I’m starting to genuinely consider Michael and Ness as a ship.

I can just imagine Ness, about to ask him on a date, just in a little bow tie and button shirt, looking like a fucking nerd with his bouquet of flowers. Mike looks like he hasn’t slept in three years, glaring at him from the front door.

I don't know if he'd do cooking, but maybe they figure out a system where he shotguns the smoke to Will and he blows it out a bit farther away.

The show already zooms onto their hands. Imaging a shot where its zoomed into their lips, not their face, you can only recognize the by a quick flicker of flame or by their hands, and they just pass the cigarette to the other also all zoomed in.

But you are right. Hannibal and Will are very tactile characters. I think Hannibal would ban smoking in the kitchen or at least while actively cooking. Hannibal could step aside while something is in the oven or simmering and meet Will where he is and share a cigarette.

I mean, Hannibal could just shotgun it right back into Will's mouth so the smoke is nowhere near the food.
