im currently working on mapping all the regions in dai areas and each region is defined in one of three ways. the first two are the kind of thing id expect: some are simple rectangular prisms, which is very nice; some are a series of points connected in a loop, which is also fine and just a bit annoying because there can be a lot of points..

but shoutout to all the regions that are a SPHERE

#tütensuppe #we have Concluded that the format im working with resembles polar coordinates #so from there you can make cartesian coords! #unfortunately. now 2 of the coordinates are 2d. so you can no longer interpolate the energy over these coords. #you cant reduce these into a tuple of ranges anymore #so i opted for making separate interpolations for the coordinates. and now the gradient is hard.

I think in a year we'll look back at our time with Idol Land and think of it like a weird dream. A time when there wasn't a Pretty Series show announced and everything was in limbo. A time where King of Prism was a dead franchise. A time when songs were performed at Pretty Series live shows that wouldn't premier in the anime for years. The game teaser in every single Pretty Series announcement only for it to be delayed again. The YEARS long gap between episodes 2 and 3. The DISASTROUS launch. When we realized it was just a reskinned version of the switch game. Or when we discovered that it was mostly made by some unrelated dev who had only made one failed mobile otome game before Idol Land.

The Pretty Series' pivot to focusing on AiPri & KinPri instead of Idol Land & DanPri makes the past few years of Idol Land content, and the past less than a year of Idol Land actually being out, feel like an illusion.

It's frustrating because the concept of a PriPara mobile game sounds fantastic! When I play games like SIF2 or Idolish7 or whatever I think about what could have been. Was it money problems? or time problems? Or some combination of both. Regardless I can't help but yearn for a game with a budget that this franchise deserves.

And the web anime was great! But only 12 episodes, and its own budget problems, plus the games delay keeping it finished and in limbo for 2 years! (+ the lack of any western fansubs picking it up, seriously how is do we still only have subs for up to episode 6) meant that it never got the place in the spotlight it deserved. Some people speculated that it was meant to air on TV because the episodes are formatted as such, but with AiPri starting in that slot the same month the show is ending that doesn't seem to be true.

It's hard to say where PriPara is going from here. It's the series 10th anniversary and the arcade game is being shuttered to push players towards AiPri Verse instead. Idol Land's anime finale is going to air to little applause because it's stuck on an app with less than 20,000 active users, and in the same month as the launch of the new series that's slated to be a real PreCure competitor.

Idol Land's EOS hasn't been announced yet, but the missing Nino birthday coord, the April monthly update with entirely rerun coords, and the fact that Idol Land is getting very VERY close to running out of content from the switch game. Well, if not EOS I expect this game to go into maintenance mode pretty soon.

Yeah idk what my point here was exactly, but man Idol Land really was a blur. Sometimes I think we understate exactly how inexperienced the devs really were. The game doesn't have any type of Google Play integration, and when the game launched the account recovery only lasted 15 minutes. I have a newer phone and the game isn't compatible with my hole punch front camera. There's just a black bar there. I only have this problem with older games, anything made in the last 4 years doesn't have this problem except for Idol Land. I honestly think the lack of region locking is because the dev doesn't know how to turn it on. Someone on discord reported that they've been buying gold, and then contacting Google and asking for a Play Store refund. It's worked multiple times and they are not banned. How is a ban for chargebacks not something they implemented day one. Also this game doesn't have any deals or discounts, ever. It's hard to believe that, like every game I've ever played has a buy two and get 50% off the second one bundle. But it's like the devs don't know how to implement anything past basic gacha mechanics. I could also ramble about how expensive the prices are, but I've done it before I won't do it again. Also the photo room, it's implemented pretty badly. You upload a photo for the background and it crops it weird and squishes it and makes it blurry. I didn't know this at launch because it was a paid feature for like six months. The pass itself was a horrible value unless you were buying it specifically to get the episodes early, you got exactly how the amount of gold you paid for. Why not just buy the gold then. But they either realized that, or were preparing for end of service; because they took it down. I'm rambling about things the devs messed up but I haven't even mentioned the first three months of the game. There's been so many points in this game's history where playing a promise was borderline impossible for one reason or another. This game didn't feel finished until that November update that included immediate promises. God there's so much more. The photo competitions just being about editing for some reason. Also they went away, so clearly those didn't work. The amount of coords they've implemented that were broken in some way. Sometimes it was the wrong coord entirely, sometimes the cylume didn't work. It's like the dev team is so small that there's no QA people. Also on that note, Open Dream Land was just fixed in the mid March update. The game went more than 6 months where one of its two unique charts was off sync. Also remember the voice bug, that lasted forever.

I'm sorry I just started rambling lmao. This is the problem when I write posts with speech to text, I say way too much. Ultimately I enjoyed my time with Idol Land, but it's existence feels surreal. Especially because 80% of the features from this game I can turn on my switch after end of service and play, and it's free because I already paid once and never have to pay again. I even have Waku Waku O'Clock on Switch. One day, probably soon from the way things are going, I'm going to wake up and not be able to play Idol Land on my phone ever again. But instead of reminiscing of this game, I will think about the game that could have been if Idol Land got as much love as Prism Rush did.

Firstly thank you for the compliment. I may be rather quick but I do truly work hard on these so the love for what I do is always appreciated 💕

As for my process, you are kind of right about me having it memorized. Lolita fashion does have a degree of set rules for it (which while I play a bit looser with them than many hardcore lolita enthusiasts) that I have memorized.

A standard outfit contains:

An OP (dress) or JSK (a jumper skirt/sleeveless blouse)

A blouse if using a JSK

Stockings

Shoes (traditionally a variant of Mary Jane heels)

Gloves or cuffs if using short sleeves

A fascinator of some form

A wig

Purse

Assorted jewelry

I then use this set as a checklist to make a coord collage.

When working on a new Pokemon I look it up on Bulbapedia for a reference. and then start googling pieces/ looking up stuff based on the checklist and attributes of the pokemon. Other resources I use are Pinterest (but only accessories because it's banned the word lolita due to association with the Nabokov novel... and unfortunately several terms associated with the fashion FOR SOME REASON ), Lolibrary, and Etsy.

I hope this cleared some things up for you!

incredibly bare bones tutorial on how to actually play lives in idol land pripara

first, find the building that says promise. i didnt take a screenshot of that because this is bare bones. but it says it in the latin alphabet so its not that hard to find. tap on that.

then you have this screen

you can enter other peoples lives as often as you want but those give negligible rewards so if you actually want to make money (you cant get the gold ai$ without paying for them just the silver kind) and get iine to rank up you need to make your own.

when you make your own you will expend one of those pink tickets and it will ask you what kind of live you want to do, one with more iine (pink), one with more ai$ (silver) or one with access to the special shop (gold). the special shop is a selection of random coords you can buy, theres a couple of different shops, theyre numbered, so if you get one check up top which one it is.

but you should use your tickets on the first two. there will always be someone elses live with access to the shop. piggy back off them.

also the photoshoots are lame dont bother.

thats it. hopefully this removes the basic confusion of how the core gameplay works.

i'll do violence and manipulation variants as well, it's just that vivian also changes appearance in those routes so i'd have to redraw her to correspond to her outfits in those routes lol EDIT: hi i did the two route variants

comparisons with eris

you might notice already the similarities in appearance to eris, namely the curly hair and heterochromia. this was intentional; vivian and eris are similar in a lot of ways, namely the desire for a perfect love and rotten personality, and vivian as a self insert was made to take eris's role.

of course, they also have stark differences; while eris's methods are rather calculating and require a lot of forethought, vivian is rather spontaneous and impulsive. vivian's shaping of milo isn't as carefully constructed as eris's, as vivian likes a more natural-feeling relationship. however, she still very much wants a corrosive and suffocating love, and will absolutely enable milo's obsessive tendencies and push him into it more and more until she can barely breathe... and then some.

furthermore, while eris's show of affection tends to be pretty mild, vivian is absolutely smothering in her love. she's a yandere as well, and her obsessive tendencies are much worse than preroute milo's. the reason she wants a perfect love is because she's loved in this intense and suffocating manner all her life, only to be met with rejection and disgust, and has always wanted someone to love her in the same way she loves. a give and take that's reciprocal in action.

while eris tends to be cold and relatively lucid, vivian... well, she's fucking insane. neurotic, emotionally unstable, delusional, the works. the classic "keeps up a sweet and cute persona, has overwhelming mental issues that freak out the normies." but it's okay, because she and milo can have overwhelming mental issues that freak out the normies together.

elaborating on vivimilo

vivian is absolutely the little spoon. she is very, very small. she's a big fan of the size difference between her and milo, in both height and body type.

she love love LOVES fashion, hence her appearance changes in violence and manipulation routes that i mentioned earlier. she's also always wanted to borrow her partner's clothes, especially if they're much bigger than her and especially for the sake of trying to put together cute coords with the clothes. personally, i feel like the hoodie that we see with milo P is one that he's had for a long time, so the color's kind of faded and weird-looking, and i think vivian could coordinate an outfit with it that looks very cute and fun in a more purposeful manner.

vivian LOVES pet names and likes to alternate between several different ones. sweetheart, honey, dear, the classics. her go-to is darling, that's her absolute favorite. doll and love are close seconds.

it's hard to say where she falls on the intro/extrovert scale. i think she's best described as an extrovert with extreme social anxiety. she'd LOVE to be more social, as she really likes the attention, but she tends to freeze up when actually trying to converse. it's a struggle.

words are fine, but she's much better with expressing her love through her actions. she's very touchy-feely and wants to be near her darling as often as possible. she's not very good at remembering to care for herself, but she'll try to care for milo as best she can, or at least remind him to care for himself.

definitely confesses first. it takes her a bit cus she gets really nervous and she's super afraid of rejection, but she's definitely the one to voice her feelings first. not like she's very good at hiding her affection, anyways. i think that before they start dating, she and milo have super obvious, super embarrassing crushes on each other that literally everyone can sense from a mile away for weeks on end, but they both avoid saying anything about it out of fear of making things awkward. category 5 BPD catastrophe. they both have panic attacks in the bathroom over this shit. and then vivian finally confesses and they're both sooooooo so in love.

afraid of squashing the bugs. her main concern is the bug getting anywhere *on* her cus it feels icky. considering that milo's terrified of the bug and keeps hiding behind her, she gets the nearest shoe to squash it herself. can only really squash with a shoe rather than use the cup/sheet of paper method cus she gets too panicky. she's rather imprecise as-is trying to squash the damn thing.

can't drive. is fine with being a passenger, but is otherwise afraid of cars. her spatial awareness is dogshit, and she gets so freaked out about being behind the wheel that she dissociates. it'll be a long while of practice before she can be trusted to drive to places.

knows how to cook some very basic things, but these basic things turn out pretty good. can probably cook more complex dishes if the disability doesn't tire her out too much that day, or if she gets help.

as mentioned before, she's very touchy-feely. she gets a little more nervous about getting physically affectionate in public, but not by much. definitely takes advantage of milo getting easily flustered by getting super physically affectionate at opportune times. she thinks it's so cute when he's like that.

leans more overprotective, although it's difficult to describe. she's used to being powerless in situations where her darling's being mistreated, so while it takes her a bit to step in to do anything about it, she'll still glare real nasty at anyone who treats milo even slightly too harshly.

has more relationship experience, although most of it was LDR since she's the kind of nerd who has more friends online than IRL lol

horny as hell, to the extent that she tends to hold herself back when expressing her sexuality out of fear that she'd be overstepping. when she's given the okay to express her sexuality unfiltered, she can get pretty needy. definitely the more dominant out of the two lol that man is submissive as hell

I bought this JSK on Depop because it's boned and strapless, and I wanted to do a tutorial on how that works. Previous owner did some damage to it trying to wear it like a corset. Boning does not equal corset. Blouse: Baby | JSK+Bow: AATP | Shoes: Bodyline, all else offbrand.

I made this skirt in 2016 and I've been looking for the best way to coord it ever since. The bottom tier is the art from the Legendary Hero opening of The Wind Waker. Opted for the same tights+socks combo here, but not as fond of it. He's angry. All that pent up anger from his issues. He's also had blood on his hands before. If you think about red you may think roses or blood or something. But when Dally thinks of red, he sees himself. He thinks he's just another blink of an eye or when he's confident, a ruby. He always hated seeing red whenever there was a rumble back in NY. But deep down he begged himself to accept he loved red.

DARRY IS ORANGE ...

Stressed. I feel like orange is a perfect colour to describe stress and tiredness. And that's Darrel exactly. Having to raise his 16 and 14 year old siblings is a struggle at just twenty. Like when Pony described that Darry would come home with pulled muscles and a stiff back... He worked himself to the bone for his siblings.

PONY IS YELLOW BECAUSE...

If you think about it you may think happiness, but not me. Sure, I might at first, but no. Yellow is perfect for Ponyboy. The courageousness of him, his smile, how he loves the sunsets, he likes stuff others [his friends] don't. He may seem happy-go-lucky, but in reality he's been through a lot. That week in August changed him so much more than it seems.

eli exhales through their teeth, shakes their head. declan's expression smooths out, softens as he listens, one ear flicking. "i haven't- it wasn't- this is the first time... the first place that's been- home. somewhere safe. even if we move, it's- significant. i'd just have to update it a little more. don't actually go here, bud, something like that."

"'xactly." declan bites back a laugh, canine caught on his lip. eli flicks their gaze back to the needle. "anyways, if i came back and you weren't here, it'd tip me off pretty quick. once things started- working again, anyway."

Where to start as a (plus size) lolita (Part 5)

Anatomy of a proper Lolita Coordinate

What is a coordinate?

A coordinate (usually shortened to coord) is what your whole outfit is. This applies to every fashion of course, but we’ll be focusing specifically on lolita fashion specifically. This includes everything from your dress to shoes to petticoat to even your accessories and hair and makeup. Making a coordinate can seem a bit daunting, especially for a beginner who may not know where to start. Since lolita is a bit of a strict fashion on what applies and what doesn’t, I’m making this guide to give newbies a general idea of how to make proper coordinates (which can give you an idea on what you’ll be needing to acquire).

For this guide, I will be using a sweet lolita coord as an example, but this information applies to every sub style.

Note: Not every single piece I list is 100% needed or required, of course, you should take note of the weather and other conditions you will be facing when wearing lolita.

1. Petticoat

This is the foundation of your coord and a good portion of what makes lolita fashion, lolita fashion! A good solid petticoat should be about the length of your dress which is usually around 45cm. Most lolita dresses/skirts will be around that length, especially brand dresses but keep an eye on measurements. You don’t want a petticoat too deflated, too long, or too short of the silhouette of the dress/skirt will NOT look right.

2. Main Piece

This is your main piece! And most likely your focal point! This is the other part of what makes Lolita fashion, Lolita fashion! There are a few types of main pieces and depending on what you choose to wear can determine what other pieces you add to your coordinate. With an OP (one piece) you don’t need to add a blouse (but some people do, especially as a trend quite a few years back). However, with a JSK and a skirt, you’ll be needing a blouse under the dress/skirt. This also determines the type of blouse you might wear under these items which is extremely important as well. I recommend looking at the colors you choose for your main piece and using that color palette to help you make decisions on the other colors you want to add to your coordinate. (Sounds complex, but just make sure the colors match/or are the same color palette).

3. Blouse

You can't get very far without a good blouse! You wear these under your main piece and they again, vary in style and length. There's not much to say other than they're essential and without one, you'll be floundering around. The main color people wear for a blouse is white since it goes with most pieces. However, depending on your style other colors would suit a coord better like pink, black, or even brown! The sky is the limit with blouse types, it's just a difficult decision to pick your favorites suited for the wardrobe you want.

4. Legwear What's a good coord without a cute pair of socks? Socks come in 3 different lengths, not including tights. There are ankle socks, under-the-knee socks (UTKs), and over-the-knee socks (OTKs).

5. Shoes

Who could forget the other essential, shoes? Lolita shoes come in several heights and styles, many working very well with lolita! As long as they are not sneakers (especially dirty or ruined ones), nice looking dressy shoes are key to pulling off a cohesive nice coord. There are TONS of different shoe types, the hard part is finding the right one that suits you! Custom options are available as well!

Final Note:

As always, I could go on, but these pieces are what give you a basic lolita coordinate. A more versatile wardrobe will allow your pieces to be stretched further in your coordinates. As long as your coordinates have these basic steps and features, you are a lolita. When you master the basics, then you can experiment with your coords as well!

I “finished”(read: reached the main goal of) Fashion Dreamer last night, so here are my thoughts on the game so far:

Other’s frequent comments + my thoughts on them

“It’s too short!”

My first issue with this comment is that this game doesn’t have an end, it’s a social game, plus there are still so many things to discover and unlock once you finish reaching 10k followers. Second, this game’s target demographic is children, despite most of the player base being adults. That’s something a lot of people tend to forget while playing. Third, and I know it’s not fair to compare this with past Style Savvy games, the older Style Savvy games are short, too!! I recently played Fashion Forward and beat the story mode(while playing sporadically) in a week, and the past games are even shorter. The only exception here is 4, but that’s after years and years of refining the story and tying it in with idol culture. Since this is a new franchise with a new concept, I think it deserves just a little slack.

“The credits are long and unskippable!”

I really hope I don’t sound rude by saying this but have you played any game ever.

“It requires a lot of grinding!”

I agree, though I’ve never had an issue with that, since I’m STILL struggling to find the colors in older Style Savvy games, and the grinding/unlocking system gives me(at least) something to do in single-player mode.

My thoughts: Cons

It’s buggy

That said, again, I’m cutting it some slack since it’s only been two days since the U.S. release, and I expect at least the drift bug to be fixed in the future. Even still, I’m a little disappointed in that.

The dressing up interface

I wish you could zoom in, and the sorting options aren’t awful, per se, I like that you can sort by brand, type, and recently acquired, but I wish you could sort by color and style type, especially because of my next comment��

The clothes can feel a little same-y

Don’t get me wrong, they look amazing!!! They’re all very sleek and refined, but, since they’re mostly based on modern Japanese fashion, there is an excess of things like long coats and berets. That, and since there are so few patterns to work with, some styles are hard to differentiate, like casual and sporty. Also, I think that the style is determined by color and pattern, which can make it hard to make something like a bittersweet lolita coord, for example.

Lagging in online mode

I don’t know if this is a problem with my internet or the game, but I have a lot of trouble receiving lookits for my male muse, Sakuya. Last night, my friend and I were exchanging some, and I waited for an hour and I still didn’t get it. That, and it’s hard to dress up and create items because of said lag, to the point where I just go into single-player mode to do so.

The environments

Do NOT get me wrong, the environments are stunning, and I love them a lot, even if they’re a little small. My only complaint is that I wish they had more kinetic energy and movement, as well as changing periodically. For example, it would be cool if the angel and devil wings in Cocoon Fun flapped a little, or if the handles in the train in Act swayed to simulate movement. Or what if the bell in Love rang every few minutes? If the virtual trees in Hope swayed in the breeze and changed colors based on the seasons? What if the billboards changed too, or were animated? If a vehicle whizzed by on the road once in a while? I have too many ideas. Marvelous and SynSophia please hire me.

The unparalleled serotonin that is online play

I feel like there’s enough said. It’s so fun. The feeling of when my friend dms me and is like “hey I wanna make a lookit for your guy send me a request” is so everything, and the lookits people make for Lucille are adorable. I love it here.

THE PHOTOS!!!!

OH MY GOD THE PHOTOS. I already do this a lot in Style Savvy, and Fashion Dreamer blew me away with it. The stickers/puricura are probably my favorite, along with the drone camera. It makes it really easy to get nice pictures of your looks, and both the photo egg and Eve provide awesome backgrounds.

The designs and trending execution

I didn’t know how to word it dknfnjs, but it’s all done very well! Everyone’s items feel unique, and I like that you can show the item on your muse as you’re designing it, it’s helped a lot with making outfits. As for the trend execution, I think it’s smart to let you put your items up where everybody can see it, and it makes it a lot easier to get likes. I just- man. It’s so good.

The npcs!

Arguably one of my favorite parts of the game. They’re all so silly and unique, and I like the almost children’s show-sounding names. That, and I like that they still have requests of what they want as opposed to just letting you roam free. Plus, the affection/ranking system is a nice thing to have, it makes me feel a little more connected to them, and I already have favorites and least favorites.

The boyssssss

I feel like most players have at least one male/type b muse, and it just goes to show that there really was a demand for men in these kinds of games. It also makes creating my favorite male characters a lot easier, too!

I feel like I’m missing more, but these were my biggest highlights!!

Overall thoughts/closing

Though the game has its flaws, I think Fashion Dreamer is a really good experience if you like dressup games and enjoy putting people in cute outfits. I enjoy it, and will definitely be playing for the next little while, if only to read and unlock more stuff from the npcs sjdbfnfj. Thanks for reading!!!
