Even MORE redesigns haha. First up is Heatherstar, I never really liked her original design lol. I wasn't feeling super inspired and just had a hard time trying to find markings for her, so I kinda just slapped something down, called it a day, and made a note to redesign her sometime in the future. Which is now! Next is Breezepelt, his old design was just ugly lmao. Same with Sootfur, who is with his brother Rainwhisker. I didn't really mind Rainwhisker's fluff, but I think I like it more toned down like this. And then are Lightleap and Shadowsight! Can't really think of too much to say for them, glad the heart on Shadowsight's chest made a comeback, I kinda forgot I did that lmao.

For her physical description, Heatherstar is described as a small she-cat with a thick, sleek pelt. I went with a small oriental look for her, with a thick short-medium pelt. Her build was a lot of fun to draw. :D

For her pattern, Heatherstar is described as a pale pinkish-gray she-cat with blue eyes. This part was especially fun. I looked at different real cat colorations before settling on a lilac point as the most pink-gray looking coloration that would make sense for Heatherstar. I think it looks great on her, and fits really well for a cat described as pinkish-gray.

Overall, I'm really really happy with how she turned out. :D

What do Runningflight and Onewhisker think of Heatherstep?

It’s… complicated.

On one paw, she was their mother. Maybe not through blood, but she was their guardian; she loved them fiercely, claimed them as her own within a culture that values blood above all, and expressed gentle, genuine pride in them and their actions as they grew. But… she was only alive and with them for a terribly short time, barely even long enough for them to grow old enough for their training to take them outside of their camp.

Runningflight views Heatherstep as his mother, but his memories of her are vague and blurred through time. Since Onewhisker cut all ties to Runningflight and his family, it would have made the most sense for him to also cut out Heatherstep… but he was a momma’s boy, for however little time she stuck around, and even into his adulthood he still asks for other’s memories of her in an attempt to feel her presence and pride with him once more.
