Hey, actually! Tumblr's an international community of varied interests, maybe one of you guys'll know!
About four or five years ago now, I got a loaf of bread from a bakery in a train station in Germany (I wanna say... Munich maybe?)
It had seeds and pistachios in it, and the bakery had put dried honeysuckle and parsley and rose petals on top. I think it might have been a rye or mixed grain, but I'm not certain on that.
Does anyone know what that type of bread is called, or where I can find a recipe?
EDIT: @ikchen found a recipe for it, and @sloth-grammar found the actual one on the bakery's website! thank you both so much for your help! if anyone else is interested, this is the specific bread, and here's a recipe someone made to mimic it!

Hi!
I have no real intention, I was just surprised to see your url on my dash. Not that I know you, just that I really didn't know there was an actual Egyptologist on this site.
Sorry, I'm a little flustered right now. I wanted so bad to be an Egyptologist when I was a kid. It was my first dream. I used to, and still do love Egypt in all it's ancient glory.
That's it. I just wanted to say that.
Hello! I’m glad you’ve found joy in the same thing as me. There are also several Egyptologists on this site! @rudjedet @ikchen @somecunttookmyurl @thewanderingarchaeologist @23-tiny-wishes to name just a few!

Do you have book recommendations about New Kingdom? If you do thank you for your time, if you don't sorry about bothering you
New Kingdom in general? Not really. Joyce Tyldesley's "Egypt's Golden Empire" is solid for a book written for the public though.
But Amenhotep III is my BOY so I love "Perspectives on his reign" by O'Connor (find a pdf it's expensive as most specific academic books tend to be because they get one print run of like 1000 copies and banish forever) l

Internet mob and hacking
Last Friday the gang of tumblr egyptologists have announced through the account of the most unhinged among them -somecunttookmyurl- essentially that they have stolen my IP, obviously through hacking.
At least five persons active on this site (somecunttookmyurl, rudjedet, thatlittleegyptologist, ikchen, silverdragon98) have shared till now my IP, in order to “hard block” me from their blogs. When I say “hard block”, I mean that, when I try to visit their blogs after having logged out from tumblr, something that I have the right to do given that their accounts are public and they often refer there to my person, I am redirected to pages with insulting messages for me.
Moreover, before this “hard block”, I saw that they had started to publish on somecuntookmyurl’s blog information about me and data showing that they are able to monitor my computer activity. I don’t know how far they have managed to go with these spying efforts.
Now, IP hacking and internet spying are not funny things. A stolen IP can be used for illegal or even criminal activities. It can also be used to damage the computer whose IP has been stolen.
Of course I consider the tumblr egyptologists (mainly somecunttookmyurl, thatlittleegyptologist, rudjedet, ikchen, and their acolyte silverdragon98, who have shared my IP, but also 23-tiny-wishes, who is active member of the gang) to be responsible for any such or other incident which would happen with my IP or my computer or with my personal data, which could have been stolen from my computer.
Moreover, it is clear to me that, to achieve all this, they have collaborated with a person with some experience in such illegal activities, and this makes things even more serious. If the tumblr egyptologists are moved mainly by their pathological hatred and obsessions against me, I don’t know what agendas their collaborator may pursue and what he would try to do with my stolen IP and my computer.
Another aspect is that somecunttookmyurl  (the “honey-coated” tumblr egyptologist) is, according to her own page, not only psychotic, but also a drug user, and both she and her Dutch friend rudjedet (with whom she shared my IP) complain often on tumblr that they lack money and beg their friends and followers to “donate”.
I don’t know how persons like them would try to use my stolen IP and to monetize it.
All these are things that I will start to clarify tomorrow, with the help of the most competent persons in these matters.

@ikchen I don’t know exactly how big the whole apartment is. The living room/kitchen area is actually quite spacious now that I think about it. The bedrooms are on the smaller side, but still big enough for a double bed, or a single bed and a little desk. I’m guessing they’re about 12 to 14m2. I’m mostly excited about designing my own bedroom because I love cosy rooms.

I've found several mentions that hieroglyphic signs had "standard" colors that were used in more elaborate inscriptions, which meant that e.g. the ꜣ-bird and the tjw-bird could be distinguished by color as well as shape. But I haven't been able to find a good reference on this. Was there really a standard for these things, or was it just up to the whims of whoever was making the inscription and what they thought would look best?
Yes, they did have colours. The two birds you mention should be easily distinguishable without colours, it's usually the shape of their tails that tells them apart. Anyway, Hieroglyphs, when painted, in most instances will be black on white/another background colour (cheapest and easiest). The only time I've ever seen them in colour is on royal monuments, tombs of nobles, or in temples (maybe a few OK stele when painting was more popular?) and this may be key to understanding what's going on.
From looking about myself, and asking a couple of the others, an Egyptologist named Wolfgand Schenkel has written on colour theory in both 1963 and 2016. I'm reading an article by David Warburton from 2008 (The Theoretical Implications of Egyptian Colour Vocabulary for Anthropological and Cognitive Theory), which you can find free on researchgate, that says the Egyptians used 4 colours: black, white, red-yellow-brown, and blue-green (so labelled because the Egyptians did not make distinctions between certain colours), though Schenkel's 2007 update made further distinctions between the red-yellow and the blue-green arguing that they were separate colours for the Egyptians.
Anyway, green/blue is used for living things like plants, red/brown/yellow for people and birds, black for detail, and white for the background/detail. I'm not sure this was a hard and fast rule, but certainly in general this is how things look. If we take a look at this section from Seti's tomb:
Tumblr media
You can see the birds and animals are in yellow and green but outlined in red, plant life/natural fibres (like the basket) are also in green, the bread loaf...is green (sometimes they're blue idk why this is), and there are some parts of the human body on here that are in the red/brown. Other signs are red/brown, but I can't really give an explanation for that since this isn't my area.
This image from the tomb of Queen Nefertari also follows the same colour combinations for signs:
Tumblr media
[id in alt of both pictures]
You can see the signs around her are blue/green for natural things or things made out of natural fibres, red for the sun/human parts/land, yellow for animals etc etc.
Now both of these are New Kingdom examples, and to see if this is the same across several time periods (which I suspect it is) is more than I'm willing to do for a simple Tumblr ask, but I hope I've at least answered your question. @ikchen, who has done work on this sort of thing, will likely be along soon with a much better explanation for why these colours exist in the ways they do.

@ikchen Pants/long sleeves do keep me from scratching a little bit but the itch gets so irritating I can’t help but obsess over it. Wearing a lot of clothing also helps with my sunlight allergy, but aggravates my sweat allergy.
(Writing this it really feels like my body is a design flaw.)
