DREAM JOB: I kinda have a dream job right now, because I work at an LGBT library, as the librarian, but I don't like my schedule and also I'm volunteering so I'm not getting paid. I would like to live off as a writer tho, that has been my dream since I was a kid and I found out you could actually write stories for a living.

DREAM TRIP: Finland, to see the northern lights.

Yesterday marked a month since I got diagnosed with Covid and today I nearly collapsed because I dared to try to lightly exercise. My lungs felt like when you suck in a lungful of freezing cold air, like it hurts and burns all through your chest, and I could barely get my breath. So I guess I officially have Long Covid. Indie/Contemporary Folk

During and after the pandemic, my musical sensibilities shifted considerably based on my relationship with my immediate surroundings. Long story short, now that I didn't have to go to fucking Public School, it was a lot easier to realize that I lived in a beautiful town that I could explore and connect to all on my own.

This was the kind of music that I listened to while drinking tea on the porch with my cat, biking to the shore, walking into the woods, thinking about the boy i still liked. those days kind of served to clue me in that i was a real person with a real life to live i guess lol

Post-Punk (The Weird Kind)

I'm not very good with music labels so I really didn't know what Post-Punk entailed for a while. But looking into it, I realized it's a really broad label covering a lot of shit that I really like.

Post-punk mostly encompasses some of the experimental artsy type nerd music I like!! Devo! Talking Heads! Squid! Viagra Boys! Technically it also encompasses the gothic rock stuff above too but. Oh well. Hey you should listen to squid listen to them do it

regina spektor is a violent zionist, but i don't think it's constructive or honest at all for people to be like "well her art was always bad anyway." some terrible people have made great art. This idea that artists with unsavory morals can't make good art (1) only feeds into some people's mindset that if they dislike something, that MUST mean there is something ideologically wrong with it, and (2) some people then take longer to realize the true colors of their favorite artists because... good artists can't be ethically bad right?? and so they hang on to their faves and pretend they are so righteous and defend their every move when sometimes. sometimes you just gotta accept that your favorite art was made by somebody you don't agree with, and you have to identify how much you are willing to support someone like that and what lines you have that can't be crossed

i'm not in school anymore (that was years ago) but i went down the piano -> violin -> string bass -> cello pipeline! still have my 19 year old cello (mikey) and my 22 year old violin (sherry). i play them every now and then when i have the time :)
