What is Jim’s plan here?

Regarding “only Trollhunter will know”:

What if the Ghost Trollhunters also remember the other timeline?

Jim can lean on that for credibility points.

What if Jim loses his memory of the other timeline now that he’s arranged for someone else to pick up the amulet?

A) Jim isn’t expecting that to be an issue, because “I am the Trollhunter, amulet or not,” but just in case ...

B) That’s why he set up his highest-priority plans (aka, the ships he was hoping would set sail, aka, making his mom and alt-timeline girlfriend happy) on that first day, before pointing Toby towards the amulet.

What if Toby gets back his memories of the other timeline?

Jim figures he and Toby have basically the same information on most topics, and that Toby will forgive Jim for trying to save his life even if the method put each of them in different danger.

Regarding Toby:

Jim’s planning to use his future-knowledge to steer Toby through and around most of the danger, as his best friend and Trusted Advisor.

(But Seriously, What The Hell, Jim?!

Being the Trollhunter directly led you into most of the traumatic experiences you’ve had recently, and you’re just turning that over to your best friend?

There are a lot of ways for Toby to potentially die besides apocalyptic battles, Jim!)

Regarding Claire:

Since Jim isn’t the Trollhunter, he won’t be missing play rehearsals all the time, and will therefore have more chances to talk to and bond with her. Also, he already knows his lines, which should impress everyone.

Regarding Strickler, and Barbara:

In Unbecoming, Strickler initially attacks Jim when Jim reveals he knows Strickler is a Changeling - but, it takes less than a minute for Strickler to switch sides once he realizes Jim is not hostile-on-principle towards Changelings, and Strickler is then literally willing to die for Jim.

In the post-Titans redo timeline, since Jim seems to be laying the groundwork for getting Strickler and Barbara together early, I’m guessing Strickler will start having second thoughts about releasing Gunmar before Killahead Bridge is fully rebuilt, and at the very least will try to warn the Lakes and/or get them to safety, perhaps under the guise of a “vacation”.

Then Jim will reveal he knows Strickler is a Changeling and why he’s really trying to get the Lakes out of Arcadia Oaks, and Strickler will officially change sides. Barbara will be mad at both of them, but forgive Jim because “It wasn’t my secret to tell, Mom,” and forgive Walter because “centuries of habit are hard to break”.

Regarding Blinky, AAARRRGGHH, Draal, Vendel, and everyone else in Trollmarket:

Jim is assuming Toby will not keep being Trollhunter a secret from him and therefore Jim will get to meet everyone again. He’ll try to steer the timeline away from Draal getting brainwashed and killed, and away from Vendel getting murdered.

Regarding the Changelings and Familiars in general:

I don’t think Jim has considered a plan here, beyond maybe “I know where the Triumbric Stones are this time around, so a rescue mission to the Darklands will be less risky.”

Regarding Douxie, Archie, Aja and Krel:

Again, I don’t think Jim is thinking about them yet. If Angor Rot shows up again Jim might suggest going to Douxie for magical help.

So, did Jim make the right decision?

In my opinion, no, for meta reasons: because ending a story with time-travel undoing everything is the magic/sci-fi equivalent of “and then they woke up, and it had all been a dream”, which is frustrating. It can make character developments within the past timeline by everyone but the time-traveler seem futile.

Undoing everything in the hopes of getting it right next time, and expecting that to read as a ‘happy ending’, is a story trope that I feel works better in fanfic than in canon. It appeals to me more if it’s the beginning or middle of a story.

But I think Jim did at least have a general outline of a plan, not just an impulsive “undo everything and hope for the best” mentality.

... Wait. A. Flipping. Minute.

Did Merlin foresee this happening? Was this what that shit the wizard pulled in ‘Unbecoming’ was about?! Impressing upon Jim the importance of thinking through your ‘reset time and start over’ goals?!

Damn it, now I have to respect that bastard just a little bit.

Infinite Loop Theory:

Jim and Toby are unknowingly perpetually trading the Amulet back and forth between them, each trying to find a way to defeat the Titans without his best friend/surrogate brother dying, finally dying to save him instead, only to have that loop’s Trollhunter become the next loop’s Time Traveler with the same intention.

STAGE 1 Of Children Of The Sun AU

Before I start this, I'd like to say that this is totally for fun and I enjoy Tales Of Arcadia immensely (Though the movie is something I will be blatantly ignoring). This is just a take some ideas and things I would change to make it more enjoyable for me personally.

I'm not sure how many stages of this will be. But this is stage one, which is literally counting ep 1 and 2.

Our lovely new and improved timeline begins in space. Or to be more precise, on a desolate planet, where General Morando is organizing his troops. He and his lieutenants are looking at a map of Akaridion-5 (I will be shortening it to A-5). Morando makes a vital change to his plan. Allowing them access to A-5 9 months before the attack in the original timeline. (I personally headcanon in a way that Trollhunters started in September, and 3Below started in May).

When Morando does attack, both Aja and Krel are in the same area, to be specific, the announcement of their king and queen in waiting titles. Varvatos is not present, leading there to be some slight suspicion, but not much at the beginning. Zadra does still stay behind, and King Faiklov and Queen Coranda still get blasted, so their cores have to regenerate. (I believe that A-5 wasn’t very well protected during Krel’s coronation in the original timeline, so I think there will be a lot more damage done to Morando’s fleet. Leaving the invasion on Earth till much later).

Krel and Aja land on earth the exact same morning Jim picks up the amulet. Eli manages to see both the spaceship crash land and Bular’s and Kanjigar’s fight. Leading to Eli trying to tell people, catch the attention of Steve, Aja, Krel, Jim, Claire, Toby. (You can tell from the get-go that Eli has a more prominent part of this story.)

Jim and Toby’s mornings go the exact same way that it did in the Original Timeline. I liked how it went and I wouldn’t change that. Same with Aja, Krel, and Varvatos getting their transductions (I think that all three should be latino though, just to make it a bit more realistic). Also Mother is actually up-to-date on human culture, as funny as it was, it will make more sense.

The second major change that really affects this timeline (the first being Morando’s change in plans) is that Archie doesn’t stay in the bookstore (now we don’t honestly know what happened that day with Douxie, but I like to believe that he was at the cafe while Archie napped in the bookstore). But with this I am going to say Archie was bored of sleeping, and decided to go out for a walk. Leading him to discover both Jim with the Trollhunter amulet and Aja and Krel actually being alien. Archie goes to Douxie and obviously tells him about the goings on, and they begin their plan to interfere (somewhat).

First starting with Jim. Douxie and Archie go to Jim’s house, (this is after Blinky and AAAAAARRRGH!!!! appearance), and manage to basically break in and wake Jim up. Slight chaos ensues. But the explanation gets across: Douxie is going to help Jim.

3RD BIG DECISION THAT CHANGES THE TIMELINE: Strickler assigned an assignment he wasn’t planning on doing. In groups of four: Jim, Eli, Steve, and Toby. Jim tries out the amulet the same night under the prompting of the other 3. Leading to a team of sorts is formed. The same night, Douxie goes to Aja and Krel, explaining the situation.

So basically in 2 nights' time, 10/13 of the team is formed (I’m including Varvatos, Blinky, AAAAAARRRGH!!!!, Zadra, Draal, and Claire) I am calling this Stage 1/? (at the moment)

ROTT Review

SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE. You have been warned.

FYI: I just finished the movie. So my opinions may change a bit but here I am writing a full review.

Before I talk about the movie, I have to say this movie has fantastic animation. The music is as good as usual.

Ok now the story. Let’s start with the our Trollhunters.

Fair Lady Claire. My girlie Claire really brought her all into this. I’m really proud of the young woman she has grown up into. However for the sake of the plot and story they make her run out of magic juice quite a bit. But my girl is still the best and gives it her all.

Wingman Domzalski. I will be perfectly honest. Toby is kind of the annoying best friend at times and bothers me as a plus size person. (They really push the over eating thing to the point that it’s his biggest factor.) Toby is a very eager kid who is ready to get in the action. Never being negative to his friend but the best emotional support who will always be at his side. Sure Toby was used a bit as comedic relief in the movie but when push comes to shove, Toby will always be there to do the right thing.

Blinky is amazing as always. One of the best father figures out there.

Aarrrgh was there. Was great for the scenes he was in, but all together didn’t do much that altered the story.

Our Trollhunter, Jim Lake Jr. Someone I admire and basically see as my little brother/child. Kiddo really did it. I know everyone is upset that Jim’s arc was redone when we had the “Unbecoming” episode. If I could come to a peaceful middle ground, I saw we all need to blame Merlin. He really rocked Jim’s world and self worth. When the creator of the object you need to save the world with tells you “You’re not enough”, it really can be a great setback. But once we past that, Jim really pulled through. Amulet or not, he is our Trollhunter.

Mommy Dr. Lake was there. Barbara was mostly there for our emotions.

Dilf Strickler. I felt that he was changed a bit since we last saw him, but he had a new purpose. He was more cautious and happy because he had a chance at a happy life with Barbara. Which makes what happens to him more upsetting.

Nomura my sweet. This movie did not deserve you. At least she was with Draal.

And Not-Enrique (seriously why didn’t they ever give him an actual name) just wasn’t in the movie.

How about some CreepSlayers?

BABY ELI PEPPERJACK CAME BACK LOOKING SO CUTE. So proud.

Bumbling knight oaf Steve the Palchuckian was great as usual.

I will say though. The whole pregnancy plot was just a way to get Eli and Steve out of the way. I could feel that the writers maybe didn’t like Steve so much since Wizards. But Steve was once again someone to laugh at. Pregnant and out of the way.

How about some Akiridions?

Aja my darling girl, oh how you’ve grown. I understand some think she has changed. However I must say that her preparing a plan B on the side was smart. She isn’t just a princess on earth anymore. She is a queen on a distant planet. So if she thought evacuation was best, it would ensure that everyone would live. And avoid losing more valuable people from her life. So no, I can’t blame her.

DJ Kleb was there. He was kinda doin his own thing and messing with Steve. Brother-in-law stuff.

It was good to see Varvatos Vex.

Stu was the man in the background working on the busy important things like working on the amulet. Personally I feel like the series REALLY underutilizes Stu A LOT so I was so happy to see him being a part of something huge.

And finally some Wizards.

Douxie my love, you were amazing as usual. His powers have grown greatly and have contributed to the adventure. But god the writers really do love to take everything away from him don’t they. It’s unfair.

Archie was kinda just there and just... I understand leaving Douxie but that doesn’t mean I like it.

Nari the sweetest. I can only imagine the guilt she felt to end Nomura. Her self sacrifice was probably the one in the movie most called for.

Alright now I’ll talk about the movie.

I can whole heartedly say this movie was rushed. To be honest I feel like the original writers weren’t completely in this. At least it felt kind of not so much Trollhunters or 3Below vibes but more Wizards, if that makes sense whatsoever. Something is off.

I just want to blame Merlin for everything. To hell with that guy.

The beginning sequence was great. A car chase to a moving train. Which ends up with Toby of course screwing up and breaking the brakes. Of course. The train falling off the tracks which ultimately ends up with Nari gone. Oh yeah, and video recordings of Magic, trolls and being taken in by the police. Great.

WHY TF WAS TOBY TELLING THEIR STORY TO THE POLICE. YOU DON’T MIX THE POLICE IN STORIES UNLESS YOU KNOW THE COP PERSONALLY. CUZ IT’S A MESS AND THE POLICE GET IN THE WAY. GDI TOBY.

Our heroes go back to base on the new and improved Camelot. Where we discover that Barbara and Strickler are now engaged. Happy news and would secure that Jim has another Father figure in his life and his mother’s happiness. Which explains Strickler’s “stay behind” advice. Now he has a family to watch over. He must be careful and warns that Jim’s actions could cost so much that he might not be able to afford.

Enters our Majesty Aja and the new stud on the block, Eli. Dang I wish puberty hit me like that.Truck-kun strikes again. And also enters... the pregnancy thing. I will say, I didn’t mind it too much... at first. But there are complications. Steve is too young to be a father and dang 7 kisses?? I can’t help but feel like Aja should have mentioned that or it was a last minute plan to write out Steve and Eli. (Which it was.) It was funny sure cuz omegaverse and ALIENS but all together it’s really iffy.

They really had Douxie preform a body-swap spell only so it would be undone. And undoing the spell only hurt them both?? C’mon. C’mon.

And they mention the Krohnisfere. We’ll get back to it. Jim gets a brand new amulet infused with Akaridion tech. However theres an issue. It was created by Merlin right? Who is a wizard right? Who uses MAGIC. Shame Douxie wasn’t there to help make it. Ya know. 1/2 of the original creator of the AMULET. So it’s missing a huge part and for the sake of the plot, Jim doesn’t test the Amulet which is out of character personally.

Toby makes a silly big deal over a penny. I was actually hoping they would make it a silly Chekhov's gun later on. But no, it’s just Toby being loud and comedic relief.

The titans are released and we visit a very pregnant Steve. Ok so it’s a rushed kind of thing. ok.

Aja suggests evacuation. You can say it’s out of character but we need context. When Aja helped in the Doomsday Battle, she was ensured a way out but if she let the people of Arcadia perish. She decided to stay and help. But now the Trollhunter himself can’t help. So to ensure the survival of everyone, evacuation. A best chance for everyone to survive. Plus she is now a Queen. She rules over a whole planet which must change her thinking.

Now our characters are split into 3 teams:

Blinky, Archie, Archie’s dad and Claire for the Krohnisfere.

Jim, Aja, Toby, Strickler and Barbara for the Glacial Titan.

Nomura, Douxie and Aarrgh for the Earth Titan.

Now here is where I have problems. WHY. DID. THEY. SEND. TROLLS. TO. BRAZIL. IN. THE. DAY. Nomura dying was just so out of pocket. Unnecessary. I couldn’t even grieve properly I didn’t have a chance to process. The best thought I could think was “At least she’s with Draal now.” 10 seconds later, Strickler makes the choice to sacrifice himself. Because of Jim’s heroic’s, Strickler decided to try to save the most important people in his life. The person who was always dishonest finally had a chance to live a happy life with his family. The one who played it safe now had to make the final impulsive move. And unfortunately, his death was in vain. These deaths were just so forced. It wasn’t in any way good. And Strickler being one of the best written characters just going in such a way was just off. He died for nothing. He could have turned back and fought another battle but... no.

(BTW Barbara was just there... for Strickler’s death.)

We move to Babara and Jim having a heart to heart. I’m glad she didn’t blame Jim but a small moment of anger. Something a little more real for me but no I guess. Barbara will always just be Jim’s mom. She mention’s Jim’s father and it passed so quickly I missed it on my initial viewing. I’m happy that Jim’s father is never revealed or made a bigger part in his story. This is good representation for those of us who did have our fathers walk out on us. That we can grow despite our parents failing us.

And finally team Krohnisfere. Archie just leaves. He’s gone. Poor Douxie. A mentor and now his closest companion.

Our heroes meet up to go against the Volcanic Titan. In comes Varvatos Vex on a Gun Robot. Nice to see some good ol Gundam with a character mentioned throughout the entire trilogy. However it doesn’t last. BTW for the sake of survival, Aja leaves Jim and Toby. Iffy.

Douxie pulls a “Jason stop. This isn’t you.” thing with Nari and is reunited with his friend.(+ points for the shippers. It’s kinda winning me over?) Also, Claire now has the power to teleport a Titan. I know she’s much stronger than she was for the Trollhunters Sn 2 finale, but cmon. You can’t just say she’s out of magic juice and then pull this. C’mon.

(btw did the titan make a War of the Worlds tripod sound? No? Just me?)

Nari sacrifices herself and takes the other god with her. Which takes away Douxie’s other companion. Mr. Stark I don’t feel so good. Why does this movie hate Douxie so much. (I am so sorry shippers. Angst.)

BLINKY DIDN’T SEE A PAGE? ADDRESSING IT IN THE SHOW DOESN’T GIVE YOU A PASS. I forgot the word but this irony isn’t greatttt.

Jim now has to pull out the legendary sword Excalibur. But he can’t cuz he hasn’t harnessed the power of friendship.

And Steve is giving birth. At the worst time. What is this a zombie movie??? C’mon.

Jim says “Magic is friendship” And Stu is finally being used for one grand act. Seriously Stu is just so unappreciated. So he fixes the amulet with magic.

Basically everyone who went on top of the Volcanic titan falls off at some point. Except Jim cuz of course some 1v1.

ONCE AGAIN Claire is out of magic juice. Because... reasons.

Toby makes the choice to race to Jim’s side with the technology to cancel out magic. (Wait how does science stop magic again)

BTW, For the Good of all doesn’t hit as well BUT it’s not mentioning any glory towards stinky Merlin so I am happy with the change.

JIM HAS A NEW TRANSFORMATION. MY BOY. MY SON. I’M SO PROUD.

Toby races to Jim and his helmet falls off the taco truck. That honestly should have been a huge warning sign. I was worried he didn’t have armor but we know how this goes.

Jim defeats the final titan and everyone is happy. The fight is finally over.

STEVE HAS 7 KIDS. OUCH.

Seeing Jim run to Toby was heartbreaking. Now this is the one scene where the movie really let out actually process a character’s death. How on earth can you process your best friend, your most faithful companion dying. Jim goes through too much I swear to god.

Now let’s discuss the time travel plot. I honestly feel like they pulled some kind of Attack on Titan ending. The main character burdened with knowing the future and what could have been. And if everything is meant to be how it will be, destiny will reconnect them again. (Jlaire reincarnation AU???)

I’m actually ok with this ending. I understand people would want the time stone to return only a few minutes. But even then, the kiddos still have police records, so many people dead at the titan’s hands (or feet) and now the world knows about the existence of trolls thanks to the internet. In New York no less. And people are still dead.

We return the the beginning of everything, reflecting the “Unbecoming” episode.

(NGL I’m bothered that they didn’t do anything to stop Steve from bullying Eli, but Jim can’t do it. He’s saving it for Toby.)

And now finally, let’s discuss Toby becoming the Trollhunter. From the beginning, Toby never considered himself good enough to be the main star. Always the wingman, the 2nd best. Support. Now it was Toby’s turn to climb the ranks and be the Hero he’s always wanted to be. It’s Jim’s turn to live an easier high school life. I don’t doubt that he won’t follow Toby. But now he knows what to avoid and how to make the story process more smoothly.

I understand some are unsatisfied with this ending, which is kinda trademarked with Dreamwork’s shows. I get it. But honestly as of right now, I think I like the ending.

The amulet didn’t choose Jim because this Jim is not the same Jim as in Sn 1 Ep 1. He is a new man. And I think we all can agree that it’s his turn to be happy.

I still love this series so much. It is my favorite cartoon. Of course it has it’s flaws, but this ending is at least satisfactory and not heartbreaking. Now it’s up to us to either continue the story or contribute our ideas in fanfiction. I look forward to everyone’s creations.

Welcome to Live Commentary

I had no one to talk to while watching the movie and I hate being alone with my thoughts so I wrote everything down in my notes app. It's not coherent! Enjoy!

Aw yeah 1.5 seconds of Bular that is all I needed! Might as well stop now I've seen my boy I'm satisfied.

Why is there a nearly 4 minute recap as if I haven't watched the show at least 50 times. I should be the one giving the recap.

The beginning felt a bit forced to me but maybe that's just me? Like they just tried to squeeze too many things into a small timeframe without any buildup, it just didn't really work. Congrats on the engagement! This is my OTP so I'm very happy! But it came out of nowhere.

Nari in Douxies body is so wrong and I love it and hate it at the same time (positive)

Eli is BIG. I knew he was gonna be tall but I was not prepared for that chiseled face. Or the fact that he stepped off the ship without glasses? I wear glasses and I would not choose to step off a spaceship blind.

OkAY who had mpreg on their bingo card?

AAARRRGGHH actually said a full sentence 🥺 there is no heterosexual explanation for this scene and I'm here for it

Arcadia being the center of the universe really does make a lot of sense. I hate how much sense it makes. Despise it.

Strickler in a Christmas sweater is something i didn't know I needed. Jim's jacket too but that's just adorable, Jim's adorable. Oh sweet baby you're about to get fucked over so bad.

Love seeing Barbara actively participating in battle too. Good for her! Power family!!

Where are the kids tho? Is NotEnrique babysitting? Either that or they hired the girl from the Incredibles movie.

Nomura is so talented I love seeing her fighting on the good side. I can't explain it but I love digitigrade legs they're just so pretty?? Aesthetically pleasing??? Fuck yeah, legg! I could watch Nomura run around and be badass all day.

WAIT NO OH SHIT HOW DARE YOU FUCK

STRICKLER DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE NOT YOU TOO THAT'S TOO FUCKING RUDE DON'T DO THIS TO ME

Barbara does not deserve this I refuse to accept it. He's fine he'll be back they wouldn't kill two Changelings at once. Also Nomura is with Draal now I take no criticism.

So my favorite characters were Bular, Draal, Gunmar and Angor. And before this movie I always half-joked that everyone I love dies, how I still like Strickler and Nomura but apart from them all of my faves were killed in the very order of favoritism. AND NOW LOOK AT THIS. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I LOVE A CHARACTER. MY LOVE IS TOXIC.

OKAY I LOVE GUN RO- WAIT NO I DON'T LOVE HIM FUCK ABORT ABORT

It's great tho omg

I didn't realize it was Gun Robot when I saw it in the trailer this is amazing

Finally they're evacuating the city. This is like, the third apocalypse there. About time.

Okay so you can't pull Excalibur from the rock, but you CAN carve out the stone. Couldn't you just carve it off the sword as close as possible and like. Use that? Just swing the whole damn rock around?

So we get the quote again. And Trollhunter Tobias is nice. Cool. Cool AU I mean, but I don't know. I don't knowwww. I've been way too invested in everything to just accept that it never happened?? So uh. Hm. How about this.

Strickler survived because fuck you, and Toby also survived and just has scars now. Maybe a wheelchair but he's fine, also he can use the Warhammer for super speed and make it awesome once he's used to it. Archie and Charlie get freed once they rebuild the bridge (and they were playing scrabble to pass the time). Nomura is still dead because she died on screen and I can't really deny that but she's with Draal so it's okay. Everyone is traumatized but they'll be fine. NotEnrique is still babysitting 500 babies and Steve is about to bring 7 more.

In summary, I reject Groundhog Day ending but everything else was great, as long as it actually happened. It was a good movie. But you can't just cancel years of passion. Having the prospect of a million "canon AUs" sounds great for writing but at the same time nooo you can't do that he didn't have to go back THAT far HHHHH

I liked the movie. It was a great watch and a satisfying end to a franchise, but I gotta say I do not fancy the ending of it so I will from now on be in denial. I honestly feel kind of betrayed that this show was my whole life for so long, I learned every smallest fact, and they basically deleted it from existence. I know what they were going for, I think, but no thank you I will be going with my own opinion. Still gonna rewatch it a few dozen times though ✌🏻

I've been thinking about this for a few days now and yes I am going to talk about Jim again, bear with me.

In the movie, he's the leader of the group, no questions asked. Why, do you ask? Well, for obvious reasons of course, but let's dissect this for a moment. Recently I saw a post (I don't know who posted it but boy person I agree with you) about how Trollhunters is really about sacrifice. From the moment he picked up the amulet, Jim has been sacrificing and sacrificing so much - his normal life, his safety, his relationships, even becoming a troll (which is still one of the most heroic acts I've ever witnessed on-screen ever). And all the people who have died - Vendel and Draal and AARRRGH for a time. The interesting thing about all of this is that Jim is surrounded by people who are witness to these sacrifices. By the time of ROTT, the amassed team all have one thing in common (perhaps excluding Aja) - they have all watched Jim go into the Darklands or become a troll or force a corrupted shard into his chest or something like that. They've all watched him fight for them, because that's all he does. He's not just fighting for the world, he's fighting for them, personally, and they know it. So darn right they're gonna follow him to the ends of the earth and sacrifice everything for him because they know he'd do the same. And they do it all throughout the show. Watch Claire risking her life to save the Trollmarket trolls with a giant portal, because Jim went to hell and back for her brother. Watch Douxie battle demigods to the death because Jim gave them one more day to fight. And in this movie, watch Strickler, who began as a self-serving villain, lose everything for the sake of good because it's what Jim would do. Watch Toby sacrifice his life to save Jim and the world because he's watched Jim do it so many times. I'm not negating their sacrifices by saying they're not selfless on their own, but I am saying that Jim has had an impact on these people, and it shows.

Which in another vein breaks my heart, because we come back to the beginning, and it's a sad sort of irony that because Jim has taught them about sacrifice, he ends up losing more people he loves, including his best friend. But that's also kind of what Trollhunters is about too, for Jim himself? This story, like Romeo and Juliet, is a tragedy. It's about Atlas and the weight of the world, and the weight of the world doesn't go away, it only gets heavier. But somehow, after all this, Jim Lake Junior is still standing. And the Trollhunters are standing beside him, for him, with him

Fire Keeper: Chapter 15

Douxie x fem reader

Chapter 1

Series Summary: You are Jim’s older sister who is taking a break from college and has moved back home to Arcadia. You end up joining Jim and his friends on their adventures.

Chapter 15 summary: Just as you and Douxie get back to Arcadia the Eternal Night begins.

You stroked Archie as Douxie drove the three of you back to Arcadia. It had been a pretty silent drive with you drifting in and out of sleep, but you were awake now and you and Douxie were singing along to some music you were playing via your phone.

It was a lot of fun and it made you even happier to see Douxie smiling again. You looked back out the window before he could catch you staring.

A new song came on and you began to sing, but your phone ringing cut you off. You unplugged the aux cord and answered it.

“Hey, mom. We just got back. We’re almost in Arcadia.”

“Y/n, something happened, can you come to the school?” She asked, her voice filled with urgency.

“Um, yeah. I’ll be right there.” You hung up and looked to Douxie. “That was my mom, something happened.”

“I can drop you off and then you can pick up your car tomorrow?” Douxie suggested and you nodded.

The two of you continued singing, but you were distracted by your thoughts. Your brain had decided to conjure up thoughts of all the worst possible scenarios.

Thankfully you didn’t have to suffer through the scenarios as you arrived at the school. You hopped out of the car and thanked Douxie.

You immediately sensed auras on the roof and while they all seemed relatively calm and a little anxious, you didn’t sense Jim’s.

You decided to forgo the stairs and you flew yourself up to the roof. You arrived to see everyone but Jim. Even Merlin was there, but you didn’t see your brother. However, you did see a troll in the eclipse armor. You stared wide-eyed at him and dove into his aura. If you peeled back a few layers you found your brothers.

“Jim?” You asked, alerting everyone to your arrival.

“Hey Y/n,” he greeted, smiling nervously.

“Are you okay?” You asked, concern for your little brother consuming you.

“Kinda,” he admitted and you ran over to hug him. Tears pricked your eyes when you realized how much taller he was now.

“What happened?” You asked as you pulled away from him, but you still held his hand.

“I needed to become stronger and Merlin did this.” He gestured to himself.

“But you were already great,” you whispered. You could sense the pain and fear and Jim’s aura and it made your tears run faster. The best word to describe your mood was ‘furious’ and the cause of your anger was Merlin.

You had been home for about three seconds and you were already ready to fight the old man. You were only holding back because you didn’t want to start something or upset Jim.

“Ah so this is the Trollhunter’s sister?” Merlin asked and you were seriously ready to throw hands. You had really expected Merlin to be cooler from what Douxie described.

You scowled. “I am, and not only that, I’m a sorceress.”

“Really?” Merlin asked, interest showing on his face.

“Yes, and what were you thinking? How could you do this to him?” You asked.

“I didn’t do anything. It was his choice, I just created the means. In the end you will thank me.”

You decided to be mature and ignore Merlin. It was the best way to calm down. It also helped when you remembered that Merlin was able to see the future. Maybe Jim becoming a half-troll was a good thing?

You turned to Jim. “Don’t worry Jimbo, you still have your looks,” you joked trying to make light of the situation.

He chuckled. “Thanks.”

You looked at the rest of the group and you noticed Strickler standing very close to your mom. You decided to be mature and read their auras before attacking Strickler and you were presently surprised to sense forgiveness in your moms aura and caring in Strickler’s. Maybe he wasn’t that bad.

You put on a small smile. “Why don’t we walk home and you explain everything that's been going on this past week to me.”

“There’s something you should know about our trip to find Merlin,” Jim said once you all had gotten down from the roof.

“What’s wrong?” You asked, sensing the sad shift in everyone’s auras.

Jim looked down. “Draal didn’t make it. H-he died back when we were getting Merlin’s staff. Draal took a dagger for me, Angor Rot killed him.”

You looked at the rest of the group and saw sadness shining in your eyes. You began to cry again and Jim hugged you. “I-I can’t believe it,” you sobbed.

“I know I’m sorry. But we are going to avenge him,” Jim promised. You sniffed, looking up at him. He was so grown up now and you were incredibly proud.

You took a deep breath. “I know we will.”

Last night as all of you walked home the group recounted the events of the last week to you and you had to admit a lot had happened. Now it was time to defeat Morgana and Gunmar.

That morning you had gone over the plan and you had to say, while you were nervous and scared, but you were excited to end this. It would all be over soon and hopefully your brother and Merlin would come out victorious.

And while they did that, you were on crowd control with Douxie. You wouldn’t have regular civilians dying, not if you had something to say about it.

You stood on the sidelines with Douxie watching Aja and Krel play their music. The crowd seemed very excited for Krel’s DJ-ing, but you were a ball of nerves. Claire was supposed to arrive soon and tell everyone to go and find someplace safe.

You bit your lip as Señior Uhl announced Mama Skull and Claire walked onto the stage in her armor.

You barely listened to her speech, but you could tell nobody was understanding how much danger they were in. That is until the sky darkened and gumm-gumms appeared.

You tried to call everyone to you, but they just panicked. Unsure of what to do, you and Douxie just began to fight. The less gumm-gumms there were the less chance of people dying, right?

You summoned your sword and immediately sliced through one as you sent a magic blast at another. You heard someone scream on stage and you and Douxie ran over there. You noticed he didn’t have a weapon and you wondered what he was going to be able to do with just a guitar.

Apparently he could do a lot. He hit a gumm-gumm that was terrorizing Mary and Darci over the head, knocking it out cold.

“I've always hated those twits!” he grumbled. You went over to finish the job while he helped Mary and Darci.

You walked back over to Douxie who Mary and Darci were swooning over and you rolled your eyes. “Come on Romeo, we need to get these people to safety.”

“Alright, Ladies follow us.” Douxie took off and you followed him.

“Where should we take them?” You asked. “We need some place big enough to fit a ton of people.”

“The school!” Douxie responded. You turned the corner and found some gumm-gumms harassing some of the old guys who like to play chess in the gazebo.

You held out your sword and charged the creatures, easily taking them down while Douxie covered your back. The two of you made a very good team.

Soon the street was cleared of the black and green monstrosities, but you knew it wouldn’t last long. “We need to get going,” you said helping the old men up.

Your ever growing group made your way through the town with Douxie up front and you guarding the rear. Occasionally you ran into gumm-gumms, but you and Douxie took care of them easily.

Soon you made it to the school. You used your magic to unlock the doors and you had to admit you were proud of yourself.

You watched as Douxie led everyone across the street. Things seemed to be going your way for the time being and you hoped all of your friends were doing okay. You didn’t know how you would go on if you lost anyone else.

Another tremor hit and you wobbled on your feet. Tremors had been occurring all day, but this one felt different.

The cause of the tremor was soon revealed when you heard a roar. It was a roar you had only ever heard once before, and that had been in the Darklands. You watched everyone freeze in the middle of the street as a gigantic black and green snake thing turned towards all of you. It could probably smell the fear radiating off of everyone.

“Fuzz buckets,” Douxie cursed as the Nyarlagroth charged. There was no time to make any mistakes so you just decided to call upon your magic. An orange glow surrounded the Arcadians and they floated into the air. You heard shouts of surprise, but you didn’t have time to warn them as you threw them inside the school.

You went to chase after them, but you instead saw a kitten standing in the middle of the Nyarlagroth’s path. There was no way you were going to let something bad happen to the adorable ball of white fluff, so you did what any compassionate human would do. You ran towards the kitten and picked it up.

Unfortunately now both of you were in the Nyarlagroth’s path, but you weren’t there for long.

You and the kitten glowed blue and you were yanked towards Douxie who caught you. He carried you bridal style into the school, gently setting you down before the group of Arcadians.

“Um, thanks,” you mumbled.

“Anytime, thanks for getting the kitten. I didn’t see it.”

“Of course.”

“What now?” Someone asked and you turned to face them. You didn’t have to be an aura reader to sense that these people were afraid. But what you weren’t expecting was for them to be determined.

“I know you might not be happy to be stuck in here, unable to do anything, but in here you are safer. I also understand how scary this is. Right now Douxie and I need to take care of that giant snake thing so we can make this place safer.” You looked at all the terrified faces and sighed when you noticed that your speech didn’t seem to be impacting them. “Okay, look. We’ve all lived in Arcadia for a while and I’m sure many of you have noticed the weird things that go on around here. There are different creatures that live here who aren’t human, but this is their home too. Those bad guys out there have taken their home before and are trying to take it again as well as ours. There aren’t many people who can do something about it, but those who can are out there, fighting for you and they are going to win. But to do that, they need you in here where you’re safe so they don’t have to worry about you. It may seem scary now, but if we all do our part things will work out!”

You looked again and noticed that everyone seemed to be calmer and even more determined than they were before. “Good luck!” Someone called and you smiled.

“We’ll be back soon,” Douxie said, holding the door for you.

You reluctantly gave the kitten to Phil and Jerry, the two the old guys you had saved. “Now let’s go take care of that Nyarlagroth.”

“I didn’t know you gave inspirational speeches,” Douxie joked once you were outside.

“It’s one of my many hidden talents,” you replied smiling at him.

You and Douxie raced to the top of the school to get a good view and you saw the Nyarlagroth circling the school.

“When Jim was in the darklands he stopped one by overwhelming it’s sense of smell,” you explained. “We need to find something that will do that.”

“This is a school, there’s got to be tons of gross laundry here,” Douxie suggested.

You bit your lip. “I hope this works.”

“Me too,” Douxie sighed, looking one last time at the beast. His aura was buzzing with worry.

“We’ve got this,” you said, pulling him back down the stairs. The two of you went looking for the laundry and you plugged your nose as you levitated it out of the school. “This should be fine.”

“Good.” Douxie chuckled. “I hope these kids won’t be mad about us feeding their stuff to the Nyarlagroth.”

“I think they’ll be fine.” You set the hampers down to catch a breather. “Okay, I’ll go across the street and when the Nyarlagroth comes around be ready to fling this stuff into its mouth.”

“Yes Ma’am,” Douxie said, jokingly saluting you.

You gave a small smile before running across the street, levitating your baskets behind you.

You heard the Nyarlagroth before you saw it. Hiding in an Alley you levitated the hampers and got ready to shove them into the beast’s mouth.

It roared and you sent the disgusting laundry flying into its mouth. You watched as Douxie’s hampers flew in after yours.

It froze and you took it distraction as an opportunity.

“Douxie blast it, I’m gonna go stab it!” You explained, ever eloquent.

You leapt into the air and onto the Nyarlagroth’s back. You felt the beast shift as Douxie began to blast it. Quickly you located a space between its scales and you squeezed your eyes closed as you thrust your sword into it. You pushed it into the hilt and watched as it slowly turned to stone. You felt bad, but you knew it would kill everyone if given the chance.

You floated off the Nyarlagroth and down to the ground where Douxie hugged you.

“We did it!” He celebrated. “You did amazing.”

“Thanks, but we both did amazing.”

You high fived in celebration. The Nyarlagroth was now a pile of useless stones and the People of Arcadia were mostly saved.

However, the celebration couldn’t last long. You had work to do. You and Douxie placed anti gumm-gumm sigils around the house and then went to go look for more people. Soon you had gathered quite a few and you were bringing them back to the cool when you saw a horde of goblins.

Stood to challenge them while Douxie got the people inside. The goblins charged at you and you blasted a few before they got too close.

The leader leapt up at you and you sliced him with your sword. This only angered the rest of them causing them to fight with more vigor. But you were fighting for the safety of your town.

Soon Douxie joined you, bashing the goblins with his guitar that he had kept. It was a little battered by now, but it made for a good weapon.

You fought goblin after goblin, but there always seemed to be more of them.

They suddenly stopped attacking though and you noticed a change in the air. The goblins looked at each other then at you and Douxie who had your weapons arrived.

They turned and ran. You were tempted to go after them, but you realized that you couldn’t do much against that many goblins. You should have to save that problem for later.

“What do you think happened?” Douxie asked.

Red lightning came out of nowhere and hit a gumm-gumm which shattered into a pile of rocks. “I think Jim killed Gunmar!” You exclaimed.

Now that the street was clear you and Douxie went to check on the Arcadians. After you were sure they were good the two of you can off to the canal. The both of you were worried that the Eternal Night hadn't ended.

You didn't have your car so you wouldn't be able to drive. Instead the two of you ran.

You arrived to see Claire, Jim, Toby, Aaarrrgghh, and Blinky looking at a giant crack in the ground.

You looked into it and saw the heartstone, but it wasn't warm and happy orange anymore. It was a cold gray.

"What happened?" You asked, aghast. You had spent so much wonderful time in Trollmarket now it was destroyed.

"Gunmar happened," Blinky said, bitterly.

"What are you going to do now? " you asked.

"We're gonna look for a new Heartstone. Merlin mentioned that there would be one in New Jersey," Jim said.

"New Jersey?" You asked, shocked.

Jim avoided your eyes. "Yeah."

"I'll miss you," you said, hugging him.

"I'll miss you too," he said.

After you had met with Jim Claire and Toby and they had told you their side of the battle and you told yours, you went to see your mom who was sanding on the cliff overlooking Arcadia. The two of you were waiting to say goodbye to Jimo. You knew he had to go to New Jersey, but it still hurt you to see him go.

Merlin arrived and he looked out over Arcadia. There was smoke billowing over some buildings and while it looked sad and hopeless, but you knew it would be okay.

You gently stroked the kitten you had saved from the Nyarlagroth. You had decided to adopt the kitten, though you didn’t have a name for the darling fluff ball.

You were spooked out of your thoughts by some rustling behind you. You turned around to see Jim. You tried to hold back your tears. You hadn’t even said goodbye yet and you were already missing him.

He went over to you and your mom and hugged the two of you. “I promised I’d never leave you,” he said.

“Honey, I knew this day would come, I just...never knew when,” your mom rubbing yours and Jim’s back. “I hope you find what you’re looking for.”

You heard your mom sniff and you knew she was crying. Your own tears began to fall. “Just call often,” you sniffed.

“Everyday. Twice. Text. Now and then?” Your mom added.

“Of course, guys. I love you,” Jim said, also sniffing.

“Not more than I love you kiddo,” your mom chuckled.

You heard more rustling and sawBlinky arrive. “Are you ready, Master Jim?” He asked coming over to you.

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” Jim sighed, letting go of you and your mom, but keeping your hands.

“I don’t know what tomorrow brings, but with our Trollhunter by our side, I don’t fear it either,” Blinky said, putting his hand on Jim's shoulder. You smiled, you were glad Jim had someone like Blinky.

“I really appreciate that, Mr. Blinky,” you mom said.

You heard more rustling and saw Claire and her parents arrive.

She walked over to Jim. “Claire, I can’t ask you to—“

“You didn’t ask,” Claire said and you were so glad Jim had such a great boyfriend.

“She has enough credits to graduate early,” Claire's mom said. “We’re treating this as some time abroad.”

“As long as she comes back soon,” her dad said.

“Well, congratulations, Claire,” You said, high fiving her. You wondered how it was possible for a sophomore to have accomplished that.

Jim laughed and you jumped a little as Strickler came flying by. He landed by your mom. “Good luck, Young Atlas.”

Jim smiled at the three of you and slowly let go of your mom’s hand as he walked away.

“You did good raising him, Doc,” NotEnrique consoled. “Here’s a thousand new babies to raise.”

“What?” Strickler asked as NotEnrique handed your mom the cradle stone.

“Have fun with that, you two,” NotEnrique called, running away so they couldn’t give the stone back.

“Wait!” Strickler called.

“This’ll be fun,” you muttered and your mom patted your back.

“Wait! Wait for me!” Toby yelled as he came running up to the group in his War Hammer armor. “Boy, these goodbyes are tough, you know. Nana wanted me to take Mr. Meow Meow P.I., but he does not travel well. What?”

“Tobes...you have to stay.” Jim said, kneeling down.

“What?” Toby asked and you felt really, really bad for him. “You’re going on a quest. I love quests. We go everywhere together.”

“I’m hurt, Claire lost her Shadow Staff. We need you here to protect Arcadia.”

“No, Wingman,” Aaarrrgghh said, coming up to Toby. “I help. I stay.”

Blinky gasped then nodded, accepting it. Their air was thick with bittersweet goodbyes and you felt a few tears fall.

“So, you’re staying with me-” Toby gestured to you and Aaarrrgghh “-and you’re leaving,” he summarized, gesturing to Claire, Jim and Blinky.

“But we’ll be back. Someday,” Jim promised as you handed the kitten to your mom and walked over to them with Claire. The four of you were pulled into a group hug.

“You better,” Toby sniffed.

“And then we’ll get tacos,” Jim said, chuckling.

“And enchiladas,” Claire added.

“We sure found that adventure. Right, Tobes?” Jim asked and you smiled through your tears.

“I’m really glad we took the canal that morning,” Toby agreed.

The four of you stood. “Keep Arcadia safe,” Jim requested. “You’re its only Trollhunters now.”

Nomura walked over and hugged Toby. “I still don’t like you.”

“I know,” Toby cried. You began to quietly shed your tears as your friends and little brother walked away into the forest.

They stopped and you watched as Merlin pulled out the Eclipse Blade and you noticed that it was broken. “I believe this belongs to you, Trollhunter.”

Merlin used his magic to fix it and Jim grabbed it. They looked back one more time and you waved a sad goodbye.

Some general thoughts on Wizards (spoilers ahead, obvi):

- The cinematography? Superb. The voice acting? Phenomenal. The colors???? *chefs kiss*

- I adore how Archie's character turned out. From the small clips we got of him, I was afraid he was gonna be a jerk, but he was actually VERY loving and protective of Douxie (and his father was precious)

- IDC what DreamWorks tries to say, Steven Q. Palchuck is bisexual. No straight man gets knocked tf out and then starts whimpering for his best dude friend over his girlfriend

- Merlin is and always will be an ass hat, I don't care how much Douxie loved him, I smiled when he died. You put my children through too much to get any other reaction from me

- I really loved????? Getting to see Blinky and Arrrgh meet???? That was so cute????????

- Can we pause for a second and admire that Claire's hair, while pulled back in a bun, still had loose and stray pieces visible? The only unrealistic thing was that it wasn't constantly falling out lmao

- I was....disappointed in Krel's role. I knew he wasn't coming in until later, but even then it just kind of felt like he was tossed in at the last second as just a "oh yeah the aliens series happened, here he is." I miss his genius and his DJ-ing 😔

- Shannon only got 8 seconds of screen time but I adore her

- The exchange "You fight like a girl." "No, but I know someone who does." *enter Lady of the Lake* SENT ME. We stan Steve getting character development. Its hard to remember that I disliked him at one point

- The complications of Morgana and Arthur's relationship. Idk I just enjoyed the obvious turmoil on both parts.

- Fucking???? Daya?????? A queen. I loved her (Daia?? How do spell)

- Men! Being! Allowed! To cry!!!!

-The doorway to the Lady of the Lake being a play on the two trolls behind the doors in trollmarket (I forget their names rip). It sounded like they even got the same voice actors?????

- I forgot how much I missed Draal and Vendel until I saw them again. Rip

- I really liked the weird Claire/Douxie/Steve family relationship that unfolded??? Like honestly? Precious. Wasn't expecting it, but am fully here for it.

- Coach's "Well the world is ending....again. Class is canceled" lmao give these poor citizens a break they're so tired

- Steve finally got a weapon!! And its dope!!! Honestly I could talk about Steve's character development all day. I'm using so much restraint rn

- I really liked all the easter eggs and nods to previous seasons and episodes. It was so much fun to pick them all out

- Jim is FINALLY human again. Ironic that Merlin died and he almost immediately turned back 🤔 I am not gonna lie, it'll take some getting used to, but I appreciate him and Claire being the same size again lol

- I loved Douxie way more than I anticipated. Like I didn't think I'd dislike him, but by the end I was ready to fight for that boy. He deserves all the good things, we stan

a comprehensive list of everything i flat-out forgot and/or straight-up didn’t process about Trollhunters because the first time i watched it, i binged it in a weekend while i was high out of my damn mind and now i’m finally rewatching it and losing my shit

Coach Lawrence deadass has a coffee cup that says “#1 Butt Snack” on it

Blinky just eats whipped cream directly out of the can. this man fears no god.

“where IS that contact lens???”

apparently there was an undead assassin named Angor Rot and the entire fandom collectively thought he was very sexy????

no no i canNOT stress this enough. the man is literally a pile of bones. he looks like a deformed ram. he wears nothing but a loincloth. and y’all were STILL horny for this man???

literally i went into the AO3 tag and there was just wall-to-wall Angor/Gunmar smut??? sometimes the occasional, slightly classier Angor/Strickler or Angor/Morgana but iT WAS ALL ANGOR ROT SMUT

in conclusion: y’all need jesus

remember that episode when the amulet starts randomly producing clones of Jim and they’re all different aspects of his personality and they’re all in color-coded jackets??? because i sure didn’t

to atone for this, here are some true highlights, in no particular order:

when NotEnrique sees all the Jim clones fighting in Claire’s bedroom and says, out loud, “I’m not dealing with this” and just fucks off out the window again

“THAT MOVE’S NOT LEGAL!”

“[through tears] they overcharged you on your cable bill??”

“YO YO YO HOLLA!”

“what crime have i committed but from yearnings of the heart?” “unsanctioned use of troll magic, hindering a Trollhunter in his duties, and altogether wussiness”

okay okay i’m done i’m normal again

“girls don’t pee! they conspire!!”

when the undead assassin named Angor Rot coats his knife in poison and then licks the blade. that’s really not a good habit to get into, buddy

“if EVERYONE believes it, then it MUST be a conspiracy!!!”

everybody calls Morgana “eldritch queen” which is hands-down the funniest fucking name i have ever heard in my entire life, i would literally be so flattered if someone said that to me??? call me an eldritch queen. tell me i’m the most eldritch queen you’ve ever seen

Gunmar’s voice is really just Like That huh

Blinky was a human for a little while???

when all the teachers accidentally drink the Changeling dust coffee and Jim calls Strickler in a panic and asks what to do only he lies and says it’s Toby’s cat that got into the dust and so Strickler tells him “just put the cat down” and Jim is like “wELL WE CAN’T DO THAT--”

and then Strickler comes into the school and sees Ms. Janeth eating out of the garbage and he’s not even angry with Jim he’s just like mildly disappointed. you can literally hear him thinking “wow i am really hedging my bets that this idiot is going to defeat Gunmar okay wow”

when Jim and Toby get arrested for breaking into the museum and there’s that montage of all their mugshots and Toby is just having the time of his short teenage life and then it flashes to Jim, who just looks miserable and humiliated

Gnome Chompsky asking the plastic doll to marry him (you know what??? i ship it)

“i told you, i don’t care about my dad!” “you do now”

when Jim gets shrunken down to like two inches tall to go after that gnome but then it doesn’t wear off so he spends the night at Toby’s house and when he falls asleep, Toby really just deadass puts him in the dollhouse

Senor Uhl

Toby’s weird obsession with the mole???

“birthing day”

“wait, you ate cat food????” “and i LIKED it!!”

when Toby gets arrested and shoved into the cop car but when the officer steps out for one (1) second, Toby jumps into the front seat and drives off with the car and then he calls Jim in a panic and screams “I’M IN A HIGH-SPEED CHASE” but when it zooms out he’s literally just going like 2 mph

that whole episode where Barbara says she’ll be at the hospital all weekend so Jim, Strickler, and Draal decide to set all those traps for Angor Rot but then Barbara comes back early and pepper sprays Jim and Draal

when Steve and Eli have to raise that sack of flour together

when all the kids are stuck in Saturday detention together and that girl with the glasses (Shannon??) talks about how they should all be kinder to each other and Claire goes “what are you in for, anyway” and the girl says “embezzlement”

when Toby pretends to be Vendel to steal the Heartstone staff and even though he fucks up spectacularly, he still gets away with it

“keep it ✨ crispy ✨”

when Blinky’s human and he comes to the school and overhears all the kids calling Jim a wuss. and he AGREES with them

when Claire gets possessed by Morgana in the middle of her double date with Jim and Toby and Darci and she is literally trying to murder Jim with a steak knife but Toby insists it’s just because she’s totally into Jim. and Jim believes him.

when they’re searching for Merlin’s tomb, and Jim and Draal are being chased by Gunmar, the Gumm-Gumm king, and Angor Rot, the deadliest assassin known to trollkind, and they are in a cave that is collapsing around them, and Jim and Draal deadass look at each other and go “race you”. chaotic stupid.

“hey, guys, i taught myself bass guitar in the band room. this one goes out to my Juliet--”

Blinky is really just out here hating Merlin for no reason and Merlin is really just out here not even giving a fuck. iconic.

“our Trollhunter is fearless, gallant, courageous--” “BLINKY THERE’S THIS CRAZY TROLL TRYING TO KILL ME AND I’M TERRIFIED”

in conclusion i’m sorry that i wasted my first watch of Trollhunters on post-op prescription painkillers

but i still don’t understand why everybody wants to fuck Angor Rot. y’all please read a Bible.

Rewatching Trollhunters season 3 while waiting for Wizards 😍

Here we go, last season... not sure if I'm ready to rewatch this 😱

Thinking about it, so much needs to happen here! How did they put everything within 13 episodes without making it look rushed?? This show is WOW

After this thinking that Blinky apparently is not with Jim in Wizards and is probably worried sick breaks my Trollhunters shaped heart 😭😭

Bless Anton Yelchin for his phenomenal work on this show

I love the way they handled the change between his voice and Emile Hirsch in the episode with the Gravesand. I ADORE when a change of voice actor is handled in a smart, thoughtful way 👌

Bad Coffee is one amazing episode, it hit me as a filler at first, then slowly became just another meaningful character development point. A very big one, between Steve and Coach Lawrence's bond, Mrs. Janeth viewpoint about teaching (I think her confidence got better, another reason why I believe she took position with Senor Uhl in the Krel vs Seamus situation in 3Below), Strickler still loving Barbara. Like, secondary characters get such a development it's magic 💪💪

I didn't notice at first 😂 A fanfiction would be great to show the moment Steve gave it to him. Did he craft it himself? That would be even better! 💕

Reason number 138 why I can't wait to see Morgana again in Wizards: Morgana possessing Claire is kind of hilarious really, I wanna see how she is... or she was? Still not exactly sure how it will play out 🤔

Also she seems so proud of her "I have many names" 😂

Forgot to mention NotEnrique, freaking, he's got such a development since the beginning and he is so lovable!!! 💚💚💚

The parents finding out and being supportive, absolutely amazing. I genuinely can't name another show with something like this, it's usually all about staying in the dark until the very end. Barbara is an MVP in this episode, and in general 💪💪

Also I appreciate how much is evident that Jim did train a lot, like he never could have done some of the moves he is pulling this season, and sometimes he is even without amulet. Proud 😍

And after seeing him die again I am on such a high level of not ready to see Draal again in Wizards I don't know what do to with myself, Seklos and Gaylen HELP ME 😱😱

Now that I rewatch it, in general Merlin doesn't bother me... at first. BUT, I hated how he kept dissing Blinky and Strickler 😡

Just by this you know this woman will end up dating a deadly general 😂

I've decided to give a personal rewatch of 3Below without making a post... mostly because I rewatched it too much on my own 😅 Also I think I don't have many interesting thoughts besides KREL YOU BEAUTIFUL BABY ILY 💙💙💙

Speaking of, another thing I love about this show is that you think you know a character, then you actually see their point of view and BOOM, everything changes

We saw Krel from the Trollhunters' point of view and without shame I thought he was super annoying... now if anything happens to him in Wizards I'll kill everyone in this room and then myself 🙂

This consideration actually makes me curious about Douxie, because yes it bothers me a bit that he seems to be flirting with Claire, but I know that he will be one HECK of a character judging from @tenyai's beautiful arts 😍 So definitely looking forward to that

Mm, I noticed that In Good Hands does show similarities between Aja and Krel and Merlin: they are all very unusual, kinda sounds like they know better (more for Krel and Merlin at least) and definitely seems like they haven't been out much. Besides this kinda forshadowing that the Tarrons are not from this planet, it also makes me wonder what we will find out about Merlin since Wizards is a time travel

He is also... kind of coherent? He doesn't really lie about what he wants and what he thinks it's right. He justifies what he is sure needs to be done by the "centuries" he went through, and feels like he is above everyone. That is something very clear

I'm not saying Merlin is not a jerk. HE IS. AND HE IS SO ANNOYING LIKE HE IS ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT GUILT OR SORROW FOR POOR JIM

This is not a justification for what he did to Jim and how he did it, this is merely what I think might be his point of view. But I do like his character a lot. And I'm looking forward to what exactly turned him into the man he is now. Maybe to see the pure heart he said to have had once?

Man the transformation scene is breathtaking. The ultimate act of Jim the best boy, everything in order to protect the one he loves 😭😭😭

THE SUPPORT JIM GETS FROM HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY, I LOVE THIS SHOW SO FREAKING MUCH 👌👌👌

Kind of hilarious that while all this mess happens, there are two extraterrestrial children running away from dictatorship and trying not to get Earth destroyed by an evil general. Poor Arcadia 😅

The story of this show is so good sometimes I forget the animation is AWESOME SAUCE 😍😍😍😍

If you're asking yes, I did cheer when Morgana was beating the crap out of Merlin, sue me 🤷‍♀️

Also I somehow imagine Blinky having this pic in an imaginary wallet

Just showing it to everyone being like "This is my son, he is the coolest, I love him"... and he would don't lie to me 😚

ANGOT ROT OMG HIS ENTIRE ARC WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

It feels weird rewatching the finale of Trollhunters knowing that in two days Wizards will make this amazing story continue. I know 3Below did continue it already, but we'll see the original trio again!! Doing stuff!! STUFF!! 🤩🤩🤩

Alas, the rewatch is over. I'll forever be sorry for those who haven't watched this amazing show, because it really is wonderful 👌

So... here we go towards our final part of the trilogy, the videogame in September, and the surprises coming after. I feel like we're not at the end after all 😅
