ok on the topic of couples and music

i really like to blend music taste that flows well when put together like for example

- Frances and Icarus, Icarus enjoys more new wave with a hint of 90’s alt/rock meanwhile Frances loves to listen to goth and grunge music so when I think of them combined I think of artists like Mazzy Start, etc etch

- Then there’s Atlas and Taryn. Atlas’s music taste is much more emotional and sort of melancholic while Taryn is a bit more indie with a hint of folk. So together I think of dreamy bands like Beach House and Foxes in Fiction

- Another pairing I try not to disclose too much LOL but I think about is Ares and Dan. I think a lot about how Ares favorite band is The Strokes and Dan likes more groovier artists like Tame Impala and Still Woozy so when I blend that I think of The Marias

The list keeps going even with Gum and Syx and Kai and Alex and AHH ye

oh yeah re:playlists

sure I share my longass playlists with friends but that is generally if i have a pretty good idea of what they like or if they're looking for something new to listen to.

one bubbly and cutesy character may have a mostly J-pop and eurobeat saturated playlist while another may be kinda gloomy and edgy and have darkwave and industrial tunes. a 70s themed character will have 70s pop and rock (but especially prog rock lol)

but yeah. i tend to be biased towards electronic music in most cases but i do like supplementing with appropriately themed music.

music tastes can be very particular and I'm pretty picky about what i might get into. acoustic guitars are definitely one thing i am aggressively not fond of due to their overuse, but depending on how it's played, how the vocalist sounds, what the song is about may change my mind. but on most part, naw thank you. (looks at lutes in medieval and renaissance music) you're on thin ice.

Dying Light, first scary game that I met on a friend's computer, soundtrack from menu was in my head for a long time. And what a moment, get out from the shelter at night, knowing about the hunters was very unpleasant. We moved very carefully, tried to avoid any danger, and then everything turned into stealth…. A city plagued by contagion, with no big buildings, a city that not going to get any help…. TheFatRat, and music pack from *sigh* Dota 2... Was chosen because he's my favorite musician, and it's his only work for video games…. Sad choice of course, and the best music pack in the game? I have a negative attitude towards competitive games, but Christian's work makes me happy and I've been waiting for every piece of his art since 2021. Katana Zero - The game features many musicians giving many different emotions, and only the Designer, Programmer, Scriptwriter in one person gave the best and most dramatic soundtrack in the whole game, wonderfully constructed scene, selected written soundtrack. I cried for the first time from a video game at that very moment. I will definitely wait for the DLC, but for now all that's left to play is fan works that try but fail to reach the level of the original.

I've been on a music kick lately, and it's got me curious about other people's habits. Do you listen to music while you write, and if you do, what kind of music?

Music!! I love music :D

I have to be honest here. I listen to music almost all the time. I even go to sleep with music playing.

While writing, I absolutely listen to music. I have noise canceling headphones now (and god what a blessing those things are!) and I listen through them.

I'm audhd, and my adhd is mixed type. Most of my hyperactivity goes on in my head. There is *constantly* smth going on in there: my own voice internally saying my every thought, a segment of a song stuck in my head, the thing someone said a month ago that I'm still trying to figure out if they were mad or not, what I need to buy for groceries, when was the last time I showered, etc etc.

So. The music (with words!) helps distract from the background noise enough for me to actually focus on what I'm trying to write.

As for what I listen to, I like hard rock/ alternative/metalcore for my day to day listening. Bands like asking alexandria, bring me the horizon, dayseeker, bad omens, halestorm, spiritbox, i prevail...

But I also listen to classic rock, 90's and some older country, jimmy buffett (sad face- he died recently), and some other things I wouldn't really know how to classify.

I'm pretty selective with rap, don't like most r&b, really don't like jazz, and can't do instrumentals- I've always found them boring and they do nothing to quiet the noise in my head.

Basically, I just pick a song I like to listen to repeatedly and just let youtube make me a station. Heartbreak feels so good by fallout boy, sleep token in general, and passenger by boston manor have been my go tos recently.

I'm back here again, on my quest to... what am I doing??

Hello! I'm Emerson, or Em, or Poindexter. I'm a traditional and digital artist, but for the most part, I share my digital art.

My art is fanart most of the time, consisting of fandoms such as FNAF and creepypasta. I may draw my cat sometimes, who knows?

I'm working on projects at the moment: a headcanon comic for the FNAF timeline (FNAF: Hurricane), and an alternate universe comic for the late 2000s/early 2010s creepypasta characters (The Abyss).

For those that want to know, I work with Clip Studio Paint EX (I think), and Huion Kamvas 12 display tablet.
