just want to start by saying sorry it took me eighty five yrs to even post this thats super my bad hahaha

this basically explains how yuichi lost his markings and came to run away from his family, i just did this little comparison drawing of when he's a kid (age 11) to when he's a little older (age 17) and then word vommed everything i could into two pages HAHAHA

Heyo! Any advice on struggling to get your art seen in the world? I feel like no matter how much I post, or what I post, people never see it or seem to like it. I love art and am pursuing it as a career (hence why Im getting a degree in it currently lmao) but its kind of disheartening to work really hard on something, post it, and no one sees it.

oh, man. i'm afraid for this one i don't feel like i have a lot of solid advice. having a large-ish following online feels like something that kind of just, like, Happened to me, mostly on accident/in ways outside of my control, and even if i had some ideas on how to potentially replicate those gains i don't think they'd work consistently. (also, a lot of my large jumps in follower count came from mental health related work going viral bc it's #relatable; this is something i have complicated feelings about and it's absolutely not a viable, like, "strategy" or something that i would recommend, in the way that ppl can say like, "fanart gets attention!" or stuff like that.)

so, i don't have advice for how to actually GET those eyes on your art; i can maybe help with making ppl more likely to STAY once they do find you, and how to build a following that will actually help you maintain a living from your work -- bc i have TONS of peers w a following a fraction of the size of mine who get more jobs than me, are doing cooler/more "professional" stuff than me, etc! (heads up that most of my experience is on twitter; i know less than nothing about places like instagram + tiktok, and while tumblr functions very differently from twitter i feel like i handle things mostly the same here, aside from doing less personal posting/being less talkative and not 'networking' or following many people).

SCROLLING BACK UP TO ADD A SPOILER ALERT: AS ALWAYS I HAVE SAID "HAHA IDK I DON'T REALLY HAVE ANY ADVICE" AND THEN PROCEEDED TO TYPE A FULL ESSAY. IF YOU ARE ON DESKTOP YOU CAN HIT THE 'J' KEY TO SKIP THIS POST. IF YOU'RE ON MOBILE, I'M SORRY

a very important thing, especially professionally: it HAS to be easy to see what you do. (this is easier here on tumblr, where u can have a designated art tag etc, than on twitter, which is an awful website that sucks. <- guy who makes all his money on twitter) this means, like -- if i see something from you and get curious and click your profile, it should only take one more click to quickly see at least SOME of your art. on a professional account, it's probably best for your icon to be your own work, something snappy and memorable and eye-catching that reads well at a small size; people shouldn't have to dig for 20 minutes before they can start browsing your art. on twitter, this means TRY not to gunk up your media tab with a ton of reaction images/screencaps of your gacha pulls/etc; on here, it means make your art tag easy to find; on any website, a portfolio link, prominently displayed, is the best bet. (i am still working on that one myself lmao and i've been working professionally full time for a few years now so like, there are outliers and wiggle room on all of this).

next! it's great when your audience finds you, but you have to find them, too. find artists who do similar stuff to you and get into their stuff -- sincerely, not just as "networking." (like only do this with ppl whose stuff you actually think is cool, not just trying to get in mutuals with everyone you see in hopes of a bump, obviously.) get interested in other indie artists, find the people who are working/publishing in the spaces that are exciting and aspirational for you, and support them! i don't want it to sound cynical when i say there's a kind of give-and-take built into this; the point is not "well, if i reblog/retweet a bunch of YOUR stuff, maybe you'll feel obligated to boost mine in return," but that when you find other artists/creatives who are on the same wavelength as you, you will naturally stumble into pools of people who want to support art like yours, and you and your newfound peers will help each other when you hype each other's stuff up and direct followers to each other! (again re: things going differently on dif websites: this is twitter-specific for me, bc i use my tumblr as a gallery/portfolio. that doesn't mean it doesn't happen here tho! it can and does happen everywhere!)

it is really not a competition. i know that SOMETIMES it is in like, a really nitty-gritty numbers sense; people only have so much money to spare, they will make choices about whose patreon they can afford/what comic to buy/etc, that's true. but to me that's not competition. people who are sincerely into your stuff will hang on until they can afford it; maybe that means someone follows you for two whole years before the planets align and they have the budget/opportunity to commission you. by hanging out in similar circles you are not taking potential business or opportunities away from anyone else, nor are you risking leading your own audience to Someone They'll Like Better; you're just offering more options, and the internet is VAST and endless, and EVENTUALLY people will show up who are into YOUR STUFF, SPECIFICALLY. helping each other is never going to stifle or delay that!!

and my final chunk of advice is the one i give constantly that everyone is probably super sick of hearing but i just seriously seriously believe in it, even tho i know it's slow to pay off and hard to follow: keep doing exactly what you want to. keep doing it!!! you have to!!! yes, i mean the stuff that's getting like, 2 likes and 0 reblogs! the stuff that 'nobody likes!'

earlier i mentioned i have gotten big follower bumps from like adhd comics and stuff like that going viral. the thing is that, from a professional standpoint: my follower count has like, more than quintupled from where it was at a few years ago; my patreon income has absolutely NOT quintupled lmfao. it has less than doubled, over that same period of like... i wanna say over 4 years. that's still good, i'm grateful for it, and i owe a lot of it to the sheer numbers game (the more ppl see ur work, the more likely it is you'll reach someone who decides to support you), but there is absolutely not an actual direct correlation between numbers and career success/stability.

where there IS a direct correlation is between "people who give a shit about the art i really truly love making" and "people who like my art enough to support me professionally." HUGE chunks of the followers i get any time something goes viral slough off over time; there's nothing wrong with that, they just follow me bc something was funny/interesting and end up realizing my work's not actually their thing. but the ppl who follow me bc they're into all the stuff i post most consistently, the stuff i care about and am passionate about, stick around. and i would not have found them if i wasn't posting the shit i care about!

out there there are people who will be 100% crazy about the stuff that is 100% what you want to make. it's like actually statistically impossible for there not to be. the more niche your thing is, the longer it will take to find them, but they absolutely exist. but if you give up before you find them -- if you start saying, "well, i'll put in 50% of this idea that i love, but the other 50% is too weird and nobody's gonna like it and it'll flop" -- well, in that case, you can only ever find the ppl who are 50% into what you do. don't fuck yourself like that!! you cannot deny yourself the possibility (the INEVITABILITY!!! IMO!!!!!) of finding the people who will 100% get what you're doing.

so: on a pragmatic level, i'm sure there will be ppl who disagree with me on this, and who think it's absolutely mandatory to do fanart as a crowd draw or learn about algorithms and posting times and get on tiktok and do the visibility grind and everything and that it's stupid and irresponsible to tell people not to. i'm sure it's also easy to point out that i'm speaking from a place where i now have more eyes on my stuff than i know what to fucking do with so maybe i'm just totally out of touch and being naive or something. but for me the most important part of doing art now, ESPECIALLY as a career, is to keep loving it and to believe in what i'm doing and to build an audience that cares about the same things i do. and i think it is really really vital to make that your top priority. bc if you don't, then even if you DO crack the code to suddenly getting tons of notes on everything etc -- will you even keep wanting to do it?

this job is hard. it's lonely, in my experience; i spend so much time sitting in front of my computer alone. it's unstable, which is stressful and can be frightening. it's emotionally taxing, for me, because art is so important to me that it's hard to set boundaries and separate my identity from it and actually treat it like a job. it has taken me a long time to find success doing this; maybe i could have gotten there faster if i had tried to find ways to draw an audience specifically, but i think if i had somehow managed to get a big patreon following/tons of commissioners/etc by doing something formulaic or doing stuff that specifically gets tons of attention, but isn't what's natural for me -- i don't think i would have lasted very long that way. this is already hard and complicated enough; i don't think it's sustainable to give up any unnecessary ground on doing exactly what you're passionate about, bc at least in my case, that's mandatory for this even being a livable career for me. i would burn out and decide to do something else very quickly if the only way to succeed was to chase numbers/engagement.

doing it this way is very slow. if i hadn't been able to lean on family/my wife while starting up, i would have had to have a day job for much longer (like, years, probably) while saving up and preparing to go full time; for as long as you struggle to get traction, it may mean going full time has to be on the backburner. but the thing is that there's nothing wrong with that, it's the reality for the vast majority of us (from what i've seen) -- and you'll eventually build a career that can last way longer, i think.

okay oh my god i'm done. sorry about that. like i said this job is pretty lonely and i sit here all day and think about this stuff and then generally do not talk about it with anyone until somebody asks me about it and then i repeat myself at length again. like i did here. anyway have a good night sincerely and i hope some part of this was helpful!!!

I wanted to ask you something, reading your posts, I really liked what you say about Munch, I wanted to ask you some curiosities about them that you have in mind - Ex: What do they like to do in their spare time? What hobbies do you think they would develop? Would they be the type to go on family outings with Dot and Scotty? What do you think? I loved your headcanons about them, Munch could go to a therapist, to better deal with themselves and their surroundings :D How do you imagine them adapting to technology? Using mobile phones ? Learning to use computers ?

ahh i love these questions thank you 🥹 answers under the cut:

munch is 110% a bookworm. reads quickly but voraciously, no preference between fiction & nonfiction, but you will see him more often with the latter.

for more hands-on hobbies, probably knitting at first. he clearly knew how to sew before meeting the lyons so this just gives him an outlet completely divorced from survival techniques. he gets super blushy & smiley when he completes his first sweater for scotty.

i think he'd love to go on family outings, but depending on where they're going, it'd be tough for him to illustrate his boundaries & fears. im thinking more along the lines of county fairs, amusement parks, farmers' markets, & basically anything with huge volumes of people combined with constant noise. i dont think he'd be one for amusement park rides at all, but thats ok bc i totally see dot as the one who goes with scotty on everything, while he & wayne wait behind like the worrywarts they are. i think he'd be good at the carnival games, though. like if scotty wants a big teddy bear he'll be like "ugh fine" & then john wick his way through the shooting games. im not sure about others where he'd be the complete center of attention, like the strength mallet thing, even though he'd get a ridiculous score since i think he's a lot stronger than he looks.

one of the first things dot gets him to help him adjust is noise-cancelling earplugs, which are especially necessary since munch doesn't react well to music or electronic visual media so irt scotty playing video games i dont think he'd have any idea what he's looking at. if he finds the willpower to sit through a movie, subtitles are an absolute must, & even then i think he can only handle old movies for a while since they aren't as demanding on the senses as contemporary cinema.

i dont think munch would go to a therapist, or that the lyons would want him to anyway, being that his bond with dot is bone-deep and, for lack of a better term, supernatural. modern medicine is just not equipped to handle a 500 year old living body that's presumably developed immunities/resistances well beyond the limits of a normal human. dot & munch learn to heal while in each other's company simply because they are the only other person on earth like the other. obviously dot is not a sin vampire but its my headcanon that she & munch share a strong psychic bond, too.

aside from the basics he learned as a hitman (operating vehicles, using phones), i dont see modern technology having any place in munch's life. its not that he can't learn how to use it, but he doesn't see how it would add or subtract anything to the way he lives. i think at most he'd have like a basic smartphone to keep in contact with the lyons, but its strictly a phone & not a multimedia platform.

i at no point have backtracked???? you guys have to calm down and like either read the words i’m typing or accept you’re just dying to scold me for some reason and to stop engaging. like i know a disconcerting amount of you are zionists hanging around to just randomly accuse me of antisemitism (there’s a reason i haven’t been publishing those over the last few weeks lmao) but if someone comes to me and says “what is your reaction to this stuff i’ve been seeing” and i say “idk i haven’t been seeing any of that, here is my reaction to what i HAVE been seeing” and i get like six more people saying “no actually we have been seeing this stuff and if you don’t more obviously say you don’t Love Osama Bin Laden then we’re going to assume you love antisemtism!!!” then obviously my first reaction is going to be like. well damn i didn’t realize you guys were seeing this, i better get rid of an upsetting response i made off the cuff based on different information, and apologize for upsetting anyone by the disconnect.

but then the most recent post i recently reblogged is about the VERY SPECIFIC PHENOMENON we’re all currently discussing, where overnight, a prominent grifter twitter journalist wrote about a “viral” tiktok trend where the youth are apparently “praising” a terrorist which again. from the beginning, i have said i have not seen evidence of myself (which is true!!). and if you take a second to step back and ask yourself why on earth this would happen out of nowhere and be reported on like it’s a sweeping trend taking hold of america’s youth (after like 24 hours), on a platform that for weeks i have seen literally only videos from/by young palestinians and young jewish people educating their peers and others…. then maybe those videos are not truthful and organic thoughts from real people.

idk why it’s easier to believe that a platform that has been a huge source of information for the palestinian cause in a way that zionists and other invested groups cannot control is, i cannot emphasize this enough, OVERNIGHT filled with kids who have decided after reading one letter (that has been PULLED by the website citing this specific trend!!) that they love the thoughts of osama bin laden…. rather than accepting that our disdain for both tiktok as a resource and young people as a general group makes us accept that insane idea much more easily than we normally would!!!

i think that young people are capable of rational thought! i also know that writing about tiktok as a breeding ground for concerning trends/incomprehensible viral videos is a sure fire way to get everyone up in arms in a way that i don’t accept as reality! i also know that this whole thing has probably been very concerning for jewish people who don’t want to see antisemitic bigoted hateful vile people given a platform. but what i’m saying and what that post is saying is that insofar as these videos of kids apparently being “on board” with osama exist and are being spread (again. i personally have not seen a single one, so my original post is deleted was not reacting to this type of video) are very likely being created/spread with the intent to discredit tiktok as a platform and bury legitimately educational content.

if all you take from this is that i ❤️ antisemitic conspiracies then fine, i feel like i’ve been clear and at this point engaging further feels like adding fuel to a fire i don’t have any interest in spreading. if anyone feels like im being ignorant and wants to talk to me about it im obviously always open but this particular line of questioning? ive made myself clear and im not buying into the hysteria. young people are, in larger numbers than i have ever seen in my lifetime, mobilizing in their schools and cities and local government to make their voices heard and pressure their politicians for change, every day i see extremely brave people on my tiktok both spreading information and doing their best to get educated responsibly, and my attention and energy is with those kids, not with a likely manufactured hysteria over terrorist lovers that i haven’t seen myself at any point.

Im probably gonna get a lot of hate. Im probably gonna get death threats in my ask box (again. Yes Im looking at you "kill the soldiers" anon. Speaking of which, anon will be OFF until this post stops getting notifs. Block me if you don't want to see any other opinions than you own, because I'm allowed to have them.)

But we do NOT need to send death threats, things with smutty themes, etc. Into a celebrities ask box all because they're gonna be on this site.

They're people just as much as we are. If you don't like them, theres a handy-dandy feature called "blocking and moving on". Not writing rude messages. Not saying "Blazing a post is a pvp attack". (Because god forbid an artist use a feature to be seen)

I understand not wanting big corps to make their way on Tumblr. Believe me, I do. However Tumblr's advertising (or at least on mobile) is easilly skippable/you can scroll past or actually look at the ad if its somewhat interesting.

Also, Tumblr sells shoelaces for 19 dollars. That should only be like three dollars, but it shows that it really does need the money. (@indigoartistqueen mentioned that, along with other various things in this article) Such as paying programmers to create new features. Paying artists to create new logos and themes. paying the employees that check out the reports. (which I am rlly sorry for them bc I just so happen to keep finding really rude comments or things shipping an 8 year old with an 1000 year old.)

So, if tumblr got a little more money, then merch will cost less. Features will cost less. You can crab someone for less for goodness sakes. (Speaking if which, if you REALLY hate a celeb that badly, run them off with crabs.) But tumblr, just like any other site and app, NEEDS money to keep it running.

Also, don't you think SOME form of algorithm will be good? Or at least better search results? Because artists do tend to use very different tags. (Like memes, funny, lmao, lol, etc.) All that could be grouped under "Funny" so that people can actually find and search for their content easier.

Not to mention that with the way the tumblr staff are, I highly doubt they're gonna be implementing things that will cause a riot from their supporters, like the algorithm, bc the blogs ARE the algorythm, reblogging stuff they like to spread it out.

But just a better tagging system! i myself have stopped posting art as much because I just DON'T get seen! People just don't like or reblog my work, but if I were to blaze it, I would suddenly have 1,000 notes full of threats and "this is a pvp attack. Everybody block on sight."

Now, getting back to the celebrity thing. So many people have said that they don't want any political opinions to divide this site. Well I'd hate to break it to you, but we have, in some form, a type of political dispute. Usually its over the type of view one should have on a fiction character. How you can interpret them. What headcanons are correct. Which fandoms better. Which characters hotter. I could go on over the disputes! Plus the political side of tumblr! Science side of tumblr! Religous site on tumblr!

It never ends! If you don't like a celebrity, DON'T SEND DEATH THREATS TO THEIR ASK BOX! Some will actually commit it! Instead, BLOCK. THEM. It's easy! Don't pay attention to it! Just block them. If you really don't like them, send a cursed image, like I don't know, Patrick Star in stripper heels! A perfect circle thats slightly off! Do NOT send threats, because they're humans just like you! (Or as a Fairy myself, xenogenders as well)

Point is, quit trying to run celebrities off this site all because you're afraid of contriversal opinions that you don't agree with! Just block them! It's there for a reason! It's not like roblox where you can only block 100 people total!

Use the block feature. Don't fight fire with fire. It will ONLY get worse. You don't see firemen using flamethrowers, do you??? No! Please for the LOVE OF WHOEVER OR WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE IN quit spreading hate! It only makes things worse! You're only making yourself worse! Just because tumblr is an anonymous site does not mean you can do whatever you want... Because guess what? There's other humans right behind that post you just saw! (Unless its a bot ofc, that's a different story for another time)

for the mobile port, it’s pretty much the same as listed below except you’re navigating through your phone files. the creator posted videos of how to do it, just scroll down on the link to the og post

now if you want to use it on the PC port of bedrock, you need to extract the zip file via either 7zip or winrar (i personally use winrar), and drop it into the “com.mojang” folder. which if you can’t find it you can navigate it via..

Local (you can find it via typing in %appdata% on your windows searchbar, and backing out of the Roaming folder) > Packages > Microsoft.MinecraftUWE_8wekyb3d8bbwe > LocalState > games > com.mojang

from there you drop the BP and RP packs into behavior_packs and resource_packs respectively, boot up minecraft, apply both to your world and there you go! madness is now real.

EIGHTH/NINTH GRADE DANDI??? soooo like-- fuck. i graduated high school in 2010 so like 2007/2008 ish? sure, let’s go with that. i’ve been around the block. rped both on tumblr and off. & i have a bachelors in english literature aka a fancy $40K paper that says i can write.

best experience. oh shiiit. i mean.. there really have been a lot over the years! i have friends i’ve met irl from rp when they came to the east coast! i’ve been in fandoms where it was just such a sweet and family vibe until some sort of choas always ensued, but the happy times in the inuyasha rpc or rwby & fairy tail rpcs here was fun. honestly?? now? i feel like there at times will always be some kinda drama on the dash, tbh. but the friends i’ve made / have now at this point in my life? i am just having a great time! :)

rp pet peeves / dealbreakers. i mean drama, negativity, sure. but-- constant pestering is kinda big for me. i work on an average of about 46 hours a week. and my job can be stressful. i am SLOW with messages on discord and responses/asks/replies. so, constant asking for threads / asks does get under my skin because then rp feels like it’s part of my job & it’s not. this is a way for me to de-stress & relax, so please don’t be that guy :tm: i’ll get to it when i can. i think another that also tends to bother me is i’ve told you once, i shouldn’t have to say it again. & that’s irl too. like if you know the answer, why ask again? idk-- and i digress. jsadhfb;l

fluff, angst, or smut. fluff & angst more than the nasty. & obviously the nasty is with of age muses only, but that just needs a whole level of comfort from me that i will not have with each mun when we just start writing. i mean that goes for all shippy things and such, like the chemistry has to be there for me. but, i’d need to be comfortable with the mun too. & the nasty is like super rare so i don’t even know why i’ve typed all this on it, oops.

plots or memes. honestly, i like both!! sometimes with multiple muses (which i have, have you seen my gdoc?! who am i-- ajskdnbf) it’s just easier to plot! because then i have something to look forwards to with a lot of different characters, plus it gives me more ideas when doing starters / asks. but winging it? hey, sometimes that’s the best way!

long or short replies. sdflgjksfd;gl/ if you cannot tell by the size of this freaking thing, idk what to tell you. my replies can get lengthy! esp. if i am super into the thread / character interactions, etc! i mean i do try and post shorter things, but more often than not they tend to be on the longer side. my characters are all over thinkers, sorry lmao. but i always say to my partners not to feel obligated to match if it does get long!

best time to write. god... whenever i have the free time? a lot of times i write asks on mobile at work and then answer them in the ask, but i’ll always mobile tag it and usually only do that with asks i think won’t be turned into threads! other times it’s usually after work or on a weekend if i have some free time there.

are you like your muse. i think we put a little of ourselves into each muse we write, i know i do, for sure. but the muses that are probably most similar to me would beee: lucy heartfilia & ochako uraraka. :3

Why are you being such an elitist about art? It should be a good thing that visual art is becoming more accessible thanks to AI

I dont think im being elitist at all. Ai art is new and the topic is nuanced but I don't think artists getting upset about ai generated images taking over platforms, and now artists spaces, is elitist? When most of our livelihoods are at stake here... this is ignoring the additional issue of these programs stealing actual art to create these images.

I know that there are some people who are creating programs for their own use (I seen one saying doing their best "ethically"...) which is a different conversation. Like if you crafted the program yourself for your work. And somehow it's not taking from other artists. Then I can see it being your art...?

I don't mean this cruelly, but typing words onto these generators is not making art in my opinion. And we could somehow argue that, like the earlier post, he spliced together generated images to make it "original" or "his own" (but... 😐 come on.) But to do so an article stated he used photoshop, which is a paid for program that you also need to learn how to use, so i question how it's more "accessible"? (I'm not trying to sound sarcastic, it's hard to indicate tone through text...) paper and pen/pencil is more accessible monetarily. There are mobility aids for many mediums, if that's what you mean by accessible? Or do you mean like, "anybody can create beautiful art instantly, regardless if they know how to draw/paint/design" through ai generation? Because that's not how art works !!! Art is thoughtful, a process, a learned skill... typing in keywords is not the same. If money is not an issue, you might as well type in keywords into an artists commission form. The result will have substance that way, at least.

Art is communication, whether you're trying to convey deep feelings or "hey aren't flowers pretty? :^)", typing promts into ai just not the same to me. And it's frustrating to watch artists who put work, love, thought, years/months/weeks into crafting their skill to get pushed to the side by an image made by a computer (like literally a computer. This is what people used to think digital art was lmao) unless you put the hours into changing them to "make it your own", isn't ai art more of a result than a medium? Does that make sense? And then if you're putting hours into doing so (still ignoring the stolen art part) how is that more accessible than just crafting your own skill?

Artists using ai generated images to create thumbnails is another topic, and even more so trying to get into *why* artists have started using it to do so to begin with, but I don't think that makes them any less of an artist.

So I don't really see how I'm being elitist. And I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings with my opinions, but as an artist it's scary to see stuff like that. If you're an artist and don't care that's fine but it doesn't make me/my opinion elitist...? I understand there's nuance, and while I'm sure I'm missing some information it's too difficult for me to understand how ai "art", at its default, is actual art, and thus more accessible.

i really want to know what they're mad about. im not even upset, because 1) im not intimidated by anons, and 2) "i hope you get hit with a gardening hoe" is a weird threat and only makes me think of minecraft.

my only guesses thus far are:

someone from a previous blog holding a grudge over something (since im starting the process lately of posting noticing on the previous ones saying i moved here, and will deleting the old ones soon)

someone who saw the dni in the pinned and immediately fell into a comical fit of rage at my tl;dr "people into pedophilia or incest are given no quarter here" thing

someone who sent a very weird ask to the wrong blog and can't admit to it

someone who got bored and went "i want to cause problems on purpose today" and thought of the weirdest violent scenario that they could

i do know it's probably someone on app/mobile, because as far as statcounter claims, nobody's been on my desktop ask page in the last day or so. and if nobody shows, that usually means the asks aren't coming from a browser.

I honestly really wanna know what their mad about too, like what’s a anon death threat gonna do realistically? Other then make them look like they went into a blind fit of rage and started typing on their keyboard. They give off the impression they just wanna start shit and are possibly jealous for one reason or another

○ best experience: I’ve been so so so lucky in that I’ve met so many amazing people that I have created such cool characters and stories with as well as created lovely friendships that I cherish so so much & am still writing with some over a decade later! I was lucky enough to have ships with @paramcur that went through so much character developments and struggles(ic and ooc lmao) and created so many cool threads and storylines that i’m so grateful for & i’ll never be able to thank her enough for uwu ily deokseok forever

○ rp pet peeves / dealbreakers: a pet peeve is def godmodding & metagaming, but it doesnt happen as much as it used to in circa 2011. I’ve only really had it happen once or twice but it’s just... grrrr. As for dealbreakers, ooc drama and bullying is a hard no for me. I’ve been bullied out of rpgs and had people I love and adore be bullied off the site for mistakes they made in the past. People forget that this is supposed to be a fun and creative outlet and instead let their petty childish grudges get the best of them and it’s sad that no one is allowed to learn from their mistakes and it always just turns into a witch hunt

○ fluff, angst, or smut: I do have to say I prefer angst & fluff over smut, esp since most of my muses have horror elements interwoven in them in some shape or form. I’ve written smut (shivers) in the past but when it comes to the hankypanky for my muses i tend to prefer fade to black or just alluding to it. i’m asexual so personally its hard for me to have muse for smutty things but its just a personal preference so that we are all comfy and i’m not giving you half-assed replies!

○ plots or memes: I love both!! But if I had to pick one, I’d say memes honestly. I love improv and rolling with the punches, since it’s a.) fun and b.) a good exercise for getting into muse mindset. I love brainstorming plots though, so both are entirely welcome!

○ best time to write: my answer’s gonna be confusing but i usually write at night, in bed on mobile and then format, queue, and/or post them in the mornings when I can proofread & fluff as necessary. but the bare bones of most replies are done at nighttime when i’m half asleep lol

○ are you like your muse(s): yes and no. some muses have a lot more elements of me than others, but I would honestly say there are parts of me in every muse I write. Even the ones that are nothing like me, I use people and experiences I’ve had to try and make them more believable! Since I write so many different types of characters I really try hard to make sure they’re each distinctive and not just copy & paste muses

shed be pretty affectionate! more physically than emotionally, but theres definitely both. i feel like her friendships would be important to her especially bc shes been pretty lonely for a lot of her life (especially in unreality - after her first death shes almost entirely isolated from people, other than the occasional unreality traveler or anon). but shed probably refrain from being so affectionate incase shes annoying or something - she wouldnt want to ruin something so important to her or make anybody mad.

🌹 How easy is it for them to connect with others and make friends? On the flip side how easy is it for them to make an enemy of someone? Are they the kind of person who hangs around the food table at a party and never talks to anyone or are they the type who can talk to anyone?

im not really sure..... but she has made more enemies/negative relationships than positive. i dont even know if she actually has a more positive than neutral/negative relationship. im so sorry girl lmfao

shed be the kind of person to just hang around, not really sure what to do/say. theres so many people... but shed probably try to start a conversation or something. in the past (like as a kid or teen) shed be totally up to talk to people. she does want to make friends but she saw the horrors so its a little hard

colors - likes warm/bright colors! dark colors arent really her thing though

textures - smooth and cool stuff is soooo nice. also fluffy things like teddy bears (happy teddy bear [the abno] enjoyer)! shed hate those like velvety textures. like fake velvet clothes or something?

music - she listens to vocaloid bc shes based and just like me fr. im never typing that out again

weather - likes quiter weather. more dangerous weather just scares her lmao

other - robot hater. finds the sephirot kinda fascinating but doesnt trust them at all, even if they were human before

homecooked stuff is always the best.. i dont think shed really mind what. its kinda hard to get specific stuff lol, but she would like saviry food over sweet stuff. she gets a liking for tea over time as a manager - as her first part of unreality hell, she mostly only gets tea lol. good thing shes immortal

What is your OC’s most hated food? Stuff they can’t stand to eat or drink?

i think shed like fruit but if theyre too different shed hate eating it. anything too sour just isnt her thing at all

librariessss. i think shed always go reading books as a kid out of curiosity. shed play coolmathgames on the computers. libraries are generally just a nice, safe place to be. especially since she spent a lot of time there as a kid, she remembers it fondly :)

Is there anywhere your OC hates to go to? Anywhere that stresses them out or have negative memories of?

unreality is a 50/50 'safe but on guard'/'GET ME OUT OF HERE'. she knows shes safe but is it where literally 99% of her trauma takes place lol. unreality is also hostile to people/life, but give it enough of yourself and it wont hurt you.

she has a lot of negative memories of it, with lots of deaths in many different places. shed be wary of like anywhere she goes, knowing anything could hurt her. she is very aware that shes weak, so she tries to compensate with vigilance, knowing when to run

animals. give her a cute cat or duck video she will go 'awwwwwweeeee!!!!!'. even as an arbiter she still likes animals. the only good things in the world (also very cute)

shes generally positive, trying to see the best in things, but as an arbiter she starts seeing things more negatively. she likes to make people happy and be a sort of light in the world.... but doesnt really care as an arbiter, kind of resigning herself, saying shes only a tiny part of the world and that shed make no true difference (also being an arbiter and fucking with people is fun). kind of edgy but like. after unreality hell itd make sense okay lmao

however like i said shed never hurt an animal. completely reverts into a positive mindset around a kitty cat

its easy to shock her. easily spooked no matter what lol. shes not very easily confused, though, and likes to think things through. lying to and manipulating her are harder, especially in the future/as an arbiter, bc she has like no trust for anyone. she trusts people to do their jobs and such but worries when it comes to relationships/personal things. shed like to think shes trustworthy! she can be trusted, but as time goes on she gets less and less trustworthy.

🍐 What is your OC’s mentality? Are they overall positive? Negative? A bit of both? Describe their thought patterns and reasoning behind their choice making!

like i said, overall positive. she tries to see the best in things and make good out of a situation, empowering herself to get through it.

she just doesnt trust the sephirah much at all so she takes what they say negatively, and tends to not really argue with people who talk badly about her, like "they have a point tbh". she doesnt want to be egocentric or only see herself positively. she tries to make choices that help everyone (and sometimes to gain peoples trust/prove shes a good person).

💧 What is the earliest memory your OC can recall? Do they know what their first words were or remember where they took their first steps? Do they have any mementos of their childhood they’ve kept such as a stuffed toy or tiny baby clothes?

idk what her earliest memory would be tbh.. but she has a good memory. she took her first steps at her own house (technically her parents but still lol). and her parents were SO proud and they recorded it and everything. she couldnt keep anything since she got put into a whole new dimension while at work so. kinda hard to keep anything

she was born in the nest, living a pretty good life there! youll never guess why she doesnt live there anymore. she hasnt moved much, but she did actually move a bit away to work at l corp. the nest is still her favorite place, its just normal place for once.

sun was such a happy baby. full of childlike wonder (amplified by being a child). she was a nice kid, but was also super curious and unafraid to be a menace. she only loses this partially as a teen. she had good parents so she basically learned to be a good person and stuff (pretend i know this part thanks). she kinda just misses her youth generally, especially just being innocent/not knowing things. she regrets not spending more time with her parents.

day, sun, winter. the day is just pretty tbh, sun > rain, and winter is super chill. you can make snowmen and snow angels and have hot chocolate. its awesome

hot chocolate/tea (but shes okay with coffee. not preferred though), spicy, fruits! shed be interested in trying spicy stuff tbh. and fruits are nice and sweet

her hairband is from her parents! it reminds her of them and makes her happy :)

she has a pretty good fashion sense, and likes wearing popular stuff, but sorta puts it off as a manager. she wouldnt care much about what to wear is she just wants to be comfy. for a party, shell put effort into dressing nicely though and wear a dress.

she has an X tattoo on the backside of each palm, and an X scar over her eye. these dont really have a canon meaning yet, theyre kinda just there bc shes the manager lol. though i do think the managers from her like.
