Chief Constable Alex Callander, of Ingersoll, has a bruise on his, abdomen as evidence of a bullet, said to have been fired at him during a furious fight in his office Wednesday, while he was questioning three men suspected of robbery. Carl Brooks, London, Ont., was held by the chief. The second man, Joseph Mitchell, who fled from the office, was arrested later at his home in London. A third man still is at large. Chief Callander said the bullet struck something in his pocket after ripping through his tunic and trousers. It inflicted only a slight bruise.
