met with my thesis advisor today and i sat down at lunch and BRACED myself to hear him say "okay so. this story. it's. uh. not your strongest work" so i was NOT prepared at all to hear "this story is so close to it's final form already, i was blown away and proud of you, what a mic drop to end the semester on!" and i like. almost fell over. i need to get better about accepting praise. i was like, oh fuck, im gunna fall over. oh no did he lose his mind????????????
