âI do not suppose, that you are part of this plan on kidnapping anyone and putting them in a situation that seems almost absurd.â There is a forced calm on Fredret visage, as if barely restraining himself from exploding right now.Â
âIf I were part of this whole scheme, do you really think Iâd resign myself to living with complete strangers in a place like this?â Heâs doing dishes as the confrontation begins, though he merely gives an exhausted glance over his shoulder. Abnur, only mildly upset that his silence has been disrupted, allows the other to mull over his words before he finds a dish towel to dry off his hands and hesitantly extend one out. âAbnur Tharn, Overlord of Nibenay and Chancellor of the Elder Council. Although, titles are worthless here. You look like someone who might need that sort of advice.â

@empireservedâ found you.Â
Though there is nothing more that Narilmor would want, then to extend the virtues of meridia into the city itself. His lack of power would be a affront to the name of Meridia.Â
 âYou areâŚ.a familiar sight.â
Humans, he had humans before. Before the purification, sometimes in court. Sometimes in war.Â
âYour armour, reminds me of something.â
Very few strangers passed by on the streets stand out in a way that actually matters to Abnur. Hundreds upon hundreds of people with featureâs heâs never seen before, likely will never see again, and yet his mind takes the greatest notice in familiarity. Apparently, this fellow approaching him must operate the same.
âI could say the same about you.â
He takes a step back, looks the mer up and down to try and get some sense of who he could be, where heâs from. All the battlemage can pin down is theories, best guess being that the armor is scavanged from and Ayleid ruin, but it hardly clears up the confusion.
âYouâre from Tamriel, Iâm certain of that, but I donât believe weâve ever met. Where exactly are you from?â

The miqoâteâs ears slightly droop at the others words,a small but understanding smile forming on his face.Â
â More so an adventurerâŚ..Then again my friends would give you another answer which would just be âYes he is a heroâ â
He replies with a gentle chuckle before giving a small nod
â After so many years, having this quiet moment feels odd as I am not used to itâŚ..but I of course welcome it,Iâve needed it for so long â
Oh great, heâs humble.
âEither way, I wouldnât be apposed to hearing some stories, if you ever decide you wish to tell them. Iâve got far too much time on my hands, and I canât spend all of it researching.â

â At least you had a chance to be back home,I havenât left this place at all â
Brown eyes watch the other grab his walking staff, gently folding his arms across his chest as he speaks to the other.
â Well the joy for me is wellâŚI have no need to worry as much anymore, most of the burden of making sure the Star I hail from is safe has been removed from my shoulders â
âI wish I could say for certain that I was able to return. My memory of the time is⌠clouded. Best not to dwell on it.â
A small huff, quiet and discontented.
âAh, A hero, I take it? Seldom a quiet moment for your kind, if youâre doing your job properly.â

Abnur:
â Ah I see you have been returned to this place once again â
The Miqoâteâs tone to the other was a soft one, knowing the other probably wasnât all too happy about being pulled back into this place after having left it
â I doubt this place will ever go to pieces anytime soonâŚ.Iâd rather it not as having a break from being an adventurer is doing me well â
âUnfortunately, I canât seem to escape it.â
He grabs his walking staff from where itâs âsheathedâ on the back of his armor, ever so slightly leaning against it as he stops to speak to the other.
âItâs good that someone can benefit from all of this. I canât find that sort of peace. Divines know whatâs going on in Tamriel in my absence. The ability to handle bad situtations with competence is a woefully rare trait.â

The Ascian turns around to face the one who bestows upon him this constructive criticism, blinks a few inconspicuous blinks, then bows briefly. A display of gratitude.
âWhy, thank you ever so much for bringing this to my attention, Sir! Luckily Iâve still a free haircut voucher on me that was given upon my arrival to Spirale City. Mayhap tis time I made use of it.â He also adds with a smile, âSurely someone with your poorly preserved appearance is speaking from experience, thus I wager twould be unwise of me to not heed your advice.â
He goes through an array of emotions in a matter of seconds: confusion, shock, annoyance, and finally an anger that he has to push down, keep from exploding so that he simply broods.
The audacity of youth these days, in here and Tamriel. He scrunches his face up in a rare display of strong fury, yet the rest of his body remains calm, still where he stands.
âOh please, Iâm not taking insults from someone dressed in garish robes that look like theyâve been shoddily sewn by a teenage, want-to-be cultist. My apologies, Iâll let the general public continue to scowl at your presence.â

âArenât you a sight for sore eyes. Matthew, was it?â
Itâs spoken in a sarcastic tone, of course, the usual look of irritation painted upon Abnurâs face as he approaches the Miqoâte. At least someone he vaguely recognizes is still around.
âTake it things are going well, seeing as this wretched city is still in one piece.â

Matthew did notice the otherâs gaze constantly moving over to his ears, not thinking too much about it since a few others in this place had the same reaction to him when first meeting. It seems Miqoâteâs are not a thing for some people.
Even tho he wasnât the biggest fan of having eyes on him -kinda hard to do back in Ethyris when youâre the Warrior of Light- he didnât mind so much hereâŚâŚWell at first he didnât enjoy it too much but after learning a bit more about this place and how people here are from different universes,Matthew grew to accept that people are going to be curious about him
â I apologise for not being much help to you â
He replies with a nervous smile, rubbing the back of his neck for a moment before his ears perked up at the others question. A confused expression formed on his face for a moment at the mention of âKhajiitâ. He had never heard of this beforeâŚ..Not even during his time in Elpis was that name uttered.
â Ah I come from EorzeaâŚ..If you would like to know I am whatâs called a Miqoâte. I am guessing they are similer to what you call Khajiit? â Â
âItâd be hypocrisy on my part if I held it against you. Itâs quite alright.â Frustrating, by all means, but not something to lambast the stranger for, not that it would have been his focus either way.
The otherâs surprise was answer enough. Tharn ignored the dreadful feeling of a sinking heart, pushing on through disappointment and some bitter thoughts directed at whatever greater power had control. The word âMiqoâteâ was repeated in hush breaths, a moment of silence delaying his response.
âYes, very cat-like both in nature and appearance, most to a greater extent than you are. Fascinating people, though I imagine they would flounder here seeing as thereâs only one moon.â His eyes remained on the otherâs features, âAlthough, I can't help but wonder the similarities. No matter - I donât believe I ever introduced myself.â
âI am Abnur Tharn, overlord of Nibenay and Chancellor of the Elder Council.â

Olgierd, is at least a very good host to willing and unwilling people. Though there is very much something he could do, the acts of getting money is rather easy to him now , much different from his younger more foolish self. But his heart remains of stone and there is very little people can actually do about it. The demon itself could not even touch him here, hence the deal and wish would remain unbroken for a long time until entropy ends everything.Â
âWhy not offer to teach magic? Surely that would attract fools who desire the excitement.â
Then againâŚconsidering his own historyâŚ
Heâs quick to fleer, almost instinctively so. âIâm not a people-person. Being a politician is torturous enough, I think Iâd rather be put out of my misery than teach.âÂ
Another drink punctuates the comment, followed by words just a bit more silent. âBesides, thereâs something interfering. No matter how hard I try to use magic I⌠I canât. Itâs not any sort of block across the city because I can still do some things, and Iâve seen others capable of it.â he brings interlocked hands up in front of his mouth, brow furrowing. âItâs both horribly fascinating and miserable. I intend to look into it more, but I donât suppose anyone will pay me to do research like that - but no matter.âÂ
Abnur finishes the rest of the glass, and gently pushes it towards the other with his index fingers. âThis is a tavern, if I was here to research Iâd be in a library, and Iâd be a fool not to take advantage of your little offer.â

dovqahnaarinâ:Â
they couldnât help but smile slightly as the chancellor seemed pleased by their respectful tone; while kharza was known for being blunt and straightforward, that didnât have to mean disrespect. they often tried to approach others with kindness until the favor wasnât returned.
â ⌠youâre right. iâm still new to my title. myâŚabilities in that regard only manifested a few months ago - and suddenly. iâd never even heard the term before. my profession was guarding trading caravans, notâŚdealing with dragons. â kharza confessed, gaze falling to their feet as they did so. why not a nord for a dragonborn, theyâd wondered so often. a human, at least. most of the notable dragonborn theyâd learned of so far were of men, not the pariah folk.Â
their brow raised at the mention of dragons in elsweyr, the home of the khajit. theyâd met a few of the catfolk in their travels - and had heard nothing of dragons there. â iâŚwasnât aware of a dragon problem in elsweyr. â that pit of guilt opened in their chest again as they thought of all of tamriel ( perhaps even beyond ) resting on their shoulders once more. â ⌠i was in skyrim prior to my arrival here. and before that, i was to be put to the executionerâs block from cyrodiil. â the dragonbornâs hands fidgeted; it wasnât the memory of their would-be beheading that made them uneasy, but being reminded that it was supposedly their fate to face the world-eater.Â
the screaming, the flames, the inability to help anyone other than themself. ..it still stuck with them, even after facing even deadlier threats since then.
â perhaps iâll be able to assist should we return home soon. â their tone didnât hold much in the way of sincerity, because they still held doubts that they would survive their encounter with alduin. theyâd dealt with daedric princes, with sorcerers, with ancient entities far beyond their comprehension, and yet⌠they recalled the figure of the dragonborn carved on the akaviri wall of alduinâs legend. could it really be meant to represent themâŚ.? Â
â hopefully this will be aâŚshort stay, at any rate. iâm finding it quite difficult to adjust to things here.  â even the concept of currency in this world was bizarre to them.
âA companion of mine had quite the similar issue, The Vestige. Had their soul rather unceremoniously ripped from their body, from what I heard, and text thing they knew they were a hero of prophecy. Certainly one of the less insufferable people I had to work with at the time.â He couldnât help but wonder, what they were up to now, if they were still defending Elsweyr, or weaseled out some other vast disturbance plaguing Tamriel. Always on the move, they were.
Abnurâs heart sank. Of course, theyâd far extended past the boundaries of Elsweyr, there was no surprise in that, but with how long it had been⌠was Kaalgrontiidâs death even a mere scratch on the population?Â
This was all his fault.Â
âThe dragons originated from Elsweyr. It seems like most of them are sticking to the area, although clearly not all of them. We were hoping the death of Kaalgrontiid would have disrupted them enough to make defeating the majority of them much easier, but obviously, that wasnât widespread.â He inhaled, and let out a loud sigh, âAt least Skyrim isnât completely doomed, but that might not be the same for other provinces.â
âIf you manage to figure anything out here, I would appreciate an explanation. I pride myself in knowledge⌠which makes being stuck here all the more dreadful.â
