2023 Character Wrapped

From what I've gathered, the rules are just list your top 9 characters from the year? Right? I will put most of these under a cut to save the timeline.
#1. Paul Strickland
If anyone is surprised by my number one, you must be new here. I am the self declared number one paul stan and he IS the moment. he IS the year. and he IS the number 1 in my heart. I can't wait to bless everyone in the tag with more Paul sets during our collective rewatch in january.
#2. Henry from RWRB
Listen, I've left out the surnames cause who can keep track? especially since the book and movie have different ones lol. but I liked the book when I read it ages ago. I thought the film was a fun book to movie adaptation. and Nicholas Galitzine was the perfect Henry.
#3. The various tea dragons from the Tea Dragon Society series by K. O'Neill.
I read the 2nd book in this series this year: The Tea Dragon Festival. This series is just so lovely and cozy. It has dragons that grow tea and they're fucking adorable. LOOK AT THEM! (pictures are from this post in which K. O'Neill pairs each zodiac sign with a dragon!)
#4. Chidi Anagonye
2023 was the year I finally finished The Good Place. and Chidi... oh Chidi. I want to bundle him up and keep him and his anxiety safe in my pocket. but I also want to sit down and have a book club with him. and talk about how much better almond milk is. I bawled like a baby watching the finale episode.
#5. Mickey Milkovich
2023 was also the year I did a rewatch of Mickey's storyline from Shameless from the beginning and then got caught up on the seasons I never watched. The character growth in Mickey was so wonderful to revisit and Noel Fisher was one of the best things to happen to that show, fight me on it.
#6. Josie from Bottoms
If you haven't seen Bottoms yet... what are you doing with your life? it's a queer classic and it just came out. I don't make the rules its just true. and Ayo was fucking brilliant as Josie.
#7. TK Strand
TK will probably forever be somewhere on this kinda list. he's my fave little blorbo or whatever weird internet term we're using these days. 2023 wasn't my fave year for TK or Tarlos plots, that's for sure... but he was still his adorable, brave, strong self throughout it all.
#8. Anakin Skywalker
The return of my teen obsession: Hayden Christensen, everyone. He was great as Vader in the Obi-Wan show but this year coming back as Anakin... be still my heart. The flashback episode was some of my favorite star wars stuff in ages and wooo boy I loved getting to see live action clone wars Anakin.
#9. Garlic from the Garlic & the Vampire and Garlic & the Witch by Bree Paulson
I mean… look at her! a cute little anthropomorphic clove of garlic with anxiety. What’s not to love about her?
Some honorable mentions:
Judd Ryder. But specifically Judd Ryder holding this tiny espresso:

Titans 4x08
SPOILERS AHEAD
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!
Titans 4x08
I never paid much attention to the names of episodes until this season, especially this episode. There is so much Dickkory goodness to break down and I am soooooo excited to do it.
First off, the interaction in the first scene had me rolling on the floor. I just love how Dick and Kori are unintentionally funny and their reactions to the matching pjs and sharing a bed was perfection.
“What the Fuck”
“We didn’t…”
I just wanted to know if it was Mother Mayhem or “The gatekeeper's” idea to give them this type of lifestyle. Did they both just take a big look at Dick and Kori and got Barbie and Ken vibes? If so, I am on board. The matching Mercedes was the cherry on top.
But I do think Kori was asking the right questions, who changed their clothes? Who touched them? This is such an unsettling violating situation and I think the writers did right by mentioning something about it.
Moving on,
Raven’s interaction with Sebastian (am I the only one that struggles with spelling his name?)
I didn’t mention much about Raven in my 4x07 post. It was mostly because I didn’t think it was worth mentioning since she did play a big part in helping Dick in this episode. She was taken by 2 towns people who are not influenced by the music, I’m a little confused that one of them is deaf and the other intentionally deafened themselves, but neither of them knew sign language? The daughter mentioned how she loss her hearing at a young age, surely long before their town was under the curse? I’m not sure, but it definitely bothered me.
Anyways,
After Raven is captured by the towns people after the weird mass they had…(There is too much to unpack there, bear with me) the interaction she had with Sebastian really bothered me.
I just don’t understand why he doesn’t see Raven is his sister and has his best interests at heart? Before he became Brother Blood, he willingly went with Mother Mayhem to protect his new friends, but I have this feeling that man isn’t gone just yet. His anger towards Raven is misplaced and mostly steamed in fear but I wish he could listen to that little voice and break through the fog.
When Raven tries to warn him that if he tries to kill her he will get hurt too, he does’t believe her. Not once has any of the Titans (besides Connor-but he’s in his Anti-hero era, so I’ll let it slide) purposely put Sebastian in harms way.
“You can’t do that”
I never understood how people can’t head the warning. The pure shock on Sebastians face when he realizes he can’t hurt her is golden. Especially when Raven starts to go off about Mother Mayhem using him. Joseph uses his Klaus angry face and phew 😮💨 I missed that angry vampire man so much.
Going back,
I forgot to point out that we are 4/4 of Dick owning/driving the douchiest cars. My favorite running theme through this entire show. Whoever thought of this, bless you.
On ward to the typical Batman Bullshit
“This is peak daddy bullshit”
The way I jumped out of my bed and threw a fist in the air should be illegal. The main reason I love Dick and Kori so much is because they call each other out on their shit (Kori to Dick more often). In theory, yes, Dick’s idea is a working idea, but the thought that pain has to be the key to bring them back is devastating. Why no happy memories? or love? 😉
“It matches your outfit”
Kori always has to stick it to Dick and I am forever going to miss these moments.
The entire montage of them discussing their depressingly sad memories was awful, and seeing Dick’s flashbacks to season 1 is not what I expected to see. I was balling at how far Dick has grown as a person.
But when he comes back to see Kori, and sees her change into Carol and “looses” her, I felt his heartbreak. When he realized his plan did not work, the amount of regret this man must have felt was tenfold, especially when we hear what his painful memories are…
The intimacy that happen in this scene is perfection. A lot of people want to see Kori and Dick kiss and have sex. I’m here for the soft touches and longing stares and confessions. Sure, they deserve to have a fantastic sexcapade, but this scene, between “Carol” and Dick, “I would never leave you” is a promise. Dick is done with the bullshit, he needs to take control of his life again and do the right thing.
The Church
Dick’s fight scene is the church is definitely in my top 5 fight scenes for Dick. He straight up picked up a man and tossed him across the room, I’m still fanning myself.
The Car Ride
I love when Raven is witness to her parents’ interactions that bypass what a “friend” is.
I’m skipping over the whole radio booth scene, yay Tim and Bernard got their shit together, and yay Dick destroyed the whole thing…Which I’m still confused by the weird dude who was hooked up to the thing to begin with…
Anyways…
KORI PICKS UP DICK’S RADIO AND IT BRINGS HER BACK. HIS REPRESSED FEELINGS ARE WHAT BROKE HER FROM HER TRANCE I-
I AM STILL UNWELL
LIKE VERY UNWELL PEOPLE!!!
Just hearing the regret in Dick’s voice and how much thought he put into his words was breathtaking.

SEASON 1 RECALL AGAIN
The way Dick looked at her after she said it wasn’t the bad memories that brought her back, he knows. His love brought her back and I hope he takes a very long time thinking that over before his next move.

Tim Drake-again, my favorite person.
I’m super excited to see what 4x09 will bring us!

Season 5 wrap up. Season 5 and 4 comparison
As you all probably know by now I like s5 more than s4, for pretty obvious reasons if you've read my s4 thoughts
Things season 5 did better than season 4:
Sirenix and Harmonix make more logical sense than Believix. Forms from outside sources have not been done before and having be given by a higher power makes more sense than suddenly forms can be influenced by how much people on a particular planet believe in magic. It makes even more sense once you remember that Earth is in the Magical fucking Dimension and that Earth not having magic is a fluke
No seriously who the fuck discovered Believix in the magical dimension and HOW?
Lack of love and pet and other stupid jobs
The romance drama was less stupid. Like yes it's VERY stupid and I hate it, but Stella being mad because she thought Brandon was insulting her fashion design makes marginally more sense than what ever the fuck was going on with Mitzi. It's like that for all of them except Skloom, like it's marginally less stupid and brain numbing
Musa is snarky again!!!! God bless!!!! And Riven is acting like a natural continuation of his s2 self, extreme stupidity and inability to read social ques and all!! My babies are back!
Completely irrelevant plot central characters did not happen. At least fucking Krystal tried to heal Sky, that more that I can say about Andy's bitch ass
Does Roy count? I can remember like three scenes he was in, he is a minor character
Tritannus has an actual personality and with some minor tweaks could be genuinely compelling, I cannot say the same for the Wizards of no personality
No secondary antagonists that are objectively better than the main ones and make me want to tear my hair out because I want to see more of them, but it does forget that Diana exists during the lilo so there's that
The civilian outfits were better. There still bad but there not s4's civilian outfits sooo
The Selkies are plot relevant unlike some pets I can't be bothered to remember
The tone of the season was FAR more consistent. Like s4 fucking was so childish than nose dived into Nabu's death, but everything in s5 didn't feel like tonal whiplash
Less transformations. Two is still annoying but it's BETTER THAN FUCKING THREE
At least they had to fucking earn the extra transformations and there's no hand out faries
All the girls got something to do in s5, they all at least got one plotline or big moment. Name either of those things for s4 Flora. You can't because they don't exist
Is not still on fucking earth. Yes very earth centered but we get to see a bunch of fun new locations
The girls and specialists do not act like units with hiveminds
Season 5 actually expanded on how magic on earth would look and that's neat
Tritannus's powers are stupid but at least there explained
The relationship between Tritannus and Icy is more believable than anything between the Wizards of the Black circle, I'm so sorry
Actually let's the next form come without shitting on the previous one
Things season 4 did better than season 5:

At least s4 had the decency to say Nabu was just sleeping
No fairy on fairy violence :'((, those girlies in the rainbow mantel ep didn't even get to transform
The earth faries were majorly compelling and have a really interesting motivation, none of the s5 villains are like that
Icy has less stage presence than the FUCKING WIZARDS OF THE BLACK CIRCLE THIS IS FUCKING CRIME
Oh dear god why is Diaspro here why is the continuity in FLAMES
Convergence can do anything, part 2, but worst this time
Letting magical women be queens, Nereus < Tressa
The pendant thing is objectively stupider Sky's Andy drama in s4, it's less stupid than Rivusa nonsense in s4 tho
Diaspro was fucking ridiculous tho
I fully believe that s4 would give mutant main characters different character models
Why does s5 have so many filler episodes. The lilo AND a magic Christmas are you kidding me??
Flora's "no don't hurt it!" Thing has gotten so much worse
They literally made Stella a child I'm so furious
There are more completely meaningless side plots
Things they both fucked up on:

Instagram Repost: July 19, 2022
I had enough energy to do my makeup for the first time in forever yesterday. Not just that, but to actually sit down & pick my clothes with intention + desire instead of throwing on the first thing I could find (which still looks "good enough" when your skin's now so sensitive your clothing stash's dwindled to only enough to make ~10 outfits for an entire 365 days across 4 seasons. But it definitely isn't the same experience); I legitimately can't remember the last time I had the energy.
I'm truly blessed to've found a GP that's not only willing to listen to my feedback on my own body and experiences with few questions (where actually relevant + necessary)- and works with me on Alternative Therapies without judgement (who even gets excited to share things I discover or teach her) ... But who especially understands just how absolutely weird my body is, and is willing to take steps most Doctors won't because "I don't meet the criteria yet" (only being subclinical, yet still showing significant symptoms); after fighting just to get a Bipolar II diagnosis and constantly getting brushed off as BP-NOS at best because "I was too good at controlling my symptoms" (after decades of living unmedicated), that kind of support means so much. And I literally can't understate what a huge difference just less than a week has made on my life now, with this new Thyroid medication.
I was horribly unhappy to learn another thing had broken down in my already screwed up body and add yet another med to my routine. But the change it's made is a level of insanity I could've never anticipated. It's well worth it- even if I now have to go back to wrestling with the gender issue all over again, ha! I'm actually starting to feel like I almost have my life back finally.
Unfortunately I'm still an incredibly awkward cucumber who has zero idea how to actually take photos as an adult. And now that I'm F I N A L L Y back to my pre-CAG crash weight a whopping 6 years later, recovery may not "look good" to a fucked up headspace all the time ... But it sure is great 🎉

It’s a set of two from Blaine’s wardrobe in Season 4 Episode 15, “Girls (and Boys) On Film,” from the scene where Blaine gets grumpy with Mr Schue because he did his lil’ cop-out and told them they’re all winners. (”You always do that!” ૮ •ิ ﻌ •ั ˵ა)
The sweater is the “Navy Waffle Knit Long-Sleeve V-Neck Sweater with Red & White Stripe,” from Fred Perry. (You can also find Fashion of Glee’s post here, albeit it’s in kid’s size!)
And the shirt is the “Gray Long-Sleeve Button-Down Shirt,” from Ben Sherman.
They also came included with their copy of certificate of authenticity for Lot 341 (the collection they’re from) from Profile in History (I wasn’t sure if it’s safe to post the whole certificate here, so please feel free to message me for the photo of the whole certificate! ˵ ´ ˘ ` ˵). ♡

(Lana's POV)
Windenburg is such a wonderful city! I travelled with Parker and his sisters to visit their sisters Amira and Zoe who both live there. Since his siblings are all scattered everywhere, I haven't met all of his siblings due to schedules not aligning. I'm set to meet them all at Harvestfest, but it's nice to meet some more before the big day. We also came into Windenburg to meet some of Parker's cousins. His cousin Brittany married Colton Dahlmann of the Dahlmann political dynasty, recently he's been campaigning as the conservative candidate for District 4, which covers quite a lot of Winenburg. After campaigning across the region, Colton was voted in! In celebration, the Dahlmanns are hosting a fundraising gala for all a company that has set up crisis pregnancy centres around Windenburg. They've invited all of us to go, so we decided to make it a trip and see some family before the big event.
I had met Amira in Newcrest at Ashton's graduation party, but I had never met Zoe before. Her husband serves in the armed forces and so they were relocated to Windenburg from Oasis Springs, so there was a time that they were in the same area as me and my family! She's such a great musician and writes such great worship music, she collaborates with their aunt Claire Paulson (who is also a great musician with years and years of amazing work) on different projects, including them teaching at different music camps. Her husband Francisco was busy at work so I didn't get to meet him at first, but he'll be at the gala so I should meet him there.
Both Amira and Zoe had their baby girls close together, and all the kids are just so precious! Parker's family has something like 27 grandkids with 3 more on the way, what a blessing! I'm so thankful that Parker and his family value life and endeavoured and continue to raise kids that have a heart for children and don't see them as a burden. Little Maya and Cassie absolutely stole my heart, with little JJ being my buddy when we went to lunch that day. The more relatives I meet, the more I can't wait for Harvestfest when I'll meet them all!
(AN: Brittany was thoughtful to choose to wear a skirt when seeing her cousin and his chronically online fundie girlfriend, this was definitely an outfit picked with social media in mind.)
It was so great also getting to meet Parker's cousin Brittany and her husband Colton. They've done such great work at bettering their community by standing for good Christian values such as preserving the lives of the unborn. Colton won the District 4 seat and is now the conservative representative for the county! Ever since they were dating, Colton and Brittany have been burdened to use their resources to fight for the plight of the unborn, they even got engaged at the first fundraiser they threw for Windenburg's crisis pregnancy centres! In celebration of the win, the Dahlmann family have arranged a wonderfully fancy fundraising gala on behalf of all of district 4's crisis pregnancy centres. They are such a great couple, and Brittany told me such funny stories of growing up with Parker and his siblings, and of all the good things the Lord has done in her life. The Dahlmann estate is just spectacular, they live in the Crumbling Isle part of Windenburg, which is a piece of land that is set apart from the main city of Windenburg and is accessible by a bridge that requires a special pass to cross. Looking out at the ocean and the greenery by the cliffs, it really shows you the wonder of the Lord's creation. They mentioned that they're back in Newcrest for Harvestfest this year as they rotate where they spend time during the holiday season, so we'll definitely see them at church on the sunday.

A Review of Évolution
So, all of Season 5 has finally be released! Hooray. This is LAURENT’s review of Miraculous Season 5, starting with its long-awaited first episode Évolution. This is a rewatch.
The new opening theme sounds a lot darker and cooler than the previous songs. The electric guitar adds edge, and the reverb echoes a tone of finality. It’s a nice touch that Chat Noir and Ladybug are holding hands towards the end. Compared to Season 4’s opening, with Ladybug holding the new Miraculous Box alone – Chat Noir’s compartment couldn’t even been seen on it – Season 5’s opening support the tagline "Les Aventures de Ladybug et Chat Noir" a lot better.
And we’re starting right off where we picked up.
Maybe it’s because I’m watching it on DisneyPlus, but the animation is crisp. Blessings to whichever studio is animating this.
Personal point of malcontent, but it’s always very notable that Parisian citizens doesn’t seem to address Chat Noir with the same veneration that Ladybug receives. Mostly because he’s only seen as her partner, while she’s the fix-all, Cure-all main hero.
Chat Noir just shattered a Turtle Miraculous Protection with zero effort. Okay. Either that is done for sake of theatrics, or Monarch hasn't quite figure out how to moderate the strength of a Protection yet.
Ladybug disperses Monarch’s butterflies with her Yo-yo. Calls back to their debut.
Gabriel monologues again. Sass shows his position as de facto Kwami leader. It’s always disconcerting to see the Kwami so meek. They shouldn’t act like that should they?
If one looks properly into the crowd cheering for Ladybug and Chat Noir, one will see they’re the same eight character models duplicated.
Good on to Gabriel for jumping immediately onto the plan that makes the most sense, he did what anyone seeking the Yin and Yang Miraculous would’ve done in that situation. Don't waste time, literally go back in time to steal them immediately. Previous Miraculous seasons has a habit of avoiding the most obvious solution to prolong the story, so hopefully, the straight-forwardness of this plan spell a new route for Miraculous’ writing.
Also, lmao, Monarch dropping out of a Voyage and literally crawling to another one. If I were Ladybug and Chat Noir (the present ones), I would’ve been standing and staring in total confusion too. It reminds me of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the whole time-travelling scheme. Seeing your future and past selves, knowing they're there but unable to interact with them. Good on the writers for adding this little cameo of their future selves, explains the time-travelling narrative immediately. Makes the audience excited. Clearly, this Season is starting off strong and big. Plus, sneak peek of Bunny Noir.
And Bunnix appears! I don’t think she appeared much at all in Season 4. Again, a great way to let the audience know this season is going to be big.
Side-note: I never really liked Bunnix’s outfit. When I first saw Adult Alix in Season 3, I was very impressed. The tattoos, the hair, the piercing, it’s a style of trendy and modern fashion Miraculous usually lacks, as all their characters are perpetually dressed in Y2K. I was anticipating something similarly impressive when Bunnix transformed, but – it just looks like a suit for a Rabbit Hero rather than Alix as the Rabbit Hero. Have y’all heard that theory that Aurore should be the Rabbit? Blue colour scheme, two pigtails which could be fashioned into rabbit ears, literally constantly carrying an umbrella? But apart from Marc, I doubt we’ll ever see anyone outside of Madame Bustier’s class as an auxiliary hero.
I quite like Monarch’s new outfit. The stained glass lapel design, the dark half-mask that reveals snowy-white hair – very chilling, very villain-like. The tainted purple eyes and near-translucent pupils grant him an aura of madness, which makes him look very intimidating. It’s more fashionable than his previous suits.
Monarch runs like a badly rigged 3D model.
This man is way too gleeful.
Woah!! Reminds me of Avengers Endgame, Monarch stepping back into the Lady Wifi episode. The animators had to go back in their archives and find all the models for that episode and re-animate the scene. Cool!
This man grew creepier.
Their little cat-and-mouse game should've broken the universe. Death, time, and, dimensions are three staples you do not mess with in any media. Let those who passed pass, let regrets remain regrets, and stop trying to crawl out of where you belong.

I feel like no one can use the word 'Master' nowadays without feeling like a complete fool. From the amount of times Monarch called himself 'master', either he’s used to being called a genius in an atelier, a maestro, or he’s on a total power-trip.
Five Miraculous at once? This man is going to get himself killed.
This man looks so camp. This outfit would sell on a red carpet. Love how any weapon Monarch manifests are purple. Shame that all the weapons are literally copies of what their previous Holders weld. The in-universe reason could be that Monarch hasn’t properly bonded with the Kwami in order to imbue his weapons with his personal taste. But we all know the animators just didn’t have the resources for fancier gadgets.
Shame. For a show centred on fashion, Zag should really allow the animators to go a little nuts with personalised suits and weapons. That’s the whole point of different holders, isn’t it? Each member of Madame Bustier’s class has individual aesthetics, that could play really well into their Miraculous designs.
Ladybug giving Chat Noir the Rabbit Miraculous. That’s surprising. An earlier version of Ladybug wouldn’t have trusted him.
Rabbit Noir’s suit looks awesome! It’s literally just his Chat Noir suit with added blue highlights, but he looks very neon, very snazzy. His hair is uncovered, for once, and the bell is white! I like how the Rabbit Watch is hooked onto his belt. Quite rakish.
Monarch is literally on his last legs seven minutes into the first episode. This man is either going to ambiguously perish, or end up in a coma by the end of the season.
Lmao, they’re straight up bullying him at this point.
And we’re back to the moment we saw earlier.
Oh my goodness, he looks so handsome.
Note that Rabbit Noir's umbrella is completely black with a cyan end. Little personalisation.
If they had attacked him at this moment, the show would’ve been over. But Ladybug and Chat Noir has too much battlefield honour to bludgeon a fallen opponent, even one as annoying as Monarch. Honestly, if I was there, I would’ve been seriously considering the relevance of calling an ambulance. You do not want someone's death on your hands, especially when you can do something about it/has a duty to do something about it. Why isn’t there a Miraculous that could heal? Probably because that'll solve the Émilie issue real soon, and there'll be no need to chase after Ladybug and Chat Noir. Of course, it’s not needed in-universe as nothing really grievous happen to the heroes, but in all team-based media, there’s always the leader and the second-in-command and the wild card, and the either gruff or sensitive healer. I suppose Ladybug is the healer, since she has the Miraculous Cure. The Bee Holder could probably also heal, bees has been a symbol of doctoring since classic Hellenic times.

The once-use-only power rule was very cute in the earlier seasons, especially as it’s used as a puzzle stimulator for young audiences. Adds an element of danger and urgency when the beeping timer starts. But I feel that Miraculous is at the point where the main heroes should be overcoming this basic burden.
I hope Ladybug gets a suit upgrade in this season, I hope both of them do, they’ve long deserved it, especially Chat Noir. Look at how cool they look standing together here. The black on Ladybug’s suit makes her look older, more professional. I get the nostalgia of the OG suit, but part of growing up is saying goodbye to treasured memorabilia. Ladybug should permanently keep her Lucky Charm suit. But I suppose the OG suit is easier to cosplay.
Kwami requiring human food for nourishment always rang wrong to me since Season 1. Back then, it was a very distant concept, just some sweet garnish that contributes to the child-centric ideals of the show, but as the seasons go on, it feels more and more impossible and unrealistic for the Kwami to be reliant on food to maintain their powers. The embodiment of creation perishing because she isn’t regularly fed macarons just doesn’t sound right.
Re: they look so cool.
Oh, her lashes are so long here. Marinette is super pretty. I know there’s accusations of her being whitewashed, but 1) she is white. She’s both white and Asian, and 2) the first time I saw Miraculous, I genuinely thought the writers did their research, because Marinette is the peak of Douyin beauty standards. Little Chinese girls would wow over Marinette.
I do not like Fu. I mentioned in my fics before, but not on this Tumblr. He’s a very weak person and ineffective leader.

Alix wants to study engineering! That’s surprising. I don’t think she has ever shown any penchant for science before. She always struck me as the kind of person who would do competitive skating, or live as a street artist.
Also, this painting! Napoléon crowing Joséphine!! Fits within the theme of Monarch, a self-important man attaining and maintaining absolute power, granting all luxuries to his loved spouse. I really appreciate all the French symbols and culture and art that has shown up throughout Miraculous.
Huh, so the reason why Bunnix is always hopping around time instead of staying with the Miraculous Team is to keep the Rabbit Miraculous, the 'most dangerous' one, out of Papillon/Monarch’s hands. As Bunnix is still keeping up with the hopping even as Papillon’s reign ended, then the Butterfly predecessor villain must also be gunning for the Rabbit Miraculous in the same way.
Poor Alix. One isn’t supposed to consider the mechanics of stuff such as this in cartoons, but they did acknowledge it in the show. Alix is sacrificing a lot, taking on a huge burden, to keep Paris safe. That’s the mark of a hero.
Félix didn’t wear one, but the Dog Miraculous has a penchant for putting its holders in berets. I suppose it’s easier to give them the dog ears without looking like a duplicate of the Cat and Fox Miraculous.
The Balle isn’t attached to her collar, it’s literally glued onto her suit???
Chat Noir’s, Bunny Noir’s, hand looks really good here. I always liked his claws, no other carnivorous mammal, or even the Dragon, has them. Tigresse Pourpre has claws, but they’re attached to her gauntlet, not her actual fingers as Chat Noir’s appears to be.
Nathalie is literally all that’s keeping the Agreste Household together. Is Gabriel even doing his job anymore?
Going back in time to save Émilie before she uses the damaged Peafowl Miraculous seems like a good idea, but surely that’ll spark another timeline with entirely new consequences, wouldn’t it? That’s how these science-fiction storylines usually go. But you're not supposed to think about that, that's way too complicated.
Nathalie coming up with solid plans. Instead of chasing a solution, why not just fix the problem so that it doesn’t exist?
Émilie is super, super pretty. I can see what Adrien takes from her. She looks like a Sakamoto Shin-ichi character.
Defeated by your own hubris. It’ll literally take only a second to drop the memory drive.
This looks pretty snazzy. The dual stacked layers on the mask looks much better than the halved pattern from the Dog alone.
At least one Miraculous is kept safe from Monarch, and it’s potentially the most dangerous one. Other Miraculous has a lot of attack power, think the Dragon or the Ox, but not a lot of ability to mess around with reality or space or timelines. Would give Monarch the crux of the advantage, basically. Other Miraculous Ladybug and Chat Noir will need to watch out for are the Snake and the Goat.
The future does not belong to those that live in the past. The future belong to those who lives in the present and cautiously plans for the future.
Both Ladybug and Chat Noir de-transformed off-screen.
Trivial detail: but I never liked Chat Noir’s ears. They look childish, and they also appear to be clipped onto nothing. His longer hair has to hide his human ears because otherwise, it’ll look strange. Dual listening appendages.
Nathalie confirming that the Miraculous War has much more to do with saving Émilie now, Gabriel has become obsessed with defeating his adversaries. Falling into a glue trap of his own making. I’m actually surprised that Nathalie said Gabriel’s obsession is with both Ladybug and Chat Noir. Usually, it’s just Ladybug.
Miss Lila! She appears once in the episode. This still makes her look so much like an ordinary girl. I hope Lila also get a new outfit this season. She won’t keep it permanently, but like how Chloé occasionally get novelty outfits.
This was a great first episode! It resolves so many issues – such as taking the outlier Rabbit Miraculous from Gabriel's hands – and introduced a major plot overturn, Gabriel's loyal henchwoman finally leaving his side. Sprinkle in a little fan-service, Rabbit Noir who is also integral to the narrative, and a flash of an appearance from the soon-to-come 'main' Miraculous villain.

We start in the very first episode, the pilot.
Look 1:
Our first glimpse of our leading lady is when she’s watching the particle accelerator be turned on. Though it’s nothing especially exciting, I love this look. All of it feels like it couldn’t be worn separately- which is very, very Iris. Yes, she can be impulsive and emotional, but at the same time, she doesn’t make a move without considering everything, and such details are woven into her outfits.
I love her moto jacket!! I REALLY wish she got to repeat it in the show. Wornontv informs me that it’s the Montesson Jacket in Navy Marine/Everest by Wilfred. It’s gorgeous on her. The dark purple and red combo looks great.
In future, the purple and red would reflect Barry and Iris as a superhero power couple so while I’m sure it was unintentional, A+ for unintentional foreshadowing with Iris’ outfit. Also the fact that it goes so well with Barry’s outfit? Soulmates.
Candice said that Iris rarely wears flat shoes and this is reflective in the Pilot where she starts off by running in heeled ankle boots.
Not pictured, but she also has cute little red bracelets and studded earrings which look great, not overpowering her look but adding to it. And this is the first time she wears rings! Rings are Iris’ go to accessory throughout the series so it’s neat to see where it all started! Unfortunately, I can’t find where to find them.
Also love the bag with her psych dissertation in it. For as much as Iris ribs Barry about his nerdiness, she is SUCH a nerd. Yes, Iris, the particle accelerator unveiling is the best place to work on your dissertation and not something you could go back to when you get home!

Look 2:
Not much of a look- it was very briefly shown but it looks like casual wear. Which is very exciting- we don’t get to often see her casual garb this season! Looks like a pink top, green or black jacket and grey pants. A chaotic colour combination that is more chaotic than others, but still looks good on her.
This is probably due to the fact that this is one of the most chaotic moments of her life so far- her best friend just got struck by lightning.
Look 3:
Not many pics since this is one of her most recurring outfits, so you’ll def see it again! It is the Wilfred Free LISIÈRE DRESS in CRS Dye/Mykonos BL. I think it’s one of her simplest looks of the season.
She’s grieving Barry, but she has to get to work, smile and be friendly and that is reflected in her costuming. I love that her necklace is off centre- her head doesn’t seem to be tilted and the shot is straight. Off centre necklaces are Iris’ thing in early s1 and honestly, I wish they would make a comeback.
Look 4:
In her next Jitters scene, she wears an army green jacket, a red floral dress (Talula: Lipinski Dress), burgundy tights and of course, heeled ankle boots. There was…a lot in this outfit lmao. I love the jacket- the gold accents, the scalloped back, the collar.
It’s a very cute dress too! And I love the way scoop necks look on her. The daisy necklace is adorable and matches the dress. Still, very cute and very fitting for the outfit. I love the silhouette of her outfit, too.
Look 5
This look is cute and I’m so surprised it only has .4 seconds of screentime considering it was the main promotional look.
Regardless, it’s a short reddish purple dress which is a really unusual shade for her in that she doesn’t get to wear it that frequently. Which is a shame, she looks great in it. She also has a bracelet which looks gold and red in the photoshoots. I’m unsure if she wears it in the show, given the short amount of time she’s in it.
And another off center necklace! Another circular necklace though this one has points. I originally thought it was a locket but no. just a circle.

A baby Iris flashback! This look reappears in 3x21…appears? It’s a pink and white dressing gown with flowers on it and white pyjamas with details on it.
It’s really cute but I can’t get over how close the West family home set looks to Barry’s lab set. Also Barry’s perspective with Iris glowing golden is very, very cute.
DEETED LOOK 2
This doesn’t seem to have Iris vibes to it which might be why this is only in a “blink and you miss it” scene in the trailer. She rarely wears polo collars, and she very rarely wears burgundy and black. That being said, she looks cute.

Ranking the girlies wings up to Harmonix: 🧑💻 Tecna 🧑💻
1) Magic Winx
It physically pained me to pick between Tecna's magic Winx and her Enchantix wings but her Magic Winx wings edged out the win for being just so fucking interesting and cool. Her fucking glider??? The Believix wings size never bothers me because the smaller wings don't look like they actually be able to make someone fly, but the glider just side steps this competely. It's magic. She had a techno magic glider that springs from two cool electrical prong looking things on her back. Fuck you. She's thee Tecna of Zenith motherfucker. You wish you were as cool as her
Her wings literally have an on and off form, she's perfect, I love her
2) Enchantix
I LOVE THESE!!! Listen, listen, listen. It both keeps the Enchantix wings aesthetic, while making sure that Tecna's weird girl interesting wings theme going but just not giving her bottom wings??? I love it??? I love her???? The only thing is that her wings and outfit are the same color of purple, there's no other colors in her wings. But they're so well shaped and the dangly bits are so well added. I love her, these wings look so good on her. Early seasons Tecna is never caught slipping on her weird girl shit. Bless
3) Sophix
Her lower wing is now actually a wing!
Tecna's Sophix definitely fixes her Believix wings. Which is not of the only nice things I will say about it because it commits Tecna magic form skirt crimes. I think if they tilted her top wings up more, and made the lower wing's longer but still really skinny (with membranes, like Tecna's Sophix) it would look so much better, and not like they were trying and failing to copy her Enchantix, while still keeping Tecna's very important weird girl enegry
4) Lovix
It doesn't have her Believix wings gradient, so it's FINE. It's boring but isn't ugly, so it goes here. Completely inoffensive
5) Believix
OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT GRADIENT????
When Believix fails it fails fucking hard, why would they make that gradient. Do they not like Tecna or something??
Also the only two little stiff parts of her bottom wing with no membrane thing looks bad. I'm so sorry, it just does. It just makes her wings look unfinished. They could of done a different thing to make her wings suitably weird girl instead of Enchantix "fuck with her bottom wing" but worse, but I do have to respect the attempt of commiting to her vibe properly
6) Harmonix
There's barely a passing refrence to Tecna's weird girl aesthetic. "Oh her wings are all pointed up, and curved at the bottom. Her wings are the most unique. That's enough, especially after all of her wings commit so strongly to being very personalized to Tecna, and distinctly being weird." I hate you samey Nickelodeon aesthetics, die a thousand deaths

What was your motivation?
My number one motivation for losing weight was and still are my children. My weight slowly began to creep up, and I started to lose feeling in both my feet; my circulation was getting worse in my hands. In 2015, I remember passing out while I was braiding my hair (something I’ve never really had a hard time doing before).
I had to stay in the hospital for two weeks due to blood clots being found in my lungs and a positive ANA test, which meant my immune system was actively attacking my body. My family was so concerned and afraid for me. I ended up leaving the hospital needing oxygen. My body was completely out of whack, and I was only 35 years old during this time.
I tried several times to lose weight, but I could never get past 30-40 pounds loss. The auto-immune issue was trying to run my life to where walking was almost unbearable. I finally decided to take advantage of weight loss surgery ( in June 2024) as a tool to assist me in sustaining long-term success and getting the weight off for good. It’s one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made for myself. My auto-immune issues literally went away as the weight came off.
I had gastric sleeve surgery, and I have no regrets. Some say it’s a shortcut, but I’m telling you that weight loss surgery is literally a tool. If the mind isn’t strong enough to stay on task, the weight will come back! It’s just a tool that aids in helping on your weight loss journey. The weight loss eventually slows down. However, if you stick to your new lifestyle, the surgery won’t stop working as your tool.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating habits have improved tremendously. I eat lean fish and lots of herbs. I love Thai foods loaded with herbs, such as laab and Thai beef salad (My faves. I was born and raised in the Philippines). I also love to eat fruits that contain a lot of water, such as watermelon.
Of course, I can only hold a little bit of food, which has also caused me to be more aware of ensuring I get enough water daily. I’m always looking for ways to incorporate protein in my beverages to mix things up whenever I’m bored with protein drinks.
What is your workout routine?
I work out 3-4 times a week. I love walking on the treadmill or outside. I do challenges such as Joie’s (JoieNlife) fitness challenges. I also use my redgefit bar at home five times a week, which allows me to work on my flexibility and muscle toning.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 346 lbs, and my current weight is 253 lbs.
What is your height?
I’m 5 feet, 9 inches tall.
When did your journey begin?
I started my journey in March 2022, and I’m still practicing this new way of life. My journey is a lifestyle change that I’m very blessed and thankful to be on.
I started to notice a change around the holiday season of 2022. My birthday outfit went from being too tight six months prior to being too loose. I was very excited to see my hard work paying off, as it motivated me to keep going.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned on this journey is to never give up on myself. I would be so hard on myself and so frustrated that my body was so out of wack. No matter what I did, nothing was working long-term.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
As women, we can be our worst critics. We are nurturers, and it’s so easy for us to put ourselves last. I serve my family naturally, and it gives me great joy to see their smiles and to get all the hugs and kisses from my babies.
I love life and want to see my great-grandchildren. The way my body was operating, it didn’t seem like that would have happened for me, which hurt me. It’s so important we take care of ourselves and stay on top of routine health checks, exams, etc. Small things like this make a world of difference. We can’t neglect ourselves if we are going to be at our best for our families and communities.
