THANK YOU for making a post about your Middle East OCs, I struggled so much to draw KSA eyes 💀 Now I have to fix that, ugh, see you in a thousand years when I'm done 😃🔫
( And maybe it will sound stupid but, who is Hejaz?? )
IM SO SORRY FOR HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO RESPOND TO THIS ASK KHFHDJKSJKDSFDS BUT I REALLY WANTED TO DROP SOME LORE ABOUT KSA FOR ONCE!!! anyways np for the middle east eyes guide glad it helps :3cccc
Hejaz is one of the historical pre-unification states of what is now Saudi Arabia, and was considered to be the wealthiest and most cosmopolitan region due to hosting the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, and thus, many Muslim pilgrims who traveled to the region. He's also Saudi Arabia (Najd)'s older brother, and the two used to be quite close in their early childhood! Hejaz was always the more outgoing one, compared to the shy and awkward Najd...

syriaship sweep for the ship thing!! syriyemen, syrirome, syrijaz, syriran 💖
Tumblr media
syriyem: If i'm going to be entirely honest, this one probably makes less sense, but I'm a big fan of the fact that apparently a lot of southern Arabs were recruited by the first Caliphates into helping them cement their conquests of the Levant region, and many of them went on to settle in what is modern day Syria like it just tickles my fancy.... anyways these two are often not on the same page esp in the modern day but they do keep on coming back to each other somehow (old4old) so 😳
syrirome: Severan dynasty and julia domina..... my one and onlys truly 🫡 anyways, my favorite area of roman history is examining rome's interactions in to its Eastern neighbors so this one is really up my alley!!! rome's fave sand twink....
syrijaz: rip to my girl arab revolt you couldve been so good... im not as well read on that area of history/early modern middle east history as i would like to be, but i love hejaz and his odd contradictory ass.... i love how we came to the conclusion that hejaz would be one of those khaleeji men that fancies shami women (or in this case, one milf coded man) syria.... your taste.....
syriran: the secret dark horse syria ship..... this is the textbook case of "way too much bad blood" and "known each other for too long" and it would in fact never work out in a billion years, but it compels me... iran these days enjoys playing mind games with syria more than doing anything physical though lol

Do you have any headcanons for Hejaz?
Has a soothing and low voice, he's a great singer
Compared to all of his siblings, he's the most cultured and worldly, having been more connected to the outside world via his ports and after Islam, via pilgrims. It certainly doesn't hurt that he's by nature curious and inquisitive!
He's very well-read and artistic, having spent many years studying and contemplating religion, arts, and philosophy.
He has dimples when he smiles! This is a trait shared by his brother Najd (Saudi Arabia).
Speaking of worldly, he's... a bit of a womanizer, much to the chagrin of his siblings, especially Saudi Arabia and Jabal Shammar. Who can say no to those dashing eyes and that handsomely trimmed beard...
Likes his food spicy!

I’ve been wanting to do this meme for a long time! It was a great exercise, and very interesting seeing the difference in how these two express themselves :3c

Human AU where Iran and Bahrain are siblings 🥺 Idk man the sweet little sister bitchy older,, brother??,, genderfluid sibling,,, energy 🥺🙏
GHHGDSH ON ONE HAND THAT IS VERY CUTE....... but on the other, Iran is prbly more akin to an aunt/uncle to Bahrain! They knew Bahrain's mom very well back in the day and was a major influence on her~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bahrain's mother, otherwise known as Al-Ahsa/al-Hasa, was one of the pre-Saudi unification states running around. She was infamous back in the day for banditry and tribal violence, though she did eventually calm down a little bit (emphasis on the little) She's also one of Saudi Arabia's siblings, though she was never close to him, and was rather... actively malevolent towards him. To be fair, she was hostile towards most people, even Iran at times. She was skilled at embroidery, tailoring, and woodworking whenever she wasn't raiding caravans.
