Notes! Spoiler stuff for Sam lore, and I’m just kinda assuming stuff about how Sam’s body works, reader is a little feisty haha, Sam is a violent killing machine, blood

-Sam x mechanic!reader-

He’s very well-engineered of course, he was MADE to fight, it’s what he knows, it’s what he does.

However, regardless of how well-built he is…this robot gets into fights ALL the time, and sometimes his enemies fight back, unsurprisingly.

Granted that doesn’t Usually mean anything, but every once in a while he fights something that can ACTUALLY fight back…enter you, the resident Stellaron Hunter’s personal mechanic.

It’s ANNOYING you SWEAR you JUST fixed him and here he comes limping back again-

sigh…

And on the rare occasions when he actually loses the fight and one of the other Stellaron Hunters brings him home in a box? Even worse…C’MON Sam pull it together…

But of course you’re going to fix him. At the end of the day you love your murderous, psychopathic, genetically engineered warrior-

You pulled an all-nighter because of COURSE he’d get himself broken beyond recognition when he has an early morning mission the next day-

As much as you complain to the other Stellaron Hunters about Sam’s reckless habits All of them know you’re not gonna leave.

Blade doesn’t care at all so he stays out of it, but Kafka and Silver Wolf put you on the spot with the whole, “oh if you hate him so much why don’t you leave?” WELL OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE-!! UM!! SHUT UP WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!

Assuming he’s not broken into a million pieces, he is Ridiculously difficult to fix up.

He’s impatient. He doesn’t want to hold still. And he IS an enormous machine so…if he doesn’t want to sit still it’s HARD to get him to sit still.

You’re chasing after him while he paces around your workshop, trying frantically to make repairs while he moves around and your pleas for him to just STOP for a moment fall on deaf ears-

Regardless of how mad you get at him you do admittedly have a REALLY big soft spot for your robot-

Only you’re allowed to get mad at him or say anything bad about him. You get genuinely upset when anyone else says anything negative about him, haha…

Despite the fact that he acts like such a jerk to you, the two of you have a very strong relationship. You’re Very in-tune with each other. Definitely on the level where you can understand what the other is thinking without them needing to say anything.

You’re always tinkering with and improving his weapons’ systems. He’s an ultimate weapon and you treat him as such. Though like I said before he does not like to sit still so when he’s tired of your fiddling he’ll just…heat himself up until he’s too hot to touch. You give him a little smack with your wrench in protest but if he’s gonna be sassy with you there’s not much you can do.

You really have old married couple energy with the way you always fight with each other but would literally do anything for the other-

Eventually you guys just. Are married. Kafka one day sees the ring on your finger and she KNOWS and she cannot BELIEVE you didn’t tell her you and Sam got married-but tbh you don’t even remember when that happened, haha…crazy how you could’ve forgotten considering the EFFORT you went through to get Sam an indestructible ring, and then having to weld it on.

You know he’s a very capable warrior. But you still worry about him. However he has no interest in you teaching him how to repair himself.

You can’t imagine why he’s so stubborn over something like that but little do you know it’s because he wants a reason to convince you to stay around.

Oh you’re the ONLY one who can do his repairs so you can’t leave, right?

You think it’s a little childish of him because Obviously you don’t have any intent of leaving but…fine. You won’t force him to cooperate with you. You’ve never been able to make him do anything he didn’t want to do before anyways.

You tend to get left behind on missions because frankly they’d be in a lot of trouble if you got too hurt to fix up Sam…but every once in a while the Stellaron Hunters are stretched too thin and you’re sent on a mission. But that usually backfires because Sam does NOT approve of you being on your own doing something DANGEROUS like a mission. He’ll find some way to get onto your assignment, regardless of how capable you are. One moment you think you’re on a stealth mission, the next moment…Sam is there. Sam, who doesn’t know the definition of ‘stealth’. You just kinda have to sit back while Sam completely massacres everything in sight. Well. The enemies certainly can’t catch you if they’re all dead. Granted the mission is technically easier but now you have to hide all the blatant evidence that Sam was there killing everything- (also I’m just assuming you’re completely desensitized to all his violence at this point haha…)

He’s lucky you love him so much…why else would you put up with his nonsense?

Also UGH speaking of maintenance, after a mission like that where he slaughters everything-do you have ANY idea how hard it is to get all that blood off of him?? It’s HARD. You’re scrubbing him clean ALL. DAY. While also telling him he needs to LAY OFF ALL THE MURDER-or at least try to be a little less messy?? Please?? All that blood on him is Not good for him-

But despite all the problems he causes for you, he’s YOUR genetically modified warrior. You LOVE him.

And really he’d do ANYTHING for you.

You’ll keep taking care of him. And he’ll protect you in turn, regardless if you need him to or not.

But you work out well. And honestly ever since you started a relationship with Sam, his work ethic is even better than before so…the Stellaron Hunters are certainly not complaining.

Hi! I liked your posts about Sunday, you really captured the character. Do you have any thoughts about Yan!Sam? We don’t know a lot about “him” right now, but “he” looks like an interesting character.

Hello anon! It took me a while to get to this request because I had to do a bit more research on him, especially since I practically speedran the Penacony quest. Sorry.

Its short, and most likely will be OOC, since most of it is derived from very little content present in-game.

Yan!Sam is frustratingly hard to deal with, if you even know what you want to deal with.

Unlike other robotic like characters such as screwllum or whoever he is, Sam in general seems terrifying unreasonable, and absolutely goal-oriented.

Yan!Sam would be a degree worse. I imagine you can't even reason with him, because he would straight up admit that yes, you're right, it's absolutely irrational the things he's doing. And he just doesn't care. Cry, protest, and throw a tantrum, and he's nailing you down, forcing you to stop. He would absolutely drive you up the wall if you try to negotiate with him. He just doesn't work on rationale at all.

Of course, this is just mainly off of the voicelines Ive read from the character wiki, and the penacony dialogue. It seems Yan!Sam is terrifying, swift, and deals with any problem immediately. You could be outside minding your own business, and before you know it - the crowd is thrown into chaos, loud noises erupt everywhere, and something from the corner of your eye just grabs you and exits. You probably won't even realize you've just been kidnapped until Yan!Sam takes you to a specific captivity room and has to spell it out for you through what is the tone equivalent of gritted teeth, that yes, he's in love with you (as much as.. a robot? Can be,) and yes, he's just kidnapped you. If you make even a noise about returning to your family, he'll execute them immediately. In the end, you'll have no one to turn to but him. Even if begrudgingly so.

Ok just a quick firefly/sam theory that I think others have picked up on as well

Sam is Sampo > Sampo is a masked fool > masked fools can transform into others to a varying degree (as shown by Sparkle) and especially should have no trouble doing so in the dreamscape

Adds to why Sampo asked Sparkle to return his mask in her companion mission, since he'd be needing it for the events of 2.1

Sam took the form of someone to befriend (and purposely traumatize?) the trailblazer, probably cuz its part of Elio's script

but he felt bad for us and decided to reveal to us that "Firefly" is actually fine cuz she doesn't really exist

You’ve just sentenced yourself to a life of sore-booty and humiliation. Was it really worth it?

Black Swan

Stares at you.

Her expression is a little hard to read and the longer she looks at you the more you feel implored to apologize.

She’s not mad though, she’s actually rather amused. And she’s getting even more entertainment by watching you squirm.

Eventually she gives and just chuckles. If you’ll allow her, then she’ll give you a nice tap on the butt too.

Sampo

He does that one goofy (Mickey mouse) scream.

Very animated reaction. Jumps 10 feet off the ground and covers his behind. He looks back at you like a kicked puppy but you know it’s all fake.

Sniffles and says smthn like, “How could you do this to your best bud, Sampo?”

Gets you back when you least expect it. Like you actually scream bloody murder because your guard is down and you can’t hear him sneak up on you bc he’s light on his feet. It doesn’t matter if you’re in public either. Be very afraid.

Aventurine

“Woah! Getting a little frisky, eh?”

If you’ve got something separating you two like a chair or a counter, he will chase you around it to reach you. Spanks you back, harder, with zero hesitation.

He starts tapping your butt as a regular thing afterwards. Almost like a greeting.

“Hey babe.” Then a light slap. When he feels extra mischievous he’ll grab it.

Acheron

You are unable to slap her booty because she catches your hand before it makes contact.

Just kind of looks at you and goes, “What are you doing.”

You explain to her that spanking is a sort of gesture between close companions. She doesn’t quite get it but decides to just go with it.

Later on, when she greets you, she strikes her hand down on your behind so hard that your teeth clatter. She asks if she did it right with such a hopeful tone, that you can’t find it in yourself to tell her that shattering someone’s pelvis is not part of the gesture. (When she does find out that she’s hurt you she apologizes deeply and coddles you)

Dr. Ratio

Lets out a high pitched yelp.

Gives you the most scandalized look and defensively rubs his tush.

“Did you really just do what I think you did?”

Strategizes a way to get you back. He has a blackboard with physics equations for the perfect angle and fall of his hand, pinned papers and calendars with your schedule and his, etc. He’s terrible at hiding his intentions too. When the time comes for his revenge you already anticipate it. What you didn’t anticipate was how strong he was. You guess those biceps aren’t just for show.

Firefly

Why would you ever? What kind of monster are you?

She yelps and just stares at you; hands covering her behind, face flushed, and her mouth agape.

Apologize.

Sam

You have a death wish.

Another one who catches your hand before you can spank. He just puts your hand back in your lap and goes, “No.”

He actually just doesn’t want you to hurt yourself. His… butt… isn’t very soft, you see.

If you want him to, he’ll lightly tap yours back.

March 7nth

Gasps and launches herself at you with full intention of getting you back.

It turns into a chase, where you run in circles around the gazebo until she gets too tired and gives up.

You laugh about it but later forget. Little do you know, March has been scheming ever since.

“AHA!” You feel a harsh slap against your behind and yelp. The vendor you were talking to looks at you and your girlfriend as if you’ve both grown an extra head. She laughs victoriously, “See? I told you payback was coming!”

Robin

“Oh!!!” Gasps and covers herself. She’s a little freaked out at first but once she see’s it’s you she giggles.

You don’t really expect her to spank you back but she does. With the same amount of force that you used.

It kinda escalates into a competition where you two see who can land the most spanks in one day. Just don’t do it in front of her brother.

You’re losing btw.

Sunday

Do NOT spank him in public. He will be very crossed with you. Not funny did not laugh.

You may proceed with the spank if you are in private though.

He actually squeaks when you do. Then once the initial shock wears off he laughs, incredibly amused by you. Doesn’t say it but he plans on returning the favor.

When he does get you back you don’t expect it. You’re probably cooking or marking off the calendar when he passes you and goes, “Good morning, my love.” And then he slaps your butt. Moderate strength, enough to make you yelp but not enough to sting.

But okay onto the ask-

The way I’ve had TWO asks about Sam picking up and carrying around his partner I’m obsessed…

But why wouldn’t he? He’s literally superhumanly strong, he can pick you up EFFORTLESSLY, and you seem to like it when he does it so…

It’s funny, he wants to show you something and instead of just saying, “hey follow me,” he just scoops you up off the couch and carries you to whatever he’s trying to show you.

So YES what you said about him not feeling pressure is interesting-as far as I can tell he is Literally a killing machine, I’m led to believe that’s Actually what he’s made for…so it takes him a while to learn how to be gentle enough with you-

At first it’s a lot of “SAM you’re holding me WAY TOO TIGHT!! Put me down-” and not to mention he definitely runs hot with all that fire stuff…so if he’s not managing his temperature when he picks you up…ow, HOT METAL-

The amount of times Sam has accidentally hurt you is sadly pretty high…

You still remember the first time you tried to hold his hand-the robot almost broke your fingers-

Getting distracted, BACK TO THE FOCUS-

Sam carrying you around and you get to a closed door so you think Oh surely he’ll put me down so he can open the door but NOPE he just holds you with one arm so he can open the door AND keep ahold of you. Whoa-

Kafka definitely makes jokes about how you’ll forget how to walk with Sam always carrying you around, but she genuinely thinks it’s cute that big bad Sam is such a softie for you.

But yeah once he gets the hang of holding you without injuring you it’s pretty nice honestly.

Also him just being fascinated by being able to feel your body heat is SO-

He’s different from you, he really is. You are much more…delicate. You’re really alive and much softer and you actually trust him enough to let him touch you. Frankly, he’s a little obsessed.

He gets a little…protective, lowkey possessive when he’s holding you…scary for anyone else, but you have never felt safer.

You’re also most of his impulse control and he can’t be all that violent and insane while he’s got his favorite person in his arms, I mean what if he HURTS you in the process? So that’s a plus too.

Seriously, it’s magic to see how that maniac robot actually calms down when you’re involved.

You can really be like, “Sam I think you need to pick me up for a little bit before you hurt someone-” and he actually listens to you, it’s great.
