when I was 19 in 2019 I got these Vibes about 2023, it wouldn't be good or bad it would just be a Significant year
2020 was so bad that 2021 could only be better, it started good and then I got paranoid that 2022 was gonna be bad in comparison, so I mentally prepared myself for 2022 months in advance
then by the summer 2021 suddenly became worse than all of 2020 combined, but it improved by about september
bc of the mentally preparing myself months before, 2022 was amazing, but bc it started so good I got the feeling that it wouldn't end well
the last 4 months were pretty bad, and then came 2023
I got many different vibes for it over the past 4 years, but one of the main things was that there'd been a pattern going since 2015
2015: extremely good
2016: extremely bad
2017: average
2018: pretty decent
2019: extremely good
2020: extremely bad
2021: average
2022: pretty decent
so 2023 was expected to be really good? but also it had to get up from 2022's bad ending so the goodness was gradual
my brain is prepared for a good last 4 months to compare to 2022's bad last 4 months
but also following the pattern, 2024 should be extremely bad, and once I've got the thought in my head that a year will be bad, there's no going back. which would explain the extremely bad year following an extremely good year
2015 and 2019 were unreal, which meant 2016 and 2020 would've looked bad in comparison no matter what, so they just completely gave up and decided to be awful
but anyway it's 'getting paranoid about next year' season, also I can never escape the patterns of time etc etc
#in 5 days it's the 10th anniversary of the beginning of my memory and dates obsession. which is fun#oh time thoughts why must you run my life#why must you keep constant surveillance on my thoughts and if i think the wrong thing then something disastrous will happen#fun fun times 👍#also like *19yo thoughts voice* ''something very bad will happen in 2020''#*19yo thoughts voice* ''2023 will be a significant year'' and then me paranoidly thinking what could be That significant that i'm getting#info about it now? oh my god someone's gonna die#and then by 2023 someone died#bc i reblogged that post saying 'reblog to get good news in late march'#which meant i left the thoughts unsupervised by late march bc i thought i was protected by that post#then my friend and his toxic girlfriend had a massive fight and i was like 'oh my god they're gonna break up this must be the good news'#then they stayed together and my sister's friend died instead#as if the time patterns were reminding me never to let my thoughts relax like that again#i need to always remember every memory and make sure i don't accidentally control the future again#i know realistically i don't control the future and i didn't cause my sister's friend to die and i didn't cause the pandemic#and i know my brain is very irrational#but still#this happens way too much and idk i just don't want something really bad to happen in 2024#hopefully it'll do a weird swapover like with 2017/18#bc before that odd number years were good and even number years were bad starting in 2014#or like odd number years would start bad but end good and the even number years would be the other way round#but 2017 stayed neutral throughout and then 2018 started bad ended good#then until 2021 the pattern was swapped#2021 was weird bc it started and ended good but was horrendous in the middle#no other year has ever done that#so yeah 2024 could do something weird and swap with another year idk#but i'll have to see#ramble

Harrison Ford: 2020 summary
A year like no other, as you must have heard countless times. The pandemic changed almost everybody´s life on this planet and Harrison wasn´t an exception. Our lil´ bean is strong and healthy but also has to be safe at home, so this year didn´t deliver many news about Harrison. Still, we had a new Harrison movie, The Call of the Wild, released in February, and a few other events before the lockdown. 2020 was also marked by the death of 3 former Harrison´s costars: Chadwick Boseman, Sean Connery and David Prowse. May all of them rest on peace on Heaven.
A new year begins, and we all wish Harrison (and everyone by the way) a productive, happy and healthy 2021. Stay safe!

Disney Reportedly Wants Harrison Ford For Indiana Jones Streaming Show
Thankfully, then, it seems that the fifth (Indiana Jones) outing may not be the last we see of the actor in the role, as insider Daniel Richtman claims that Disney wants Ford to appear in a series that’s being developed for their streaming service. Further details are unclear and the tipster doesn’t say if it’s an all-new show or a reboot of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, but as one of the Mouse House’s most valuable assets, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they wanted to continue mining the property once Indiana Jones 5 wraps up the big screen stories for good.
Thanks everyone! Hopefully in 2021 the pandemic will fade and the world will return to normalcy. Luckily the production of Indiana Jones V will start this spring, as well as other Harrison projects such the tv show The Staircase and the movie starring with Ed Elms. Fingers crossed for a year full of (good) news about Harrison. Have a happy and safe 2021.

The Set Up - Harry Styles One Shot (Part 6)
Tumblr media
Part 1    Part 2    Part 3     Part 4   Part 5
**
The 10th anniversary issue of The Mixtape was now on newsstands and the response from your loyal readers as been amazing. Everyone was taking to social media talking about it and adding their favorite memories. Things in the office were a bit slower now, but there was still plenty of work to do. Booking artists for interviews and covers, pitching article ideas, and new themed issues.
Your relationship was still in the honeymoon phase, but you knew at some point soon that would most likely fade away. Especially since he was starting tour in less than a week. You two still had yet to have a conversation about what it would entail in regards to your relationship. Would there be rules or expectations for one another? Would there be days that go where you two wouldn’t speak? How would you handle a disagreement?
There was so much unknown information that you were a little worried. You had already wrote down every single tour date in your calendar, trying to match up with your own schedule so that you could fly out for a week at a time. You also made sure to note any of his off weeks, so that you didn’t overbook yourself for when he was home.
Mentally, you are prepared to work as hard and as much as you could while he was gone, so that you were able to take off when you needed it. Of course, you knew that you couldn’t work yourself to death, but the motivation was there. You were at the office, going through a hoard of emails when your boyfriend poked his head in the office, holding two cups of coffee and a muffin.
“Hey,” You smiled getting up from your desk. “What are doing here?”
“Just thought I’d pop in and see my girl,” he smiled. “And bring her a little something.”
“I was just about to grab a refill, so thank you,” you smiled taking one of the cups from him.
“I figured,” he smiled putting his hand on your waist.
You smiled giving him a quick kiss, “So, what’s on your agenda today?”
“I’m having lunch with my sister,” he said leaning against your desk.
“Oh, that’ll be fun,” you said sipping your coffee.
“Yeah, I try to spend a little bit more time with her before tour, since it’ll be a while till I’m able to see her,” he said. “She doesn’t come out on tour much anymore.”
“Hm, that’s nice,” you smiled. “I remember her taking about it being weird for her, not always getting to talk or see you.”
He nodded, “Sometimes the time differences get in the way or our schedules. We at least will text here and there. In fact, sometimes we talk more while I’m tour than when I’m not,” he laughed.
You nodded, “Interesting.”
“Hey, but don’t worry,” he said. “That won’t happen with us. Don’t tell Gem, but I’d much rather talk to you, over her,” he winked.
You laughed, “I will definitely not tell her that or she’ll kick your ass.”
“That she would,” he laughed. “Oh, there is another reason, I stopped by because I talked to my Mum this morning and she wants me to come stay with her for a few days. I usually do that as well before tour, sometimes she comes here and stays with me or Gem, others I go up there. She also wanted me to invite you.”
“Oh, I’d love to go,” you smiled. “But only if you want me to go. I don’t want to impose on a mother son time.”
“You won’t be, besides I feel like she’d be happier spending time with you than me,” he laughed.
“Just let me know the dates and I’ll make sure everything’s good to go here,” you said.
“Will do,” he smiled. “Oh, one more thing and I’ll let you get back to work.”
“Yes?” You giggled.
“Stay over tonight?” He asked. “I missed having my favorite breakfast this morning.”
You looked at him confusion on your face, causing him to laugh, “You, baby,” he smirked.
“Behave!” You laughed.
“It’s true though,” he said. “I have to get it while I can before I have to go without it.”
“Well, when you put it that way,” you smirked wrapping your arms around his shoulder, “I’ll be at your place as soon as I’m finished here.. and who says we have to wait until breakfast.”
“I love the way you think,” he smirked pressing his lips against yours.
**
Harry left your office and headed straight to where he was meeting his sister. His mind was already thinking what would be taking place that nigh once you arrived at his home and he knew he needed to put that on the back burner before lunch with his sister. So, instead he thought about how your face at looked when he mentioned the tour and lack of communication with his family.
Looking back, he probably shouldn’t have said what he did because while you were trying to hide it he could tell it bothered you. He really need to talk to you about what to expect on tour, but every tour was different, every relationship was different. To be fair, he hadn’t had many experiences with relationships on tour and they all obviously didn’t end well. In the past, he either didn’t have a super serious relationship with someone while on tour or he just didn’t even bother.
That was mostly the younger side of him, still getting used to both the new found limelight and hectic schedule both on and off tour. But he really wanted this relationship to work with you. Going into it, he knew it was mostly a bad idea to pursue anything knowing he was leaving in a few months time, but he couldn’t help it. There was a undeniable connection he felt with you, even if in the beginning he tried to deny it. He could have at easily said he didn’t want it to become serious until he came back, but that wasn’t fair to you or to him.
While he knew he should discuss the tour with you, he was going to keep it to himself a little bit longer. Yes, it was like the pot calling the kettle black because he had been upset with you not telling him about The Mixtape party, but this was different. He was afraid if he told you everything that could go wrong or how hard it could be, that you would freak out and end it before it even began.
However, would that actually be for the best? Would laying it all out there in the beginning, letting you make the choice of sticking it out or walking away, help prevent him from getting his heartbroken yet again? Sure, it would fucking suck, losing you now, but at least it would be before he had fallen head over heels in love with you.
Which, honestly, wouldn’t be too long now. It was crazy to think that way, he knew it. You two were still in the honeymoon phase, so it was mostly infatuation still, but he could honestly say he never felt what he was feeling with anyone else. Even people he dated long term. Maybe it was because you knew his family or maybe it was because you two were “made” for each other.
He didn’t necessarily believe in love at first sight or soulmates, but he did believe that there was someone who fit in your missing piece. Someone who made you feel complete, who standing next to him for years to come, and he could see you as that person. Now, that his mind was a little more clearer he headed into the restaurant grabbing a table for two.
“You’re late,” Harry smirked when his sister finally arrived.
“By two bloody minutes,” she rolled her eyes. “I can count on both hands and  foot how many times you’ve been late.”
“I believe that’s a bit of an exaggeration,” he said.
“Except it’s not,” she laughed.
“Anyway, I ordered us drinks,” he said.
“Drinks, or drinks,” she smirked.
“The former,” he said. “No one needs you drunk at eleven am.”
She rolled her eyes shaking her head, “Now, let’s get down business.”
“Let me guess, you’re going to grill me about Y/N this entire time, right?” He sighed dramatically.
“Yeah, I am,” she said. “Neither of you have given me any information! I know you two are seeing each other and you were all lovey fucking dovey at The Mixtape party the other night, so just fucking tell me already.”
“Tell you what?” He smirked. “That we’re fucking?”
“Ew! What? No, I do not need to know that,” she said. “If it was Y/N and anyone else, I’d be all for the details, but not when it’s with my baby brother.”
He laughed shaking his head, “Um, so does this mean she’s talked to you about details of her sexual past before?”
“Yeah, I’m not going there,” she said.
“What? It’s a question. I’m not asking for details. I’d rather not know them, actually,” he said. “I just want to know if you two did talk about that before...”
“Yes, I mean it’s not like we sit down and have a formal tea and chat about it, but it’s been mentioned before usually when drinks involved,” she said.
“Hmpf,” he mumbled.
“Don’t be doing that,” she said.
“Doing what?” He asked all innocently.
“Getting jealous over past relationships,” she said. “It’s not like she’s the only person you’ve shagged either, yet you don’t see her trying to get information.”
“Whatever. I’m not getting jealous, one, and two, I’m not asking for information, I was just asking a simple question,” he said.
“Yeah, and denial is just a big fat river in Egypt,” she rolled her eyes.
“No, by The Nile River is,” he smirked.
“For fuck’s sake, just answer my previous question,” she groaned. “Are you and Y/N together yet?”
“If you’re asking whether she’s my girlfriend, then yes, the answer is yes,” he said.
“Yes! I fucking knew it,” she smirked. “When you two get married, please be sure to thank me. I take cash, checks, gift cards.”
He rolled his eyes, “Shouldn’t you just be happy that both your best friend and brother are happy?”
“Oh, I am. Extremely happy, but I can also be ecstatic that once again I was right,” she smirked.
Harry laughed taking a bite of his just delivered food.
“So, tour,” Gemma said after a bit. “How are you feeling about that?”
“Excited, nervous, the usual feelings,” he said.
“How Y/N’s feeling about the tour?” she asked.
“Um, I don’t really know her exact feelings,” he said. “We’ve not talked about it.”
Gemma sighed looking at him, “You leave next week.”
“I know, I know,” he sighed. “It just hasn’t really come up.”
“Because you haven’t brought it up,” Gemma said. “You need to talk to her about it, ASAP.”
“Why are you so adamant about this?” Harry asked. “Did she say something?”
“Look, I’m not going to get in between the two of you, I promised her I wouldn’t, but I will say this,” she said. “Just talk to her, please. Reassure her that things will be okay and that you two will work things out if they don't.”
“Is she worried it’s not going to work out?” He asked. “Gem, you can’t just tell me this shit half ass, please tell me.”
“Fuck me,” she groaned. “Before the two of you became official, she was a little hesitant on some things when it came to do the tour. She didn’t know how you felt about getting in or having a relationship on tour. She also may have asked about your other relationships and I might have told her there weren’t many to begin with and that the ones that were, there were problems.”
“Bloody hell, Gemma, why would you tell her that?” He sighed.
“Because it’s the truth, which she should have heard for you,” she pointed out. “So, that’s why I’m telling you to just sit down and have an honest conversation with her.”
He sighed sitting back in his seat, “Yeah, I’ll talk to her.”
**
Harry stared at the food in the skillet as it cooked, his mind wandering off to his talk with his sister. Ever since he left lunch with her, his mind raced with all sorts of thoughts. What if you were second guessing being with him and his fear of you walking out was bound to happen? He also wondered what else you talked to his sister about. He knew she would never break your trust, even if she slightly did during lunch, but if it was anything bigger, he knew she would never spill.
He understood why and he would never intentionally ask or invade your privacy like that, but it still didn’t make the possibilities of conversations lead his mind. He heard the buzzer at the gate, signaling that you had arrived. He had given you the guest code, so you were able to get in, but it still alerted him when someone had arrived. He was thankful for that in that moment because it gave him time to try and clear his mind and put on a front that everything was okay until he had to bring up the topic of conversation.
The doorbell rang, “It’s open!” He shouted from the kitchen.
A few seconds later, the front door opens and he could instantly smell your perfume. He smiled a bit knowing you were there, but deep down there was a feeling in his gut.
“Hey, baby,” you smiled walking into the kitchen. “Dinner is smelling amazing.”
“Thank you,” he smiled. “It should be ready in a bit.”
You smiled wrapping your arms around his waist and given him a kiss, “Hm, how was lunch with Gem?”
“Well, our conversation was centered around you,” he said.
“Ah, so I take you finally told her we’re together?” You asked.
“I did,” he said. “She told me we better thank her if we ever get married,” he laughed.
“She would,” you laughed.
“How was the rest of your day?” He asked. “Everything good at the office?”
“Well, everyone was certainly in good moods thanks to the hoards of coffee, bagels, and muffins, my boyfriend dropped off today,” you laughed.
“Happy everyone enjoyed it,” he smiled.
You kissed his cheek, “Do you need any help?”
“No, I’m good,” he said.
“Okay, then I’m going to go freshen up and change, I’ve had enough of these tight ass for the day,” you laughed.
He smirked, “Your ass definitely looks good in them though.”
You laughed, “I’ll be right back.”
He nodded giving you one more kiss before letting you go and head into the bedroom. He sighed, taking a deep breath before putting the food onto plates and taking it over to the table. Less than five minutes went by when you returned wearing leggings and an old concert t-shirt.
“Just in time,” you smiled sitting down.
“Want some wine?” He asked.
“Actually, I think I’m just going to have some water,” you said.
He nodded bringing over a glass of water before joining you at the table.
Dinner was usually quiet only the sounds of forks clinging and glasses being placed on the table. You could tell something was off and you wondered what had happened between this morning and now. The only thing would be his lunch with Gemma and with him saying they talked about you.
“You know despite Gemma’s previous warning, you aren’t that terrible of a cook,” you smirked looking over at him.
He playfully glared at you with a laugh, but you could tell it was forced. When both of you were finished, you took your plate into the kitchen, “I’ll clean up,” you smiled.
“You don’t-” he said.
“No, I don’t, but I want to,” you smiled. “Then I’ll meet you over on the couch.”
“Okay,” he nodded.
After you finished cleaning up the kitchen, you poured yourself a glass of wine before going over to the couch where Harry was sitting.
“So, you want to tell me what’s bothering you?” You asked turning to face him.
“What do you mean?” He asked sipping his wine.
“You know what I mean,” you said. “You’re acting different, standoffish a little. You barely said anything during dinner and now you won’t even look at me. Did I do something?”
He sighed putting the glass of wine on the coffee table, “I want you to be honest with me, did you think about not pursing a relationship with because of me going on tour?”
“Gemma?” you sighed.
“Don’t-Don’t be upset with her, she didn’t really say those exact words, but I sort of got the feeling that’s where she was going,” he said.
You sighed, “I didn’t say those exact words either,” you said. “We had this conversation before we even got together. It was while you were New York, she asked me how things were going and if I saw us going somewhere. I told her, I didn’t know because I didn’t know if you even wanted it to go somewhere because you would be going on tour.”
“Why would you think that?” He asked.
“I don’t know, I don’t know how that works,” you said. “I mean, maybe you don’t like having to worry about having someone back at home, having to make time to call them or something...”
“What do you mean not worry about having someone back at home?” He asked. “What do you think I fuck around or something?”
“What? No, I don’t-” you said.
“Then what?” He said. “It makes no fucking sense on why you would think I would’t want a girlfriend just because I’m going on tour.”
“Well, in case you forgot, you said it yourself just this morning, that you even have a hard time staying in touch with your family,” you said. “So, it does make sense that I would think you wouldn’t want another person to add to that list.”
“Touring is part of my life, Y/N,” he said. “If I thought that way, then I’d never have a girlfriend, or ever get married unless I quit that part of my life and I don’t ever see myself doing that. Not until I’m dead or people stop coming to my shows, which ever happens first.”
“We had just met, Harry, we had only been on one date and had a few phone conversations,” you said. “How was I supposed to know any of that? I didn’t even know what was going to come of us anyway.”
“Oh, so you didn’t think we’d get together? Why?” He asked.
“Damnit, Harry,” you sighed. “Did you? Listen to yourself, this conversation with Gemma happened months ago. And for the record, you’re worried about that conversation, yet you’ve done nothing in the present to set my mind at ease about you going on tour and what that means for us.”
“What are you worried about?” He asked. “Why are you freaking out about it?”
“Because my boyfriend is about to leave for months on end and I don’t know how often I’ll get to see him or talk to him,” you said. “And that maybe, just maybe, since I won’t be around, he’ll forget about me and all of this will have been for nothing.”
“How can you think that?” He asked. “I don’t know what you’ve experienced before in your past relationships, but I’m not some sort of fucking out of sight, out of mind person. If I’m with you, you’re all I’m thinking about. I don’t care if it’ll be two days or two fucking months since seeing or speaking with you, I will still be thinking about you.”
“You say that now,” you said. “But you don’t know how you’ll feel two months from now.”
He shook his head, “If anyone should be worried about it’s me,” he said. “How do I know that you won’t be the one looking for something else with me gone, huh? You could easily meet someone here, who would sweep you off your feet, someone who could be at your beck and call all the fucking time and not thousands of miles away. So, if there should be anyone worried about being in  relationship while I’m tour, it’s me.”
“Oh, so now you think I’m going to be the one who fucks around on you?” You asked.
Harry didn’t say anything, but his silence said enough.
“Wow,” you laughed darkly. “Never once did I think you would actually cheat on me because I trust you, but apparently you don’t trust me. So, you know what, I’m just going to leave and go back to my flat, while you figure you own shit out, but just know, I refuse to be with someone who doesn’t trust me.”
Harry sighed, not saying anything, as your grabbed your bag to leave. You paused at the door, hoping he would say something, but he didn’t, so you walked away.
And he let you.
**
The next morning you were pissed, beyond pissed, so you got up first thing to head into the gym. Your trainer was there waiting for you with a punching bag and your gloves. You had waited up most of the night, wondering if Harry would call you to talk things over, but not even a single text message was sent your way.
“Rough night?” He asked while he taped up your hand and wrist.
“Didn’t get much sleep,” you sighed.
“So, that’s why I received a text at two in the morning,” he laughed.
“Yep, thought I might need to punch some shit around,” you said.
“That’s what I’m here for,” he smirked. “Just don’t mess up the money maker.”
“I’d never,” you joked. “On purpose, at least.”
Over an hour later, you were drenched with sweat and your muscles were on fire.
“Bloody hell, who pissed you off,” he said shaking his head.
You sighed chugging down some water, ignoring his question.
“Let me guess, boy troubles?” He asked.
“How’d you know?” You said sitting next to him, wiping your face down with a towel.
“I’ve had my share of ‘em,” he laughed.
“I bet,” you laughed.
“So, want to share?” He asked.
“Let’s just say we’re experiencing our first fight,” you said.
“Ah, the honeymoon phase is over,” he said.
“I wouldn’t say completely over, just paused at the moment,” you said.
“Well, punching the shit out of a bag and my hands, will help a bit,” he said. “But you know what actually will help.”
“Sitting around a campfire and talking our shit out?” You scoffed.
“Yes,” he laughed. “And then makeup sex, lots and lots of makeup sex.”
“I take it you’ve had a fair share of that, too,” you smirked.
“Yep,” he grinned.
“I better get going,” you said. “I need to shower, change, and get to the office.”
“And call the boyfriend,” he asked.
“At some point,” you said.
**
Harry knew he fucked up as soon as you saw you walking out of the door. He knew he should have went after you, brought you back inside, and talked all that shit through. But he didn’t. He knew he should have called you, even texted you, to make sure you got home okay, but he didn’t. He tossed and turned in his bed all night. Your perfume still lingered in the air.
Once the sun lit through his bedroom room, he decided to just get out of bed. He put on some jogger pants, his trainers, and a hoodie before making his way into the kitchen to make himself some coffee. He looked at his phone wondering if you had sent him anything, but there was nothing. Not that he blamed you.
He needed to make this right, if there was ever a chance the two of you to come out of this still together. But first, he needed to clear his mind and to do that he needed to run. He put on some music, grabbed his keys, and headed out. Usually, he just ran a few times throughout his neighborhood, staying close, but that day he ended up running further and further away until he was standing outside of your office building.
It wasn’t entirely too far from his house, but further than he had run one way before. He saw you from the other side of the street, walking up the street, and into the building. He fought the urge to walk over to you for two reasons. He knew talking about last night at your job was not good for either one of you and two because he really wished he could kiss you and make it better.
After realizing he wasn’t going to actually do anything there, he decided to turn around and head back to his house. When he arrived back, he was dripping with sweat, after downing an entire glass and a half of water, he headed up to take a shower. He leaned his hands against the wall as he let the water rush over him. His mind wander to you and the situation again.
He still didn’t know how to make this right, but he knew someone who could help him figure it out.
By that afternoon, Harry had driven to his mother’s house, a few days earlier than planned. He hadn’t told her much, just that he wanted to be there a few days ahead of time. When she had mentioned you, he simply said it was because you couldn’t get off work, which technically wasn’t a lie.
When he arrived, he brought his bags into his room, before meeting his mother in the backyard for some snacks. Harry grabbed some cookies to nibble on while his mother looked over at him.
“What happened?” she said.
“What? Can’t a loving son come and visit his mother without there being anything wrong?” He asked
“Normally, yes,” she said. “But you can’t hide anything from me. I can see it in your eyes that something’s up. Did something happen between you and Y/N?”
He sighed, “We had our first fight last night.”
“I can’t say that I didn’t see that coming,” she sighed.
“Oh, but you and Gemma were just so sure we’re meant to be,” he rolled his eyes.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” she said. “I meant that the honeymoon, fairy tale love phase doesn’t last forever. All relationships have shit they go though, it’s what makes them grow. You don’t have to tell me what happened in detail if you don’t want to, but I will say the one way this works out for you two is if you talk through it. The way you handle a fight or an argument is what will make or break your relationship.”
“So, you’re saying coming up here was a mistake?” He asked.
“No, I’m not,” she said. “What I am saying, is you should call Gemma and have her bring Y/N up, so you two can talk it out.”
He sighed nodding.
“Now, do it,” she said.
“Yes, Mum,” he said.
**
Everything happened so fast, you don’t even remember how you got in the car and was on your way up to Anne’s house. All you remember is Gemma calling and telling you to back a bag. Gemma could be very scary and persuasive when she wanted something. You figured it had to with what was going o between you and Harry and while you thought it should stay between the two of you, you knew she wouldn’t know anything about it unless Harry had told her.
At least he was talking to someone about it. What you didn’t see coming was that she was driving you up to Anne’s house, which Anne knew something was up. You didn’t know how this would work between you and Harry if you needed other people to help you work out your shit, especially when it was your first fight. During the drive, neither your or Gemma really said anything.
It felt awkward, but you really didn’t know what to say. You couldn’t exactly blame Gemma for what happened, but part of it was a little bit her fault. When you arrived at Anne’s house, you felt nervous, not sure what you were walking into. Either you would be able to work things out and move on, or things would be over before they even really started. And you knew you wouldn’t be able to handle the latter, especially when your only way back home was either with Gemma or Harry.
Harry’s legs bounced up and down in anticipation as he waited for you to arrive. He wasn’t even sure how it happened, but Gemma was able to get you to come with her. He wasn’t sure how this was going to go or how you would respond to having to sort everything out at his mother’s house. God, he felt like a stupid, immature child, running to his mother’s house.
What if you thought the same way, but surely if you did, you wouldn’t have agreed to come. He heard a car pulling up in the driveway and he knew it was you. Anne had already said she and Gemma would leave for a few hours, so that you two could work this through without an audience. He just hoped that things would get worked out.
The backdoor opened and he turned around seeing you standing there.
“Hey,” he whispered.
“Hi,” you whispered back.
“Um, do you want to have a seat? Want some water or something?” He asked.
You shook your head, “I want to know why I’m here.”
“Because you and I both know we need to talk about what happened last night,” he said.
“And we couldn't have done that in London?” You said. “Or last night? You know instead of just letting me walk out, you had to drive up here and then have your sister bring me up here? What the fuck, Harry!”
“I know! I know, okay, I fucked up,” he said. “Both last night and doing all this, but I just... I needed some time to think and I came up here to see my Mum, since I was already coming up soon anyway. We talked a bit and then I asked Gem if she could get you up here because I figured you wouldn’t come on your own.”
“That’s pretty fucked up you know,” you snapped. “And the fact that you could talk to other people about last night, but not me, how do you think that makes me feel especially after you accused me of being the one to fuck up the relationship.”
“I didn’t fucking say that!” He snapped back.
“Yeah, well maybe not in those words exactly, but the imply was fucking there,” you said.
“For fuck’s sake, I’m trying to make this better between us,” he shouted.
“Well, shit isn’t going to get better unless we actually talk shit through!” You shouted.
“Fine! Fine, if we’re going to talk, can we just stop yelling for five damn minutes!” He sighed.
“Fine,” you said.
“Good,” he responded.
Both of you stood there trying to calm down for a bit. Harry ran his hand through his hair before looking back over at you.
“Look, I’m sorry,” he said. “for everything, I know that’s not going to make everything go away, but-”
“It’s a start,” you sighed.
“I know,” he nodded.
“Did you really mean it?” You asked. “Do you really think I would just forget about you and find someone else?”
“It wouldn’t be the first time,” he sighed.
You sighed walking closer to him placing your hand on his shoulder. The closer you got, you could see the hurt, worry, and tears in his eyes.
“I like you,” you whispered. “A lot.. hell, more than I’ve probably liked anyone, this fast before. When I’m with you, I’m happy. You make me laugh, you make me smile, you make me feel stupid butterflies in my stomach. There is no one else that could ever make me feel like that and even if there was, I wouldn’t want them. I only want you.”
“You say that now,” he whispered.
“Yeah, I do,” you said. “And I’m going to say that tomorrow and the next day and probably in the next two months and beyond that. Neither of us know what’s going to happen the future, that’s why we have to trust one another and communicate with each other, we’ll be set.”
He put his hands on your face, looking into your eyes, “I know I overreacted, but I just... the thought of losing you scares the shit out of me. I’ve never felt this way about anyone and I don’t want to lose how I feel whenever I’m around you or think about you.”
“You’re not going to lose me,” you whispered. “Not unless you keep saying stupid shit,” you laughed a bit.
He laughed a smile tugging at his lips before placing his forehead against yours, “And you’re not going to lose me, either. I’m not going to forget about you, I could never,” he whispered.
“Well, I am pretty rememberable,” you smirked.
He laughed, “A little bit, yeah.”
“I think we both know it’s more than a little bit,” you smirked.
“Does this mean we’re okay?” He whispered pushing hair away from your face.
“It means we’re going to be okay,” you whispered. “I can’t just get over it and I don’t expect you to either, but this is a start that we need to get over it.”
He nodded, “I’m sorry I made you come up here... If you want to go back to London, I’ll pay for you to go back.”
“No, it’s okay,” you said. “I don’t mind staying unless you don’t want me too.”
“I want you to stay,” he smiled.
You nodded, “So, um... Gem said her and your mum were leaving for a few hours,” you said.
“Yeah, Mum wanted to give us space to talk it out,” he said.
“Well, we’ve only used about an hour and half for this conversation... so I’d assume they won’t be back for at least another hour or so, right?” You smirked.
“I’d assume you’re right,” he said. “Where are you going with this?” He laughed.
“Why don’t you take me up to the bedroom and find out,” you smirked.
“Are you sure?” He asked. “We don’t-”
“Oh, well, I mean... if you’re not hungry, we can just sit on the couch, watch netflix or something,” you said innocently.
“Fuck that,” he laughed picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder.
“What are you doing?” You laughed holding onto his shirt. “I could have walked.”
“Just getting you used to this mode of transportation ,” he smirked. “Because you won’t be able to walk by the time we’re finished.”
“That a promise?” You smirked.
“Oh, I always keep my promises, babe,” he said.
And with that you both went up to his the bedroom, where he fact, kept his promise, which would eventually make for an awkward family dinner later that night.
**
Sooo... I’m thinking the next part will be the set up for him going on tour and then maybe having a second serious of them dealing with being on tour together... what do y’all think?

This anniversary, I wanted to pay tribute to the show by redrawing my favorite SDCC poster. With a few changes. It’s been 3 years since this poster came out on the internet, but it’s the poster for the first SDCC I experienced in this fandom. Below the cut is me being sentimental because I really love this show and its impact on my life is greater than one would think.
March 26th, 2015. I decide to watch Steven Universe after seeing gifsets of the first Stevenbomb on my dash from lingering members of the people who worked on my previous hyperfixation Attack on Space (A spinoff AU from the parent series Attack on Titan, which my interest in was fading quickly). I opt to watch the episodes that are on demand because they’re easier to access. I watch Alone Together first, Full Disclosure second (actual quote from me, who hadn’t known about SU’s musical nature: “Since when is SU a musical?!”). I then spend the next week or two watching the episodes on demand, then going onto KissCartoon to watch the series in order, in its entirety. (Quote when watching S1E05 Frybo: “I’m glad I’m watching these now before this inevitably becomes my new hyperfixation.” I have second hand embarrassment moments from this episode to this day). My brother decides to watch with me occasionally.
Tumblr media
Fast forward to the end of March. I’m caught up with the series (back then only up to Joy Ride, which aired the day I began this journey). My friend Zac and I are now both into the show, and the following week Attack the Light comes out the same day that Say Uncle airs. Say Uncle is the first episode I watch live. I download ATL and finish it within a week. The rest of the weekly episodes (you heard me: weekly) were to follow and I was excited to officially be involved in the fandom. The beginning of April, I found the comics and I got to issue #5, the one where Pearl sucks in a gem-embedded book into her own gem and becomes ill from it. that was the day that I realized Pearl was my favorite character. Hurt/comfort is my way to tell.
I carry on watching the episodes throughout the month, and then after Reformed airs, we are faced with a hiatus. back then, a month and a half was a long time. Then, I got into the Pearl theories. I was all over the so called “nacre theory” right up until the theory had been confirmed in Back to the Barn (I still am, though the term “nacre theory” takes on a whole new meaning that I’m not sure will see the light of day now that we know more about Homeworld). You should have seen me go ham reblogging things about Pearl being lower-class, a lowly technician (ha), a maintenance drone. And all Pearls looked exactly the same back then in the fanart.
May 26th they announced the second Stevenbomb, half the fandom combusted. So did I. Sworn to the Sword happened and I had more fuel for the NT. I woke up that Thursday morning to a gifset of Pearl and Rose’s fusion dance because We Need to Talk leaked and spontaneously combusted right there. Then they announced Week of Sardonyx and our naive selves said “another one?” I went camping that weekend, which was also the weekend of SDCC. I nearly had a heart attack from my over-excitement when I got home that Sunday.
Week of Sardonyx came and went, with even more fuel to the fire for the NT. Cartoon Network does their greatest fuckup of the year by accidentally putting all of the Summer of Steven episode titles a whole year before they air. They changed the release date for the weekly episodes from August 6th to September 10th, and then we were graced by small Peridot on September 24th.
Back to the Barn airs. I die.
Then we go into a very long hiatus until Stevenbomb 4, airing in January 2016. This marks the first epsiodes to be leaked with the traditional screenshots + 2 minute clip. This was our first look at both diamonds + their pearls, and people were reasonably excited. Then we entered what we thought was the longest hiatus in fandom history–and we got the In Too Deep special earlier than expected.
Following the special, they announced the Steven Nuke/Summer of Steven. 4 weeks of episodes every night from mid-July to mid-August. Mr. Greg was the first musical episode and the crew hyped it up so much and yet it still had a huge impact on those watching that night. It was nominated for an Emmy one year later in 2017. We got some of the most intense episodes of the show in that bomb, with Amethyst’s arc, Bismuth holding the first half-hour special, the revelation that Rose supposedly shattered Pink Diamond, and Centipeetle’s corruption being explained further. Following SOS, there were weekly episodes and then another short hiatus, until Gem Harvest’s release in November. A short hiatus and then Three Gems and a Baby aired in early December.
During 2016, I meet two of my best friends through the fandom - @always-make-it-gayer and @hackerperidot. Gale and J have been my friends since that summer and because of this fandom, I’ve been less lonely and have had a blast in the ever growing group chat we have (Reverse Garden of Eden). I love you guys, and of course everyone else in the chat.
Following 3GAAB, in early January 2017, the entirety of Stevenbomb 5 drops on the app. Pictures with the diamonds and the zoo and the famethyst were on the internet in seconds. I had been on holiday break from school, and the night this all dropped was the first school night when the break was over. I stayed up very late, watched the episodes when I woke up for school in the morning, and listened to What’s the Use of Feeling Blue on repeat in the cold, snowy weeks to come. This was also right around the time my mom bought a house and we were ready to move in.
I got another birthday episode–Rocknaldo, airing on February 24th. Could’ve been better. I’m not complaining though. SU was crucial during this time because I was feeling very depressed and closed off due to the move and missing the apartment. The New Crystal Gems was the last episode the apartment got to see, and I promised to show Pearl’s backstory when it eventually aired, but we moved too early for that to happen. I like to imagine it can see my journal entries (you can ask if you want, in short it’s a coping mechanism I developed). Thereafter, we had another hiatus leading up to the sixth Stevenbomb with Aquamarine and Topaz. That bomb ended with the saddest episode in the series, finalizing season 4. Then the Wanted event aired, and we got so much lore content and more hints to the Pink Diamond mystery.
There came the biggest hiatus in the fandom’s history to this day. We were so thirsty for content. It was dry as fuck and the only light in the dark was SDCC with the Lars of the Stars clip (which would then air months later) and the trailer for the first half of season 5′s kickoff bomb.
Gemcation airs, and everyone finally understands Pearl’s quirk with covering her mouth in discussions about the diamonds. We all were getting so antsy at this point to find out what was happening with Pink Diamond and the lore behind the show and by god where is White Diamond?
We get Stranded in January 2018, allowing us to spark the “diamonds get revealed in January” meme with the Pink Diamond face reveal. Of course, this is debunked by Legs From Here To Homeworld in July 2018.
We get more episodes in March, and then are plunged into the final reveal in May with the half hour event, Can’t Go Back and A Single Pale Rose. The fandom collectively freaked out with the revelation that Pearl and Rose were diamond and pearl and faked the shattering in an effort to end the war. The people who survived this saw the Heart of the Crystal Gems arc in July. This was the week that held the Rupphire wedding.
Reunited airs, and I am surrounded by 3 of my best friends ( @asassynerdnamedgabbs, @neroblackcat, and @hackerperidot who had been visiting New York from Australia that week ) so I hold myself back from reacting too much. I cried that night out of sheer joy that my favorite show was the first cartoon to show a lesbian wedding on national TV. Of course, we get the diamonds and then SDCC the following weeks, with Legs From Here to Homeworld. I am at my cousin’s graduation party the day of the panel and my phone is slowly losing battery percentage as I try to keep up with the tweets and posts about what was going on. It was a huge deal.
Now we arrive here. Nothing had been shown at last month’s NYCC which is unusual, but that’s okay. We are still on hiatus, and it is SU’s 5th anniversary of being on the air. I am patiently waiting for the show to come back, and I’ll have more memories to make with this fandom in the months to come.
Happy Anniversary, SU!

Cultural Immersion in Japan
I had the privilege of participating in my second campaign with Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Last May, I documented my Tokyo & Yamagata photo diary for TOHOKUxTokyo. This time, my adventures are centered around cultural experiences in Tokyo.
Daikanyama T-Site
No matter where you go in Japan, you are likely to find someone reading. It is no wonder that Japan is home to what many would crown “The Best Bookstore in the World”. Daikanyama Tsutaya Books is a bookworm wonderland with wooden interiors and ample amounts of sunlight. Tsutaya Books is nested in the middle of architectural masterpiece Daikanyama T-site.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Daikanyama also contains many shops and cafes. The entire area is an ideal place to get lost in a good book. This town is also the most pet-friendly area I have ever visited in Japan. You can see many owners enjoy the establishment with their fur babies. *Kudos to Ginger Maeda for being such a good model.
There is a metro stop at Daikanyama, so getting there is quite simple. Many specialty restaurants, shops, and cafes are situated close to the station (including this yellow espresso van).

Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions
The festival is held annually during the month of February. This year’s dates are February 9-25, 2018. As I was walking around Yebisu Garden Place, I interacted with a red piano that I assumed was native to the mall. Each piano note is the catalyst for dozens of wooden triggers. Later, I found out that the piano is an interactive exhibition for Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2018: Mapping the Invisible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2018 marks the 10th anniversary of this event. The current theme “Mapping the Invisible” is centralized around the power and diversity of video expression. I believe this theme is prevalent in today’s age where anything and everything is documented. Although we may not all be artists, we are all documentarists in our own right. The memories and experiences we capture are building blocks for our lives. The way we choose to document is a reflection of artistic and individual expression.
Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2018 was the cultural highlight of my trip. Contemporary art may be a difficult topic to understand, but it is intellectually stimulating. Some pieces are very visually pleasing, including Rafaël Rozendaal’s Into Time 15 05 02 featured above. Each canvas changes colors and morphs shapes at every angle. This colorful piece marks the beginning of the festival. Other short documentaries such as Erkan Özgen’s Wonderland are emotionally impactful. The displays are simultaneously enticing and haunting. You are sure to reflect on the pieces afterward.

As you are navigating your way through the festival, you can obtain stamps at each location. Once you collect 5 stamps, you are rewarded with a “Mapping the Invisible” tote. The facility also hosts a cafe with pastries and a string of restaurants at BRICK END.
Ueno Ameyoko
Ueno’s Ameyoko is the cultural melting pot of Japan. The street highlights a multitude of cuisines from countries all over the world. Bargain clothing, produce stands, and foreign foods can all be found at Ameyoko.

Bonsai Museum
I am always fascinated by the meticulous nature of Japanese culture. The finest details are taken into account when growing bonsai trees. Bonsai is a historic Japanese art form using trees inside containers. Wires alter the direction and growth of branches. Trees are tended daily to ensure longevity. The most expensive bonsai tree at this museum is ¥100,000,000 (which is roughly $950,000). That particular tree has been featured on many television programs worldwide. The bonsai garden is a nice change of pace, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Classes are also offered for those interested in learning about bonsai.

Tea Ceremony
In Japan, traditions of the past very much embedded into the present day. The tea ceremony is a celebrated part of Japanese culture. The tradition can be traced back thousands of years. Originally, the sacred ceremony was only intended for males- women and children were deemed inferior. Tea gatherings were instances when social status became nullified. Whether you were a shogun or a samurai, you were required to remove all armor and embellishments to enter the tea ceremony. Luckily, women are now allowed to participate. Wearing a yukata for the tea ceremony made this experience even more notable.

Hie Shrine
It is almost impossible to visit Japan without walking past a shrine. Even during my time studying abroad, the program emphasized the importance of shrines. I love seeing the juxtaposition of a historical shrine and a skyscraper. I believe that the parallels between old and new are what makes Japan so interesting.
Hie Shrine hosts one of the three great Japanese festivals of Edo. The festival takes place each year on June 15. The shrine is well-known for its purple chrysanthemum crest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of my favorite parts of traveling is the opportunity to experience another culture. The acts of integrating into a community, interacting with locals, and immersing yourself in a foreign culture are integral to becoming a well-rounded individual. By understanding other people, we are able to understand ourselves better.
With Japan tourism currently on the uprise (reaching its peak during Tokyo 2020 Olympics), I hope people utilize this time to better understand Japan.

[ENG]Here is my translation of Momoka’s graduation live speech and messages from the other members. I apologize in advance for my bad english >_<. [FR]Voici la traduction du discours de Momoka lors de son dernier live ainsi que les messages que les autres membres lui ont adressé: Reni-chan: [ENG] When you announced that you will quit the group, to be honest the first thing I thought was "You're really stupid!" and I asked you several times if you did not want to change your mind. You must have found me annoying. But I want you to know that they are many things you did I am grateful for: First, when you just joined the group, every time I told you that I could not do this dance step correctly, you always told me "What if you tried like that, or like that ?" while showing me the movement so that I can improve my dance. Also, whenever I was anxious, you took my hand to reassure me. When my foot was injured and that I couldn't do silly things on stage because of this, you did it instead of me. When I had surgery for my foot, when it was my birthday or when I had my solo concert, you always sent me messages. You really supported me a lot. I wondered what will Momoclo become without you. But you have to live your own life so I decided to go forward as 4 member group while having fun from now on. I want the 4 of us to build a new landscape even bigger than now while remembering the one we built with 5 members. I would like you to consider these 8 years together as a treasure. Thank you for all your efforts. [FR] Quand tu nous as annoncé ton départ, pour être honnête la première chose que j'ai pensé c'est "T'es vraiment trop bête !" et je t'ai demandé plusieurs fois si tu ne voulais pas changer d'avis. Tu as du me trouver pénible. Tu m'as vraiment énormément soutenue. Aarin: First of all, thank you for your work during 8 years. When I think back to all my memories with you, the most memorable is the one when you joined the group. Me too, I joined it after the other member and everyone was very kind to me. So when I heard that a new member was going to join the group, I wanted to welcome her in the same way. Except that she was an incredibly talented girl. You were already famous, so I thought "That's THE Momoka!" and suddenly I had not anything to teach you neither in singing or dancing. But during all the years as Momoclo members, there have been many moments of doubt and I thought I was happy to have been able to be with you during these moments even just a little bit. From today, you will discover many things and I would like you to become happy to the point of you will think "It was the good decision to leave the group". And that you do your best to the point of making us think "She took the good decision by leaving the group". After your departure, I will feel lonely, I will not have anyone next to me in the car anymore and I will not be able to take a picture with you anymore. From now on I intend to do my best with the 3 others while keeping in mind that you had been there with us. Congratulations for these 8 years and thank you for being with us until now. Shiorin: Thank you for these 8 years. Suddenly, I realized that it was already 8 years! I remember the day when you joined the group as if it was yesterday. The first thing I thought was "Her hair looks so smooth and silky !" (They laugh.). At the beginning we were the two small ones of the group and now we are the ones with the most difference in term of height. We also share the same blood type but our personnality are total opposite. You keep your blog up to date and you are hard worker while I am not. Sometimes I watched you and I always thought you looked so beautifully calm and serene. And in the group, I saw you a bit like my rival (in a good way). From today we will follow two different paths but the fact that you have been there until now is something irrefutable. I wish you did not forget it. From now on we will do our best with 4 members so that you can know what we become without even having to use your high skill in net research. Kanako: You worked hard during these 8 years, congratulations. We shared advices on pills for mouth ulcers. If you ever find new pills, send me a message. (Everybody laugh) Really, I can not imagine the Momoclo with 4 members. But when you announced you leave the group, I understood that deep down, your decision was already taken so I did not say anything. But still there was a part of me that could not digest it and wondered what I was supposed to do. But you too were very anxious and you chose to make this difficult decision alone so I figured the best thing to do was we encourage you. (She thinks for a long time) In fact, there is something very straightforward that I could not tell you until now: I really wanted to celebrate our 10th Anniversary as a 5 members group. (She keeps quiet) There's a part of me that thought we could really do it with 5 members, but suddenly I realized that there is also dreams that would not come true.... From today, we will mutually follow a new path but I wish us all to be able to achieve the new dreams that we will find there and us, we will also do our best with 4 members. Now, follow this new path with a smile and take all our and Mononofu's feelings with you, please. Thank you again for everything you have done so far. Tu as bien travaillé durant ces 8 années. Momoka's message to other members/ Message de Momoka pour les autres membres: I caused a lot of trouble to the group that will remains with 4 members instead of 5 and despite everything you took the trouble to prepare a farewell song, thank you very much. So first of all, Reni, Kanako, Shiorin, Aarin, I really want to thank you. Aarin, you who are an idol 24 hours a day, thank you for teaching me so much about how to become one. Shiorin, you always looked after us calmly and kindly, thank you. I was very surprised to see how much you had become a strong adult in such a short time. Kanako, you were the very embodiment of a responsible person. I followed you knowing that we could count on you in all circumstances, thank you. And finally Reni, no matter how much you were sad or anxious yourself, you showed me that you were always there to take care of others in a warm and kind way. Thank you for saving me so many times. Momoka's message to Mononofu and staff/ Message de Momoka pour les Mononofu et le staff: Reni, Kanako, Shiorin, Aarin, I'm really glad you were there. I too thought I could go to the 10th Anniversary as 5 members. But for the future of the 4 of you that begins now, I had to make a decision. We were often called the "5 miracles girls". But to be honest I never felt that way. I think the group of 5 that are Momoclo is you 4 plus the fans. So, dear Mononofu, whether for 10 years, for 20 years or much later, I count on you to support them. Dear staff members, thank you for creating this stage for me today. My dear fans, if I could reach 8 years, it is thanks to you who supported me warmly and kindly in any situation. Thank you for giving me this idol life full of happiness for 8 years. During these 8 years, I have the feeling I have accomplished all that I wanted, so I leave without regrets. That's why I want to be happy to the point of making you proud of me. To you who have followed me for 8 years and you, despite my selfish decision and my sudden departure, who told me "Congratulations, you did a great job.", thank you very much. From now on, I entrust you the 4 others. Kanako’s last message to Mononofu/ Dernier message de Kanako pour les Mononofu: Thank you all. So we are only 4 now. I do not know what awaits us from now on but to think about it, it was laways like this until now. We go to the unknown but I want us to do our best by having fun to make you smile. I apologize for all the confused feelings you could have had today, but I hope you will continue to support us.

My Speech
I haven’t blogged in over a year ... this post really doesn’t count because it is a copy of a speech I gave this week at the a statewide nurse appreciation event the March of Dimes put on.  Nurses were awarded in 20 different categories.  There was also a silent and live auction to raise funds for the MOD.

March of Dimes
Nurse of the Year Event
11/22/19
Richmond Hilton, Short Pump
When Latne asked me to speak today, I couldn’t say no because any chance I get to express gratitude to nurses I am going to jump on it!  I cannot think of very many honors higher than publicly thanking those who serve others -- especially babies.  So if you, all the nurses here today, get nothing else out of my little speech, please hear me when I say “THANK YOU!”  Thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart!  You make a difference every.single.day!  Latne also asked me to keep my remarks under 5 minutes -- I’ll do my very best, but no promises … it’s going to be quite challenging to share our story in just 5 minutes.
Let me begin with a day I will never forget.  It was an ordinary Saturday night in early 2018.  Anne-Marie’s health was pretty stable by then.  She had long been off oxygen, and she was tolerating her gtube feeds fairly well.  Anyways, I got her out of the bath and dressed her for bed.  I looked her in the eyes just like every other night and said, “Anne-Marie, I love you.”  And then that very ordinary night became one very extraordinary night in a matter of seconds.  Anne-Marie looked back at me with the most loving eyes and responded very robotically and very, very softly, “IIII Wuuub wun.”  You see, Anne-Marie was nonverbal up until last year.  I sat in the floor and cried tears of joy and relished in the fact that I had finally heard the three little words, I sometimes doubted I’d ever hear.  I vividly remember after a few minutes of crying, saying a prayer out loud (I usually pray silently and I hate to admit it, only when I need something) but in that moment I thanked God out loud for every single one of Anne-Marie’s nurses by name, doctors by name, therapists by name, her teachers by name, my parents, my best friend, Maggie, and everyone else who has cared for Anne-Marie along the way.
Anne-Marie was born at 25 weeks gestation because I had severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. The details surrounding her traumatic birth are a little cloudy.  However, I have a couple of very clear memories from that very scary time.
I was admitted to the hospital on January 10th. I was supposed to be on bed-rest because of my high blood pressure, but we had planned a 5th birthday party at the local bowling alley for my oldest daughter, Leah.  So while we were at Leah’s birthday celebration, my OB doctor called and said my blood work didn’t look good and I needed to go to the hospital.  Upon arrival and evaluation, the doctors said they would try and wait as long as possible to deliver, because they wanted to give me steroids for the baby’s lungs, but things didn’t look good and I may need to have a c-section “soon.”
This news was not okay with me for several reasons.  The first and most important reason was that my baby, in my mind, was not developed enough to sustain life outside the womb.  At that time, I knew next to nothing about prematurity.  I just had this gut-wrenching feeling that my baby was going to die.
The second reason I was not okay with learning the news that a “soon” delivery was inevitable, was that I did NOT want my baby to be born on Leah’s birthday.  Again, I had a bad feeling I was going to lose my baby and I didn’t want to have an anniversary of a birth and a death on the same day.
So, we were in the hospital, doing our best to process this very worrisome, new information and an in-depth ultrasound was done to predict the size of our baby.  Afterwards, two residents came in to speak with me about the possibility of the smallest breathing tube the NICU has being too large for our baby.  This information just lead to more questions with unknown answers.  They left and then it was a nurse who came back in, and with the most compassionate demeanor, she asked what we were going to name our baby.  I looked at my husband, Bradley, cluelessly … all I could think about is why are we going to name a baby, who probably won’t survive.  What’s the point?  It will just make this all harder?  We explained to the sweet nurse that we didn’t have any names picked out and we didn’t even know the sex, we had wanted to be surprised.  The nurse said that they liked to call babies by name when working to resuscitate them and caring for them -- she said they have a tendency to respond better.  With that small act of kindness, an overwhelming sense of comfort came over me.  I surrendered all and we named our baby.
After that humble conversation with that nurse my feelings surrounding the date of my c-section began to change.  I figured if Anne-Marie needed to be born on Leah’s birthday, maybe that could actually be a gift and not a curse.
And that’s exactly what happened. Anne-Marie was born en caul on January 12th.  She weighed 420 grams (that’s 14.8 ounces for all of us non-medical people) and was 10 inches long.  She was tinier than tiny -- about the size of a big Smartphone with a hard case.
Anne-Marie did fairly-well during the very beginning of her 200-day hospital-stay.  I was discharged and tried my absolute best to keep some sense of normalcy for Leah, all while traveling back and forth to the hospital each day and pumping breast milk every three hours.
It wasn’t until right around the 2 week mark when we had our first big scare.  I got a call from a doctor who said Anne-Marie’s oxygen stats were really low and they needed to change out her breathing tube to the next biggest size.  When we arrived, the normally dark and calm NICU room looked completely different.  The lights were bright and there was close to 10-15 people crowded around Anne-Marie’s isolette.  A social worker sat with me and explained what was happening.  One nurse had a cart with a separate computer and was logging everything the medical team was doing.  A respiratory therapist was bagging Anne-Marie.  Two doctors were conversing quietly about my daughter but not including me.  The air was tense.  Everyone was very serious.  A hospital chaplin came and introduced himself.  He asked me if I wanted to have Anne-Marie baptised.
Prior to her birth, I was the one who thought she was going to die.  Now here we are, a couple of weeks later, and the experts think she’s going to die.  I politely responded, “No” to the chaplin.  I know it’s irrational now, but at that time, I figured if I allowed her to be baptised, I was giving up.  I thought if I willed her to live, she would.  I was scared.  I asked if I should call my husband in from work.  The doctor in the purple tie responded matter-of-factly, “Yes,” he said, “your baby is very sick and could die any minute.”  I called Bradley then stared at the beeping monitor displaying sats in the teens and 20s for half an hour.  I was in a daze, when one of Anne-Marie’s primary nurses asked me if I needed a break.  She may have never known it, but she had two patients that day, Anne-Marie and myself.  Her calm, professional vibe and consideration allowed me to deal with the situation.
These are just two of countless times during Anne-Marie’s journey where I credit my own success to her nurses.  All along, I’ve always credited Anne-Marie’s success to her skilled nurses.  And I always will.  Through 5 surgeries, several PICC lines, countless blood transfusions, back and forth transitions between the jet ventilator, conventional ventilator, and CPAP, progression from TPN to all mixes of formula, and graduating from an isolette to a warmer bed to an open crib, Anne-Marie’s nurses have been there on the front lines every step of the way. Not only did they medically care for her, but they went way beyond that … Anne-Marie’s nurses were really her first parents before we had her in our true custody.  They advocated to doctors on our behalf during rounds, they sang to her to soothe her, they dressed her up when she was able to wear clothes, they took pictures to decorate her bedside and did everything as much as they could to support the emotional needs of all of us.
Today, Anne-Marie is in school and is very successful.  She’s spunky and silly and full of life. Anne-Marie loves reading, singing, pretend-play, her Nana, and following Leah around every step she takes.  My family is forever in debt to the NICU nurses and doctors, the March of Dimes, and the greater field of neonatology.  I reflect upon her journey from time to time and know without a shadow of doubt that each person who cared for Anne-Marie was put in that position at that particular time for a reason.  Her outcome would have been different if certain pieces to the puzzle were lost.  We will never be able to express enough gratitude for saving Anne-Marie’s life. On behalf of babies everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your dedication and service.

Dear Mr. Mustang,
Day 5 of Royai Week: Letters Rated: T? iunno || Words: 2928
January 10th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
The house is quieter with you gone. It’s funny, all that time trying to keep the noise down and it’s the first thing I notice. Father barely speaks, I think he’s still furious with you -  he doesn’t show it, he was never one to vocalize his thoughts. He stays in his study, leaving his comfort zone for dinner time or at night once he’s done brooding, I suppose.
I’m not completely sure why you’ve asked me to write to you, but your face looked genuine when you asked so I won’t take it as a jest. I suppose I’ve run out of things to say. I’d like to know what the academy is like. I wish you the best in your training.
Riza H.
Riza bit on the edge of her inkpen, nervous about the words that she wanted to say without saying too much.  She sat back into her wooden chair, having half a mind to tear it into pieces. Her hand hovered over the sheet, ready to crumple into a ball, but she hesitated.
Leaning forwards, she grabbed the short edge of the letter and folded, creasing it to fit neatly within an envelope. She tucked the letter away to drop off at the postal office during her trip to town.
January 30th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
Winter classes are in session again. I’ll admit the house seems lonelier. In between the usual upkeep around the house and work from the courses given, there’s hardly a soul to speak to besides what I’m doing now in these letters. I’ve played with the thought of leaving this place too. You always talked about the big city and I only have my imagination and images from books to go by. Perhaps, one day, I could go see the rest of Amestris. I laugh just thinking about it.
As I write this, Father’s cough is going off a few doors down into his study.  Someone would need to take care of him. I do hope these get to you. Old Lady Germaine at the post says I’m addressing them right. If not, I hope a kind stranger takes comfort in the musings of a random girl.
Riza H.
February 16th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
I’m hesitant to write this, even now. I feel as though I’m being irrational and losing focus over stupid letters. For heaven’s sake, you’re in the military academy and I’m just someone with too much time on their hands who can’t handle a father who mumbles to himself about a legacy and his alchemy like a madman. I can’t
The pen veered off the paper’s edge and dropped onto surface of the desk with a clatter, and her palms pressed down into her eyes to stop the manifestation of tears. She knew it was a lost cause. She tore herself down, reprimanding herself her letters were just that, not a diary.  Her father’s voice became eerily clear in her head, encompassing her own thoughts. She was 17, not a child with her mind in the clouds.
She shut her eyes, curling her body into the seat of the chair. The temptation to leave was all she could think about.
In a way, she envied Roy and his ability to pack up and leave once as the apprenticeship came to a close. Her time would come, Riza consoled herself.
Taking a deep breath, she wiped the remnants from her moment of weakness into the collar of her dress. Her hand ripped the letter and tossed the pieces into the wastebin next to her desk. Riza lifted the surface of her desk to produce another sheet of paper. She began again.
February 16th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
How’s the winter treating you in the academy? I’ve been very busy with schoolwork. I sometimes find time to go out into the field and shoot some old cans - glass bottles if I’m lucky. I wonder what it is like to have a dog as a companion. Father takes strolls on his own. He hasn’t offered apprenticeship to anyone else. What little he says, he’s always sure to remind me to keep mindful of my studies and says no one can take my education from me. Are you keeping up with what you learned here? Or has it all gone away?  Best wishes.
Riza H.
February 29th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
A day that only comes around every four years. An unusual occurrence in our everyday lives, like birds singing in the winter, sunlight during the rain, or my father coming home with groceries and packages after a day out on the town. Can you believe father goes out? It seems a new life has gotten into him lately.
He’s mostly silent to me. But there is something unsettling, where his eyes wanders. It’s not at me, but it’s something around me and I can’t quite place where they roam. Could he be going mad after all? He seems better but..I digress.
Best Wishes Riza H.
March 15th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
Whether or not you’re getting these, they’re my only consolation. It takes my mind away. The Ishvalan War is getting more dangerous and closer to rural areas such as my quiet little hometown. Father’s malady bothers him less as the temperature begins to warm. He makes trips still to the town.
I talked to him about if I could ever travel out of town and go see Mother’s grave that lies at a cemetery a little more to the east. He became irrationally furious. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. He degraded my intelligence, which was off-putting, but … The anniversary of her death is soon, perhaps I should feel some empathy for the loss of his wife, as well.  Hope you’re well.
Riza H.
March 21, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
I’m terrified. I have nightmares.
The letter dated March 15th laid on her desk; it settled unwritten. Riza placed the heavy quilt given to her by her mother and tried to find the comfort or a light to latch on to.
May 25th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
It’s your birthday. I wish I had saved the address to your Aunt Chris so that I could send a gift there, but I seem to have lost my head and with it the address you left behind. I swore I placed it somewhere safe. I’m biting my lip as I write this - I miss your goofy nature. Your light heartedness brought a little glee to this otherwise dull existence. I laughed harder than I ever remember doing and my smiles are far and few between now.
This is rather forward of me and quite unlike me, but I reminisce on the the summer days where we spent the lazy afternoon under the clouds. I never imagined I could enjoy losing time watching the clouds roll by. It’s only been a half a year, but it seems so long ago now.
Best Wishes, Riza H.
June 18th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
We managed to go visit her. Her grave was no longer intact. Father was silent the entire ride home and there was something in the surface of his eyes that I wasn’t able to read. Perhaps I’ve been staring at them as listlessly brown eyes that any emotion would be so foreign for me.
There was a skirmish of some kind with the Ishvalans and now there’s no telling where the grave was amongst the barren wasteland. It should be alarming that the fighting is nearby, but military men came to our door and spoke to me about the safety they were assuring.
Father, as bold and brash as he is, spat in their faces. I apologized for it. Thankfully, they were convinced when I told him in low tones that he was missing a screw. I saw their heads look at the state of the house and they understood immediately that it was just us there. Whether I should be unsettled by it, we’ll find out.
My heart aches, Roy. I’ve seen my mother’s grave a handful of times. The memory of her is so fleeting and I barely remember what she looks like any more. I shed my tears, not for the loss of a mother, but the only memory that was tangible.  I have a theory Father took down all the pictures and destroyed them. I wonder if I look like her, would that be the explanation for his cold behavior towards me? On a lighter, yet somehow darker note, could you imagine a daughter with the spitting image of Berthold Hawkeye with a bow? Best Wishes.
Riza H.
September 12th, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang.
It’s my birthday. But there hardly seems a reason to celebrate. The sky is dark and gloomy as if winter will approach earlier this year.  The entire summer has passed and classes are over. I wonder why he felt the need to send me to school. Does he possibly intend to marry me off to someone? What are his plans? He seems like he’s in a scheming mood, but I’ve mentioned before his behavior is unlike from what I’ve seen since you left for the academy.
I’ll blow out a candle or perhaps an imaginary one. I’ll take comfort in the times I made your birthday cake. Or the one year you tried to surprise me with a small cake for me. You said “small cake for the small lady.” I was so mad, but I hold that memory dearly now.  It was an awful cake too. Someone should teach you how to bake. If only you’d learn.
Take care. Riza H.
November 27, 1904 Dear Mr. Mustang,
Do you believe we’re born with our burdens? That we’ll never escape them  no matter how fast you run? Forgive me for being vague. The tears that fall are trying not to dilute the ink on the paper as I write this and I don’t have the energy to begin once more.
Alchemy is lauded like the salvation of mankind. If this is the product of alchemy,  if this is what my father has to show for his years of research, then I wish I had no part of it. There’s a fire on my back and I cannot extinguish it. It burns terribly, like his alchemy. I’ve fallen sick from it, from his inexperience in the application of it.
If you ever have a child, promise me you won’t treat them like my father has treated me. I hardly have words to speak to him. He speaks to me now with a tone of concern. I know it’s not for me. Not for the welfare of Riza Hawkeye.  Was I unworthy of it? Did he question my aptitude? Did he not think I’d be capable? Questions are swirling in my head, pleading for answers, and I lack the courage to confront him. What else is he capable of? What more do I not know of Berthold Hawkeye? Please send me your regards. I beg for someone to show me they still care for a forgotten girl in a rundown house.
Riza H.
January 12, 1905 Dearest Mr. Mustang,
It’s the new year. A whole year has gone by and a lot has happened since you’ve gone to your military academy for reasons I may never know. I’ve sent a myriad of letters and I’m not sure if you’ve received them or if there isn’t time for you. But as I said, this is the new year and I suppose I should create my own closure by properly saying good-bye - for my own sake.  Plenty has happened, the unspeakable - things I never thought I’d witness, but I bear the scars of it. You gave me an insight of a different type of life. I can only hope I can get a semblance of what that’s like.
I never thought I’d admit this to myself. I wish that you were here. Wherever you are, stay safe, Roy. Best Wishes.
Riza H.
Delicate hands folded the letter into straight creases before it slipped effortlessly into the white envelope and addressed it for the last time.
With a sadness in the depths of her chest, she sealed the envelope, rising from her chair. Riza exited her room and saw the light escape from the cracks of her father’s study. A warm jacket weighed heavily against her tiny frame, but the bite to her cheeks reminded her that a minor inconvenience was leagues better than frostbite to her skin.
Old Lady Germaine no longer worked the post office, having recently retired. Her granddaughter now ran it for her. The girl around the same age as Riza perked as she entered the building. Riza shivered off the change in temperature and began to materialize the letter from the inner lining of her jacket.
“Miss Hawkeye, right?”
A little stunned to be called by name by someone she didn’t see too often, she nodded slowly. This was a small town after all.
“My grandmother said you’d be coming in a lot.”
It made her embarrassed and Riza thanked the cold for the redness on her cheeks. She silently placed the letter on the counter, sliding over to the girl to handle.
She smiled at her as she took it, but extended her other hand, “I’m Germaine, like my grandmother.” Young Germaine, she thought comically.
She took the hand and shook it courteously. “Riza Hawkeye. Nice to meet you.”
“Same to you! I’ll see you around.” Riza heard her say as she turned around to exit back into the bitter cold.
As she walked back into the deteriorating manor, at first, she thought her father was in his study again rambling to himself like the self-deluded madman he became. However, as she hung the coat on the rack, Riza listened carefully and distinguished a second voice. It was deeper and louder than the weak voice of her father. Curious, Riza began to ascend the stairs to second story, trying not to stir the noise out of the steps.
The second voice sounded as if they were pleading and her father responded with the emotionless tenor that somehow broke her heart every time.
Suddenly, it changed.
Riza heard the chatter grow into yells. A plea for someone to help, for a doctor, “Someone call a doctor! Is anybody here?!”
Riza dashed as quickly as her thawing legs would allow her to the origin of the sound from the study. The panic set in her and she didn’t know who was in her house or what was going on, but someone beckoned for her that wasn’t her father.
At the threshold, she froze in a manner likening to the ice outside. She leaned against the door with her palms to catch herself and her face contorted in a look of disbelief and horror.
She smelled the tin in the air. Blood contrasted against the white of the paper on the desk. The cough that deteriorated her father’s health only worsened with the winter, and her father was slung around the shoulder of a military officer. It took her a moment to register the face and she could swear the feeling of her feet nearly left.
It was him. Standing in the flesh. Terror in his eyes.
“Riza!”She heard him shout.
The family doctor came right as the feeling gathered in her fingers. Berthold Hawkeye was pronounced dead at 12:47 pm on January 12th, 1905.
She didn’t offer Mr. Mustang to stay the night with her the Hawkeye manor, so he stayed at an inn in town. He left the next day to take care of some matters in Central. He said he’d be back for the funeral he was going to pay for.
The letters became insignificant now. They were nonexistent and she vowed the topic would never surface unless he brought it up. The feeling of embarrassment from being acknowledged like a stranger. She couldn’t help but doubt herself. Her thoughts went to the few summers they spent together, a time when she didn’t see him the way she did now. Where they all in her head? Did she not only inherit her father’s legacy but his lunacy too?
Riza felt the quietness of the house. It was so silent. She could feel his ghost around her, especially on her back.
It was a surreal moment. Riza entered her father’s study and began sort through his belongings and organize the clutter he had left behind. There were books upon books stacked halfway to the ceiling and filled the bookshelf. Some of them with paper notes jutting out the edges and she hated each and every blank book for not being good enough for her late father.
She let out a sigh without anyone in the large house to hear it. Once the loose papers and strewn books were organized, she reached for one of the many trunks and opened it. This one was more organized with folders and dividers to separate papers. There was a clump at the back that made the dividers bend from the breadth of the contents.
As her delicate fingers wiggled it out, her eyes widened and she felt a cold sweat suddenly spread across the surface of her skin. In her hands were a stack of letters with a string wrapping them together. In the front was her familiar handwriting and the familiar address she wrote so many times
Her breath escaped through her lips.

Dramaturgy Paradise: George Mann @ Edfringe 2017
Theatre Ad Infinitum presents:
Translunar Paradise
Theatre Ad Infinitum’s breakthrough smash-hit returns to the Fringe for their 10th anniversary
Written and directed by George Mann
Pleasance Courtyard, Fourth, 2 – 28 Aug 2017 (not 9, 15 & 22), 15.45 (17.00)
First seen at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011, Theatre Ad Infinitum’s multi award-winning, wordless tale of life, death and enduring love returns to the Pleasance following years of extensive international touring amassing nine awards.
Original performers George Mann and Deborah Pugh are joined by Sophie Crawford to retell with precise gesture and touches of humour the story of widower William who escapes to a comforting world of fantasy and memories rather than confront his grief. From beyond the grave, his wife Rose returns to help him let go.
This poignant, life-affirming tale uses intricate and lifelike hand-held masks – created by Madame Tussaud’s senior sculptor Victoria Beaton – to travel back and forth through William and Rose’s relationship, wordlessly conveying a lifetime of memories in 75 minutes. Translunar Paradise returns to the Fringe alongside Theatre Ad Infinitum’s Odyssey for the company’s 10th anniversary.
What was the inspiration for this performance? I had been trying to find a way to understand and deal with grief. My father had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer – after the initial shock two things happened.
Firstly, my father didn’t die in 4 months as we had been told; he fought the disease for another five years. This left my father and I time to resolve some of our long held disputes and disagreements (though not all of them!) and grow a little closer. Secondly, I found that I was grieving his death before he had even passed away, but I didn’t know how to grieve. Our nation and culture don’t do grief very well at all, as I discovered.
We don’t know how to speak about it, what to do, or how to deal with the natural process of grieving that lasts for a variable number of years. So I embarked on finding a story, a style and a play that could evoke a space in which the audience could share in the feelings of love, loss and bereavement – rather than feel alone or isolated.
Translunar Paradise was that play, a non-verbal production that expressed everything I had hoped to communicate – without words. This seemed fitting to me, as my experience of grief for the most part, involved not knowing how to speak about it – but feeling so much. Is performance still a good space for the public discussion of ideas? I think its one of the best spaces. Theatre can evoke the kind of visceral, passionate debate that can only come from having seen a live performance. It needs to be encouraged, but if an audience are invited to speak, to discuss and interact about something they have just watched, it often results in a very fulfilling conversation.
There’s also something unique about this type of debate in that it captures a feeling of community so often lost nowadays – whilst you can express your individual opinion, you are acutely aware of the collective of people who experienced the same show, yet may have different points of view – and this naturally challenges everyone present. Social media, TV – even cinema, often involves the expression of ideas in isolation from one another, ideas and opinions that are not necessarily informed by other peoples views – that create a feeling of wanting to be heard or read or seen, without necessarily having to truly engage or interact with another persons viewpoint.
The nature of debate and being impacted and learning from other people’s insights is lessened. Or reduced to angry exchanges on twitter in which 140 characters cannot properly express or capture the human interaction born of profound communal debate. Of course that’s my point of view and I invite anyone reading to disagree and debate this with me… How did you become interested in making performance? For a long time I was torn between painting, music and song writing, and theatre. But I found that theatre captures all of my passions – directing is like the collaborative composition of a live and constantly moving painting, all theatre that we make involves music and song, musicality and rhythm, and theatre itself is the art form of the imagination and therefore limitless in its possibility – which I love.
Having always loved theatre since a young age, a few moments converged that convinced me it was what I had to do. Seeing Complicité’s Caucasian Chalk Circle and Theatre O’s The Argument –discovering Jacque Lecoq’s pedagogy and physical theatre making school in Paris (and deciding I had to train there) – and understanding I didn’t have to define myself as ‘actor’ or ‘writer’ or ‘director’ as you’re encouraged to do in the UK, you could play all of these roles and more! Is there any particular approach to the making of the show? For me and for Theatre Ad Infinitum we set ourselves the aim of making something completely different each time we begin creating a play, and we usually always devise and make theatre through improvisation. This is very exciting, each time we’re entering into the unknown, but its also terrifying, as it’s a risk.
With Translunar Paradise I had never made a mask and mime show before, and making one about grief definitely raised a few eyebrows – I didn’t know if it would work, it was an instinct I was following. Not only that, but although I had trained in mask at the Lecoq School, I had had an idea about the masks being hand-held so that we could easily remove them and put them back on again as the story (which moves in time from an 80 year old couple in the present day back to the past and stories of their 60 year marriage together).
There was no examples of such a mask I draw from, so we had to understand, discover and find out how to play such masks and tell a story with them from scratch. Its very challenging, but I love it. Does the show fit with your usual productions? As all of our shows strive to be completely different, it fits perfectly in that its nothing like any of our other shows to date! What do you hope that the audience will experience? At the risk of sounding cheesy, the honest answer to this question is: I hope that the audience will be moved – to think about grief, the impact of death, the joy of life and how important it is to love without the fear of loss. Love and loss are a natural part of life, as is learning how to live with these facts, its something I’m still learning how to do. What strategies did you consider towards shaping this audience experience? I always focus on the story I’m telling and finding a style that can tell the story in the most powerful and effective way. We never take our audiences for granted and always put our plays through a vigorous process in which audiences are invited in to the room/theatre to watch and give feedback on the performance at roughly three stages, sometimes more, of our staggered 12-15 weeks of rehearsal (usually we’ll make work in period of 4-5 weeks finishing with a showing, take a break and then continue).
We ask for honest feedback and tell them not to hold back – as we see it as such a valuable way to learn how the play is perceived. Do the audience see what we hope they will see? If not why? Does it work? What bits are awful? Did the audience understand – or – what did the audience understand?
These are some of the questions we ask, and we take many notes. Then after a period of time in which we digest this information, we make plans and go back into rehearsal. Of course, even this process doesn’t guarantee the outcome, its success or enable any true control over shaping an audiences experience – but it keeps our feet on the ground, keeps us humble and stops us forgetting that theatre is both for an audience and unable to exist without one.
The production won multiple awards in the UK and abroad, including Mervyn Stutters’ Pick of the Fringe, the Brave New World Award and Audience Award at the Sarajevo MESS Theatre Festival in Bosnia & Herzegovina, the Best Theatre Direction Award at ACT Festival Bilbao Spain, The Argus Angel Award, Brighton Festival 2012, The Netherlands’ Wijkjury First Prize Award 2014 and The Observer Iron Man Award for actress and musician Kim Heron. George Mann said, “I'll never forget the first performances of this piece and the response of audiences. Translunar came from such a personal impulse - my father was dying of lung cancer and I felt that I was living in a country and a culture that didn't offer me a way to deal with my grief - the grief I felt knowing he would die; the grief I felt when he died. From this feeling I set about making this show of love, loss and letting go. Sadly my father passed before we completed and premiered the production. But the response was heart-warming - the show created what I can only describe as a communal space of grief - a place in which people could share in a feeling of loss and profound love. It was extraordinary. As were the stories audience members shared with us after every show. It was a humbling and unforgettable experience and I look forward to sharing this show once more.” A company whose work shifts in style as they explore each new subject, Theatre Ad Infinitum are showcasing several of their hit productions this year for the company’s 10th anniversary. Odyssey also returns to the Pleasance at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, following the return of Light to Battersea Arts Centre in June. Bucket List, the company’s new production for 2016, garnered critical acclaim, a Spirit of the Fringe Award, and enjoyed a London premiere at BAC where it was nominated for an Offie for Best Ensemble before an extensive UK tour. Co-Artistic Director George Mann also directed Medea at Bristol Old Vic in May. Theatre Ad Infinitum is an international ensemble of theatre-makers based in Bristol, UK, that develops new and original theatre for diverse audiences. Led by Co-Artistic Directors, Nir Paldi and George Mann, the group has been creating and touring critically acclaimed, award-winning productions for 10 years. Theatre Ad Infinitum’s mission is to create theatre that examines social and political themes through innovative storytelling and bold experimental styles, making something completely different each time. The company has recently become and Associate Artist at Bristol Old Vic and is an Associate Artist Alumni at Bush Theatre (2011-2013) The Lowry (2011-2017) and Redbridge Drama Centre (2009-2017). from the vileblog http://ift.tt/2rXQJ1l

Top Real Estate Agent in Oakville
To be a top real estate agent in Oakville, it is important to know the history. Unlike Sunset Hills or the Crestwood area, Oakville has never incorporated a City Hall. Yet, it is a popular area which travelers lie to visit.
Oakville is different than most cities like that of Sunset Hills and Crestwood, whose origins are surrounded in mystery. As word of mouth recollections start to fade while being handed down from one generation to the next. Several years ago I pondered upon the stories told about the Oakville community and where they had originated from. A well-known philanthropist and music store owner, Bill Nottelmann commented on how written materials should be composed about the area. But, many of Oakville’s residents have moved on and are practically non-existent today. So Nottelmann utilized his personal connections to form the (Oakville-Mehlville Alumni Association, Midwest BankCentre) along with other like-minded individuals. Released in 2002 (Reflections: a History of the Mehlville School District and Its Communities), the prize winner presented by Bill Nottelmann himself.
This was the most recent effort to try and memorialize Oakville’s origins dating back to a quaint community that offered land grants to fur trappers and ferryboat captains. Yet, the only written accounts of Oakville can be found in history books. The one thing these books have is the fact that Johannes Schulte was the Justice of the Peace during the late 1800s. At the turn of 1959, several members of the Oakville Fair Committee decided that September 10th to September 13th should be officially declared Oakville’s 100th Anniversary. The Centennial Celebration was held at Frankie’s Twin Pools, located just past the intersection of Telegraph and Fine Roads along the Meramec River. The celebration featured a 3-day horse show which was sponsored by the Oakville Fair Committee. Members of the committee included Mildred Bowman, Mrs. Henry Doerr, Robert & Edward Cecil, and Art Moore.
The 3-day event also featured ten special events, each of which being English and Western Divisions. Committee members hired Bessie Eek to play the organ. Besides the tie-in with the Oakville Horse Show, there’s little else which can be associated with the Centennial of 1959. According to Esley Hamilton well-known author of (A History of St. Louis County), “I cannot recall any special events that have occurred in 1859”.
A local historian by the name of Robert Lightfoot said he was not able to attend the Cenntenial festivities, instead Lightfoot assisted his family with farm work. Robert explained, “I was working on my family’s farm in the morning and during the evening hours helped them sell produce in Soulard”. Local records indicate the first post office to of been established in 1841 which is according to Robert G. Schultz’s Missouri post offices. It was located at the General Store and Weinheim Brother’s Grocers near Telegraph Road directly across from today’s Oakville Shopping Center.
Historic brochures were accredited by local churches, different historical societies, Chamber of Commerce, newspaper clippings, and the Oakville Centennial Committee indicate date variations from 1860 until the early 1880s as Oakville’s true origins. At that time the closest thing to a government was Oakville’s own Farmer’s Club.
Where members of the community could receive social welfare assistance, which included assistance selling their produce and getting higher prices on products required for local farms. One organization to predate the Oakville Club is that of the Utica, New York, Farmers. It wasn’t until April 5, 1874, which Oakville officially adopted a bylaw and constitution.
Their Meeting Hall was at the intersection of Yaeger and Telegraph Roads, where the Handyman Hardware Store is now located. A popular site for social events, political rallies, wedding parties, and other special occasions. In fact, it’s the place in which Arthur Rhomberg and Evelyn Getner held their wedding reception and the same establishment that caught on fire during February 1944.
The fire began within the roof and 1st-floor rafters. Helping to salvage what they could, started tossing items out of the broken stockroom window. Beginning with wedding gifts, most of which were damaged in the process and others had been burnt to a crisp. But, the happy couple stayed in good spirits despite their heated affair. Rhomberg’s wedding reception is going down in history as part of Oakville’s unwritten origins and the reason for Nottelman’s personal effort of restoring the community’s overdue historic writings.
