saying that “cease fire now” is a neutral take is certainly…. interesting. with how the UN is and how the massive powers of the world dominate….. do you honestly think that there will be sudden revolutions in the midst of a genocide. or do you think it’s smarter to, yknow, CEASE FIRE BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE DYING AS WE SPEAK, so that they can get humanitarian aid, and then pressure leaders to wake the fuck up?

I'm sorry for saying this but the fans attacking the band over this issue should go outside and touch some grass, use that time to spread awareness if you're so passionate about this conflict instead of sending hate and threats to f*ucking musicians that have nothing to do with this, and this is not me defending Paramore. How bad does a parasocial relationship with a celebrity has to be to be seeking validation from them over your 'choice' in a conflict that's so complex in any way? I understand, and fans have every right to be disappointed if they want to but sending someone hateful messages is not the way to do it. People need to grow up, really. Go pester politicians, the press, the higher ups etc. that actually are directly involved in this instead of artists for not posting 3 sentences that could very well be PR and not genuine.
Sorry for the rant, but some of the comments I've seen on their social media are just disgusting.
i've been asleep all day so i will answer the asks i have (ppl may get annoyed so i'm just warning that i'm answering since we did start talking about it and then i fell asleep)
all of you are using the term "parasocial" in the more incorrect way possible, and i would know... being a kpop stan and everything lol. what people are saying to paramore is NOTHING like a parasocial relationship at all, so please stop using that word.
majority of fans i've seen have not sent them any hate. nothing has been hateful, i don't know why criticism = hate but that is not the case. the issue is, when you make using your platform for good, to help amplify the oppressed voices, and things like that part of your identity, and when there's something going on in the world you decide to stay silent, not even taking 2 seconds to sign a letter for a ceasefire (in which they wouldn't be doing or saying anything uneducated), people do have a right to criticise you.
the people saying anything (aside from maybe 2 accounts that piss me off on a daily basis) have been using their platforms and their voices and directed plenty of things towards politicians, world leaders, so called journalists and everyone under the sun, most of us have been very vocal about everything. we can very much talk about two things.
