On days like today, where I feel like crap and want nothing but to sleep my day away, I look at this dog and remember I'm not nearly alone as I think I am. Animals have this amazing ability to make humans feel better just by the simplist things. He is excited when I come home and jumps up and kisses my face everyday. He lays his head on my pillow next to me when I sleep, and he dotes on me and makes me play and take longer walks than I would like. But he knows what I need, because I always feel better afterward. God bless this animal for entering my life when he did. I wouldn't take him any other way. All his quirks and problems, make him my perfect man. A short story about my ball... ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️ April 29th started off as a pretty shitty day for me. Found out I took a $1k+ loss first thing that morning and it was pretty much downhill from there. I had pepped up a little by the time Mister and I left for the #Braves game, but he ended up catching a 'tude which negatively impacted what is usually a pretty good time. As we sat in silence for most of the #Braves subsequent victory over the Padres, the most wonderful thing happened. Right as the 9th inning was starting, our right fielder, Nick Markakis (who I LOVINGLY refer to as Mar-KICK-ASS) threw his "warm up/long toss" ball directly to me! 😰 And I caught it!!! 😱😀 Turned my entire night around lol! Aside from the fact that I NEVER catch ANYTHING, not even hints most times, the fact that the ball came straight to me made me feel quite special. That, and the fellas around me telling me how awesome I was for catching...well, everybody except my hating ass husband, but I digress. As insignificant as it may sound, it's a damn big deal to me. I received something everybody wanted. I. Me. Caught it. With no glove! It's mine. Instantly turned my frown upside down. Even though it's an unsigned, "warm up" ball, I will cherish it just as much as my FIRST PLACE FANBEAT TRIVIA PRIZE Kurt Suzuki autographed spring training ball. My dude spoiled my puppy and myself today. Got to go to Petco, Bed Bath & Beyond, 5th Ave Mall and lunch at Flattop Bar & Pool. Took an amazing stroll downtown, my puppy behaved while we were gone. The most amazing thing about today is the way he takes care of me when I'm at my worse.
