How to live life without major regrets: 8 lessons from older Americans People in their 70s, 80s and beyond reveal their biggest regrets in the hopes the younger generation can avoid them. In my case, I make sure that everything I do is because I truly enjoy doing it. I know so many people, especially the older generation - I sell Senior Products like Medicare, Final Expense, etc - that constantly live with so many regrets. One of the most common regrets is: not working on the field that made them feel fulfilled and happy. Make sure that you evaluate your current career, your feelings about it,, it'll show you you're not alone, it's never ever too late to press the reset button and start putting Happiness on a pedestal! Hope this helps1 Your friend, @rickygadvisor . #independentagent #supplementalinsurance #finalexpense #annuities #tagallin #carrerchange #regret #noregrets (at Miami, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/B62Q7BigDQr/?igshid=8p0am0jfmaxp

Calculate How Much Life Insurance You Need
Tumblr media
Life insurance is an important part of planning for the future. In your absence, life insurance can help protect your family’s finances, allow your small business to live on and give you something to leave behind for your loved ones or a favorite charity.
Many people understand the importance of life insurance. According to LIMRA, 80% of consumers believe that most people need life insurance and as many as 132 million Americans rely on life insurance to protect their financial security. But when it comes to actually purchasing a policy, the confusion sinks in and one big question often comes to mind: how much life insurance coverage do I need?
A life insurance policy isn’t “one-size-fits-all.” Everyone has a unique financial situation, so coverage needs are just as unique. To answer this question, you’ll need to get your own personal estimate. Although meeting with your life insurance agent will give you the most accurate results, there are a few different methods you can use to get started.
One way to determine the costs you’ll leave behind is through the “DIME” method. DIME stands for:
D - Outstanding Debts I - Income Replacement M - Mortality E - Education
To get an estimate of how much coverage you will need, take some time to list out all of your expenses that fall under these four categories.
Debt Outstanding debt can be anything from outstanding student loans, to money you owe on a credit card. You also want to be sure your family can keep their home and stay there for years to come, so be sure to factor in your mortgage into your life insurance estimate. Regardless of how the debt was accumulated, you don’t want these expenses falling on the shoulders of your loved ones.
Income How will your absence affect your family’s finances? Income replacement calculates just that—the amount of coverage your loved ones would need to continue living a similar lifestyle. Consider day-to-day living costs, as well as other types of spending, like childcare. And keep in mind that inflation will likely cause costs to increase. Don’t forget to factor in income that comes from any investments, in addition to the income that comes from your job.
Mortality The mortality portion of “DIME” covers all final expenses, including funeral costs and other expenditures associated with end-of-life. When estimating final expenses, you may want to leave a little wiggle room for costs that you may not anticipate or be able to determine an exact number for, such as unpaid medical bills. There are also many costs and taxes that come along with settling your estate, so keep that in mind as well.
Education If you have children who are in or are planning on going to college, or even a spouse who may want to go back to school, consider the costs of their education when estimating your life insurance policy.
Once you add up all of these expenses, you may end up with a pretty big amount. However, there are a few items that you can subtract from this number, such as the amount of coverage on a group life insurance policy, funds from your retirement plan or any other savings you’ve accumulated.
In addition to the DIME exercise, there are many online tools you can use to help you estimate your needs. For instance, Life Happens provides a nifty online calculator for estimating these costs. Enter all of your information in the form, and click on the question marks next to each form field for additional tips and information. Once you’ve filled in all of the fields, Life Happens will instantly estimate how much life insurance you need.
While the DIME method and Life Happens’ calculator are helpful tools, they cannot replace the knowledgeable insight and helpful advice of an independent insurance agent. At Katzbach Insurance we will speak with you about all aspects of your life, and work with you to find the right amount of coverage for your specific needs.

Comparing Final Expense Insurance Policies
The burial insurance, known as final expense insurance, the market is set to increase by 3.6% by 2030.
This shows that more people are becoming concerned with having their end-of-life insurance in place. Then, the process can become less stressful for family members who are left behind.
Burial insurance covers funeral arrangements, burial expenses, and associated medical bills. Are you covered for final expense life insurance?
If not, we’re here to tell you about the different insurance policies you can take. That way, you can choose the one that’s right for you.
Read on to learn more.
Types of Final Expenses Life Insurance
There are four main types of burial insurance that you can take out. Here we’ll tell you what they are and explain them to you. These include:
No waiting period insurance
Simplified issue insurance
Guaranteed issue insurance
Pre-need insurance
No Waiting Period Insurance
You can get your final expenses paid outright with zero waiting time. However, you don’t have to use it immediately, and it’s down to you when you want to spend it on your funeral costs.
No waiting period insurance is given, with no medical bills, costs, or physical assessments needing to be carried out.
Simplified Issue Insurance
Health gets examined based on your medical history. Are you a smoker? Do you have any health-related issues?
These are taken into account and may affect the cost of your insurance. In fact, you may even receive a complete refusal depending on your circumstances.
Guaranteed Issue Insurance
No medical tests are needed here. But it comes with a risk and can drive up the payment for your insurance. Also, you can’t touch the full death benefit for your life insurance final expenses until you’ve reached a specific time limit, generally between two and a half years.
If you do happen to die and no health-related issues are present before this time, your beneficiaries will only receive a partial cut of the payment. However, full payment is generally provided when death is due to an accident.
Pre-Need Insurance
You need an agreement in place here with your funeral provider. This includes particular products and services you’ve got with your provider.
The payout goes directly to you rather than any heirs or beneficiaries with whom you’ve contracted.
Book Us for Your Final Expense Insurance Today
Final expense insurance is needed so your family can be duly paid in case you pass away. These costs are then put towards funeral and burial expenses. Here, we’ve looked at the four main types of burial insurance available.
No waiting period insurance may be the best choice due to the benefits of not waiting for your payment, which can place added anxiety on you when your family member passes away.
You shouldn’t wait any longer and get on board with us today for your final expense insurance. Get in touch with us, and we’ll get you sorted with your insurance immediately.

Social Isolation
Our older generation, they've seen a lot and lived through many experiences and changes.
Although now taking life a little slower, they still shouldn't have to spend it alone.
Becoming lonely can be a very common problem at any age, however the possibility of loneliness is higher within the elderly, leading to social isolation.
1 in 3 over 65's have experienced bereavement of a partner, resulting in living alone.
At Lapis Care, we encourage people to be independent for as long as they possible can, this also includes high encouragement to continue to persue hobbies and interests that people enjoy or ensuring quality time is spent with others.
We can share with experience that these things will and do increase people moral and happiness, which enriches their lives.
There are many circumstances that can impact social isolation and also barriers we need to overcome.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As part of Lapis Cares' Enrichment Initiative (and because its feel good Friday!) We have been meeting with clients, especially throughout this pandemic, that have not been able to get out recently and who are missing their usual social outings, including our 'Young at Heart' day service.
Our staff have been dedicating time with these clients to ensure they are still getting the social interaction they need. This has included, shopping trips, playing cards, doing crafts, gardening and even trips out.
This is a lovely photo taken last week, one of our clients enjoying a day out at the seaside!
Tumblr media
Please reach out to friends, family and neighbours if you know they are living alone or not seeing many people, especially at this time. It is an opportunity to reach out and let them know they are not alone. Even a conversation can change someone's day.
