Homestuck Epilogue where on Earth C the kids do literally ANYTHING other than get into politics or become hermits… Part 1
Tumblr media
So I kinda made up my own epilogue for homestuck back when I was in college… Just a thing to kinda entertain myself while sitting through the classes that didn’t apply to my major lmao. But now I’ve been out two years and what’s an unemployed 24 year old loser supposed to do with all this free time and a newfound affection for these characters? Fuckin draw them ofc! I tried rlly hard to kinda combine elements of the mspa style into my own style, but it clearly needs some work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically the plot of my epilogue au/rewrite/whatever the fuck you call it is that for the first like 100 years of them being on Earth C, the kids wanted to figure themselves out and live their lives now that they were free from the game and in a world where nothing can really hold them back. Since a lot of them lived their early years in almost to complete isolation, they pretty much wanted to be involved in their new society. Tho since society had already p much developed since they skipped ahead 5000 years, they just let the people do their thing while they did their own things. The kids only rlly got involved if they rlly had to.
But then after about 100 years of doing things, all the kids just kinda went MIA and nobody knows what they’re up to. Sure Rose and Kanaya still manage the mother grub, Jane still runs her company, and sometimes you might see Dirk out behind an Earth C Denny’s at 3am, but for the most part everyone is kinda gone. Where? Only I know :)
Anyway I’m gonna do a part 2 with the surviving trolls and Calliope… eventually…

Time for the March Summary!
First of, the egg that haunts my dreams,
Richarlyson
Tumblr media
For the 3rd month in a row, with 13/62 polls won last month, Richas has been voted most likely to:
Eat a random nut/berry/bug he found outside
Aim for the head during dodgeball
Intentionally cough/sneeze on someone while sick
Pick up something gross and chase his siblings around with it
Play computer games in class instead of doing his school work
Play football indoors and accidentally break a family relic
Play Julius Ceasar in a recreation of the Ides of March
Love a cursed food combination
Hunt down islanders that aren't wearing green on St. Patrick's Day
Pretend to be possessed to scare a sibling/parent
Refuse to wear shoes, even in the woods
Be the Rico (Penguins of Madagascar) of the island
Be covered in band-aids all the time
I do not know how he managed to win this many without me noticing. I think he's stealing trophies from me when I'm not looking.
Dapper
Tumblr media
Wait, what? Even I wasn't expecting our favorite literal-demon child to win 2nd! With 11/62 polls won, Dapper has been voted most likely to:
Read Wikipedia articles for fun
Berate adults for coughing into their hand
Be a "Home Alone" protagonist
Love "Doctor Who"
Read Homestuck
Make a recreation of the Ides of March
Actually catch a leprechaun on Saint Patrick's Day
NOT have to sing the alphabet song to remember what order the letters are in
Love the Sherlock Holmes books
Know everything about demon folklore and scare everyone with their knowledge of it
Be determined to find every single easter egg at the island-wide easter egg hunt
She's a nerd, what else is there to say?
Chayanne & Pepito
Tumblr media
Tied for 3rd, with 6/62 polls won each! Chayanne has been voted most likely to:

Be a try-hard in P.E. class
Start a game of King Of The Hill everytime the school replaces the woodchips at recess

Only look for the difficult to find eggs so their younger siblings can have fun at the Easter egg hunt
And Pepito has been voted most likely to:
Lose every round of Hide N' Seek because Pepito can't stop giggling
Believe in the Tooth Fairy
Chase Pepito's own tail
Still not know how to swim
Actually break a leg during a school play on accident
Eat paper because Pepito thinks it tastes good
One of the oldest eggs tying with one of the youngest. It's perfect.
Sunny
Tumblr media
With 5/62 polls won, I'm sure Sunny is a little miffed that she's ended up in 4th. But it's okay, you all are sure to put her in 1st place one of these months. Sunny has been voted most likely to:
Secretly paint their closet an obnoxious color
Have a fashion show using her parents' clothes
Sleep with all of their stuffed animals so they don't get lonely
Treat the masjid shoe racks as their own personal shoe store
Have an imaginary friend
Tallulah, Ramón, & Pomme

Tying for 5th, with 4/62 polls won each, I'm very happy to see Pomme winning her first ever polls! And a total of 4 of them, no less! Tallulah has been voted most likely to:
Try and dye her own hair (making a huge mess)
Fit the main character role in "Coraline"
Perform Tarot card readings

With 2/62 polls won, Empanada has been voted most likely to:
Spend recess burying herself in woodchips and sleeping
Have Batik as a hobby
Oh hey, it's the first time Empanada's gone a full month without winning a poll about sweets!
Chunsik
Tumblr media
Finally, our youngest has won a poll! With 1/62 polls won, Chunsik has been voted most likely to:
Be exempt from a Federation experiment because he politely declines it
What a polite kid!
...
...
That's it, right? That's all the eggs. All 11 eggs, all 62 polls for the month of March
...
Why does my clipboard say I'm missing two polls.....
...
Oh! Yes!
Juanaflippa & Bobby
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In an absolutely unprecedented event, Juanaflippa AND Bobby have become our first ever dead eggs to win a canonical poll, with 1/62 win each! Juanaflippa has been voted most likely to:
Have a million allergies during the spring
And Bobby has been voted most likely to:
Get BANNED from playing Bulldog
It's still insane to me that you all managed to get these two a win. Bobby was going up against RICHARLYSON for void's sake. You all were fighting against the current on that one.
See you all soon!

One of the weakest Homestuck criticisms I see pop up every now and then is that the Hemoloyalty system is bad because “it’s not a clear-cut metaphor for any one specific real-world bigotry.” Acting as if it is a poorly made example of Sci-Fi/Fantasy Racism since it’s used to cover and express Racism, Classism, Xenophobia, Misogyny, etc.
It always makes me wonder if they’re new to fiction that contains Fantasy Racism, because Fantasy Racism systems covering multiple bigotries is entirely normal. It’s the standard, even.
You know.
Because that’s how actual real world bigotry operates?
For example… Racism does not stop at a judgment of skin color. It never just affects how your race is perceived and then stops before it dips into any other bigotry. Racism is almost never “Oh, ew, you’re brown,” with no other follow up. It’s a long series of assumptions and judgments made on your (perceived) race. Racism is deeply entangled with- you guessed it!- Classism, Xenophobia, Misogyny, all kinds of things.
Classic examples of Racism include:
Having your expressions of femininity and womanhood denied or fetishized based on your race, which happens quite regularly to Black and East Asian women in particular,
Suspicions towards Black people in middle class-rich suburban neighborhoods/gated communities, based on the assumption that “they could never legitimately afford to live there” so they “must be trespassing and/or a criminal”,
… And nutjobs screaming at people who are Latino or Arabic, or they perceive as Latino or Arabic, to “go back to their country” whether or not they were actually born there.
Are these all derived from Racism? Yes! But are they also combining forces with a different bigotry to help strengthen that racism? Yes! This is how it works! Fantasy Racism often has their fictional bigotry cast a wide net of judgments and assumptions that wind up making it all look very messy and unclear and containing multiple bigotries because that’s how it works in real life! You cannot in earnest say that a fictionalized bigotry system is bad because it “isn’t one clear cut thing” without looking like a moron. Are you sheltered? Have you only put one lone dying brain cell into this? Have you never experienced bigotry before, or thought about how it operates? I fear that you may need to do some reflecting!

The m4's God Tier if they were in a SBURB session in Homestuck!!
I actually thought about this wayyy more than I should have so here's my reasoning BCS I know too much abt this godforsaken webcomic
I’m classpecting based on values/growth not existing strong character traits
Ex/ Someone might classpect Kyle as Mage of Mind because he is typically logical, knowledgeable, and curious but going off of growth he could be a Mage of Time which would require patience, cooperation, and handling sudden change.
Stan Marsh - Knight of Space
In Homestuck, the knight class is one that provides protection through their sword, their body, and their mind. It’s centers around providing assistance and protecting the other players, from harm or even themselves. Stan knows who and what he cares about, and sticks up for it. This combined with the space aspect makes a character that protects others through physical manifestations or manipulations of space. In Homestuck, the space aspect is taken literally so he could travel through space riffs by cutting through with a sword, combat involving teleportation, etc. He’s the only kid who is physically separated from the rest of the cast due to his family, as being moved out to the farm which mirrors Jade a character homestuck removed from her friends on an island. The space character is the one that breeds the Genesis frog. This would provide Stan with some growth as it requires him to look outside of his own emotional needs, and desires to provide that for another creature. We’ve seen, he can sometimes get to preoccupied with his own emotional reactions which leads him to not put others' feelings first as we see with Kenny’s death in the hospital.
Kyle Brovloski- Mage of Time
I made Kyle a mage due to his desire to actively seek truth and insight, which is what the entire mage class is about. We’ve seen time and time again that Kyle is a character who will take meaning from the mistakes that he and others make. That combined with the time aspect would make a character who knows and utilizes the timeline of the session to further their game. This would require patience and intense cooperation, which I think is something that Kyle would benefit from, and while his role is essential for the success of the session, being the time player is a tedious role. His abilities as a god-tiered character might involve some form of time manipulation whether it is speeding up or slowing down time and intimate knowledge of future and past events of the session as they make choices. Time players are ones that learn to harness the urge to change the environment around them, and often face many hardships that shape them throughout it all.
ALSO time and space are the two players required to complete a session. This would make these two a formidable duo as Kyle can provide insight into any events or timeline altercations while stan executes those changes in the space area and provide protection and attacks from denizens and opponents. This makes sense from a narrative level as Stan and Kyle are often the two driving forces behind how things get fixed/accelerated in South Park. It’s essentially the planner and executor.
Eric Cartman- Prince of Life
The Prince of Hope fits Cartman extremely well since it is the most active (self seeking) class out of the majority of them and is the most destructive one as well. A prince is an extremely powerful player with a game that can make or break whether a session will succeed or become an offshoot. A prince uses their aspect to destroy and create chaos within a session. A prince of hope would be someone who uses hope to destroy their enemies or in the worst case their teammates. A prince of hope’s power could revolve around the manipulation of a person's innate hope and use it to his own advantage. In the end, a lot of Eric's growth would come from realizing how to use his manipulative skills to aid his friends and provide protection, although this could prove difficult as he is often self-serving throughout the show. This aspect and class fits him because he could either be the greatest obstacle to winning the game or inversely provide the greatest support to win. In the show, he acts as an oppositional force towards other characters for self-gain or provides clever insight and aid to whoever he’s trying to help or assist in any way.
Kenny McCormick- Thief of Doom
I feel like Kenny’s is the most accurate to the show. The thief class is someone who uses their class to steal their aspect for themselves. And like in the show I’m going to keep the Kenny dying and coming back concept as a glitch in the session. A thief of doom would be someone who steals doom or narrative peril from other characters for themselves. This could happen with any tasking or opportunity where he could take the fall and die for other characters over and over again. For example, if Stan was at risk of dying due to the actions of another character, he could steal the doom that surrounds Stan and direct it towards himself, therefore making him the target and allowing Stan to continue to fight or do whatever is happening in combat. Then due to the glitch, he would be revived the next day. So kind of like in the show, Kenny would be the stand-in person for others' injuries and potential downfalls. The growth would come from him realizing you cannot take on everyone’s issues, whether physical or mental, and come to realize that he and others can handle their own issues and don’t require intervention all the time, a hard lesson to learn for someone who is used to the role of sacrifice.
Anyways if you read all that ty!! and if you don't know HS hopefully it still made sense somewhat lmaooo

The thing about the classpect system, is that, it doesn't stop once you found your classpect.
Homestuck goes step by step with this.
Your Classpect is your core Character. This is how you act, with what you have and what you don't have.
( Dave is a Knight of Time. His natural reactions to people is to give (serve) them his time. Usually through long obtrusive ramblings. The dude is a talker. )
Above that, you can have a different favorite classpect to follow. This is what you aspire to be, or work towards.
( John is, at his core, an Heir of Breath, but his aspiration is to be a Bard (and in one life he succeeds--he becomes an Actor), he simply combines the two--an Heir (the wizard) and the Bard (the entertainer) is a Stage Magician. )
And above even that, you can learn how to combine additional classes and aspects.
( John's Retcon Powers. While as an Heir of Breath, he can Change the Plot--the very act of changing it via Retcon, is literally taking the pace of the story and then changing it. As he's taken the pace forcefully for his own benefit and from Caliborn, A Lord of Time who commands the story and its pace, he has Stolen Time. John's additional classpect is Thief of Time. )
We see what happens when you fail to understand yourself, thusly, your core classpect.
(The Beforus Trolls are proof of that. Only about two achieved any classpecting powers. )
And we've seen what happens when you try to take on a different classpect without your self understanding.
( Rose with the Void Aspect. Truth is, she was just using another form of the Light Aspect with the Aesthetic of Void. When she tried to dive into the void, via drinking, she simply messed herself up more. )
( Vriska with the Sylph Class. She claims to help, but look how many people are dead or hurt because of it. )
( Dave was raised to be a Prince, and it rain contrast to his Knight behavior. He doesn't like putting people down. )
But John is the first on-screen example of successfully adopting another Classpect, without the cost of yourself.
You can easily have more than One Classpect, if you want it.

new hsbc update was amazing. probably the best character study the new team has done so far. jane and jake are finally getting their motivations and positions firmly established. really, really into it.
also, confirmed a lot of my page classpect theories! especially vis a vis the relationship between a fully realized page and their "imaginary friend," so i'm pretty psyched.
gonna ramble a little below.
(as a recap, in homestuck, every page had an imaginary friend that served as an embodiment of their aspect. tavros had rufio, a representation of his desired rebellion. horuss... had his stuff. no comment there. and jake had brain-ghost-dirk, a combination of his self-esteem and dirk's ability to splinter his personality.)
(or, as jake put it:)
Tumblr media
so, now that brain-ghost-dirk is out of the picture (RIP to a real one), we can see what's left behind: jake's ability to believe in himself, and believe that he can change for the better. a force that jake fears.
pages are, famously, the slowest growing class in the game. they start out weak, but eventually get strong as hell. it looks like this might be part of it: pages, fearing their aspect, and instead pushing it onto an imaginary friend to hold onto. the imaginary friend that, naturally, tries to keep them on the right track.
a page protects their aspect by developing it over the years, even as it remains separate from their "ego," and likewise their aspect protects them in turn.
unlike most other classpect relationships, this one is clearly symbiotic: their aspect is a literal guy that needs to be created and cultivated, but in return, it protects them. (like... a summoner. hm.)
so, what does that mean when a page is "fully realized?" well, a friend and i joked about how when a page levels up, they probably don't get any real stat bonuses. it probably just goes straight to their imaginary friend (who is fake, and cannot do anything), and that's why they suck shit until end-game.
(jake, whose power is to literally believe in fake shit so hard it becomes real, is the obvious exception: he could genuinely summon brain ghost dirk.)
we then said, well, if at the end-game a page is supposed to finally obtain their full powers... it makes sense for their imaginary friend to "pass along" their aspect to the page, right? like the moment where your magical ghost guide finally says the power was inside of you all along, you just needed to find it.
they're that. and that's straight-up what we see bg-dirk do for jake. it was him all along. he was always cool, confident, observant, powerful, but he just couldn't access that part of himself. he didn't want to. the imaginary friend existed to shield that part of himself, but in turn, it also handed him back the power when the time was right.
so he can kill his wife, i guess.
(would we have gotten a scene where tavros talks to dante basco in his mind and then suddenly becomes the Twister King after finding out the power was inside of him all along? maybe. who knows.)

The 12 Classes of Doom.
“Doom is the Aspect of inevitability, destiny, fate, conformity… Doom Players are known to be good listeners, people who understand and will empathize, even if they don’t know how to fix many issues. They seem to be okay with fate, with the way things work, with both contentment and pain. Doom Player Sollux knew that he was going to die, and he accepted it, knowing nothing could be done about it. Doom can be heavily emotional”.
“Doom is a poetic Aspect, and it’s extremely interesting, although rarely depicted in the comic. A Doom Player’s struggle might be about acceptance, a doubt about how it all is supposed to work. It is realistic and skeptical, not always pessimistic instead. Doom can be stability, having an outlook on life that is healing in their own way. I have heard from a Doom Player that “the Life-Doom Aspect pair is the facet of a person that deals with healing. While Life heals through change and improvement, Doom heals through acceptance and adjustment”. This difference is sometimes described as “the vent friend” (Doom) and “the advice friend” (Life). Life is the opposite Aspect to Doom, and it is serving and helpful”.
Tumblr media
Sburb Players each have a combination of an Aspect and a Class. Aspects are understood to represent what a player’s goals and actions in life are caused by. A Class is within an Aspect and understood to represent the way they deal with their Aspect.
The Sburb Classes are Maid, Page, Mage, Knight, Rogue, Sylph, Seer, Thief, Heir, Bard, Prince, and Witch. (Lord and Muse*)
(*Classes Lord and Muse seem to only be possible in either Cherub society or in two-player sessions. They are very absolute and it’s rare for a human to identify with their descriptions. I will have to leave them out here and only write about the remaining twelve :)
Adding the Classes to the Aspect of Doom will result in twelve God Tiers. My analyses of them are as follows:
1st God Tier: Witch of Doom
Witch is the Active Class of manipulation. Witches are known to “control” their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Witch of Doom, specifically, would be one of the most repressed people in their lives, always shutting off what should be natural (though they would not be blind to it, they’re not naive about what fate is supposed to bring, they simply no not want to accept that it is true). Witches are characterized by rebellion, and Doom’s rebellion is against fate, the condemnation, sometimes even death. It is impossible to escape from your Aspect but they try their best, but does escaping from destiny not end up becoming your destiny?
Witches of Doom are the most frightened of Witches, but they’re also probably the strongest. I can see them being good liars, and pretty optimistic people, maybe trying to hide the realism or nihilism that might be building up inside them, begging to be seen. They would want to appear more as a Life Player, be helpful and free from destiny and/or suffering. It is through accepting suffering that they will become well-developed Doom Players.
2nd God Tier: Heir of Doom
Heir is the Passive Class of manipulation. Heirs are known to “influence” their Aspect or through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. An Heir of Doom, specifically, would passively manipulate fate in a way that might be shown as “coping”, maybe tricking themselves and those around them into believing the opposite of the truth, for example, that everything will be okay when in reality they know it won’t. It can also be the opposite, if they are mostly negative; they could bring people to believe that a perfectly safe and fine situation will actually end in great tragedy. They don’t do this on purpose all the time, though, and unlike Witches, they have more control of that power. It’s not only their way of dealing with fate, it is also what they are naturally inclined to do. The challenge in an Heir of Doom’s life would be not being in control of what is to come.
Heir of Doom is a canon Homestuck God Tier. Mituna Captor is the character that holds that title.
3rd God Tier: Mage of Doom
Mage is the Active Class of knowledge. Mages are known to “understand” their Aspect or through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Mage of Doom, specifically, would be aware of everyone’s fates and their own as well. I guess in a non-fantasy world that would be through “connecting the dots” and great observation skills. Mages are the most aware of where they are and of what their Aspect means, so Mages of Doom would be completely accepting of, you know, acceptance itself. In subtle cases they might be realistic people who don’t try to defeat their doom, and in extreme cases they might be people who are completely in peace with the fact that they are going to die. It will depend from Player to Player, but Doom will usually have a connection with suffering. Mages of Doom would be understanding of everyone’s suffering, maybe the perfect empaths. Their mind would never be focused on fixing the inevitable, they only accept it as it is; because if it’s meant to go this way, it’s for a good reason. They don’t go against fate.
I like to believe a Mage of Doom would read this and go “yeah. Guess I’m a Mage of Doom then”.
Mage of Doom is a canon Homestuck God Tier. Sollux Captor is the character that holds that title.
4th God Tier: Seer of Doom
Seer is the Passive Class of knowledge. Seers are known to “study” their Aspect or through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Seer of Doom, specifically, would analyse fates and what they might be, what might be hidden behind them, what the reasons for them might be… They are analysts, like every Seer, but of what wouldn’t really appeal to others; of death, suffering, drama, the inevitability of many aspects of life. Seers of Doom would be really interesting people with many interesting hobbies. I can see them, like some of the Time Players, enjoying collecting bones, or rocks that not everyone would notice on the beach. They are probably drawn to endings, and I mean this in the most innocent way. I can connect Doom and Time pretty often, because both overlap when talking about finality; Time for the rush reason and Doom for the fate reason. Does that make sense? Seers of Doom might be really good at understanding how something is going to end, studying situations to figure out motives. What differs them the most from Mages is that they would watch from afar and not feel as intimate with destiny as Mages would.
I don’t know why, but “Mary On A Cross” by Ghost gives me Seer of Doom vibes.
5th God Tier: Thief of Doom
Thief is the Active Class of stealing. Thieves are known to “take” from their Aspect and through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Thief of Doom, specifically, would take advantage of their own ideas of destiny to try to benefit other areas of their life. I see the stealing classes as the most unrelated classes to their Aspects, it is harder for me to figure out who is a Thief or a Rogue, but I can tell that most Thieves are tempted to steal “for themselves”. This has never meant they are self-focused or self-fulfilling, it just means they are less naturally inclined to sacrifice themselves in the name of others. Thieves are usually very comfortable in their Aspects, not ever doubting it, and instead taking every chance they have to perfect it. In a concrete way, a Thief of Doom would, for example, use other’s pessimistic moments to lecture them about it, showing off their certainty in whatever destiny they believe is coming to them. Being comfortable in their Aspect, they would not be affected by suffering as much, they would feel at ease with pessimism. They are confident that if it is the right thing, it’s going to benefit them one day.
6th God Tier: Rogue of Doom
Rogue is the Passive Class of stealing. Rogues are known to “redistribute” their Aspect or through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Rogue of Doom, specifically, would be either defined by sweetness or by incapability. Let me explain, Rogue is a Class that is described to be giving, and with this particular Aspect, it could mean sweet but also dangerous things. A Rogue of Doom might be a great listener, giving away their time to empathize with people or make them feel heard at least, but they might also have extreme sides, like (taking the Aspect more literally) leaving their fate in others’ hands or even being killed by them, due to their own incapability to center their Aspects on themselves. But this being said, every God Tier has macabre interpretations that are not great to think about, but this one stood out to me. Being a Rogue of Doom doesn’t guarantee that a person will leave their destiny up to others, but it facilitates it.
7th God Tier: Knight of Doom
Knight is the Active Class of utilizing. Knights are known to “handle” their Aspect and through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Knight of Doom, specifically, would be the biggest stereotype of Doom, pessimistic and used to suffering and being in the middle of the action. “The action”, in the Doom Aspect, can mean death of relatives, for example, and a Knight of Doom might be used to dealing with that. (This characteristic is also present in Knights of Time!) Otherwise, it can mean constantly having to handle and/or explain inevitability to others. Knights might not be the biggest fans of their Aspect, but they will accept it and not even complain that much. This is an interesting fact in Doom too, would they accept… acceptance?
The song “As the World Caves In” reminds me of this God Tier.
8th God Tier: Page of Doom
Page is the Passive Class of utilizing. Pages are known to “rise” their Aspect or through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Page of Doom, specifically, would carefully and sometimes accidentally deal with the sensitive topics of suffering, death, finality of all things. It will all naturally come to them, in a way they really have no control or awareness over, and they will accept and accept and just handle everything because that’s the only thing they can do. Differently from Knights, they might feel like they’re useless in relation to the inevitability of change. Their main challenge will be learning how they are balanced in whatever chaos of destiny is happening around them. Pages have the potential of being the strongest Class when they learn the patterns of how they deal and how they should deal with their Aspect. I can see a Page of Doom just feel like they are following and not adding anything to the world, because things always happen without their input so how are they affecting anything? (If there’s any Page of Doom reading this, it’s not true; we are all affecting the world.)
9th God Tier: Maid of Doom
Maid is the Active Class of construction. Maids are known to “create” their Aspect or through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Maid of Doom, specifically, would create their own fates! Maids are MADE of their Aspect, Maids of Doom are made of destiny and the ideas of suffering and comformity! Though it is the Active Class of construction, it is also a Class that serves, so it is also important to note that Maids of Doom would do anything to benefit destiny, whatever it might be. They are not the class that knows, they are the class that is.
I find Maids of Doom interesting, because how do you create something that to most others, just comes along on its own? Well, Maids have their technique of building, they will do what it takes until they feel like they are doing their job in a satisfying way. A Maid of Doom might be obsessed with living a perfectly spontaneous life, if that makes sense. They are attending to fate and building themselves from it!
10th God Tier: Sylph of Doom
Sylph is the Passive Class of construction. Sylphs are known to “build” their Aspect or through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Sylph of Doom, specifically, would passively work with fate in order to make it easier to deal with, and then build upon it. I can see them as controlling and bossy about the Aspect. To use a random example, I can see them getting angry at someone who gives them advice, because that is not how Doom works. It’s inevitable and unchangeable, and it is the right thing to follow. I always see Sylphs as possessive of their Aspects, like they are the only ones who can take care of it, even if abstractedly. A Sylph of Doom would make their own interpretations of what their doom should be (maybe even macabrely, how their end should be) and will live their lives with those opinions very close to them at night.
11th God Tier: Prince of Doom
Prince is the Active Class of destruction. Princes are known to “wreck” their Aspect and through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Prince of Doom, specifically, would seem pretty edgy. They’d want to be as positive as Life Players, but would fail miserably and fall back into their inevitable pessimism about inevitability. Unhealthy Princes try to escape from their Aspect, and everyone starts unhealthy. They would be constantly worried and angry at their own destiny, and would be awfully aware of it (Mage is the Class of knowledge, but Prince is the one of awareness!) despite their attempts. Destruction can be literal, in this case it might be breaking objects related to fate, like breaking the weapon that is trying to kill you, “biting the hand that feeds you”.
I like to use the song Call Me What You Like by Lovejoy for this God Tier. Especially “I’m not paranoid, I’m a realist; I know you’re gonna kill me”. I also like to say that, while fate is the correct and natural thing to most Classes, to Princes of Doom, it is the wrongest path of all.
12th God Tier: Bard of Doom
Bard is the Passive Class of destruction. Bards are known to “deconstruct” their Aspect or through their Aspect, both literally and figuratively. A Bard of Doom, specifically, would not purposefully ruin fate’s plans, but would definitely cause that ruin. Think of the term “back to black”, and the inevitability of going back to old patterns and to what happens spontaneously. Bards have a hard time accepting their Aspects, and can go through weird and unbelievable phases with it. This particular Bard could have a complicated relationship with the fact that everything ends, and other times that some things are infinite, they might at one time be okay with death and at another lose their minds about it. Regarding fate, they don’t know they’re against it, but everything they do works in favor to annulate it. Like Princes, they might prefer the idea of belonging to the opposite Aspect (Life), being more positive and less complicated and ever-changing.

id like to weigh in on those two asks re: (vriska) and meenah and vriska's arc
1. i dont think hussie know how old any of his characters are
2. (vriska) developing into someone who is nice and chill and is not driven to always be the most important wasnt "becoming a good character" it was "finishing a character arc and then becoming less prominent in the story because that's what happens when you finish a character arc"
3. vriska coming back saying "lol pussy" and being herself and being Important To The Ending is, in fact, an important part of her character arc as the thief of light. vriska was told ok your time in the spotlight is over, your story is done and now you can become a kinder more balanced person offscreen bc you are no longer being used by the narrative to further its own goals and vriska said lol you THOUGHT and stole that spotlight right back to be important. the fact that vriska is so important is a direct result of her being the thief of life and that dictating her story
4. some clarity regarding the thief of lufe stuff for u: hs has a symbol system of aspects and classes which when combined refer to a particular direction a character's story arc can take. aspects are a collection of ideas symbols and metaphors, while class dictates how you relate to them. vriska's aspect of light is the aspect of fortune and knowledge but also quite literally the narrative spotlight. (someone did a statistical analysis and light players have more words of dialogue than any other aspect by a good fuckin bit.) thieves, then, steal their aspect for themselves; this is their character struggle and character arc. vriska's whole thing is needing to be the most important and relevant, and she does. now you may be thinking, that dossnt seem very healthy! and youre right! but classpects arent about reaching your best self. they are about being who you need to be so the story can come to completion. a person whose character arc is refusing to change or becoming worse is not a poorly written character; they are just a character whose story is about that. if the bad guy becomes a good person offscreen after the movie is over, thats not a character arc. thats you imagining something that might happen after the events of the deliberately constructed story you watched that was written that way for a reason
anyway. the biggest problem with vriscourse is that no one in it understands media analysis god bless. to be fair hussie ecourages this behavior. but despite the yellow guy in the neverending story attic*, homestuck was written by a person who did it on purpose, and none of it is real
*hussie (homestuck character and in-universe writer of homestuck, as distinct from andrew hussie real human author of homestuck) first shows up in the comic in an attic from the neverending story. hes yellow

@scamlikelys post reminded me to dust off my own classpecting doc that I hadn’t touched in a while and now it’s finally finished!!
I included Castes, Classes, Aspects, Moons, and Extended Zodiacs (the last one just being a combination of Caste + Aspect + Moon). I also included explanations of what each of the assignments mean, all sources to descriptions linked as well. That way even non-Homestuck fans can understand what any of this means.
Huge shoutout to Mack for helping me narrow down on a bunch of these; I was so indecisive.

This is a weird one, but how overpowered can a Page of Time be, and how fucked up is a person with Trickster Mode + God Tier'd?
Power speculation for the Page of Time:
It is my opinion that all classpects possess the same amount of potential and/or "power level". This is because all god tiers represent someone's best self. That being said, the level of ability they possess at different times in their lives can differ. Where classpects are equal is in the overall power they have throughout their lives. Also, classes like the Lord can appear to have a higher level of strength, but it will come with greater drawbacks. For example, Caliborn's drawbacks were that he was a shallow and unintelligent person who lacked meaningful connections with others.
Let's go back to the concept that god tiers possess different levels of ability at different times in their lives. Pages are unique in that they go through most of their lives unrealized in their potential and lacking in agency. However, much like the character of King Arthur, when they finally come into their own they are powerful beyond a doubt. A realized Page could potentially be as capable as the Lord class.
This means that an older, realized Page of Time could possess as much power as a Lord of Time. Where a Page differs is that they utilize their aspect; a Lord masters their aspect by being a combination of each active class. So a realized Page of Time would be able to expertly utilize endings and destruction for the sake of others or through others. This classpect could be a weapon of massive destruction when pointed at their enemies, or an inspiring commander of armies for their allies.
Specific Powers by bardkind:
"The Page will always be in the alpha timeline. If they move from one timeline to another, the new timeline they are in will become the alpha timeline. This only applies to the Page from the Alpha timeline. Any timeline with a Page in it that is not from the Alpha timeline will not be able to become Doomed. Pages also heal timelines with their mere presence. For example, if a Lord of time was destroying parts of time, the presence of a Page would stop it, if not rewind the damage."

Trickster mode and God Tiers:
Every character, whether in Homestuck or not, goes on a personal journey from unrealized, to struggle, to realized. Another way to look at this journey is undeveloped, crisis, character development. God tiers symbolize this journey; completing their planet quests and working to become what their god tier symbolizes will help a character "develop" faster.
Dying on a quest bed and ascending to a god tier, with new powers and an outfit, is another matter entirely. Sburb is set up so that if you follow your planet quest the way it is designed, you should reach character development by the time you die on your quest bed and ascend to god tier status. That isn't always the case, however. Dying on a quest bed and achieving your powers does not fundamentally change you as a person. If an undeveloped character skips their quests and dies on their quest bed, they will still be undeveloped when they ascend. Unfortunately, this means they will be much less prepared to wield the powers they've been granted.
Trickster mode unleashes a character's hidden thoughts and feelings, allowing them to be truly free in who they are. It also comes at the expense of reason. Becoming trickstered is the same as getting shitfaced drunk; it's fun! You won't be a stable, rational person while you're under the influence though.
Because of this, I would say a god tiered character in trickster mode is much the same as a god tiered undeveloped character. It would work about as well as giving a baby a loaded gun. Prepare for Witches of Hope forcing people into laughing fits and Rogues of Space teleporting your friends to the moon. It's a great party! Best be prepared for the aftermath.
Hope this helps!

Do you have any thoughts on what's up with hussie obsession with combining established characters in the latter half of the comic? Davepeta, Jasprose, Lord English, all the rest of the alpha kid sprites? If that goes towards a discussion of Ultimate Selves, why is the most complete version of yourself someone who isnt even solely you anymore? Love your analysis!
Hello, welcome! Here's a couple approaches:
Sprites, like other alt-selves, can serve the elaboration of self-loathing: Characters want to be happy and are very scared that they are incapable of being happy. Seeing a version of themselves that achieved happiness by integrating another person can be a nightmare, seemingly confirming that misery is a defining feature of their existence. AR mocks Dirk in these terms, leveraging both his alleged supercomputer brain and his integration of Equius to make Dirk feel inferior, intrinsically lacking. Though in Vriska's case, the lack of modification on (Vriska) was also infuriating: their sameness meant that Vriska was not, as she likes to claim, the way she is entirely out of necessity. Alternate selves have a way of making people question themselves, mingled or no.
Sprites provoke an audience response: fans get angry when characters are diluted, be that through prototyping sprites or through "mischaracterization", flanderization, or other unpopular modes of personality change. Rose might call this protecting the brand. So you could allege, as the guys on HMTW occasionally do, that this gesture of defying brand integrity is calculated to raise reader engagement by corrupting a quality of the narrative that readers are invested in. It's a method of trolling.
It's a race-mixing joke: The word "miscegenation" (which replaced the earlier “amalgamation”) was originally coined in an ostensibly abolitionist pamphlet by pro-slavery agents. Their goal was to weaken the Lincoln election campaign by provoking a fear that gene-mixing was the explicit goal of the abolitionists, claiming in the pamphlet that race-mixing created a superior class of being. Insofar as Homestuck is a parody of racist rhetoric, the claim that the Ultimate Self (and the Ultimate Frog) is the product of the endless recombination of divergent selves seems downstream of this sort of sexualized racial fear-mongering -- Rose's ascension (ie her dilution) in the Epilogues plays into this by casting Kanaya as the impotent white cuck against Dirk's black stud: "Hes Going To Take Good Care Of Rose; Probably Much Better Than Id Ever Be Able To" is euphemism for sexual potency. (Cuck jokes have followed Kanaya since her early chatlogs: recall the phrase "Watching Oblong Meat Products Tumble Into Places They Dont Belong") Saturating the narrative with distraught reactions to more abstracted amalgamation serves the story's racial subtext
This isn't by any means exhaustive -- abstract fears of mixing and merging can also be applied to coitus, pregnancy, the blurring of masculine and feminine, etc. The narrative achieves its density and sense of abstraction by applying itself to multiple motifs at once, I tend to think. The different approaches can euphemize one another

so i guess i have a mother series homestuck au now !! not sure how much ill end up posting and how much will be stuck in google docs purgatory but we'll see!! take these doodles for now :)
(rambling + Slight alternate design under the cut)
Tumblr media
(i didnt know if i wanted them to be mirror twins or not so here's this alt)
these are kiiiinda placeholder outfits until they can alchemize their own stuff, i just wanted them to match at least a little bit at first because. twins. i don't think they're twins in the sense that barzum and baizli are (where they're "one mind, two bodies" or however they put it) though i like to think they can maybe communicate telepathically?
no idea what their signs would be yet but i have been sloooowly chipping away at classpecting Everyone. trying to have no dupe classes/aspects is HARD (and also i'm just not the best at classpecting i think) (i've gotten like. 3/12 figured out for sure and that's after thinking about it for a few days)
thank goodness i'm only making the mother 3 group trolls, i wouldn't wanna figure out typing quirks for all of them sdkfhskfhsk
uhhh what else can i talk about hmm. i've got a vague idea of the plot for the mother 1 + earthbound groups but i'm having kinda a rough one figuring out how it connects to the world of mother 3. the porky situation is..... complicated in this au. i think i need to have a better grasp of his character and motives before i can continue brainstorming, which is frustrating but ehh its whatever
that was a longer ramble than i thought i was gonna do!! have a cookie if you made it this far o/🍪!! also, i know i already made a post about it but WOW do the twins look cursed with black hair. combined with the fact i already draw claus pretty off model its hard to see them as the characters they are skdfhsdkfhjfh oh well
