ATEEZ HYERIM AND VERIVERY HOYOUNG DATING!

Obviously when they became friends it was very apparent that they liked each other, but fans weren’t expecting the dating news to come so quickly. Especially at a time where Ateez was really taking a hold of the k-pop world. Ateez had just gotten their first win on Immortal Songs with Black Cat Nero and not even a full week after the win Dispatch was revealing that Hoyoung and Hyerim were dating. For both groups it was a hard time for a dating scandal to be dropping. Verivery was trying to capitalize on the success from Road to Kingdom, and this was the last thing they needed. Fans were torn between wanting to support them and being upset that this was coming out at such a huge time for both groups. The fans were mainly mad at the news for even releasing it (because it’s dispatch and everyone just hates them). After it was confirmed by both KQ and Jellyfish, handwritten letters were released by both idols where they both explained their feelings towards each other and apologized to fans.

ATEEZ HYERIM HIT WITH BACKLASH FROM ENCORE STAGE!

Just like every idol, a bad encore stage will forever haunt you. Neitzens unfortunately are insanely picky and can’t stand it when you sing bad in encores because encores are about showing off your singing skills not celebrating the fact that you won with your group and having fun. Hyerim happened to fall into that category. After Ateez’ first win, obviously the members were overcome with emotion, I mean it’s the first win. That’s huge! However, Hyerim was hit with critiques to her live singing because of her encore stage even though she was crying and trying her hardest but people don’t care about that. Hyerim did get the chance to redeem herself, however the only comments she got were how she should’ve done this when Ateez got their first win because celebrating your first win isn’t as important as proving your singing skills to people who probably have never had a singing lesson in their life but that’s okay. Hyerim never let it get to her though. She made sure to always smile and continue to let people know why she is a valued member of Ateez, whether they like it or not.

ATEEZ MEMBERS HYERIM AND WOOYOUNG IN A FIGHT!

This was started by someone that just wanted to see Ateez’ (but mainly Hyerim’s) downfall. Hyerim and San are super closer and Wooyoung and San are super close. That being said, Hyerim’s antis work hard to bring her down. This kind of lingered for a while. An anonymous post had come out that Wooyoung and Hyerim were in a fight over San. Clearly they both are close with San and San cares very deeply about them both, but this post made it seem as though Wooyoung felt as though Hyerim was stepping on his toes when it came to his friendship with San. The post went on to say that Hyerim was doing everything in her power to keep the two apart so that she could quote on quote “steal” San from Wooyoung. This caused a big uproar and outsiders decided to input their own takes. People started looking at how the three interact with each other, who San interacts the best with, or even how Hyerim and Wooyoung interacted with each other. Every little thing that the three idols did were constantly under a microscope. People wanted proof that this post was true. However, the antis were quickly shut down with Hyerim, Wooyoung, and San acting like the three musketeers to prove everyone wrong.

KANG HYERIM, professionally known as HYEMI, was born on April 4, 1999, in Seoul, South Korea, to a construction worker by the name of Kang Han-jae. Her mother is a former clerk. She’s the first born out of two. Her sister, Hye-jin, passed away from a fatal car accident at the age of 14. After the incident, Hyemi’s mother became an alcoholic and was later diagnosed with BPD, leaving her father to hold the roof over both of their heads. Hyemi struggled to finish school but with the help of her teacher and counselor, she was able to get through the rest of her school career.

Hyemi decided that she wanted to become a k-pop idol when she finished school in 2018. She had never really looked into it but she knew she’d have to do training. She didn’t mind it because it would take her mind off of everything she was going through. Hyemi wanted to help her father with bills and such so she also applied for local jobs while training. Once Hyemi became an idol, she was afraid of leaving her father behind but he assured her that he would be fine. They called everyday and still do up until now, to check on each other. When Hyemi received her first check, she purchased her father a brand new apartment. Since then, she’s sent him money to pay for all of the bills.

{info}: instead of their rooms, i’ve decided to give you a background on each ocs love life. so whether they’ve dated or not, those who are interested in them, and who they are interested in, and possibly who i might put them with, but maybe i’ll leave that up to you.

Who has Hyerim dated?

Before she became a trainee, she was dating a classmate of hers. He was really sweet and nice. She did very much like him a lot, but the deeper she got into her training the less she saw of him. Eventually he started to get upset that she was choosing training to be an idol over spending time with him and flat out told her he didn’t support her. They ended up breaking up badly. Hyerim understood his frustrations at first due to the fact that she never even considered being an idol until she was casted. However, when she started training with the guys, and everyone was so encouraging, she realized that she likes what she’s training for so she stuck with it. She powered through the breakup and made it out on the other side.

hongjoong (ship name: hongrim)

her trusty leader. she relies on hongjoong so much. she really didn’t have being an idol on her list of future careers, so she had a really hard time during her trainee period. she didn’t really have a good sense of things and since hongjoong has been pretty much working since he was in middle school, he really was her shoulder to lean on. hongjoong stuck by her through every evaluation, hyping her up, giving her advice. she probably wouldn’t have even made it all the way to debut if it wasn’t for hongjoong.

seonghwa (ship name: hyehwa)

of all the members, seonghwa was the most intimidating to her. he just had this dominant aura about him. eventually he opened up to her and they became super close. seonghwa actually took paige under his wing, much like hongjoong, and helped her out when she was having a hard time. now she went to hongjoong for her idol life advice, and she goes to seonghwa for her personal life advice.

yunho (ship name: yunhye)

this sweet boy. hyerim loves yunho. he’s like her best friend. he’s gigantic so like he’s constantly petting her head or making cute short jokes. he calls her shorty or rimmy. hyerim loves it. he always makes her smile and laugh. hyerim is like his biggest fan and was so happy for him when he acted in his first drama along with seonghwa, san, and jongho. she’ll watch it religiously and gush about how good he does just to make him blush (it’s because his character is her favorite).

yeosang (ship name: rimsang)

another one that was intimidating towards her. but then they became best friends when they started doing face masks together. oh yeah, they are those types of friends. she likes how straight forward he is and how he always keeps it real. yeosang isn’t one to sugarcoat things so he’s going to tell you how it is. hyerim also loves the contrast between his looks and his personality because come on, his duality is off the charts.

ahhh her best friend! her bestie! hyerim loves san. san loves hyerim. perfect dynamic. inseparable. they hit it off when they first met as trainees and the two of them were goners for each other since then. he’s just so stinkin supportive and caring of her. san thinks the world of hyerim and what hyerim wants, hyerim gets. the members think it’s cute just how close they are. they rarely have fights and when they do, one of them is immediately apologizing because they hate being mad at each other.

mingi (ship name: minrim)

please this dork? hyerim loves him. she thinks mingi is adorable and super funny. he’s tall but he’s smol you know, so hyerim is a sucker for him. when he was hurt she was constantly there to help take care of him, and when he took time off for his mental health, she would facetime him every single day to make sure he was doing okay and mainly because she just wanted to talk to him because she loves talking to mingi.

wooyoung (ship name: paenyoung)

okay, hyerim was SUPER overwhelmed when she met wooyoung. she is pretty positive she has never met someone more loud and crazy and energized than wooyoung is. she kinda stayed away from him at first because of how overwhelming his presence was, but she eventually opened up to him and now he’s just obsessed with hyerim. he loves that she can talk all the time with stopping, and loves how social she is. she now loves how loud and annoying he is.

jongho (ship name: hyeho)

you mean the maknae? the favorite? the baby? hyerim everything? or all of the above? because that’s what he is. hyerim dotes on jongho more than she dotes on anyone else and jongho LOVES it. this boy eats it up. he gets anything he wants because of her. the members say she is too soft on jongho, but paige doesn’t think she is soft enough. jongho just enjoys the attention is all.

besties! they met at the mamas and dahyun was gushing over the performance compilation ateez did. she did nothing but rave about paige and hyerim was honored because it’s dahyun of twice. they exchanged phone numbers and have been friends ever since. super supportive best friends that would do anything for each other. they have friendship rings that have their initials on them. they’re very talkative and out there. they just love each other.

mark (ship name: markrim )

lol, mark adores hyerim. he talks about her all the time. haechan likes to tease him by mentioning that he has a crush on hyerim. anywho, hyerim thinks mark is super talented, and constantly wonders how he handles his super busy schedule because let’s be real when does sm give golden boy mark lee a break?? they speak to each other mostly in english but if they are feeling fancy they’ll speak in korean. they haven’t known each other long so it’s still a blossoming friendship, but the two cherish it very much.

gahyeon (ship name: rimyeon)

this lil cutie here. Hyerim was a big InSomnia when she met gahyeon on a music show. She actually proceeded to tell gahyeon this and gahyeon thought it was like the best thing in the world because she’s a fan of ateez. they joke with each other that they are each other’s biases in their respective groups. they already knew a lot about each other due to their mutual friend dahyun so conversation was easy going and just flowed between them.

this friendship happened by accident purely because hyerim was convinced that she was going to befriend e-tion out of all the onf members. however, u actually approached her first. he was quite the fan of hers (and actually had a crush on her). they got to talking and realized that they liked talking to each other so they became friends. because u is just naturally shy around anyone that isn’t his members, it wasn’t uncommon for him to be shy around hyerim. in fact, hyerim thinks it’s cute.

hoyoung (ship name: baerim)

look, I know they are dating but they were friends beforehand. in fact, they were so close when they were friends that their members were convinced that they would end up dating. well look what happened? they text all the time and try to see each other as often as possible. hoyoung is just a super sweet boy and he really likes hyerim. the members like that he takes such good care of her and really looks out for her well-being. hyerim calls him her good boy.
