Helia: I'm so happy to be joining the Silva family! I mean, I'll be getting more siblings! I really hope we all can get along and grow together as a new family unit~! Solid: (leans over to Nozel) You can't go through with this, Nozel. It'll be so weird. Nozel: What's the worst that could happen? Nebra: She'll make us do commoner stuff like "family bonding night." Noelle: I'm not opposed to that. It just means I'll kick your butts at Twister. Nebra and Solid: ... Even worse, we'll be humiliated by Noelle! Nozel: (looks between his siblings) You know what, that's even more reason to go along with it. Noelle: (pumps fist) Helia: (tilts head) What're you guys talking about over there?

Could I ask for Helia and Selen for your Finnish word association game?
Ooo the two characters with whom I'm not quite so familiar with...
Let's see
Helia:
Metsä
The word means and translates into "forest". And it may seem odd at first, but when we think about it, in ye Olde days, it was the place from where you gathered berries and mushroom, hunted for food, gathered fire wood and building materials. So, the forest nurtures. And even in present day some people still go there to just be, gather their thoughts and just be at peace.
A forest is a place of nurture and serenity, of you keep your wits about you.
And a forest is honest. Actually, we have a saying "niin metsä vastaa kuin sinne huudetaan".
"As you scream into the woods, the woods reply". It's honest and it's reflective.
It treats you as you treat it. But it's not malicious in any way. Because by default is a place of nurture.
Tumblr media
Selen:
Vuorovesi
The tide. Or literally "turn water". This one I associate with him more so because "Selen" the moon, and so on, but again of we think about it. The tides are also giving, if you work with them. And it's also an honest natural phenomenon. It can come to you or it can withdraw away.
But I also want to say "rantakallio" which is a large rock by a shore. And not like a loose rock, more of a cliff side kind of a rock.
Though the tides are stronger, more relentless and determined. Because it's not the rock that will yield with the constant swaying of the waters.

Hi once again!
If you'd like to answer one more from me what about Helia x Nozel and Josele x Morgen (since I'm reading about them lately and i'm quite compelled) 💕
Aaaaaaahhhhh! Nozelia! My first ship in the fandom (still holds a special place in my heart since it was my starting place… 💖).
Oh but also Morgsele (yes I answered about it yesterday but I wanna gush moooore~)!
Thank you for asking Lola, now let me answer!
Nozel x Helia
Okay, I'll be honest, Nozelia is 50/50 makes sense and doesn't make sense. Nozel is super proper and disciplined while Helia is untamed, silly, and airheaded. They're opposites in every way and yet they find their way to each other. The main means for them to connect is Helia taking the initiative to send Nozel letters updating him on Noelle's situation in the Black Bulls and it takes some time before Nozel starts replying.
But still, their relationship is so compelling. Helia has the freedom and optimism that Nozel lacks because of his position and history. Helia is open with her love of her family while Nozel is on the struggle bus for that, so he'd envy that in her. And Helia knows Nozel is unnecessarily cold but still wants to become someone disciplined like him since for so long, she's just been living without much thought. I'm also compelled by the contrast they have. Nozel is pale and Helia has lovely tanned skin. Nozel is silver and Helia is gold. He has a metal-based magic (and I always associate metal with civilization and technology, even in this case) and she has a plant-based magic (plants are the wild). Opposites attract, babyyyyyyyy~!
.....
Morgen x Josele
Now I've talked about this ship before but I'm gonna go for it again.
MAKES SENSE AND COMPELS ME!
Morgen is the squishy wizard while Josele is the martial warrior. But Morgen learned a spell to make weapons because of Josele and Josele does what she can to fight with her magic. I'm made super soft by the way the two of them love basically everything about each other. Josele always knew she was different from the noble girls that Morgen was surrounded by. But Morgen adores her rough hands, her strong arms, and her simple beauty. Josele loves Morgen's bedhead and the joy of brushing it out, his long finger with their gentle touch, and the dimples on his face when he smiles so wide. They bring out the best in each other. I am also compelled by how silly they can be, getting absorbed in their own little world. I'm just too soft for them!

BC Twins Convention
Helia and Selen are my ocs.
Solara and Selena are @thoughtfullyrainynightmare’s ocs.
Gabriel is @marune2’s oc.
And Sorano is @kotos-lotos’s oc.
..........
Nacht: Why are you dragging me along to this event?
Helia: Because you're a twin just like everyone else there!
Nacht: As true as it is, my brother is dead so I might be quite out of place at this event.
Selen: Vice Captain, if anyone gives you grief, we’ll have your back.
Nacht, Helia, and Selen: (enter a large convention hall room)
Solara: Lord Faust, Mister and Miss Nymvire! Glad to see you made it!
Helia: Oh so happy to be here! How’s the turn out?
Solara: Excellent if I say so myself. Maybe even unexpectedly high… (turns her head)
Morgen: (walking over) Big brother! You made it!
Nacht: Morgen? (tears up) MORGEN! (runs and hugs him) I won’t even question how you’re here! 😭😭😭 I’m just so happy!
Morgen: There there, brother.
Selen: How the f-?
Selena: (joins the group) Might not be as weird but we have some unexpected shows. (points over)
Solid: You’re a worse Silva than Noelle and that’s saying something!
Gabriel: Like your opinion means anything to me you wet towel of a big brother!
Solid: Runaway freak!
Gabriel: Mother’s unfavorite!
Solid: WHY YOU!
Sorano: (grabs Solid) Keep you cool, brother! C’mon, over this way! (drags him away)
Noelle: (goes up to Gabriel) You realize that Nozel is going to give you a scolding once we’re home right?
Gabriel: That’s assuming I go home.
Noelle: Gabriel! 😰
Helia: Well, it’s not like every pair of twins can get along. 😅
Selena: I didn’t even know Solid and Noelle were twins. Talk about family secrets.
Selen: You’d think it would come up more often.
Asta and Yuno: (enter)
Asta: We’re here! Sorry we’re late!
Sorano: (walks over) No trouble if you’re late. I’m sure Noelle will be happy to have you join us today. 😁
Solara: But aren’t you two…?
Asta: We may not be brothers by blood but we were raised with the same birthday.
Yuno: It counts, right? Besides, I say we should be allowed in if those two got an invite.
Selena: Which two?
Yuno: (points behind him where Lilith and Namaah are seen walking over)
Solara: 😱 Close the doors! Lock them tight!
Selen: What the hell are they doing here?!
Helia: Maybe they wanted a rematch against Nacht and Asta? 🤔
Sorano: I would argue your brother is talking about their living status but considering… (looks in the Fausts’ direction) I guess that’s not a sticking point.
Selena: We should’ve had a fixed guest list for this event… 😓

Soleil: I know what I wanna do with my life!
Chalivas: Become a respectable member of society at last?
Aecor: Chal, Leil is respectable. Just not orderly.
Soleil: Hey, whose side are you on?
Fleuriana: Can we hear about Leil's life plans already? I wanna know if he's really cool like me or if he's gonna be a lame knight like Chal and Ace.
Nozel: Children, no insulting each other's life choices at the table please.
Helia: Soleil, please. Do tell.
Soleil: I'm gonna start a traveling circus!
Chalivas: Oh gods, he really has fallen for good.
Fleuriana: Bro, I know you're a bit of a class clown but really?
Helia: Fleur, dear. There's more to a circus than clowns and you know it.
Nozel: Son... I know entertainment and performance is your passion but... It's quite an investment.
Soleil: You'll back me up, right Dad? Oh, what if I named it after the family... Ah... Uh... Cirque Du Silva!
Chalivas: Don't you *dare* attach the Silva name to a circus of all things!
Soleil: Okay what about... Cirque Du Soleil! I think that has a nice ring.
Aecor: Eh, I don't think it'll catch on...

Mallory: No one tell Sele I said this but she could definitely be an axe murderer.
Vanessa: Is it because she can wield an axe?
Mallory: Nooooo… It’s because… Her neutral face is really scary.
Helia: Particularly when she’s holding an axe above you.
Noelle: Yeah. You don’t get the same vibes with a sword or spear. It’s the axe.
Acylla: Hence why we say “axe murderer” and not like “dagger murderer.”
Nero: Her ability to wield various weapons only makes her more formidable.
Ida: It’s what makes her so cool!
Grey: Can we not imagine Josele as a killer? It's so scary to think!
Charmy: Still not as scary as her soulless cooking.
Josele: (walking in) Wait what’s not as scary as my bad cooking?

The Future Silva Family
Since I revealed Nacht and Josele's future children, it would only be fair for me to reveal Nozel and Helia's future children as well.
Here they are: Aecor, Fleuriana, Chalivas, and Soleil.
..........
Aecor Silva
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His name is a alternative form of the Latin word "aequor" which means "an even surface" or "the sea when calm." He's also got the nickname "Ace."
Age: 18
Birthday: March 3
Magic Attribute: Water.
Appearance: a perfect blend of his parents. Nozel's silver hair and Helia's golden hair combined gives Aecor hair that looks like electrum (the actual metal that is a mix of gold and silver). And between Nozel's purple eyes and Helia's green eyes, their son has blue eyes. He keeps his hair long and styles a couple little braids on the right side of his head.
Personality: Aecor's got the collected attitude of his father but underneath his stoicism, he's got his mother's kindness and love of life. He's too soft for his own good. He'll say he's too busy to help with small matters with the coldest look in his eyes. But one "please," he'll be watering the fields of some backwater village. He's protective of his younger siblings and will do everything to not be how Nozel, Nebra, and Solid once were towards Noelle. He's strategic and inclined to lead, meaning he is able to determine and direct people's strengths for the best results.
Aecor's magical abilities are high leveled and well-rounded. He's got a lot of mana, excellent control, and a versatile array of spells.
He is the heart of the little friendship he has with his siblings. They wholeheartedly trust him and follow his advice/"orders."
Aecor looks up to and is close to people like Asta, Klaus, and Mimosa. Yuno is also amongst his role models.
Aecor definitely joins the Magic Knights in the future and, at Nozel's insistence, joins the Silver Eagles.
Fleuriana Silva
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her name is based on the French word for "flower" with some extra, royal flourish. Most people just call her "Fleur" though.
Age: 16
Birthday: May 5
Magic Attribute: Ironwood. A combination of her parents' metal and plant-based magics to make still living plants that are as durable as steel.
Appearance: She's got her mother's green eyes and her father's silver hair. Her hair is long enough to style but she likes leaving it loose and wild the way Mereoleona used to have it. But when she dolls up, she does opt for her mother's own hair style of a braided crown and low ponytail.
Personality: Fleuriana has two sides of her. When in public, Fleuriana comes off as composed, polite, and dainty. She shows great self-awareness, picking her words and deeds carefully. When in private, Fleuriana is outspoken and impulsive. She does what she likes with only her family being able to deter her from (though not a guarantee). The difference between Fleur casually and during formal occasions is so big that Nozel and Helia joke that they have two daughters. No matter what situation Fleuriana finds herself in, though, she is a forward, self-confident person.
Fleuriana has a great deal of raw power in her magic but she lacks the masterful control that Aecor has.
Fleuriana is a wild card and is known to run off on her own. She's the most independent of the kids.
Fleuriana's top role model is Mereoleona. She'd also be close to Noelle, Luck, and Vanessa.
Her future path is definitely one of being an adventurer, exploring the depths of strong mana regions and even leaving the continent to see more the world.
Chalivas Silva
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His name is simply the Greek word for "steel." His nickname is "Chal."
Age: 14
Birthday: January 14.
Magic Attribute: Mercury
Appearance: Ironically, despite having his father's magic, he looks like his mother. The silvery color of his Mercury Magic contrasts with his golden hair which he keeps short and well combed. And his deep green eyes like the forest are often glaring into people's souls.
Personality: There appears to be careful consideration in every move Chalivas makes and he does his best to act with dignity. Chalivas believes in doing things in a "proper" way, meaning things that are efficient and benefit as many as possible. He looks up to Aecor's kindness and Fleuriana's strength but worries they take the virtues to negative extremes. He's not one to talk, as his overly serious behavior makes him an unintentional killjoy. He is someone who is good without being nice though he can show some softness. He's got a lot of walls up though.
Like his father, Chalivas' greatest strength in terms of magic is his control. His control is on prodigy level.
Might be the only sane child. Chalivas is often the one reigning in his older siblings because their hearts so often get the better of them.
Chalivas admires people like Marx, Fuegoleon, and William.
In the future, he would join the Magic Knights and be a Silver Eagle. Though he aims high and fully intends on starting his own squad.
Soleil Silva
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soleil's name is the French word for "sun."
Age: 12
Birthday: December 23
Magic Attribute: Flora
Appearance: Just like Chalivas, Soleil has one parent's magic and the other parent's appearance. Soleil is Nozel's spitting image. Soft purple eyes like lavender. Silver hair that... doesn't have a good plant equivalent, darn. He eventually grows his hair long and wears it in a low braid.
Personality: Soleil is a charismatic kid and gets along with many kinds of people. He has a positivity and enthusiasm that would be contagious. He's also a curious and playful child, meaning he’s a bit of a prankster. Fortunately, his family is smart enough to not fall victim. Unfortunately, that means it’s mostly servants or nobles getting pranked. He's more than a trickster though. He's perceptive and likes to get a read on a person/situation before attempting an approach. Part of Soleil's charisma is built on him first understanding the people he interacts with.
When it comes to magic, what Soleil lacks in power and control, he makes up for in creativity. His grimoire would be dense. Forget the spells inside, the grimoire itself is a weapon.
Soleil is the kind of younger sibling that hypes up and is awed by anything his siblings do. He just loves seeing them succeed. But he also keeps an eye on them, looking for weaknesses that he can exploit for pranks.
Soleil would be close to people like Rill, Dorothy, Kirsch, and Asta.
Being a Magic Knight would restrict Soleil's free spirit too much so he'd become a performer of some kind, using his magic to entertain and inspire others.

Helia: They say you are what you eat but I actually believe that I’m what I drink.
Selen: And what do you drink?
Helia: Fruit tea.
Selen: 😐 …
Helia: 🙂 …
Selen: (slams his hand on the table) Dammit Helia!
Helia: (giggles) I knew you’d get it.

Little Things
Just some random factoids about my Black Clover ocs that aren't enough to make individual posts about.
Josele Canty
Josele likes to aimlessly draw in dirt. She’s not a dedicated artist but she's a decent one. And even though she knows what she doodles will fade, the idea of “I drew here once and even though it’s gone physically, I’ve left my mark here somehow” touches her heart.
Josele considers her greatest luxury to be the ring Morgen proposed to her with. It's simple and, price wise, doesn't compare to the many dresses he's bought her, but it's priceless to her.
Pajamas of choice: nightgown, short or long. No exceptions. It’s one article of clothing to slip in and out of.
Her shower thoughts would include just reciting the last book she's read with eerie accuracy.
.....
Helia Nymvire
Helia loves burying her hands/feet into things. Sand, mud, water, anything that can be submerged into really. Those varying tactile sensations are fun.
She likes to buy shiny baubles. Hair clips, bracelets, or pendants. For herself or her friends, she likes trinkets that bring out one’s eyes or compliments their hair color.
Pajamas of choice: shorts and tank top since she overheats easily. That or just her underwear if she’s feeling particularly toasty on some evenings.
Has dragged every member of the Black Bulls into a mud pit with Henry as the sole exception (for obvious reasons).
.....
Selen Nymvire
Selen is fond of flower buds. The small, unbloomed flowers have potential and that fills him with hope.
He likes taking baths so whenever he indulges, he typically buys nice bath salts or soaps. Later on, per Nero's suggestion, he starts keeping little sachets of soap shavings or salts so he never loses a scent.
Pajamas of choice: um, none? He would go to sleep in whatever he’s wearing at any given moment, no exceptions. The man could be in a full tuxedo and be perfectly comfortable sleeping in it. He’s probably forgotten that clothes specific to sleeping exist.
Shockingly flexible. Can do full splits and reach a foot behind his head without discomfort.
....
Lorelei Koascky
She takes pride in how many pages in her books have dog-eared corners. She's a heathen that bookmarks via bent page corners and sees those corners as proof of how many times she's read her books.
Lorelei indulges in some good massages because sometimes, being hunched over magic textbooks can hurt. She's gotten out of Marx chewing her out for spending her research budget on massages by inviting him to some too.
Pajamas of choice: matching long sleeve shirt and pants. Nothing but fine silk wrapping her body for bed.
Has a book she uses exclusively to put her to sleep because it's just that boring. So many of the pages are warped and smudged from drool she's left on it.
.....
Irene Lodeston
She likes the look of polished floors. Whether they be wood laminate or tile, shiny and sparkling floors give her a sense of joy.
She loves tea and coffee. She's always seeking out fancy blends and loves buying ones with limited releases. She has a whole room in her manor dedicated to storing tea leaves and coffee beans.
Pajamas of choice: either goes with matching pajama pants and shirt or a nightgown.
Has kissed Letoile in front of her class because the children cheered for them to do it. Irene thinks of the moment fondly while Letoile is embarrassed she got pressured by children.
.....
Lexi Tateson
Something small she likes to do is walk narrow lines. The top of a fence, a tree bridge over a ditch, or just a drawn line. Tetia jokes that Lexi should've become a tightrope walker instead of a bodyguard given her fascination.
Lexi's way of indulging involves buying trinkets, toys, and snacks from Clover Kingdom and bringing them to the children of the elf tribe. She loved seeing them marvel at the culture difference through those small things.
Pajamas of choice: whatever the medieval equivalent of sweatpants and a t-shirt is. Simple and easy to wear so she can be at the ready at a moment’s notice.
Lexi and Licht have tried testing which of their magics is stronger but never came to a conclusion.

Do all the questions with Helia hehehe!
Oh boy! Here we go again with a whole essay worth of answers!/lh
..........
1. What is the main color associated with them? What connections with that color do they share? Helia is primarily associated with the color yellow. For one, Helia has bright blond hair. Yellow is the color of happiness, energy, and positivity in general. Helia's got a personality that's as bright as sunshine, she wants to spread hope and joy to those around her, like the sun shining down on the world. In most shades, it's bright and hopeful. Yellow does have connotations of excess too; it's a somewhat overwhelming color and can strain the eyes if you stare at it too long. And, sometimes, Helia's energy is too much to keep up with.
2. Drawing from the language of flowers, what flower would symbolize them? Helia is associated with the larkspur flower.
Tumblr media
In general, they symbolize an open heart, strong bonds of love, and positivity. All of which suit Helia who wears her heart on her sleeve and loves so many people. White ones denote a happy disposition, fitting Helia's personality. Purple ones are specifically for first love; while Nozel isn't Helia's first love, she would be his. Pink are for fickleness, unpredictability in a way, and Helia is the type to flit about. Blue ones are for dignity and grace, things which Helia has little of put picks up as time goes on.
3. What real life animal would they be represented by? This is going to sound a little strange at first but I think elephants are a good animal for Helia. Elephants live in matriarchal groups so they are associated with femininity. They're known for their strength and endurance. Helia isn't physically strong or resilient but her spirit is hard to break down, as she holds out hope for a very long time. Those ideas also apply to her having a lot of magic and healing powers. Elephants are loyal creatures too, they mourn their family who die, and Helia's bonds of loyalty are what save Selen and later herself from elf possession. There is a rough beauty to elephants and Helia as well. Elephants may be large and slow but they interact with each other and humans so gently. And Helia may be loud and wild, but her positivity is a thing of beauty which uplifts others.
4. What mythical creature would they be represented by? Helia would be represented by a pegasus. Horses on their own are known for their majesty and beauty, they're associated with heroism (knights riding in on their noble steed). They also symbolize freedom which is enhanced by the pegasus' wings, which let it traverse the sky as well as land. Helia is supposed to be quite beautiful so that's an easy match. In terms of majesty, Helia doesn't start with much but instead gains it as she trains and focuses her ideals and magic. And her helpful heart paired with her work as a Magic Knight makes her quite the hero. Finally, there's her free-spirited, almost untamable, nature that contrasts with Nozel's restricted discipline.
5. Which body part are they associated with? I would associate Helia with the chest. The chest is one part of the human torso, where we get most of our strength. While Helia isn't the core of the Black Bulls' strength, she's one of the members that contributes to the squad's emotional heart. She's open with her feelings and encourages others to do the same. She does her best to spread positivity to the others, much in the way the heart (within the chest) pumps blood throughout the body. The chest also brings to mind thoughts of intimacy, vulnerability. Imagine being held up by your parents or crying into the chest of a friend or partner. Helia's dynamic with Nozel involves him allowing himself to be vulnerable with her. Thus, Helia's connection with that part of the body.
6. Which of the four seasons best fits them? Summertime is Helia's season. Spring is when new life comes in but summer is when everything has fully bloomed and come to life. Helia herself is still needs to refine her abilities but she's past the stage of slowly budding and coming into herself. She's present and in full bloom. It's the brightest, hottest time of the year, giving it an association with intensity. And Helia herself is an intense person. Summer also brings to mind a long summer vacation of freedom, suitable for Helia's free spirit.
7. What time of day are they associated with? Helia's time of day is midday, when the sun is highest in the sky. At this point in the day, most people are wide awake and going about their business. Helia likes to be out and about in busy streets, seeing what people are up to. And midday seems like the perfect time for that.
8. Which of the seven heavenly virtues are they associated with? Do they embody that virtue or are they trying to learn it? Patience is Helia's virtue. She endured several trials and tribulations, from her family's lifestyle changing to missing her brother for several years. But she's managed to come back every time with a smile on her face. As a healer, she is merciful. She forgives Selen for lowkey abandoning the family and for hurting the Black Bulls while possessed. She is also patient with Nozel and his trouble with affection and forgives him whenever he fumbles. And Nozel will struggle a lot when it comes to being a better brother and being more open with romance. It's a virtue not just about waiting but about being steadfast, which Helia is almost an expert in.
9. Which of the seven deadly sins are they associated with? Is it a negative trait of theirs or something they actively struggle with? Lust, in a somewhat loose sense, is the sin that Helia struggles with. While not highly sexual, Helia's affections are flighty (before she falls hard for Nozel) and she tends to flirt with lots of people. She just thinks everyone has something worth complimenting and can't keep her thoughts to herself. But because Helia is showing an attraction to and giving attention to everyone makes any serious affection she holds for someone hard to believe. It's not malicious but Helia struggles with restraining herself, with stopping herself from keeping her heart focused.
10. Are they closer to life or death? Helia is much closer to life. She is a healer and one of her bigger moments is during the Royal Knights Exam. Finral is a dear friend and so rushes to heal him before even Owen reaches him. She sees the way the others come to Finral’s protection and so she has him in her arm. Her then current spells (Healing Verdure, Rejuvenating Shining Throne, and Orchard of the Golden Ones) are too weak to heal the damage down to Finral and so her grimoire manifests Grove of the Summer Court, a healing heaven wherein Finral’s condition is stabilized and his wounds begin to heal.
She’s also closer to life because of her positivity. She always believed Selen to be alive. And she never lets herself fear losing her loved ones. The way she sees it, life isn’t just a struggle against death or an inevitable march towards it. Life is all around and is meant to be enjoyed, it’s meant to last. She acknowledges death but she’s firm in her hopes that life will always overcome.
11. Land, sea, or sky? Of the realms of the world, which one does the character belong to? The sky is where Helia belongs, strangely enough. She is free like the wind. Her heart cannot be tied down to any one place (except for her romantic affections 🥰). And just like the sky, Helia is boundless is many ways. Her magic is deep, her hopes are unceasing, and her potential for growth (magically and internally) has no end either. While Helia does love the feeling of dirt under her feet as she runs or water flowing over her body as she swims, she feels the greatest amount of peace when the wind is in her hair.
12. Are they the sun, moon, stars or something else in space? Helia is most definitely the sun! She shines and is often welcomed by others, much like how people like the greet the day. She fills people with warmth like the sun does when people sun bathe. Also, like the sun, Helia has a bit of prominence over her siblings as the eldest child. She isn’t very good at responsibilities or expectations though (she’s a ditz after all). But still, she manages to draw people’s eyes and even when she’s overwhelming (like the sun on a summer day) no one can deny her beauty and radiant personality.
13. Instead of your standard four elements, consider what kind of metal represents your character. Usually, I wouldn't associate Helia with metal because to me, plant and metal are opposing elements. But in this case, I would say Helia's symbolic metal is brass. Brass is a loud metal, think brass instruments in a band. Helia is bold and energetic like a brass band. Brass, like Tv Tropes said, is also associated with cheapness. Helia isn’t cheap but she lacks refinement. She can flirt obnoxiously, get in someone’s face when she’s excited, and her airheaded moments can come at the worst of time. Brass can shine and it can be used to make beautiful things, just like Helia. It just takes knowing how to use it right.
14. Regardless of whether or not they wield any, what kind of weapon do you associate them with? The weapon I think of when I think of Helia is a club. Clubs are simple and blunt, maybe a little clumsy seeming. Helia’s best trait is how straightforward she can be, mostly because she’s not very good at subtlety or technical things. But clubs are still very effective weapons and can be used in the wrong way. Helia learns to be more refrained in what she says and how she says it. She learns to read between the lines and see past people’s facades, to understand why they have facades. She’ll never be able to bring herself to be that complex, like a club will never be something like a bow, but she learns how to harness her simpleness to be someone who anyone can open up to.
15. Pick an article of clothing to represent them. What does it mean? I associate Helia with skirts. They can be long, flowing, and feminine. Helia’s as girly as they come, even when she’s caked in mud. She has some classy abilities like dance and playing the lyre. But skirts can also be short, playful, and sporty. She likes to have a good time and let herself be wild. Skirts can feel restrictive but I’ve also seen girls do splits in loose skirts. Skirts have a duality which Helia has to learn to strike a balance between. She should still have her freedom while still becoming more disciplined.
16. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and anything between. What kind of dish are they? Helia would definitely be best represented by lunch. When I think of social meals, I think of lunch. Picnics and barbecues are social events and I've usually experienced them as a lunch-time event. Also, so many times have I been invited out to lunch. Lunch is also a heartier meal, like dinner. Social and hearty are two words that definitely suit Helia. Thus, where I get the association from.
17. What instrument would be used in their leitmotif? Because Helia is able to play the instrument, her leitmotif would include a harp. It would stand in contrast to her personality but for her, her musical motif is about her potential. She has a gentle heart, like the gentle sound of a harp. And she learns technique and refinement of her magic skills and behavior.
18. Which card would they be from the major arcana of tarot cards? The Sun is the major arcana that Helia is associated with.
Upright, The Sun represents positivity, fun, warmth, success, and vitality. It's all practically a perfect match for Helia. She's an optimistic, fun-loving, and kind-hearted woman. Vitality? That's about her liveliness and her healing magic, of course! And success? She was born in a noble family, her family got stripped of their status, and they eventually get it back through Helia and Selen's work as Magic Knights. Also Helia marrying into the royal family is a big win!/lh
When reversed, the card represents one's inner child, feeling down, overly optimistic. Helia is hopeful to a fault. She believes even when there's not much proof that things will turn out for the best. There are times when she does feel down, though. After Asta's arms are broken and cursed at the Undersea Temple, she tries with all her might to heal Asta but her magic is insufficient and she despairs. And that inner child, Helia does want to come across as mature and in control, but she has the awe for the world the way a child does. And with Nozel, she encourages him to be vulnerable as a child again after years of having to be strong.
19. Which of the four temperaments are they? Definitely sanguine, through and through! She's people-oriented, energetic, and open. She's got many of the strengths and weaknesses of the sanguine temperament. She forgives easily and supportive of her loved ones, which are great. But her lack of discipline and her gullibility can't be denied. She's even got the blond hair and lovestruck dere type attributed to being sanguine.
20. What word/phrase is central to their character? “I will be there for you.”
Helia wants to help people. But she's flighty and gets distracted easily. Committing and being a dependable, stable aid is something she needs to get better at. It starts by being a training partner with Noelle because they both have magic control troubles. Then she refuses to let Selen, possessed by Vetto, lose himself and isn't scared away even when her life is being threatened. She bonds with Nozel and becomes someone he can open up to. And it's not just Helia who needs to be there for others. Nozel attempts to reach out to her when she's possessed, showing that he wants to be there for her. But in that moment, it doesn't work out. Selen manages to talk Helia to her senses though, letting him save her the way she saved him. Above learning self-discipline, Helia's arc is about loyalty and dependability.

Nozel vs. William for Helia's affection can be described as such:
Nozel may have had a slow start but he wasn't William who tripped over his own feet, rolled down a hill, and fell into a raging river that carried him way off the romantic route.

All the questions for Helia
Here we are, the last of the "answering all questions in one go" oc asks!
..........
1. What inspired you to create your oc?
"Magic is everything." That line seems to rule the world that Black Clover takes place in. So I thought "what if there was one place where people didn't use magic?" From there, I decided to make a character who grew up in an environment despite having strong magic and it had a negative side effect on their magic development.
2. Why does your oc look the way they do? What are your reasons for their appearance?
First off, I just wanted to create a character who was outright pretty. You look at her and go "she's the pretty one in the friend group." Out of all my ocs (Black Clover or otherwise), Helia is and forever will be the prettiest of them (only rivaled by her own twin brother).
I gave Helia her blond hair because she is named for the sun and has a bright personality. She's got green eyes for her connection to nature as well as to put a darker color to contrast her bright hair. And speaking of darker color, I really wanted Helia to be a darker-skinned, "sun-kissed" character to set her apart from most of the rest of Black Clover's cast.
Her features give her a good contrast with her love interest, Nozel. His silver hair against her golden hair. He's fair-skinned while she's darker skinned. His eye color is a pale shade of purple while hers is a deep, dark green. However, it wasn't intentional. The contrast I accidentally created was one of the reasons I began shipping them actually.
3. What is the origin of the character’s name?
Helia's name comes from Helios, the Greek god and personification of the sun. I took off the "s" and turned "o" to "a" to make it a feminine name.
4. Why did you give them the name they have? What is the in-universe reason for their name?
Like I said in the post about Selen, I wanted to inverse the male-sun, female-moon dynamic, thus the female twin is named for the sun.
And as I said before, in-universe, Estrelle gave her twin children names based on the sun and moon to match her own star-related name.
5. What kind of abilities and power level does your oc have? Why did you give them their powers? What’s the in-universe reason?
Tumblr media
Helia's magic attribute is Flora Magic, plants with some seasonal themes thrown in to slightly differentiate it from regular Plant Magic. Like Selen, Helia's mana level is at the same place as Nozel's.
I gave Helia Flora Magic because I wanted to create a magic that would be pretty to look at and could easily be given a fae theming since I was just vibing with fae aesthetics at the time.
And as I said with Selen, twins having complementary magic attributes has been seen twice and I decided to roll with it like a trend. And her mana amount has the same factors as Selen: exposure to the mana in a strong magic region while in the womb, being born to a noble family, and keeping some of the mana from her elf possession.
6. What are the weaknesses in their power? Why did you give them their weaknesses? What’s the in-universe reason?
Early on, Helia's biggest weakness is her lack of control, specifically over how much mana she expends at a single time. Before buckling down and seriously training with the Black Bulls, Helia tended to just throw out all her magic and spend all her mana on one spell. Pretty bad. Other major weaknesses of hers are metal or poison based magic attributes.
Like I said earlier, I wanted to explore the idea of strong magic being stunted. We have an example of what it would look like in canon through Noelle but that's about her aim. So I decided to make Helia's issue regulating how much energy she uses. She gets a handle on it little by little, slowly learning how to divide up her mana until she can instinctively control her output. And well, the elemental weaknesses just make sense as poisons kill plants and metals are more resistant to bring broken down by plants than earth or stone.
Within the story, Helia's poor mana control stems from living in Tillespire which disallows the use of magic. She was there from age six to nineteen so she's long out of practice by the time she reaches the mainland. Not only that, but she doesn't get her grimoire right away. Selen happened to figure out which grimoire in a grimoire tower was hers and just took it with him thinking he'd give it to her eventually. Helia would find her grimoire in the depths of the Drehinde Jungle (before Asta and Noelle's joining) and that's when her training began in earnest.
7. Does your oc have any notable skills or good personality traits? Why did you give them those traits? Why do they exist in-universe?
Helia's greatest strengths are her optimism and friendliness. Helia's much like Asta in that she doesn't give into pessimism easily, she always wants to hope for better things. And she's friendly enough to try reaching out to anyone she meets. Skill-wise, she's talented with a lyre, dances, and can ride on horseback.
Honestly, I think making Helia an optimistic person was a subconscious choice because my "main oc" for my other fandoms have sad outlooks on their lives and are bad with people. Thus, Helia is positive and sociable. Her skills are what they are because, well, I wanted to give Helia elegant but still freeing talents. Helia can walk or even do simple dances while holding a lyre and I can't get the image of Helia riding fast with the wind in her hair out of my head.
The reasons in-universe for Helia's skills are that she learned the lyre from her father, picked up folk dances and a bit of the waltz at festivals on Tillespire, and riding horses was the fastest way to get around since there were no brooms on the island. One of Helia's spells even creates a horse-like steed to ride, showing her preference for land travel instead of flight. The reason for her positive outlook on life is because she wanted to
8. Does your oc have any notable flaws or activities they’re not good at? Why did you give them those flaws? Why do they exist in-universe?
Her big mouth tends to hurt her in social or more personal, delicate situations, and related, she can't keep secrets. She also tends to be too openly trusting towards other people. Activities she's bad at include cooking, arguing, drawing, and cleaning.
If I was going make Helia a friendly chatterbox, I needed that to be a weakness of some kind, thus she's overly trusting, can talk in the wrong situations, or blab without meaning to. And I decided to make her bad at some domestic chores because I already have plenty of ocs who are good at that, she's already got artistic skills with her instrument and dancing so I decided to make her a bad artist to balance. And I say arguing in the sense of coming up with logical reason and countering other people's arguments.
Despite growing up with a commoner lifestyle, Helia never really got the lessons drilled into her head. Plus she's a little lazy. She can't season food well to save her life and she tends to just throw things around her room instead of organizing. Being as emotionally driven as she is, Helia's bad at coming up arguments or counter-arguments. And Helia probably never picked up drawing because she was busy learning the lyre. As for her blabbermouth, she's so open with herself that she might subconsciously think that everyone ought to be that open which is why secrets are hard to keep. And I'd say her issue of trusting everyone is perhaps her overcompensating for Selen's lack of trust in people. She'd like to believe that most people are good so even if she gets betrayed one... two... twenty times, most people are decent. Right?
9. In a group dynamic, what kind of role does the oc usually fill? Are they a worry wart? A troublemaker? The straight man?
Helia is the kind of team member who keeps morale high even in tough situations. She knows the people around her are strong and won't let them forget that. She'd be the one to tell Noelle to keep working on her aim because she can and will get it eventually. She'd tell Grey that her face is super cute and she's very kind so there's nothing to be shy about. Helia is there to remind Finral that he's going to be the kind of man who can take care of Finesse. In a way, she's the Black Bulls' cheerleader.
She's also a big sister, though she plays the role differently from Vanessa. While Vanessa tends to be more laid back and teasing, Helia is doting to the point of being overwhelming. She's also the kind of sister who takes you out to her favorite hang out spots, like arcades or coffee shops because she'd love for her family to see a part of her world and potentially enjoy it too.
10. What is your favorite trait regarding your oc?
Helia may be a ditz but she's not totally unaware. I like that she pays enough attention to people to pick up their feelings or the tensions between them (all except Nozel's romantic attraction to her, darn it). She'd realize that Luck and Magna are friends before either of them have their own epiphanies, she recognizes how there's this unspoken want to be close from Noelle and Nozel, and appreciate Gordon's friendliness when it isn't apparent to others. But just because she can read a room doesn't mean she knows how to interact with it properly.
11. What is your least favorite trait regarding your oc?
The fact that Helia is more reactive than active as a character. I dunno, I just have a hard time imagining her having that much initiative outside of a romantic context. I know heroes in fiction are usually reactive to the actions of the enemy, but even in personal matters, I don't have Helia act of her own volition. I don't know what else to say really.
12. Which canon characters (if any) do the oc have good relationships with? Why those characters?
Finral. These two are bi disasters who platonically flirt with each other and support each other's romantic endeavors. They'd have a light-hearted dynamic, hyping each other up in the day-to-day or on missions.
Noelle. They're like sisters. They bond over trying to master their magic control. And while Noelle struggles with being upfront about her feelings, Helia is unabashed about sharing hers. That alone would be fun dynamic.
Kirsch. He would find Helia's magic very beautiful and Helia would admire Kirsch's skillfulness on the battlefield. Perhaps his biggest complaint is how she lets herself get dirty so easily.
13. Which canon characters (if any) do the oc have bad relationships with? Why those characters?
Luck. It's not that either really dislike each other but they just don't synchronize. Both are energetic but Helia uses her energy to chat people up and party while Luck's energy goes into fighting. There's no ill-will, simply a lack of synergy.
Charlotte. It's the unstoppable force of Helia's shipping heart versus the immovable object of Charlotte's inability to confess that creates conflict between the women.
Nacht. It's mostly Nacht who doesn't like Helia but she also wouldn't have a high opinion of him after enough time. She's far too optimistic and energetic for him, and he's a downer more often than not which would grate on Helia.
William. Helia enemy number one. When she heard rumors about why William covers his face, her response was "well an ugly face is preferable to an ugly personality." Not the best way to put it but William would've appreciated the notion. And so William tried his hand at romancing Helia to have a sunshine woman in his life. However, come the day when Patry puts his reincarnation plans into motion, he has William invite Helia to the Golden Dawn base for a date, only for William to be a no show. Helia doesn't get much time to be mad though as the elf Leahn reincarnates into her body. When Helia finds out William had tricked her using romance, she's beyond enraged.
Patry. Due to his involvement in taking Selen away and the date ruse, Patry also ends up disliked by Helia. But not as severely since she never had a good rapport with him the way she did with William.
14. Did you give your oc a love interest? Is it another oc or a canon character? Why?
Helia's endgame is Nozel. I mentioned earlier that their physical contrast is one reason why I began shipping them but also for their personality differences. Nozel is disciplined while Helia is largely unrestrained. She's warm and wears her heart on her sleeve. He's cold and closely guards his feelings. Flora Magic is all about nature while a metal-based attribute like Mercury Magic is a departure from nature. There's a lot about each other that contrast and thus they balance one another out.
15. How does your oc interact with the canon narrative? What about it do they change?
Helia's biggest contribution to the plot is kind of speeding along Noelle and Nozel's reconciliation.
Prior to canon events, Helia would send Nozel letters complimenting him for his accomplishments and generally reaching out in a friendly/flirty way. For the longest time, Nozel never answers. The letters shift tone when Noelle joins the Bulls and Helia promises to keep Nozel updated on what Noelle does. That's when a genuine correspondence happens. Through the letters, Nozel learns about Noelle's efforts and struggles. He begins to regret not being the one to help Noelle grow. And Helia outright says to Nozel in one letter, "It's obvious to me that you care. Why not make it obvious to Noelle, too?" This would definitely be after the capital attack since Nozel can't have an epiphany before then.
With Noelle, Helia acts like the big sister Noelle didn't really get to have back at House Silva. Noelle gets a little jealous seeing Helia and Selen make up so easily which Helia does notice and they talk it out. Helia doesn't say to forgive her siblings right away but suggests that Noelle look for understanding at least. It's that conversation and Helia's support that does help Noelle find to resolve to save their siblings for the sake of family, because she finally understands that they too can be scared and helpless.
Helia also assists in Noelle's romantic endeavors with Asta. She'd make sure they sit together during meals, point out Noelle's amazing qualities to Asta, and generally nudge them together!
16. What aspect(s) of the universe’s lore are they connected to? Do they change/add lore to the universe?
As I said with Selen, the biggest world lore change brought along by Helia's presence is the existence of Tillespire. It's a place that doesn't use magic due to generations of control and propaganda on the peasants and commoners who live there.
17. List/describe up to five tropes that apply to your oc. They could be related to the oc’s characterization or their narrative arc.
-Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Helia has bright blond hair is a sweetheart 99% of the time. -Florence Nightingale Effect: something about seeing Helia heal or being healed by her gets Nozel's heart beating faster. -Green Thumb: her magic is plant-based so of course Helia fits this trope. -She Cleans up Nicely: Helia has no qualms with getting leaves in her hair or walking through mud but her looks when she goes all out to dress is leagues apart from her day-to-day appearance.
18. Imagine meeting your oc. What would you want to say to them or do with them?
Helia is a strong extrovert while I am firmly an introvert. She would be the one dragging me around to socialize and chatting my ear off. I'd probably be exhausted within an hour since I have zero socializing stamina. I'd probably manage to tell her how I admire her optimism. I try to be but sometimes I can get down on myself so the fact that she keeps it up so easily is cool to me.
19. How might your oc react to finding out you are the one responsible for their life?
"Why would you do that to me? To my family?" Helia would be shocked for sure and a little offended. But since I didn't trick her and don't make light of romance, I wouldn't earn her full rage. She'd get pretty moody about it, unsure how to really feel about someone who created her but also gave her a difficult life to overcome. She'd look on the bright side, because at least she has her family by birth and among the Bulls.
20. Share a random piece of trivia about the creation of your oc. Examples: scrapped ideas or changes you didn’t expect to make.
Not Helia specifically but related to her backstory: I initially had the idea of creating an arc set in Tillespire which would involve the Bulls preventing the authorities over Tillespire from kidnapping Asta to abuse the powers of anti-magic.
Also, I might've originally played with the idea of there being fairies, full-blooded fey, on the island of Tillespire which would explain some of Helia's fey-themed spells.

Erika's Next Generation OCs
So I've been having brainrot about next gen ocs. This is partially thanks to @lyranova's Children of the Future series. But also I like to imagine the BC characters having a happy and stable future where building families is possible.
I've shared about the future Nacht x Josele and Nozel x Helia children before but i've got more to share.
I haven't been thinking about the next gen for too long so details are sparse but I hope to build upon the foundations as time goes on. (Maybe if my school work lightens up...)
The children are grouped up by family.
The Faust Family (parents Nacht Faust and Josele Canty [oc]): Sterling, Dawn, Dusk, Sirius, Merel, and Vivian
The Roulacase Family (parents Finral Roulacase and Finesse Calmreich): Caelum and Rapahel
The Adlai Family (parents Gauche Adlai and Grey): Silver and Clara
The Yami Family, Part 1 (parents Yami Sukehiro and Charlotte Roselei): Saki, Ann, and Kenzou

All the questions for Selen
You really like it when I write mini essays about my ocs, don't you? Well not to worry, I can answer for Selen.
..........
1. What inspired you to create your oc?
Honestly, Selen originally started out as a background character in Helia's backstory (which I will be answering at a later time). I didn't really intend for him to be more than someone Helia would be looking and eventually find.
His evolution into a more involved character came up when I decided that Helia would have an elf soul and, as siblings, Selen would have one too, and well, things changed from there.
2. Why does your oc look the way they do? What are your reasons for their appearance?
Selen largely looks the way he does because he's Helia's twin. They're identical in all but sex and their own personal stylings.
Regarding things unique to Selen on his own, his muscular physique is because of his hands-on, melee fighting style (which is influenced by his attribute). He needs to physically train himself to be a decent fighter. And his unruly hairstyle is because I figured, living in the wilderness, he'd be able to get his hands on something sharp enough to cut his hair but nothing more.
3. What is the origin of the character’s name?
Selen's name come Selene, the Greek goddess and personification of the moon. I simply removed the last letter in hopes of giving it a more masculine feel.
4. Why did you give them the name they have? What is the in-universe reason for their name?
The usual dynamic of sun-moon is that the sun is masculine and the moon is feminine, but with Helia and Selen, I chose to invert it. Thus, I gave the male twin the name meaning moon.
In-universe, Helia and Selen's mother is named Estrelle, a corruption of the Latin name Estelle which means "star." Thus, Estrelle wanted to give her twin children names based on the sun and moon, to fit with her. Thankfully, the Nymvire parents have a daughter later on and name her Marine to match their father's name Aqua. It's a family of names that play off one another.
5. What kind of abilities and power level does your oc have? Why did you give them their powers? What’s the in-universe reason?
Tumblr media
Selen has Fauna magic which, in short, is the ability to transform into animals, either in part or entirely. He matches Nozel in terms of mana amount.
Because I gave Helia Flora Magic (essentially plant magic which some seasonal themes thrown in), I decided it would be fitting for her twin to have an opposite/complementary magic attribute. Thus, Fauna (kind of an offshoot of Beast Magic, which become important later). It's different from Beast Magic though since instead of taking on animal traits, Selen just becomes an animal. Put simply, it's a blend of Beast and Transformation Magic.
In-universe, from what we see of Morgen and Nacht and Lilith and Naamah, it seems that twins in the Black Clover world tend to come with opposite magic attributes. Which explains Helia and Selen's attributes. His mana amount is due to several factors: while he was still growing in his mama's belly, she explored strong magic regions and baby Selen absorbed the mana; he was born to a noble family; and he retained some of the mana from being possessed by Vetto.
6. What are the weaknesses in their power? Why did you give them their weaknesses? What’s the in-universe reason?
Selen is stuck as a melee fighter! Pure and simple! His only ranged spells allow him to summon animals to his location (Pack Instincts), or psychically perceive the world through them and speak through them (Animal Relay). Selen cannot fight ranged though. That summoning spell is also his only support spell. He can't impart animal traits onto someone else or heal them. He can only self heal like an axolotl.
I gave Selen this weakness because, it's kind of obvious. What animal has ranged attacks? Spitting cobras can shoot their toxin a fair distance and archer fish shoot water to hunt prey, but it's nothing comparable to the kind of range magic can be cast at in Black Clover. Selen's weakness doesn't come from his lack of creativity but simply the restrictions of his very attribute.
Within the world, Fauna Magic is an animal based Transformation Magic. It's in the magic's nature to be confined to the user, which Selen's summoning and mental link spells being the sole exceptions. Perhaps other types of magic involved with animals have ranged attacks like shooting porcupine quills or sharpened feathers, but Selen's magic specifically cannot be used in such a way.
7. Does your oc have any notable skills or good personality traits? Why did you give them those traits? Why do they exist in-universe?
Selen plays the flute, he's a good whistler, he's flexible, and his senses are pretty sharp even when he's not transformed. Personality wise, he's stupidly loyal to the people he likes and, with time, is someone who readily admits his own faults.
Honestly, Selen's skills came to me arbitrarily. Though, I suppose most do fall in line with some animalistic traits. Whistling like bird calls, flexibility like felines, and senses being heightened compared to humans being all too well known. I chose to make him skilled in playing the flute because it's a departure of who he is. It's soft and elegant in comparison to how rough and awkward he is; also, someone in my family used to play the flute and I guess I kind of miss hearing it. I gave Selen loyalty because it loosely contrasts Helia's flighty affections. And I made him become someone who can admit fault because I just wanted more ocs who would do that, who can be introspective and get other characters to do the same.
His flute training came from his father, a professional musician trained in several instruments. Selen would've picked up whistling because it's a useful way to signal to other people and to animals. When it comes to flexibility, he has to have a strong body to fight well so he would've trained himself so he can be the best fighter he can be.
8. Does your oc have any notable flaws or activities they’re not good at? Why did you give them those flaws? Why do they exist in-universe?
Selen cannot flirt to save his life, at all. The man is also bad at logic puzzles, cooking, choosing fashion, and writing. His worst flaws are his secret keeping and aggression towards basically anyone he doesn't trust.
I want him to be aggressive because most of my other ocs are pretty chill or friendly. Also, I like the contrast of initial hostility then becoming undying loyalty. His secret keeping doesn't apply to big things; more like he keep secrets about embarrassing or petty things. Like having a guilty pleasure book or not understanding a joke everyone else seems to get. And I gave him that trait because I think it's funny, shows how he's not a completely open book, and makes it clear how poorly adjusted he is, being okay with revealing intense stuff but being defensive over unimportant things. As for the things he lacks talent in, I decided to make Selen bad at cooking since most of my ocs are good cooks, logic puzzles and writing because I'm actually good at those, flirting to contrast Helia, and he's got poor fashion simply as a random choice.
As for why he's got these issues in the story, Selen was living as a wanderer and later in the depths of a magic jungle for a while where all the things he's particularly bad at wouldn't be of any use. A lot of skills wouldn't be of use to Selen but after years of not reading or writing to anyone, he'd lose his comprehension/logical thinking and writing composition skills. His handwriting probably sucks on top of it. Since he can be an animal, sometimes he meals were grasses, leaves, and raw meat so when he's going around as a human, he tends to undercook or overcook anything he tries to make. His hostility is the result of a nobleman being offended by the actions of children (himself and Helia as kids) that he tried attacking them and Selen's ability to trust, nobles especially, was ruined. And during his wandering time, he only saw how bad people could get. As for secret keeping, he got so unused to talking to people that he's forgotten how to approach certain topics and thus prefers to just come out with important things, but the little secrets are the ones that end up feeling like something he can't talk about. Like I said, Selen is poorly adjusted.
9. In a group dynamic, what kind of role does the oc usually fill? Are they a worry wart? A troublemaker? The straight man?
Selen, in a group, is kind of like The Big Guy from a Five-Man Band. He's mainly there to be the muscle, not leading and not the one making plans. He can be gruff or sensitive, depending on who he's with (he's gentler with Noelle than he is with Finral or Gauche).
10. What is your favorite trait regarding your oc?
Selen being a bishie man. He's meant to be as pretty, if not prettier, than Helia. And she's meant to be a knockout when it comes to looks. The only joy that is greater than creating a beautiful female character is creating a beautiful male character.
Though last time I created a beautiful male oc, I ended up turning him into a depressed mess trying to maintain a public image he garnered while a child star.
But back to Selen!
11. What is your least favorite trait regarding your oc?
I want him to be able to show affection to the people he cares for easily but I've said he's poorly adjusted so he's stuck sucking at it. He'd see people like Noelle and Luck as younger siblings but he'd be awful at acting like a big brother to him. He'd awkwardly wave and say high to them in the mornings and then be like "um, tell me if you need anything. I want to be of help." He's not sure how to just say "I care for you two and will help you with anything you need."
I want him to be affectionate but I created him in a way where he wouldn't do it well!
12. Which canon characters (if any) do the oc have good relationships with? Why those characters?
Yami. Selen's got a crush on Yami but he also respects Yami's leadership. There's some gratitude from Selen for Yami not blaming him for the things Vetto did. Yami thinks it's funny how Selen tries to be a big brother to the younger squad members but really sucks at it. But it means he has a good heart.
Magna. One of the Bulls Selen has an easier time bonding with. They would race one of Selen's flying forms and Crazy Cyclone. Selen would recognize Magna's creativity with his magic and feel bad about his mana amount issues only for Magna to scorch Selen for being a downer. They like to play fast and loose, keeping it casual.
Luck. Selen is reminded of his wilder kid self by Luck and would allow himself to be the victim to Luck's pranks. I think Luck would want to try his hand at fighting Selen, to see the difference between Selen and Vettor.
Mereoleona. Another person Selen crushes on. Mereoleona would also hammer it into Selen that he can't go judging everyone by status as it's a foolish way to measure someone's character. Mereoleona also appreciates how Selen is actively working with the Knights to make up for hwo his body was used by the enemy. It shows he's not a coward.
13. Which canon characters (if any) do the oc have bad relationships with? Why those characters?
Nozel. The man has a romantic attraction to Selen's sister. Selen is untrusting towards noble. And he's fiercely protective of his loved ones. It's a bad combination that would pit Selen and Nozel against each other. Until Selen sees just how much Helia loves Nozel and how the prince has become a better person. But before then, they're glaring at each other from across the country.
Charmy. The girl would've voiced desires to eat his animals forms which would unsettle him to say the least. Also, Selen's poor cooking abilities would offend her. They accept each other as allies but friendship isn't in the near future for them.
Patry. The man used Forbidden Magic to hijack Selen and countless other people's bodies. Selen not being mad would be a bigger surprise. In my person oc-verse where all my ocs exist and Josele convinces Patry to stay in Clover, Selen wouldn't be happy, threatening to keep an eye out for Patry in case he messes up.
14. Did you give your oc a love interest? Is it another oc or a canon character? Why?
Selen doesn't have any love interests. He's into people who look strong (he's into muscles), have an air of authority to them, and still have a softer side to them. Yami and Mereoleona are his biggest crushes but neither work out.
Honestly, I don't commit to shipping Selen with anyone because I already ship his main love interests with other peoples' ocs. Plus, Selen would be too incompetent to properly put the moves on someone.
15. How does your oc interact with the canon narrative? What about it do they change?
Selen's main change to the narrative is that he replaces Vetto's original host. When the Third Eye appears in that cave and Finral sees Vetto, he immediately recognizes how similar he looks to Helia. Through this, the possession aspect of the Eye of the Midnight Sun's plans get revealed earlier on (as in canon that didn't come up until Fana).
The battle at the Undersea Temple changes a bit due to Vetto's change in attribute. Selen has a spell called Restored Axolotl which allows him to heal himself which is a bit of a slap in the face considering how much the Bulls struggle to damage him in the first place. The biggest change is how Vetto is defeated: Helia gets past Vetto's attacks and talks to Selen until he's able to fight off Vetto's influence. Afterwards, he joins the Black Bulls.
Selen only other major contribution/change to the plos it during the elf reincarnation where he goes after Helia to stop her and he has a run in with the Silva family. It's seeing Selen's efforts to save Helia that compels the Silvas to try a little harder to reconcile with Noelle.
16. What aspect(s) of the universe’s lore are they connected to? Do they change/add lore to the universe?
Selen is one of the elf hosts but he doesn't change anything about how that works.
The biggest change to the universe's lore is something involved with his and Helia's backstory and that's the island of Tillespire. It's a semi-independent dukedom that's still subject to Clover Kingdom's rule. And in a world where magic is everything, Tillspire has banned the use of magic by the common populace. To make a long story short, a duke wanted to establish himself and created propaganda pushing the idea to prove that people can succeed without magic and it did end up working on the peasants and commoners who were brought in to inhabit the island. In the current day, Tillespire still operates without magic but people are sent to live on Tillespire as a punishment, as was the case for the Nymvires.
I need to develop Tillespire more and iron out the details. But overall, it's presence is meant to be an example of how magic doesn't always have to be everything.
17. List/describe up to five tropes that apply to your oc. They could be related to the oc’s characterization or their narrative arc.
-Sibling Yin-Yan: Selen and Helia have complementary traits to one another. She's friendly while he's distrusting. She's dense while he's more keen. And so on. -Close-Range Combatant: like I said earlier, Selen is strictly a melee fighter due to his magic. -Moment Killer: more like of what I'd want to do with Selen but he would try to do this with Nozel and Helia only to repeatedly fail and make things more romantic.
18. Imagine meeting your oc. What would you want to say to them or do with them?
"Hi, you're extremely handsome. You being a feral man is completely valid. Bye."
And I run to my car and speed away as fast as possible. Yeah, I'm making a getaway in my car because my squishy body would faint after a ten second sprint.
19. How might your oc react to finding out you are the one responsible for their life?
Goodbye world. Selen would attack me without hesitation. If I'm the reason why his family lost their status and got banished from the mainland, and why both he and Helia got possessed, and why Helia falls in love with Nozel, let's just say I'm not seeing the light of day after meeting him.
20. Share a random piece of trivia about the creation of your oc. Examples: scrapped ideas or changes you didn’t expect to make.
He wasn't supposed to be replace Vetto's original host but I decided to be lazy and not create a whole new elf while also being a genius and making Selen Vetto's host for the drama.

GUYS!
I finally got my hands on Nozel's grimoire!
I might've spiked Nozel's punch to get him to drop his guard. Maybe a few Magic Knights got punched in the face during the escape. I've probably also been blacklisted from the palace but I have it!
It's so pretty and amazing!
Time to see what's inside!
