George und seine Gattin Camille oder Antoinette oder Rita, immer den gleichen Namen zu haben ist ja langweilig, tanzen durchs Leben. Zu den Klängen des allseits beliebten Songs Mr. Bojangles, der zwar noch gar nicht geschrieben war, als sie sich kennenlernten, aber da sie ohnehin in einer Phantasiewelt leben, ist das eigentlich auch egal. Sohn Gary ist ein reizendes, kluges Kind und der leidlich vernünftige Hausfreund, Möchtegernnebenbuhler und Quasipatenonkel “Mistkerl” passt ein bisschen auf sie auf. Der fabelhaft ausgestattet Charity/Tiffany/Amélie-Traum bekommt dann Risse, Virginie stellt sich allmählich als so wahnsinnig heraus, daß sich abzeichnet, daß sie so wohl nicht damit durchkommen werden und die Realität sich nicht weiter aussperren lässt. Folgerichtig stürzt der Film seine Helden und auch seine Zuschauer aus heitersten jubelnden Höhen in tiefste Schwermut und ein Meer von Tränen, was nicht leicht zu verkraften ist, aber dem Krankheitsbild entspricht. Es ist tragisch, aber wunderbar.

Nothing to Hide [trailer]
During a dinner party, seven friends decide to play a dangerous game. The attendees place their cell phones on the table and agree to make all texts, messages, and calls public in an attempt to prove that they have nothing to hide.
Despite the different international name, this is another adaptation of the Italian movie that's generally known as Perfect Strangers. By now there are more than twenty versions and counting, just like different stagings of a play. It's probably the most adapted movie of all time.
The best reason for country-specific versions is to use popular, local actors, it's also what attracted me to the French iteration.
As should be obvious to everyone, to take part in the game has a very hihgh chance of relationship and friendship suicide. But it's an interesting premise and makes for an entertaining film.
My memory is far from perfect, but this variation felt more confrontational, more dramatic right from the start. And it uses a somewhat different ending. Which is amusing, but it's the game and the revelations that are the most important and those are largely the same. Overall, another interesting variation.

Recensie Coupez! ★★★1/2 - vanaf 18-8 in de bioscoop
Kent een zeer trage start, maar het laatste uur geeft duiding aan het eerste half uur. Knap en creatief gefilmd, met als eindresultaat een vermakelijke film.
De komedie Coupez! gaat over een regisseur die samen met zijn cast en crew een zombie-horrorfilm opneemt. Dat gaat niet soepel en dan ontketent de regisseur ook nog een vloek. Wat wij van Coupez! vinden, lees je in onze recensie.
