Bahru, Shahrir Samad, questioned the need for the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) to get involved in sectors such as hair cutting, asking if Miti is now a ‘Super Minister’ under Senior Minister Azmin. Zambry Abdul Kadir, former Menteri Besar of Perak, tweeted pictures of undistributed food aid from Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysian (JKM) and questioned Bersatu Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Rina Harun, on whether they were waiting for the ‘penyelaras parlimen’ or parliamentary coordinator to be appointed before the aid could be distributed. Khaled Nordin, former Menteri Besar of Johor, also criticised Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali, for having a meal with a group of tahfiz students in Perak during the MCO by saying that this was not a good example to set for others. There will likely be more of these kinds of direct and indirect attacks by Umno leaders against the PN government, especially from leaders who did not agree to the formation of the PN government together with Bersatu This dilemma is the main reason why the PN government will not likely last the full three years before this parliamentary term expires in May 2023. The Umno dilemma is a real threat for Bersatu and for the PN government. - Ong Kian Meng,mk
 Will there be accountability
for Covid-19 funds?...
When some things don’t add up, can a gun help balance the accounts? It is not in the least suggested that this methodology be used, but in times of crisis, one learns valuable training on transparency and accountability. It was two weeks after the tsunami hit north and east Sri Lanka on Boxing Day in 2004. Photographer Raj Kumar Soman and I were inside a huge zinc-roofed store – the logistics hub of the Tamil Tigers in Killinochi in Sri Lanka - where a lorry load of donations from Malaysians were being unloaded. With clipboards in hand, we were monitoring the unloading when a boy, who could be no more than 15 approached us. “What are you doing?” he asked. We explained that we have to account for all the boxes because these were donated by generous Malaysians for the people affected by the tsunami. “You sit down there, sir. If anyone touches any of these boxes, I will but a bullet in his head.” It was an order from a Tiger cadre with a Smith & Wesson tucked in his belt. We asked for bottled water to quench our thirst in the sweltering heat. When the whole unloading exercise was completed, the same boy came to us with a piece of paper: “Sign this.”
“What is this?” “Sir, this is for the two bottles of water we gave you. We took it from our store and we must keep a record of everything.” That was more than a mere lesson in humility and humbleness – the bearer of donations has to account for two bottles of water from a donee! Transparency and accountability are basic traits of good governance. Despite all the killing, maiming and destruction, the Tigers earned a reputation for being above board in their dealings and hence, they continued to receive aid despite the atrocities. As this is being written, millions of ringgit have been collected by the Malaysian government. Business leaders have been lining up with their mock cheques handing them over to members of the cabinet including the prime minister. Elsewhere, individuals and groups are raising money too – helping in their own way to help the needy. To all of them, nothing less than a "Syabas!" is due. But some questions: - What happens after the money is handed over? - How is it being spent? - Who decides how it should be spent? - Are there proper procurement procedures? - Are the best prices obtained for the purchase of goods and services? - Are they dealing with reputable suppliers or have those with tainted hands returned to fray? - Will they make public an income and expenditure statement and support it with documents? - These are some of the questions that have arisen following various announcements by ministers. Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa announced this week that a Crisis Management Centre will set up a bank account under Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to receive donations from the public. This is to cover the cost of purchasing essentials for some 17,000 residents, mostly foreign workers, staying near the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market who are affected by the enhanced movement control order (MCO) there. This, he said, would be done to avoid using taxpayers’ money to finance the cost of providing supplies to foreigners who include Myanmar nationals, Rohingyas and those carrying United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees identification cards. In short, he expects citizens to look after their upkeep and welfare. But again, will the money be spent prudently? So, is this another “secret” bank account and the signatories not accountable to anyone? How do you expect people to part with their money, albeit for a good cause, when they have no confidence that it will be spent for the cause or at the extreme, maybe on another Birkin bag? Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has refuted allegations that the government is providing food aid not worth the budgeted RM100 per pack. Referring to the complaint by Rasah MP Cha Kee Chin, he explained that this “smaller” form of aid came from NGOs which sent them to the Social Welfare Department for distribution.
Inilah cara penyamun gagau duit...
Let us for a moment buy the minister’s story. Now, more questions: - How many such packets of food were donated? - Who are the NGOs or individuals who donated? - Who keeps an account on such donations and who decides what goes where? - Does this aid complement or replace the one worth RM100 promised by the government? - Now, the most important question: What is happening to the Perikatan Nasional government’s promise to deliver 1,000 food packs for the B40 lower-income group in each Parliament constituency? And this is a lot of money. At RM100,000 per constituency and with 222 constituencies, it adds up to a massive RM22.2 million. If you use NGO donations, then, where is this humongous amount going? Let’s have plausible and credible answers of a change – not one-liners like “Semuanya OK”. On social media is a letter from the Health Ministry identifying suppliers of protective gear to hospitals. One of the companies on the list is one "Jakel Trading". Does the name sound familiar? Unless you are one of them who has forgotten the 1MDB saga during this period when our focus is on the coronavirus The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) last month failed in its application to forfeit RM10.7 million it seized from Jakel Trading Sdn Bhd, believed to be linked to the 1MDB scandal. The High Court judge Muhammad Jamil Hussin made the decision after he was satisfied that the payment received by Jakel Trading was a regular business transaction. Well, enough said for the record. Are we going back to old ways of the abang-adik crony system? Are we going back to the era when it is not what you sold, but how well you knew the buyer? By the way, how is the RM1.3 billion that was repatriated to Malaysia from the funds that were stolen from 1MDB going to be spent? Who’s keeping check or will it turn out to be a case similar to a "donation" from an Arab prince? It is for all right-thinking Malaysians to demand for some kind of accountability from this government failing which thieves, felons and kleptocrats will dictate our lives, how we lead them and how we spend our money. - R Nadeswaran,mk

Pentadbiran Kerajaan tempang tanpa TPM...
Pentadbiran Kerajaan tempang tanpa TPM....
- ShahbudinHusin
Story kat sini...
Kelmarin Hadi kata kalau tak lantik jadi TPM, dia nak balik jadi nelayan... Pagi tadi ternampak pulak gambar Haji Hadi sedang mengenakan pakaian hulubalang istana.... Kemudian dapat pulak senarai tertulis Hadi jadi Menteri Dalam Negeri... Aku percaya lah.Rupanya Hadi tak dilantik jadi apa-apa pun.... Sia-sia je dia berfalsampah tentang demokrasi ada banyak pintu...  - f/bk
Tengku Zafrul,the new Finance Minister...
Isnt this the same Tengku Zafrul, the CEO of CIMB Bank, now appointed as Finance Minister, who closed both eyes and kept quiet as the very same bank received and paid out 1MDB stolen 1MDB money to corrupt kleptocrats? Isnt he the buddies with Nazir Razak and his MO1 brother Najib Razak??
Din,you are basically appointing a puppet of Nazir Razak, brother of MO1 Najib Razak to be in charge of our money!!! Is like asking a monkey to guared a banana.. - f/bk
- f/bk

Everybody to blame but Mahathir...
Hearing Mahathir talk about how the whole Pakatan Harapan (PH) house of cards came tumbling down can be exasperating. In his own mind his actions were exemplary; it was all somebody else’s fault. He had everything going for him, mind you – a popular mandate, a comfortable majority in parliament and coalition partners who were more than happy to give him the time and space he needed to implement the Malaysia Baru agenda. Instead of making the most of the opportunity, he started playing his political games, pushing his old discredited policies (including yet another national car) and stoking discord within his coalition. Despite the PH consensus that Anwar would eventually take over from him, he went out of his way to undermine Anwar. It was clear then, as it is now, that he was determined to shut Anwar out never mind his repeated assurances to the contrary. He created this instability. He was the puppet master behind the whole move to replace PH with a Malay unity government. What he didn’t anticipate what that some of the puppets had both ambitions of their own and very sharp knives.

Nak kutuk saya lagi buat apa? Tanya Anwar pada Tun Mahathir...
Dr Mahathir kritik Anwar gila nak jadi PM? Anwar tidak setuju konsep  "Unity Government" Tun M?  Ini Penjelasan Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim
And even now, when PH leaders are desperately trying to find the numbers to mount a challenge in parliament to Muhyiddin’s backdoor government, Mahathir cannot resist attacking his erstwhile coalition partners. PH was indecisive, he says. They did not move fast enough to endorse his proposal for one-man rule, as if that was really an option. He also says that Anwar insisted on being appointed deputy prime minister during subsequent negotiations to restore PH to power. What’s wrong with that? Wasn’t there an agreement for Anwar to succeed him eventually? Wasn’t Anwar’s party one of the biggest in the coalition? It would have, in fact, made perfect sense and end the uncertainty over the succession issue once and for all. Mahathir claims that he turned down Anwar’s request to be DPM because “two prominent civil society leaders” met him “to complain about Anwar’s apparent lack of leadership skills,” that Anwar was “more in tune with politicking rather than as an administrator.” How convenient. Since when has Mahathir ever listened to civil society leaders? Did he heed their calls to abolish anti-democratic legislation? Did he act on their demands for a transparent inquiry into the enforced disappearances of Raymond Koh, Amri Che Mat and Ruth and Joshua Hilmi? Was he attentive to their concerns about Lynas?
For him to use the opinions of unnamed civil society leaders to justify excluding Anwar from the post of DPM is simply disingenuous. It just shows how determined he was to keep Anwar out. The whole country was hoping that PH would somehow pull together and salvage itself from looming disaster but Mahathir was only interested in pursuing his vendetta against Anwar.
He did not, of course, mention who the two “prominent” civil society leaders were but, if what he says is true, they should be ashamed of themselves for conspiring against Anwar. Civil society leaders have an obligation to be transparent; they shouldn’t be playing political games in private while publicly promoting transparency, democracy and good governance. All that is, of course, water under the bridge now. With Mahathir attacking his own coalition partners instead of trying to build consensus, banish any thought about a confidence motion in parliament to bring down the Muhyiddin’s administration. Like it or not, we are stuck – at least for now – with a backdoor government that makes a mockery of our elections. Thank you very much, Dr Mahathir! - Dennis Ignatius  Anwar kata kenapa terus mengkritiknya dipercayai beliau tuju kepada Mahathir yang tetap tidak mahu melantiknya sebagai TPM kalau Mahathir berpeluang jadi PM semula selepas letak jawatan. Iya kenapa terus menghina Anwar.

Beliau bagaimanapun keluar PAS dua tahun kemudian. - mk

Bini Saiful Juboq interview Atok exclusive 1 to 1...
Masa Tun angkat sumpah Perdana Menteri hari tu Parlimen pun blm bersidang... apasal kata kena rujuk Parlimen? Tun dpt angkat sumpah hari tu bila Kak Wan mewakili PH mencadangakan nama Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad sbg PM mewakili PH. Kenapa Kak Wan yg menghadap Agung? Sebab semua calon PH guna lambang PKR dan Kak Wan sbg Presiden PKR yg menang dgn majoriti disokong oleh Warisan di Sabah. Masa Tun M serah jawatan PM kpd Pak Lah dulu pun tak bawa ke parlimen. Begitu juva masa Allayarham Tun Razak meninggal, perlantikan Tun Husein Onn tak serah pd parlimen cukup dgn TPM sbg pemangku Pengerusi BN menyembah perkenan KBDYMM YDP Agung. Kubing2

Will PPSMI make its comeback?...
Someone posted on Facebook, asking "mengapa PM bagi bola tanggung kepada lawan?" In sports parlance, to give a "bola tanggung" is to give a golden opportunity to the opponent to make a kill. Usually it's used in badminton when player A "invitingly" floats the shuttlecock into the opponent's (Player B's) court, thus providing a great chance for Player B to smash the shuttlecock into Player A's court and score a point. Some folks say giving such a ball is suicidal. But that person who was asking why the prime minister was giving a "bola tanggung" wasn't talking about badminton or sports. He was referring to Tun Mahathir Mohamad's remarks in pushing, yet again, for the teaching of science and mathematics in English, the controversial PPSMI or Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Sains dan Matematik Dalam Bahasa Inggeris. The prime minister's remarks were made when he was speaking at a special education ministry meeting recently. As we know, Mahathir is also acting education minister. A video of his remarks at the meeting was uploaded on his official YouTube. Therefore, when that person on Facebook pointed out, so to speak, that Mahathir had floated a "bola tanggung", obviously he was talking about the PM giving not only his but also Pakatan Harapan's political opponents and detractors a golden opportunity to go to town with the issue and hit out at the government in an effort to get the people's support, in particular Malays who are in great numbers opposed to PPSMI.  True enough, many a Mahathir detractor are already up in arms opposing his intention. Malay rights groups are vocal and dead against the move. In fact the so-called "uprising" was immediate. It came as soon as Mahathir's video was uploaded. Umno has not jumped onto the bandwagon as I am writing this. Perhaps this has got something to do with speculation of a tie-up of sorts between Umno and Bersatu, the party of which Mahathir is chairman, and also because Umno president Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi wants his party to support Mahathir to remain PM amidst demands the transition to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim be made in May. That's a topic for another day!
But PAS, who is Umno's partner in Muafakat Nasional, is already hitting out at the move, saying: "It's a smoke screen to cover or divert attention from weaknesses and problems in Pakatan Harapan." That was said by its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, despite being a strong supporter for Mahathir to remain PM for at least one full term. Surely politician extraordinaire Mahathir, with wealth of experience and high political stature, would have anticipated all the accusations, brickbats and what-nots. So, why did he voice out the intention of bringing back PPSMI? He admits his views are not always popular or acceptable to many people but "I feel I need to push certain things to make sure our children grow up and find themselves able to tackle the problems of adult life. That is the purpose of education." Mahathir has always believed the mastery of English is a vital element of education, and he sees that while geography and history can come in any language, "science and mathematics are not indigenous fields of knowledge, as they come from abroad and mostly in English." Therefore we are going to use English in the teaching of science and mathematics. That means we don't confuse people. We find those who study science in Malay cannot work where English is required. That has always been his stance. Mahathir first introduced PPSMI back in 2003 when he was the country's fourth prime minister and when he was Umno president and BN chairman. Many Malays opposed it as they do now. They accused Mahathir of belittling the Malay language. That and many more accusations back then are being used again this time.
Needless to say, the policy was unpopular including or especially among then opposition in the likes of multiracial PKR as well as PAS. PKR is now in the government and has said it needs to discuss Mahathir's intention of bringing back PPSMI. Obviously Mahathir's move has put PKR in a spot. Also in a spot would be Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Muhyiddin was education minister when PPSMI was scraped in 2016 by the Najib-led BN government. And Muhyiddin was quoted then as saying the program had resulted in smaller numbers of rural students passing science and mathematics. It would be interesting to know what would be the view of Muhyiddin or Bersatu for that matter now that Mahathir wants a PPSMI comeback. Now we are hearing this issue can even lead to a Pakatan Harapan election defeat, if not handled properly.  But Mahathir has said the PSSMI comeback is not a done deal. A committee has been set up to review the issue and take into account strong opinions on both sides of the matter. Everybody says the PM can debate the issue. That would mean the public, media, students, teachers, parent-teacher associations and anyone else. Everybody means everybody. So, PKR and Bersatu ought to make its stand clear on the matter. Will the government, and in particular Mahathir, listen to the feedback, opinions and views? They have to, I would say. At the end of the day, it would be about numbers. The numbers of those supporting PPSMI and the number of those opposing it. Which group has the bigger number? - Mohsin Abdullah

Malaysia’s (And Malays’) Darkest Moment...
Malaysia’s (And Malays’) Darkest Moment....
Latheefa Koya, Chief of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC), released wiretaps on then-Prime Minister Najib Razak’s phone. The world heard, among other things, a late midnight call by Dzulkifli Ahmad, then a public prosecutor, tipping off Najib on impending criminal charges against him, as well as his (Najib’s) groveling to the Crown Prince of UAE pleading to him to backdate a loan agreement to protect Reza Aziz, Najib’s stepson and one of the principals named in the DOJ’s Asset Forfeiture Lawsuit of July 2016. Hearing His Highness repeatedly giving Najib a not-so-subtle royal shove-off and Najib not getting the message was painful.] I had to take breaks more than a few times while watching MACC Chief Lateefa Koya’s press conference of January 8, 2020. I had to, my revulsion could not be restrained otherwise. Persevere I did, only to be cursed with the darkest of moods at the end. This is what Malaysia has turned into, her leader with utter impunity and unbridled arrogance betraying the sacred trust citizens have placed upon him. Not just him but also his coterie of top officials. I was gripped me with an even deeper melancholy, accompanied by utter shame and barely controlled rage, on realizing that those officials were all Malays. Many were later honored as Datuks, Datuk Seris, and Tan Sris. Is this what Malay leaders meant when a few months ago they held a much ballyhooed gathering addressed by no less than current Prime Minister Mahathir under the banner of Maruah Melayu (Malay Dignity)? Is this what the culture that I have been brought up in my old kampung only a couple of generations ago has degenerated into? Then amidst my gloom, a spark of hope, as in Dostoyesky’s The House of the Dead where in the depth and sea of unimaginable inhumanity of a Soviet Siberian prison, a glint of humanity–a young man crying over the death of a stranger-to-him inmate. He replied to the narrator, “He, also, had a mother.” After hearing those MACC tapes, I also was desperate to find any sliver of honesty, integrity, and dignity amidst Najib’s Malay crowd. Then, there it was! We Malays also had one with integrity and honesty. He (or she) was there all along, hovering over but unnoticed. This hero or heroine loomed large though unseen and unheard. I hope that that would remain so for I fear the consequences otherwise. This brave soul saw evil being perpetrated. He (or she) was guided by our hadith that says (approximately rendered) when you see evil being perpetrated, use your hand to stop it. Failing that or if it would be too risky, then use your tongue, meaning, voice your disapproval. And if that too is dangerous, then at least disapprove of it in your heart, though that is the path least favored by Allah. This brave soul used his (or her) hand to install the tapping device, and in so doing trapped the tongue of those evil doers.
youtube
I am assuming (or pinning my hopes) that the upright individual is a Malay. I desperately want him (or her) to be one. God help Malaysia and that soul if he or she were to be a non-Malay. Yet another sneaky pendatang trying to shame and “do in” an honest, upright Malay leader. Malays, in particular Najib, already have difficulty digesting the role of that other chubby Chinaman. Malays like me are in desperate need of that righteous figure now, even an anonymous one, upon whom we could share some sense of reflected dignity and integrity. Confirming the authenticity of those MACC tapes is an elementary forensic exercise. Meaning, those tapes are genuine. Further, no one has denied them or claimed that they were concocted by slick actors and actresses, or rather actress. There was not even a sly “Sounds like me but not me” or “taken out of context” denial. What surprised me was not the tapes’ content. That present Malay leaders are corrupt to the core and top civil servants (again mostly Malays and UMNO partisans) lack an iota of integrity are not news. You do not need those tapes to validate that. That is the saddest and most painful part for me as a merantau (expatriate) Malay to acknowledge. More revealing were the responses of the participants, or lack thereof. Most remained silent. Rosmah managed, “I have nothing to say!” Then there was the rubbish from Najib claiming that those tapes vindicated him! Note, he did not deny the contents. There is a term to describe those who have difficulty discerning fantasy from reality. The good news there is that the malady is treatable. I always knew that Najib was not terribly bright. However, I did not realize he was that stupid as to use an unsecured land line to speak to a foreign head of state on a very sensitive matter. The man also lacks dignity; his shameless groveling to the Arab Crown Prince was despicable. I wonder how many other heads of state who had communicated with Najib over the phone and discussed 1MDB would feel now? Rest assured that those tapes were only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. To those who claim the tapes’ release was sub judice, violated due process, or an invasion of privacy, it is significant that so far no one has filed a court motion or police report. The reason is obvious–the behaviors of those whose voices were recorded were so egregious and beyond the pale. I am surprised and saddened that those who complained about the propriety of the tapes’ release have not seen fit to condemn the participants in the tapes. Focus on what those tapes reveal. Does anyone approve of what they did?
Meanwhile Inspector-General of the Police (IGP) Hamid Bador was waiting passively to receive those tapes. He should have responded:  “This is serious! I am on my way to see Latheefa right away to secure those tapes.” Those who argue that the tapes should have been handed to the police first and dispense with the public release, consider the police “investigation” of the other infamous so-called semburit videotape of two consenting men frolicking in a Sandakan hotel. That dragged on and at the end, “No Further Action!” Those individuals in the MACC tapes thought they were doing the patriotic thing to protect their leader, the Hang Tuah excuse. It is this perversion of our noble values that is so destructive. That prosecutor who tipped Najib was later promoted to be MACC Chief and given a Tan Sri. There’s more. He was caught soon after holidaying abroad, probably celebrating his reward, I mean promotion, with a female other than his wife. Worse, this slimy character had the audacity to give a Friday sermon on–yup, you guessed it!–the evils of corruption! Next JAKIM would invite him to give a sermon on marital fidelity. That’s the degradation of Islam in Malaysia, but that’s another and very long chapter. Save unconditional denials, the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal should ask the Agung and his brother rulers to rescind the titles awarded to those knaves. Syed Danial should not be like IGP Hamid, menunggu arahan. I am proud that the Ruler of my state of Negri Sembilan had already rescinded 15 months ago Najib’s and Rosmah’s honorifics. There was another shocker on the Council of Rulers. Latheefa’s predecessor Shukri had apprised them twice on 1MDB and the need for immediate action. The Rulers refused. Shukri called Duzlkifli a pengkhianat (traitor). From what we know today, that term could apply to many more. In the pantheon of infamy, those MACC tapes would be with Nixon’s Watergate’s. With Nixon, it was the missing part that undid him; with Najib and his ilk, the contents. To MACC Chief Latheefa Koya, continue the good work. Give ’em hell! You already struck fear among the corrupt. Let them have more sleepless nights believing that their past conversations could also have been tapped. To that brave righteous soul who tapped Najib’s phone, my heartfelt gratitude. You are my North Star; you personify “Duty, honor, country! - Bakri Musa
- Ipohmali
Saya berada di tempat yang salah,
semalam kau kata kau ada kat rumah...
Kau kata, kau ke kondo utk berbincang. Woow... bincang apa 1.30 pagi ? Dgn geng tahi dadah pulak tu.  Kau nak buat benda salah, kau buatlah senyap-senyap... Kalau kantoi pun sebab nasib tak baik, nak buat macam mana memang kau bodoh, siapa suruh hisap dadah...? Korang wakil rakyat, pegawai menteri, kenapa bodoh sangat...? Tengah malam, korang buat parti liar, hisap pil kuda, hisap ganja, main judi, di sebuah premis milik seorang taukeh cina; itu dah kira habis bodoh dah, tapi kalau korang buat senyap-senyap, tahanlah sikit, tak ada orang tahu pun, korang orang politik, bukannya artis. Tapi, yang bangang sangat kau pasang muzik kuat-kuat tengah malam buta sampai jiran sebelah telefon polis, pasaipa...? Apa punya bangang lah korang. - mso

Setpol Dr.M mengaku
menjadi tukang kutip duit...
- wf auzdin ns

Jangan makan gaji buta...
Jangan makan gaji buta....
SEMOGA   LAGU  DENDANGAN  AHMAD  JAIS  ( Alfatihah )   'Harapan Kecewa' TIDAK  MENJADI  KENYATAAN  - Tamrin Tun Ghafar
Giving the enemy bullets...
There are concerns that it can lead to chaos. I am talking about the Chinese Organisations Congress planned for 28 December. But I’m sure Dong Zong have their reasons for wanting to hold the congress, and I’m not going to comment whether they are right or wrong in wanting to hold it. Instead, I’ll present what we know up till now. To DAP’s P. Ramasamy, the Chinese educationist group has the “legitimate and democratic” right to organise the congress. DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang said there is no basis for the fear that the congress will lead to chaos “if it is not anti-Malay or anti-Constitution”. Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, the MCA president, calls it a “gathering”. He said the gathering is about vernacular education, not race. Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad said the Malays will react in a very Malay way”. There are people who are not happy with what the PM said, but I don’t think the PM was issuing a “veiled threat”. Mahathir said there could be repercussions as the congress “will only result in Malays having their congress and talking about closing down Chinese schools and all that. You do that kind of thing, you will get reaction”. I risk being labelled a “Mahathir apologist” but I’ll say it anyway. The PM is being realistic because for every action there will be reaction. He is being real.  Well known author Nathaniel Tan writing for MalaysiaKini recently said the prime minister’s prediction “that this congress was likely to elicit an unpleasant reaction from more extremist Malay Muslim groups is likely an accurate one”. And here’s the thing. Many Malaysians, including a number of Chinese, are not keen in seeing the Chinese Organisations Congress take place this 28 December or on any other date for that matter.
Many, again including Chinese, see the congress as a protest against the introduction of three pages of Jawi lessons for standard four pupils which is “no more a big issue” although most of them agree the character of vernacular schools “should be preserved”. I am not going to comment on that either. I’ll just say this. When the Jawi issue erupted many hardline Malay groups have made demands that the government close down vernacular schools. Come to think of it even before the Jawi controversy such demands they have made. The groups have never liked vernacular schools, in particular Chinese schools, deeming them “anti-national aspirations.” Now they are repeating their call, and they are becoming more vocal and should I say “vicious”. I don’t intend to repeat what have been or are being said. Take a look at comments on social media and you’ll know what I mean. They are alleging that Dong Zong and allies are bent on creating trouble over “only three pages” of Jawi lessons. They say Dong Zong is being kurang ajar, or very rude! The sad part is that the entire Chinese community is made up to be or accused of being kurang ajar as well. The fact there are Chinese who are not supportive of any of Dong Zong’s move is conveniently forgotten. Worst still, there are Malays who have all the while been fair minded and anti-racism are taken in by the kurang ajar rhetoric. What more with Dong Zong seen as adamant in wanting to hold its congress.
In short, plan in organising the congress is aggravating matters. The hardline or extremist Malay groups are finding support from Malays who in the first place are against them. As I see it, by holding the congress Dong Zong is giving their enemies ammunition i.e. giving bullets to shoot back at not only themselves (Dong Zong) but the Chinese community as well. Now we are hearing of a leader from PAS Datuk Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali quoted by Malay Mail Online a few days ago talking on the possibility of the Seafield temple trouble, unless the Chinese organisation congress is stopped. He wants the police to act to “avoid a repeat of the 2017 riots at the Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu temple in Subang Jaya”. I’m sure many agree that the PAS leader should not have said what he said. Now even if (this is a big IF) Dong Zong has wanted to call off the congress, Khairuddin’s statement is making it hard for them lest they be accused of “kowtowing” to PAS, thus losing face. And in Chinese or rather Asian culture, losing face is a big deal. Still the interest of country must take precedence over anything else, losing face included. Anyway, perhaps Wee could give Khairuddin some sort of advice as the MCA is on talking terms with PAS via Muafakat Nasoinal although it is not a member of the pact up till now. But now there are media reports that another congress opposed to Jawi khat will be held by a group calling itself Sekat, after the Dong Zong’s congress. More bullets for Malay hardline NGOs to fire at non- Malays? - Mohsin Abdullah

Marang dulu kubu kuat Haji Hadi.. Kubu PAS.. Tapi Haji Hadi kalah kepada rahman bakarpada PRU 2004 disebabkan gelombang kepimpinan Paklah.. Akhirnya Marang dimenangi kembali pada PRU 2013... Begitu lah Tanjong Piai.. Kalau Tanjong Piai itu bukan kubu MCA.. ikut komposisi kaum cina 47 %.. dah lama BN kalah disitu.. kalau di Perak dan Selangor tahun 2008 Pakatan rakyat hatta calon PAS boleh rampas kerusi Tanjong Piai.. hakikatnya ia memang kubu MCA.. Malangnya, kesilapan terbesar PAS, menyokong MCA berhabis habisan, walaupun tindakan PAS itu tidak membawa sebarang Manfaat.. Ulama PAS sampaikan keluar dalil agama sanggup menunggang agama demi memenuhi nafsu politik kalahkan PH.. apalagi menyokong MCA..
Memang benar.. Itulah wajah PAS.. gambaran kelompok Ruwaibidhah, Takfiri dan Khawarij.. Alhamdulillah Allah zahirkan dalam PRK Tanjong Piai..- Ipohmali
Kata Pendakwaraya dalam kes Zahid.. Yayasan Akal Budi ditubuhkan tujuannya untuk program Kebajikan.. Tapi satu sen pun tak pergi kepada badan Kebajikan.. Kepda orang Msikin..Duit tu digunakan untuk Beli Motor mewah, Banglo, Dan Perbelanjaan mewah menggunakan Kad Kredit.. Bayangkan, Nama Yayasan dia Akal Budi.. Tapi jangan kata takda Budi, Akal pun takda.. Yang Sokong tu pun.. Entah mana akal budi depa.. Tapi nak buat mcm mana, PAS ada kemahiran Dalil untuk sucikan Dosa Pemimpin UMNO.. Sebab depa pun buat benda yg sama..
Kalau nak tahu.. Bagaimana Duit 1MDB mengalir duit dia kepada Ustaz Ustaz ngan Ulama'.. Mcm yang Zahid buat lah... Duit Komisen., Rasuah disucikan atas nama Badan Kebajikan.. Anak Yatim.. Duit SRC Najib cuba disucikan taja budak Tahfiz.. Majlis Selawat.. Masih ingat kes yayasan tabung Haji..Duit tabung haji RM 22 juta digunakan untuk program Kebajikan UMNO.. Ada Ulama dan Ustaz Sucikan atas nama Derma, Infaq ke Yayasan, Sekolah Tahfiz dan maahad Depa..Ada datang dengan Visa Haji dan Umrah.. Modus Operandi sama jer.. Tak heran jenis Pakai kereta Mewah pun tak kira pemimpin UMNO..Ustaz dan Ulama..Sama jer..- Ahmad Muslim Badawi

Protest votes, broken promises...
A decisive by-election victory by an opposition party in Malaysia’s southernmost Johor state should serve as a warning shot to the country’s ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, analysts say. The by-election was held on Saturday for the constituency of Tanjung Piai after the previous PH member of parliament died in September. It was the second seat that the ruling coalition has lost since taking power in 2018. Wee Jeck Seng, a member of the Malaysian Chinese Association – a component party of the now-ousted Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition which had ruled Malaysia for over six uninterrupted decades – received 25,466 out of 52,471 votes, capping a decisive victory. The party beat PH’s candidate by a 15,000 majority, thanks in part to the support of the opposition race-and-religion based United Malays National Organisation (Umno) – Malaysia’s former ruling party – and the Islamic Party of Malaysia. MCA party president Wee Ka Siong said the results would prove to be “a new game changer for MCA”, which had failed to secure the seat in 2018 national polls. “We won in all Chinese-majority district polling centres this time, compared to [the last election] when we lost in all eight. People of all races came together and sent out a strong message to the government that they are sick with its frequent U-turns, flip-flops and bad performance,” Wee was reported as saying by local media. “This is a clear message to the government to keep their promises.”
James Chin of Tasmania University’s Asia Institute said: “There was a Malay swing thanks to the Umno-PAS partnership working together to support MCA rather than fielding their own candidate”. He said that some ethnic Malays – the nation’s largest group of voters at over 60 per cent of the population – would have issued “protest” votes against Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad’s leadership. He recently visited the constituency, where he claimed the opposition had been riling up racial sentiment. Besides Malay-Muslims, Malaysia is also home to a large number of ethnic Chinese and a small percentage of ethnic Indians. Similarly, said Chin, ethnic Chinese voters in the constituency would have likely voted against PH out of “unhappiness” with that coalition’s Democratic Action Party (DAP), the component with the strongest Chinese support base. “They think DAP is not delivering on promises and becoming what MCA was like before it fell – a ‘yes man’ pandering to Malay interests. They want DAP to be more aggressive when it comes to domestic Chinese interests and take a stronger stand against Mahathir and his Malaysian United Indigenous Party, which is furiously working to win Malay support from Umno,” Chin said. As part of the previous BN government, the MCA was viewed as a “younger brother” to the Malay-dominated Umno, which had more than 20 cabinet members, compared to the MCA’s three. “It was mainly a protest vote so MCA should not be too happy,” Chin said. “But if Pakatan Harapan does not do anything then yes, this will be the start of a momentum.”
The victory in Tanjung Piai – previously won by PH on a slim 524-vote margin – will not only double MCA’s parliamentary representation in Malaysia’s 222-person lower house, but should also serve as a warning to the PH government, which has been grappling with falling public approval because of undelivered election promises. But PH has maintained that it is still undoing the damage wrought by its predecessors, led by Umno which has recently seen its top leadership on trial for corruption and abuse of power. Among them is former premier Najib Razak, who has been hit with more than 40 charges for his alleged role in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (IMDB) global corruption scandal. After the 2018 national elections – which saw PH topple BN after more than six decades of uninterrupted rule – pollsters indicated that PH had won with less than 30 per cent of the Malay vote. Since then, Malaysians have been critical of the government for the slow pace of reforms and allegedly pandering to Malay-Muslim voters through preferential policies. Such a strategy carries risk for PH, according to political scientist and academic Azmil Tayeb of Universiti Sains Malaysia. “There’s significant swing among Chinese voters toward Barisan Nasional. It shows the anger and frustration against Pakatan Harapan,” he said, adding that the government had to begin focusing on the economy as well as other reforms it had promised. “If the government doesn’t do anything different, Barisan Nasional will maintain this momentum – even if non-Malay voters sit out the election.” - scmp

Dengaq puas-puas...
- Ahmad Muslim Badawi
Sikit lagi pasai PRK Tanjung Piai...
- mso.
Tg.Piai is start of Harapan's end
or a new beginning...
Pakatan Harapan's landslide defeat in the Tanjung Piai by-election could mark the start of the coalition's end but is also a chance for a new beginning, says Johor DAP chief Liew Chin Tong.
"The devastating defeat is either going to be the beginning of the end of the Pakatan Harapan government as we know it or provide us with an opportunity to have a new beginning for the better," he told a thanksgiving dinner for DAP election volunteers in Tanjung Piai today.
"The massive losses at the Tanjung Piai by-election is a watershed moment for Malaysian politics. It is an earthquake no less.
"We humbly accepted the defeat and respect the democratic decision of the people," he added.
Liew (below) said the Harapan leadership, including the DAP, will conduct a nationwide tour to listen to the views of the grassroots to chart its future direction.
"It is my hope that the listening tour by leaders will result in some forms of a New Deal and a turnaround plan for execution in 2020 to regain public confidence," he said.
However, Liew warned against falling to Umno and PAS' racial narratives during this soul searching process.
"The danger that the Harapan government will face is that there will be views that the coalition is not viable and needs immediate replacement.
"The Umno-PAS coalition will argue that the Muafakat Nasional coalition, with MCA as partner, is a better model than the current government, playing on the antipathy among Malays against DAP. On the other end, MCA will continue to argue that DAP is a sell-out to Bersatu.
"Such racial framing is dangerous and has been proven in the Tanjung Piai by-election that we lost on both Malay and non-Malay fronts and can be broken in the middle," he said. What Harapan needs, said the senator, is to search for a common purpose.
"We must accept that the democratic uprising on May 9, 2018 means that everyone feels that they have full democratic rights to vote for anyone, and there aren’t fixed deposits for anyone. Almost everyone is a swing voter.
"We need a common Malaysian narrative to assure all ethnic groups that they are not under siege.
"The failure to put forward a coherent Malaysian narrative allows for a suddenly freed opinion world to shape public opinion along with racial frames which resulted in extraordinary anger on both the Malay and non-Malay fronts," he said.
BN, represented by MCA's Wee Jeck Seng, won by a whopping 15,086-vote majority against Harapan's Karmaine Sardini, who is from Bersatu. Wee garnered 25,466 votes to Karmaine's 10,380 votes.
Harapan only garnered slightly more than a quarter of the vote share, at 26.74 percent. BN secured 65.61 percent of the total valid votes.
Meanwhile, Gerakan's Wendy Subramaniam came in third with 1,707 votes while Berjasa’s Badhrulhisham Abd Aziz bagged 850 votes in fourth place.
Independent candidates Ang Chuan Lock and Faridah Aryani Abd Ghaffar received 380 and 32 votes respectively. There were 595 rejected votes. The final turnout was 74.5 percent. - Liew Chin Tong.
Is Muafakat Nasional
the new Barisan Nasional...
Ecstatic by the Tanjung Piai results the BN now wants Pakatan Harapan to call for fresh elections as according to opposition leader Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, the Pakatan Harapan government has “lost the people’s confidence”. People confidence or no it is obvious BN in particular Ismail ,believe the big win in Tanjung Piai will “propel ” BN back into power it lost last year in GE14 .That’s how I read his remarks to mean anyway. To PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang the Tanjung Piai by election results showed the multi racial public has accepted the political charter that Umno and PAS sealed recently known as Muafakat Nasional or MN. Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in echoing Hadi say the Tanjung Piai win “shows the people’s recognition of Muafakat Nasional . Taking the remarks made by the PAS and Umno presidents , that would mean the Chinese have accepted MN because both used the term “multi racial public’ and “people’ . So is that the situation ? I mean are the Chinese embracing MN when many of them voted for BN in Tanjung Piai ? Zahid had also said The Chinese are back with BN. If that is true no wonder Ismail is excited to say the least . But first thing first - is MN the new BN?
Political analyst Dr Sivamurugan Pandian tells me it is a political ideology platform “to start a new collaboration initiative with various platforms to strengthen BN and others including PAS”. Hence will MN replace BN ? Meaning Umno, MCA,MIC to name three sitting with PAS in MN? “ I cant see that just yet – the collaboration will remain without merging – they can work closely on certain issues but to merge will need lots of sacrifice and compromise,” say Siva . But bear in mind as stated in my previous article for this newspaper , research outfit Ilham Centre say if the Umno PAS alliance want to have a realistic chance of winning GE15 it must contest under one common logo .This can be done by PAS using the BN dacing logo . Or for a brand new coalition be formed comprising Muafakat Nasional ( Umno PAS ) together with non Malay parties like MCA and MIC as well as parties from Sabah and Sarawak . Based on Siva’s observation that is not about to happen and as rightly pointed out by Ilham Centre CEO Mohd Azlan Zainal ,the BN brand has been known for ages among the components but with it comes a heavy burden because of previous bad experience . As Azlan sees it MN is more “significant as a catalyst movement for Malay support” . As such according to Dr Oh Ei Sun, senior fellow at Singapore Institute for International Affairs, Umno and PAS “ would certainly like MN to be in essence the new BN , what with MCA, MIC and the likes to act as tokens of multiculturalism ,while masquerading their racially supremacist and religious extremism political agendas”.
Now back to the earlier question – are the Chinese embracing MN ? Based on the way they voted in Tanjung Piai. To Oh , the huge Chinese vote swing in Tanjung Piai is no doubt a resounding vote of no confidence on Pakatan Harapan’s determination and performance thus far in addressing what they perceived as “entrenched racialist and overly religious policies first propounded by the previous BN administration. However say Oh “ it would be far fetched to surmise that the vote swing is an automatic endorsement of the Chinese for Muafakat Nasional which is an intensified manifestation of the alliance between the racially supremacist Umno and religiously extremist PAS”. If I may add. Many Chinese interviewed by the media days before the Tanjung Piai poll said they had wanted “to teach Pakatan Harapan a lesson “. Many see teaching a lesson do not mean severing ties forever . Now that the Chinese have taught Pakatan Harapan a lesson can it be concluded that if Pakatan Harapan have indeed learned from their mistakes then Chinese support will come back ? I dont know if Ismail Sabri is still excited wanting fresh elections. - Mohsin Abdullah
