Hello!
I am a person who is writing his own Interactive Fiction game. I currently have about 50k words written for it and will probably be making a forum thread soon. But I really need some advice from you as your game is one of my favourite.
The thing I am struggling with is my plot seems a bit bland to me and I just don't know what to do about it. Like I at the start only decided my game is going to be very reactive to choices and I have loads of meaningful choices and lots of variables remembering lots of things. But when I read through what I have written so far it feels a bit meh. Like your game is soooo intriguing as a reade. So my question was how do I make the plot more intriguing?? Sorry for the long ass post
I'm probably not the best person to ask about this; I go through cycles of self-doubt at least a few times a month 😞
But I'll do my best to help!
First of all, 50k words for an initial demo is impressive! HM had around 28k words when I first uploaded a public demo (which was just the first version of the prologue), so you're doing very well!
I think it would help tremendously for you to sit down and figure out what themes you wish to put focus on. It doesn't mean that you can't tackle a few others as you write, but it's always good to set goals like this to maintain consistency and make their presence strong in the story. It doesn't have to be something "grand"; it just needs to be clear in your head.
It's cool to aim for your choices to be meaningful, but watch out for scope creep. Not that I can talk; I have way too many variables tracking the MC's actions/dialogue choices as well as routes that not many will ever know about. And they can be fun! Just remember that fun doesn't always remove the stress attached to those boosts of excitement. I'd say try to focus on choices/variables you're sure you can deal with, particularly those that can enhance the quality of your plot, and you can decide to add more once you're certain you can handle them.
I have no way of knowing you're not already doing this, but well-developed characters help the impact of the plot grow stronger. Their fears, motivations, what they need to see vs what they have currently. Humans are complex beings, and for me, it's always interesting to try and explore that complexity. I love exploring it.
Try to talk to a friend about what you have at the moment! It helps to have some who'd never mince their words and are willing to give honest feedback while being helpful at the same time. In a way, it can be encouraging to know you have someone to depend to, and I hope you can find them if you haven't met such a person yet.
It's a first draft!! This is something I also keep telling myself, though it doesn't necessarily help me clear out all doubts all the time. But you should at least be aware of it. This is the first time I'm creating an IF, but I did a lot of film screenplays before, and my first drafts always sucked. It's why rewrites are not a foreign concept to me, and why I know HM might go through a lot of changes before I settle on its final version. But I do think both readers and writers should be aware of the fact that first drafts aren't supposed to be perfect; and WIPs, no matter how long they are, shouldn't be expected to have no flaws at all.
I cannot stress this out more, but taking walks outside or even doing the most mundane of errands can help to clear your mind! Try to take some rest; it might even give you some perspectives you haven't thought of before :))
I think that's all I can give for now, and I hope you're having a great time writing so far! I do want to remind you that you'll have to find methods that personally work for you as well, whether you're a plotter, a pantser, or something in between. It's why I haven't been too specific with the things I said; it's best for you to try and see what actually works for you as a writer. Best of luck <3

Hey guys,
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I'm just updating you on where we are at with Grimfel.
The demo was due to be released at the end of the month but if I'm honest its going to need another two weeks to ensure everything is in place for that 1-2 hour play through.
Tumblr media
The coding is what is taking up my time. I'm a sole developer and I do most of the art myself with AI so it was a massive undertaking which I've enjoyed working day and night on. Over the past few weeks I've created 100 portraits for both male/female human/elf. All of which have a unique set of variables which will trigger unique reactions on your playthrough. I have even placed a custom avatar section which backers will find their custom portraits in once the game is finished.
I'm excited to show you Grimfel. So I'm going to do a compromise because I don't want to leave you empty handed. On the 31st Oct 11 PM GMT I'm going to release the full character creator so you can preview what I have been working on.
You'll then be able to save your character and carry on when the demo comes out. Though please bear in mind the art may be changed for the final version.
As of right now, I'm incorporating luck rolls and variables into the story content. I'm putting together all of the content so that everything works out of the box. Though if you do come across any bugs please report it in the discord section '#bugs-and-feedback'
I'll share the link through Kickstarter. For now it'll be available as an .exe for Windows or run through web browser for every device. Any issues at all please feel free to message me via Discord

What is the meaning of Humanities and Social Sciences ?
Tumblr media
The humanities and social sciences is the study of human behaviour and interaction in social, cultural, environmental economic and political contexts.
Tumblr media
To pursue my career in becoming a teacher in the future I choose Humanities and social sciences,it's for students who are curious about what is on the other side of the fence. In other words, i am prepared to face the world and speak with a large number of people. This is for anyone thinking about majoring in journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, or other social science-related fields in college. This strand could lead to a career as a teacher, a psychologist, a lawyer, a writer, a social worker, or a reporter in the future.
Tumblr media
As a matter of fact ,I'M AN INTROVERT. I'm the kind of person who is quite in large of group or in public.I love to think rather than talk. You can only see the real me if we're close, smile and laugh a lot especially at the most anppropriate times. I'm awkward, clumsy, shy, strange but this is me take it or leave it.I typically sensitive to noise yet i enjoy being alone.I hate tellin??on people about my problems, cause they don't need to worry about me.To be honest, I'm the one who listens to other people's problems and comforting them.
Tumblr media
But it doesn't mean that if I am an introvert I can't fulfilled my dream to became a teacher someday. I know that the path for my dreams is not that easy. But this doesn't mean that I will surrender,as a matter of fact this will make me stronger and have the perseverance to be able to achieve my dream. Because I believe that I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me!.So , as a learner I want to improve my skills, to achieve my goal and fullfilled my mother dreams that her dream in becoming a teacher too .She lost her dream in becoming an educator or it's disappeared because she is a mother at the age of 17 so as her 2nd daughter ,I want to fulfill it not just because of my mother but together with my father who past away last month .
Is becoming a teacher is right for me?
Tumblr media
That question sometimes coming in my mind . But I believe that if I become a teacher I can educate many students . Because a Teachers can shape young minds in a way that has a lifelong impact. The job requires the right personality, temperament, and mindset to be the best teacher possible. Before committing the time and money necessary to obtain a teaching degree and training, I ask myself if my personal and professional interests fit with the teaching profession. I'll also want to be fully aware of the educational and certification requirements necessary to becoming a teacher. To help with this important decision-making process, I ask myself the following questions:
• Am i patient?
•Do I have a passion on helping others?
•Can I think outside the box?
• Am i a conscientious and organized person?
Tumblr media
So , Before choosing a teaching program, I should identify my teaching preferences. Basically, I ask myself why i want to become a teacher. By answering this question, i'll be able to determine my preferred grade level, the subject matter, and if there are any special students i'd like to teach. Knowing this information not only shapes which teaching degree and training path to take, but also tells me what kind of classes to take and organizations to join.
How Long Does It Take to Become a Teacher?
Tumblr media
The time it takes to become a teacher depends on three significant variables: my education and professional experience, what I want to teach, and my state's teaching certification requirements. But as a general rule, it takes at least a bachelor's degree plus a teaching license to become a teacher. This means to became a teacher can expect to spend four to five years in school and working towards certification.
Students who attend school full-time to earn a bachelor's degree may be able to start teaching soon after graduating, assuming they have begun the certification process while still in school Other students may need to add about a year to the four years it takes to earn a bachelor's degree to complete the certification or licensing requirements. If a master's degree is required, another two or so years can be added to the total time it will take to start working as a teacher.

As a lesbian, what is it like to like dick? I need this answer spiritually
Aha, well... To get the spiritual food you need, I hope you don't mind that this got a little long ^^;;
I'll preface this by saying that there are lesbians who like dick as well, it's just that aforementioned dicks are usually attached to women or feminine-aligned folks, yeah~? Not saying that that necessarily applies to you, but it's worth noting. I understand you probably didn't mean any harm, but when you phrase a question like that it can come across as being transmisogynistic or erasing lesbians who date folks with penises. As such, it's important to me to address it first and foremost.
To get to the nitty gritty of the question, though, being in a relationship and doing sexual acts with someone who has a penis is,, pretty much the same as doing that stuff with anyone? By which I mean to say, no matter who you're getting into bed with, no matter what they've got in their pants, you're going to need to work out your boundaries and what you're comfortable doing with them all the same.
Every relationship is unique. Every partner you have is gonna bring different limits, wants, and needs to the table. I can't exactly generalize the experience of loving them based on their genitalia (^^;)ゞ I may as well try and describe what's it like to be into blondes, or people who are shorter than me, or folks who have love handles. Breaking up humanity into groups based on those features or on their private parts is going to yield a far too variable group for me to accurately state that "dating someone who has ___ is going to be like like ___."
As disatisfying as it may be to hear, the only honest answer I can give is that the experience of liking dicks depends on the individual people they're a part of, just like it does for anyone with any set of genitals.
