And we’re back to listening/reviewing BLCDs. I took a little fall back in June and since there wasn’t really that much of a swelling to them, I kept on working them until I could no more. I initially just chucked the pain up to me having improper form while lifting weights, but turns out that it’s just another thing that aggravated the problem. Boy, was our gp livid. 😂 See y’all in real time after I become the Master of the Mystic Arts. 👋

Anyway, onto the review!

My face while listening/reading this:

Can’t believe I did that for Itou Kento.

I honestly don’t have any idea why this work became so popular in the first place. There’s really nothing special about it (it’s just a poor man’s Nozomu Bekumonai), and the only good character here is literally Tsukasa. What the fuck? And I’m also sorry to say this, but why do the characters look like a bootleg Kise x Akamatsu with Illumi as Akamatsu’s bro??? I take that back, yo boy Kouta straight up be looking like an Akashi Seijuuro motherfucker with those sideburns.

WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT ART STYLES FOR THESE CHARACTERS I DON’T UNDERSTAND.

Anyway, I really think that Haruto teasing and making Kouta cry that first bit was too shady and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Like, what the fuck??? Why would you do that??? What is this? 2009?! That’s a big red flag right there! Haruto’s feelings also feel so shallow that I think it would have been better for Kouta’s sake that didn’t go into a relationship that quickly. Y’all he was dating girls for so long and when did he even notice Kouta’s feelings for him and why did he suddenly think that being a relationship with Kouta would be nice? REAL QUICK??? Although he has confessed that he does love Kouta by the end of volume one, there really hasn’t been an in depth look at them. As for Kouta, he’s wayyyy too obvious. Everyone in that manga probably knows that he has a crush on Haruto. *sigh* Why can’t they just make a story about Tsukasa? I’ll be on board with that!

Moving on to the voice work,

Yo, it’s been half a year ever since I’ve heard Yashiro Taku in a BLCD last and that was an uke role in Sugar Dekoboko Days. The last time I’ve heard him top was in 2018! 😂 His voice was a little higher here than his natural pitch, but it suited him well. It was very smooth and clear. This is considerably better than his performance in MODS. Kinda reminds me of how Saitou Souma did Hiro in Akai Ito, which is weird because his natural voice is deeper. I would love to hear him in this pitch more, but so far, this is the only one of his works as a top that is in my list. See you when I get my hands on Tadaima Okairi, boy.

As for Itou Kento, I’m not sure what I was expecting when I decided to listen to this because I like Itou Kento as a seme more than this. He did pretty well, though, but I think I still like him as a seme (stay tuned for the next BLCD on this list where he’s also doing an uke role).

I can’t believe they got Furukawa Makoto to voice a side character here. 😂 This is my first taste of Makonyan for 2020, and I’m glad that he’s doing quite well already. See you in Kimitte Yatsu. 👋

What a waste of cast. 😂 It’s not risque, but it’s generic af and it gives off bad vibes. Y’all I tried listening to Double Standard before this and I just COULDN’T.😩 There’s so many other works that deserve an adaptation! Come on, Cue Egg Label! How’d we get from Lala no Kekkon and Caste Heaven to this? Shame. My personal feelings aside, if you’re a fan of this series, I would recommend listening to this because there aren’t that many changes in dialogue and it’s nicely voiced. There are some adlibs which are understandable, but they’re not too important to be considered a challenge.

Meet the love children!

16 ultimate students, each with well known parents, meet them here!

Natsuki Nanami- son of Chiaki Nanami and Ryoma Hoshi. He is the ultimate Football star, and has a kind, caring, selfless personality.

Taniko Hoshi- Taniko is the daughter of Ryoma and Chiaki. She is the ultimate game devolper, and is Natsuki's younger, yet brighter sister. She is shy, but really friendly, although she thinks lowly of herself.

Chouko + Itsuki Tanaka- Chouko and Itsuki are male identical twins of Gonta and Gundam. Chouko is the ultimate Animal Whisperer, and Itsuki is the ultimate Animal caretaker. Both are loud, yet very helpful, strong males.

Miko Oogami- Miko is Aoi and Sakuras eldest son, and he is the ultimate diver. He is loud, yet kind and charming.

Sato Oogami- Sato is also sakura and aois son, but he younger, bolder, and more protective. He is the ultimate body guard.

Himaro Saihara- shy, yet kind and friendly, Himaro is the daughter of Shuichi and Kokichi, and is the ultimate forensic scientist.

Koharu Ouma- the ultimate manipulator, Koharu is Himaro's elder brother, he is a big liar, and is very untrustworthy.

Mei Toujou- Mei is a charming, selfless young man, and he is known as the ultimate butler. He is Kirumi and Kaede's son.

Nanami Akamatsu- Kaede and Kirumi's daughter, Nanami is a leader like, friendly, slightly bossy ultimate violinist.

Riku Shinguji- Obsessive and unapproachable, Riku is the dangerous son of Rantaro and Korekiyo, and is the ultimate biologist.

Sora Shinguji- the more friendly, curious one of the shinguuji family, Sora is the ultimate Hiker, and Riku's younger brother.

Hoshiko fukawa- shy, yet friendly Ultimate Author, Hoshiko is Komaru and Touko's eldest daughter, and the more upbeat one.

Haruto Naegi- The ultimate hope is he, a kind, leaderlike, selfless boy he is. He is Komaru and Touko's youngest, and the one with split personality, his other personality whom he calls 'Despairing Haturo'.

Taekio Hinata- a young, charming woman, Taekio is Hajime and Nagito's youngest daughter. She is kind, selfless, and sometimes self hating, and is the ultimate???.

Kami Komaeda- a shy, self hating, selfless ultimate Luck bringer, Kami thinks she is absolute trash, and is Hajime and Nagito's Eldest daughter.

I don't have designs for them as of yet, and I can't draw lmao, but you can ask them any question you want, have fun!

29✍ Uh, I have no idea how to write imagines or head cannons, but here’s an excerpt from my (incomplete) short story about Dyna and Haru:

"Hey there, partner!"

"You sound like a wannabe American cowboy."

Dyna continued walking with a stoic expression, not bothering to stop for Haruto. Not that she had to, he'd bounce or skip or slide or who knows what else up to her regardless and once he caught up, there was little she could do to get rid of him.

I could always bind him to me, Dyna thought. She would never though, and she knew it. But it was amusing to think of. Haruto skipped up to her and was now bouncing by her side with a huge grin on his face, his brown hair jolting a little with each step. It was hard to believe this peppy fluffball slaughtered Wandering Daemons and fought Flickerings. If it weren't for his relationship- if you could call it that- with Dyna and his official uniform, no one would believe he was a Royal Guard. But then, thought Dyna, running her gloved fingers along the hilt of her rapier, no one would believe the truth about the Cubare.

"Hey, Dyn-"

"It's RYG Kobe, Amemori. Our partnership doesn't mean you can drop the honorifics," Dyna interjected coolly. "It's been months since we became partners. You should know this by now."

Haruto cocked his head to the side and squinted at Dyna for a moment, before grinning.

"Alright then, Kobe," he drawled. "We have to report to Himeji, Precinct 4. Some Class 4 Horsemen of John have moved in. There aren't too many people there, but that's going to be a bit of a problem. They're spread out over a specific area and don't have very good defenses. Most citizens have resorted to hiding in the invasion shelters."

Dyna quirked an eyebrow and glanced at him. "Why are we reporting? Not that I mind. But that sounds like a job for the PBG."

"Because," said Haruto with a grin, "The princess will be visiting the citizens later, so we need to clear the area."

"Amemori, spit it out. If it were as simple as that, the PBG would've taken care of it and we would've merely escorted Princess Seiko," Dyna deadpanned. "So tell me, why are we heading out there?"

Haruto paused, still grinning. "Because your PBG friend, the White Status one- Akamatsu, right?- is leading the defense and specially requested you and PVG Sato to come along."

Dyna stopped abruptly and snapped her head toward him, glaring. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? What does Myra need me and Kikyo for?"

"She didn't say," he replied. "She just wants us there."

"Damn, what's happened now?" Dyna muttered under her breath, and with great strides briskly hurried toward the exit.

"Hey, wait up! I'm coming too!" called out Haruto, and hurried to catch up to her.

Yeah, that's a good question. I get why my family's involved, I get why your mom's side is, but how's your dad's side fit into everything?

That's the funny part. When I told my grandmother about your family, she got excited.

Our grandparents were friends in high school.

Wait, seriously?! No way!

It's true. She said they were really close, and even used to go on double dates.

I don't know if they're still friends in 2013, though.

What do they do in that time?

Lemme think, umm....right. Grandma Asuna's a vet and Grandpa Haruka's a nurse. I'm not sure where they used to work, but I'm sure they'll figure it out.

I actually have a friend who's in a similar situation.

Naoko-chan...her birth mother is Shingetsu Mai. She asked us not to do anything about her until she's born in July 2013. Naoko-chan hates that woman and wants her stopped, but she's also really scared if we do anything before then, she might not exist...

I understand.

But I believe, if we play our cards right, everything will work out for the best. For my family, hers and yours.
