Dragon Ball Super Manga ch. 27-29
Tumblr media
“Welp, this tournament of power’s not gonna instigate itself!”
Tumblr media
I’ve been impressed with Toyotaro’s leaner, meaner versions of the Universe 6 and Zamasu sagas, so I was hoping he would work the same magic on the build-up to the Tournament of Power.  Unfortunately, I’m a bit disappointed.  I think Episodes 68-96 anime took way too long to get there, but Chapters 27-32 of the manga seem to go too quickly.  I guess that shouldn’t surprise me, as there’s a lot of middle ground between 29 anime episodes and six manga chapters.
So you know the drill.  I’m going to highlight stuff that the manga did differently, starting with this Beerus/Vegeta rematch that happens right before Goku goes to Beerus’ planet and reminds Zeno of the tournament he promised.
Tumblr media
This always struck me as a plot dangler from the anime, because we see Goku and Vegeta get a lot stronger over the course of DBS, and yet we never find out if they‘ve improved enough to match Beerus.  Sure, Beerus clobbered them both in Battle of Gods, but now they know how to do Super Saiyan Blue.  Well, in this chapter, Beerus scoffs at the idea that the Saiyans will ever be his rivals, and the Oracle Fish insists that it’s true, so he challenges Vegeta to see what progress he’s made.
Tumblr media
And the answer is “not enough”, though Vegeta does a lot better than he did the last time he fought Beerus, so there’s no shame in it.
Of course, this doesn’t take into account Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken level, but that doesn’t exist in the manga.  Instead we have this “Completed” Super Saiyan Blue form, where Goku learned how to perfect the transformation.  Vegeta reveals he can do the same thing in this chapter, but it’s still not enough.
Tumblr media
We also get this scene in Grand Zenos’ Palace where they discuss the problem of too many universes before Goku arrives.  The Zenos are playing some sort of game involving the universes, and they each note how there’s too many of them, and since the mortals aren’t developing much in most of the universes, there’s little point in observing them all.  So they contemplate erasing eight universes, and that’s when Goku shows up to talk about the tournament.
Tumblr media
So we get a bunch of scenes where the gods are summoned to Zeno’s palace for the announcement.  In particular, I’m confused by this one of Sidra and Roh discussing the destruction of a planet.  Unlike Beerus, Sidrah seems to take the job very seriously, and he carefully calculates the pros and cons of his decision before acting. Also, Roh seems very interested in the process.   This would be weird enough, but in the anime, these two are shown to be a lot more craven and opportunistic.  So I’m not sure what to take from this.
Tumblr media
At the palace, the Grand Minister asks about the extra guy in the Universe 11 contingent, and Belmod introduces Toppo as his apprentice, as he plans to retire soon.  In the anime, Toppo is introduced as Khai’s bodyguard, and I’m pretty sure the “Candidate God of Destruction” thing will get brought up later, but it’s strange that they didn’t explain it in his debut.
I guess I’ll talk about it here, since this seems to be the first time it gets brought up.  Beerus and Whis have hinted at the idea of Goku or Vegeta training to take Beerus’ place someday, but the Saiyans don’t seem interested in the job, so it never goes anywhere.  With Toppo, we have confirmation that mortals can be promoted to the rank of Hakaishin, which implies that Belmod and all the other Destroyers were once mortals themselves.
Tumblr media
So the Grand Minister announces the Tournament, but the Zeno from the destroyed timeline doesn’t know what a martial arts match is like, so we get the Zeno Expo.  But in this version, it’s a battle royale of all the Destroyers.
Tumblr media
It starts out as an 11-on-1 fight against Beerus, partly because they blame him for Goku getting them into this mess, and also they’re still sore at him for the trouble he caused long ago.  According to Whis, Zeno held a hide-and-seek tournament, and Beerus fell asleep during it and ruined the whole thing.  The others managed to calm Zeno down, but they’ve resented Beerus for it ever since.
Tumblr media
But Beerus does surprisingly well, and soon enough, the other Destroyers begin to turn on one another in an effort to win.
Tumblr media
Oh, and here’s this bonus comic where Trunks decides to return to his own timeline, or at least an altered version of it.  This doesn’t make a lot of sense, given how this was Whis’ idea, and Trunks wouldn’t have considered this on his own.
Tumblr media
Back to the rumble, a bunch of stuff happens, and it’s hard to keep track of any of it, which is probably by design, since not even the Zenos can follow any of this.
Tumblr media
So the Grand Minister calls off the match and disqualifies everyone.  Zeno nearly abandons the Tournament idea altogether, when Goku asks him to give it another chance, since mortal battles won’t be anything like that.
Tumblr media
Fortunately, there’s a mortal in the house who can face off with Goku, and this gives the Zenos a chance to road test some new rules.  No weapons, no killing, and no flying.  Apparently these are all for the sake of making the action more fun for the Zenos to watch.  I don’t get the no-flying thing, but the Tournament of Power was a great time, so I guess the Zenos know what they’re doing.   I mean, you don’t become the Kings of Everything without knowing a thing or two.
Tumblr media
Goku transforms, which excites the Zenos, so they want to see all of Goku’s transformations.  He goes to Super Saiyan 2, which is always a treat to see, but the Zenos aren’t thrilled with this one, so Goku has to go to Super Saiyan 3 right away.  Look, Zenos, you may be all powerful, but Super Saiyan 2 Goku kicks ass.  Maybe you’ll understand when you’re older.
Tumblr media
Soon enough Goku ramps up to Super Saiyan God, and all the Destroyers are impressed to see him fighting at that level.  Wait, if they’re fighting at the same level, then how is this any easier for the Zenos to follow?
Tumblr media
Goku tries to polish Toppo off by turning Super Saiyan Blue, but Toppo takes him to Dick Kick City first, and wins the match by ring-out.
Tumblr media
So yeah, Toppo wins clean.  How about that?

Oooh sorry, but I'm now really curious in your headcanons, how and when (name) and Daishinkan showed interest and attraction to each other and at what point did they decide to get married?
At first they only talked to each other and when they did it was only really about food (of course) or what it was like to serve the Omi kings. They would only see each other when Whis invited Daishikan and the Zenos to bulma’s party.
Then whis and bulma saw how both Daishikan and (name) enjoyed each other’s company so whis kinda gave daishikan the idea to use a device to keep in touch with (name).
Daishikan gave (name) a device so they can keep in touch and wouldn’t have to wait until another one of bulma’s party’s to talk. So they continued to talk and (name) would invite daishikan to have some tea whenever they both had the time. Eventually daishikan and (name) started to have feelings for each other and everyone around the two could see that they were both head over heels for each other.
After a year of crushing on each other (name) decided to take the risk of asking Daishikan out. Of course daishikan said yes cause he had the same feelings. (Name) and Daishikan dated for awhile (about 8 years) and Daishikan finally felt that it was time to ask (name) to be his wife. He was very romantic with it, he took (name) to her favorite restaurant then after brought her to a beautiful garden with all of (name) flowers and asked her to marry him there.

At first, I made a quick pencil drawing of Grand Priest, before I colored it digitally. I wanted to try the watercolor option in Paint Tool SAI, to see how it works when coloring something...
"myhä" comes from the Finnish word "myhäillä", which basically means chuckling. Here, in the translated manga, they often shorten that word to 'myhä'. (I don't know why. Maybe because the original world is too long...?)

AU that's been in my brain every once in a while that I know I sure as hell won't be doing myself anytime soon, if I do it at all-
AU where the grand inquisitor and minister tua lived and switched allegiances.
No I don't have indepth details, but I have random thoughts (I lied there's more here than I thought there'd be)
(I'm most probably going to throw this over on to Ao3 as a concept fic)
---
Tua stays in hiding for nearly a year, moving from refugee camp to refugee camp. She has to pull her weight, help build community. Something about it gives her something to almost strive for, it's something more. She realizes she has a lot more skills than having just been a public face, once upon a time.
Something happens where she's not at the camp, but elsewhere. Possibly receiving information on where the next round of supplies will be coming from for the camp. She comes face to face with Kallus and feels the same terror she did back when she was fleeing the Empire. She knows Kallus recognizes her, maybe he's here to bring her back to the empire for the charge of treason. If she runs back to the settlement, she would only be putting those who've helped her in danger. Nearly a year ago, she wouldn't have thought twice about it. But now she's frozen, eyes locked with kallus. However, Kallus turns a blind eye to her, acting as though she weren't even there. As if she hadn't run off with valuable information of the empire to give to the rebels inexchange for her own life. As if she weren't someone he's obligated to capturing.
Something about it is rattling. She isn't sure if he's playing a game to get her to lead him back to the settlement or if he thinks she's part of a rebel cell. Either way, she stays away from the camp for a while. Going from place to place, again, but some how ending up in a pattern of following Kallus. Seeing... differences. This is not the same man who she worked alongside and ran from on Lothal. Similarities are there, but the differences...
Tua has never been bold. She knows that. She used to admire Kallus’s boldness. She envies it. The first true act of boldness she takes is approaching him when she sees him again, alone.
There's many questions she has, but the moment she steps up to him, stopping him from whatever it is he's doing, it all dissipates from her tongue.
"Are you trying to get yourself caught, Tua?" The agent's brow twitches, looking around to make sure there's no eyes on them.
"If..." Tua takes a shaky breath, reassuring herself, "if you intended on that, you would've done so weeks ago. That's been..." whatever these differences are, they've been grating against her. "Your loyalty. It isn't the same."
Kallus looks away from her, returning to organizing items in a create. Imperial equipment. "I don't know what you're talking about."
*Lies.* "don't give me that," Tua hisses. She may not be bold, she may be a coward, but she is not unobservant. "I may not know why, or what you're doing, but whatever it is, it isn't for the empire anymore."
"Tua, run back off to wherever it is you came from. We are strangers. You are a citizen I do not recognize."
"No."
Kallus looks at her in shock. He must be just as surprised about how different she is as she is about him. But her boldness is new. And probably temporary. So she has to push on before she loses her resolve.
"You're right. We are strangers. Because the man I worked alongside would have chased after a traitor without hesitation. The man I worked alongside was undoubtedly loyal to his empire. Unwavering. Bold. No minor task was below him. 'All leads must be pursued.' You said that more times than I could keep track of." Tua thought that her boldness would've started to disperse, but... it's the opposite. It's only built itself up and it's absolutely *electrifying*.
"The woman I worked alongside had never once been this bold." There's something almost... friendly about the comment.
"The man I worked alongside had never said something with so much warmth." Something has undoubtedly changed him. "Who are you?" She whispers, making sure only they can hear, "because it surely isn't Agent."
A tension in his shoulders slides off. "You're right. It's not agent anymore, but I can't tell you anything more."
Tua looks back down to the equipment. All of it valuable and unquestionably stolen. "You're graciously delivering food and water to a citizen that is going to distribute it to those who need it." She looks back up to him, wanting to help. "Just tell me where and I'll make sure it's delivered."
Kallus blinks at her. Then he huff a smile. The man she worked alongside never gave a single smile that wasn't arrogant. Something or someone rattled this man to his very core. "Yes, of course. I do charity work to promote morale in the name of the empire."
Kallus tells her a location and she asks him for another time and place. More she could do. He tells her that if she goes with the person she meets, she can do more there and that she isn't to mention him at all.
"Oh, and Maketh?"
She nearly drops the lid of the crate. Kallus catches the lid and secures it.
"The day you defected from the empire. I'm sorry for nearly killing you."
Tua shakes her head with a smile. "The man I worked alongside never apologized a day in his life." She straightens her posture and gives him a nod. "But to the one before me, the one what I never had this conversation with, I would say that those days of 'its not personal' are behind us. He could make it up to me by one day telling me the story of how he got here." Whatever he's doing is dangerous. Takes a courage that even now, Tua knows she could never even hope to possess. Truly envious, truly admirable.
Truly inspiring.
---
The Grand Inquisitior survived, relatively unscathed. He doesn't know how or why, but just as much fear rises in him as anger. The emperor had put his faith in him, graciously given him tools and knowledge. All things he was continously denied and held back from in the Jedi Order. And he's felt it lately; how the emperor has been slowly pulling back on those things. Losing faith in his abilities. Or has he been losing his usefulness? He can't even follow through to the end of his own fate. He failed in stopping a single Jedi and his padawan. And yet he still lives.
He still lives. He hadn't felt competent enough by the Jedi Order, but he still yearned to strive for that. At least until the events of Offee and Tano. That was when he lost faith in the Order. He out lived the order, he survived order 66. Despondent, he looked to Sideous who offered him what the Jedi Order had denied him time and time again. All he had to do was relinquish himself. He doesn't even remember his own name these days. He traded everything for the promise of knowledge. He had felt like someone had faith in him and his abilities. He made it much further as an inquisitor. Though he continuously lacked *something*. To fill the void, he always just pushed himself harder to be of use, to feel competent, to gain more knowledge.
But lately Sideous hadms been holding back. Limiting him. He thought maybe if he can simply just complete his mission, help ser through to the plans for Lothal, he would gain that back and the void would threaten to consume him.
But he failed. He failed, and yet he is still alive. And for that, there would be punishment.
All of this cumulates to him escaping before it is found out that he's alive. Going into hiding, he spends time scavenging ruins of sith and jedi, looking for artifacts, data, anything he can find. Most of which ends up just becoming a collection because he's no longer able to bend the force to his will and he can't open any of the jedi artifacts. It leaves him endlessly frustrated. He debates pursing Kanan and Ezra on his own. Bringing them to the emperor. Proving that he is of use.
He runs into similar problems as the artifacts, unable to track them. So where does he go? He finds the person he worked alongside to hunt these very people.
Agent Kallus.
He approaches the agent when he's alone, on a planet. The agent is perceptive, as always. He knows of the inquisitor's presence immediately. But just as the agent is aware of his presence, he is aware of a lack of intense, heavy anger that the agent formerly held. It's replaced by... something else. Something he hasn't been near or felt himself in a long time. So long that he doesn't know how to place it, what to call it.
"Grand Inquisitior? Shocking to see you. What do you need from me?"
"Straight to the point, how like you. What gives you the impression that I need you?
"Last I saw you, you were with Kanan Jarrus. He escaped and you were not heard from again. We both know what that failure means, and seeing as how you sought me out when I was alone and away from staff, I assume that you are in hiding and need my help." Kallus shuffles datapads around, before giving his attention to him. "Does that sound right?"
He laughs, "seeing as how you haven't made any move to arrest me, *I* assume you're interested in offering your help. Would I be correct in spectating that you have failed in capturing your rebels?"
Kallus gives him a calculated look. The inquisitor hates that he can't prod into what it could possibly be about. He's lost so much of his power. "You're looking to return to your pursuit."
Agitation rises in him. It feels as though Kallus is trying to dangle his goal outside his reach. "You are going to help me."
Kallus takes another moment to think on it, bringing further agitation to him. "What do you have to offer in return?" The agent seems to be choosing his words carefully. Kallus is planning something. Hiding something. "Helping you would only put myself in danger."
He narrows his eyes at the other. "You've never once cared about the dangers to yourself, just results. The result here would be you finally capturing your rebels."
"That's," it's barely there, but it *is* present; a pause, "no longer my directive. What do you have to offer me?"
There's another game here. Another angle. "You aren't one to leave things half finished, *Agent*."
Now *that* causes a flare in Kallus. A flare that is immediately shut down. He smirks, Kallus knows he's on to him.
"These rebels have bested you." He relaxes against the wall by him. Maybe he can get an upper hand.
"At least I didn't fail so spectacularly that I had to fake my death and go into hiding."
He sneers, growling at the other. "Alright then, Kallus. What is it that you desire? Help with your lasat? We could easily take him in a fight."
"Absolutely not." There's no hesitation. In fact, where he thought there would be interest and intrigment, there's apprehension and a whiff of fear. "Why do you wish to pursue a task you've already failed past redemption? We both know that it won't grant you solace or reinstatement."
He knows that Kallus is just trying to change his attention, he knows that's what he's doing, but knowing that doesn't stop him from halting.
"You're chasing after a ghost for what? The implausible chance that you'll be accepted back? What is it that you actually want?"
A year ago, he would've simply cut kallus down where he stands. But the faith that he had in the emperor, much like the faith he had in the order, has wavered. Even if he does bring them to the emperor, and he does dedicate himself once more to lothal, there's no guarantee that he'll be accepted back. That he'll be granted the privilege of knowledge. That he'll be allowed to keep breathing.
He reels himself back. Kallus has a purpose for trying to sway him. For avoiding the capture of these rebels.
"And what is it you want? What are you seeking?" He sneers.
"The answer to that depends on the answer you give me."
"I want access to knowledge. Knowledge denied to me by the order. Knowledge that was given to me by the emperor."
"That same knowledge that he stripped from you?"
All he can do in response is curl his lip at Kallus.
"The jedi order is a distant memory, and, to my understanding, chances of you returning to your previous position are slim to none."
"So what do you suggest? What do you want from me?"
"Are there other ways to aquire what you seek?"
He thought over this himself more times than he could count. "It isn't an easy path, and even if I take it, return to it, there's no guarantee I'll be accepted back. And the chances that I will run into the same blockades as before are certain." The very thought of... it's enough to make him laugh, bitterly.
"So these blockades," Kallus nods carefully, "they were in the way? Placed there by the order?"
"I am losing my patience."
Kallus seems to be doing the same, but he takes a deep breath. "Large obstacles don't appear out of nowhere. Without foundation. What was the foundation that supported them?"
He stares at Kallus for a long moment. "With that suggestion, my oath would be even more difficult."
"Anything worth working for always is. Are you willing to put forth that effort?"
"What is it you want. What is it you're working for?" He's asked this for the umpteenth time.
Kallus takes an apprehensive breath, one that's shaky in his lungs. Daring. Bold. "A change in your allegiances. In your short term goals. In exchange, I will offer help for your long term goal of knowledge. However I am able."
A year ago, he would've laughed. He would've turned him over to the emperor for his own gain.
Something, however, that Kallus has, is expressing so freely is filling a void that he tried to run from for so many years. Its a void that niether the emperor nor the jedi order could successfully fill. And he wants to know what it is. Needs to know what it is.
"Alright. Tell me what you want me whatever minuscule goals you wish for me to complete and I will see through to them." He goes to bow, but pauses when Kallus extends his hand. "What is..." he motion vaguely to the gesture, "all that?"
"A handshake. There will be mutual benefits in this deal."
The former inquisitor considers it. Kallus is approaching this as an equal. "Fine," he sighs, accepting the offer. "And do not worry, your treasonous secret will not leave from me."
Appreciation flows from the Not-Imperial. "Thank you, I'm aware that you don't much care for the empire and that none if this would matter one way or another to you." Kallus grips his hand tighter and holds his gaze firmly. "So know that if you do expose me, I won't hesitate to bring you down with me."
He laughs at that, something light for the first time in longer than he can keep track of. "I would say just keep me from becoming bored and you won't have to worry, but you've sparked too much interest for me to need to clarify."
Kallus rolls his eyes. "Also,"
"There's more you worry about?"
The look that falls over Kallus’s eyes is quite possibly the darkest he's seen on him. And the feeling that washes over him from the Not-Imperial is quite possibly the most delightful brush of corruption that he's experienced since the day Sideous gave him access to knowledge.
"You harm The Ghost Crew in any way, shape, or form, and I will make whatever the emperor could've done to you look like a joke. Force or not."
Oh, oh this is going to be fun. "I wouldn't dream of it." He smiles toothily.

Dragon Ball Super manga Ch.55-58
Tumblr media
What a bunch of grap.
Tumblr media
Okay, so last time, Whis went to talk to the Grand Minister about Merus.  Turns out Merus is an angel, just like they are, and that’s why he’s been so secretive about his abilities.  The problem is that angels are forbidden from taking sides in mortal affairs. They have to be impartial in all things.  Beyond this, however, there’s no restrictions on what they can and can’t do.  So the Grand Minister allowed Merus to join the Galactic Patrol, since it was a way for him to learn about mortals, but he’s clearly developed a bias from his time with the organization.  He hasn’t violated the rule yet, but he’s come extremely close. Whis asks permission to deal with Merus himself, and the Grand Minister allows him to proceed.
Tumblr media
So Whis shows up at the end of Merus and Goku’s training, when they’re preparing to fight each other at full power.  That’s a bridge too far.  Whis has trained Goku himself, obviously, but an actual battle goes against what the angels are supposed to be about.  Also, Whis knows that Merus was planning to join the battle against Moro on Earth.  With the cat out of the bag, Merus agrees to go with Whis, leaving Goku on his own.
Tumblr media
Which would be okay, except Goku has to take Merus’ ship back to Earth, and he doesn’t know how to navigate.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Vegeta has completed the first stage of his training on Yardrat, and Pybara is ready to show Vegeta how to apply what he’s learned.
Tumblr media
But before they can start, Yardrat is attacked by Moro’s scouts, led by a Zarbon knockoff.   Vegeta defeats him with ease, and he’s astonished by how much his power has increased, simply from learning how to balance his body and ki in the Yardratti way.
Tumblr media
By now, Moro’s henchmen have reached Earth, but Vegeta still refuses to go back there, since he hasn’t learned a technique that will even the odds against Moro.  Pybara agrees to skip Instant Transmission and show him something more useful for this situation, but he still doesn’t have much time to work with.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the Z-Fighters have prepared for Moro’s invasion... just like they did in Resurrection F.  This arc is just one callback after another.  I can see why fans were so hard on Toyotaro while this thing was being published.  Merus seems to be the only original idea in this whole story, and we’ve just learned that he’s been forbidden from interfering, so what good is he?
Tumblr media
Oh, and Majin Buu’s still fucking asleep.  Keep in mind he fell asleep right before the Tournament of Power started, and didn’t wake up until well into this arc, and then he fell asleep again right after he fought Moro.  And now it looks like he’s on track to sleep through the rest of this arc.
Tumblr media
So Seven Three goes after Gohan and Piccolo and he uses his copy ability on both of them, so he can match their powers completely.  This would seem to negate all the training they did leading up to this battle, except Seven-Three can only use one guy’s power set at a time.  So he can be as powerful as Piccolo or Gohan, but he has to fight Piccolo and Gohan at the same time, and they know a bunch of combo attacks that he can’t handle.
Tumblr media
So Seven Three uses his trump card, which is to use the powers he copied from Moro, except this time 17 and 18 join the battle, and Seven Three can’t drain their ki because they don’t have any.  Well, why doesn’t Seven Three just use Moro’s other abilities?  Like how he made his allies stronger, or the way he could beat the shit out of Goku and Vegeta?   Moro couldn’t drain Buu’s energy either, but he beat him just fine, so why can’t Seven Three defeat 17 and 18?
Tumblr media
Here’s a bonus comic about Frieza’s whole deal during this Moro business.  He decides he’s just gonna stay out of this one.  I’m so glad we wasted two pages to explain that Frieza’s not going to do anything.  Maybe we could have a two page comic about how Yajirobe’s decided to sit this one out.  Or a comic about Bulma’s mom staying home to water the plants.
Seriously, fuck this Moro Saga.  We started with this whole bit about how Buu was the key to victory, and that went nowhere, then Merus’ dad made him quit the story early, and now Frieza’s just popping in to tell us he doesn’t give a shit.  Oh, and Moro keeps holding back because he doesn’t see any of the good guys as a threat, so most of the fighting in this arc has been pointless.
Tumblr media
So Moro’s group splits up to loot the Earth of its treasures before Moro consumes its life energy.  This means the Z-Fighters have to split up and tackle the henchmen.  Yamcha fights some guys, Master Roshi takes on some girl henchmen, and Tien and Chiaotzu get stuck with an Auta Magetta knockoff.  His species are vulnerable to insults, but Tien doesn’t know how to dis people, so Chiaotzu does it for him.  Excuse me, but Tien was insulting people all the time during the 22nd Budokai.  He was a colossal dick back then.  Sure, he became all polite and proper, but it’s not like he forgot how to be a raging asshole.
Tumblr media
Finally, Moro steps in to handle things himself, and Goku shows up soon after, when he gets close enough to Earth to sense Krillin charging his ki.  He prepares to fight Moro, but Moro empowers one of his goons more and more, in order to force Goku to show more of his true power.
Tumblr media
So Goku finally obliges by using Ultra Instinct.  Specifically, he uses the incomplete version he had when he first discovered the ability.  Goku calls this “Ultra Instinct Sign”, like it’s some distinct thing separate from the complete version of UI.  That’s like saying half a cup of coffee is the “initial stage” of a full cup of coffee.
The manga has been doing this crap all along, and I think I’m finally getting tired of it.  Toyotaro really, really likes showing off all of Goku’s forms, and now there’s so many of them that it’s becoming very cumbersome to go through them all.  Super Saiyan 3 and Super Saiyan God pretty much became obsolete once Super Saiyan Blue was available, but Toyotaro seems to feel obligated to cycle through all of them whether it’s justified or not.  Likewise, why would Goku ever bother using “Ultra Instinct Sign” when he knows how to use full-on Ultra Instinct?  This wasn’t an intermediate power-up, it was Goku discovering a power and not knowing how to use it.
Anyway, we’re about halfway through this arc, and I guess we’re officially in the final battle, so maybe things will get better from here, but I’m not optimistic.  Everything that led up to this moment has been a giant waste of time.

Lol imagine Daishinkan accidentally having or not having something like "empty nest syndrome" after millions of years of parenthood with his angels when he sees the little kids of Z fighters while being invited along with Zeno to Bulma's party. It happens so randomly and suddenly, Daishinkan just gathers all the stranger children in one of the rooms of Bulma's house (make a nest out of whatever he can find) and cat-like purrs. No one cries, everyone behaves obediently. This guy has a strangely pleasant paternal energy.
Imagine just walking in and seeing all the z fighters children cuddling up to Daishikan and sleeping in some sort of nest. Daishikan is just purring because he used to love doing that with his children.
I can just imagine one of the z fighters walking in on that just trying to find their child and once they do find their child they just don’t question it and walk away.

From the video you posted yesterday, how would it be in an au if Tua never died, and she just expressed her feelings to Pryce, who knew Thrawn and Eli?
I finally have a response to this :D
So my take on this AU, where Tua and Pryce are together, would be Tua expressing to Pryce her problems and her fears after the execution of Grint and Aresko. Pryce is a little close to the Chimaera Trio in this AU too, and she asks them a favor.
They manage to save Tua from the explosion, but now Tua has to hide out, so Pryce keeps her hidden in her home in Coruscant, away from Lothal. Then Pryce commits her own act of treason in Batonn, so she hides away with Tua.
In the end, Thrawn sends the three of them to the Ascendancy for safety and usefulness.
