once again a mix of oldies, goodies, and oldies but goodies, because apparently my brain decided to start treating fic the way i do books: collect them and forget to read them.

all we are is skin and bones by IndestructibleHeart
Alex didn't plan to push Henry Fox into oncoming traffic.
Amigos y Migas by floatingaway4
“Christ, how is this so good? It’s like magic and science and...and I don’t even know what else.” Henry moans as he swallows another bite. “How the fuck does he do this? And how does he do it in a truck the size of our walk-in freezer?” Pez leans back against the wall. “Are you eating that or getting turned on by it, Henners?” Henry rolls his eyes, even as he tries to glare at his head sommelier. “Can’t I do both?” The sauce drips down his wrist and he shamelessly licks it off.

Thanks to a welcome day off, Henry and Alex spend a lazy morning in bed. Soft, mid-morning cuddles escalate into semi-soft, mid-morning sex.

"We found something in Arthur's things," Catherine says, without any preamble. "I've never really... gone through his personal effects properly, until now. It's been rather too difficult for me to face." Alex nods. ... "I found something for Henry, but it's... Well, it's actually for you." Alex blinks at her.
Date night (it's a tie) by TheAmberFox
“So here’s what’s going to happen, sweetheart. I want you to strip out of these clothes and get on the bed, so I can tie you to our headboard with both our stupidly boring ties and make you come until you can’t any more. Would you be amiable?”

“You seriously never heard of Henry?” Alex feels defensive. “Should I have?” he asks, and the guy stares at him for another second before a laugh escapes his lips. “Well, rumor has it he’s turned multiple people here gay.” Or, 5 times Henry brings a guy home and 1 time he doesn't have to. Or, Henry is a rumored sex god, Alex is his roommate, and he's jealous of everyone Henry brings through the front door.
Race You to Forever by allmylovesatonce
Alex comes up with the perfect proposal idea: He and Henry should compete for it. Henry is less than enthused, but agrees anyway. Neither of them could predict the strange things that happen when they're competing for who gets to propose to the other.
a rich and complex tapestry by everwitch
When Alex first hooks up with Henry, he's expecting a fun one-night-stand and maybe the occasional booty call. He does not expect to get so completely pulled into Henry’s orbit that it forces him to reevaluate everything he thought he knew about his sexuality. And he's not sure if it makes it better, or way worse, that Henry is actually a professional at all this stuff — what are the odds that Alex would hook up with the one guy on campus who hosts his own radio show about sex? 'Sleeping With Henry' is about to gain one devoted listener.
I fall to pieces when I'm with you by viciouslyqueer
If once is an accident, and twice is a coincidence, when it happens a third time Henry really starts to think about it. — Three times Alex doesn't want Henry to touch him and one time he understands why.

Henry's lower lip wobbles, and a fresh tear rolls down his cheek. Alex watches it track down to his chin, and wonders if Henry would mind him wiping it away. “I really was looking forward to seeing them.” Another tear escapes, and this time Alex can't help but lean forward and brush it away with his thumb. Henry's breath catches, and he looks at Alex, wearing an expression he can't quite parse. “Come home with me,” Alex blurts out. Henry's plans for Christmas fall through, so Alex invites him home for the holidays. They're best friends, strictly platonic roommates, so why does everyone think they're dating?

“What is it, then?” Henry asks. Alex glances up at him, and there’s laughter in his big brown eyes. “It’s porn,” he says gleefully. “In your handwriting.” While unpacking their office together, Alex comes across some very explicit Star Wars fanfiction written by none other than HRH Prince Henry himself.
we might just get away with it by smc_27
Henry is the most gorgeous man Alex has ever seen. And Alex has seen a lot of gorgeous men. He’s a fucking model. “This is Henry Fox-Mountchristen,” Prada’s current PR lead says, and Alex smiles and pushes his hand out. “He’s a journalist covering the merger.” Alex doesn’t know what merger or what it would have to do with Paris Fashion Week. But he does know that Henry holding a glass of champagne as he shakes Alex’s hand is maybe the sexiest thing ever, and there is just no explanation for that. “Hi. I’m Alex.” Henry says, “I know,” and then does this weird, forced smile at Bianca and walks away. Alex doesn’t know how to like, not be completely obsessed with things he wants. OR, Alex is a model. Henry is a journalist, and a bit of an asshole. Alex wants him anyway, even when it doesn’t feel good.
Someone Special by bleedingballroomfloor
"That was Shaan," Henry explains as Alex snuggles closer to him, pressing his nose to his neck. "The blizzard hit early, apparently. Too risky to fly." "So Christmas here?" Alex says in that sleepy drawl of his that Henry will never get tired of. "Fuckin' sweet."
Because I'm A Scoundrel by inexplicablymine
Alex Claremont-Diaz has exactly thirty minutes to make himself look as slutty as possible for this Halloween Gala. At this very moment he looks a little bit like a sexed up pirate, but with the addition of his small black vest - rest in peace to the Patagonia packers and finance brethren- and a low slung belt with a “blaster,” a very sex-on-legs Han Solo is looking back at him. Henry Fox, who is both a double scull rower with enough Olympic medals it would make anyone other than Alex sweat, and the definitive arch nemesis of Alex - is wearing a white sylvette Princess Leia costume, hugging his curves in all the right ways, the clingy fabric draping to the floor. When you and your arch nemesis show up to the most important gala of the year in a couples costume you either play it up or shut it down. Alex has a decision to make, but the way that dress is hugging Henry’s ass isn’t making that decision any easier.

Henry swallows. “You were going to propose to me tonight?” Alex nods. “I still am,” He says, throwing his hands out at his sides. “If I can find the damn ring.” “Right. But,” Henry reaches into his pocket and pulls the ring out of his pocket that he’d quite literally just picked up from the jeweler. “I was going to propose to you tonight.” He holds the ring box up between them. -- Or, Alex and Henry both want to propose.
every tale condemns me for a villain by tintagel
Alex Diaz is one of the worst villains to have come out of reality TV in a while. Just Henry's luck that he's doing a signing for his new autobiography at the bookshop. But it's tough to hate someone when you only see what's been edited together.

“Well, Alex–” and yep. Yeah. Yeah. His name sounds as nice in Henry’s mouth as he hoped it would. His vowels are open, wide, but he doesn’t hesitate when saying it. It comes out like he knows Alex, like he’s known Alex. He goes a little warmer at the thought, and if he were doing anything other than flirting with a very pretty boy, Alex would blame it solely on the alcohol. “–I’ve got to ask. Is there more to the getup?” That catches him off-guard, and he’s not entirely sure what Henry means, so he tilts his head like a dog watching something that interests him. Henry huffs out a laugh, but clarifies, “Perhaps I’m mistaken. The uh, the hanky. Cowboy, yeah?”

The man is gorgeous. Like, objectively. Long legs and wide shoulders and wavy blonde hair, cheekbones sculpted from marble, black pressed slacks and a robin egg blue button down, expensive loafers on his feet and a nametag pinned on his shirt… Alex doesn’t understand how someone can walk out of the house and just look like that. or, alex meets henry while studying in the library and is immediately interested
when you know, you know by vibrantsaturn
With shaky hands, Henry pulls out the ring from the box, looking at Alex with tearful eyes that he adores so much. Asks, "Alex, darling, will you marry me?" Alex lets out a watery laugh, swiping an arm across his face to get rid of the rapidly falling tears. He kneels down to cup Henry's face and brushes his thumbs across his cheekbones softly. "Baby. Don't you remember?" Alex whispers, leaning their foreheads together. "We're already married."  or, Alex "marries" his best friend when he's six-years-old. It just takes some time for them to fall in love, but they get there.
if you take a life, do you know what you'll give? by anincompletelist
It would have been one thing had Alexander’s job description been simply to stay in his hotel room and operate the funds covertly, an exceedingly safe distance away from Henry and any of Le Chiffre’s men. As it is, they’d instructed Alex to play the part of Henry’s date for the night, subsequently granting him the access he’d need to the private cardroom within the casino in order to report back to headquarters the funds needed in the precise moment Henry would need them. It's too dangerous, and he knows it. Henry's had a lot of blood on his hands in this life, but he refuses to have Alex's as well.

“Twenty-one-year-old Scotch,” the man says with a low whistle, looking more impressed than anything else. “Special occasion or just expensive taste?” Alex can’t stop his grimace. “Came up here to propose,” he says, even though this random stranger doesn’t need to hear his woes. “Found out my girlfriend’s getting back together with her high school sweetheart.” “Ouch,” the man replies, the word sounding slightly absurd in his rounded, posh accent. He looks at the bartender. “Leave the bottle.” (Dumped two days before Christmas by his girlfriend, Alex meets a British writer who's spending Christmas on his own in generic Tiny Town, USA, and together they discover something new to celebrate.)
the clementine thing by saintlynomenclature
And, really, it doesn’t matter whether or not Alex explains it to Liam and the rest of his friends. They’ve never really discussed it between themselves through the years. Slowly, Alex had gone from asking Would you please peel this for me? to Please? to silently extending the citrus without any comment at all, just a soft smile. It’s one of the things that make them Alex-and-Henry; the silent conversations and the contentment in each other’s company. Now, as Alex starts to flourish through his position on the lacrosse team, his slew of AP classes, and his role in student government, getting him to slow down at all is a feat. The only way that Henry can do it, guaranteed, is by one of those innocuous little fruits. There’s nothing Alex can’t do—surely, he could peel a fucking orange if he felt so inclined—but Henry delights in being able to do this for him. - Five times Henry shares a clementine with Alex, and one time Alex returns the favor
You're So Attractive; How Did That Happen by @sparklepocalypse
Henry is a big man. He’s tall — taller than either of his siblings and most of his cousins. His shoulders are broad. Years on horseback have helped him develop decent muscle mass. So when Alex storms into his life like a beautiful, infuriating tornado, Henry fully expects to continue feeling big. But Alex has ways of making Henry feel small, cherished, even precious. (Or, three things about Alex that make Henry feel wonderfully small, and one thing that doesn't.)
as always, if you want me to tag you for whatever reason just let me know. see you next week!

‘Batman: Mask of the Phantasm' 4K Blu-Ray
Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the most universally acclaimed film in the Dark Knight’s legendary cinematic history when the newly-remastered animated movie Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, comes to 4K Ultra HD for the very first time. From Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, the film will be available to purchase on 4K Ultra HD on September 12, 2023.
Tumblr media
The release will also include an all-new featurette Kevin Conroy: I Am The Knight, which takes a look at the legacy of Kevin Conroy, who voiced Batman for 30 years in film, television, video games and more.
Rooted in DC’s acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series and released theatrically on Christmas Day 1993, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm has not only been ranked by Time magazine as one of the 10 best Super Hero movies ever, but is also arguably the core fans’ all-time favorite Batman film. The movie has been rated at the top of the Dark Knight film franchise by such popular entertainment media as Empire, Screenrant and Paste. And in the ultimate mainstream salute for its time, Gene Siskel & Robert Ebert didn’t initially review the film during its theatrical release, but later dedicated a portion of their At The Movies weekly TV series to pay compliment to the film – and voice their regret for not giving it the attention it deserved during its original run – when Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was distributed for home entertainment.
Tumblr media
The 4K HDR/SDR remaster of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was sourced from the 1993 Original Cut Camera Negative and was scanned at 4K resolution. Digital restoration was applied to the 4K scans to remove dirt, scratches and additional anomalies, but special care was given to not touch the film grain or the animation cel dirt that was part of the original artwork. This is the first time since its theatrical release that it is presented in its 1.85 aspect ratio. The original 2.0 mix and the 5.1 tracks were remastered to remove or improve defects such as pops, ticks, dropouts and distortion.
The animated film features an all-star cast headed by the quintessential voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, alongside Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives, China Beach) as Bruce Wayne’s love interest, Andrea Beaumont, Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchise) as the Joker, Stacy Keach (Nebraska, Prison Break, Mike Hammer) as Phantasm/Carl Beaumont, Abe Vigoda (Barney Miller, The Godfather) as Salvatore Valestra, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (The F.B.I.) as Alfred, Hart Bochner (Die Hard) as Arthur Reeves, Bob Hastings (McHale’s Navy, The Poseidon Adventure) as Commissioner Gordon, Robert Costanzo (Forget Paris, City Slickers) as Detective Bullock, Dick Miller (Gremlins, The Terminator) as Chuckie Sol, and John P. Ryan (The Right Stuff) as Buzz Bronski. Additional voices included Pat Musick, Marilu Henner, Neil Ross, Ed Gilbert, Jeff Bennett, Jane Downs, Vernee Watson, Charles Howerton, Thom Pinto and Peter Renaday.
Tumblr media
The Batman: Mask of the Phantasm filmmaking team is composed of the award-winning core group behind Batman: The Animated Series. Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm directed the film from a screenplay by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, Martin Pasko and Michael Reaves, based on a story by Burnett.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm will be available on September 12, 2023 to purchase Digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu and more. 4K Ultra HD Discs will be available to purchase online and in-store at major retailers. Pre-order your copy now.

SYNOPSIS:
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm opens with the city's most feared gangsters being systematically eliminated, and assumed blame falling on the Caped Crusader. But prowling the Gotham night is a shadowy new villain, the Phantasm, a sinister figure with some link to Batman's past. Can the Dark Knight elude the police, capture the Phantasm and clear his own name? Unmasking the Phantasm is just one of the twists in this dazzling animated feature, which provides new revelations about Batman's past, his archrival the Joker, and Batman's most grueling battle ever - the choice between his love for a beautiful woman and his vow to be the defender of right.
SPECIAL FEATURES INCLUDE*:
Kevin Conroy: I Am The Knight (New Featurette) – For 30 years, Kevin Conroy defined Batman for multiple generations using only his voice, best exemplified in the landmark film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Conroy passed away in November 2022, but his legacy lives on in 15 films, nearly 400 episodes of animated television series, a dozen video games, and as a live-action Bruce Wayne in the Arrowverse’s 2019-2020 “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event. Several of Conroy’s contemporaries – including animation legend Bruce Timm, Batman producer Michael Uslan and revered voice actress Tara Strong – pay tribute to the star who remains the Dark Knight for millions of Batfans.
Bonus episode of Justice League: Unlimited featuring a cameo from Phantasm.

Hello, hello, angel! How are you today?
I can remember one story by @starynighty, called tag-along which has a very promising take on sex pollen! One of my faves really :)
As for other stories. I can't remember for the life of mine, but I will tag @oh-for-fic-sake, @viking-raider and @angryschnauzer as they all wrote Clark stories and might have something for you!

HAUNTED MANSION (2023)
Starring LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jared Leto, Creek Wilson, Hasan Minhaj, Charity Jordan, Steve Zissis, J.R. Adduci, Lindsay Lamb, Fedor Steel, Terence Rosemore, Mike Benitez, Erika Coleman            , Christopher Winchester, Jo Koy, Marilu Henner and Winona Ryder.
Screenplay by Katie Dippold.
Directed by Justin Simien.
Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. 123 minutes. Rated PG-13.
If the goal of this film was to top Eddie Murphy’s admirable trainwreck version of the Haunted Mansion from 2003, well then, mission accomplished.
That is not to say this version isn’t without its own shortcomings and issues, but for the first time in a long while with Disney, I went into this movie genuinely excited. This excitement could be possibly attributed to the fact that the Haunted Mansion has been my favorite, and most visited ride at the Disney Parks for almost 20 years now. Or it could be the early childhood nostalgia I had from repeated viewings of the 2003 version on DVD and being the most scared kindergartner you could find in the state of Pennsylvania whenever I would sit down to watch it. Call it whatever you will, but I was excited, nonetheless.
This film is the next big budget Disney film in a long line of commercial flops, and I’m sure the House of Mouse is hoping that this film will break the streak with its loaded cast (LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Jared Leto, Tiffany Haddish, Jamie Lee Curtis, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson) and screenplay written Katie Dippold (The Heat, Ghostbusters 2016). Unfortunately, for all 999 happy haunts, this movie is sandwiched in between two of the most talked about summer blockbuster films in recent memory, Barbie and Oppenheimer, or what is now known as Barbenheimer.
Walking into the theatre through the nearly 300 people all dressed in pink going to Barbie, we got to our seats and there was a really fun and excited vibe going through the audience, people actually cheered when the movie started (first time I’ve seen that since Avengers Endgame 2019). And overall the movie went over well with the crowd. The jokes for the most part landed when they needed to, and I felt the impact of a good amount of the emotional beats in the film.
Especially LaKeith Stanfield, who delivered a beautifully eloquent and emotionally powerful tearjerker of a monologue describing the things he loved about his deceased wife (much in contrast to Eddie Murphy’s painfully stiff and hard to watch line said to his abruptly killed wife “Sarah, I love you so much.”)
Another standout performance was Chase Dillon, who played Travis, the socially awkward young son of Gabbie (Rosario Dawson). You really felt for the kid throughout the movie, the loss of his father, not fitting in and, obviously, the fact that his house is extremely haunted. Of course, you get the usual on-brand performances from Wilson, DeVito and Haddish, although it’s nice to see that what they bring to the film is relegated to their supporting lead comic relief moments and doesn’t take away from the emotional moments and overall story.
This version of the Haunted Mansion is also filled to the brim with Easter eggs relating to the lore of the actual rides in the Disney Parks. It’s also great to see the hitchhiking ghosts make an appearance as they have been a personal favorite for the longest time. On that note, the spirits in this version have taken a massive leap in quality compared to their ‘03 counterparts as now some of them have genuinely scary moments (but let’s not forget the childhood trauma-inducing crypt scene that still sends shivers down my back just thinking about it.)
This version’s main antagonist is also a reference to Disney Park lore. The Hatbox Ghost (Jared Leto) was an animatronic placed in the attic scene that debuted alongside the ride itself but was removed in 1969 and wouldn’t be seen again until 2015. Leto himself in the role delivered some truly imposing moments of terror. Always as this black figure looming somewhere in the shadows until his big reveal. The scares in this film are also done fairly well as the film uses very modern horror techniques in its first scene with the mansion itself, which is very reminiscent of the 2017 adaptation of Stephen King’s It.
But here are the downsides. The film for the first two-thirds feels decently paced, thorough, and exciting, but jeez, if they didn’t lose themselves, and the plot in the last third. It felt like the movie had taken a complete turn and I felt as if I was watching a different movie.
Secondly, as much as I love Jamie Lee Curtis, I have to say Jennifer Tilly was significantly better as Madame Liotta, and throughout a majority of the film I just kept wishing she were back in the role, especially when Mrs. Curtis attempted whatever unspecified accent she was going for there.
And, as weird as this will sound, and I already know it will, I miss Terrence Stamp, General Zod himself, as the main antagonist. Ridiculous, over the top vibrato and all. He felt like such an imposing figure, and most importantly for me, he wasn’t CGI. Don’t get me wrong the Hatbox Ghost design is great, but I miss just a spooky old British guy popping up behind you and just being an intimidating presence on screen.
Again, is it better than the ‘03 version? Yes. Does it have flaws? Absolutely. But this film is the kind you can bring the family to when there’s nothing else to do and everyone will have a fun time based on the spectacle alone.
Early box office results for this film have it significantly below Barbenheimer and looking like another project where Disney is coming in below where they would like to be financially. Unfortunate, but not unexpected. But hey, if you’re a fan of Disney’s best ride (this is a non-arguable point, it’s been backed by science, just don’t ask which scientists) or you’re looking for an easy watching experience, this wouldn’t be a bad option whatsoever.

I love you. So much.

This painting is gorgeous, just like you and it so perfectly encapsulates so much of that scene: the mood of this image is so fitting, but also the muted, darker colors, the pose. I can see this so vividly. I don't even know what to say about this: "I find evidence of it in each and every painting I contemplate" except to tell you that I am honored and incredibly grateful to have found you on this site.
I love you with all my heart ❤

Birthday Celebration / Share the Love Fest Part 3
I'm going to go out on a limb here (for this and Part 4 coming) and tag a few people who have helped fan the flames of a new fandom of mine - Henry Cavill. //insert flame emoji// //insert panting emoji//
It is so fitting that I came to this corner of Tumblr based on a fic rec from a favorite SPN writer (see Part 2) and the first account I immersed myself in was @sillyrabbit81. Her Captain Syverson, especially Even If You Don't Mean It and And So Much More, is just the stuff of dreams. She has such an incredible way of creating this completely real man with quirks and flaws along with the hottest sex you ever wanted to read about. Seriously.
@plumfondler - I don't know if I've really explored her masterlist the way I should, but her Henry Cavill backrub drabble broke me. I need a reallllllly specific and careful kind of RPF and this one just did it. Amazing.
@just-chirpin - JC has a really detailed, self-discovery-while-falling-in-love-with-Sy story, ETS, on her masterlist that just makes you want to move to Georgia and casually run into him. Here's hoping she's been able to find time to get that next chapter on the books. ;)
@rmtndew - I've never seen MI6 and I probably never will, but I stumbled across this amazing series, Pretty in Pink, and I fell in love with August Walker. I love the way she wrote him and I love the little twisty, spy story. Just wonderful.
@mayloma - also a writer who captured my attention with some Henry RPF, but she's also got a Walter Marshall fic, The Light Side of Night, and I love this grumpy bear so much!
I've yet to dig into Geralt or Sherlock or some of his other characters, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
Thank you to the Cavillry for always bringing the heat!
I'm certainly going to investigate these fic recs, my thing for Henners only seems to be growing. My brother bought me a Geralt pop for my birthday 😁

What do you think about Henners being the new Highlander? 1. Scottish accent . 2. Swords 3. Kilts?!?!?! I'm a bit cynical of "reboots" and I love (love LOVE) the OG Highlander movie... but I want this one. I really REALLY do.
I was 100% skeptical when it was announced but having seen how he does Geralt i'm really looking forward to it.
And i sincerely hope we get a breezy shot of him in a kilt on a rugged rocky outcrop and get a flash of something 🍑

I think my dad raised me the best he could what with my mother and home life. But especially after they split and we’d spend weekends with him. He’s a lot like me. Not too talkative except about his interests. (Yeah he’s on the spectrum too but doesn’t know it.) He has anger problems (so so I), he doesn’t stand up to people except at work. He’s passive aggressive at times. But.
He’s a great dad. And I’ve been watching old shows on paramount+ like Cheers and Taxi (and I gotta find Three’s Company omg) and I just have all these memories of being at his place, my brothers in bed, and my dad letting me stay up half the night watching these shows on repeats. Obviously, a lot went over my head, but god. These shows are still so good. They’re hilarious. And I know so many actors from their earliest roles over their biggest.
Most people: Christopher Lloyd! From Back to the Future!!
I’ve always been: Christopher Lloyd! From Taxi!
Tony Danza, Judd Hirsh, Danny DeVito, Jeff Conway….I know them all from sitting up in the dark with my dad, eating his stovetop homemade popcorn and just….zoning out with fun characters.
My dad gave me great taste in things from a young age. Tv shows, movies, music, puns/dad jokes…
I’m not sure what my point here is, but watch these old shows. They’re so good. (Even if entirely white.)
Also I was in love with Marilu Henner and Elaine, and didn’t know then that it was in a lesbian kinda way. Lol. She’s amazing (she also has this condition where she has the perfect memory??)

Announcement: Project Witcher First Part 1 Nearly Done
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@littlefreya @evansabove1981 @elizabetharegina @thewitchersdaily @geralts-yenn @henrycavillfan @henrycavilledits @resowrites @confessionbrain-writings @angryschnauzerwrites etc)
When I started this project I never thought I'd get this far even after our beloved Henry announced he was " laying down his mallidon"! I started this thinking of him when I continue this is a combination of all the effort I've put in to create this story. Though I will say that since Henry's announcement I've never forgot his version of Geralt of Rivera we all know that he is a massive fan of the games and the books.
I do not believe for one minute that Henry wanted things all his own way at all. Yes he has worked hard on The Witcher and I completely disagree with what other people have said about him. I understand that Henry had put a lot of effort into recreating the character from the novels by sapkowski we all know that if he hadn't have given up he would STILL playing Geralt. In my eyes Henry is better Geralt the ratings will go down now that Henry has left many only watched because of their love for him.
I have no doubt that when season 3 finally emerges that we all be there for him as the Cast will be. As for me and Project Witcher I am debating on putting it into two books in one so that when Henners gets the chance to read it yes the book is for him I wanted to do this for him so that he had a way of remembering Geralt I'm sure he will always remember him.

Three Nights in Paris
30th June - 6th July
When in Paris we stay at the ‘Port de Paris Arsenal’ where you can be sure the Sapeur Pompiers (very fit French firefighters) will prevent your boat from sinking. The beautiful “Petrus III’ was soon on an even keel thanks to those brave boys in neoprene.

Paris in the summer. A city of long days and short nights.
The Paris Mairie has been renovating since we were last moored at the Arsenal Port located next to the Bastille.
Previously the port was mostly secured after 10pm from the general public. Now however, after removing the roundabout at the Bastille column and creating instead a public (curved) square the noisy, singing, partying, ‘happy its summer’ public can wander past the boats moored on the green side of the port until they go home. At 5am….or whenever.
It’s a big city. You expect noise and people. That is part of the fun.
Fortunately we were moored on the other side of the port, rafted up to a welcoming French live-aboard.
The port bridge features in the last episode of ‘Lupin’. This is for you, Bernie.

This time in Paris we wanted to visit some of the smaller museums we hadn’t seen before. With this in mind we went first to the ‘Musee National Jean-Jacques Henner’  and had it all to ourselves. Along with security guards who rarely looked up from their phones. Henner was an artist who typified everything the Impressionists were reacting against.
Tumblr media
He won the ‘Prix de Rome’ and exhibited in the Salon shows many times and was given all sorts of awards and commissions during his lifetime. His work is lovely but deeply conservative. His museum is in the building he lived and worked in through his lifetime. No long queues here.
Tumblr media
As we were in the bourgeois right bank ‘Grand Boulevards’ area we came across the covered arcades. I have been wanting to explore them for years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They were around the corner from where we ate lunch: the entertaining and more than 120 years old ‘Bouillion Chartier’ restaurant.
Tumblr media
The doorman and waiters made a point of being as charismatic and delightful as possible. The food might have been fairly Coles cafeteria (but with snails and bloc de foie gras de canard on the menu) but the experience was memorable for all the right reasons.
Tumblr media
Our Paris visit coincided with Flemington friends Barbara and Ian and we all visited Musee National Picasso Paris.
Tumblr media
The excellent exhibition concentrated on Picasso’s daughter Maya Ruiz-Picasso. Many of the artworks featured her and were also given by her to the state in order to avoid significant taxes.
Picasso was such a prolific artist. Able to produce enough artworks to have shows in both Paris and Melbourne at the same time.
Tumblr media
I was very excited to see Picasso’s ‘Bulls Head’ made from a bicycle seat and handle bars,
Tumblr media
and Duchamp’s provocative ‘Fountain’ previously only seen by me in black and white photos in my Janson’s ‘History of Art’ book from school days.
Tumblr media
After three nights in Paris we wanted somewhere cool and green and shady so we motored up the Marne river where we were still on the Metro system. Suburb-wise it was like being in Belgrave but we were only 8km from the centre of town.  Because we were so close to Paris I left Mark to install solar panels and took advantage of the first Sunday in the month when most of the museums are free to visit the ‘Musee de L’Orangerie’ for the first time.
Tumblr media
It’s permanent collection contained some of my favourite Picassos…
Tumblr media
and the curated exhibition focused on ‘The Decorative Impressionists’. It contained wonderful, often early Impressionist artworks, when they were commissioned to paint interiors. I don’t usually like Renoir but this one was fetching.
Tumblr media
It was refreshing to see some of the women Impressionists featured such as Berthe Morisot
Tumblr media
and Mary Cassatt.
Tumblr media
We stayed on our pontoon which was fitted with a security gate (so secure even small children could open it so as to paddle in the water as the weather hotted up) for 5 nights so we could have a final evening with Di and Graeme before they returned to The Netherlands.
Tumblr media
Time now to head north-east into the Champagne district. Fingers crossed there will be enough water in the canals.

Today Live, Hal Linden! I’m literally pinching myself. Thank you Max Gail for enabling this to happen. I loved Barney Miller, and everyone in it, especially Hal and Max. Topping even that, on break from the hit show, my father, Larry Katz, a borscht belt Master of Ceremonies, shared a bill with Hal at the Yiddish Theatre in New York. My father not only introduced him but sang to open for him, as well. Hal was one of his heroes. To say my father was over the moon is a gross understatement. He was euphoric.
Hal’s career has spanned more than 65 years on stage, television, and in film. Best known for his portrayal of police precinct captain Barney Miller in the hit television series that aired from 1975-1982, which earned Hal Emmy nominations every year it was on as well as multiple Golden Globe nominations. Hal won two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Individual Achievement for his host work on the children’s show, Animals, Animals, Animals.
Hal made his Broadway debut in 1957 in the musical Bells Are Ringing opposite Judy Holliday and subsequently toured with the national company.  He later starred in the 1962 Off-Broadway revival of Cole Porter’s 1930s hit Anything Goes. To date, he’s performed in more than 20 Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. His numerous stage credits include On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Subways Are for Sleeping, The Apple Tree, The Pajama Game, The Sisters Rosenzweig, A Christmas Carol, Tuesdays With Morrie, I’m Not Rappaport, Something More, The Education of Hyman Kaplan, Three Men on a Horse, Chicago, Cabaret, The Gathering and The Rothschilds, for which he won the 1971 Tony Award for Best Actor In A Musical.
Hal’s TV appearances have included The Golden Girls, The Nanny, Touched by an Angel, Law & Order, Will & Grace, The King of Queens, Hot in Cleveland, 2 Broke Girls and  Grey's Anatomy, and a recurring role on The Bold and The Beautiful, to name but a few.
Currently, Hal’s readying to co-star with Marilu Henner in Ed Weinberger’s, The Journals of Adam and Eve.
We’ve spoken on the phone. Twice. I’m giddy with excitement. This one’s for you, Larry Katz!
