like 3 months in, lance says i love you first. he tells keith over a video call, after rambling on about his day. keith was listening with such attention, his expression all melty and sweet and lance just says it because he cant help himself. hes never felt so special to someone, and “i love you” has never felt so right. so he just blurts it out as he is taking in keiths expression and keith IMMEDIATELY says it back, he’s like “ive loved you since the second i saw you” and they both become so freakin giddy and lance is laughing because what is his life. how did one delayed flight change his world so much. he is like “keith i have GOT to kiss ur stupid handsome face asap” and so two weeks later, they are making out on the couch in lance’s apartment with wild abandon lol they are insatiable.

keith immediately goes ring shopping after he gets home from that weekend. he doesnt tell anyone except shiro because he feels like people will think hes crazy but the only thing hes crazy about is lance 😩💘
