One of the most frequent dream plots I have is desperately needing to use the bathroom but either being unable to find one or finding one that I can't use for various reasons.

A lot of the time, my dream-self ends up finding a public restroom, but the walls are made of glass. Other times, the doors don't lock, and people keep barging in on me. A few months back, the dream involved a bathroom that was just an empty room with no toilet. Very stressful.

Last night, I had another one of these dreams, but instead of frantically running around in search of a restroom, it took place in my own house, so the bathroom was there and free to use. Improvement, right? Wrong. When I went inside, I discovered there was a group of school children having a field trip in my bathtub.

Last night I had a dream that I was at a job interview. We were in a very small room, about 8x8 feet. The walls were painted a shade of off-white that was nearly yellow – like walls that had been stained by cigarette smoke over time. The only objects in the room were the hiring manager's desk, his laptop, his chair, and my chair.

I was interviewing for a graphic design position. This guy had only seen memes that I've made and wanted "the most bullshit looking program possible."

He asks me a lot of questions, but they seem to be more random as time goes on. How long have I worked in graphic design? Never have, the last classes I took was when I was like 12. How long have I been using photoshop? Since I was 8. How many people did I sleep with in my best friend's attic? 6.

Once he's done asking me questions, he beckons me over to his side of the desk and shows me his laptop screen. "So this is what you'll be doing." He grabs the back of my head with his hand and shoves my face into the screen. An intense video of instructions on how to build the Company Minecraft World is playing. "LEARN IT! LEARN IT! ARE YOU LEARNING IT? LEARN IT!"

i always found both of these moments kind of devastating, probably because the idea of my friends secretly seeing me as some kind of child or burden or annoyance is like one of my worst nightmares. how do you think papyrus would have felt if he was still hanging out outside listening? i think that learning that undyne sees him that way would be really painful for him. someone he respects so much just doesn’t really reciprocate. despite how close papyrus is to her, she keeps on tucking his bone presents away in that drawer. she’s not honest with him

in noelle's case, i do get that her frustration is valid- berdly is kind of a shitty friend, and he ruined the mood. but it still kind of hurts, knowing how hard he always tries to be a good friend to her. his attempts to help always ending of being a burden, and he eventually comes to know that quite deeply. or perhaps he always knew but never wanted to admit it to himself

it just really hits hard for me when i see characters who have few friends, and the friends that they do have aren’t honest with them. shit hurts

I wanna make a persona so badly because of your sona now- any tips?

okay first off

YES!!! holy shit i am so happy about this. making a persona is a ton of fun, and it's really relaxing to draw especially when you need a quick pick-me-up, and i'm honored you'd ask me for advice.

honestly my best tip (and what i did with my own) is to know that you can, and should, add and remove things whenever you want. my persona started off with a different mask shape, no strap to the mask, no captain's uniform, and slightly lighter colors; it's pretty funny to look back on actually. as time went on i incorporated aspects of things i enjoyed (deeper color schemes, dramatic lighting, my interpretation of a space captain uniform) until i got what i use now. and i'm positive i'm not done—more will change about my persona as time goes on. i've been thinking about adding little badges to the uniform to represent fandoms and works i enjoy. i've even been cobbling together a little bit of lore, half as a joke and half just bc i wanted to.

a good starting point is to focus on what you want to portray about yourself, what you find fun to draw, etc. make your persona something you can look at and say "yeah, this represents a part of me", even if that's more in spirit. feel like you enjoy the vibe of an object head? go for it! wanna be an amorphous blob? great! wanna be a giant robot? cool as hell! just some dude in a coat? perfection!

(for practicalities sake i'd also say to make your persona something you can draw comfortably/easily without a lot of redos. always great to have something to doodle lazily in the margins.)
