THE LITTLE MOLE UNDER YOUR EYE

genre. fluff. maybe a lil hurt/comfort but more comfort than hurt. warnings. gye is rly tired. some kissing. reader gives gye a bath but nothing sexual. pairing. gyehyeon x reader. wc. 689. a/n. requested by @wheeboo i'm so :( over him help me :(

You already knew your boyfriend would be exhausted when he came home. You peeked at his schedule for the day when you first woke up and even you felt tired just looking at it. It was all back to back stage rehearsals for Verivery’s upcoming comeback, as well as choreography practices and a few interviews squeezed in somehow. The entire day was booked so full that the members barely had time to eat between schedules.

You waited up for when Gyehyeon would get home, which he did eventually at around 2 am. You were also starting to get tired from your own work that day, but you fought the sleepiness until he arrived. For 1, you wanted to be there to help him relax; and, for 2, you knew you wouldn’t be able to sleep soundly without him anyway.

You heard the front door push open soon after the clock struck 2. There was some rustling that you could just make out of Gyehyeon taking off his shoes and hanging up his coat. It didn’t take long for him to appear in the doorway, the true extent of his tiredness evident just from one look at his face.

You put down your phone and patted the spot on the bed next to you. He smiled, (as much as he could when the exhaustion was almost overwhelming), and plopped down onto the bed. He lay on his back and scooted until his head rested on your thigh, his eyes fluttering closed as a soft breath escaped his mouth.

“You should take a shower before you sleep. Or maybe a bath?” You suggested quietly, your hand gently pressing onto his forehead just to make sure it was the proper temperature. He groaned softly in acknowledgement.

“Do you want me to run a bath for you? I’ll get it to the temperature you like.” You offered, your hand now gently ruffling through his hair.

“A couple more minutes, please?” He whispered, burying his head closer to you. He stayed on your lap for a while longer, almost falling asleep before you had to urge him to go take the bath. You filled up the tub with warm water, and helped a tired Gyehyeon into it.

You didn’t mind washing his hair for him, and it also allowed you to give him a small head massage. He sighed in content as you carefully worked the shampoo through the strands of hair. He didn’t stay in the bath too long, as both of you wanted to get to sleep.

Once you were both changed into pyjamas, you both finally slipped under the covers, welcoming the warmth of the blankets against your skin. Gyehyeon curled up into you, soaking in the heat that your body radiated, and you cradled his head which was laid on your chest.

“I’m proud of you, baby.” You reminded him with a kiss to the top of his head.

“Thank you.” His voice was soft, as he was already falling asleep quickly.

You cupped his cheek and savoured the way his lips automatically curled upwards in response to your touch. Your thumb stroked across his cheek before reaching a little higher— to the little mole under his right eye. You brushed over it gently as well. Every feature on Gyehyeon’s face was precious to you; from his soft eyes, to his round nose and plush lips. But the little mole was especially precious. It was your favourite feature.

You pressed a delicate kiss on the little mark, which made Gyehyeon smile again. He leaned forward as well until his lips met yours. It was gentle, given that you were both tired and didn’t have much energy to put into it, but it was enough either way. It didn’t matter how much effort either of you put in because you both knew that you loved each other, and that you’d never stop.

It was only after the final goodnight kiss that Gyehyeon allowed himself to finally slip into the long awaited sleep that he had anticipated all day. He slept quite peacefully, curled up in your arms like a little kitten.
