c'mon now. this is The Nose of All Time, famous worldwide and in the brain of one Max Verstappen. i wanted to fuck this man so bad when i was like 15 and i'm pretty sure 90% of the reason was because i love his nose so much. the arch, the structure from the front, the random freckles... embarrassingly I went on two dates with a guy in high school just because he kind of had a similar nose. don't look at me.

CHARLES LECLERC

beloved nose of a beloved boy. honestly idk what kind of witchcraft is happening with charles' facial features ever but his nose is so characteristic of him and i'm obsessed with it. love that it moves kind of like a bunny's when he talks, love the bump in the center, and love to stay being confused about how it looks like he has a button nose from the front when it's actually deceptively strong in profile.

CARLOS SAINZ

i am predictable and i don't care. gorgeous nose, adore how it's kind of hooked, and the freckles on the bridge are just an added bonus. compliments the rest of him so well and again, the subtle bump... god is real i guess. i'm such a sucker for strong features and i constantly geek out over carlos' face so, it would be cruel not to give him his flowers.

MAX VERSTAPPEN

i'm sooo intrigued by this man's face at all times but his nose especially, i just love the shape of it. max already has a super strong profile and his nose compliments that really well (like imagine him with a small nose... it's actually horrifying i'm shaking). obsessed with how severe the initial slope is and how it curves down towards the tip... it's so subtle but i fixate on it often.

LANDO NORRIS

mr. nose-job-nose. the first time i saw lando's side profile i audibly gasped. he looks a bit elvin and whimsical so it just works amazingly with his face... yeah... his nose is just jarringly perfect. this addition is a slight anomaly for me because i aggressively prefer big noses, but i can appreciate the fact that people would pay to have his schnoz.

LEWIS HAMILTON

a fellow nose-piercing-haver. i've always been a fan of lewis' face but when he got the studs it violently catapulted his sex appeal into the stratosphere. i lovveee how his nose like, lengthens when he smiles really big i find it super endearing. in profile it's very gentle (no aggressive angles, everything follows the same line) which suits him well. some people just have the anatomy for facial jewelry and he definitely does. starting a prayer circle for an lh septum ring.

Be More Chill: currently what I’m obsessed with at the moment. I get why people don’t like it but it’s just very charming to me okay 😭 I just think the characters are fun, the concept is interesting and the songs are just bangers. And maybe I slightly relate to it okay. The costumes are…questionable. But I think it’s super colorful which I love. My dream role is Christine. She is literally me.

Beetlejuice: this is what me and my oldest sister bonded over when she was always hiding in her room cause she was so introverted. We used to watch the animatics and we would sing “say my name”. So I only have good memories! We even planned to see it on Broadway except COVID happened abd it closed so :( but I love Beetlejuice and the songs!

Into The Woods: THIS IS WHAT GOT ME INTO MUSICALS. I remember I would rewatch the 2014 version constantly and sing the songs. Little red riding hood is my fav and always will be and “Your Fault” is just *chefs kiss* yes.

Sound of Music: I performed in this in 3rd grade at my older sisters high school. Now this was fun. I didn’t really get the concept of nazis so I was just like “why is Leisels boyfriend now evil :(“ so uh yeah- but really good musical!!

Hairspray: the songs are a bop and seaweed was my favorite.

Heathers: I’ve never watched the original movie but I have seen clips. Songs are great!! I always liked the costumes, even if they are stagnant throughout the whole show. My friend got into it so now I’m getting back into it. I remember I loved the animatics, even though I didn’t know what was going on half the time.

Dear Evan Hansen: ….okay. I remember I was super into the animatics. But then I learned the plot and was like: 😨 so

Hamilton: my oldest sister was super into it and I remember 6 year old me asked her “so what’s it about?” While we were driving to nyc and got a very long summary. I also used to watch many animatics and szinn was my fav. I do actually like it. I think it’s a bold concept that somehow worked and LMM did a great job at utilizing RAP and THE FOUNDING FATHERS.

Wicked: so I actually saw this on Broadway when I was 6 and I completely forgot everything. But I do remember when Glinda came down in those bubbles and I thought that was the coolest thing ever.

Theory Of Relativity: a modern musical that my school actually did a production of. Super fun! It’s a song cycle which I’m not super into but I liked the songs.

The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals: not Broadway but god DID I LOVE THIS. The characters are super interesting, I love the idea of a musical apocalypse. The fact every song was a “villain song” was so cool and the jokes killed me.

Nerdy Prudes Must Die: I love a good ol underdogs rise up story. Until the underdogs commit a felony <3 i feel like there would be no songs I would skip except “dirty girl” just cause…yeah. But I absolutely loved the characters! I thought Ruth and Richie deserved better. Grace is crazy but girl really was all, “It was an act of god!! 😇” NO IT WASNT.

MP100 Theatre Kid AU

Welcome to the AU that takes all my theatre experience and shoves it into the mp100 cast members (pun intended) because Teru is the definition of that theatre kid and I have thoughts.

This is Teru and Shigeo’s character sheets, but I’ve got ideas for Reigen, Ritsu, Shou (definitely a tech kid), Serizawa, the BIC (stage crew), the telepathy club, and even Claw. (And maybe Mogami?)

Teruki “Teru” Hanazawa

Background:

He grew up being ignored by his parents and classmates. Nothing he did got their attention, no matter how big or small. Good grades were expected and getting in trouble got him shunned even more.

During music class in elementary, his music teacher, Koyama-sensei, announced their class was doing a short musical for the annual cultural festival and it would have some solos.

Teruki wondered if that would get him some attention, even a small amount.

He wasn’t expecting his audition to get a standing ovation.

That applause was the birth of his performing obsession (he was finally being seen).

He was quickly taken under Koyama’s wing who introduced him to the theatre troupe he was a part of: Seasoning Stages run by Touichirou Suzuki.

Teruki auditioned for the troupe and was immediately praised by Touichirou, saying that he had a gift. That he was special.

No one had ever said he was special before.

He was accepted into the troupe on the spot (because a certain Shou Suzuki was sick of the troupe and the type of people in it).

Shortly after, Touichirou signed off on his equity card at 13, and he decided to make his stage name just “Teru”. It was still him, but it was different. New.

He’s followed all of Touichirou’s advice of keeping your friends close but your competition even closer.

That way, when the time came for auditions, he could hit them where it hurt (intimidate the newbies and psych out the upperclassmen).

As far as he was concerned, he had made it. He was working professionally, he had friends (not really but don’t tell him that), and he was on his way to even better opportunities (Broadway?). What could possibly go wrong?

A certain boy with a bowl cut steals the lead from right under his nose that’s what.

Character Traits:

That Theatre Kid™

President of Black Vinegar’s Drama Club.

Tenor high-belt for days.

Very good relative pitch, but not perfect pitch.

Corrects those who spell “theatre” with an “er” instead of an “re”.

Sings/hums along during professional productions when in the audience (don’t you DARE do this. Yes I’m salty because there was a grown ass woman who did this behind me during Hamilton and I just about lost it when she sang along during Burn. No.)

Upset if he’s not the last one featured during bows.

Will blow a gasket if you say “the m word” backstage (Tome does this just to piss him off).

Gives “tips” to other actors (“Not to start drama or anything, but Inukawa, you’ve been doing that kick on 5 and 6 instead of 7 and 8. Yeah, it looks really bad.”

“Do you even know what a triple pirouette is?”

*Checks phone for the 1000th time for the cast list*

Specialty: Mega-Musicals/Pop (New Style)

Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama

Background:

Loved to sing Ritsu to sleep when they were little.

Discovered he had perfect pitch during music class as a first-year elementary student.

He didn’t mind others asking him to sing, but he was more focused on his singing getting Tsubomi’s attention.

Ritsu mentioned interest in the school musical, and so Shigeo took to the stage, hoping that would pique Tsubomi’s interest.

However, he quickly learned that the other kids in the show were not very welcoming to new kids. Especially new kids that got a lead on the first try.

They couldn’t target him because of the teachers favoritism towards Shigeo, so they targeted Ritsu (who got in the chorus) instead.

The kids struck during the final performance, but it went further than they anticipated.

What was supposed to be humiliation via bag of flour dumped on Ritsu turned into a loose stage light jostled one too many times falling.

They were lucky it hit his leg.

Shigeo’s normal performance nerves turned into full on stage fright after that.

Shigeo doesn’t do solos anymore.

He still participates in shows, but feels out of place, even in the ensemble.

When asked why he still does theatre despite his apparent disinterest, he simply replies, “because I don’t know what else to do.”

Music is all he’s ever known, and he isn’t sure what else he’s good at. He doesn’t know what else there is for him.

Meeting a certain arrogant blond arsehole, that’s what’s there for him.

Character Traits:

The Quiet Kid™

Sometimes comes off as a know-it-all due to his musical talent, but he truly just wants to help the performance be the best it can. (“Oh, no you’ve been singing the fifth in the chord a little flat. It’s okay though. That’s a really high note and it’s hard to sing.”)

Music is memorized by the first rehearsal.

Is always cast in the chorus (the “mob”) because of his stage fright.

Doesn’t have a voice type label because the kid has range. More often than not though, he’s in the baritone section, but has a bright tone. He sings in the section that’s the weakest.

Very calming to be around during rehearsals.

Secretly wants to be stage crew (BIC members run that) but doesn’t have the strength, and the constant running around can be overwhelming.

The only person who has heard him at his full potential is Ritsu and Reigen I’ll get to him later.

Specialty: Excels in all genres EXCEPT singer-songwriter/poetic: The most vulnerable genre of singing. It’s hard to be yourself when you don’t even know your “self”.

New Zealand references in Nona the Ninth

Soooo I am now completely obsessed with the Locked Tomb series!!

As a resident of New Zealand, I was absolutely delighted to see all the kiwi references in there. I am guessing that most people would not have gotten a lot of the them, so I attempted to explain as many as I can below, including with visual guides and links. These references also help us pin down some details about John and the gang.

Hella spoilers for Nona the Ninth below!

John 20:8

These refer to Otago University in Dunedin and Auckland University in Auckland. I went to Otago. Maybe I crossed paths with John himself!! I am a millennial as well, after all.

The iconic Otago Uni clocktower building situated next to the Leith river. If John graduated from Otago, he would have a photo of himself in his gown with the clocktower in the background. Everybody does it.

Location of the facility (same as the facility as Canaan house or no??):

Greytown is an unremarkable tiny town in the Wairarapa. It’s located in the bottom of the North Island and is about an hour’s drive from my house.

A freezing works refers to a place where animals are frozen in preparation for getting shipped off to various places and eaten. A typical NZ freezing works looks like this one that I found on google maps:

MoD is the Ministry of Defence. NZ doesn’t really have a military to speak of, but somehow people still have careers in it.

Phrases in Te Reo Maori (a language of the indigenous people of New Zealand).

kia kaha = be strong

kia maia = be brave

They are things you would say to someone who is going through a tough time.

John 15:23

Possibly implies that John is of Maori descent. He might look something like Taika Waititi with golden eyes, given the history teacher description. Maori TV is a local on-demand TV channel.

Macca’s = MacDonald’s

ute = pick-up truck or large SUV, short for “utility vehicle”

morepork = an owl found in New Zealand, also known as the ruru

Possums are an invasive species from Australia and are almost universally hated in New Zealand because they have no natural predators here and destroy native forests. They make all kinds of unholy noises.

John 8:1

wop-wops = middle of nowhere countryside

Parachute was an annual Christian music festival that ran from 1992 to 2014. The drinking age in New Zealand is 18, so that puts some limits on John’s age. The earliest he was born is 1976 (assuming 17 years old in 1992). The latest he was born was the late 1990s. If he was 17 in 2014, then he was born in 1997, but he may well have attended when he was younger than that, so it could be up to the year 2000. it’s overwhelmingly likely that he is a millennial, but there is a small chance that he is actually gen Z.

Some of my friends from high school might have met him at Parachute. Who knows!

Hamilton, city of the future! It’s a city a bit south of Auckland. It’s a place.

A great deal of the New Zealand countryside is farmland. Mostly cows and sheep. More cows than sheep these days, I think. You can see the cattle from areal photos in google maps. Here is an example from the Wairarapa, near Greytown:

NCEA Level 2 is the equivalent of 11th grade in the US. This implies that P-- did not finish high school and is a swipe at her low level of education. I should note that a lot of people in NZ do not finish high school, and instead leave school to learn trades or just work. It’s not considered shameful, but someone with a PhD (like John) may very well look down on someone who didn’t finish high school.

Trans-Tasman refers to Australia and New Zealand. The Tasman Sea is between them. Australia supports the cryo can project, yay!

Porirua is a town in the greater Wellington region and it is home to the Royal New Zealand Police College. One of my family members worked there for a time. Maybe he met P--!

01: Finding Myself in Nature: The Evolution of Our Special Relationship

I have not always had a strong connection to nature. I grew up in an indoor-loving Italian household in Hamilton, Ontario. We enjoyed watching movies, going shopping, and planning dinner dates with friends and family. Nature was something “out there” to my cohort. It was “disgusting” and “dangerous” and not a part of our world. 

When I started doing more travelling in high school, I quickly learned that I enjoyed hiking more than the city activities I had grown up doing. I had gone on two one-week camping trips with my school and became obsessed. I started forcing my childhood friends to go on hikes with me and together we made chasing waterfalls our favourite summer activity. I recognized the joy I derived from nature and put myself in more positions where I could explore it. 

One particular experience stands out as one that helped build my current relationship with nature. Two years ago I went tree planting in Northern Ontario. For two months I backcountry camped, planting seedlings in harsh conditions for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (the insect abundance was unreal — I was swarmed by black flies constantly). I experienced the unkind parts of nature and was often frustrated with my living conditions. Despite this, I have never been more at peace than I was during those two months. I could disconnect from my busy online world and connect with myself on a deeper level. I think about this experience often and believe this self-connection is why I enjoy being in nature so much today. 

In university In university, I began to learn more about global environmental change in my classes, closely followed environmental media, and made friends who cared about the natural world to the extent I did. My friends and I would discuss current events and encourage each other to live more sustainably (we went vegetarian and began to thrift all our clothes and household items). I chose to study international development, geography and ecology in university to understand how I/we can help mitigate global environmental change. Therefore, I also built on my connection to nature through my formal education, my friends and my media eco-chamber. 

“A sense of place”, as described in our textbook, is recognizing a location as more than just another common environment. It is identifying and understanding the special characteristics and the bigger picture of a place. As previously mentioned, I believe that my teachers, friends and the media are important influences that have "interpreted nature" for me, helping me gain a sense of place with it. Due to these influences, I view nature as more than simply flora and fauna. To me, nature represents billions of years of evolution, complex and changing interactions, and a space where I can peacefully exist. I understand nature's history and culture due to my education and have built on our relationship due to close influences in my life.

Now I have to jump from 1777 to ca. 333 BC cause apparently Netflix has an Alexander The Great half seriously acted/half docu series coming out Wednesday and Alexander the Great was my Thing sophomore year of high school(The trailer is EVERYTHING). They better do his relationship with Hephaestion right(queerly)

They were VERY in love and very obviously. Idk why it's a debate after anyone reads how Alexander reacted to Hephaestion's death(There's more but I can't remember atm)

We had an unit on ATG in World History and I wanted to google something in whatever documentary we were watching(I think it was Alexander and Hephaestion making an offering to Achilles and Patroclus) and it led me to finding out there was speculations Alex and Phai were queer and a thing and me just recently realizing I liked girls along with boys was really like. Obsessed.

That's me though. I find out things are queer and I get obsessed. I love non queer stuff too and get obsessed but. It's just like my new AmRev phase was ignited by the Hamilton-Laurens letters that are sus as fuck. Sus as fuck as I'm like yet to find a reasonable het explanation as to why Laurens was encouraging Hammie to find a wife as a cure for his devotion to Laurens.

Of course, I watched the 2004 Alexander, with Colin Farrell and Jared Leto. They are still my celebrity conspiracy theory of they fell in love during filming and had an on and off thing for a few years and it crashed and burned(That's a very very very long essay spanning several albums because Jared Leto is still clearly extremely fucked up by it see: Never Not Love You but also Love These Days). The Babylon balcony scene was gorgeous! And I loved the flashback to Aristotle teaching all the boys. And we at least got Princess Barsine-Stateira even if we didn't get the rest of the family. For books I think The Conqueror's Wife was my favorite as I loved writing from Drypetis' pov(Hephaestion's wife, Darius' daughter. I headcanoned Bagoas as her best friend though and they were all very poly and friends besides Roxana. I was probably too mean to Roxana looking back) and she was a narrator for that book. I remember reading it on a trip down to the German Christmas market. My teacher always splurged for coach buses so it was an extra nice bus ride read. That was senior year though, when it came out. I still had nook back then, not kindle.

I think our ATG unit coincided with state testing week which is part of why we watched a documentary because my history teacher knew we'd be frazzled and classes were all messed up with that week. not that it matters but it's also is like. Placing things.

Looking at the character list on IMDB(assuming it's legit) I'm like some of these people I need reminders but I'm also like Memnon! (There was an AlexPhai fic where Memnon kidnapped Phai and they grew fond of each other) Ptolemy! Queen Stateira! Hephaestion! And once I gave it some thought I was like X and Y were Phillip's generation and didn't Z kill Darius?

Yep. I need to do some review tomorrow though. God it's gonna feel good. Honestly the trailer was so exciting I was like Alexander! Phillip's death! Darius! Darius with Stateira! IS THAT SISYGAMBIS!?!?!?!?!? (IDK but I'm gonna freak if we get Sisygambis. What if we get precious little Ochus? Drypetis? Bagoas? Please at least give us the canon queer kiss with Bagoas)

what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have? I've told this story before but long story short, I was obsessed with the game in middle school. I had a total Alice in Wonderland phase. I started RPing in high school with just oc muses. But then in 2011 I saw other people doing canon characters from different fandoms so I thought I would try writing Alice. I just fell in love with her and had so much fun making her my own character. It's hard to believe that I've been writing her for 13 years.

is there anything you don’t like to write? Smuts not really my thing. I mean I will write it but I'm not good at it. I love reading it, when it's well written and fits into a plot well, but I suck at writing it.

is there anything you really enjoy writing? All things horror! Anything just dark and fucked up is my vibe. I also love anything action and fantasy and lots of angst.

how do you come up with headcanons? I'm always being inspired by other games, books and movies. Honestly I don't have a process. Things just come to me and I'm like "oh that fits Alice!"

do you write in silence or do you play music? It depends on my mood. Most of the time I have a movie or a show on. A lot of the times I like having music too. I gotta have background noise when doing anything.

do you plan your replies or wing them? A bit of both! Like the above answer, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'll read a reply to a thread and don't write mine right away and just think about it all day and come up with an outline in my head. Other times I'll just come up with a reply on the spot. That's why my activity is so sporadic.

do you enjoy shipping? Yes! Though it's not easy with Alice since she's demisexual and is heavily affected by her past and that makes it hard to trust people. But I am always wanting her to find some sort of connection.

Ok, a friend told me I needed to be on Tumblr because it’s where all the cool kids are. I’m not sure if I qualify, but here I am! For this first post, I guess I’ll just put down a bunch of random stuff about myself. If you see something you like, great! We might be part of the same tribe of weirdos. If not, that’s ok. I’ll try not to take it personally.

1. I’m a 50 year old straight, married, white, cis female. My pronouns are she/her. I’ve been married for to my high school sweetheart since 1996, and we are the parents of two amazing humans and more furry and feathered kids than any sane person should have.

2. I’m an ally, very aware of my privilege, and though I know I don’t always get it right, I am always trying to learn and do better when it comes to standing up for the rights of other humans. I believe that we need to take care of each other because life is hard and we don’t all get dealt the same cards in life. Learn better, do better.

3. Religion? Nah. Faith? Absolutely. These days I describe myself as a Christ follower, currently deconstructing Christianity as a religious institution. I love Jesus and want to be just like him. I’m reluctant to call myself a Christian because many of them are pretty much closed minded, bigoted, horribly judgmental people and I don’t want to be lumped in with them. My belief system pretty much boils down to “Love God, love people.” And, for the record, I also think that God reveals themself in many different ways. Also, science is real, folks. And magic is just science that we haven’t figured out yet.

3. Politically I am definitely liberal. We should take care of each other, do what each of us can to make the world better, and hold our so-called leaders accountable for doing what we put them in power to do. Crazy talk, I know.

4. Fun stuff: I’m into (in no particular order):

Star Trek (old and new, I love it all!)

Music (my tastes are eclectic, and my playlists reflect that). I also LOVE Broadway musicals, and I sing. A lot. Like, really a lot.

Science fiction, fantasy, and various sub-genre stuff. I also enjoy historical fiction, true crime, and history. Some of my favorite authors are Laurell K Hamilton, Isaac Asimov, Diane Duane, Phillipa Gregory, Janet Kagan, Anne McCaffrey, Kim Harrison, John Scalzi, Douglas Adams, Terry Prachett…I’m probably leaving a lot out.

Medical TV shows: The Resident is my current favorite, and I just finished rewatching House.

I have 5 cats.

I have 3 dogs; 2 of them are rough collies, and I’m obsessed with them.

I have an Amazon parrot named Widget. She’ll be 30 years old this summer, and I have been her mama since she was a 3 week old chick.

I am a veterinary assistant, and my work is also my passion. I have also been a cat sitter, worked in retail, taken care of elderly people, been a resort housekeeper, and worked in tech support.

I am currently learning to crochet.

I like card games, and I play a lot of stupid time wasting iPad games.
