Oh my GOD this took me sooooo long and also I suck at doing comics but!!! I'm very proud of the result and I can finally get this idea out of my system!!!
My version of the events of the Dragonhold dlc, because I played it out of order and also I am a sucker for drama. And for Azgumar and Abnur's weird friendship. And for a feral Fennorian.
(Both Azg and Abnur survive, but at what cost. I'll tell you the cost it's Abnur's legs and Azg and Fenn's relationship taking a very very VERY hard blow)

Grand Chancellor of the Galerion Homestead Council, Abnur Tharn, becomes increasingly concerned about the high winds outdoors and how they will impact Lady Galerion's willingness to escort to the Great Play Pen of the Woods.
Tumblr media
He hopes for support from Court Wizard, Merlin, Lord of the Fancy Feet, but as usual he is disappointed as the Court Wizard would rather enjoy sunbathing at the moment.

Frustrated, Lord Tharn ponders the outcome of evening playtime alone.

28th of Rain’s Hand, Fredas
Just as I was beginning to believe that I shall languish at The Waxing Crescent forever, lest I risk venturing blindly into the wilds, I ran into a strangely familiar face.
Well, I suppose it is more real to say that I heard it first, though I did not expect that it could possibly belong to who I had heard.
Of course, I was stretched upon one of the couches with Nettle, discussing in Bosmeris what our next course of action would be, since we had come upon another failure since I last wrote. I thought we may have found the place, truly, but it soon became clear that it was not the right starting place at all. A roadside shrine stood where there should have been a tall boulder. And it was not a recent addition, either.
So I was rather surprised to hear someone ask if it was me, by name.
I turned, weapons at the ready, to see the smirking face of Grand Chancellor Abnur Tharn. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I simply smiled and gave him a short bow of my head, unsure how much he was hoping to keep his identity a secret.
He took it as an invitation to join me and sat down besides me. Nettle was on edge, I think he worried that this may have been planned, but I waved over the waiter and asked for two more glasses to be brought.
Tharn asked me what I was doing so far across the continent and why I was styling myself some sort of Khajiiti whore. I laughed, nearly choking upon the smoke of my hookah, at his greeting that betrayed his feeling of familiarity. I asked him why he was not being more subtle himself, given that he appeared to have a target upon his handsome, balding head.
He moved farther into my space as I poured him a decent glass of brandy and with a sniff, gave me a nod of approval. He seemed surprised and I assured him that a merchant like myself did not have a reason to bother with the weak, cheap stuff. I would rather enjoy the Empire’s export and be reminded of those good spirits from home.
I particularly enjoyed the suppressed cringing on his face as I called him my dear Abe. He clearly was hiding himself enough not to wish to cause a scene and I relished in making him squirm a bit. Even if it meant he might be a bit prickly later on.
He took my meaning of a cover and asked how my business had been. I gave him a nonsense answer about mostly being well, but having not yet acquired that which I had come to the city for. I asked about his business ventures and he got a look of thought and told me that perhaps he had a proposition that might work well for us both.
Regardless of the way that my guards and Nettle looked at me, I allowed Tharn to lead me away. The young Khajiit who had accompanied him came along also, until Tharn told her to run along and that he would find her later.
I made myself very comfortable upon his sprawling mattress and asked him what use he had thought of for me. It was pushing the boundaries a bit, but what fun would it be if I were not to do so?
Tharn stood at the edge of the mattress and looked at me for a moment, as if deciding if he was more angry at my behavior or more keen to make use of me for his own needs.
He tapped his staff upon the ground and I felt myself raise up from the bed and levitate before him. I smiled and shifted so that my budi slipped off one shoulder.
Tharn rolled his eyes at me and told me I truly was a hungry little tart. I told him I was guilty as charged, but that it did not answer what he wanted of me.
He explained, somewhat exasperated, that I could have been of far more use if I had still been in Morrowind when he had to trek halfway across Stonefalls. I laughed and told him that I resided in Deshaan, in Mournhold, as well he knew. If only he had sent word, I would have made the trek to come and see him. That he was always welcome at my estate.
Tharn put a hand over my mouth, gripping the sides of my face, and explained that he was working on a way to end the Three Banners war.
That certainly was not what I had expected to hear. He said he had found a weapon that would force all sides to take notice and put down arms.
Of course I was horrified. The Empire, as devastated as it was under the civil war, Daedric invasion, and Three Banners War, should not be relying on some incredibly powerful weapon. Knowing that Tharn was ready to work for a Daedric Prince in order to garner power, I knew this must be something of immense power. And it frightened me to think of it in the Empire’s hands.
Tharn asked me to help him finish finding the coordinates to its location. I told him that I had my personal business still to attend to, and it had a time limit. I asked how long this venture may take.
He told me a week at most. I was not sure if I believed him or not.
We agreed that I would speak with my entourage and see if there was not some way to still return to my task. I told him that I had a great distance still to travel and he said that if things went well that perhaps he could be persuaded to use his grand powers, usually reserved for actually important matters, to speed my journey.
It seemed almost too good a deal to be true. There had to be a catch. It was Tharn, there was always a catch.
I needed to speak with Nettle about this. If nothing else, the House should know. It would not be good for the Empire to have this weapon. It would be devastating should any faction get a hold of it, but if I were to divert our course, I would need to let Nettle know why. I could probably sell the House on my working to sabotage the recovery of this weapon. And depending on how it was done, Tharn, as clever as he was, would be none the wiser But it was something I would need assistance with executing. A plan needed to be made.
Of course, it would not be the dynamic we had established if Tharn did not make use of me in the usual way. Honestly, it was a relief when he initiated. It meant that he still thought of me as a useful tool. And it meant he was willing to owe me.
I asked Nettle to get another bottle and we are going to formulate our plan tonight.

So You’re Married to Abnur Tharn
So You’re Married to Abnur Tharn
A Complete Guide to Life Married to the Grand Chancellor, Volume One (Abridged)
Written by an anonymous servant of the Tharn estate and certainly not by Abnur Tharn himself
1. Other people will constantly refer to you as "The Eighth Wife." Some in the Tharn family might call you "The Latest Pet." Both terms are inevitable, no matter your social standing before the marriage.
2. Do not be intimidated by the rest of the family. Remember that Abnur Tharn is the Patriarch. As his wife, you should not have to curry their favor. It should be the other way around.
3. His living children will never view you as their mother, no matter how many years you remain married to him or how cordial your relationship to them may seem. What, did you think the Empress Regent would call you Mother? Don’t be ridiculous.
4. On the subject of children, while bearing children is not a necessity, Abnur Tharn can be a rather physical lover. You may want to monitor your cycle if children are not your goal. He has too many other things on his mind to consider it himself. While already the father of sixteen, Abnur Tharn is not opposed to having more.
5. Unless you are a rather docile, submissive person, expect arguments to occur. If they do, it does not necessarily mean the union is not a good one. On the contrary, for whatever reason, Abnur Tharn enjoys butting heads with his spouses. When it comes to arguments, roughly 87% of the time Abnur Tharn will insist that he is in the right. If ever he insists he is right and then later discovered he was in error, he will most likely never bring it to your attention, but you may find yourself in possession of newer clothes, jewels, and other trinkets. This may not be related.
6. There will be days or even weeks where he will be away from home tending to business. You must accept this. Whining and complaining will change nothing, though he may find it endearing.
7. With his job, Abnur Tharn has to keep secrets from you pertaining to the Empire and what he does. Never question him on this. If this is going to cause you distress, do not agree to the marriage. Keep prying, and he will terminate the marriage or worse. Respect his privacy, and he will respect yours.
8. By the time you are married, you will most likely know a great deal about the Tharn family history. You will be expected to know all of it by the third year of marriage. Why the third year? Because four years is too long and two years is too short.
9. He may not say it often, but note that if he has gone through with the marriage, Abnur Tharn does love you. He abhors weddings, so he wouldn’t have gone through with it if he didn’t. Try not to pester him too much about it. But if you really must question it, he will most likely remind you. Just try not to ask it too often. It gets tiresome.
10. Do not try to be someone you are not. It is annoying and dishonest. Be the person he married, not the person you think ought to be married to him. See point 9 if confused.
11. If he does not need to attend an event, please don’t make him go. He does not like parties or ceremonies. But if you really must have him there, he would endure it for you. He will constantly bring this sacrifice up, so invite him at your own risk.
12. If you want pets, you may have pets, as many as you’d like, but please make sure they don’t make a mess of the house. As a side note, he doesn't mind cats too much, as he finds them rather self-sufficient and clean. If you get a dog, he’ll insist it not sleep in the bed, but he’ll stop complaining about it after four or five nights.

Inktober Day 2
Wrathstone
“You have no idea who I am, do you?” He asked in obvious annoyance.
“No adventurer worthy of note, clearly,” Tharayya replied, glancing at his pristine armor.
“I am the Overlord of Nibenay, head of the Elder Council, Imperial Grand Chancellor Abnur Tharn. Yes, the very same Tharn family that has advised kings and emperors for countless centuries. Perhaps that rings a bell?”
“Those titles don’t mean much when you’re deep in some Dwemer ruins. What do you want?”
“Bah, worthless adventurer types! It’s apparent you have taken one too many blows to the head from those Dwemer traps. Perhaps I can appeal to a more... baseline interest... how does gold sound to you? Quickly now, before your ears fill with the ringing provided by yet another Dwemer device to the head.”
Tharayya stopped to consider. She had sold plenty of artifacts before... for a hefty sum. The objects she had found were generally useless, save for the income they provided her. While some had proven more difficult to acquire, the majority of them had been easy pickings, not that she ever told the buyers that. “For the right price, any of the rare artifacts I have salvaged are yours.”
“I want the Wrathstone,” Abnur Tharn demanded.
That one had been extraordinarily difficult to get her hands on. Two halves of the same stone. Two daring delves into Dwemer and Ayleid ruins. The risk alone made the Wrathstone valuable, not to mention the dragon legends that surrounded it. Whoever this buyer was, he seemed very self absorbed and proud of the titles he had put forth. Men like this could easily be convinced artifacts were worth more than they truly were. “500,000 gold and the Wrathstone is yours.”
“Done,” the Imperial Grand Chancellor agreed simply. “My cart is outside, come along now... err... what was your name again? There’s too many of you adventuring lackwits for me to keep them all straight.”

The world denies him to drink coffee in peace. Obligatory excerpt:
“I have my ways to keep me through the day.” As a demonstration, Calo rises his cup in a gentle parody of a toast.
Tharn gets the hint and their cups clink together. “Share your secret: Where did you get regular coffee, without any cream or moon-sugar?”
Calo grins with a little spark of pride: “Oh, I just ask for sha'zza-me rawl.”
“Sorry bean water?”
“As long as I get what I want, I do not really care what it is called.”
Then they drink in a silence which seems comfortable enough to Calo that he doesn't try to break it. Only once the pot is empty and both the men feel somewhat more awake, Tharn Definitelly Not Grand Chancellor asks: “Remind me, have we met before? Before Elsweyr, I mean.”
