Niccals Headcanons because I’m losing my mind over here:

- Little kids crave attention and validation especially from distant parents, I like to think Murdoc and Hannibal use to have like sibling rivalries for their fathers attention and validation when they were younger. The most they got was a clap on the back but that was still something!

- Hannibal had that iconic “I hate the new baby!” phase. Especially since Murdoc was a surprise and bunking with Hannibal and y’know babies are loud and smelly 😞

- Murdoc was very late in his development and by that I mean he wasn’t talking or really walking at the proper ages since Sebastian really didn’t care enough. So I imagine 8 year old Hannibal sitting with Murdoc and trying to get him to talk. Or standing up and holding Murdoc’s hand to encourage him to stand. He got it eventually

- Speaking of first words I’m positive Murdoc’s was something provocative like “fuck” while Hannibal’s was more normal. Maybe Hannibal’s was “Dada” or something.

- Hannibal definitely self-pierced his ears and it got madly infected. Murdoc laughed at him.

- Hannibal cut his own hair growing up when he was about 10 and beyond and Murdoc thought it was the coolest thing ever.

- I’d like to imagine Hannibal when he first started getting into the punk scene in the 70s decided to give himself an undercut mullet and then later decided to buzz it. Was not the best look but when it grew back it was short and shaggy. 🤗

- Hannibal taught Murdoc to steal, smoke, gamble, argue, fight, ect.

- Hannibal didn’t nearly get smacked around as much as Murdoc since he was at his Mums for some of the time but he still had his fair share of black eyes from Sebastian.

- Hannibal had a little lisp when he was just a lad and probably got bullied and/or was told to knock it off that eventually he forced himself to fix it.

- Hannibal’s Mum was one smashing lady in the 50’s but I do think the pretty privilege went to her head a bit. Still she is in contact with Hannibal and while she is probably borderline verbally abusive she’s not one for major beatings so Hannibal probably honestly prefers her house.

- Hannibal didn’t do week on week offs with his Dad and Mum, Sebastian had main custody (not his choice) and Hannibal’s Mum would visit for birthdays and pick him up for occasional weekends and holiday celebrations.

- While both Murdoc and Hannibal definitely have mystery half-siblings from Sebastian I’d like to think Hannibal’s Mum remarried and maybe popped out 1 or 2 more babies. Hannibal has no real relationship with his half-siblings on his Mum’s side nor his step-father probably but he knows they exist. Dealing with one snot nosed brother is enough. 🙌

- I haven’t thought much on Murdoc’s Mum because I believe a big part of his character is lack of parental love but I will say that she was probably quite smitten towards Sebastian back in the mid 60’s. Being emotionally damaged I’m sure she got attached easily and felt conflicted when he finally showed his true colors. I can’t even begin to imagine the dilemma when she found out about Murdoc.

what do u think the st fandom is gonna be like after s5 drops and finishes.. like idk but I've just been wondering cuz this is the last time we're getting a new season 🤔 do you think it's gonna stick around or what? I noticed that usually after every season the fandom goes kinda radio silent after around a month but the fandoms still actually p active after s4 so. I wonder if the potential spin off is gonna keep the popularity up or even surpass it a la brba and better call saul(not that I think st is as good as those shows but I think they're both kinda iconic in their own ways)

i think stranger things will have a similar kinda legacy and impact as harry potter. the last movie came out in 2011 and its still a MASSIVE fandom and community that write, make fanart, make edits and gifs, collect merch, the whole shebang. the storys long done but the fandom has never died. i just went on ao3 and guess how many pages i had to go through just to reach a fic that came out more that two days ago….. TWENTY!!!!!???

stranger things is one of the only fandoms for a fictional media ive seen that is similar to the size and commitment of the harry potter fandom. i would say star wars also is a close comparison but a lot of people have mixed feelings about all the new ones (rightfully so honestly. daisy ridley slays but why the fuck did reylo kiss. thats not at all how you write enemies to lovers.) most star wars fans just love the classics like empire strikes back so the fandom isnt as strong as harry potter. and it doesnt really feel too much like a fandom in the same way that stranger things and harry potter do. i could go on about this but i’ll go back to my original point.

i dont think any passage of time will negatively affect the success of this show. you know how youve probably seen a bunch of iconic classic movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s that your family got you to watch? this will be the show of the 2010s that future generations will watch because their parents loved it. its not even that the show will go down in history, it already has!! its so cool to really look into how much of an impact this show has actually made. im really glad ive been able to witness it and have been watching the show since it first came out.

another thing that’ll probably keep this show iconic and new generations watching it is the kid actors. these are all of their first “big break”. theyre all probably gonna go on to play so many more iconic roles into their adulthood and eventually people will look at them in stranger things in the same way that we currently look at young winona ryder in beetlejuice. thats mad trippy to think about tho. in my head theyre all perpetually 14.

i think this fandom will always be active because there is just SO MUCH to talk about!!!! and this would be the case no matter what they ended up doing with the relationships and characters, but once byler is canon that’ll definitely play a huge role in keeping the fandom alive. people who have never seen the show will probably start watching it after they hear that the main characters are gay. no one will ever stop writing byler fics. people who really really love a specific couple or ship dont ever really lose interest. if you love the characters and love them together, that love never just goes away and people will ALWAYS want more content so theyll always love reading fics and seeing fanart. snowbaz is a good example of this. i read carry on when i was 16. i just turned 23 and i read snowbaz fanfiction all the fucking time. im currently reading one thats amazing and they update weekly and every monday i get so excited to read a story from characters that i was introduced to SEVEN YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!! that’ll probably be the same case for byler. and lumax too.

i think the spinoffs will definitely be talked about but i dont think theyll be the reason the fandom stays alive. i honestly kinda would rather it be more separate from the og stranger things. i hope its good and treated in the same way that fantastic beasts was treated and not the shitty new star wars movies. and you didnt ask this but i also have a hunch that the spinoff will be about kali.

to sum all that up, no i dont think this fandom will ever die. its so iconic.

Nadira (Shree 420, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai)— She had a blast playing the femme fatal in Indian films in the 50s. Also the costumes she wore in Shree 420 are absolutely iconic. It's important to mention that she was Jewish. She was born Farhad "Florence" Ezekiel in Baghdad to an Iraqi Jewish family. They moved to India sometime in the 1940s. The funny thing is that she originally wanted to convert to Catholicism and become a nun but joined the film industry instead as her family desperately needed money. Even though she was unfortunately typecast in femme fatale roles after playing the nightclub entertainer Maya in Shree 420, she always gave 110% to every role she was cast in. Things I'd like to see in my life time? well I did bring up a New Hope because I could live to see that enter the public Domain, I'd be in my 80s so it could happen. I'd love to see the end of the 95 year copyright, which would be the same year as Star Wars, in general I'd love for the law to change to something more reasonable because right now.... when the 95 year copyright term runs out we could be looking at works under copyright for well over 100 years, for example George Lucas is still alive if he died tomorrow by my math Empire would be under copyright till 2099, since he's a healthy (as far as I know) man in his late 70s he could live another 10 or 15 years (maybe even 20+) expending the term deep into the next century.

On Mickey Mouse, thats a tricky question. The Issue is the difference between Trademark and Copyright. Copyright is ownership of the whole idea in all contexts, while trademark is limited to images and words (or phrases) used for marketing. SO for example you could do a "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" style movie and have Mickey (and/or Minnie) show up. However Disney still holds/will hold the Trademark because those can be renewed endlessly, so you wouldn't be allowed to use his name in the title, or say his name in the trailers or any marketing. My question and I don't know is how much of the image do they own? could you use him in Steamboat Willie form? I would guess no, I think you'd be barred from using his image in marketing but I'd also guess you'd have a legal fight with Disney trying to use trademark as copyright.

in any case I think... there's a big big Disney community and I'd guess the first effect would be fan art and unofficial merchandise blowing up big time.

top 15? hmmm well I'll stick to stuff coming out in the near-ish future, I'm very unlikely under current laws to live to see Harry Potter become public, but that'd be a trip to see.

The Hobbit (1937): thankfully Elves and dwarfs were not made up by Tolkien so fantasy can basically steal his ideas freely but it's very clear we've all been playing in JRR's sandbox since at least The Lord of The Rings of not the Hobbit so releasing this out into the wild will be amazing also hobbits which he did make up (and also Ents, and the Uruk-hai) to finally be allowed to appear in all the fantasy literature that has elves and dwarfs.

The Wizard of Oz: Of course the original book by L. Frank Baum has been public for years and years and nothing stops any one from trying to make another one, and some have. See "The Wiz" and also "Wicked" but the 1939 movie remains a triumph and a huge piece of cultural history, I'm unsure what could be done with it, but you know

Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Captain America: I mean this should shock no one that this is something I want to see. But I think... Superman and Batman in particular are SUCH a universal part of our culture, you can stop randos on the street who have NEVER read a comic and say "what is Batman's name?" or Superman and they can answer, they can tell you Superman's powers. I think in terms of universally known and recognizable pieces of pop culture... I mean nothing else under copyright today is as big of a pop icon as they are they are as part of the basement of our popular imagination as Dracula, or Santa.

3 - favourite dr: 12! he's a space dad hes a punk rocker hes a fuckin icon and i love him. this is only partially correlated by that fact that he was the first i saw of the show, i think capaldi is a fucking fantastic performer and his version of the show is my favourite

12 - favourite romance involving a dr: oh i usually dont like them. i thought thasmin was good but the ending, though well executed, was nowhere NEAR as tragic and angsty and heartbreaking as i had expected so they could never live up to my expectations. like, the way they resolved it was interesting in that they chose not to resolve it, but. well. i have a lot of problems with it in terms of what it set up and how it seemed to be building towards SOMETHING. idk. anyway im a tenrose hater <3

20 - if u could change one thing about the show...: oh historical companions 100%. or just less of the 20something woman from a city in contemporary england generally. they should make a list of a bunch of countries, a bunch of backgrounds, a bunch of time periods, etc and just fuckin pick from a hat and they'd end up with something more interesting than 70% of the companions we've had in new who. also bring back the pure historical. also more horror stuff. also the convoluted series arc thing but limited to the SERIES and a mystery thats set up in the opener and pays off in the finale type thing not dragging it out for years. yes i know it said "one thing" but i ahve a lot of opinions <3
