i figure most human behaviour that, not only doesn’t occur in other animals but has zero connection to animal behavior is basically distantly rooted in the known fear of inevitable death. let me be clear. cats and shit don’t know they’re gonna die. we do. we have thoughts. we know it’s coming. we think we’re gonna be rich, bullshit like that, most humans believe in magic and most humans doubt that math is a universal or consistent thing. total nonsense right. but everyone knows their ass is gonna die. before you write me off as some dumbass reciting basic 101 level university lectures just Trust Me I’m An Engineer. anyways. being human and dying are somewhat one in the same.
“if i do nonhuman things i can cheat the reaper.” short and sweet. if i can beat zelda faster than anyone i can outrun the reaper. and you know what, fuck it, i’m scared shitless of dying. it’s gonna hurt really bad no doubt. what if the brain destroyal process makes time slow down in my perception and it’s not just like five seconds of bleeding out or fire ant bites or however you go. Scary. so i’ll play along:
i am an average american man and i enjoy bad game runescape. it’s a computer game. MMO. kill monster get loot. sell what i don’t want to other players for gold. spamming chat with “SELLING BOWSTRINGS 200gp” for an hour “sucks” so the devs add a grand exchange where you can post buy/sell orders for a given item+price to maximize gameplay efficiency and minimize social interaction.
like any other MMO you can pay some sketchy website real money for ingame gold farmer by chinese gold farmers. totally against the rules. remember this
so the first thing that comes to any male aged 23-27 mind is “buy low sell high” basic bitch shit. no good. there’s a 5% tax that’ll wipe out your profit margin intended to eliminate this behavior (you’re supposed to friggen kill monsters). but everyone thinks they’re a genius and can beat the system and that there is a secret george soros style illuminati group that is holding the secrets, blah blah blah, whatever, and this comes as a coping mechanism after losing your shirt after trying to beat the market (success rate of 0%).
here is where people mostly quit thinking: if you do the math, which takes about ten minutes and can be done on one side of a sheet of paper with the most basic calculator, it’s easy to figure out that the amount of gold you’d need to play dirty (buy out all the available Feathers or Fire Runes or whatever) in order to corner the market would be so high that there is no possible way for a character to hold that much without having spent IRL money for gold. you’d get autobanned.
SO..finally, go on the ol’ www.reddit.com, and make a really really professional-to-professional sounding post advertising a “service”. Saturate the fuck out of it with dense but very real financial jargon. the “service” (which needs to be obscured enough with plausible and relevant language) is a hedging service aimed at make-believe market players who are buying and selling such huge amounts of items and gold (usually in anticipation of a game update that will speculatively introduce a sudden, dramatic, and capitalizable price change for some item). you need it to be as alien-sounding and foreign as possible but with enough believability and clarity that a handful of reddit jackasses will figure out what the fuck your post is about. whenever pressed further, act totally puzzled and make it very clear that this is not a service relevant to “individual entertainment-motivated” players or some shit. no matter what amount of gold anyone quotes at you, just act puzzled and if that amount is 1/1000th the amount one of your “normal” clients deal with. you need to do all of this extremely artfully. and by “you”, i’ve been meaning to write “me”. really lay it on thick that whatever you’re “doing” is totally unavailable to them and that you want zero to do with them.
so now theyre still mostly totally confused but enough is made clear that their interest is piqued. got my hook in em. some guy will copy/paste wikipedia shit in an obnoxiously long and pseudointellectual, contemptible but characteristically reddit guy style what you’re “selling” actually is in the most exhausting, hand-holdingest way to his fellow reddit gamers. with complete tone of authority.
inevitably one of them will put on their sherlock holmes hat and go deep undercover, emailing me posing as an interested party. bingo. now i get to really lay on the WTF and go off the rails asking about vouchers from One Of The Big Seven, but oh no, you can’t get one of them to vouch for you, that’s fine, it makes sense, we’re the only firm that deals with unvouched, that’s our market, well, one of them at least. Just give me a rough rundown of your entry criteria, dwell time, risk tolerance, fuckin “Gamma Ratio”, you know, all the basic stuff, and i’ll have the team generate a .xlsx for you to plug your data into to get a rough feel for what the final contract might be like.
(lololol) But REMEMBER, that excel sheet is seeded, output is fuzzed and salted and if you share it or try and sell it to our competitors, it will be fuzzy enough to be worthless to them but obvious to us who leaked what. this is the only way we’re able to integrate unvouched clients without untenable premiums and while managing our risk levels
blah blah blah blah, i go on and on and on and the guy on the other end is developing a scab from constant head-scratching. and that’s about the maximum real-world harm i’m willing to inflict. i know this sounds like an elaborate as fuck confidence scam but it isn’t. that shit makes me sick. i’d literally slam my arms in a car door before taking a cent from all this. hell, i’ll go out of my way to guarantee i don’t even piss anyone off or offend them or anything.
your guess is as good as mine but i do stuff like this constantly for anything i know well enough and the example i gave above is just a pretty low quality one i made up on the spot. this is a public blog after all.
anyways, cheers, hoping this saves me from dying or whatever the hell i was talking about before that could have probably been cut out. Namaste. Mahala.

Frozen Fingers (Feysand Drabble)
Tumblr media
Not even a lifetime of living in the mountains could make Rhys get used to the snow. In fact, he could barely stand it, let alone consider it a normal, acceptable part of his day-to-day life. Still, he found himself enduring it, following Feyre through the streets of Velaris as she skipped from stall to stall, trying to find the perfect solstice gift for everyone.
Rhysand greeted his people as they passed him by, wishing him and Feyre a happy Solstice. He was pleased to know his grumpiness wasn’t showing, even if he was extremely uncomfortable and missed feeling the fingers on his hand.
Feyre darling, he purred down the bond, earning him a glance from Feyre, who was already walking a few feet ahead. Would you mind terribly if I escaped to Rita’s while you’re shopping? At least there he could get something warm to drink. Maybe even escape death via hypothermia. One could hope.
Feyre, however, didn’t seem very pleased. You want to go to the pleasure hall while I shop?
Right. Not the best idea when she said it, was it?
I feel like there’s a wrong answer to that question.
He heard Feyre’s chuckle ringing through the bond. Care to find out?
Not particularly. He kept strolling after her, head swivelling as he took in a stall selling all sorts of fabrics.
I’m nearly done, either way.
Rhys hummed, perking up at that. Earlier today, when he could still feel his toes, Feyre had visited his favourite shop– a small store selling those little unmentionables he so adored seeing adorning her body. He had been able to peep into the dressing room for 2 seconds to check exactly what she had been buying before the vendor had politely, yet sternly kicked him out of her store.
It’s a surprise for later, she had explained down the bond, giggling.
Yes, if Rhysand helped Feyre get the remaining gift, maybe they could rush home.
Whose gift is missing?
Nothing. Not even a sound. Rhysand turned around, searching for Feyre among the throng of people that suddenly seemed to invade every nook and cranny of the plaza. Only seconds ago, she had been right in front of him, talking with one of the sellers up ahead.
Feyre?
Rhysand frowned, walking a bit faster as he tried to not let worry overtake his rational side. Or whatever remained of it. He walked from stall to stall, his concern growing as Feyre remained out of sight.
He took a deep breath, prepared to, quite literally, call out her name… only to find Feyre crossing the plaza, her cheeks and nose rosy from the cold. Her eyes met his, a smirk on his lips as she made her way towards him.
Someone’s ruffled.
“Where did you go?” He asked once he reached her, his eyes tracing her every feature.
Feyre shrugged, a secret smile on her lips. “I was just across the plaza.” She held out a red cup, the rich scent of chocolate dancing in the space between them. “For you.” She said, eyes flickering to his as if she wasn’t entirely sure he’d accept her gift.
Rhysand eyed her warily, a soft smile on his lips as he watched another snowflake fall against the freckles on her nose. “Thank you.” He said softly. Feyre nodded, pressing against him as she held onto his arm. Rhysand tried to pretend he didn't notice the gift bang hanging from her other bag – the one she clearly didn’t want him to see. Rhysand shook his head, chuckling under his breath.
Feyre simply smiled up at him. “Still cold?”
Rhysand felt himself melt under her gaze, unable to not smile back despite the mild heart attack she had given him just a few minutes ago. Nothing could’ve made him look away from her brilliant eyes – not even the fact it had started bloody snowing again. Truly, he could barely feel it.
“No,” He said. “Not anymore.”

Today marks two years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This week, we detailed the growing crisis in Eastern Ukraine, which is now littered with deadly mines. As it fights back the invading Russian forces, Ukraine’s government is working to develop new mine-clearing technology that could help save lives around the globe.
A leaked document obtained by WIRED has revealed the secret placement of gunshot-detection sensors in locations around the United States and its territories. According to the document, which ShotSpotter's parent company authenticated, the sensors, which are used by police departments in dozens of metropolitan areas in the United States, are largely located in low-income and minority communities, according to WIRED’s analysis, adding crucial context in a long-running debate over police use of the technology.
Speaking of leaks, WIRED this week obtained 15 years of messages posted to an internal system used by members of the US Congress. The House Intelligence Committee used the “Dear Colleagues” system to warn lawmakers of an “urgent matter”—something that has not happened since at least 2009. That urgent matter, which was quickly leaked to the press, turned out to be related to Russian military research of space-based weapons. But some sources say the matter wasn’t urgent at all, and the warning was instead an attempt by House Intelligence leadership to derail a vote on privacy reforms to a major US surveillance program.
On Tuesday, a coalition of law enforcement agencies led by the UK’s National Crime Agency disrupted the LockBit ransomware gang’s operation, seizing its infrastructure, dark-web leak site, and code used to carry out its attacks against thousands of institutions globally. Although ransomware attacks resulted in a record $1.1 billion in ransom payments last year, Anne Neuberger, a top US cyber official in the Biden administration, tells WIRED how the 2021 ransomware attack on Colonial Pipeline has transformed the ways American institutions defend against and respond to such attacks.
In dual wins for privacy this week, the Signal Foundation began its rollout of usernames for its popular end-to-end encrypted messaging app. The update will allow people to connect without having to reveal their phone numbers. Meanwhile, Apple began to future-proof its encryption for iMessage with the launch of PQ3, a next-generation encryption protocol designed to resist decryption from quantum computers.
And there’s more. Each week, we highlight the news we didn’t cover in-depth ourselves. Click on the headlines below to read the full stories. And stay safe out there.
A Mysterious Leak Exposed Chinese Hacking Secrets
Hundreds of documents linked to a Chinese hacking-for-hire firm were dumped online this week. The files belong to i-Soon, a Shanghai-based company, and give a rare glimpse into the secretive world of the industry that supports China’s state-backed hacking. The leak includes details of Chinese hacking operations, lists of victims and potential targets, and the day-to-day complaints of i-Soon staff.
“These leaked documents support TeamT5’s long-standing analysis: China's private cybersecurity sector is pivotal in supporting China’s APT attacks globally,” Che Chang, a cyber threat analyst at the Taiwan-based cybersecurity firm TeamT5, tells WIRED. Chang says the company has been tracking i-Soon since 2020 and found that it has a close relationship with Chengdu 404, a company linked to China’s state-backed hackers.
While the documents have now been removed from GitHub, where they were first posted, the identity and motivations of the person, or people, who leaked them remains a mystery. However, Chang says the documents appear to be real, a fact confirmed by two employees working for i-Soon, according to the Associated Press, which reported that the company and police in China are investigating the leak.
“There are around eight categories of the leaked files. We can see how i-Soon engaged with China's national security authorities, the details of i-Soon’s products and financial problems,” Chang says. “More importantly, we spotted documents detailing how i-Soon supported the development of the notorious remote access Trojan (RAT), ShadowPad,” Chang adds. The ShadowPad malware has been used by Chinese hacking groups since at least 2017.
Since the files were first published, security researchers have been poring over their contents and analyzing the documentation. Included were references to software to run disinformation campaigns on X, details of efforts to access communications data across Asia, and targets within governments in the United Kingdom, India, and elsewhere, according to reports by the New York Times and the The Washington Post. The documents also reveal how i-Soon worked for China’s Ministry of State Security and the People’s Liberation Army.
According to researchers at SentinelOne, the files also include pictures of “custom hardware snooping devices,” such as a power bank that could help steal data and the company’s marketing materials. “In a bid to get work in Xinjiang–where China subjects millions of Ugyhurs to what the UN Human Rights Council has called genocide–the company bragged about past counterterrorism work,” the researchers write. “The company listed other terrorism-related targets the company had hacked previously as evidence of their ability to perform these tasks, including targeting counterterrorism centers in Pakistan and Afghanistan.”
Avast Fined for Selling People’s Browsing Data
The Federal Trade Commission has fined antivirus firm Avast $16.5 for collecting and selling people’s web browsing data through its browser extensions and security software. This included the details of web searches and the sites people visited, which, according to the FTC, revealed people’s “religious beliefs, health concerns, political leanings, location, financial status, visits to child-directed content and other sensitive information.” The company sold the data through its subsidiary Jumpshot, the FTC said in an order announcing the fine.
The ban also places five obligations on Avast: not to sell or license browsing data for advertising purposes; to obtain consent if it is selling data from non-Avast products; delete information it transferred to Jumpshot and any algorithms created from the data; tell customers about the data it sold; and introduce a new privacy program to address the problems the FTC found. An Avast spokesperson said that while they “disagree with the FTC’s allegations and characterization of the facts,” they are “pleased to resolve this matter.”
Scammers Sent Apple 5,000 Fake iPhones, Hoped to Get Real Devices in Return
Two Chinese nationals living in Maryland—Haotian Sun and Pengfei Xue—have been convicted of mail fraud and a conspiracy to commit mail fraud for a scheme that involved sending 5,000 counterfeit iPhones to Apple. The pair, who could each face up to 20 years in prison, according to the The Register, hoped Apple would send them real phones in return. The fake phones had “spoofed serial numbers and/or IMEI numbers” to trick Apple stores or authorized service providers into thinking they were genuine. The scam took place between May 2017 and September 2019 and would have cost Apple more than $3 million in losses, a US Department of Justice press release says.
Fingerprints Cloned From the Sound They Make on Your Screen
Security researchers from the US and China have created a new side-channel attack that can reconstruct people’s fingerprints from the sounds they create as you swipe them across your phone screen. The researchers used built-in microphones in devices to capture the “faint friction sounds” made by a finger and then used these sounds to create fingerprints. “The attack scenario of PrintListener is extensive and covert,” the researchers write in a paper detailing their work. “It can attack up to 27.9 percent of partial fingerprints and 9.3 percent of complete fingerprints within five attempts.” The research raises concerns about real-world hackers who are attempting to steal people’s biometrics to access bank accounts.

Ok now to continue our previous conversation. It's so interesting how his possessive and part condescending attitude towards Johnny turned into paranoid delusions of persecution which can be seen in songs like "Speedway" and the open letter. Either way the obsession persists (even though the possessiveness can still be felt in the autobiography). I find it funny how Moz always tries to be indifferent or nonchalant when talking about Johnny or the Smiths but if there is one thing Moz can never succeed at is stoicism. He can easily turn into Heathcliff when Johnny becomes the topic. If they ever film a biopic of the Smiths they should play Ferry's cover of Jealous Guy while covering the collab. I wonder if Ferry's connection to pro-hunting activists also flamed Moz's jealousy and antagonism. As for Bowie, I do think they ended up on good terms, however I do find Morrissey's irritability with him so hilarious, especially as Bowie seemed to really like him. I honestly am not sure if Bowie really tried to collaborate with Johnny. While Morrissey might have disliked him, Johnny LOVES Bowie (which might be a reason for Morrissey's distate of him...). He mentions him in so many interviews and such, if he did try to collaborate with Johnny, I feel Johnny would never stop talking about it (or if true those mentions could be due to regret of refusing him and he wants to make up for that). Nevertheless I wonder if Moz dreamed up that proposition in a insecure jealous rage.
we're back on ❤️
Speedway is INCREEEEDIBLE the things it does to me. it is such a menacing, threatening, bone-chilling song of lifelong love and loyalty, is it not? and you won't smile / until my loving mouth / is shut good and proper / forever
he has no trust and no faith in the other person (in the popular interpretation being Johnny) reciprocating his feelings, that they won't sell him out or use him for a cheap laugh but this here is his reminder of their unspoken connection or shared secret and his promise to take it to the grave but my god, is it explicit
i don't think his paranoia and persecution complex are utterly baseless. both still persist to this day (his Jan 6, 2023 post on Central - "The campaign to destroy my career was originally led by four male individuals in Britain… - and they have full unedited access to the Legacy Media. … They want some form of Wikipedia mention as well as a future personal Index reference in 'Who Killed Morrissey?'"). UK press has long had a vested interest in taking him down, and with Moz being such a polarizing person they've had an easy job of selling papers then and getting hits now by tearing him a new one, especially if these outlets can get a soundbite of Saint Johnny "denouncing" his most prominent and infamous former partner. at which point, the pot had boiled over and Moz had to come out and say "for the love of god, shut up". i could have mentioned your name / i could have dragged you in in Speedway and I have not ever attacked your solo work or your solo life in the open letter
so the transition of his possessiveness when he had Johnny into paranoid delusions of persecution as you so well put it seems almost predictable. he no longer had Johnny in his corner, and i think he truly saw that at the trial and just never got over it
LMAO strangely enough, i thought Moz did a better job of cutting the Smiths umbilical cord and giving the appearance of moving on in the autobio. but he was almost obnoxious about and i had to wonder if he was trying to convince himself or the reader
I smile at the thought of a Smiths reunion, for I’ve got everything now.
as the iloveYouiloveYouiloveYou audience rushes the stage … Smiths re-formation? What for?
it's like, i wasn't thinking of the Smiths or their reformation here, Moz, but you clearly were
Johnny was so funny though. whenever i thought, oh this'll probably be the last time he mentions him, he kept dragging Moz back up. oh you met up in a bar, oh you were sippin on OJ and he beer, oh you two hugged, that's all cute. Our communication ended, and things went back to how they were and how I expect they always will be. and just as you think, this is it, he goes on to describe his email communication with Moz. [A]lthough I felt I'd created a moment of friendship on some level I felt an air of dissatisfaction and distrust remained between us. It was a shame. and when just a few pages ago, he felt resigned to this fact, he openly regrets the way things are between the two of them here
Moz actually talks about being somewhat of a fan of Roxy Music in 1972 but he cools off on Ferry in the next couple of years, even before the Smiths are a twinkle in his and Johnny's eyes so i think he inevitably was an unwelcome intrusion in Moz's Smithsdom
The song is madcap in construction, and singer Bryan Ferry is an honored northern guest – escapist but shy, a slither of glamor rippling like the sea. Roxy Music are resolutely odd, and Agatha Christie queer; the smile of Ferry is Hiroshima mean, as he shuffles crab-style from stage right to stage left … like someone who’s had his food dish removed. It’s a voice of cold metal, just barely skin deep. I eagerly catch his first Radio One interview wherein he falls asleep at the drone of his own replies.. ... The technical detachment of Roxy Music is, briefly and possibly accidentally, a radical experience, one that they swiftly dispense with once they establish a large audience. But before they lose their strangeness they are magnificent, and the drabness of true artifice comes alive.
‘Morrissey, you were absent last week – where were you?’ asks Mr Barry.
‘I went to Preston to see Roxy Music,’ I explain in perfectly level tone.
‘Oooooooooh, no you don’t!’ booms Mr Barry, full of civic bureaucracy and clan-in-the-right. This recalcitrant malaise! Punish the boy! Punish! Punish! Punish! The price you pay for the quest of art. But Roxy Music will drop quickly from the emotional radar soon, as singer Bryan Ferry announces that his favorite food is veal – second only to foie gras in savage cruelty.
oh lol i don't think Bowie and Johnny ever really crossed paths but it's definitely a thing Moz could hold over Johnny's head if they were in some sort of unspoken competition post-Smiths. but i wonder if Moz's insecurity in the face of Bowie's star power and showmanship ("David Showie" good one, Moz) wasn't what made him walk or if he felt too good to be playing second-fiddle to the 90s Bowie. ah Mozzie's interpersonal relationships will always remain shrouded in mystery but i think other people like him more than he likes them or they like him more than he is willing to give them credit for
[MARCH 1 EDIT] i was debating whether to wait to be corrected or to set the facts straight myself with regard to Johnny and Bowie... because i spied this in Moz's autobiography only the other day! but HERE GOES
David Bowie, who feeds on the blood of living mammals, rises like Christopher Lee to present a bouquet of flowers to Johnny. But Johnny is not taken in. If I had felt that the Smiths’ demise had left me on the scaffold, then Johnny surely felt the same. He quickly joins the Pretenders, and he just as quickly is ‘asked to leave’. Chrissie Hynde explains to me that Johnny’s perpetual lateness made progress impossible.
the Pretenders part isn't particularly relevant except it's just Moz being needlessly snarky and gossipy, and that's always fun. the period in their lives when all this was happening can also be easily gleaned from here. but omg did Moz HAVE to make it sound like an unsuccessful courtship and like Johnny spurned Bowie? the same Johnny who giddily recounted jamming with Paul McCartney but breathed not a word of this? did this really happen? who were Morrissey's sources
obviously, these are hardly facts. these are Morrissey's words, and a jealous Morrissey at that. the less than flattering description of Bowie as a bloodsucking boogeyman towering over his ex-partner and readying to sap Johnny of his vitality paints such a fantastic picture. Moz, what a guy

Netflix
Disclaimer: I didn’t watch it. I don’t intend to watch it any time soon. These are based on clips I’ve seen and articles I’ve read about the show.
Confirmed
1. Harry used Soho House for sex - Markus was his pimp, Meghan one of the girls ‘on the menu.’ (Harry said in the documentary that he saw a picture of Meghan, with the dog filter, on Instagram and slid into her DMs. Internet sleuths determined that the picture was likely posted on Markus’s feed, where Harry saw it, since Soho was their only mutual connection.)
2. Meghan used Markus/Soho House to meet men. (See above)
3. Meghan photoshops the children for appearances to make them look better than they actually are. (Netflix footage shows both children with Meghan’s dark  eyes and hair; however, all publicly released photographs in color show the children with Harry’s red hair. This is probably why Meghan favors black and white photographs - easier to hide the evidence.)
4. Harry to attack William and Kate in his new memoirs, reveal classism against Meghan. (In the Netflix series, Meghan says Will and Kate are as formal behind closed doors as they are in public. They wouldn’t hug her when they were first introduced.)
5. Meghan was unhappy with her portrayal in the docuseries and will attempt to discredit it and/or threaten to sue over it. (Meghan said in one of her summer 2022 interviews that “it wasn’t how we would have done it.”)
6. Harry and Meghan to co-opt Kate’s story (of press harassment and paparazzi stalking) as Meghan’s to justify why they left or are so controlling of their privacy.
7. Netflix series to target Jason Knauf and blame him for everything, including Megxit criticism. (Knauf was specifically mentioned and discussed in the second half of the series with a villain edit.)
8. Netflix series to flop or otherwise end disastrously. (Universally panned by critics, viewers, and social media.)
9. Eugenie to appear in the Netflix docuseries. (In private photographs of her visits to California and Toronto, but same thing.)
10. Secret/private footage of the Sussex relationship, including behind-the-scenes wedding and engagement details, will be included in the docuseries.
11. “Recreated” scenes from their wedding and relationship for Netflix. (Used private never-before-seen photographs. Some theories that they redid Harry’s proposal to film for Netflix given various inconsistencies.)
12. Meghan kept children’s faces/existences “obscured” to sell their pictures for profit. (Children, or at least Archie was, prominently featured in docuseries.)
Partially Confirmed
1. Meghan took pictures in unrestricted areas of Kensington Palace. (Private photographs of not-accessible-by-the-public areas of Kensington Palace and other royal homes shared in the Netflix docuseries.)
2. Docuseries to include footage of Diana’s Panorama interview, which will have to be recut and delayed after the BBC announced in July 2022 that they would never show or lease footage from the interview again. (The docuseries included footage but the series was not recut or delayed, that we know of. After the series debuted, BBC announced that they were unsure how Netflix obtained the Panorama footage as they did not request permission from the BBC.)
3. The Netflix docuseries will be more satire than truthful storytelling, like Tiger King. It will be successful for Netflix but failure for the Sussexes. (The series wasn’t satire but it was poorly received and lacked critical praise. It was successful for Netflix in terms of its viewer statistics compared to other docuseries.)
4. Meghan to pop off after an unsuccessful run of “reuniting with the royals” PR. (Some consider her statements and actions in some of the commentary on the docuseries to be a response to the BRF failing to reciprocate or fall for her PR schemes.)
5. Netflix series to be edited. Charity visits were too controversial and portray Meghan terribly following Queen’s death and global tributes to service. (We know that there were Netflix cameras at Uvalde and the United Nations. We suspect that there were also Netflix cameras at other charity visits like the Harlem Bench reading and Meghan’s Baby2Baby volunteering. None of these visits were included in the docuseries.)
Plausible
1. Meghan used IVF to conceive Archie before the wedding. (Events and photographs in the Netflix series confirms that Harry and Meghan likely used a surrogate or some kind of ‘outside’ help.)
Busted
1. Archie is actually the biological son of Meghan’s friend, doesn’t live with Meghan and Harry. (Tons of footage and private pictures of Archie with Meghan and Harry in the documentary.)
2. The “real” Lili is an Australian baby model. (Netflix docuseries has pictures of Lili from birth and show a closeness between Archie and Lili that wouldn’t otherwise exist if they were never around each other.)
3. Royal christening for Lili after Charles ascends, before coronation. (According to the Netflix series, Tyler Perry is Lili’s godfather but he accepted the honor only if they didn’t have the ceremony in London with the royals.)
4. Royal christening for Lili with The Queen attending. (see above)
5. Sussexes wanted to significantly re-edit the Netflix series and delay it to 2023 to remove comments about Chares, Camilla, William, and Catherine following The Queen’s death. (Series premiered December 2022. Inflammatory comments remained included.)
6. The Netflix series will be called “Chapters.” (”Harry and Meghan”)
7. Netflix docuseries to be mainly archival footage from their time as royals with new commentary. (Current footage and photography as recent as 2021 with Lili’s birth, private videos made by Harry and Meghan throughout their whole relationship.)
8. Netflix series to be re-edited after use of stock footage/photography in the trailers received universal criticism. (Doesn’t appear to have happened.)
9. Netflix series delayed due to copyright issues over use of uncredited or unpurchased stock footage. (Premiered on time on December 8, 2022.)
10. Series to be re-edited after The Queen’s death because of insults to the BRF that, if left in, would ruin Meghan’s reputation. (Series wasn’t re-edited, if the curtsy gag stayed in.)

Shadowrun: Neon Fire - The ROs
Time for a post to introduce the romance options for Shadowrun: Neon Fire.
Early in the game, your character has to relocate from their native Seattle to Neo-Tokyo. There, they will meet an established crew of Shadowrunners which they will join. If you want to work effectively as a team, you’ll need to win the respect of this crew of hardened professionals, who don’t know you or have any reason to trust you.
But it’s possible that you might win more than trust from one of this motley crew...
Quick Note on Gender: The ROs in Neon Fire are gender-selectable. You’ll be able to choose whether you want them all to be women, all to be men, all to be nb, a random mix of these, or pre-set genders. For convenience, in the descriptions below, I’ll be referring to them by their pre-set genders. However, in the actual game their gender will be up to you. So if you like the look of one of them but they’re the wrong gender for you, don’t worry, you’ll be able to change this in game.
SPIDER: A male human physical adept. Spider remembers nothing of his birth parents or family. As a very young child, he was sold to a mysterious religious order who live in a remote mountain monastery in rural Japan. The order trained him up to be a proficient killer, teaching him how to channel his magical energies into remarkable feats of combat strength and agility. But after tragedy struck within his community, he came to learn some hard truths about the order and their agenda. Troubled, he ran away and ended up selling his services in the Neo-Tokyo shadows. He’s a skilled operator with sound judgment, but also inflexible and authoritarian, expecting from his crew the same unremitting and fierce discipline that he demands of himself. His leadership style is already causing tensions within the crew, even before you turn up to add another variable to the volatile mix...
SMOKY: A female troll rigger who grew up on the mean streets of the East End of the London sprawl. Smoky possesses a scrappy optimism, a kind disposition that is rare in shadowrunners, and a child-like enthusiasm for all things mechanical. As a teenager, she saw the military as a way out of a life of crime, and she spent a couple of years as a British Army drone operator, before her unit was sent into the Lambeth Containment Zone to suppress a riot. Issued with an unethical order, she refused to obey, and this pissed off her superiors so much that she felt that she had no option but to flee to the other side of the world to escape the clutches of the Lord Protector’s vengeful agents. She’s made a good life for herself in Neo-Tokyo, but she still has unfinished business back home in London. Maybe one of these days someone will come along who can help her put the ghosts of the past to rest...
DAISHO: A male human street samurai, Daiso is the mystery of the group. He takes the “samurai” part of his job description more seriously than most, and self identifies as a ronin, a masterless elite fighter. When pressed on this, he will reply that he is a failure who does not deserve a master. His background is a closely guarded secret. He is guided by a rigid and inflexible moral code, which can cause problems on runs and infuriate his fellow crew-members. After all, shadowrunning is no job for a moralist.
BLACKHAT: A nonbinary elf decker. A native of the elven nation of Tir Tairngire, Blackhat is the illegitimate child of a member of the Council of Princes and a human servant who worked on his estate. Upon hearing of his servant’s pregnancy, Blackhat’s father cast her out of the house, plunging her and her child into poverty and a life in the slums of Portland. Although they were born an elf, Blackhat grew to hate the callous elven father who had condemned them and their mother to poverty, and this grew into a broad hatred of the elven supremacy that structures Tir Tairngire society. Young Blackhat began to associate with a revolutionary movement opposed to elven domination. And then, one day, they did something Bad: something so bad that it enraged the entire Tir Tairngire establishment and they had to flee. Since then, they have been hiding in Neo-Tokyo. But Tir Tairngire’s security services are on their trail, and the Ghost Commandos always get their target in the end...
CROWLEY: A female oni mage. A little older than the rest of the crew, Crowley grew up in unimaginable deprivation. Born during the period of Imperial Japan’s anti-metahuman segregation, Crowley was born in one of the detention camps on Yomi Island, the penal colony in the Philippines where Imperial Japan sent all non-humans. Her parents died when she was young in a confrontation with the camp guards, and Crowley had to learn how to fend for herself. She got to know a kindly ork mage in the camp, who secretly taught her how to develop her awakened talents. She thought that she had finally found a protector - until the old ork’s life came under threat and he sold her out to the authorities to save his own skin. She managed to escape Yomi aboard a smuggling vessel before the goons could catch her, and she spent years living in secret in Neo-Tokyo as part of an illegal underground metahuman community. Then the enlightened new emperor revoked Japan’s discriminatory policies and closed the camps on Yomi, and suddenly Crowley and her kind were welcome on Japanese soil. And so was her betrayer, who’s out there somewhere, living in the labyrinthine ork and troll slums of Yokohama... Her deprived and brutal upbringing has made her harsh, self-protective and reflexively hostile to outsiders. Can you break through that armor and discover what it protects?

My GTA V Online Random Snapshot/Screenshot/Video [Jan 13th, 2023]
Hello, and welcome to my installment of Random Snapshot/Screenshot/Video in GTA V Online. Yup, I add ANOTHER part of my random media. Hehe!😁
• And in my first random post of 2023, I found something that I need.... *rubbing my hands* Hehehe... 👏😏
Tumblr media
But before that, if you haven't watched by previous random post, then please [CLICK ME!].
My Recorded video (via XBOX Game Bar) ⏺️🎮🖥️: [Pls watch.] ↑
• Well, the snowy day is out, and everything is back to normal. Anyways, I'm now at the Palmer-Taylor Power Station to show you something interesting. You could see the icon of the "gun van", and this person sells existing weapons that you've already seen before, including armor vests & throwables. 🔫🦺🚛🧑 Except one, however, and that's the portable devastating "Railgun" ⚡🔫! That's right, we're now finally getting our hands on the futuristic "Railgun" in our online world (I meant, GTA V Online) after a LONG years of waiting & rumors spread. In fact, this energy blaster appeared a long, long, LONG time ago before the debut of the online version (specifically in 2013). Originally, this can be found in adversary modes, mission sessions, and also free roam missions, but we can't keep it in the free mode until 2023. So yeah, we've been waiting for nine "freaking" years 🗓️ (not ten) to purchase our own railgun from a guy who sells weapons at the back of the van.
• And, how much the Railgun cost? GTA$ 657,000! (others say GTA$ 730,000) It's freakingly expensive 😮💵, but, I'm happy to oblige. The railgun's ammo cost GTA$ 900 each, and it's capable of 20 shots. Mmmm... It's not bad. I also buy the "Combat Shotgun" 🔫 w/ suppressor & a flashlight, and also a "Knife" 🗡️because everyone wants a go silent throat kill with a knife, right? Anyway, once I owned a Railgun, it is now permanent in my weapon wheel. And if I need a reload my railgun then I could go to my "Interaction Menu" (by pressing "M" on the keyboard or holding the "Select" button on the controller) & select "Ammo".
Overall:
• Is it worth the wait for the Railgun in our weapon wheel? Absolutely! 😃 Again, we've been waiting for so long & our wishlist was granted by the developers. This could be an alternative solution just in case our Mk II weapons w/ explosive Ammos are rung out. And yes, this could be worst for griefers, tryhards, hackers, cheaters & other toxic players when using a Railgun. (they have "No Responsibility" 😡) *Sigh* I would prefer to stay away from players wielding a Railgun by switching "Passive". I would rather go "Solo" & enjoy wielding my own, thank you very much.😒
Important Note: If you want a buy the Railgun, then this video might help for you → [CLICK ME! #1]. And if you want to go deeper info (about the Railgun), then please [CLICK ME! #2], [CLICK ME! #3], [CLICK ME! #4].
Well, that’s all for now. And If you want to see my previous car prize, and more, then please → [CLICK ME!]. 😉
(Where do all the links go you may ask? I made a post about all GTA V Online-related links. This will prevent error save drafts, in my future post. Plus, I’m always updating my link post.)

What Would Rachel Do?
Accept Failure and Move On
Rachel's first book, Under the Sea Wind (1941), was a flop, selling less than 2k copies. Carson chalked it up to timing - it came out on the eve of World War II - but also blamed her publisher, Simon and Schuster, for lack of marketing. Specifically, she was miffed that they hadn't taken her guidance on the target market - naturalists, nature lovers, sportsmen and women. Her only consolation was the rave reviews the book received from places like the New York Times, colleagues, and critics. Even so, she only netted 1k for her efforts. Rachel need for income beyond her government salary caused her to hesitate to pay $150.00 for the rights back from Simon and Schuster for Under the Sea Wind. But when they refused to issue a reprint, she found the money. She knew she was on to something and her love of the sea and the general lack of knowledge about its secrets piqued her innate curiosity to discover more. But she was also a realist. She had mouths to feed. Her work with the Fish and Wildlife Service bar3ely paid the bills and Rachel sought wider recognition for her talents. Bored with writing technical documents on commercial fishery production reports, she sought out stories at that may interest the general public and spin a tale she could pitch to magazines. For example, a piece on bat echolocation skills landed her a paid gig with Reader's Digest magazine. The random $150-$200 for a piece must have kept her satisfied in the creative realm but Rachel knew she was capable of more. I can relate to some of her disappointment at sales. I've spent my own money on research for the Durant Family Saga and The Truth of Who You Are. It was all worth it - staying curious is another blog post to watch for - however, there does come a time when, as a creative you have to consider how much of your time and money to put into something and realize a pay out. In Rachel's case, she was supporting a family. Same goes for me. At times I feel as if what I'm doing may be more frivolous than art. I know I have fans that enjoy my work, but like Rachel, I've had to deal with a lot of rejection. And not much monetary compensation for my time and effort. I'd like to attribute Rachel's eventual success to 'grit' or stick-to-ed-ness. However, I'm inclined to think that perhaps her greatest talent (besides conveying complex scientific information in a form that is both creative and inspiring) was knowing when to move on.  She kept up her oceanic research, taking notes on scientific discoveries and the latest sonar technologies. She even managed to get on a research vessel, rare for a woman in those days, observing a fish census for eight days conducted by scientists of the Fish and Wildlife Service. Feeling she had enough material to embark on a new project, she enlisted a literary agent to pitch it: The Sea Around Us - a biography of the sea that would appeal to the lay public. Oxford Press agreed to publish (1951). As was the custom in those days, she sent the first few chapters to several magazines for pre-publication and to entice an audience of potential readers. And was barraged with rejections. Readers Digest, The National Geographic, The Saturday Eventing Post - all said no.   It was an editor at the New Yorker who saw the potential of her work. And things started happening for Rachel. Source: Brooks, Paul. 1989. Rachel Carson: The Writer at Work.

Trumps firm charged Secret Service exorbitant lodge charges to guard the primary household Home committee report says
CNN  —  The Trump Group charged the Secret Service “exorbitant charges – upwards of $1.4 million over 4 years – to guard the previous President and his household at properties they owned, in line with paperwork launched by the Home Oversight Committee on Monday. The committee discovered that the Trump Group charged the Secret Service “extreme nightly charges on dozens of journeys” as excessive as $1,185 per night time regardless of claims by the previous President’s firm that federal staff touring with him would keep at these properties “without spending a dime” or “at value.” “The exorbitant charges charged to the Secret Service and brokers’ frequent stays at Trump-owned properties increase important considerations concerning the former President’s self-dealing and will have resulted in a taxpayer-funded windfall for former President Trump’s struggling companies,” the panel’s chairwoman, New York Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney, wrote in a letter to the service’s director on Monday. When he was president, Trump traveled continuously to properties his firm ran as companies, together with Mar-a-Lago in Palm Seashore, Florida, and the Trump Nationwide Golf Membership in Bedminster, New Jersey. Whereas he was there, some brokers and officers stayed in rooms at these properties, although others rented rooms at close by inns. Charging his protecting element for lodging at his personal properties was a controversial apply when Trump was in workplace and has continued in his post-presidency. Maloney additionally notes that her committee has been looking for a full accounting of the Secret Service’s expenditures at Trump-owned properties for greater than two years however nonetheless has not obtained full info on nightly charges or the whole quantity the company spent, which “seems to exceed $1.4 million of taxpayer cash.” The committee remains to be looking for information from the Secret Service, noting the panel is potential laws to stop “presidential self-dealing and profiteering, in addition to to curb conflicts of curiosity by guaranteeing that future presidents are prevented from exercising undue affect on Secret Service spending.” In a press release, Eric Trump mentioned that “any providers rendered to the US Secret Service or different authorities companies” at Trump-owned inns “had been at their request and had been both offered at value, closely discounted or without spending a dime.” The committee mentioned the Trump Group charged the Secret Service greater than the federal government price at the very least 40 instances from January 2017 to September 2021. A kind of instances was in March 2017 when the Trump Group charged a nightly price of $1,160 to remain on the Trump lodge in Washington, DC, to guard Eric Trump, who was selling a golf match on the Trump Nationwide Golf Membership. Based on the Normal Providers Administration’s web site, the per diem price was $242 in March 2017 in Washington, DC. In a press release, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi mentioned the company has obtained the letter from the committee however didn’t focus on the precise particulars. “Safeguarding our protectees is a part of the company’s zero fail mission and our absolute highest precedence. Protecting particulars should all the time be inside arm’s attain of a protecting 24 hours a day and that requires us to journey to the place they journey,” Guglielmi mentioned. This story has been up to date with extra particulars. Originally published at Irvine News HQ

Week 2: Elevator Pitch 'The Pla(n)tformer'
Hey there!
In our first project we will develop a platformer game. As mentioned in my About me post, I'm totally new to the game design area, so bear with me if things don't go smoothly.
By now, my biggest fear is that I develop something conceptually and then not be able to implement it. Coming from a computer science background, I know that at least at the level we're working on in this course, quite a lot should be possible. However, at the beginning I am not aware of all the limitations of GDevelop. But as described in Tracy Fullerton's (2018, p. 5) 'Game design workshop: a playcentric approach to creating innovative games', developing a game is like a living system that can change through the development cycle. So nothing is set in stone. Accordingly, there is always the possibility to change something. Although this statement was probably more in the sense of better playability and the player’s interests and not about difficulties in the implementation. But I am sure throughout the semester I will learn how to design games and how to handle the tools. As Fullerton (2018, p. 266) said 'Programmers should also be literate in the design process [so that they can create feasible designs and also so that they can communicate effectively with their technical team members]. '
Because of this, I wanted to keep my first project a bit simpler. The task was to find something that is unique from other platformers. Quite a difficult task considering the abundance of different platformers. We should follow Fullerton's (2018, p. 264) advice and not develop something that already exists dozens of times. I probably ended up right there and my idea isn't exactly innovative (I mean, it's still a platformer) but maybe have a look at my Elevator Pitch anyways:
Title:
The Pla(n)tformer
Platformer Elevator Pitch:
In the platformer game The Pla(n)tformer players will explore a world of different plants and must find out how they can benefit from their properties to be able to traverse across the level. Some plants will shrink them, some will make them grow, and others can hurt them. As the players traverse through the level, they must collect secrets and only if they found all the secrets the level will be completed.
Genre:
Platformer
Target Audience:
Platformers are suitable for all target groups. Accordingly, the game should address to both young and older players.
Image:
I provide you a simple sketch of the main idea of the game. As you can see, I am not an artist. Anyways, if the player wants to collect the secret, the player needs to shrink its character beforehand to pass the bottleneck area.
Tumblr media
Controls:
Standard controls with arrow left and arrow right to move left and right. The space key will be used to jump.
3 Unique Selling Points:
Changing the character’s size to travers through the level
Secrets can only be accessed if the character has a specific size
Plants have different attributes, if the players collide with them they will growth, shrink, get damage or health

Internal and External enemies
A day off in Tirane. Hop on the Number 11 bus that takes us to the outskirts of town to BunkArt 1.[1] All buses cost 40 Leke regardless of whether you go for one stop or twenty.
BunkArt is the most famous video-musuem exhibition in Albania, realised inside a super-bunker mined out under a hill. An underground palace (I’m quoting from the brochure here) with 102 rooms in which Hoxha and his cronies would be sheltered in the event of a nuclear war. A unique and exciting journey through the history of Albania from 1939 until the fall of the regime. This futile place was born out of Enver Hoxha’s fear, insecurity and a huge dollop of paranoia. Even more useless because Hoxha/Albania had no response to a nuclear attack so once locked inside there was nothing for him, his wife and generals to do but bicker and wait.
Tumblr media
Few information boards have English translations however; in one room there is a large red button to push to simulate a mustard gas attack. Press the button and a puff of yellow dust is squirted at you. Very nice. Turns out the clean air filtration systems were rather leaky and the concrete doors failed to make an airtight lock too.
Tumblr media
The ticket office is staffed by two people. A young girl who sells the tickets and an older guy who looks over her shoulder. Tickets bought the older guy then nips out of the back door of the hut at accost you moments later in order to check your ticket. Speaking to this chap later, although he still exhibited that old commie reticence and suspicion, he told us that the larger building adjacent to the entrance was commissioned by Hoxha’s Generals as a shared-use offices. Hoxha believed they were all plotting against him so had them all arrested and shot.
Next, to the House of Leaves.[2] Romantically named but as with all things Albanian hiding a dark past. More post-communism nods to Tirane and Albania shaking off, or at least acknowledging, its past. However, according to this museum, the perpetrators of various horrors mostly got away with it. No Truth and Reconciliation Commission here. Also known as the National Museum of Secret Surveillance. Formerly a maternity clinic for the privileged few, later an interrogation centre for the masses. In the Hoxha era the way to get ahead or to curry favour and keep yourself safe was to inform. Everybody was at it; such was the cultural indoctrination that mistrust ruled.

In the evening we head to Blloku, “The Block”, the affluent bohemian nightlife area for good food at Era.[3] Rollers, Bentleys and top end Mercs and Audis are very much in evidence.
