Interview the vampire, season two episode four. Minor spoilers kinda.
WTF??
That’s where they ended? Right when Devils Minion was getting started??
They are fucking with book fans! They KNOW we want this and they end of the episode in the middle of the fucking sentence!
I’ve never watched a show that takes cliffhangers to the level. To be fair, I don’t watch much TV anymore, but seriously seriously.
I’m both pissed and respect it at the same time.
I’ll continue this later. I got to take the day to re-regulate my emotions.

The way Armand looked at Daniel when they were alone. The moment of quiet where he just looked at Daniel with what seemed like love shining in his eyes. Episode 5 is going to hurt.

Watching iwtv season 2 episode 2 with my friend and they have a really compelling theory about Armand and Daniel:
Around minute 41, Louis gets upset with the interview and starts to describe one of daniel’s memories of proposing to his ex Alice in Paris and there are several odd thing about this dialogue.
Louis says “you felt freer to hold [Alice’s] hand in Paris. I wonder why that is?”
In the middle of Louis going after Daniel it cuts to footage of Armand in a room that appears to be a bedroom (or at least has sunny gauzy curtains). His hair is messy and he is very close to the camera speaking directly to presumably Daniel.
The first shot of this is silent and it immediately cuts back to Armand in the present moment who is looking at Daniel oddly
It cuts back to what seems to be a resurfaced memory of Daniel’s (the way it’s shot/cut is reminiscent of the 1970s flashback scene in s1). Armand in the flashback says “In middle school you stole your dad’s playboy magazines, sold them at recess.” It seems like this memory, apparently of Armand reading Daniel’s memories, is being triggered in Daniel’s mind by its similarity to what Louis is doing in the present.
Back in the present scene, Armand tries to get Louis to ease up on Daniel. Then, when Daniel says that Alice turned down his proposal, Armand first leans forward and seems about to get up and confort Daniel.
Seemingly in an effort to make Daniel feel better, says that Alice “wanted to say yes, but she didn’t trust you. You hadn’t given her a reason to.” He is again making unshaking eye contact with Daniel and seems sad. His facial expression is very similar to the beginning of the episode when Louis and him were reminiscing about their past together.
What my friend and I think this implies is that Armand and Daniel had a thing at some point and then Armand erased Daniel’s memory of it and replaced it with memories of Alice. This would explain the comment about feeling more able to hold her hand in Paris, as well as what seems to be concern for Daniel that Armand is suddenly displaying. Regardless of how accurate this is, clearly something is going on with that flashback memory of Armand- when did that happen? Also, how would Armand know how Alice felt about Daniel’s proposal?

genuinely don't understand how lestat nation is mad about that last episode. we have established.
Louis still thinks of Lestat as the one he trusts, is violently guilty and also horny about him
the final thing that makes him stop circling armand and go for it is confirmation that lestat and armand fucked. like they are clearly attracted to each other on their own merits but they are also appropriating lesbian culture.
lestat has the most magical dick in paris. probably europe. possibly the world. everyone who looks at him falls in love with him a little and no one who fucks him ever gets over it.
armand specifically isn't over it. 200 years later louis by his side he's still like that.
there is a 0% chance there isn't more to the nicki stuff. armand didn't even mention gabrielle and hannah moscovitch has already said gabby is what she's most looking forward to in season three (hard same). also if lestat did tell his creepy boyfriend kidnapping stalker he loved him as a distraction so he could run away the only thing he did wrong was not taking the boyfriend with him. he owes armand less than nothing! i love armand but if lestat wanted to slit his throat and leave him in a swamp he'd be justified in that. he doesn't, which is great for me, but that is the one person besides his dad and i guess the ghost of magnus where he can do whatever he wants forever and it's fine. unholy trinitity of bad men who were bad to him when he was vulnerable and couldn't fight back. if claudia hated him less they could talk about it. however, speaking of bad men who are bad to people. oops.

Well, that paranoia bit in Assad’s post-ep comments sounded ominous but it’s also damn hard for me to blame Armand for it right now on a purely emotional level.
It’s not just L&L’s past, or DreamStat years-long presence in itself, even coupled with Armand’s own history (not to mention the whole *waves hands* Marius and Lestat thing, but that’s a book only mess for now. Still💀) and his 18th century Lestat feels. All this is like, rational explanation enough. But.
Louis and DreamStat on that bench stabbed me in the feels with the strongest emotional hook of the episode along with Daniel struggling with his memories of Armand and Claudia’s pain. I know he didn’t see it but It makes it pretty easy for me, emotionally, to get why Armand would feel threatened even after Louis shed DreamStat, ngl.

I read someone say a "this series/movie/book destroyed my life" and I know what I'll do next
And then, when in fact, it destroyed me, I regret my actions

With all the talk about Armand vs Lestat after the finale, I’m suddenly remembering how the musical has a number where Armand is just like “~I HAAAAATE YOU, I hate you so fucking muuuuuuch, I hate eeeeeeeeverything about your stupid faaaace ~” and it dramatically ends with them kissing

"Anne Frank meets Stephen King" "Poor girl, she wasn't held enough during ritualistic murders" *casually reading the Killer part aloud*
Daniel pissed people off (for good reason) in ep5. When he isn't constantly badgering Louis on the veracity of his story, he's asking intrusive salacious questions. Okay, we get it you're a hot shot well seasoned reporter with 'journalistic integrity'- that doesn't absolve you of basic human decency to atleast try to protect your subject (in this case, Claudia) from some trashy readings of the book. It's capitalism and general human horribleness in banking off of the misery of others. Like sure, yes, Claudia's pain and cruelty will result in some fans of her methods and sexy Halloween costumes, but adding gratuitous self depiction of sexual assault by someone who could never consent? To say that to her father's face, idk to provoke Louis into giving him less of a rehearsed performance was a dick move. He has two daughters, come the fuck on. Does he think he's writing a fiction? This, for me, hits home the fact that Daniel isn't seeing Louis (as well as Claudia) as creatures capable of feeling pain, remorse, happiness, anything. In his quest to get the story out of Louis, he doesn't take into account the horror of that admission for Claudia. To him, they're all blood-sucking serial killers. He's not wrong and has had a whole ass life believing it. Lestat, Louis, Claudia, that attack after the first interview, his own regrets about his life and now his illness- make it harder for him to be impartial. He hates Louis too much for that. And Louis isn't making this any easier, taunting him at every point. They have the modern timeline so much more dynamic, like only four (five, if you count Rashid) major characters for an entire season is difficult to pull off and they're doing it. Flawlessly so.
