I got really into House and I was perfectly prepared to have a very frustrating experience being queer baited and generally ship baited (even the straight ships never pan out) but I was not prepared to how generally bad season 2 is. The thing with Stacy is not just baiting, it's sloppily done. I kinda liked Stacy because she's somewhere on the Wilson-House morally grey spectrum, but her romance with House just doesn't go anywhere, for no reason. They could have invested a little more in it, you know? And I don't know why they abandoned it so quickly but I suspect it was a mix of stupid reasons like "we don't want to make House have an actual secret affair" and "the audience is not super into this ship")

And then they make House "jokingly" be extra racist for no reason and then they make this episode in which he is incredibly horrible towards an intersex girl (like a much more explicit level of bigotry than usual), and then next episode they start us heavily on the hilson shipping. To the point it seems a bit desperate, like "ok we tried a het ship and it wasn't great, let's invest all we have on this gay ship". It's like this season is throwing everything on the wall to see what sticks, and it sucks. I wish I wasn't so obsessed with this series, because I'm not sure I'm enjoying it. The medical plots are boring (unlike the first season where there were several interesting plots), the work relations are messy, and nothing is given enough spotlight. I'm annoyed.

Does it get any better? I don't think so. Will I keep watching? Probably because I have no self control.
