i don’t feel like switching accounts to ramble so you will see me word vomit (cry profusely to cope) abt hsr pls and thank you;

hi i am absolutely not ready for 1.3–1.8 updates (if they do it like genshin does. & if they even make it that far with xianzhou stuff) because i am NOT ready to see jing yuan’s outcome >:/

they had ended 1.2 so perfectly to give us 3 different conclusions and i HATE THEM FOR IT.

1. he could be completely fine. sure he’s injured, but he he’s not a general for no reason. but that’s pretty anticlimactic and i don’t think they’d do that anyway.

2. he retires. sure it’s still a bit sad bc we love him & the luofu loves him, but. it’s about time for him to go. he never wanted to be in charge to begin with. he’s tired. he’s wearing down. & believe it or not— even ‘immortal’ bodies can last so long.

3. he dies. he was already struggling after phantylia’s battle— so it’s not insane to assume that he’s now slowly being consumed with mara. (also if you cannot see the parallels between jing yuan + jingliu, and jing yuan + yangqing, i DONT know what to tell you)

as much as i don’t want this man to die— i think it’d be best for him. he’s thousands of years old, by this point. he’s tired. he’s been through TOO MUCH. he’s watched the four people he held dear die, and change completely over time. (none of them even remember him the same way he remembers them. they’ve moved on, and made new friends in a new lifetime.) his memories are probably starting to fade, and at that point— why keep going, right?? memories of happier days are all he had left.

specifically, i think it’d be best if yangqing kills him. as sad and as fucked as that is— at least he’ll have at least one person he’s come to hold dear at his death bed. gives him the illusion that he didn’t die completely alone, even though he did. maybe he can dream of his old friends during his eternal sleep. <3

ANYWAY; im not a theorist so im not gonna claim that any of these are gonna happen. who knows maybe hoyo will spin him around and he’s completely fine. i just like sharing my word thoughts.

I SEE YOU AS A LOCAL DOTTOLONE EXPERT, SO I MUST ASK YOU A FEW QUESTIONS i have dottolone brainrot and want to start writing fics for them. send help!! 1) What do you think Dottore smells like? and his demeanour? this is what I've got for him so far: "Il Dottore was a man of many specificalities. Local Plague Nurse? No no no, Local Dottolone Expert. Anyways~

1. That’s actually spot on for how I imagine Dottore smelling. I think I mentioned it in that one cologne ask I got from Ivy that both Dottore and Pantalone smell clean but in different ways. Pantalone smells well groomed, he smells of exotic soaps and expensive colognes. Dottore smells sterile, basically how you’ve described with that strong rubbing alcohol smell. I think how I described it was that Dottore smells like he’s cleaned up a crime scene but Pantalone smells like he’s covering one up.

2. I like many different flavours of Dottolone because Dottore’s eccentric nature and the different takes on Pantalone (because we barely know anything Hoyo) leaves a lot of creative liberty. There’s not exactly a right or wrong way to look at it. I enjoy like the trash gremlin/respected noble dynamic, or I guess like Jessica and Roger Rabbit (from the movie not the book). You have this ethereal beautiful figure and then there’s their goofy ass husband and they love each other very much. I think Pantalone finds Dottore’s antics very amusing (“he makes me laugh”) or at least until he’s the one funding the dumb shit he might be doing. Divorced and remarried is also funny especially if they’ve never been married to each other.

Your take is also a flavour I enjoy where Dottore is only soft when it comes to Pantalone, and Pantalone is only like fake sweet until he catches feelings and starts letting himself be vulnerable. Honestly anything can fit them.

I really enjoy @/nabakisan’s Dottolone art, because it’s both cute and their dynamics are so goofy and fun, but there’s also some depth to it depending on whichever comic you’re looking at. They also sometimes use screenshots from the game to explain their thought process/headcanons. Really, my best advice is look through some Dottolone artists/writers and see what dynamic calls to you the most.

Just played Jingliu's story quest and no I'm not crying, someone is just cutting onions... I swear ;_;

[spoilers UTC]

First of all, this is my favorite non-Trailblaze Mission quest by a mile. It answered a lot of questions but still left a couple unexplored. So maybe we'll get more in the future?

This quest was so... sad? Like, excuse me. You hit me right in the feels Hoyo ;_;

The shots... all of them reunited and they're all unhappy flashing to the screen of the HCQ being all happy and celebrating together. Someone hold me, I want them to be happy again 😭

Also, can we talk about how cool the fighting cutscene between Blade and Jingliu was? She deadass killed him and he came back.. again.

All of them are so tragic I wanna give them a hug... (most of all Jing Yuan and Dan Heng though, because I simp-)

Also sad Jing Yuan? Pls, my heart. Come here my poor scrunkly... I'll hug you until the pain goes away ;_;

May or may not have gotten some fic ideas from the things being revealed through this quest. Need to cook on that a bit.

So, about this new Jeht quest...

Maybe you've figured it out, so pls enlighten me if you did.

1) Why did Jeht turn into this brutal berserker in the first place? She was taught to be a fighter, sure, but she kinda went from 0 to 100 real quick as if she gained some extra strength.

2) What did Fatui need Jeht for? For what kind of experiments exactly? At first, I thought she went berserk because of fatui's experimentation, but it seems like she was already like this before they kidnapped her?

3) Why did Traveler just let Jeht go without offering any help? Like introducing her to Dehya idk. Or is it for the sake of the potential future quests with her? For example, Liloupar did say that we'll meet again, so there's that.

On the other hand, Hoyo really turned Jeht into a rabid dog of sorts, I'm kinda still processing what it was for though. When we meet her for the first time, she is a kind and curious girl, and now she is basically a psychopath 😶

Hm... OK, to be honest, I'm not particularly good at meta analysis, especially as far as characterization goes, so there's likely things I missed.

I don't remember too well how Jeht was characterized during Golden Slumber, aside from her attachment to Jebrael and her ability to empathize with Benben well enough to understand it. You're right that, thinking back on it, her characterization is very different this time.

In regard to her being so extremely violent and dangerous in the final quest of 3.4, I do think it's in line with the rest of Dirge of Bilquis... for what that's worth.

The Tanit tribesmen calling her "wildcat" might sound cute and funny in another context, but think about what they're like. They're vicious murderers all the way through, so them going "she's so fiesty :)" carries a certain context. We also already knew that Jeht had killed multiple "traitors" on Babel's orders, and she turned on that one dude who wanted to marry her with basically no outward provocation. She suspected he was working with the Fatui and immediately went straight to murder. She might have also suggested violent solutions in passing during the rest of the journey..? tbh the dialogue was pretty... yeah, so I don't recall the details so much.

So her turning around and ripping apart the Fatui like that and needing to be fought before she calms down (though you don't have to deplete her health bar, it seems) is... consistent with this patch.

Very "violent savage" in a way I can't say I find appealing, but there you go.

As for whether this was always her character and we just didn't have opportunity to see it in Golden Slumber, whether her personality got retconned because they had a different kind of story to tell or the writer changed, or whether being treated as an attack dog by Babel twisted her, I really couldn't say.

(I do kind of think the writer change tho. It's just such a difference in tone and quality? Golden Slumber spent so much time on refuting that King Deshret was a vicious tyrant, that the desert people are brutish and vicious, and then we get this...? Weird to imagine it could have been done by the same person. )

I don't think the Fatui needed her for anything specific. They seem to just pick up people for experimentation in general. Manga, at minimum, directly said that Dottore kidnaps people for mad scientist stuff, and that might have come up in other quests, iirc. I don't think they did anything to her before we rescued her, regardless.

:) Because that would require the Traveler acting as a separate character and not just a viewpoint into the storyline.

It's because they were done with this quest and with Jeht. You can't take her with you, logistically, because she's an NPC and the game is structured around just Traveler and Paimon (the gacha is, as a reminder, entirely not canon). You can't take her to any of the archon quest characters, whether playable ones or NPCs, because you don't know whether players are doing this quest before or after the archon quest, since there is no prerequisite. You wanted to be dramatic and ruin her life, but picking up the pieces? Eh.

Just send her off into the desert, who cares, amirite.

anon is an archon enjoyer and that's totally justified <3

starting off with zhongli (aka hoyo's favourite child) well. *breathes* deepest character backstory. no one else comes close, not venti, not raiden, maybe not even traveller (but that's a story for another time when traveller's story is revealed more). boy has mr geo archon been through SOOO MUCH in his life and i think his descend from archonhood is deserved :( while he's not my favourite character, he's definitely extremely interesting and i would definitely read up on more morax lore if hoyo would give it to us!!!!!!!!

i'm quite conflicted about his popularity and ship dynamics, since 1. he's the geo archon so it's expected he'll get lots of screentime. and his character trailer was (still is) the most legendary of everyone else's so that really gained him a lot of fame, not to mention he's an insanely good support in the game rn. not complaining because the screentime and popularity he gets is made up for by his complex backstory ;)) and 2. his ships are actually quite cute if i look at them alone, but fandom really ruined his ships (ahem ahem tartali) for me so :")

VENTI BOY MY FAVOURITE ARCHON FR FR (at least, before hydro archon release, that is LOL) you already know how much i adore him!!! ohhh the urge to reach through the screen and hug him and rub his back and relief him of all his burdens and trauma :((((( HOYO THIS IS YOUR CALL TO DROP MORE VENTI LORE NOW PLS PLS PLS PLS I AM SO SICK OF INAZUMA I DON'T WANT TO SEE MORE RAIDEN THIGHS OR YAE MIKO PRANKS OR AYAKA I JUST WANT MONDSTADT SCREENTIME (tbh all mondstadt characters deserve more screen time, we only have like what 4 limited mondstadt 5*????)

was kinda hesitant on putting "wasted potential" but in venti's second rerun (irodori festival) i really wanted to see more "barbatos" venti but all we got was.. drunk venti. goddamnit hoyo.

raiden, oh raiden.... i'm gonna be super honest. she's my least favourite genshin character. /srs i really, really don't get the appeal and i hate hate!!!! how sexualised the genshin community made her </3 hoyoverse also rushed the inazuma arc + both her story quests which made it very, very difficult for me to get attached to her. see the first 2 acts of the inazuma quest is basically her trying to kill you but then all of a sudden the conflict in the 3rd archon quest is solved with some bullshit power of friendship within 2 hours. hooray. let's totally forget about how she killed kazuha's friend, nearly killed us more than once, nearly took thoma's vision away, and terrorised the whole of inazuma for her own desires. so yeah. hoyoverse's terrible writing combined with terrible fandom made me LOATHE raiden ei. i'm sorry but literally nothing, no amount of sob story can redeem her in my opinion because i cannot ignore all the terrible things she did.

for the "popular ships suck" part, i don't hate eimiko 😔 like yeah i get the appeal, friends 2 lovers, pink and purple colour scheme, super close yadayada, but it doesn't make me feel something towards their ship lol. i don't enjoy it as much as i enjoy kokosara, even though both ships are based off popular ship dynamics so </3

ok so i must admit i wasn't aware how long was that ask i sent earlier lol but im glad you liked it! im replying to the ask in another ask again because this will probably also be quite lengthy (im. rarely unable to keep things short lmao) so it should be easier for you to read it this way

anna sounds lovely and the restaurant concept is really really cool, and i completely get not liking killing ocs, i have one oc that i came up with specifically with the intention of her dying to develop my main oc but. let's just say currently she's happy and alive jdhhd

and ty for explaining more on lore and her heart i think i have a better image on what's going on in her story now<3 about that part with caribert, it's probably inevitable that future quests will kinda mess up whatever you or other people theorize about khaenri'ah in regards to ocs and other things, hoyo's really been microdosing on that lore until now huh

and ty #2 for explanation on how qinxi's name came to be, yeah you can send me the webbed site im kinda curious how it works ndhdh and her design sounds really nice too!! good luck searching for more makeup inspirations!

so a villainess that isn't a literal villain, got it. all the transmigration media i read/watched (3) had the mc inhabit a body of a villain in a literal sense hence my confusion jdhdh also skipping college in her story is such a power move so definitely do that, don't waste time on the academic things hdhdhd not worth the energy

catalysts are fun because you can assign the character as a catalyst and then just make them do whatever (*looks at heizou with his kicks and nahida with. keyboard buttons(??)*) so if you eventually decide to stay with this idea it gives more freedom even if you'd like to modify her actual combat style later

and ah well. i suppose it's understandable to be kinda scared of that, seeing all the jazz the traveler goes through ndhdh AND !!! DESCENDANTS!! i can't believe i forgot about these for a second but they're honestly such an interesting concept to me i was theorizing on them a lot back when that part of sumeru quest dropped so definitely do consider making vivi a descendant that would be sooooo cool of her

let's hope fontaine introduces a lot of interesting lore and gives you some nice material to work on<3 can't wait to hear about what else you will come up with

i'll definitely make a doodle of vivi she looks so pretty so thank you for allowing me<33 it'll probably also be only a bust because i hate drawing bodies but enjoy drawing faces ksidjshfh but we'll see. and yes please share with me/mention me in a post with that outfit design when you fully visualize it because it sounds like it will look really nice<3

IM SO SO SO EXCITED FOR FONTAINE TOO JDHDHD i really can't wait, i have a very busy summer this year im constantly going on different trips or visiting new places so i end up not having that much time to just sit down and play for a longer while but i planned to have a mostly free week when fontaine will be released jshshsh (kinda because both of my friends are also genshin players so we all want to have time to enjoy the new update)

our ocs would totally get along im absolutely sure of that and im actually planning to do some more sketches (hopefully soon but we'll see) i'll send them to you when i draw them<3

To the answer::

1. WE PLEAD FOR HAPPY OCs!!!!

2. I have Lorena cooking at very low heat until hyv actually gives us some consistent lore (aka lore that doesn't have conditions RIP) but I do think about her often. We will see with the next actualizations.

3. The web is this one (you can change and prod around in the side menu!) I also use it loosely and always check wikipedia to see if a real person would actually be called that way LMAO. Just my personal recommendation. I like this one because you have a lot of different hanzi and can look at the meaning. I also use yabla to safe-check the meanings and the reading!

4. So I have finally decided to make her a catalyst (even tho I could make a Kaveh and make her ✨magically✨ move a weapon around) because as you said, you can have a multitude of designs and moves to choose from! (Even if I'm laking in creative inspiration for those lolol) her moves are still a mystery to me ngl but I'm thinking of working on it soon, so at least I have that kavsoadb

As for the transmigration part I'm actually doubting what to do. I mean, the transmigration is getting done, but I am unsure as if to make it as if she just got her last life's memories or to make her replace the original soul (...they canonically exist in genshin no?? Like I'm not making this up right??). Both of them are SO GOOD... They both make objectively great plot points (and the angst material... Just thinking about it makes my mouth water /hj) so I'm not sure. I will have to check with my directive board (my besties) but advice slash opinions are very welcome!

As far as plot points go, good news! Vivi is not going into prision anytime soon :D! I really cannot make a good plot point for that after Fontaine's quest so I discarded the idea for now (on the foreseeable future...we will see).

It's just, Fontaine quest was everything I didn't expect but in a really good way. I really liked the mechanisms and playing lawyers (Yanfei would be so proud of us) and the archon was very fun and incredibly deep for the first nation quests. I completely disagree on the 'she is a brat' pipeline (we know the fandom likes to oversimplify characters into one ot two traits) so I simply didn't see the idea having much logic at this point.

5. I still don't have anything for her clothing javsisdbwdjsbk I have to think more about it tbh. Of course there are things I want to keep (as I said previously) but I just love the ribbons and frills in Fontaine (again.) so I would like to add more (I'm thinking of making something for her sleeves,, it's just that Eula's sleeves are top character design to me lmao.

6. FONTAINE IS SO COOL. I ended downloading it in my village, without wifi. My phone's internet died that day jahsosbdis and went diving as soon as it finished loading aidbwdeodbdie everything is soooo pretty. So pretty I am having trouble farming for Fontaine characters because I don't want to kill any of the fishies... WHAT DID THE LITTLE CRABBIES DO??? AND THE BIG ONES?? AND THE LITTLE FAMILIES?? (having internal crisis).

7. I'm going to scream again about your Vivi doodle because it fr was so pretty... And the fact that you didn't forgot the monocle??? I was super excited to see it oqbdowbdiwbd

This summer went well (I didn't do much tho... Family complications and all that 😵‍💫) and I begin uni in two days and I am. Not thrilled aksbaodbsis I need a few more weeks of freedom 😭
