Oh noooo I get it though. He did kind of explode and then end up absolutely everywhere. I grew up in New England, so not only has he been on my radar for while, but for me personally, his songs are extremely relatable - there is a certain trauma associated with growing up in that area haha (I also think his song Maine is so stupidly clever because there are the lines:

"If only, baby "There were cameras in the traffic lights They'd make me a star"

AND IN MAINE IT IS ILLEGAL TO HAVE CAMERAS IN THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS like there aren't red light cameras OR speed camera in the traffic lights which I am aware is a very weird niche thing but it was a very important part of my summer driving up to beach when I was a teenager in my very red car lol)

sorry i have to ramble some more about last twilight bc i cannot contain it. this is not anything meta, just some thoughts.

as an avid music lover and now a serious soundtrack enthusiast, i need to mention how much i adore the music choices of this show.

i am not sure who picks the final songs to be used and what criteria they use for it (is it p'aof? do they have some kind of library for songs they can pick from as many songs appear in several bls? or do they get free hands?), but the bg songs in last twilight that have caught my attention have been brilliant.

yes, sure, they use the instrumentals of their original songs. that's typical for bls and any shows really. but there are also other songs.

i like collecting instrumental songs to put on my playlist i use for writing, so good instrumentals always intrigue me. last twilight has now introduced me to two artists whose music feels very inspirational.

first one is francis wells whose song april will be cold was used in the scene where mork has flashbacks of his conversations with several ppl which then make him turn back and accept the caregiver job from day. i listened to several of the albums and these songs are very adventure game themed. very energetic, powerful, agile perhaps. a surprising choice. made me wonder where they found it (i am still leaning towards them having a library of songs they have free access to rather than someone actually knowing these artists).

another one is bonnie grace's song titled notorious. it was used in the scene where they show mork making his way through the market blindfolded as he tries to understand day's experience. once again, very adventure game, fantasy movie themed. pulls me even more outside the feeling of a "regular" bl. this show doesn't fit the category btw. idk if that category still exists as such but the boundaries of it have been pushed for a while now. i like it, it's what we need.

all this to say: i am very curious about these music choices and very grateful that last twilight is throwing new music my way. i will never say no to that.

im just going to go off in the tags for my review but last nights concert was crazy, entertaining, and crazily entertaining. while they did not play the rhythm thief clearly my rhythm, if i ever had any, was stolen and ron and russell were easily able to see my lack of clapping and dancing skills. when will those 70+ year old men stop beating me at everything

#you would think clapping on the beat is easy. not when youre on a level of excitement you havent been since you were a kid #in all seriousness my sarcastic tone is covering the fact that i really did enjoy it all so much. now on to the analysis #we'll get right to the heart of the matter: russell was sweating three songs in and well. there are many benefits to being in the front row #im really really sorry. but. good god i may have been looking at his neck a lot of the time #also it may have been during the first song but i feel like it was during another one where he jumped (beaver o'lindy?) #and my eyebrow raise and look of 👁️👄👁️ when his shirt rode up was very palpable. i was very close . #i think russ looked at me a couple times near the start but it was more of a dfjfljkda dont look at me im staring at u like 😍 moment for me #im just so self conscious it hurts! but i was smiling my head off the entire time while also not knowing how to stand #the front row was standing the entire time it was wild #also i think the moment i predicted did happen of ron giving me a look like 🤨 for knowing all the lyrics to one of their more obscure songs #but i could be wrong. #russell was bouncing off the walls as usual but good god to see it in person. and he sounded incredible!!!! #i also could not resist bouncing a few times. its contagious. plus you gotta do it during music that you can dance to #good gosh what a fun time. #at the end of the concert someone was like 'i could see you looking with such love' like yes very true. good to know it was obvious #can i just say again russell was sooo. its a different thing altogether seeing him like 6 feet away in the Real World #did i mention how sweaty he was. ok review almost over #still no eaten by the monster of love but hard to complain with such a great show #spars #sparks tour 2023 spoilers

So, I just binged the entirety of the Sandman series on Netflix. Honestly? Amazing. It was almost like reading it for the first time, but different and special in all those ways only film/tv can really do. So yeah! I recommend, if you’re into media that depicts the absolute highs and lows of humanity.
