The mind seeks that which imbalances it.The body craves what balances it. ⚖️ For example - Our mind likes what further exaggerates it's condition. If the mind is stressed it will continue to be attracted to stressful situations. When the mind is in Rajas (movement) it will be attracted to more movement. To more stimulation. 💥 (remember MSN messenger? Then Facebook, then Instagram and now tic tok- it keeps getting faster and more intense because the minds are desiring this) Have you ever found when you are stressed or overwhelmed you keep reaching to your phone to stroll? Have you ever craved alcohol when you were stressed to take the edge off? That's the mind in Rajas. When its caught in the loop of restlessness. When our mind is dull or depressed, its in the state of Tamas. It craves sweets, inertia and low vibe movies or media, negative conversations etc. Its dull and depressed. 😶‍🌫️ Our ideal mental state is sattva. When our mind is balanced, connected to our higher self. We gain this state through meditation, controlling the senses and increasing our consciousness. 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️ Our body craves that which balances it. When we are cold we crave warming, oily foods. When we are hot we crave cooling foods. When we are tired we crave sleep. The key is to know who is in charge. Who is craving. Is it our mind or our body? The mind can hijack the body with its cravings. 🐙 How do we know? By meditation, by developing awareness and listening to our body. When we meditate we hear the demands of the mind but we don't react. We watch. Then we can have discrimination and know what is what.
