I don't smoke weed but I think this fandom would be a lot better if they did
Like man, can peeps calm down , it's k to be passionate but like, this ain't life or death chill
-this ain't targeted towards u I'm just tired
We made this massive fandom for a breaking bad X Hamilton crossover roleplay like, I think people need to take a big nap and have a good meal and maybe smoke something getting this pissed ain't healthy
Oh, I think I know what this is about. Or, at least, I was pretty annoyed by a certain behavior I've seen floating around today, especially because it's a behavior I see every single time a new headcanon becomes popular, and that's a wave of people who immediately become toxic about it.
And here I'm talking about headcanons that are perfectly okay. They don't break boundaries, they aren't problematic.
Today, for example, the whole "Motherinnit as the goddess of life" happened, and quite a few headcanons came from that regarding c!Crimeboys, immediately you could see a wave of people being assholes about it. Like, there is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion on something. It's fine if you express that something doesn't appeal to you specifically and why it doesn't work for you. But if you go around trying to police what people can or cannot headcanon (within the streamers boundaries) insulting people's intelligence or accusing them of ruining the story, or ruining the characters, or anything of the sort you should check your f*cking attitude.
And that's a pervasive problem in this fandom. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that things like headcanons, or AUs, or fanfictions and fanarts are literally made by people to have fun. Everyone knows they aren't canon. Everyone knows they can't use them in genuine analysis, so why do some people feel this need to sh*t on people for them? Or to be toxic about it?
Genuinely, what kind of impact does someone having a headcanon you don't agree with have on your life? Why do some people feel like it's big enough to sh*t on it?
I don't know, it's just annoying. Especially because often negative posts like that inspire more negativity and it generally discourages people from trying to do literally doing anything. Or it makes them feel bad for doing something that was actually perfectly harmless.
And, by the way, this happens every single time. People immediately started f*cking treating those who headcanoned Shroud as a kid like absolute idiots who didn't understand c!Tommy, probably supported child abuse, and pushed their mother off a cliff.
Then there was the whole "c!Tommy uses hair clips and wears a big soft woolly sweater" where people going against it were quite frankly just spouting misogynistic bullsh*t and acting like using accessories or sweaters I guess is somehow childish (only for c!Tommy though, c!Wilbur uses a sweater? Nah, that's fine. C!Tubbo with hair clips? That's cool. C!Tommy though? Nah, now THAT'S infantilizing /s).
Then there was the whole she/her Wilbur thing which this time caused a round of transmisogynistic bullsh*t, just to have some variety on the theme.
Or the whole period where depicting c!Tommy as anything but a mud-eating gremlin 24/7 was somehow taboo.
There is so much more, but you get the idea. There are always people there ready to make anything into a big f*cking deal and sh*t on people because they DARED to headcanon something they personally didn't.
tl;dr nobody is a f*cking authority in this fandom, and people who feel entitled to police what others can and cannot headcanon, write, or draw (within the creators' boundaries) should shut their mouth actually.
