SIGH. Here's older Fern ideas bc I'm hyperfixated on adventure time now
Honestly, I might be able to make an entire comic atp on how Fern eventually gets Finn to be less "forget the past" and learn to grieve and deal with his issues without pretending it doesn't exist. Or how Fern lost his arm or learns to accept the demon literally keeping his arm alive. Maybe even how him and the grass wizard get along after years of resentment. Or how he got the ability to drink and finally, felt like himself without piggybacking Finn himself.
(If anybody has some concepts or needs tweaking on the concept I'm OPEN)
fern having been the original finn never fails to fuck me up- like bro got turned into a sword to save prismo, was forced to kill innocents, got broken(?) got tortured and wrapped up by the cursed grass octopus thing, and then effectively had to live as a version of himself who couldn’t eat or breathe, and was ostracized as not “being finn” by what was in reality a copy. fuck man, fern deserved better and i highkey hope he’s still in the finn sword that shermy gets
Finn bought the Grass Sword from a wizard for $3, but later finds that it is cursed. It attempts to fuse itself with Finn’s arm, and comes back to him whenever he throws it away. Once Finn accepts the curse, he is able to control the sword and wear it as a bracelet. The sword can also regenerate if cut, and can turn parts of Finn’s body into grass when necessary.
The Transistor
From: Transistor
Wielder: Red
The Transistor is a sword that acts as a tool to control and shape Cloudbank (city). The Transistor can shape reality around it, acting as a sort of Task Manager for the game’s world. The way that it does this is through the use of the Process, a legion of robots that directly shape and reconstruct the city. Normally the wielder–or User–of the Transistor would be able to control the Process, but due to Shenanigans at the beginning of the game, Red is unable to control the Process and instead must defeat these robots in combat. Additionally, the Transistor can also absorb the souls of others and use them to unlock combat abilities. Due to further Shenanigans, Red’s boyfriend, Unknown, also gets trapped within the sword, and communicates with Red throughout the game as she wields it.
A friend released a demo of his game called Mushroom Kid's Big Grass Sword on Steam and I drew fan art of it. Definitely check it out when you get the chance.

Tessaiga
From: Inuyasha
Wielder: Inuyasha
Tessaiga was made from the fang of the Great Dog Demon. It is said to be able to kill hundreds of demons in a single strike. It can also absorb and make use of demonic power, and send people to the afterlife. It seems to possess a will of its own, and has been seen guiding Inuyasha on occasion.
