Matthias approached Tatya from behind, a sadistic smile growing on his face, "Good Morning! Miss Baudelaire!" the surgeon greeted, "Now, before you point a knife to my face, I'll make this very clear : I'm not going to hurt you this time, in fact, all I want is to ask you a few questions, how does that sound?"

Tatya jumps and swings around from her chair, where she was happily eating a pastry for breakfast in the dining room, crumbs still on her face. Her face shifts from one of shock to annoyance when she sees who has approached her.

"Hello, Matthias." She glares, wiping the leftover food from her face. "You have a habit of sneaking up behind me. At least there's no axe this time." Tatya rolls her eyes as she sits back down in the chair, facing him this time. The dancer is confident he won't try anything, not right now. The odds are stacked against him.

"You can ask me questions." She takes a bite out of an apple. "But I might not answer them. And I'm gonna ask you questions, too."

"M- Mr. Godfrey?" The blond spoke, standing in the doorway of the news reporters room holding a small red box with a ribbon around it. He seemed frightened, looking around the room rapidly with a flushed face and jittery legs. "I-.... um-.... chocolates- I, um, got you chocolates."

With shaky hands, he held out the box for the news reporter to take.

The American turns around seeing the guest that arrived, his hands motioning Nevi to come in gladly with a genuine excited grin.

"Welcome, delighted to see you here. What can I help you?" :)

Just as he asks that question, Nevi shows him the Red box of chocolates. What even surprised hum further is that Nevi made it clear that they’re for him specifically.

He blinks a bit in a way that he is pleasantly shocked, ---- smiling at the hunter counterpart with this big happy smile that seems to be radianting a lot--- before taking the box from his hands.

"Golly!" He asks as if not believing once tasting the chocolates. "Is this really for me, Mr. Linton? ... thank you." The blonde's features soften, chuckling. "What’s the occasion? There must be a catch~"

Laurence cannot remember if he did give something to Nevi on Valentine's-- but since White day is this month, he mentally noted to prepare something for him the next time they meet again. 🤭

"Ah, Laurence! Hello there-" LeRoy's sentence fell short just about as he was going to say the word 'partner'. His expression turned into one of confusion and concern when he was told the news of them no longer being able to be friends. "Why not? Did something happen?"

Thoughts and theories quickly swam through LeRoy's mind as he tried to remember any instances that this could have steamed from (going to get drinks maybe? He didn't remember getting that drunk). Snippets and pieces of the poem slowly piecing themselves together along the way.

Birds... A disappeared Sky...Bonds Severed by time...

Something suddenly clicked. Even more so as the reporter took on a pouty expression.

LeRoy blinked, a hearty laugh coming from him as his face flushed. Oh, what a silly news reporter he had. "Oh, Laurence! You had me scared there for a second. I thought I had accidentally done something to offend you." He lightly patted the other's back, a few small giggles still escaping him as he took a moment to fully collect his thoughts.

"Hm.... A thief, am I?" He hummed, pretending to debate on the topic for a while before continuing. A soft, yet teasing smile spread across their face as they spoke. "I suppose it would take one to know one. You are a bit of a thief of hearts as well! Maybe I was just trying to get back what you had already taken from me, hm?"

The manor echoes with the pained shrieks of a ghastly steed, one mounted by a hellish knight. For the innocent and faithful, he may be a hero in shining armor. To the rest, he may be little more than a demon. Regardless of the feelings of others, The Cavalier will do what must be done.

The Cavalier is the hunter identity of Amadeus LeClair, The Inquisitor, who has appeared on @ask-idv-shepherd. He is a 28 year old man who was trained since childhood to serve his church's will no matter what. To this end, he has struck a deal with a demon and rides the revived carcass of his horse, Fae. Typically, he is cold and rigid, but for a select few, his soft spots may show through.

External Traits:

Baphomet's Mark - Marked by his deal, The Cavalier spreads the curse to his own benefit. Whenever he strikes a survivor, the gain Baphomet's Mark if they do not have it already. If The Cavalier is stummed by any means, the stun time is split among himself and those who are marked. Marked Survivors lose the curse when this effect takes place.

Shapeshift:

0> Trusty Steed - Revived to serve her master, Fae remains loyal even now. The Cavalier may summon his steed to grant himself a 20% buff to movement speed, vaulting speed and pallet breaking speed. Swinging at survivors will end the ride regardless of whether or not it lands.

1000> Lookout - The Cavalier can designate a patrol route for Fae to follow. If Fae spots a survivor within 30 meters, she will call for her master and reveal the survivors aura for 3 seconds. Fae will continue to patrol until the patrol time has ended or The Cavalier uses Trusty Steed.

2500> Loyalty - The buffs granted by Trusty Steed are increased to 30%
